Seven and Tuvok, in the aftermath of Seven's successful hijacking of yet another Federation ship.

14 - Teen Wolf, 21, and... 24 - Tuvix
Thanks for asking!
14 Is there a character or ship you were so sure you would never write/draw but now you've changed your mind?
Never is a strong word. But I was surprised at how much I ended up liking scileo. I don't tend to focus much on Theo outside of them, but I was surprised how much I enjoyed that dynamic. And how much I wrote for them. (I will not tag the responsible parties but they know who they are.)
21 Go onto your AO3. Which ship have you written for the most? The least? Does this correspond to who you consider your "favourite?"
Answered here. It's either an admirable or embarrassing number of truedemon fics, depending on my mood.
24 What's your favourite thing about [character]?
Tuvix. WOW. That is a. I have not thought about that in a long, long time. I mean, I love Tuvok and Neelix each for disparate reasons. So them being smushed together was a whole thing that I barely remember, tbh
I may have to go rewatch some oyager (oh no, lol). I remember thinking that it was a really well-done episode, that it really asked questions about identity and made you think. I was obsessed with Kes the very first time I watched Voyager, and I remember feeling awful for her being in that position.
I don't even know if that's a real answer but it's what I've got. Thanks for reminding about him!

Having the same boring plot line where a crew member falls in love with a hologram has so much more promise in voyager a series that regularly explore how ‘human’ a hologram can be. It’s extra funny though that Harry freaks out because he’s in love with a fictional character by in universe standards and Tom Paris is simply like “who hasn’t fallen in love with a hologram”

Threshold
Happy Threshold Day! Starfleet SVU is something I have been thinking about for a long while and I decided to use the holiday to kickstart it. This story takes place after Voyager gets home and features the current cast of Law & Order: SVU (season 25).
Star Trek/Lizard Babies fans, you do not need to know SVU to enjoy this fic (@liz-squids confirmed this for me). SVU fans, it would be difficult to follow without knowing Voyager and as hilarious as it would be for "Threshold" to be someone's introduction to Star Trek, I do not encourage that. If you know/like both of these very flawed series that I love very much, this fic is for you.

voyager high school au
i feel like we as a species are really missing an important angle on this much-abused trope.
usually high school aus take our current, fully developed characters and de-age them into teenage equivalents (tuvok is captain of the chess team, harry is in all AP classes but is somehow a freshman forever, seven demolishes at quiz bowl and "steals" the class president's prom date at the last minute because she hasn't realized that lesbianism is an option, etc).
however, if you have to send them to high school, i think it would be much funnier if we imagine them as they canonically were as teens.
--
janeway is an admiral's daughter who stormed off after losing a tennis match and dramatically walked home like 5 miles in the rain. you just know that if she got a 98 out of 100 on a project (still solidly an A+!) she would go up after class to argue the two point deduction. she might actually be the class president, but idk if the other kids are happy about it.
chakotay is a sullen, angsty kid who hates his dad, hates his tribe, and just wants to go to junior college and never set foot on the rez again. so many internalized things to unpack. this boy is a mess
Passion Punk™️ tuvok canonically got kicked out of the house for saying that everything his dad believes in fuckin sucks
b'elanna also thinks her culture of origin fuckin sucks. child of ugly divorce, regularly suspended for brawling. she may have gotten sent to klingon religious school to scare her straight at one point? i gotta look that up but i'm pretty sure it happened
like janeway, tom is also an admiral's kid. everyone says he has sooooo much potential but he spends all his time crying in his room and reading jules verne
seven is in a massively abusive cult. this one's not funny at all ☹️
harry is the best adjusted out of everyone. great relationship with his parents, probably has had the same girlfriend since eighth grade (who is also well-adjusted). youth orchestra. early decision to harvard. i typed out "voted most likely to succeed," but that's definitely wrong, because it would be tom out of nepotism or janeway out of grit (and nepotism). if it were a category though, teenage harry would be voted "most likely to just have a nice life."
kes is the smartest kid in her grade but you would never know it because she just hangs out with the hippie kids in the woods behind the school, eating moss off trees and planning to run away from home
all we really know about neelix's pre-war childhood is that he had a huge loving family. i'm extrapolating here from the skills and attitude he has as an adult, but when i transpose this into a modern high school AU, i imagine his parents running the local diner and letting all of neelix's loser friends (see the rest of this list) eat there for free.
the doctor sprang into being as an adult so i'm not sure what to do here. you could argue that he was kind of a canonical teenager in season one, in which case he's that autistic kid who everyone remembers showing up to kindergarten with a briefcase and a full suit, having already memorized A thru G in the world book. somehow you never really see him anywhere except on school grounds. this year's special interest is opera.
vorik is also there.

Once More For the Cheap Seats
Fools Rush In
😘
Um so.... that first one got away from me biiiig time XD XD XD here's your stories:
Once More For the Cheap Seats
(This one went waaaaay off the rails XD)
Romance/Drama, Mexican-American War/Circus AU, Janeway/Chakotay, Tom/Belanna, Past Paris/Janeway. CW: War, abuse, non-con, 1840s US racism/sexism
Tom Paris and Kathryn Janeway were two foolish teenagers in love when they ran away from disapproving and controlling fathers and were recruited int Kashyk's traveling circus. But what seemed a lucky break has turned since to exploitation and misery. Janeway's ballet training is pushed to the limits at nightly shows on the high wire while Tom spends his days wrangling the horses and his nights doing perilous fire juggling routines. Dreams and Teen Romance have long been worn to dust by the daily needs of survival.
After a show down on the border for US Troops, Janeway begins to notice a familiar face appearing nightly in same section of the cheap seats. Rumors spread through the large circus company that an army deserter and an escaped POW are following the circus, using their large company and entourage to hide. So far he's escaped discovery, but for some reason he cant seem to help attending every night, revealing his face only when shes peering down at him from the high wire.
Along the road, Janeway meets the deserter, Chakotay, and the POW he rescued, A woman named B'Elanna who disguised herself as a man in order to join the fighting. Together with Tom, she promises to keep their presence secret. The four of them help each other to survive along the road. And when nearby fighting forces the circus to head north, Chakotay comes to Kathryn with a dangerous proposal. To take a chance and run away with them. A chance at an escape she's long ago stopped dreaming of. Can the four of them make it south to freedom, or will Kashyk, and the front lines, be the end of the road?
Fools Rush In
Character Studies, ST (Various). Janeway, Kirk, Spock, Seven, Chakotay, Dal, Tuvok, anyone else who fits the bill.
A series of vignettes about various Star Trek characters with a penchant for daring decision making defending their choices to critical review boards. Fools, the review boards insist for rushing onto trouble. But is it foolishness or keen insight and the guts to see it through.

I didn’t realize Tuvok recounting Seven how she did a Mutiny with Titan was very sentimental for Tuvok too.
Because until I rewatched Voyager I forgot how many times Baby!Seven
a) ran away from Voyager
b) Nearly Took over Voyager
c) Directly Insubordinate and Mutinous towards Janeway.
It’s like Seven of Nine drew her first breath as an Individual and proceeded to become the most stubborn, angry, mutinous littlest Newly Human ex-Drone.
It’s like all her teen rebellious streak and bloody mindedness was set free the moment she became an Individual.
Also she literally told the Borg Queen: “You’re Borg. Figure it out.”
Tumblr media
Also, this Gem.
And also: “When the Borg Assimilate the Hirogen, Remember Me.”
(Seven looks good in that Black French Resistance —Maquis—covert ops clothes).
This aspect of Seven hasn’t changed tbh.
It must be nostalgic for Tuvok to do a debrief like this. Brings him back to the days when the Voyager crew had a countdown: 120 days since Seven of Nine Almost Succeeded Taking Over Voyager.
