WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD : Toni Wells' First Solo Exhibit at the Leamington Arts Centre, April - June. Opening  Reception & Awards: Thurs April 17, 7-9pm A compilation of paintings, watercolours, and drawings of the natural world with warm and bright layers of colours, textures, and patterns.  Like the song, this show is designed to remind us all that despite the ugliness in this world and our increasingly stressful lives, we need to stop once in awhile to just enjoy the world around us – blue skies, roses, rainbows, the warmth and friendliness of people, and this exhibit.   Toni is a member of The Windsor Arts Council, Artcite Inc., The Arts and Cultural Alliance, The Leamington Arts Centre, and The Area Representational Artists Group in Windsor. THE OLD PINE TREE. This started as a little watercolour sketch done in Hocking Hills, Ohio. Such a majestic old tree deserved a larger visual presence so here it is in all the glory I imagined for it. Measuring 20"w x 40"h, this strong and vibrant painting will add excitement" to any wall. Because of the tall and narrow frame, only a portion fits into this format. My self portrait is coming along. I've started puttng in the foundational colours, aiming for a light and airy piece to match my mood when I took the selfie. First self portrait in many years!
