I just looked up half-orc lifespans and realised how short Jacquimo's life is going to be compared to Astarion's even if we cure the vampirism like god damn my boy is gonna come into his life, treat him with so much love and respect and then rapidly age and die in a fraction of the time it takes an elf to be considered an adult. I have put him with my shortest life character.

What are the fruit flies cadou-induced nightmares like in tptm?

it depends!

Daniela’s are typically of her completely losing herself and harming those she cares for, only to “wake” after she’s harmed them beyond recognition. she has them most often, and it could be of maids she fancied, her family, and she’s even had them of Reader several times

Cassandra’s are typically of being unable to protect those she cares for. she’s left paralyzed as her family or someone else she cares for are torn apart in front of her, and she can’t do anything until the deed is done. sometimes it’s her fault, sometimes it just happens

Bela’s are… a mix of both? in a way? she also has nightmares of losing control and harming someone she loves, but hers never go all the way. she’s left trapped and unable to control her body as she tears into her loved one, but she doesn’t kill them. before she wakes, she’s often completely alone in her mind after her loved one leaves her in fear

(the cadou-induced nightmares are often just their fears come “reality”. they see everything as if it’s true and did happen, and it often leaves them disoriented upon waking)

satoru would grow to be one of those old people who die of heartbreak after you pass away :< not even a full year after your death and he’s following you straight to the grave :<<<

the house is all empty and quiet, he doesn’t do much anymore (he wasn’t anyway with his older age, but even less so now that you’ve died). satoru wakes up in the morning and it takes him a minute to get up before he just sits, stiff and lonely on his side of the bed, staring at his feet and dreading the start of another day. he wishes he could do his morning routine with you again.

he gets something small to eat like cereal because usually you were the one making the pancakes and eggs and sausages (sometimes he would “help”. aka sneak tastes of breakfast until you chased him away with a wooden spoon). he is silent as he eats, staring at your empty chair across from him at the table.

satoru sits quietly in the living room trying to distract himself with movies and tv shows (that you used to watch together. some he will now have to finish without you) and he ends up wasting another day doing nothing but trying not to think of you. at night, he prepares for bed, wishing he could do his nightly routine with you again, too, and then he lays down in a cold bed with a heavy sigh. and satoru cries himself to sleep.

akali isn't deterred by the kisses, as soft as they are and as warm as they make her feel. her heart feels heavy and all she'd really rather do now is turn away and not have this conversation. still, she returns the furrowed look evelynn gives her after a moment.

"don't pardon me. you know what i'm talkin' about. if you meant to keep him a secret, you didn't do a good job of it." courtships were difficult to hide, especially when the rich were involved. it was a period of flaunting anything and everything. she's hurt that evelynn takes a moment to realize just what the farmer's pertaining to, and the feeling of guilt is almost enough to overtake it when she sees how nervous she's made the other feel. almost.

though the urge to reach out is acted on not by her, but evelynn. and all it does is make akali's chest ache as she lets the other touch her, to close the physical and emotional distance between them. "you say that, yet what else am i supposed to think, evelynn? thought we... we were somethin' at the very least. didn't think i'd be that forgettable to you. could've just told me 'stead of pullin' me along for... whatever we've been up to."

"had a nice evenin' yesterday?" akali asks, yet her tone isn't full of affection this time. there's an underlying negative emotion in it—as if she's trying not to sulk over it, but still not quite completely holding it in. "sure looked cozy with whoever that was."

evelynn stalls in her usual greeting ; a kiss to each cheek with furrowed brows. this was completely unlike the akali she's come to know over time, and it leaves a rather uncomfortable feeling brewing in her stomach.

"pardon?" she quips, stepping back with hands that nervously twitch along the sleeves of her dress. far as the blonde is concerned, she'd done nothing wrong to warrant such a tone from the farmer, especially considering their last time together was rather intimate. "je ne comprends pas -- hier?"

her mind begins reeling in a multitude of directions, her heart right alongside it. the realization doesn't hit her until she finally remembers her dreadful night, much to her father's delight.

evelynn is quick to reach out, desperate for some kind of connection to fix this. "ma chérie he is not of your concern, i promise."

isat thoughts: stupid rotten adults isn't talked about enough

y'all can we talk for a minute about stupid rotten adults event because dear god i have thoughts

it's honestly one of the more tragic party interactions in my opinion, purely because in this case... siffrin was trying to do the right thing, or at least what they thought was right. they tried to use touch to comfort them, something that they had heard would help, and had it rebuked. Which isn't bonnie's fault, really. they're a kid going through something that a kid should never have to go through. we don't acknowledge enough how fucked up it is for bonnie to be with the party on their journey, even if it leads to them bonding with the group. so it's not surprising that it could come out like this at an age when kids may not have the words or emotional intelligence to express how they're feeling (lord knows some adults never learn either)

but then.

they hit you with this:

and i remember just full stop going "holy fuck bonnie" when this happened. because holy shit, in the context of everything that siffirn is going through, especially if you already had the dagger interaction... they have. they have done that. over and over again, they've died. This isn't directed at isabeau, who was the one to bring it up in the first place, or mirabelle and odile who answer, it's directed to Siffrin, who lost their eye trying to save them, and who could have died for bonnie but didn't. Bonnie doesn't want to lose any of them, but they lash out because of the stress, and direct it at the person who they hold guilt over.

But from a Siffrin POV... it's similar to the time travel joke with isa. it's just another reminder of the ways in which they've failed, and another nail in the coffin of their misgivings regarding what the party thinks about them. All of the things bonnie says here- that siffrin should die, that nobody cares what happens to them, that they are hated- these are all things echoed in act 5 by siffrin.

so i just have to wonder... how much of this conversation stuck with Siffrin? they can resolve it by completing the quest and reassuring bonnie that nothing will happen, if you've done the king quest then you know... something already has happened. And maybe in a way siffrin sees bonnie's anger towards them as a sort of confirmation that it was their fault, and that Bonnie trusted them to keep them all safe, and he failed.

anyways im sick and this probably is rambling and disconnected im goin to take a nap

actually in addition to this post i think harumasa believes he might not be deserving of love. mainly due to his fears of turning into an ethereal, so he’d have nightmares of you seeing him turn into one. the fear on your face, you always looked at him with love in your eyes but now you were looking at him like he was a monster.

his alarm goes off and he looks to his side, you were peacefully asleep but just shifting slightly because of the alarm. he wonders sometimes why you’re still here, why you’re still with him. he doesn’t like discussing his past in depth but he does feel that one day, he’ll have to explain it all to you. he hopes that he doesn’t have to explain it to you when he’s an ethereal, he hopes you wouldn’t die to his own hands. he hopes you’ll love him until that happens, and that you’ll still continue to love him after too.
