How may tiaras does Anne own
These are the tiaras that she has worn in the past
(Descriptions from The Court Jeweller)
What I think are in her personal collection;
✨ Festoon tiara
This delicate diamond festoon tiara was given to Princess Anne in 1973 when she christened a ship. (Not a bad thank-you present!) It’s intricate and pretty, which made it a perfect wedding tiara for Anne’s daughter-in-law in 2008. Anne still wears it regularly, including an appearance at a Guildhall banquet during the Spanish state visit in July 2017.
✨ Princess Andrew’s Meander Tiara
Princess Anne has been wearing this diamond bandeau, featuring laurel wreaths, anthemions, and a Greek Key (or meander) pattern, since she was a young woman. The tiara originally belonged to her grandmother, Princess Andrew of Greece and Denmark, who had given it to Queen Elizabeth II as a wedding present. The Queen loaned it to Princess Anne for some of her early tiara appearances (including a state visit to Austria in May 1969) before giving her the tiara in 1972. Anne still wears it regularly today, and she also loaned it to her daughter, Zara, as a bridal tiara in 2011.
✨ Aquamarine Pineflower tiara
This Cartier diamond and aquamarine tiara, which has a unique pinecone design theme, was a wedding anniversary gift from King George VI to Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother in the 1940s. In November 1973, the Queen Mother offered it to Princess Anne as a wedding present. She’s been wearing it ever since (including at a state banquet in June 2019), and has even made a few design tweaks along the way.
In the family vault;
✨ Queen Mary’s Fringe Tiara
In November 1973, Princess Anne borrowed Queen Mary’s diamond fringe tiara from her grandmother, the Queen Mother, for her wedding to Mark Phillips. Anne was the second royal bride to wear the tiara after her mother, Queen Elizabeth II (who now owns it). Most recently, it was worn by another family bride: Princess Beatrice of York.
✨ Double Row Meander Tiara
This diamond kokoshnik tiara, made of two rows of Greek Key (or meander) patterns, is a little bit of a mystery. Made in the nineteenth-century, it originally also accommodated an aigrette plume. It belonged to the Queen Mother, but we’ve only seen it worn once by a royal woman: Princess Anne’s outing in the tiara for a state banquet at Buckingham Palace during the Chinese state visit in November 2005.
✨ Cartier Halo Tiara
Like two other members of the royal family — Princess Margaret and the Duchess of Cambridge — Princess Anne’s very first tiara was the delicate scrolling halo tiara made by Cartier for the Queen Mother. The piece was loaned to Anne by her mother, Queen Elizabeth II, and she wore it often in her teen years for events like the State Opening of Parliament (October 1967)
✨ Birthday Portrait Tiara
For her twenty-first birthday, Princess Anne sat for a series of official commemorative portraits. She wore an ice green gown with a diamond scroll tiara and posed in front of a background specially painted by Gordon Davies for the portrait session. The tiara has never been seen on a royal woman before or since, so there’s a general consensus that it was probably a loan. (Why would the Brits borrow a tiara? Hard to know. Perhaps they wanted a specific look?) The images were published in British newspapers in August 1971.
✨ Pearl Bandeau
Princess Anne has also worn one more mystery tiara in recent memory: a gold-hued bandeau, which appears to be set with large pearls. She donned the tiara for a state banquet at Windsor Castle during the Indian state visit in October 2009. We still don’t know anything more about it, including its provenance, and we haven’t seen it in public since.
I would love to see her wear the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara (although she probably won’t now that Cam has 🥲), there is also an absolutely gorgeous tiara called the Teck Tiara that has crescent moons, roses and leaves (I don’t even know if it’s still in the main family anymore) 😍
Please drop your favourite tiaras that you’d love to see Anne wear in the comments 😍
#so sad that she missed the last state banquet 😭😭😭#fingers crossed she can make it to the next one 🥹#no going near horses hooves for the foreseeable please…#princess anne#princess royal

In "How Watson Learned the Trick," my cinnamon roll Dr. Watson runs afoul of "when you hear hoof beats, think horses, not zebras."
Had a potential client shown up unshaven, would Holmes' first thought have been that he had sent his razor to be sharpened, or that he was in grave emotional distress? Sure, for a murder victim, he would have sniffed around the victim's home, looking for a razor next to a shaving mug, or for some sign that the victim had a daily barber visit. But on a quick scan?
More potent than outrage in getting me to say a few words about this week's Letters from Watson is that the story was written to be a miniature book in Queen Mary's Dollhouse.
This was a massive 1920s dollhouse project, planned mostly by George V's cousin to amuse Queen Mary (the former May of Teck). Many, many famous authors contributed a story.
Official site
The library, specifically
Modern books for the library, in honor of the 100th anniversary
The era between the two World Wars had a startling little fad of rich people creating very elaborate dollhouses. Extant ones include:
Colleen Moore's Fairy Castle
Titania's Palace (started earlier, finished in 1922)
The Stettheimer Dollhouse
The Thorne Rooms
If you were part of the right circles, you could round up your famous friends and get them to do miniature versions of their famous works. This history of dollhouses argues that the original purpose of the houses was not to be a toy (which came later) but to be a means of displaying the owners' wealth and taste.
By Holmes' era, dollhouses (or dolls' houses in the UK) were definitely toys for little girls, so the 1920s reversion to using them to show off taste and wealth is notable.

MARRIAGE OF KING HAAKON VII AND QUEEN MAUD OF NORWAY🥺🤍💍
Prince Carl, the second son of then-Crown Prince Frederick of Denmark and Princess Louise of Sweden, was born at the Charlottenlund Palace on August 3, 1872 and was christened Christian Frederik Carl Georg Valdemar Axel. Maud, meanwhile, was the youngest daughter of Albert Edward, Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII) and Princess Alexandra of Denmark. Both Frederick and Alexandra were children of King Christian IX of Denmark.
At a young age, Carl was not expected to become king because he was a second son. So, he built a career in the military, where he served as a naval officer at the Royal Danish Naval Academy in Copenhagen. Maud, meanwhile, was the liveliest of Edward and Alexandra's three daughters. She fell in love with Prince Francis of Teck, the younger brother of her sister-in-law, the future Queen Mary .Francis and Maud exchanged several letters, however, as time passed, it became clear that the love was one-sided as Francis had no interest in Maud.🥲💔
As cousins, Maud and Carl often met, especially during family gatherings. Rumours eventually circulated within the family that the two might get married. Carl proposed during a reunion at Fredensborg Castle and Maud accepted. Their engagement was announced on October 29, 1895. Princess Alexandra was initially hesitant of the engagement because Maud was 3 years older than Carl, She only relented when she realized that Carl would prove to be the right husband for her sea-loving daughter.🌊🤍
The engagement delighted Queen Victoria (Maud's grandmother). According to Queen Victoria's Maid of Honour, news of their engagement “…caused much excitement at Balmoral…and has been the cause of much telegraphing…The Queen is delighted and healths were drunk at dinner.”
The wedding was set on July 22, 1896. The wedding was almost delayed after Prince Henry of Battenberg's untimely death, but it was finally decided that the wedding should go on as scheduled and that Princess Beatrice (Maud's aunt and Prince Henry's wife) and her children would not attend. European royals converged in London for this wedding. Members of both the British and Danish royal families were present, as well as their Greek, German, Russian, and Swedish relatives. The bride wore a simple dress fashioned by Miss Rosalie Whyte of the Royal Female School of Art. It had a long train and was made of pure white English satin which was woven in Spitalfields, a section of London known for its weaving. She wore the Princess of Wales' wedding veil and instead of a tiara, she adored her hair with flowers.
Queen Victoria recorded in her Journal: ‘After the Benediction, Maud came forward to her parents & then to me & I kissed both her & the Bridegroom’.
the famous royal painter LAURITS REGNER TUXEN painted the wedding using the photos taken at the wedding! Queen Victoria gave the painting as a present to Maud's parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales.🥺❤️🩹

First I'll started with Arthur the silver knight
Arthur is a Philips grimwalker so before I explained him I'll need to explain how Philip died in this au and also what leads to his creation. So it started when Caleb and Philip were having their fight, but before he stabbed Caleb he had a realization and froze but it wasn't quick enough cause Caleb stab him in the back ( literally) though the heart. (Note that most of this is by accident. ) But when he dies he was smiling saying he finally saw his Rosie again then dies.( Yes Rosie is in this) then everything froze and a goddess came and cursed Philip bones. ( The goddess is name Tatiana I'll explain her later but she is very important to Rosie lore) Caleb not mentally ok tryed to have a normal life that was until Evelyn was killed by " humans" leaving him to raise their son. This was the start to spiral to madness and started his plan to end humanity. For this au I'm debating to call Caleb emperor Dionysus, cause a big theme with Dionysus is madness. ( Or because he's my favorite Greek god) so you know that human and human things are ilegal. ( I'll probably explain Caleb later)
Now for the mane event. Arthur is called the sliver Knight, he's 25 so hes older then Hunter but become the sliver Knight around the same age as hunter. he has same curses as Philip. Arthur is mostly a chill dude but he takes his job as the sliver Knight very serious but he refuses to harm children. There are even times that he'll help Eda and Luz. Like Philip he is very smart and likes to billd things, he made his sword that has gliphs that terns into a teck staf. He likes rock you see him listening to all kinds of rock when he is tinkering on something. He keeps flapjack and Athena hidden in his room or his secret lab underneath the castle. He has a soft spot for kids, there are times you see him playing with kid in this silver knight armor.( He also humers king)
Growing up Arthur was place in the cere of Lilith, Lilith job was to take care and protect Arthur. ( She was basically his nanny but with extra steps) Lilith was first standoffish ( is that even a word) to the boy she thought it was a waste of her skills, but eventually she grew to love the Arthur like a son. Arthur started to call Lilith mom. They were inseparable, were Lilith went Arthur went with her too. That was until Lilith was purified when Arthur was 9. Arthur turn to full monster for the first time and when on a rampage. You see Arthur eyes weren't always blue it was maroon color like hunter but change when his cares came full control, turning his eyes blue.
His relationship with his uncle is complicated. There were times when he was a kid that his uncle will give him the most loving person ever. Sometimes he'll ignore his existence. Other time he'll give him a look of disappointment or of regrets.
Whale hunter has Darius, Arthur as Alador. I haven't figured out how the meat yet. He and Luz acted like an adult older brother and a kid little sister. Arthur well bet up eneone that break Luz heart. He also gave a loving relationship with flapjack and Athena. He also had a secret lover name Rose ( she just Rosie reincarnated) cause silver knight can't have lover's.
I basically wanted hunter to have a cool older brother that like rock.
-----------------
Here is bonus art if hunter meets Author. Btw I'm calling this au sliver Knight au

Meghan Markle's wedding tiara
One of the perks of being the granddaughter of the British Queen is that you can wear a sparkling wedding tiara. The Duchess of Sussex wore the Queen Mary Bandeau Tiara, which was given to Queen Mary by the County of Lincoln in 1893. Queen Mary's Diamond Bandeau Tiara
The bride's jewels are a must for a royal wedding. Meghan Markle chose to wear the Queen Mary Diamond Bandeau Tiara for her big day. The classic Art Deco tiara was a big hit with fans, who saw it as an appropriate complement to the stunning Givenchy Haute Couture by Claire Waight Keller gown.
According to a book written by royal expert Omid Schobie, Meghan did not get her first choice for tiara on her wedding day. She was reportedly rejected for an emerald-colored tiara in the Queen's collection. Meghan Markle wedding tiara
The tiara, designed by Garrard, was made in 1932 for Princess Mary of Teck, Meghan's grandmother, who married Prince George, Duke York, later King George V. The center brooch was a gift from the County Lincoln to Princess Mary, and was given to her upon her marriage. The Story of the Tiara
Meghan Markle wore the Queen Mary's Bandeau Tiara on loan to Her Majesty when she married Prince Harry in 2018. The diamond piece, which was originally owned by Queen Mary's great-grandmother, is centered by an 1893 brooch. Meghan described her tiara-choosing day as "surreal" in an audio recording made for a Windsor Castle exhibit.
The Duchess' 16 foot-long silk veil included flora from each of the 53 Commonwealth countries, as well as two personal favorites - wintersweet (Chimonanthus Praecox), a flower that grows in front Kensington Palace at Nottingham Cottage, and California poppy Eschscholzia Californica, the state flower of her home.
The final look was stunning, and showed off Meghan's elegance. What's the story behind how Meghan chose her tiara, and why did she do so? According to a royal expert and a new book, there was drama around the process. Prince Harry was reportedly forced to intervene in the dispute between Meghan and Angela Kelly, the Queen's dresser. How the Tiara came to Meghan
Meghan Markle's big day was a memorable one, but it might have been even more so if there hadn't been a disagreement about her bridal headpiece. According to Robert Lacey of the Royal Historian, Markle wanted an emerald encrusted tiara for her wedding day, but Queen Elizabeth refused.
Lacey said that the former monarch was worried that the tiara could be associated with the Russian Revolution because it had been passed through "dodgy" channels. He also thought that Meghan wouldn't look good wearing the tiara at her wedding, as it would distract her from her role as the wife of Prince Harry.
The palace denied the claims and it appears that the Queen Mary Tiara was the one that Markle wore. Princess Eugenie chose a Greville Emerald Kokoshnik tiara for her wedding six months after Meghan, and the tiara has a clear history. The Final Look
Markle chose to finish her Givenchy wedding dress and 16-foot silk veil with the dazzling Diamond Bandeau Tiara of Queen Mary. The piece, which is made up of 11 flexible sections with interlaced ovals and was worn by Princess Margaret, was borrowed by Meghan to wear on her wedding day.
According to a book, Harry claims he and Angela Kelly, the Queen's dresser had a little argument over which tiara Meghan could borrow for her wedding. Harry claims that while the Queen offered a tiara to her daughter-in law with a Lincolnshire link, Kelly refused to lend it to her before her hair trial.
The Queen finally gave in and let Meghan borrow the heritage art-deco tiara that she paired with a stunning floral veil. The Duchess opened up in an audio recording of a royal exhibit that opens on Friday at Windsor Castle about her tiara-shopping experience.

VICTOR: The Vampire Heir PT.3
As the news spread of the Prince’s recovery and that the wedding will go ahead as scheduled. The Socialist League, an anarchist group campaigned against the cost of the wedding, putting up posters which stated: The London Anarchists will hold an indignation meeting Tuesday February 2nd, in Hyde Park, at half-past-three, to protest against the waste of wealth upon these Royal Vermin, while the workers are dying of hunger and overwork. Fellow workers, prepare for the Revolution. Remember- He who would be free himself must strike the blow. Down with Flunkeyism. Thomas Cantwell and Ernest Young, members of the group, were caught flyposting and were arrested and held in prison. Their offices were searched, but the case was ultimately dismissed.
The Prince and Princess Mary of Teck were married at 1:00 on February 27 at the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace. Their wedding was the first Royal wedding to take place in St James’ Chapel since the death of Prince Albert in 1861, which plunged Queen Victoria into deep mourning. Most of Albert and Victoria’s own children were married in St George’ Chapel, Windsor Castle, in relative seclusion.
On the morning of their wedding, Albert accidentally caught sight of his fiancée down a long corridor of Buckingham Palace; stunned by her Beauty, she turned around and saw him staring, she gave him a smile, he proceeded to make a low and courtly bow, a gesture she never forgot. This was the first public royal wedding in 31 years that drew large numbers of spectators, many of whom gathered in the route from Buckingham Palace to St James’s Palace to give the couple an enthusiastic reception. Mary greeted the crowds’ applause with her smile and a nervous gesture of her white gloved right hand.
The Archbishop of Canterbury performed the ceremony, and was assisted by the Bishop of London, the Bishop of Rochester, and five other prelates. Albert and Mary then proceeded to Buckingham Palace, where Queen Victoria made a rare public appearance on the balcony along with the Duke and Duchess. The marriage register was signed by the Queen, the prime minister, and all other royal personages present.
Upon their marriage, Mary became styled as Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Clarence and Avondale. They spent their honeymoon at Sandringham, the Prince of Wales' estate in Norfolk, before going to Osborne House to stay with the Queen. After staying with Queen Victoria they went to Romania and stayed with Ferdinand l at Peles Castle. That’s where Albert learned about Vampires in the family. There’s a whole council called the the Great Council of Dragons which they handle descendants of Vlad III and watch the ones that are born as a vampire because the Vampire gene does skip generations. In Mary’s case it didn’t because both her and her father caught it.
Mary and the council members explained everything to Albert. Every legitimate family member is descended from Vlad’s three sons: Mihnea the Evil Radu of Wallachia, and Vlad Drakwla. Vampires can turn any human to a vampire but the only ones that are welcome in their world are: They have to be descendants from the Three sons, be born legitimate(no bastards), born with the Vamp gene(not turned)or married into the family by a pure blood(legitimate family member)
The Head of the council is Finn Bruce the hand of Queen Stefania who is 59 years old but looks as young as 20. Vampires aren’t immortal but they do have long lifespans. They are Sensitive to the sun and can die, that’s why they wear special jewelry made by Blood Witches. And they feed on human blood but some feed on the blood of animals.
Albert knew something was up so he asked them what their plan was. They want to conquer and want Vampires to become the superior race from everyone including humans, witches, demons, half-breeds. They explained that they are planning on turning people into vampires but not just anyone, the ones that they deemed as important ie, Royals like themselves, Presidents and anyone who has power and authority. They want to eliminate the bastards, the ones that were turned without connection to the Blood of Vlad. They stated how Princess Elvira is working with the Hunter’s Unit to kill the shifters(Vampire’s that turn into bat like monsters) Queen Stefania is the one that’s creates them because she’s half fae so her and Princess Elvira are the only ones that can turn a human into a a shifter.
They further explained that the sisters are at odds and heard that Princess Elvira is planning on killing Queen Stefania, but they are loyal to the Queen. The shifters that the Queen is creating are going to be soldiers of the crown. The Queen is currently traveling around.

Of course, the great event of next week is the Royal wedding, the first celebrated at St. George's Chapel, Windsor, since the somewhat ill-fated marriage of Princess Christian's pretty and accomplished daughter, Princess Louise of Schleswig-Holstein, to Prince Aribert of Anhalt. Princess Alice of Albany is said to have selected the place where she is to become Princess Alexander of Teck on account of the fact that her much-loved parents were married there, and because she herself has such intimate and affectionate associations with Windsor Castle. On the occasion of the last Royal wedding there, the German Emperor and Empress – each of them a first cousin of the bride – were present, and on this occasion their Majesties guests will include a Crowned Head and his Consort – the King and Queen of Wurtemberg, whose connection with the royal bride is somewhat complicated, as the King is only her uncle owing to the fact that his first wife was her mother's sister.
As this is be essentially a “young” wedding by far the prettiest sight of all will be the two little bridesmaids, the “two Marys” the only daughter of the Prince and Princess of Wales and the only daughter of the Duke of Teck. All five are to wear blue and silver costumes and wreaths of forget-me-nots – a scheme of colouring singularly becoming to the two Princesses of Connaught. Prince Alexander will be supported by his brother, Prince Francis, as best man, and though the bride will be given away by the King, she will also have a supporter in the person of her brother, the Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.
Princess Alice has received an extraordinary number of presents of a useful kind. She seems to have allowed it to become known that she does not wish to add greatly to her stock of jewels, and this would be indeed, unnecessary, as the bridegroom already possesses some very fine jewels, which belonged to his mother, and which he will, of course, give to his wife. The King and Queen set the example of giving the young couple a useful gift, their present being a fine service of silver plate – of more actual use than would appear at first sight, for even the most unostentatious of Royal persons is not unfrequently called upon to give a banquet. The engagement ring is a sapphire surrounded by fine diamonds and one fo the first and most appreciated gifts received by the bride-elect was a charming minature of her fiancé, painted to the order of the Duchess of Albany. As the Prince does not intend to give up his profession on his marriage, it is probably that the Princess will find herself quartered in South Africa ere long. It is said that she regards the prospect with great pleasure, though the thought must fill her mother, who has been so devoted to Princess Alice from infancy, with a good deal of apprehension.
Prince and Princess Alexander of Teck will begin their married life at Brocket Hall, and it is a sign of the times that a Royal couple should honeymoon in a mansion lent to them by one who began life as a herd boy in Scotland! But Lord Mount-Stephen is one of the most splendid and estimable members of the Upper House, and many will think that it is he who is conferring an honour on the young couple. Brocket Hall has many historic associations. It was a favourite home of two great statesmen, Lord Melbourne and Lord Palmerston, and Queen Victoria, not long after her marriage, spent there a few days, a splendid lunch being served in her honour in the Ball Room. Brocket is a fine, comfortable old house with a most delightful garden and park, through which meanders the River Lea. The Prince and Princess of Wales have stayed there.
The King has decided to hold a Chapter of the Order of the Garter on the eve of the Royal wedding. The ceremonial will take place in the Throne Room, and a unique feature will be the presence of our popular Queen as the one Lady of the Garter. The oldest member of the Order, the venerable Duke of Cambridge, will not, it is feared, be well enough to be present. After the Chapter, the King will entertain the Knights at a great banquet in St. George's Hall.

ADOLPHUS CAMBRIDGE
1st Marquess of Cambridge
(born 1868 - died 1927)
picured above is a portrait of the Duke of Teck, painted by Fülöp de László in 1906
-------------------- ~ -------------------- ~ --------------------
ADOLPHUS CHARLES ALEXANDER ALBERT EDWARD GEORGE PHILIP LOUIS LADISLAUS was born in 1868, at Kensington Palace in London.
At the time of his birth, the Bristish Monarch was Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom, a first cousin of his mother.
He was the eldest son of Franz, Duke of Teck, and Princess Mary Adelaide of Cambridge. Thereby, he was member of a morganatic branch of the House of Württemberg, the TECK branch, and was from birth a PRINCE OF TECK.
His mother was a British Princess and besides his paternal German roots, his family lived in the United Kingdom because of financial advantages, given that his mother had been granted apartments in London and received an annuity fom the British Parliament.
So, although he was of German descent, he was raised as British and in 1888, at the age of 19, entered the service of the Royal Army, serving in the regiment of his uncle George, Duke of Cambridge.
He married LADY MARGARET EVELYN GROSVENOR in 1894, the youngest daughter of Hugh Grosvenor, 1st Duke of Westminster, and the late Lady Constance Sutherland-Leveson-Gower. He was 26, and she was 20 years old. With her, he had four children.
Check a list of his children at the end of this post!
When his father died in early 1900, he was 31 and succeeded him as DUKE OF TECK, a title in the Kingdom of Württemberg.
In the first decade of the 1900s, the United Kingdom had three Monarchs: Queen Victoria who died in 1901; King Edward VII who died in 1910; and King George V, who was married to his sister Princess Mary of Teck.
By 1914, his brother-in-law King George V made him Governor and Constable of Windsor Castle.
Between 1914-16, he resumed his Army career to fight in World War I, but his health forced him to retire early.
During the War, due to heavy anti-German feelings in the United Kingdom, in 1917, the King renounced German titles held by him and all other descendants of Queen Victoria. And also changed the name of the Royal Family from House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha to House of Windsor.
This decision also affected other Royals of German origins, such as the Teck family, even though his family did not descend from Queen Victoria. So, following the proclamation, he, as the Head of the Teck family, relinquished the title of Duke of Teck and the Princely titles of his relatives.
And, in agreement with his brother and the approval of the King, his family renounced the Teck surname adopting CAMBRIDGE, in honour of his grandfather, the late Adolphus, Duke of Cambridge.
Having assumed the name SIR ADOLPHUS CAMBRIDGE, he was untitled for a couple of months until the King officially created him as MARQUESS OF CAMBRIDGE, EARL OF ELTHAM, and VISCOUNT NORTHALLERTON by the end of 1917. At that time, he was 49 years old.
After the War ended, he settled in the English countryside with his wife.
The Marquess of Cambridge died in 1927, aged 59 in Shrewsbury, England.

On his death, he was succeded as Marquess of Cambridge and on his other British titles by his eldest son, Lord George.
However, because his sons and nephew did not have male heirs, the Teck/Cambridge family became extinct in the male line by 1981.

Prince George was born on 20 December 1902 at York Cottage on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, England.[1] His father was the Prince of Wales (later King George V), the only surviving son of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra.
His mother was the Princess of Wales (later Queen Mary), the only daughter and eldest child of the Duke and Duchess of Teck. At the time of his birth, he was fifth in the line of succession to the throne, behind his father and three older brothers Edward, Albert and Henry.
George was baptised in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle on 26 January 1903 by Francis Paget, Bishop of Oxford. Prince George, Duke of Kent died August 29, 1942 in a plane crash in Scotland. He is currently buried at Royal Burial Ground, Frogmore
Princess Marina was born on 13 December 1906 in Athens, Greece, during the reign of her paternal grandfather, King George I. She was the third and youngest daughter of Prince Nicholas of Greece and Denmark, and his wife Grand Duchess Elena Vladimirovna of Russia. Her father was the third son of King George I and Queen Olga of Greece, while her mother was the only daughter of Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich and Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna of Russia. Her father was a grandson of King Christian IX of Denmark, while her mother was a granddaughter of Emperor Alexander II of Russia.
The wedding of Prince George, Duke of Kent, and Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark took place on Thursday, 29 November 1934 at Westminster Abbey. Notice a young Princess Elizabeth, later Queen Elizabeth II was in the wedding party. The Duke of Kent was the fourth son of King George V and Princess Mary of Teck, while Princess Marina was the youngest daughter of Prince Nicholas of Greece and Denmark and Grand Duchess Elena Vladimirovna of Russia. The couple were second cousins through mutual descent from King Christian IX of Denmark. As Princess Marinas's cousin, Prince Philip, renounced his Greek and Danish titles prior to marrying Prince George's niece, then Princess Elizabeth, this is the most recent example of a marriage between a British prince or princess and a titled member of a foreign dynasty.
Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent was first cousins with Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
