Naknicromo day 9 Technique Tuesday

Probably my favorite stitching technique is cabling. It's one I keep coming back to because of the finished effects. I've fiddled around with color work and I've finished some lace projects, but cables are my favorite for sure.

Day 15: Dream project

My dream project? Not so much a project as just a dream to work towards. I want to fill my home with cozy, handmade, patched-up, well-loved, well-traveled things. Also plants. Because I'm a crazy plant lady with cats.

Day 16: Least favorite

I don't like doing color work. I've tried some color work. It's even turned out fairly well... Except for a throw blanket that has been in a bag in my closet since about Christmas of 2019. I got frustrated with it and gave up. Maybe I'll go back to it someday.

Day: 17 WIP Wednesday

I haven't done any knitting at all this week. I have been busy doing some other stuff though. Working on putting some wallpaper on the cabinets in my kitchen, and also starting a slow stitch embroidery project as well as organizing my embroidery floss.

Day 18: First Tools

Much like previous posts for throwback Thursday I don't have the first tools I ever used. I remember what they were though. I learn to crochet on a G hook, it was a dark teal-green color. My first pair of actual knitting needles (that weren't pencils) were a mismatched pair of Susan Bates US size 7. One was green and the other was pink. I still to this day suggest to people who are first learning to practice on mismatched color needles because it helped me keep track of what row I was on!

Day 19: Tools

My favorite knitting needles to use are wood. I don't like straits much, but I do use circular and double pointed needles for projects that call for straits. I also have some really pretty stitch markers that I made myself!

Paisleys for Dad~ It was fun to pull out these stamps and play with them. They were given to me when I first started out by a very sweet friend. I love that several of the stamps and papers I use came to me from others.
