The affinity mapping helped us better understand where we were headed. From there, we collaborated as a team on a couple more things - two of which are pictured here: The components diagram and the very first, and earliest visions of persona profiles. The components diagram was putting together the features we saw emerging from the affinity mapping based on a scale of complexity and time. This allowed us to see what were “quick wins” and “MVP players” for our prototype. The persona profiles were Andee’s understanding of the types of recreational users and their goals in the drones ecosystem. These emerged from user testing and the various interviews that were collected. If you’d like to hear more in-depth on this, let us know! (Fatima)

Video Experimentation - 30/10
tried to do videos of different professions - so bad on so many levels...
I hate that you can tell I’m acting although the lip edit looks hilarious which would achieve the idea of making a joke about the whole agenda of senior school and choosing professions and university degrees
how can i portray the feeling of being trapped and controlled by the opinions of others

Tips for Macro Shooting
use live view to view subject better
use a tripod for stability
choose a larger aperture (small number) to get a shallow depth of field

Image: Weekly Group Meeting (Kothoefer, 2017).
Today we had our third group meeting for our term project. The group members presented their research and development steps about different subjects. We then discussed what kind of research information we include to our main project idea. We also formed a framework around our idea what will be presented to our tutor tomorrow to get more feedback.
My general research was about all the electronic components that are possible to include into material. I found quite a lot and presented it through videos from youtube and articles from different websites. After a discussion what we will include in our idea, we then formed topics, which needs more detailed research. Therefore I am going to have a look on micro GPS sensors. Researching different topics is something what I really like to do so you can imagine that you will see a lot of technical research at this blog..
After just 3 weeks of working together I need to say that the communication and interaction between my group works good. Everyone listens to the member who is talking, explaining and presenting. It also makes me feel really relaxed and comfortable as an international student that nobody is ashamed to ask “dumb” questions. Through that we created an efficient and good feeling environment.

Displaying the images
Display of images
As seen in Traianos’s work, his use of spacing is very important when finalising his artwork. Although most of his images were spaced out, possibly because of a filter found on Instagram or other editing mobile apps, it was important to understanding that mostly this was JUST for presentation…there may not be a conceptual idea behind the spacing of his images.
However, I really wanted to incorporate spacing into the presentation of my work. Overall, I printed off 16 images, all 10cm in height. As much as I wanted the sequence to be random, I also wanted to keep some geometric integrity so it looked appealing to look at…not just a mess of image with no structure.
I think spacing my images like this was important but it symbolised the disconnection between someone’s sense of self. Mental illness can take on maybe shapes and forms, different personalities and reactions and therefore, people who suffer from Dissociation may feel lost inside their body or feel like their body isn’t real. I wanted my images to be lost but somehow connected, that’s why some of the images are clustered together and others are far apart. It’s a random and unpredictable much like how mental illnesses of any kind can affect people.
Setting out the images on a canvas.
Initially, I wanted to images to levitate from the wall. The reason I kept a white border around all the images was because I was going to press dress making pins (very thin, long, silver pins) into each corner of an image, have them half way pinned into the wall and then push the image forwards so it’s not touching the wall but almost looking like it’s floating.
However, there wasn’t enough pins (16x4 = 64 pins) so instead, I used masking tape, rolled it up so it stuck to the back of the image and to the wall so it imitate levitation. Creating a small shadow behind it.
Again, the presentation of these images were what was most important to me. I want to images to float because they were detached, another interpretation of Dissociation.

Printed Final Proofs
happy with quality of colour but would of liked background mirrored image to be more noticeable
despite achieving 3D affect on computer, cyan anaglyph is weakest of the three as it doesn’t look as 3D
would print again with adjustments but cost of prints is an issue
will provide one pair of 3D glasses for display - want to keep exhibiting space aesthetically pleasing

Technical Research - Cinematic Sound
This is an article looking at what steps and effects professionals use to improve the sound of audio in films for cinema. It looks at compression, EQ, Reverb, and gain. I found it very useful when editing and mixing my own sound.
