AUDITION PART I : ARRIVAL

Seoul Arts High School June 13, 2019 Outfit

“ No one knows what changes lie ahead ”

When he was in this situation last year, he never thought that he’d have to go through it all once again just one year later. In his dreams and would-have-beens, the MGAs had turned him into a trainee already: or who knew, maybe even an upstart idol like some of his fellow contestants from last year, but being stuck here, still the same old him, still the same old nothing left an incredibly bitter taste in Eric’s mouth.

Certainly he had changed since then. He was older, perhaps even more reasonable although some might disagree with that, and it was a lie to say that he entirely hadn’t made any progress, for he had landed a model contract although he was still learning the ways. But that wasn’t Eric’s true goal. 

Despite everything he still wanted the rush of adrenaline from standing on stage before countless of fans shouting his name, singing along to the songs and fanchants, to perform, to exist. It had taken a while, but he had by now become pretty certain of his goal in life: to exist as Eric Sohn and not just as a proxy of his brother.

That morning Dowoon had pulled him out of bed almost crying at him, spouting words that Eric’s tired mind hadn’t properly caught until he realised that he’d forgotten to change the clock from its usual wake-up call for school. With adrenaline pumping in his veins, he had finally made it into his clothes and -- despite his mother’s great complaints -- skipped breakfast just in case (he’d managed to take care of his weight, but he didn’t want any nasty surprises when he stepped onto the scale today) before making it out the door. To his surprise Dowoon insisted on taking the bus that went nowhere near where he had to go for training to join Eric, and the squeeze he got upon having to leave seemed tighter than usual.

Stepping out at a school that wasn’t his own felt weird, and even weirder was it to have to take time off from school on a Thursday. He supposed that was just the name of the game though -- they couldn’t very well do it in weekends because weekends was the time everyone was off and that meant everyone involved in it had to be off too so it made complete sense.

Despite himself Eric hadn’t put on any makeup today, for he figured it probably wasn’t appreciated when they had professionals to apply it. The chill of morning was still strong, but it was promised to be another hot day, not too surprisingly considering it was already summer. Eric was however counting on the fact that he’d supposedly be indoors all day in his clothes choice, but if it became too hot, he could always simply ditch his shirt and settle for the t-shirt he wore underneath. It was perfect. He was totally considerate of every little detail.

Arriving at the counter he got his name settled, and it took every ounce of self control he possessed not to call himself Eric. While it was his preferred name and had been for a while now, it still wasn’t his legal name, and he doubted they would appreciate much something that was technically a nickname. For a moment as he donned his ‘Sohn Youngjae’ name tag Eric felt proud of himself for being able to control himself even if it was in such a small instance. He hadn’t given in to his urges. He was growing up.

There was also another thing he wished to change from last time around. Although it was a minor thing that no one had probably paid any attention to, he wasn’t intending to fall asleep this time no matter how tempting the thought was. He was tired, no doubt about that, but this time he was going to force himself to stay awake for the entire thing. Following suit, there didn’t seem to be any time to doze off either, and Eric was directed to the hall where he had to have his measurements taken. He already was very familiar with them, for his mother had helped him in order to fill in the application form, and that was also when he discovered that he had grown if only by a bit. It had been a moment of pride for Eric after his height had been quite stuck for a while following his growth spurt.

The height measurements confirmed what he already knew and when he stepped up on the scale Eric sighed in relief as nothing had changed there either. Skipping breakfast had been the right decision! With the anticipation building up in his stomach, the teen was ready to take on the next challenge of this year. Hopefully this would finally be his time to shine.

Honey and Lemon or Milk and Sugar  (Neither, I´m really trying hard to just drink my teas without anything added)  Musicals or Plays (On another day it surely would be plays, but the thing is a really really really good musical is kind of more fun than a play but overall I love more plays than musicals, turns out I´m really picky with the singing in musicals (especially in german it quite often sounds just really odd and off to my ears) and I´m a sucker of good dialogue #wannabecardassian and plays just deliver more of them.. usually)  Lemonade or Iced Tea (Just what kind of iced tea is this about .....  ) Strawberries or Raspberries (because Idk strawberries are a cliche sometimes ) Pandas or Koalas (yeah I´m cheating on this grey, white, black fluff .. all good) Beaches or Forests (really depends on what kind of beach or forest but I´m in a I wanna smell salty air mood)  Planets or Constellations (Planets all the way, Pluto! Saturn! Mars!) Pastels or Neons (Tacky pastels are more bearable than tacky neons .. )  Diners or Cafes (I´m not sure if I´ve ever been to the kind of diner that would be relevant here but I know there´s some really pretty cafes with a hellload of history .. soooo .. but I don´t feel like I really fit nor thrive in Kaffeehauskultur but it´s nice for a visit  )  Unicorns or Dragons (I don´t even know why but I just feel I´d feel more comfortable with dragons )  Gemstones or Crystals (Gemstones being shaped crystals? pfffff Idk)  Hummingbirds or Owls (feathermatters are like fluffmatters but I´m slightly leaning towards Owls .. )  Fireworks or Sparklers (Okay a colourful Booom vs a tiny fizzzle .. like they are cute n stuff buuuuut .. also people are so reckless with sparklers, sometimes I wonder that no hairs or clothing catch fire .. and with pyro you at least got the illusion that it´s handled by people that know what they do .. also Insert MalcolmReedGif here .. )  Sunflowers or Hydrangeas (because ehh .. ) Brunch or Happy Hour (I overeat so much more than I drink a lot so I´d get more out of fooood )  Sweet or Sour OR SALTY (okay now there is a salty option ..... there should have always been one) Rome or Amsterdam  (historyboner .. that one was easy .. )  Classic or Modern Art (I´m gonna assume classic just means everything else than modern art in this context and then it wins by sheer volumes buuut also daaaam so many great artists ... this really isn´t hard to pick .. also technically if you wait long enough now modern art would be part of no contemporary art .. )  Sushi or Ramen (Fooood) Sun or Moon Polka Dots or Stripes (oh idk dots are cute but also TimBurton .. I think I lean more towards stripes but I´m not crazy about either) Macarons or Croissants (Still havent eaten macarons, they also still don´t appeal to me and daaaaaaamn croissants .. sooo tasty.) Glitter or Matte (Great Matte is awesome.. but I think glitter reaches awesome stage more easily although not as high as the best use of matte)  Aquariums or Planetariums (They are great, animals are always awesome and so far it´s been the if you don´t know what to do with someone or what to talk go there) Road Trip or Camping Trip (Camping is exhausing, someone pls transfer me in the SupernaturalUniverse, also that nice flow while driving along an empty road is awesome)  Coloring Book or Watercolors (Shouldn´t that be Ink or something like that and watercolours .. )  Fairy Lights or Candles (Candles feel more .. idk .. “real/magic” but fire safety issues stress me out sometimes ^^ )

This mostly depends on someone else, but I have an incomplete tattoo that needs to be finished. It can wait, though, looks good enough :3

5 things people may not know about me:

I have chronic social anxiety and will probably keep any dumb thing I said to you rolling in my brain for months :) it kinda kills me inside when it´s always me the one who start conversations, too.

I adore piercings and tattoos and I have many of both, but I can´t really get any piercing I want because no matter how well I take care of them, 1 of 2 ends up infected. I have no idea why. I would love to get me a septum and redo the belly button piercing.

I dont like dogs. I will, however, play and be the best friend of your dog if you invite me over. And I expect the same from people who come over to my place and don´t like cats. Be nice to my bebes

I hate alcohol. I can´t even take one sip. Only thing I managed to drink was probably cider.

I walk everywhere unless it´s like over 5 km away, and I get really distressed if I don´t leave the house at least once a day, even if it´s just to go to the corner store or stretch my legs.
