Have you ever read something that hit your heart like a freight train? Have you looked at the stars and felt an unexplainable joy? Have you ever baked bread? Have you shared a meal with a friend? Have you not seen it? All the love? All the good? I know it’s hard to see sometimes, I know there’s pain everywhere. But look, there’s a child helping another up after a hard fall. Look, there’s someone giving their umbrella to a stranger. Look, there’s someone admiring the spring flowers. Look, there’s good, there’s good, there’s good. Look!!!!

It’s not that I don’t support Tech/Phee; their relationship is a happy, unexpected development that I am enjoying.

Canonically, I want Tech - and all clones - to be happy. Whether its a relationship, a sanctuary, a full stomach, fighting in the rebellion, whatever/etc…

I’m just a little apprehensive about the Tech/Phee relationship because Tech is one of my comfort characters. I feel a little awkward now having self-inserts and/or OC fanfics/HCs/fantasies/daydreams because he has a canon relationship.

IMO when a character has a canon relationship, I identify that they are taken - unless it’s a shitty relationship, then I just scribble my way in.

But if a character is canonically single, I’m like “Free real estate!” and off my imagination goes without having a weird, under current of guilt that I’m “taking” a character out of a relationship.

Tech has been such a delight to see evolve and grow since we first met him. And I hope the Tech/Phee relationship goes strong, but I am a little sad to “lose” a comfort character. I created a lot of fantasies/daydreams about the guy to get me through my days - a healthy coping mechanism.

Although I will still daydream about our favorite nerdy, adrenaline junky, the tone has changed now that the Tech/Phee relationship is growing.

I will fondly watch him and the others, whatever the story may evolve into, glad to be a witness of how it will turn out and grateful for the comfort he and the others have given me. And hope to continue to give. And I hope Tech and the others find what they are looking for.

Also, let’s all admit that we want a love interest to look at us like this

it’s hard to summarise just what this show means to me. it’s brought me endless joy and inspiration, as well as introduced me to some of my closest friends. it will forever hold a very, very special place in my heart.
