Being gay is the greatest

An observation that I have made is that gay couples (and specifically lesbians in my personal and tiny experience) have the most supportive, functional and incredible relationships. Obviously this is a generalisation but of all of the couples I know, all of the homosexual couples are so kind to each other, they speak nicely and are so happy to do sweet things for the other one. We also have far more obvious heart eyes and I think that is so important.

There tend not to be rigid and toxic gender roles, each person just lives their best life and gets no flak for doing it.

Same sex weddings are also just the best. Both people want to walk down the aisle? Fine. Both people want to wear dresses? No problem? Actually no we will both wear suits? Done. You also don't have to have a best man or maid of honour because what if your bestie is the opposite sex from you or is agender or wants to wear whatever makes them happy? You make your own rules for everything and everyone is happy.

The bottom line here is that for most people who identify as anything other than straight and cis gender (and again this is a generalisation) we have been treated badly because of who we are so why would we want to be with someone who doesn't love us for who we are and want to nurture and support that for all of time. This should be how everyone is. Be kind to one another (thanks Ellen) because we are all beautiful souls on our own journey.

Murphy and Bellamy are the first two that Clarke turns to. Murphy because he encourages her to go a little crazy and get Lexa out of her system and Bellamy because he lets her talk through her heartbreak and actually gives her advice. 

Bellamy and Lexa have never exactly gotten along but Bellamy really thinks that the girls are good for each other, in fact when he’s telling people about strong relationships and thinks about what he wants; he thinks of Clarke and Lexa. He spends many a night at the other end of the phone reassuring Clarke that he’ll stand by whatever decision she makes but if it really hurts that much then maybe she needs to rethink the break up.

Murphy on the other hand gives it to Clarke straight. He tells her he thinks she’s an idiot and lets her drink a percentage of her weight in cheap beer and then helps her soak it up with nachos. He’s been with Emori a little longer than Clarke has been with Lexa and he’s kind of smug because they’ve never broken up. But Murphy is forever #teamclarke and he always cheers her on, even if he thinks she made a dumb decison.

Raven adores both Lexa and Clarke, she gets a kick out of their relationship and is a big supporter. She may have once gotten them a mug for Christmas with ‘Clexa Captain’ on it. She’s the one who watches the bad movies and eats the ice-cream and wakes Clarke up with phonecalls so she gets to class on time. When Clarke says that her and Lexa are back together Raven might (maybe) shed a tear but she hides it very well.

Clarke doesn’t always see it because she worries she might be annoying them but she has an amazing support system.

Sanctum spoilers: who’s on #team clarke

I’m actually putting my response here, because it’s about antis, not the spoilers, but I’ll put your ask below the cut, since it reveals some.

Antis are usually wrong, tbh. If they make valid points, I don’t usually consider them antis, unless they are insulting when they do it. And then they’re just breaking my inbox rules and being jerks and i don’t want to talk to them.

But the problem with being an anti/stan is that it is a BIAS. 

If you refuse to see your fave as anything but perfect, you will be IGNORING canon, especially in a show like this which is ENTIRELY about people being imperfect and morally compromised. If you refuse to see anything good in the character you hate, you similarly will be ignoring their good qualities AND their place in the story, because this show is ALSO about how the enemy is like ourselves and about the possibility of redemption.

So either way, the stan/anti mindset is very harmful to any sort of deep analysis. 

When they are antis of ME personally (I mean, aside from being someone they can just ignore because I am as irrelevant to them as they are to me,) they just pick and choose what they want to attack me on. They make a decision and stick with it whether it’s true or not.

I’ve been called delusional since I started doing meta here, and I’m pretty sure it’s because my analysis, as an academic analysis (that’s what it is) is going over their heads. They are literally erasing the whole discipline of literature, because they think symbolism is fake. And I’m drunk. Lol. 

They don’t get English 101, so I must be delusional. Sigh. Now, simple basic hs level analysis with a hypothesis, three pieces of textual evidence and conclusion is considered “delusional.” And no one knows what canon is anymore.

IF they’re proved wrong in canon, they’ll just ignore it and pretend it didn’t happen.

I think they think canon is delusional, too. There’s no such thing as a fact, it’s all opinion, and since they don’t like it that means it didn’t happen.

I’m all for my baby spinning around surrounded by art, riding motorcycles, and looking fine at some nightclub/party/whatever. You go girl.

Also idk a Spacekru. Miss me with them blaming Clarke as if they didn’t also betray her or leave her on a planet by herself. Show some empathy why don’t ya.

I’m a little intrigued by the plot but have also been disappointed by Jason one too many times to really know if I’m going to watch live. I might just have one of you watch it live and tell me about it *cough cough @goddess-clarke cough cough*. Wow, got a tickle in my throat there.

At the end of the day, I’m not quite sure how I feel about it. If season 5 hadn’t happened, I would’ve been all over it. But alas, here we are.

BB head canon question: So. From Anya's POV, if you're willing to share, just how does she view Lexa and Clarke's relationship, all the way from start to the most recent chapter? Chapter three is one of my favorites in that Anya is saving Lexa from her own stupidity. Also? Anya's declaration that Clarke "Isn't so bad." I would love to know Anya's thought process on how everything has unfolded.

Anya knew Clarke from before there was a Lexa&Clarke. She’s seen Raven and Clarke rile themselves up, goading each other to increasingly poor levels of decision-making. She’s seen Clarke drunk and mopey about fucking Finn Collins. Overall, she thought Clarke was pretty alright for someone she was forced to spend time with as a person adjunct to her girlfriend.

When Clarke and Lexa start doing whatever it is they’re doing, she’s mostly amused with a strong side-helping of ‘wait and see’. Everyone gets a few free passes during their college experience, and Anya thinks that Clarke is Lexa’s. She’s got a little of that older sibling protectiveness going on, so she’s predisposed to judge Clarke extremely harshly for even the smallest of transgressions, but to her surprise, Clarke isn’t the one fucking things up. It makes for confusing times in Anya’s life. When Lexa wasn’t getting in her own way, she seemed happy with Clarke. She wants her sister to be happy, even if that means learning things about her sex life she could have lived without knowing. Whatever. It’s blackmail material. She’s also pretty pragmatic, and would prefer not to have a messy break-up between her girlfriend’s roommate and her sister hanging around in the background, making everything weird.

She’s got sympathy for Clarke, too. She knows a little more about Clarke than she lets on. Raven’s told Anya about Clarke’s dad and about how broken up she was after the whole Finn thing and about how weird things get with her mom sometimes. Raven’s also very much on #TeamClarke, so although Anya would like everything to be cut and dried, it’s not. She’s kind of rooting for Clarke, who clearly adores Lexa and makes Lexa more fun and less self-contained and serious. She thinks her sister needs someone like that, but Lexa’s so stubborn. She has issues and Anya can respect that. She’s not completely blind to the larger social context, even if it’s easier to pretend she is.

When she sees Lexa self-sabotaging, she tells herself not to intervene. It’s Lexa’s relationship and her issues and getting involved would no doubt turn out to be messy and ill-advised. And then she does it anyway, because if no one else is going to fix things, then she’s just going to have to. If that involves calling Lexa a dumbass (or close to it), then it’s just what has to be done.

And thank goodness, because it doesn’t take long to see that Lexa’s pretty much all in, even if she’s not ready to admit it. Anya’s not going to make it easy for Clarke, at least not directly, but she’s not going to make it hard for her, either. As long as Clarke makes Raven happy and makes Lexa happy, she’s family. There’s no sense in telling her that because it would only go to her head and make things awkward and weird, but she’s going to have Anya in her corner from now on, whether she wants her there or not. (Unless she fucks up, and then woe onto her.)

That she sometimes manages to get Lexa involved in embarrassing shenanigans is a bonus.

Boo!! You are more than living up to the hype!! Hope (I like the inside joke btw) has a whole group of people that now care about her happiness...which, I would love to get a flashback piece about how she met the Justice League (or at the very least, Bruce and his family, Clark, and Diana).

And I’m sorry but I’m #TeamClark — Hope has moved on and become stronger and more resilient. I can honestly imagine her being supportive of Clark’s superhero endeavors and then hanging with Alfred when he and the team go off to save people.

I’m absolutely infatuated! I happily await the next installment!

The silence lasted a second. Then it stretched to another. And another. Your former lover’s gaze was drawn to your engagement ring as he tried to find the words. It wasn’t flashy or over the top, but the diamond seemed to glow under the sudden attention. 

“You’re engaged?” Steve asked, his voice even in contrast to the storm in his eyes.

“I am,” you said proudly. 

“How did this happen?”

“Well,” Clark began. “We had a romantic dinner, I got down one knee and after-”

“I don’t think that’s what he meant, Clark,” you interrupted, trying not to smile at his humor. 

“Sorry. My mistake.”

The Captain’s gaze was calculating as it swept over your fiance. “You’re funny.”

“Hope thinks I am.”

“Hope?” Steve repeated in confusion.

“It’s a nickname for me,” you clarified. “It’s…well, it’s an inside joke.”

The hurt look reappeared on the Captain’s face. There was no denying the fondness in your tone or the tenderness in Clark’s eyes. Maybe he thought you were both making a joke at his expense. Frankly, you weren’t in the mood to ease his worries.
