After the Blu (alien) Team nuked the Red (alien) Team, their base crumbled down into pieces, leaving the Red Team disbanded by the mass explosion. Thus, each Red Alien mercenary was left stranded alone in space.

That's (was) the Alien’s situation, drifting in space, all alone. 

Despite drifting in the vastness of space all alone, the alien is determined to search for his missing teammates, carrying their spirit within himself.
