Tapered polymer fibers enhance light delivery for neuroscience research

Researchers have developed a reliable and reproducible way to fabricate tapered polymer optical fibers that can be used to deliver light to the brain. These fibers could be used in animal studies to help scientists better understand treatments and interventions for various neurological conditions. The tapered fibers are optimized for neuroscience research techniques, such as optogenetic experiments and fiber photometry, which rely on the interaction between genetically modified neurons and visible light delivered to and/or collected from the brain. "Unlike standard optical fibers, which are cylindrical, the tapered fibers we developed have a conical shape, which allows them to penetrate the tissue with more ease and to deliver light to larger volumes of the brain," said research team member Marcello Meneghetti from the Neural Devices and Gas Photonics group at the Technical University of Denmark.

Pre-Incan Site for Ancestor Worship Found in Peru

A team of Peruvian and Japanese archaeologists has unearthed a pre-Hispanic archaeological site in northern Peru dedicated to ancestor worship, with burial chambers, human remains and ceramic offerings.

"We have discovered an archaeological site of the Wari period with an antiquity of between 800 to 1000 years AD" in the Cajamarca region 900 kilometers (560 miles) north of Lima, Japanese archaeologist Shinya Watanabe told AFP on Saturday.

"Two burial chambers with pits for placing mummies and offerings to the ancestors were found at the site," the expert said.

Each of the burial chambers contains two levels, and both have five niches in the walls that contain offerings such as mollusk shells, ceramic fragments and a tripod dish with three conical supports.

"It is a great find because the archaeologists were looking for evidence of the Wari culture," said Watanabe, who is a professor at Nanzan University in Japan.

A bundle containing a female character, a black Wari ceremonial vessel, two musical ceramic wind instruments, and two copper fasteners were also found.

The discovery occurred in the Jequetepeque valley in the province of San Miguel in Cajamarca, a region that abuts Ecuador.

"Many people of multiple origins lived here. It was a ceremonial center dedicated to the cult of the ancestors," Watanabe said.

Judith Padilla, head of Cajamarca's culture office, said the findings allow for an understanding of "the lifestyle and ritual practices" of the ancient societies that inhabited the region.

The Wari culture survived between the 7th and 13th centuries over territory that is present-day Peru, but by 1100 AD the Wari were conquered by the rising Inca empire.

The discovery was made by the Project of Archaeological Investigation (PIA) Terlen-La Bomba and it occupies about 24 hectares (60 acres).

The Ministry of Culture indicated that the main objective of the research is to understand the socio-political system of the Cajamarca culture during the Middle Horizon (900 to 1000 years AD) and its relationship with the Wari culture.

"Admin, you know you can just call me Shea, you've been around the NJD almost as long as I have," I can't help but interrupt, Jack at my side on the stools that the social media team set up for the purpose of this interview.

The girl a year or two older than J and I looks up from her notes with a blush, laughing quietly.

"Right, sorry Shea. So, let's start this again, Jack and Shea, thanks for sitting down with us today. The way we're going to run this is that Jack and you are going to ask each other questions that were submitted to our social medias. Sound good?"

"Sounds good," Jack nods on our behalf, us taking the cards we were given and handing me my own. "Ready Baby?"

"Born ready!"

"Hey you guys, it's Jack here-"

"With Shea!"

Jack laughs, unable to not at the little interruption and carries on, taking his girlfriend's hand in his own.

"Yeah you guys, my girlfriend Shea is with me and we're here doing a segment in honor of Pride Night at the Rock comin' up, so we're calling this Bi-conic, where I will ask Shea questions about being a bi-sexual wag."

"And I'm an open book, so let's get going with it!" she exclaims happily, clapping her hands, the love Jack has for his girl evident in his smile.

"Okay, first question," Jack begins, glancing over the card in his hand. "How do you identify?"

"I am proud to say I identify as a bisexual woman," She answers, nodding diffinitively.

"And what does that mean?" He knows what it means, but he also knows that there is a lot of confusion surrounding what it means to be bisexual.

"What it really means is that I feel romantic or sexual attraction towards both two genders, in my case, men and women," Is the explanation he is given, him nodding as a way to suggest she glance at her own cards.

"Has my attraction to women ever made you worry or feel jealous?" She reads, and the question one she had struggled with a lot at the start of their relationship.

"Not once," Jack responds, the hesitation in the near immediate answer. Looking to the camera, his eyes are less than impressed as he looks down the social media team. "That's like asking me is I ever was worried that my straight girlfriend would get with another man. But I know Shea would never, so I've never felt the need to be jealous."

And it makes her heart swell, knowing just how deep in him his trust of her goes.

"Okay, next is due you believe bi-wife/ bi-girlfriend energy is a real thing?" She asks, giggling before he can even answer because she knows she can be hyper from time to time.

"Absolutely," Is his answer, head tilted to the side in thought. "Although only like, half the time it's actual energy and the other half it's like, your vibe, you know? Like what our dates are themed as and how you dress," Is the elaboration offered.

"What do you think of becoming the face of the bi-sexual army that attends games at the Rock?"

"I think, no- I know, I'm honored to be a face these people can related themselves too. I think it's comforting for them to know there's someone like them keeping an eye out and pushing for a safe environment," She explains, smile larger than it's been the whole interview.

And he can't help but smile back before looking at the camera. "I remember it was last month against the Canadians that a little girl, maybe 13 came up to Shea while we were leaving and just gave her the biggest hug and thanked her for being so nice and such an inspiration," He explains, the memory making even the crew smile.

"I couldn't be prouder to be her boyfriend."

And with that the camera is off, we're being dismissed to go about our business, Jack to prepare for the game while I head to join the WAGs.

Jack pulls me to the side as we leave, placing a peck to my lips with so much love in his eyes the sheer power of it may make me cry.

"I love you and your bi-sexual powerhouse energy, you know that yeah?"

"You have never once let me question it," I assure, kissing his nose. "I love you too, now you have to get down to change up before Nico storms up here."

He laughs but nods, kissing me quickly before walking backwards, a cheeky look on his face as he does so until he turns quick, jogging off to the staircase down the hall.

And all I can think about is how much I love this man.

Issues I have with how the worm gets got and Evil Eye's characterization from the Cursed House arc:

1- There's no way in fucking hell a worm that damn thick is drying out and dying by using less than a min of sun exposure. It takes like an hour for a regular earthworm to die of sun exposure (they get paralyzed by the bright light and die of suffocation b/c they breathe through their moist skin), a worm that damn big should take no less than *days* of exposure to sunlight, high heat, and strong winds to dry that bitch out.

It just... feels like a bit of an asspull to have a worm that damn big die from a minute of sun exposure, of setting sun exposure at that.

2- Worms don't come up to the surface when it rains to avoid drowning. They can stay submerged for a long ass time b/c again they breathe through their moist skin. They can like survive for days underwater. Why they surface during the rain? Possibly the vibrations of the rain on the soil comes off as a predator like a mole and the response to that is the head to the surface. Possibly because they can travel above ground when its wet a lot father and faster than they'd be able to while tunneling.

But also like, there's no fucking way in hell those two fire trucks during that small ass time window put out enough water for a worm that big to care. Like, they did not fill that thick ass worm's tunnels with water.

(Earthworms are sensitive to heat tho and its a lot more likely that volcanic shenanigans caused it to surface if magma started heating up the earth near its tunnels. And magma will force way into tunnels and shit underground due to pressure b/c the volcano itself would blow. That's like... how volcanoes work especially the conical kind)

3- Evil Eye fully remembers its life as a human, recall it shared its memories with Jiji to get the kid on its side. It's been in the same location as the worm for 200 yrs. The Kito family have been on their fuckshit and regularly at the location for 200 yrs. It knows who its opps are, a strong portion of the grudges it contains should be directed at those two sources so why the fuck does Evil Eye have more smoke for 2 random kids who almost got sacrificed over what should be the main targets of its undying wrath???

It bothers me so much, cause if its backstory is important to it it should act like it? It's fine for it to still try to murderze the fuck out of fuckers, yamanoke are malevolent beings, but like it should have priorities.

Hell, coulda had a not currently hostile Evil Eye team up with Momo and Ken vs the worm b/c 'the enemy of my enemy is potentially a useful tool against my enemy' in spite of warnings from Turbo Granny. Maybe have Evil Eye and Momo use their force field and big grabby psychic hands respectively to roast that fucking worm in some fire directly. And then have Evil Eye spot the Kito's and try to murderize the shit out of them causing Momo and Ken to realize shit aint sweet and once they try to stop Evil Eye from doing some murder the spirit turning on them too.

Idk, I just think it'd make a lil bit more sense.

okay so you love last life. it's personally my least favourite season of the life series so NOT YUCKING YOUR YUM I'd really like to know what about it you love. because me and my sister have been trying to work out why so many people really like it. if that's cool with you :)

okay okay so my brain is slightly messy and foggy due to a flare and new meds situation so bear with me and my rambles possibly not making any sense!

so going into this, i am aware that i do possibly have the sentimental value of last life being the first life series season that i watched live and the excitement it gave me waiting each week for a new episode. i was not however in the fandom space at the time!

so first of all martyn is my all time favorite life series pov, i love his bad jokes, the bits he plays, his video editing, the way he socializes and the sneakiness he manages to pull off. i also do like his lore quite a bit! i personally feel like martyns last life has a bit of the perfect combo of all this combined! (and unpopular opinion but i also really like martyns face cam, i miss it dearly). so his last life pov is one i've rewatched the most out of any life series ever, i just keep coming back to it!

i really loved the concepts of last life with the boggieman, being able to give a life away and the randomized amount of lives in the beginning. the boogieman gave the series so much more drama and there was no "we're all green so its safe and calm" feeling to it. everyone was kinda constantly on edge or suspicious of each other, which i know not everyone was a fan of, but i thought it was fun to watch and made me seek out other povs to see how each team handled the situation of the boogie each week. i liked having a life as a currency cause it felt more valuable than some object in the game, and it again gave the season more suspense in a way.

the teamups!!! gosh i loved the teams. so much spanned from last life that still gets referenced in newer seasons. the southlanders was such a mess. the bad puns never failed to make me laugh. jimmys whole arc of getting cast out and then being put on trial to join again. they never really trusted each other. the bit of always getting rid of jimmys spyglasses. "do u wanna kiss" mumbo jumbo. "we can still be friends mumbo" after grian went red moment. the "yeah well my diamonds are RIGHT HERE!!" moment. (just grumbo in general i mean what can i say. im their biggest fan). the goddamn breakup and remarriage of etho and bdubs every single episode in that goddamn snow fort had me in shambles i tell you. they made me go insane. "he loves me! he cares! he does!" bdubs about etho. like ok. ok ok ok. cool. sick even. team best with their stupid tnt canon that didn't do shit. incredible work. the birth (i THINK) of the codeword banana that gets used to this day by these clowns. the fairyfort and ren's awkward roleplaying with bigb and lizzie. BIGBS BETRAYAL TO CLEO. HELLOOO. PEAK CINEMA. cleo's "do me a favor. die for me." i-fucking-conic. the origin of gaslight gatekeep girlboss teamup of scott pearl and cleo. incredibly fun to watch. (pearls boogie trap with the dancefloor was so good. kept me on the edge of my seat). THE WIZARDS!!! loved ever pathetic attempt joel made at making traps. and that one time he screamed to the point of getting lightheaded once a trap actually worked. every joel and lizzie interaction was GOLDEN. "ive always liked red names... bad boys." "that's awkward." crying. scar's wizard arc was amazing, such a fun pov to watch. everyone being silly and not following the rules while using scar's enchanting service.

i loved the map seed and the bases this season as well! loved scar's wizards hat on the magical mountain, the ugly but charming southlander towers, the fairy fort, the shadow tower, the snow fortress, the bridge house, jimmys stupid exile shack and the scottage. a lot of circular walls surrounding their bases! i liked the "aesthetic" it made, the dark oak forest, utilizing the mountain, the paths between the bases. i feel like it created an amazing vibe!

the use of end crystals (mumbos boogie kill!!), the wither skill gathering and then the actual wither fight, the wizard theme.. its all so purple coded and ive loved seeing it in fanart and animatics. not to mention that my favorite animatics are of last life in general and i still gush over a lot of them! the ethubs last life fanfics are either pure "i gotta book a therapy appointment due to this angst" or pure crackfics and no in-between. incredible work really.

i don't know, i love the charm of last life, every single pov is great and its such a gem to me! i think it just hit with my personal favorite things that i always enjoy in any other show or move that i watch.

Webb investigates dusty and dynamic protoplanetary disk HH 30

This new NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope Picture of the Month presents HH 30 in unprecedented detail. This target is an edge-on protoplanetary disk that is surrounded by jets and a disk wind, and is located in the dark cloud LDN 1551 in the Taurus Molecular Cloud.

Herbig-Haro objects, like HH 30, are luminous regions surrounding newborn stars (known as protostars). They form when stellar winds or jets of gas spewing from these newborn stars form shockwaves as they collide with nearby gas and dust at high speeds.

HH 30 is of particular interest to astronomers. In fact, the HH 30 disk is considered the prototype of an edge-on disk, thanks to its early discovery with the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope. Disks seen from this view are a unique laboratory to study how dust grains drift and settle.

An international team of astronomers have used Webb to investigate the target in great detail. By combining Webb's observations with those from the Hubble Space Telescope and the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), the team was able to study the multiwavelength disk appearance of the system.

The long-wavelength data from ALMA trace the location of millimeter-sized dust grains, which are found in a narrow region in the central plane of the disk. The shorter-wavelength infrared data from Webb reveal the distribution of smaller dust grains. These grains are only one millionth of a meter across—about the size of a single bacterium. While the large dust grains are concentrated in the center of the disk, the small grains are much more widespread.

These Webb observations were taken as part of the Webb GO program #2562 (PI F. Ménard, K. Stapelfeldt), which aims to understand how dust evolves in edge-on disks like HH 30. Combined with the keen radio-wavelength eyes of ALMA, these observations show that large dust grains must migrate within the disk and settle in a thin layer. The creation of a narrow, dense layer of dust is an important stage in the process of planet formation. In this dense region, dust grains clump together to form pebbles and eventually planets themselves.

In addition to the behavior of dust grains, the Webb, Hubble, and ALMA images reveal several distinct structures that are nested within one another. A high-velocity jet of gas emerges at a 90-degree angle from the narrow central disk. The narrow jet is surrounded by a wider, cone-shaped outflow. Enclosing the conical outflow is a wide nebula that reflects the light from the young star that is embedded within the disk. Together, these data reveal HH 30 to be a dynamic place, where tiny dust grains and massive jets alike play a role in the formation of new planets.

ok so predictably i love the flavour text in lancer - you've got your contextless ominous quotes, your snippets from what appear to be in-universe literature, your coroporate euphemisms for something truly horrifying - but recently i've been really thinking about the white witch. because all its flavour text comes from what is evidently some kind of development log or some such, but that contains a really fun range. you've got your incredibly worrying yet kind of vague descriptions of what the thing actually does:

“To say we can pull this needle from ‘thin air’ is the best-fit phrase, but it’s not accurate. Not entirely. There’s no such thing as thin air, not in the way one means it when they use that phrase. ‘Agreeable atomic space’ – that’s what ‘thin air’ really is. A place where one could – if one could – coalesce utility from useless particulate mass with a thought. With a snap of our finger. Here, watch this –” (ferrofluid lance)

“We call it ‘demand-compliance tethering’. Though, that makes it sound as if they have a choice to resist.” (pinning spire)

“Manipulating the world around the platform doesn’t end at rearranging the natural/built environment. This was the line that many on the team were afraid to cross, the question we had all asked ourselves once we bracketed the platform: what happens when we apply it to a person? What does existence mean when it can be ended with a thought?” (camus' razor)

but then you look at a couple of the other mech systems and it basically just becomes the exotic materials department getting increasingly frustrated by the company's attempts to make their horrifying death machine more marketable:

“The first test nearly ended the program. Exotic Materials is a … liberal department within the Constellation, but even our executives were hesitant to approve a second run. The data generated by WW_01 was invaluable, and we were sure we could get it right with a second test – all we needed was the sigma on its rewrite cone! Suits just get leery when systems fail. “Soon enough we realized that shaping weapons from molecules and particles wasn’t enough to justify the conical mag as a system worth platforming. We needed to find a way to make it … more. More visual, tactile, concrete, imposing, thrilling – we needed to sell the next step in realspace control! So with some tuning and, regrettably, input from Visual, we figured out how to define the White Witch: as the most terrifying, alien thing you’ve ever fucking seen.” (sympathetic shield)

“Again and again the meatheads over at Visual asked us to ‘help them sell’ the platform. What else could we do? and then the icing on the cake comes from the retort loop description - at a glance it seems like someone waxing poetic about what horrors man hath wrought or whatever, but if you actually stop and read it:

“Ultimately, I have to return to the core of what we made, the code we cracked when we finally figured out NO/EM. From a simple prompt, we created a terrible engine. I am more proud of what we did than anything I’ve ever worked on before, but it should never see the light of day. Working with Visual convinced me of this: it’s their job to translate our work to sales, and they could not. If the translator cannot understand the text … then who are they to rewrite it? Who is the reader to attempt to access it? I conclude my summary with this: mothball the platform. There are less terrible paths we can walk.”

this is someone becoming gradually disillusioned with their crowning achievement as an artist, because in making it palatable to the wider market they keep having to water it down, and so rather than face that indignity to their craft they have put it to rest. and also the project in question is a horrifying murder machine.

So red guy is Ant Man, son of Marionette and Arcturus Rann. I guess he named the team after himself.

Bug is the green one. Fun fact: the 616 version was in the Guardians of the Galaxy. Marionette is glowy, golden light woman. Neutron is the one who has the tall, conical head. Proton is the egg shaped one. Spartak is orange and has the crested helmet. And Spidra is upside down woman with all the hair.

We’re following up from the Cap Special here so we start with Captain America’s funeral, held in the ruins of Washington DC and the grave of American democracy.

Wyatt Wingfoot, Cap’s former partner Redwing, gives the eulogy, calling Steve an unknown soldier, not really understood by the people he spent his life protecting.

So things are grim.

Not helped by funeral drama.

Redwing blows up at Lil Mar-Vell when various heroes offer to take up Cap’s role in guarding him on his quest. As far as Wyatt is concerned, Mar-Vell caused Cap’s death. By dragging him around on some weird quest and not being able to save him despite saying he has cosmic consciousness.

Also, Unpersoned Loki tries to start off on a new page with Thor but of all approaches chooses a flirty one.

I kind of want to roll up a newspaper and give Loki a smack.

The Tong of Creel attacks Windsor Castle to claim another piece of Absorbing Man.

King Captain Britain has impressive forces to throw at the problem. Himself, riding a Dragon Man. The Union Jacks. The Iron Avengers. Medusa. The new Black Widow, on loan from Russia. The new Black Knight/Prince of the Inhumans.

King Britain is more than equipped to kick the Tong of Creel’s ass in a straightforward fight. But while he’s doing one of those, someone sneaks behind the lines and just swipes the chest of Absorbing Man.

Dammit but that’s embarrassing. You know these guys are after the pieces. You know that they tend to swipe them in the chaos of battle. You should have prepared a better place for it than a glass display case! Throw it into the Sun!

Home to the Prometheus Pit, once the entrance to the Microverse or Subatomica.

Mar-Vell needed to come here to get Psycho-Man’s Emotio-Caster. And he finds that the Prometheus Pit is clogged with some weird, organic matter.

The Ant Men are finally relevant to the story because they pop up to exposit everything. Well, Nighthawk got the opening exposition dump about Microverse stuff, too.

In the far off future, Prince Wayfinder finds a sentient sword embedded in a star that leads him to Earth of the distant past and created the subatomic world for him and his people to live on. The sword also imbued him with the Enigma Force, making him the first Captain Universe.

When Wayfinder died, the Enigma Force passed down to his descendant Arcturus Rann. But when Psycho-Man got tired of the Fantastic Four kicking his ass, he conquered his own home the Microverse, using his Emotio-Caster to fill people with fear, doubt, and hate. He even influenced Marionette to kill her own husband Rann.

The Enigma Force that was in him passed into the Realm of Death instead of choosing a new, living host and chose Dead Mar-Vell.

That’s the big inciting event for Mar-Vell’s side of the plot. That’s why he’s suddenly making moves despite having been dead for a long while.

When all hope was lost to save the Microverse from Psycho-Man, Ant Man and his Ant Men chose scorched earth. They evacuated through the Prometheus Pit and then had Man-Thing clog it up so nobody else could escape. Literally scorched. All who know fear burn at the Man-Thing’s touch.

The Microverse was on borrowed time. It was created and sustained by the Enigma Force. When that Force died with Rann, the world it created began falling apart.

The last of the Enigma Force that had been in the Microverse then went back in time and empowered the last survivor of the previous universe.

Yes, that’s right. In Universe X, Galactus and the Microverse share the same origin.

It gets betterworse, depending on your tolerance for this arc welding. Aaron Stack, the new Watcher, speculates that it wasn’t the sword that gave Wayfinder power and created a world for him, it was the star the sword was stuck into. And Galactus’ ultimate fate was to be turned into a star. Therefore, we have a bootstrap paradox time loopy.

The Enigma Force creates Galactus who gets turned into a star which creates the Enigma Force and the Microverse, which eventually collapses and sends its last energy back in time to create Galactus.

I don’t have to like it but I do have to respect Earth X and its sequels conspiracy board with yarn between various things “it’s all connected!” approach.

Neutron yanks the Emotio-Caster out of the mess for Mar-Vell, which finally collapses whatever remained of Subatomica and Man-Thing.

Venom asks what Mar-Vell needs the emotion controlling device for and he says he wants to make people happy.

Nobody seems to find this alarming or ominous!

Maybe because he bolded happy. I feel that given the device in question the emphasis should have been on “make people happy.”

So much of this quest is Mar-Vell gathering up dangerous items and going “just trust me, bro” and people do!

Also, Mr S (Cyclops) realizes that he can communicate with Phoenix in the Realm of the Dead through their psychic rapport.

In perhaps the only significant characterization that the new X-Men have gotten so far, Charmer is upset about that because she has a crush on Scott.

And while pondering the Galactus-Enigma Force ouroboros, Aaron Stack goes and digs up the Supreme Intelligence from beneath the surface of the Moon, like he’s been talking about doing for a while, and sits on him.

Five issues, an issue 0, and three specials in. And still not a really concrete idea of where we’re going with this.

Aaron at least decides to go talk to Nighthawk soon. I’m glad for him. Going out and talking to new people instead of pondering the multiverse and letting Uatu yell at him.

Myth

(Ages are not conical, so just go with it, but that’s also the power of fanfiction.)

Myth – a traditional story, especially one concerning the early history of a people or explaining a natural or social phenomenon, and typically involving supernatural beings or events – that’s what he is, and he liked it.

No, he loved it. For someone who lived his whole life in the spotlight, it makes sense as to why he actively tries to hide. He hides from the press, he hides from friends and family, and especially from the hero community.

See, here’s the thing; he doesn’t necessarily exist. To the hero community that is. He did his time as Robin and then travelled as a nameless hero. Came back to Gotham with a new name but strictly stayed in the shadows. People sort of knew of his existence, but since he didn’t show his face, people just assumed he was a spook.

Bruce also liked to keep a lot of secrets from the JL, so it made it easier to stay hidden, but that didn’t necessarily mean that they didn’t know about him. He has done missions for the JL, but it was those intel missions that needed to be extra secret. He never once showed his face to the Justice League, and he liked it like that.

So you can imagine his irritation when Bruce called him. No, not Bruce, Batman.

“It’s only Monday B and I’m not in the mood, so whatever it is, no.” He didn’t even give Bruce a chance to speak.

“I wouldn’t have called if I didn’t think it was important. Dick has a cold and a bullet wound that he tried to hide, you know how it is. The girls and Duke are in deep cover, Jason is off world, Damian would kill them on sight just for them looking at him, plus his working with the Titans, and I obviously can’t go. I have other missions.”

“What’s the mission?” He asked just as he felt a small tug on his pants. When he looked down, he saw that it was his little two year old daughter. Tim smiled, before he picked her up, and sat her on his lap. She rested her head on his chest then she fell asleep.

Bruce took off his crawl so he could rub his face. “Intel mission.”

“Don’t you have a special team for this type of stuff? Oh wait you do. The YJ!” Tim whisper yelled so that he didn’t wake Nalaya up, because God help them all if she wakes up when she’s sick.

“You know as well as I do why we can’t just put them on this mission without Dick. As much as I want to trust them, I can’t, not yet anyways. I gave them a chance, they messed it up. They still need to prove themselves to me before I can let them go without Wing.”

“So essentially, I’m babysitting a group of young adults that are as reckless as toddlers on a sugar rush. How urgent is the mission?”

“Toddlers on a sugar rush? Wait - Tim did you get Nalaya on a sugar rush?” The amusement in Bruces’ voice was clear as day. Tim went pink.

“Answer the question B. How urgent is the mission?” Tim asked as he cleared his throat.

“Three days.”

“No.”

“Tim please. You’re my best bet at the moment.”

“If you want me to go so badly, push it for a week and a half. Mari is in New York for fashion week and can’t afford to look after a sick toddler. Both would need her full attention, hence why I am working from home. Mari is only gonna be home next Wednesday because she wants to visit her parents. Next week Wednesday. Deal?”

“Fine, thank you. I’ll see you at 2200h Wednesday at the Young Justice headquarters.” Then with no further ceremony, the Bat signed off.

Tim rolled his eyes. “Your grandfather is a pain in my butt.” Then he stood up carefully as to not wake up his kid. “Let’s get you to bed princess.”

They have all heard of myths and legends. Different kinds, from different communities, friends and family and especially in their line of work. Some were just for scares and for fun, most where true when it came to working with magic, and some where made up to throw people of their game.

Red Robin was one of those myths that the Bat-clan say to throw them off their game, or so they thought.

Imagine walking into their base of operations and seeing said myth talking casually with the big bad Bat, holding a coffee cup as if they were old friends, which couldn’t be right seeing as Red Robin looked younger then the Bat. A year or two younger than them actually. What the fuck.

When the two bats noticed the team they strained up and went blank faced. “Team meet the myth himself Red Robin. He will be helping you with this intel mission only. Double R the Young Justice team. You are to retrieve intel only. An over view of the mission has been sent to you. You leave in fifteen minutes.” He then turned away to the zeta tube, but before he left he turned his head to Red Robin. “Do not, and I mean do not pull that stunt you did with the LOA bases.”

“Such little faith. I won’t B. I promise.”

Batman raised his eyebrow. “LB would kill me if I did, so I won’t.” Batman nodded his head, then turned around and walked to the tubes.

There was a tense silence before RR broke it. “I’ll meet you in the hanger. I have to go and cuss out Nightwing.” He said as he turned to walk to the direction of the hanger.”

“Why would you want to cuss out Nightwing?” Wally asked.

“Because my brother is an idiot, and he is very lucky I moved out or I would have done more than cuss him out.” He said not stopping and not turning around.

“Is it me or did today go from tense to super weird in a total of five minutes?”

“It’s not only you Wally. Never mind that. We have a mission to complete. Let’s go team.”

“What happened with the LOA bases?” Conner asked to fill the silence.

Red Robin stopped typing to look Conner straight in the eye. A chill went the young supers spin when double R smirked.

“There is a reason Ra’s al Ghul is afraid of me. I blew up most of his bases because he had something of mine. I blew six more out of pure spit.”

The team stayed quite for the rest of the trip.

Six hours, one failed mission and a portal to somewhere, the team stood in the middle of a field, being glared down by Red Robin.

“What in the ever loving fuck was that?!”

They were silent, and that only made him more angry and frustrated.

It was a simple mission. Get a hard-drive that had blueprints to a machine that Luthor was building for the Light and get out, undetected and unharmed. The shitshow that happened is what he was trying to comprehend. How are they this bad or where they just being cocky and wanting to show off. This mission could be long over if they had followed his plan.

“I ask again. What the fuck happened?” His tone went from deadly shouting to deadly calm in two seconds flat, it made shivers run up his spin.

“What is your deal? We only messed up a little, but we got the information. Mission complete. No need to be all bitchy.” Conner said, getting tired of this dudes attitude.

Tim let out a dark chuckle. He did not just say that to his face when he was the main cause of this failed mission.

“My deal. Here’s my deal. You, along with your team had one simple task to do. Scout ahead and report to me. I would be the one to infiltrate the base and get the information. My problem started when you disobeyed a direct order to not engaging. At. All. But no, that was such a hard job. By you not staying put, you got your team injured. Then you went off by switching off your coms, ignoring everyone, which by the way got us portaled to Ice land. Your biggest flop so far was getting the incorrect data. So please, Superboy, tell me I’m wrong.”

It was silent. “That’s what I thought. Now, you will listen carefully. You are to dismantle every tracking, communication, and electronic device on you.”

“Why?” Wrong question from Artemis.

“Why? Why is because your egotistical teammate messed up the mission against his evil surrogate father, and I for one don’t want to be hunted by that madman. So my suggestion is do it yourself, before I turn every electronic device on you into a taser.”

That’s what he thought. Once changed in some casual clothing, he led the way a modest looking house. Tim pulled out a key and opened the door very slowly. Once fully open, a knife is thrown in his direction. He catches it without blinking, but that just means his more sceptical to go inside. The team just stares at his in shock. What the hell.

“I did say I was sorry.” He shouted into the house. A dino sippy cup was thrown at him. He ducks, the person behind him does not. Artemis now has a very pretty bruise on her forehead. (Wally has a picture.)

Tim motions them inside. He led them into a different room and there they are met with a soul wittering glare that put Batman’s glare to shame. They have never felt more scared in their lives than in that moment. Tim didn’t look fazed. He just lifted his brow. “I did say I was sorry.”

“One day I hope you’ll spontaneously combust.” The women said.

“And I wait for the day your glare leaves our kid without a father. Meet the team. The real source of your anger.” He said in a deadpanned voice.

The women huffed. “No, no. You’re the source of my anger. Bruce snitched. Anyways, nice to meet you all.” After getting well acquainted with this lioness of a women called Marinette and the owner of the throw dino sippy cup, Nalaya, Marinette lead them an underground hid out, while Tim went to put his little girl to bed. He joins them a few minutes later.

“So,” Marinette said from in front of the huge monitor where she was setting up a call. “who wants to tell the big bad bat what happened.” The team goes brick still, faces pale. “I mean it’s only fair you do the report.” Tim chokes on a laugh from where he sits typing in coordinates in front of another screen. Wally faints in that moment. “That’s what I thought.” Over confindent idiots, with their big egos. “Though I shouldn’t be surprised that they’re afraid of the furry.” Tim snorts.

“God forbid he hears you say that. What then?”

“I take your challenge.” The team still frozen to their spots watch in silence. Wally still out cold. The call is accepted in that moment. “Hello you giant furry.” She says it in a flat voice that had a bit of mirth and a bit of offence. Batman makes a strangled sound and Tim dies of laughter. Bruce gathers himself before he answers.

“Ladybird.” Bruce said stiffly.

“No need to be so formal B. I saw your latest gala suit by the way. It was very… I think it is best not to say.” The smirk on her lips and the snickering form Tim was turning him redder by the second. “Send my regards to Alfie.” She said as she got up, kissed Tim’s cheek and waved the team goodbye. Just like that she was gone.

Tim sat in her vacant set. Bruce turned his full attention the still frozen team. “What happened?” Tone low and icy.

“It’s in the report I sent you B. I’ll finish up the mission by 1am. The usual drill. I’m sending the team to the watchtower, they can fill you in on parts I was not present for. See you later.” And before Batman could answer, he dropped the call.

“Did you just drop the call on Batman?” Artemis asked as she finally came out of her daze.

“No I dropped the call on my father. Big difference. The zeta is ready by the way.” Tim said as he pointed to the zeta tube.

As the team walked out and Wally finally waking up, Tim called, “FYI if you tell anyone about what you saw today that wasn’t part of the mission, I will make good on my promise.” He finished with a smirk that promised pain and misfortune. The team nodded quickly and rushed into the tube.

Man was it fun to be a myth.

There were 13 students sorted into Slytherin house in 1991: Millicent Bulstrode, Vincent Crabbe, Tracey Davis, Gregory Goyle, Daphne Greengrass, Xander Lofthouse, Draco Malfoy, Lily Moon, Theodore Nott, Pansy Parkinson, Richard Pike, Ronald Weasley and Blaise Zabini.

Percy was the first person in Ron’s immediate family to accept his status as a member of Slytherin house. 

Ron and Daphne first met in the conical crypt. He was hiding in the far off crypt—located in the dungeons—crying because he finally received a reply from his mother about his sorting. 

The first major, magical accident caused by Ron’s use of a faulty, second hand wand, was when he accidentally destroyed his desk. His use of Diffindo nearly took his toes off, along with the right corner of his table.

Draco and his close friends back in first year—Gregory Goyle and Vincent Crabbe—had disabled the alarm charm on Ron’s bed in the first week of school. If it wasn’t for Theo waking Ron up most mornings, Ron would have probably been late to class or breakfast every morning. 

Theo and Daphne are maternal cousins, with their mothers being sisters of an Italian pure-blood family.

Ron still has two slashing scars that travel across the right side of his chest, from when Theo used sectumsempra on Ron. 

When Ron and Tracey met Mr. Bartholomew Greengrass, the duo thought the man was part veela because of his “immense beauty.” When asked by Tracey if such was true, Mr. Greengrass’ response was that he was Welsh.

Nobody noticed, but Draco usually hesitated before making his typical comments about Ron, because he was always hung up on the fact that a Weasley was in Slytherin. 

Ron used to play chess against the older students of his house, in an effort to gamble a few sickles into his hand. This habit of his is what prompted Theo to convince Gemma Farley to challenge Ron to chess. Though Ron lost, Gemma gave him the money and extended an invitation for Ron to join the Hogwarts chess club. 

Gianna Greengrass adored Ron and Tracey from the moment she met them. She was so happy to see her daughter and nephew making friends. She enjoyed stuffing the quartet and Astoria with Zuppa Inglese.

Tabby the house elf, the head elf of the Greengrass family, thought Ron was part giant the first time they met. 

Ron’s crush on Gemma grew into existence during his times sneaking off to Greengrass Manor for Chess club practice. Gemma and he were the only Slytherins in the club. As the two best players, Mr. Greengrass (a former Slytherin) favored spending his time mentoring the two.

Astoria usually spent time with the quartet when they hung out together at the manor. 

The first time Ron lied about his whereabouts over the summer so that he could attend chess club meetings, Theo gave him ice cream as both a reward for lying and to cheer him up.

Ron and Theo once tried making one of the abandoned classrooms in the dungeons their secret hideout… it did not last, courtesy of Professor Snape.

When Percy discovered that the Golden Trio had thrown the firecracker that caused Ron to get hit with boiling solution—and later sent to the Hospital Wing, he was furious. Percy was incensed however when he discovered that the trio obtained the firecracker from his twin brothers Fred and George.

Harry and Ron’s friendship began to dwindle after the Boiling potion incident. It came to a temporary end after Ron caught the trio infiltrating Slytherin. 

Ron became a suspect for being the Heir of Slytherin after Draco made a joke about it to the Slytherin quidditch team. The team then started spreading rumors around the school.

Mr. Greengrass was initially angry with Theo and Ron for going into the Chamber of Secrets, sending them a howler. However, Mrs. Greengrass later revealed via letter how he was simply upset that the two were in danger. She sent the boys a package of cookies as an apology for her husband’s anger.

Because of his part in saving her life in the Chamber of Secrets, Theo was the only one of Ron’s housemates that Ginny liked. She only started getting along with Daphne during the three months in which Ron stayed in St. Mungo’s Hospital.

Bill was the one to write letters to Ron informing him of Cedrella Weasley and Lucretia Prewett. Two relatives of their parents—both of who were from the House of Black and were both sorted into Slytherin. Ron was astounded with the news and took the time to learn about them. This was where his private connection with Cedrella was born.

He would never admit this, but Professor Snape’s favorite in the Silver Quartet was always Tracey. Tracey was the best out of the four at potions. And when he used light legilimency, she never held negative thoughts in her head about him. 

Both Fred and George were upset for the first few days after Ron had locked them in that vault. They didn’t like being upstaged by their younger brother. They felt bad however, when Ron was told he couldn’t go to Diagon Alley with the rest of the family. In hopes of cheering him up, they snuck him back some chocolate frogs.

For his third year, Ron decided to take three elective classes and one extra-curricular class: Ancient Runes, Divination, Muggle Studies & Magical Theory Class.

Ron didn’t take Arithmancy like the rest of the quartet because he had a difficult time handling numbers. Though he could do calculations with ease. He struggled associating numbers with magical nuance.

When Molly found out Arthur allowed Ron to travel to America for a Chess tournament, despite him being on punishment, she cooked dinners Arthur disliked for a week. She only found out after she realized Ron’s clock hand was on traveling rather than school, a day after Christmas.

George was the first to realize Ron had gotten a new wand. He, Fred and Ginny were all amazed at the lore behind the wand. The twins even tried to persuade Ron into allowing them to try the wand out, but were staunchly refused. 

When Sirius Black attacked the entrance of Slytherin House, Professor Snape was said to be in a “fury unlike any other” many of his own students remained cautious and weary of the angry potions master for a fortnight.

When Ron and Draco got into an argument over Buckbeak, Sirius Black attacked the two out by Hagrid’s Hut. Black transformed into a human and threatened them both. Despite Black injuring his leg, Ron threw himself in front of Draco. Black only left after realizing that Ron’s pet rat was not with him.

Daphne and Theo intended to hurt Draco when Ron ended up in the hospital wing. This was due to Ron throwing himself in front of Draco before Sirius Black. However, Tracey threatened to hex them when the two cousins had cornered Draco.

For his end of term project for Magical Theory, instead of presenting his findings on attempting Telepathy through Legilimency, Ron presented his information on crafting an original healing spell. These findings would eventually evolve to create his original spell, Dolorem Absolvo: a spell aimed at transferring one’s pain unto the caster.

Narcissa Malfoy was enraged when she learned that her cousin, Sirius Black, had intimidated Draco. She wished to go after him, but Lucius refused to allow her to leave their manor. 

The argument between Arthur and Ron at the Quidditch World Cup was the first time Bill and Charlie witnessed their father and youngest brother yell at one another.

Mr. Greengrass was approached numerous times with bribes to restrict Ron from competing in local chess tournaments. He refused, however.

Daphne felt insulted when Tracey told her that Ron had been asked out to the Yule ball by a Beauxbaton girl. Hence why she was adamant in accepting Ron’s offer, when he asked for her help in buying new robes.

Theo was the seventh person to ask Tracey to the Yule ball and the only Slytherin to ask her.

Ron and Daphne were originally going to wear blue to the Yule Ball. But Tracey had stated that “blue clothes on Ron diminishes the blue of his eyes.” So instead, the couple defaulted to wearing silver and green. 

Daphne once kissed Ron in front of his siblings in an effort to get them to stop teasing him.

When Theo found out Ron and Daphne had started dating, he gave Ron a hard time in classes for around a month. His attitude only changed when Daphne threatened to tell Tracey he checks her out sometimes.

By the end of his fourth year, Ron had lost his passion for Chess, instead wanting to focus on other matters in his life: mostly his friends and private studies.

When the Silver Quartet snuck out to Diagon Alley in the spring term of their fourth year—to deposit their looted items from the Room of Hidden Things—they nearly got away, but Ron’s brother Bill had caught them sneaking out. Ron got a lecture from Bill, an angry letter from his parents and detention with the quartet from Professor Snape. 

Slytherin House was said to have been thick with tension following the announcement that Voldemort had returned. Many refused to acknowledge the possibility while others indulged in the pure-blood mania.

The duel between Draco Malfoy and Gregory Goyle is what solidified the divide in the Slytherin fifth years. Those who challenged High Inquisitor Umbridge’s reign: the quartet (Tracey, Daphne, Theo & Ron) and Draco’s Gang (Draco, Blaise & Pansy). And the rest of their housemates who joined the Inquisitorial Squad and aided in the tormenting of other houses at Umbridge’s request.

Theo is the only person of the Silver quartet to not have crafted his own original spell. 

George initially wished to approach Ron in joining Dumbledore’s Army. But Fred, Ginny and the Golden Trio convinced him otherwise. Ginny suggested Theo, but in the end, the Trio and Fred chose to approach Tracey Davis. She refused to join however after they told her she couldn’t tell anyone. After subverting the jinxes Hermione Granger casted on her to prevent her from telling, Tracey told the Silver Quartet of Dumbledore’s Army. Ron was hurt that his own siblings lied to his face when approached about the subject.

In exchange for Daphne’s aid in avoiding the Inquisitorial Squad, Pansy Parkinson taught Tracey and Daphne how to apparate. Ron and Theo would later learn from the girls. Daphne also got Pansy to translate Aramaic & Sanskrit scripts—this played a part in Daphne’s eventual translation of Parseltongue script.

Throughout all five years of which he attended Hogwarts, Ron found a way to accumulate money. In his first year, he played chess against his fellow Slytherins, winning a couple sickles with every win. In his second year, he won 100 galleons at the national chess tournament. During his third year, he won 500 galleons at an international chess tournament. His fourth year, Ron played two domestic chess tournaments, winning another 100 galleons. Also, the Silver Quartet emptied the Room of Hidden Things, where Ron generated a profit of approximately 70000 galleons. And lastly, when the silver quartet started exploring the Chamber of Secrets in their fifth year, Ron and Theo harvested and sold the remains of the dead basilisk, garnering around 98000 galleons.

After kidnapping them, Voldemort made Ron duel Antonin Dolohov. Waging that should Ron defeat Dolohov, Daphne’s parents would be spared. Ron used sanguisuga on Dolohov, nearly winning the duel. However, Nagini jumped after Ron, distracting him enough for Dolohov to use the cruiciatus curse, incapacitating Ron. Voldemort then proceeded to kill Daphne’s parents in front of the two teens. It was then that Ron took Daphne’s place of receiving the dark mark, after Voldemort made it clear he wished for the Greengrass wealth to aid his cause.

The first person Ron, Daphne and Astoria went to for help was Theo, who had been stuck with his father at Nott Manor and Tracey, who spent Christmas with her parents. Theo and later Tracey, both tried to come up with ideas on where the Greengrass sisters could stay once the school year ended. Ron chose to eventually house them in a muggle inn at Ottery St. Catchpole, deeming Hogwarts and Nott Manor as too risky.

Draco, Blaise and Pansy saved Graham Montague after he was locked away in a Vanishing Cabinet. In exchange for saving him, Montague left the Inquisitorial Squad and owed them a favor.

The Battle at the Department of Mysteries—which led to Voldemort’s reveal and the incarceration of much of his forces—granted Ron and Daphne the time they needed to formulate a plan to evade and defect from being death eaters & sympathizers. In that time, though his status as a death eater was revealed to his family, Ron later denounced his status when he amputated his left arm. He and later the quartet would work together to go on missions, saving muggles and muggle-borns.

Bill and Charlie were the last to learn about Ron’s disownment. Charlie because it took a while for Ginny’s letter to reach him. And Bill because he hadn’t yet read Ginny’s letter when he got a floo call from George about Ron’s disownment and Fred throwing him out of their shop.

Following Ron’s disownment, Ginny sent out letters to the family, hoping for anyone to help Ron should they find him. It’s because of her letter that Aunt Muriel was alerted to Ron having the dark mark. Muriel’s willingness to aid Ron was born from Ginny’s words in her letter.

Voldemort never learned of Ron and Daphne’s active defiance in the war, instead believing that the two were simply hiding from him. He didn’t discover that Ron had moved against his cause until the eventual Skirmish at Malfoy Manor, where Ron and the quartet killed the Lestrange brothers and Bellatrix’s unborn child.

In the Attack of the Bones Family Home, Tracey single handedly saved Madam Amelia Bones, when she dueled Theo’s father for the first time. Sending the death eater flying back into a wall before apparating away with an unconscious Madam Bones.

The Silver Quartet’s saving of Emmeline Vance was an accident. The quartet were aiding Theo in his escape from his father, who intended for Theo to take the dark mark. On their way flying from Nottingham, they witnessed a group of snatchers ambushing Emmeline in the fields of Owler Tor. Rushing to her aid, the seven snatchers were quickly overwhelmed. The event saw Ron kill another living being for the first time.

Emmeline and Madam Bones, presumed dead by the Wizarding public, were initially upset at the assumptions. It was Theo and Tracey that convinced the two witches to use this as an advantage in the war. With this opportunity, the two witches began the operation in creating safe houses for muggles and muggle-borns. 

Molly didn’t talk to Arthur for three weeks after Ron’s disownment. When she finally did, she screamed at him and even threw hexes at him. It took Bill, Fleur and the Twins intervening to halt Molly’s rage.

Molly made a promise the day after she screamed at Arthur, “If I have to bury my son Arthur… I will never forgive you. I promise you that.”

Madam Bones used her political connections to open up port key access out of the isles. Basing herself out of the Isle of Wight, she awaited the quartet to bring refugees. Whom she would then send them off to safety in muggle France, Italy and Germany.

The kidnapping of Percy Weasley and Audrey Honywood occurred after Percy refused to aid his brother Ron in fear of death eaters watching him in the ministry. Saving both his brother and his not-yet girlfriend, Ron with the Silver Quartet took them to aunt Muriel’s house where they remained hidden for a time. The two would later join the Silver quartet in their numerous adventures and missions.

The Silver Quartet’s first mission, assigned by Emmeline, was to halt a possible death eater attack in or around muggle Manchester. The mission was a success, with Emmeline and Tracey dueling known death eater Jugson. Halting his gang’s assault on a muggle park. 

Ron had two boggarts. His first known boggart being Professor Gilderoy Lockhart attempting to obliviate him; the result of Ron’s duel with the fraud in his second year. His second and current boggart, taking the form of his father, Arthur Weasley, with his wand raised and ready to curse him.

On his 17th birthday—in accordance with wizarding tradition—Muriel gifted Ron a sapphire-encrusted pocket watch. The pocket watch once belonged to her brother, Ron’s great-grandfather. Along with the watch, she also commissioned a magical prosthetic arm made of bronze, to replace his amputated left arm.

When asked, Muriel told Ron many stories of her niece-in-law, Lucretia Prewett, née Black. Ron learned that Lucretia and Cedrella were as close as sisters. They were essentially the Sirius Blacks of their generation. The only difference being that Lucretia was never disowned while Cedrella was. The two women were both anti-blood purists, both were Slytherins, both married a wizard less wealthy then they, and wizards who defied blood purity. 

Tracey and Daphne’s first kill was a shared event. They killed Gregory Goyle’s father, who led a massive assault on muggle Edinburgh. The Skirmish at Edinburgh Castle occurred concurrently with the Battle of the Astronomy Tower. 

The Order of the Phoenix was divided after the death of its leader, Albus Dumbledore. Minerva McGonagall and Alastor Moody led the main faction. Severus Snape, alongside Draco Malfoy, Pansy Parkinson and Blaise Zabini all remained secret spies in support of the main Order. And Emmeline’s faction, who remained unknown and unacknowledged until after the war.

Emmeline Vance inducted the Silver Quartet into the Order of the Phoenix, following the funeral of Albus Dumbledore. 

The quartet fought in the Battle of the Seven Potters after Theo, who was undercover in Diagon Alley, witnessed Severus Snape confund Mundungus Fletcher. Aunt Muriel confirmed this after she revealed her home was set to become a safe house. The quartet, alongside Percy Weasley, Audrey Honywood and Emmeline Vance, awaited on brooms in the outskirts of Surrey. Each of the seven were tasked with protecting a decoy and splitting up to grant coverage. It was Daphne who acted as a second shield for Harry Potter. However, she was shot out of the sky by Voldemort, barely apparating herself to safety in time. Percy and Ron both dueled Severus Snape, after he was seen tailing their brother George and Remus Lupin. Percy stepped in the way of a sectumsempra, causing the spell to simply slash the arms of both Percy and George. Following this, the quartet and allies fled north to Audrey’s flat in Coventry as most of the decoys had presumed to have escaped.

At Muriel’s behest, and under disguise, Ron and Daphne attended Bill and Fleur’s wedding. There they met Barney Weasley and later fought in the death eater attack on the reception. Daphne saved Charlie Weasley’s life when she shoved him out of the way of the killing curse. The chaos of the situation caused their disguises to fail, revealing Ron and Daphne to the Weasley Family, who hadn’t seen Ron in over a year. The duo quickly apparated away to Emmeline’s safe-house in Poole.

Lady Augusta Longbottom went on the run after her grandson, Neville, didn’t show up for his seventh year at Hogwarts. She would later be confronted by Auror John Dawlish who failed at apprehending her.

Ginny Weasley and later the Gryffindor House as a whole led the Hogwarts students in defying the Death Eater regime that had taken hold of the castle. Pansy Parkinson played the role as a spy for Dumbledore’s Army, in exchange for Ginny’s aid in protecting the younger Slytherins who were subjected to the same torture as the other houses.

Blaise Zabini worked in contacting Slytherin alumni in potentially defying Voldemort’s regime. He did so under a pseudonym and was successful in securing the likes of Gemma Farley, Graham Montague and Merula Snyde. Together, the Slytherin Alumni worked to give warnings of potential attacks or to smuggle muggles and muggle-borns out of the country. Merula Snyde died fighting off snatchers who chased Dean Thomas and Edward Tonks. 

The Skirmish at Malfoy Manor only occurred after Winky alerted Ron that Death eaters had captured Harry Potter. Believing his sister to be a part of Potter’s runaway gang, Ron led the Silver Quartet to assault the manor. They arrived before Potter’s gang however, and succeeded in persuading Draco Malfoy to defect to their side.

Following Draco’s desertion, Narcissa Malfoy and her husband Lucius fled Voldemort’s side. The first place they went to was to the home of Andromeda Tonks. The two sisters had argued, with Narcissa blaming Andromeda's husband for costing Draco’s life. 

When the Weasleys went into hiding after Ron’s discovery at Malfoy Manor and Ginny’s “disappearance” from Hogwarts, Molly, Arthur, Fred and George all took refuge at Aunt Muriel’s house. There they reunited with Percy, who chastised his family for their role in Ron’s disownment. From Percy and later Tracey, Draco, Neville and Edward Tonks, Molly, Arthur and the Twins learned the story of how Ron received the dark mark. Aunt Muriel also casually mentioned how Ron amputated his defiled arm. Molly cried for three days straight, stopping only because Muriel threatened to slap her with Ron’s amputated arm.

Following the escape and separation from Malfoy Manor, Ron, Daphne, Theo, Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Dobby, Winky, Luna Lovegood, Dean Thomas, Garrick Olivander and Griphook took refuge at the abandoned Davis Family flat located in Eastbourne. The majority of them fought together in a few more missions together before the Battle of Hogwarts.

Ron, Daphne and Theo were taught the Patronus charm by Harry Potter, while they hid in Eastbourne. Ron’s Patronus was a bat, Daphne’s a butterfly and Theo’s a fox.

After recovering Ravenclaw’s Diadem and using it to uncover portraiture magic, Tracey had left the artifact in the Chamber of Secrets. This forced the joint forces of the Silver Quartet, the Golden Trio, Draco Malfoy and the Order of the Phoenix to head to Hogwarts to get the horcrux before Voldemort. 

Despite once bearing the dark mark, Ron could cast a fully corporeal Patronus. His bat Patronus was used to alert Neville, Draco and Tracey of Harry’s plan to head for Hogwarts to retrieve Ravenclaw’s Diadem.

Daphne was the only member of the Silver Quartet to fight to the very end of the Battle of Hogwarts. With Theo and Tracey both dying after their duel with Theo’s father and Ron’s incapacitation, Daphne remained awake and alive to see Voldemort’s defeat and the triumph of the light.

Of the 13 Slytherins sorted in the year of 1991, only six survived the Second Wizarding War: Millicent Bulstrode, Daphne Greengrass, Draco Malfoy, Pansy Parkinson, Ronald Weasley & Blaise Zabini.

Daphne was the one to find all the bodies of those she loved. She carried Ron to a cot to sleep, unknowing if he would survive from the injuries he sustained. She found Theo’s body, embraced by Tracey’s body, both having died from bleeding out. She also found Astoria’s mangled body in the Great hall, which she quickly had Winky and Tabby move, to the privacy of the Slytherin commons.

While Ron healed in St. Mungo’s, Daphne had repaired and strengthened her relationship with Ron’s family. It was made easier with the friendship she already had with Percy and Audrey. And Molly’s revelation that Daphne saved Ron was enough for Molly to unofficially adopt Daphne.

Audrey and Daphne usually hung out together at Weasley family gatherings. They became friends after the silver quartet kidnapped/rescued Audrey and Percy. Audrey enjoys Daphne’s company while Daphne loves how kind and thoughtful Audrey is.

Before moving into the Prewett Family Home, Daphne and Ron stayed at the abandoned Davis Family Flat in Eastbourne. This was mainly because Daphne’s home—the Greengrass Manor—had been destroyed during the war, and Ron never felt comfortable staying in the Burrow after his disownment. He also couldn’t travel to his room easily with his limp.

Ron and Daphne collectively have three godchildren: Garrett Weasley (son of Fred & Hermione), Trent Davis (Tracey Davis’ younger brother) and Mira Malfoy (daughter of Draco & Pansy).

Ron’s charisma and Daphne’s assertiveness made them a good duo during their time running the Greengrass family business of magical real estate. 

For one of her birthdays, Molly received a snuff box filled with vials and a pensieve from Ron and Daphne. They got it so that she could one day hold all of her favorite memories close to her. One of the vials was already filled with a memory, when Molly watched it, she realized it was the memory of Ron and Daphne’s wedding—an event Molly always wished she was present for.

Other names that Ron and Daphne came up with for their potential children included: Cedrella, Barton, Ally, Tracey, Theon, Astraea, Castor & Emma.

The Silver Grimoire eventually became a Greengrass family heirloom. The only people other than the quartet to read the grimoire were Ron’s siblings.

One of the first things Ron and Daphne said to Molly and Arthur after the surprise birth of their daughter, Astoria II, was “Hey! We beat Bill and Fleur at something!” The young couple then proceeded to high five and laugh as they introduced the Weasley parents to their first grandchild.

Mafalda Prewett is commonly referred to as Ron and Daphne’s “eldest child” because of their part in raising her.

Ron and Daphne took their kids every year to spend Christmas at the Greengrass Botanical Gardens & Mausoleum. The couple didn’t like Christmas because it was the anniversary of Daphne’s parents’ murder. They would spend the morning and early afternoon paying their respects to their fallen family and friends, then later visit the Burrow for Christmas dinner.

Though Ron eventually forgave Arthur for his disownment, Arthur had never truly forgiven himself.

Other than his sister and parents, Nico usually spent most of his time with his uncles Fred and George. Despite his extremely introverted, shy, and timid nature, Nico enjoyed just being around his uncles and their shop. He considered the chaos as the perfect environment for him to be by himself.
