13 Study Tips For Students.
Studying effectively is about more than just spending hours with your books. It’s about adopting smart strategies, staying consistent, and caring for your mental and physical health. Whether you’re a high school student or preparing for university exams, these study tips, enhanced with pro strategies, will help you achieve better results.
1. Plan Your Study Time
Creating a schedule is a foundational step for effective learning. A clear plan not only keeps you organized but also reduces procrastination.
Set Daily Goals: Write specific objectives for each session, such as completing a chapter or solving five math problems.
Time Management Techniques: Use the Pomodoro Technique, where you study for 25 minutes and take a 5-minute break.
Balance Subjects: Rotate between subjects to maintain interest and avoid burnout.
Pro Tip: Use apps like Notion or Google Calendar to plan and set reminders for study sessions.
2. Understand Your Learning Style
Everyone learns differently, and identifying your preferred style can significantly boost efficiency.
Visual Learners: Use diagrams, charts, and color-coded notes.
Auditory Learners: Listen to podcasts, record lectures, or teach the material aloud.
Kinesthetic Learners: Engage in hands-on activities like writing, drawing, or creating flashcards.
Pro Tip: Combine learning styles to reinforce information. For example, watch a video on a topic, then summarize it in your notes.
3. Set Up a Productive Study Environment
Your surroundings play a significant role in your focus and productivity.
Keep It Organized: A clean desk minimizes distractions.
Eliminate Noise: Use noise-canceling headphones or work in a quiet area.
Good Lighting: Proper lighting reduces eye strain and keeps you alert.
Pro Tip: Add a personal touch to your study space, such as inspirational quotes, plants, or a vision board, to keep you motivated.
4. Break Down Large Tasks
Facing a mountain of work can feel overwhelming, so breaking it into smaller, manageable tasks is essential.
Chunking: Divide chapters or projects into smaller sections and tackle them one at a time.
Mini Deadlines: Assign yourself smaller deadlines for each chunk to maintain progress.
Pro Tip: Begin with an easier task to build momentum, then transition to harder sections when you’re in the zone.
5. Take Effective Notes
Good notes simplify revision and help you retain information better.
Highlight Key Points: Use different colors to emphasize important details.
Structure Your Notes: Use techniques like the Cornell method to organize your notes efficiently.
Incorporate Visuals: Mind maps, flowcharts, and diagrams can simplify complex topics.
Pro Tip: Rewrite or summarize your notes after class to reinforce learning.
6. Practice Active Learning
Passive reading or rote memorization is often inefficient. Instead, engage actively with the material.
Self-Quizzing: Test yourself regularly to check your understanding.
Teach Others: Explaining a concept to someone else helps you solidify your knowledge.
Solve Problems: Apply theoretical knowledge to practical questions or case studies.
Pro Tip: Record yourself explaining complex topics and listen to them later to reinforce learning.
7. Use Technology Wisely
Leverage modern tools to optimize your study sessions.
Apps for Focus: Use apps like Forest or Focus@Will to stay distraction-free.
Digital Flashcards: Platforms like Quizlet make creating and reviewing flashcards easy.
Online Resources: Access supplemental learning materials from websites like Khan Academy or Coursera.
Pro Tip: Use AI-powered tools like Grammarly to polish essays or Wolfram Alpha for complex problem-solving.
8. Master Time Management
Effective time management can transform your academic performance.
Prioritize Tasks: Focus on high-impact tasks first, such as exam preparation or projects with tight deadlines.
Avoid Multitasking: It reduces efficiency and increases the chance of errors.
Use Deadlines: Even self-imposed deadlines can motivate you to stay on track.
Pro Tip: Reserve your peak productivity hours for difficult tasks. If you’re a morning person, tackle challenging subjects early in the day.
9. Revise Regularly
Repetition is the key to retaining information over time.
Spaced Repetition: Review material periodically instead of cramming it all in one session.
Weekly Reviews: Dedicate time every week to revisit previously learned concepts.
Practice Tests: Simulate exam conditions to build confidence and improve recall.
Pro Tip: Use spaced repetition apps like Anki to schedule revisions for maximum retention.
10. Stay Healthy
Your physical and mental well-being directly impacts your ability to focus and learn.
Eat Smart: Include brain-boosting foods like nuts, blueberries, and fish.
Exercise Regularly: Even 20 minutes of daily physical activity can improve concentration.
Sleep Well: Aim for 7–9 hours to ensure optimal cognitive performance.
Pro Tip: Practice mindfulness or deep-breathing exercises for 5–10 minutes before studying to reduce stress and improve focus.
11. Form Study Groups
Studying with peers can make learning more engaging and effective.
Collaborate: Share ideas, clarify doubts, and solve problems together.
Accountability: Group members keep each other motivated and on track.
Explain Concepts: Teaching others helps reinforce your understanding.
Pro Tip: Keep study groups small (3–5 members) to maintain focus and avoid distractions.
12. Take Breaks Wisely
Continuous studying without breaks can lead to burnout.
Pomodoro Breaks: Take a 5-minute break every 25 minutes, or a 15-minute break after an hour.
Physical Activity: Use breaks to stretch, hydrate, or take a short walk.
Avoid Screens: During breaks, step away from electronic devices to rest your eyes.
Pro Tip: Use your breaks to do something you enjoy, like listening to music or journaling, to recharge effectively.
13. Track Your Progress
Monitoring your performance keeps you motivated and helps you identify areas for improvement.
Maintain a Study Journal: Record daily accomplishments and reflect on what worked.
Set Benchmarks: Check your progress against your goals and adjust strategies as needed.
Reward Yourself: Celebrate small milestones to stay encouraged.
Pro Tip: Use habit-tracking apps to visualize your progress and consistency.

+ “Living the life that you love and loving the life that you live is the truest demonstration of abundance.” ~ Lisa Nichols
2024 | A Year in Review
As I reflect on 2024, I am reminded of Lisa Nichols’ profound words: “Living the life that you love and loving the life that you live is the truest demonstration of abundance.” This year has been a journey of growth, creativity, and joy—a tapestry woven with milestones, moments of learning, and the privilege of helping others discover their greatness.
Celebrating Creativity and Connection The year began with a burst of energy in March, as LCI Melbourne’s Graduate Fashion & Costume Design runway event became a standout highlight of PayPal’s Melbourne Fashion Festival. Witnessing our final-trimester students showcase their raw, authentic creativity to packed matinee and evening audiences was a moment of deep pride and inspiration. It was the culmination of their hard work, passion, and innovative spirit.
Around the same time, Game Changers Series Sixteen launched with an extraordinary lineup of thinkers, educators, and creatives, including:
Professor Bill Lucas – Chair of the Global Institute of Creative Thinking,
Lamis Sabra – Associate Director, Creativity, Culture & Education (CCE),
Pip Cleaves – Associate Principal, Global Village Learning,
Michael Anderson – Co-Founder of 4C Transformative Learning,
Susie Wise – Author of Design for Belonging,
Russel Howcroft – Advertising Guru and Broadcaster,
Mykel Dixon – Author of Everyday Creatives
Each conversation delved into what it means to lead, learn, and inspire in today’s complex world. Surpassing 800,000 listens was a powerful reminder of the resonance of storytelling and the shared human experience.
Milestones and Impactful Moments March brought another milestone as our book, Game Changers: Leading Today’s Learning for Tomorrow’s World, became a bestseller, sharing its message far and wide. In partnership with PauseFest, LCI Melbourne hosted The Future of Business is Creative during Melbourne Design Week. This event emphasised creativity as a vital compass for addressing global challenges, from climate change to an ageing population.
June’s Intermission exhibition showcased the creative journeys of Bachelor of Design Arts students at their midpoint. The displays radiated not only their talent but also the incredible potential that lies ahead for each of them.
Leadership and Learning: Paving New Paths Mid-year, I had the honour of presenting LCI Melbourne’s groundbreaking Student Success Strategy at the National Education Summit. Later, I facilitated a Design Thinking for Learning masterclass at the Catholic Secondary Deputy Principal’s Association (CSDPA) conference in Western Australia. Working alongside passionate educators to navigate complexity and change was a humbling and enriching experience.
August’s Open Day featured an inspiring Creative Careers Panel with leaders such as Ty Henschke, Sophia D’Urso, David Constantine, and Ashleigh Falconer. Their insights into turning creativity into a fulfilling career left a lasting impression on attendees and on me.
Another cherished moment was MCing The Connection Curriculum book launch at LCI Melbourne, followed by an invitation to join Philip Murdoch on The Tattooed Teacher Podcast.
Sharing Stories and Sparking Conversations In November, I presented at The Second Arab International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Education on Rethinking Education in the Age of AI: Unlocking Human Potential in an AI-Driven World. This experience highlighted the urgent need to blend technological innovation with human-centered creativity—a theme that resonates deeply with LCI Melbourne’s “Different By Design” philosophy.
November also marked the launch of LCI Melbourne’s partnership with Football Australia, opening doors to new opportunities for our students. Returning to The Art of Teaching podcast and preparing for the Pedagogy of Encounter workshop for ReimaginED24 rounded out a month rich in meaningful connections and conversations.
Moments of Reflection and Gratitude Amid these milestones were quieter, deeply personal moments. Writing 40 entries for Permission Is Triumph offered a space for reflection and growth, while continuing to care for my 90-year-old mother reaffirmed the importance of love, service, and family. Her resilience in the wake of her stroke has been a profound reminder of the strength we find in connection.
As I stand on the threshold of 2025, Lisa Nichols’ words remain a guiding light: “Living the life that you love and loving the life that you live is the truest demonstration of abundance.” The year ahead is a blank canvas, ready to be painted with our dreams, aspirations, and the beauty of everyday life.
Go gently, my friends. Know you are enough. And always remember to be kind.
Adriano xx
Adriano Di Prato is an influential Australian educator, best-selling author, former co-host of the leading educational podcast Game Changers, and the Campus Director at LCI Melbourne, a progressive art, design + entrepreneurship private institute of higher education.

Unlock the Power of Data Science with Training in Mumbai
Mumbai, one of the largest cities in India, is home to many aspiring data scientists. There are a number of Data Science training institutes available in Mumbai which offer comprehensive courses and classes in this field. These institutes provide comprehensive knowledge on all aspects related to Data Science such as machine learning algorithms, data mining techniques, statistics and data analysis tools etc. They also help students understand the importance of data science for businesses as well as its practical applications.
Tumblr media
The goal of these institutes is to make sure that their students become experts in this field by providing them with an extensive course curriculum along with hands-on experience through a series of projects and assignments. The syllabus usually includes topics like big data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), deep learning concepts etc., thus giving participants the opportunity to gain a holistic understanding of all the relevant technologies used today. Additionally, some institutes also provide workshops on specific topics related to Data Science so that participants can gain an insight into cutting-edge technologies and trends in this domain.
Apart from classroom sessions, these institutions also offer mentorship programs which give students access to industry mentors who have years of experience working within the industry. This helps them stay abreast about current events and trends related to Data.
Data science has become an increasingly important field as organizations have come to rely on data-driven decision making. As such, many professionals are turning to online or in-person training programs to gain expertise in this growing industry. Mumbai is one of the leading cities for data science and analytics training in India, offering a wealth of opportunities for those looking to enter the field or sharpen their skills. In this blog post, we’ll discuss what you can expect from a data science training in Mumbai and how you can make sure you get the most out of it.
One of the great things about attending a data science program in Mumbai is that there are numerous courses available at different levels and with varying focuses. Whether your goal is learning basic concepts or mastering more advanced topics, there's likely something suitable for everyone’s needs. Furthermore, because these programs are offered by experienced professionals within the industry, they provide students with invaluable insight into applied analytics techniques and real-world scenarios they may encounter while working professionally with data sets.
In addition to course content focusing on topics like machine learning algorithms and predictive modeling tools, some programs also offer workshops where participants can practice their newfound skills using actual datasets from various industries like finance or healthcare IT systems. These hands-on experiences not only help build confidence but also give participants valuable experience that will be useful once they start working professionally as well as prepare them for interviews should they choose to pursue job opportunities after finishing their studies.
When selecting which program would best suit your needs when pursuing Data Science education in Mumbai it’s important to take into account factors such as price range (some courses cost over Rs 30k), duration (most programs last around 6 months) if classes will be held remotely or offline (many schools offer both), who teaches them (professionals usually teach remote classes while local universities/colleges host physical classes). It's also wise to check out reviews written by prior attendees so you know what kind of quality instruction goes into each class before enrolling yourself!
Regardless of which route individuals choose when getting trained up on Data Science fundamentals crucial components remain essential - regular attendance during lectures/workshops; actively participating during classroom discussions; staying up-to date with latest developments through reading blogs & research papers related subject matters; undertaking projects & assignments given by trainers etc. All these activities are necessary elements that need attention if one wants successful transition from being novice learner into proficient practitioner upon completion coursework

Heyo, Haddock! I'm a linguistics student, fluent in French, and I'm studying German. I'm looking into freelance translating as a job, but so far it's pretty overwhelming - do you have any suggestions or tips on how to get a jump on that? How do you find work as a freelance linguist?
Hey there, linguist! That’s really cool, and I wish you the best as you start exploring freelance translation as possible work.
Admittedly I’ve never done translation as a job. I briefly considered it once, but never applied to any jobs there. I subsist 100% off linguistics commission work, but it’s all in theoretical linguistics, mainly along the semantics-pragmatics interface (just finished a fun project related to phonology-morphology shenanigans though). I implement theoretical linguistics knowledge by annotating large corpora of data (usually a database of many sentences) with pertinent linguistics information. At times I help modify an annotation system to be better, too. I then send my annotated data to another team, where they do computational work to develop language-related technology: for instance, using semantic information to improve a computer’s algorithm for returning relevant search results, or helping an AI interact better with humans in back-and-forth conversation. There’s limitations to how much I can explain because of nondisclosure contractual agreements. However, I can say I like to joke with my friends that, when the sentient robot revolution happens, you technically could pin part of the blame on me. I don’t do any computation stuff teaching computers to be smart, but I do feed theoretical information to a computational team.
So…. all that said! I’m happy to talk about things I’ve learned to make my freelance life sustainable. Hopefully that can help you find a groove for your own freelance journey! However, I’ve seen that translation jobs tend to run differently than what I do. You will certainly have different experiences than I do, because the translation world has is own quirks and system. But maybe some of this is applicable, and I wish you the absolute best with sorting out stuff that feels overwhelming now.
What makes my freelancing work work is that I’m re-employed by the same people and companies consistently. I’ve been doing annotation linguistics work on several projects for my alma mater university since 2012. In the public sector, there’s one company in particular I have consistent interactions with. For that one, hiring directors have my resume on file in the company’s database of possible contractors. Those hiring directors and project managers who’ve worked with me in the past tend to come back and email me with new opportunities later. What started as me tossing out a bunch of resumes and applications has turned around; now I’m at the point that I almost never look for a new contract, but get emails asking me if I’m available for a new gig. Free new job offer in the inbox! There have been times I’ve had to turn some down, too! Two to three contracts going on at the same time is more than enough volume to handle, and any more than that is ridiculous and unsustainable. I tend to prioritize the longest-running projects, while picking up a few smaller tasks from new project managers to build connections for future networking purposes.
Actually, one of the main companies I work contracts with, Appen, also hires translators for basically EVERY language internationally - so you could check them out if you’d like! You could be qualified to do some gigs with them! Once you submit an application for one job, your information is on store for the company to use for future gigs. However, an idle resume probably isn’t going to do much over time. I recommend re-submitting your application for new jobs - it shows volition, availability, and helps your name get pulled to their attention. I’ll admit that my first few applications didn’t catch any fish; it wasn’t until I name-dropped (one of the university professors I worked for) that I ended up receiving responses from the hiring managers and project leads.
If you do end up doing contract work in a system like Appen’s, I encourage you to be very careful. With freelance linguistics or translations, there’s many gigs that underpay workers or have paying practices that might not secure semi-stable income. You and I don’t live in the same country, so this isn’t going to be the same, but there’s healthcare and tax stuff I have to keep an eye on, too. Honestly, one of the reasons I decided not to pursue the possibility of remote work translating… was that many available translation jobs offered in my area… made me raise my eyebrows. Some sketchy stuff is out there. Sure. Some was GREAT work. Full-time salaried position working as a civilian in a military base? Those looked like solid gigs. Other common translation work is remote translating through a translation-oriented company, where you’d have consistent work and could be a freelancer, not in short-term projects like I get, but being an ongoing member translator. But some translation companies I saw lots of negative reviews for regarding payment practices and how they treated employees as replaceable; seems like you had to be a project manager overseeing translation quality to have a good gig (I did have one old linguistics classmate get that position). I also always was nervous about the idea that some translation companies seemed to pay you per word for what documents you translated (what if you only got short messages that month? maybe workflow is steady(?), but that sounded nerve-wracking to me on the outsider’s perspective - same type of scary as people in sales being paid based on how much they sell). The work I do is paid per hour - not salaried - but at least “per hour” can be more stable and flexible with what you do.
So yeah. I don’t know if this makes your job searching more or less overwhelming, but be careful. Sometimes job-wise in life we have to start with “anything,” but “anything” won’t get good money or mental rest, and there’s times to say “no” to “anything”. There is fair work too, though.
Note that some of my comments on the translation field maaaay be inaccurate, given as it’s been a while since I’ve looked at that, and some of my observations will be based upon where I live versus you. I don’t want to feed unintentionally bad information, so everything I say on the field should be taken with a good grain of salt.
I haven’t had problems with my work, in part because I’ve figured out the payment bargain game. Every time a new gig asks what I’d like to be paid, I increase the price amount slightly. They usually agree. I feel like, as far as hourly contract work is concerned, I’m not being paid jack shit or being taken advantage of so much, and I am more than happy to spend my work week in my pajamas at home listening to metal music in the background, choosing my hours - even if it’s freaking 2 AM. Salaried positions pay more of course, and would be “fairer” considering my education level, but I’m still well over minimum wage. I’ll take it. Once I get mental health issues worked out (they’re capping my ability to work the number of hours a week I need), I’ll be making decent yearly income. There’s the constant terror of not getting new gigs, though, which comes with companies making me only a part-time contractor… but in your translation, that shouldn’t be any issue. There’s going to be freelance translation you can do within one translation company and chill there as long as you like. You won’t have to keep reapplying to new gigs if you settle in with some translation company.
One thing I suspect you might have to do, though, especially to get decent gigs, is get translation certification. I haven’t looked into it, though I remember seeing the word floated around. Maybe you know this already though. XD You would have looked more into the field than me!
I’m wishing you the very best with starting a freelance translation journey, and you rock for being a linguist. I wish I could have been more helpful! I’d be interested to hear any experiences you have or end up having, if you ever want to share! Languages for the win!

Automation : Emergence of a New Job Market and Disappearance of the Existing One
Tumblr media
A photo showing robots in the automobile manufacturing industry.
Source: http://www.moltecinternational.com/markets/robotics.html
In the lifetime of every civilization there arrives a crucial juncture where the organisms that exhibit and conform to the “survival of the fittest” doctrine continue to thrive and the rest move into the dark corridors of oblivion.
Automation and the new Industrial Revolution
In the globalized world of today, we as a nation are standing at a crucial juncture. The term – “Automation” , still a relatively new term in Indian households is the driving force behind a new Industrial Revolution. The 1st Industrial Revolution was originated by the invention of the steam engine by James Watt. Thus got initiated a new methodology of manufacture and production of goods. India could never really become a manufacturing superpower due to its inability to align itself to the waves of the 1st Industrial Revolution. That is history, lets travel back to the present. The new age Industrial Revolution is getting characterized by the availability of trillions of gigabytes of raw data generated by various industrial sectors. This data is getting processed, analyzed and results of these analytics are being utilized for production, sales and management across the globe.
A general perception is that Automation is something which is solely associated with the fields of IT and Computer Science. But this is a gross misconception. Automation is impacting and will continue to impact every industrial sector from BFS (Banking & Financial Services) to the logistics industry, from IT to tourism, from healthcare to legal services. These new methods of production and service delivery will lead to greater production volumes within stipulated times, better quality products in terms of market competition. So, in a nutshell this is going to affect the entire design, production and delivery ecosystem in terms of efficiency, quality and quantity.
The impact of Automation on various Industrial Sectors
In the Financial Services sector, the stock/securities trading companies have reduced the recruitment of financial consultants, market analysts and portfolio managers. Instead, they are using automated predictive-analysis based tools which use the concepts of Big-Data to analyze and predict the ups and downs of the stock market.
Regarding healthcare and legal services, I would like to mention the development of IBM WATSON. It is an Artificial Intelligence based expert-query system, which is up to 90-95% accurate till date. It has already started eating up consultancy based occupations like that of the doctors and the lawyers. It is expected that IBM WATSON and other AI based expert-query models will change the face of healthcare and legal consultancy occupations within the next decade.
Coming to the field of IT & ITES sector, all leading mass recruiters of graduate engineers, i.e. TCS, Cognizant have started decreasing their freshers’ intake systematically. Lots of iterative IT jobs like blackbox testing, recursive code development, log maintenance etc. are now being automated using various marketplace tools. These tools provide basic templates which can be edited and manipulated in accordance with client and project requirements. Low level back office processing and support systems are likely to be automated many folds in the recent future and spread among a much depleted workforce strength.
In the e-commerce industry, all major global players like Amazon, Alibaba etc. are using data analytics to analyze consumers’ purchasing trends and thus create customer target zones product wise. This helps in reaching out to the targeted customer base with attractive offers which a normal kinara shop dealing in multi-brand retail can never imagine of. Grey Orange Robotics Pvt. Ltd. is designing fully automated e-commerce warehouse systems. ‘Butler’ robots are being built which can fetch and store products in e-commerce warehouses. ‘Sorter’ robotics is being used to automatically scan and sort packages in these warehouses. These robotics-based technologies are being used by Indian e-commerce giants like Flipkart, Myntra and Jabong. These butler robots can pick up 600 items per hour, whereas a human labour can pick up to 100 items per hour. So, human intervention is being reduced to the minimal in order to increase efficiency in the delivery system.
Finally, coming to the avenue of government organizations, many of the low and middle-rung clerical jobs like certificate generation, registrations, stock maintenance and paperwork for seeking permissions are getting substituted by automated ERP systems. All these repetitive jobs are moving from the paradigm of manual-natured to automated ones.
So, basically what I have tried to harp upon is that across all industrial sectors, human intervention at multiple levels of the production ecosystem is getting replaced by advanced technologies of robotics, simulation, predictive analysis, machine learning and AI.
The impact of Automation on the employment and job generation scenario
Mckinsey Global Institute reports that an estimated 400-800 million job roles or occupations will disappear into oblivion by 2030 across the globe. NASSCOM annual review report in early 2017 predicted a walloping 20-25% reduction in jobs in the IT industry over the next 3 years. The Indian IT and ITES allied services industry alone is set to lose 6.4 lakh low-skilled positions to automation by 2021. According to a World Bank report, automation threatens 69% of the jobs that exist today in India and it is pegged at 77% in China. This is a grave situation indeed. But just as any major transition in history has shown us, that during a transition chaos and problems will arise. In the same way, newer opportunities will also surface and the nations which will be able to embrace them swiftly will become the next global superpowers. PWC report states that AI will contribute an additional $15.7 trillion to the world economy by 2030. Given India’s strength and prowess in the field of technological education and a knack for studying mathematical solutions, AI and machine learning has the potential to add $950 billion to India’s GDP. These new technologies will require new skilled workforce. These fields will be the drivers of employment not only for the $150 billion IT industry, but will also provide automated tools required in all other majors industrial sectors. This represents the opportunity of the future. India is the fastest growing large economy today. India’s youth population will surpass that of other leading economies by a large margin by 2035. These favourable conditions along with opportunities which are on offer provide India with its biggest chance of being world economy’s biggest player. But the risks too are galore. According to the Economic Survey report of 2007-08, 93% of India’s workforce (including agriculture) was in the unorganized and informal sector . The latest Economic Survey report of 2017-18 says that approximately 69-70% of India’s workforce (excluding agriculture) is still in the unorganized sector. A majority of this unorganized sector labours are unskilled or semi-skilled. This workforce is bound to lose their jobs in the new production mechanism.
The duty and role of the Government in the field of Skill Development
The Indian youth of today along with the unskilled labour force needs to undergo extensive skill development programmes and courses to generate the skilled labour force India needs today. If this skill development does not take place, then India’s huge youth force can turn out to be its greatest liability instead of being an asset. Just as newer skilled job roles will appear on the horizon, the older unskilled ones will disappear at the speed of lightening. It is the Government’s duty to devise skill-centric courses and programmes and revamp the existing syllabi in colleges and universities so that India can truly arrive at the global stage. The Universities and colleges need to devise their syllabi in such a manner which can cater to the needs of both the emerging job market and the fields of research in these emerging trends. For instance, a degree course in Economics can teach the students the art of data structuring and deciphering which will generate the socio-political or economic data which can be used for exploratory analysis, growth in production and increase in efficiency. Contrary to public perception, students from Social Sciences background can actually contribute immensely in the new job arena with the help of their domain knowledge. The students from Sciences and Engineering backgrounds should be encouraged to participate in larger number of data analysis, data exploration, computer programming and robotics related courses. Courses in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning are not only about coding, but they are also about the exploratory analysis to unearth the various relationships among the data, which can in turn help in increasing production and efficiency. The students from Commerce background should learn the art of industrial indices data, stock market data prediction using various automated tools, which will help them to land jobs in the future. In a nutshell, what I mean is that this new emerging job market will not be limited to technical expertise, but will also include domain level expertise. Thus it will be inclusive of people from social sciences, commerce, pure science and engineering backgrounds. For instance, if a Multi-brand Retail Company decides to conduct interviews on villagers hailing from rural Bengal to identify the various popular products amongst them in order to increase profitability by enhancing production and distribution selectively, they can think of building a Automated Voice Recognition System for the Bengali tongue. For building such a voice recognition system which would automatically analyze the interviews and produce results, we would need both computer programming expertise(students from engineering background) and domain level expertise to recognize the various dialects of the Bengali tongue(students from humanities background). Thus an interdisciplinary approach would be needed for these type of projects. The courses for undergraduate students should also be designed keeping in mind the interwoven nature of the requirements of real-life projects. But if the Government fails to perform its duty in the sphere of higher education, soon enough we will be left with massive swathes of unemployed youth. It is our immediate duty to focus on the Education (especially technical education and domain level expertise) sector in order to produce the skilled employable graduates that India needs to tame the tiger – Automation and take this nation to greater heights.

How COVID-19 Impacted on Cloud Computing in Semiconductors & Electronics Industry ?
Tumblr media
Impact of COVID–19 on Cloud Computing in the Semiconductors and Electronics Industry
Overview:
An outbreak of the most dangerous epidemics called Corona Virus disease also known as COVID-19 has galloped the whole world with its worst effects and made world standstill in terms of movements of population, markets, cash flows, and economies. This outburst of virus forced various governments to launch lockdowns and commuting restrictions in the hope to contain this virus from spreading rapidly until the vaccine is invented. Lockdowns indicate temporary shutting of marketplaces, plants, workplaces except for essential services such as medics, doctors, and food markets. Lockdowns have negatively impacted several economies and sectors such as manufacturing, automotive, oil & gas, tourism, hospitality; on the other hand, it has also impacted positively on several sectors such as healthcare, cloud computing industry, and such others. The cloud computing adoption rate has massively increased due to companies offering work from home policies to its employees.
Due to lockdown situations, various IT companies started offering work from home to its employees permanently or temporarily, which requires to cloud platform access to its employees in order to get the work done and provide required information portal access. Logically, the majority of the employees worldwide is working from home adoption of cloud platforms and is going to experience a sharp rise. For instance, managing director of Google Cloud India, Karan Bajwa in an interview said, “The one thing we have seen from this unexpected outbreak is the rapid adoption of digital tools as more agile organizations turn to technology to stay connected and productive, as more and more businesses rely on connecting an at-home workforce to maintain productivity, we have seen surges in the use of Google Meet, our video conferencing product, at a rate we’ve never witnessed before”.
Earlier cloud meant, collection of vaporized water in the sky; but now when someone utters cloud corporates think about cloud computing; that’s’ how cloud computing made a corner space in the minds of computer technology students, aspirants, corporates and industry leaders. Cloud computing was growing at a healthy CAGR even before COVID–19 pandemic due to its features of low costs, application-specific cost and hassle-free storage facilities, since pandemic erupted adoption rate has seen sharp rise in the cloud computing industry. This scenario is mainly due to work from policies, businesses have gone digital, booming e-commerce industry, and other such sectors which require IT services to operate their entities. For instance, Director of ITU, Doreen Bogdan-Martin told, “Cloud computing represents the catalyst and the enabler of the important technological shift that was already well underway before COVID-19”.
Apart from the IT sector, other sectors have also started adopting cloud computing to ensure smooth workflow, such other sectors are e-commerce, healthcare, media and entertainment.
Impact on Demand & Supply Chain:
As described in the overview demand for cloud computing or cloud applications has seen major growth spike majorly due to remote workforce operating for different organizations. The companies that were earlier using the software are now shifting their operations on software as a service platform which makes way for cloud applications. All of the business sectors worldwide have experienced this pandemic effect somewhat negatively; however few technologies such as cloud computing could bring businesses back on track as it offers remote work facilities at low cost and being safe from this disease spreading. IT can bring back the organizations which are experiencing losses to no loss situation of low loss situation or marginal profit situation. According to MIT Technology Review, major companies are shifting to the cloud, “We needed to downgrade our servers to save costs, and we also want to increase capacity once the lockdown is over. We used the elastic capacity expansion utility in Alibaba Cloud for our product clusters, which automatically downgrades and upgrades resources according to traffic volume. As our business grows, customers will have new expectations, requiring more features, a smoother experience, and greater service availability”.
With pandemic continuing its havoc for about 8 months as of now, companies cannot be shut for long as economies are being affected; decreasing per capita income rate, companies increasing debt is forcing organizations to opt for a cloud application, which is generating very high demand for cloud solutions, according to Mirae Asset, Korean Investment firm suggested that growth rate would be around 58% for cloud computing adoption in Asia region. President of international business at Alibaba Cloud applications are cost effective as it provides specific features according to requirement at reduced cost which is ideal small & medium enterprises (SMEs) technology in this pandemic situation. Selina Yuan expressed views on cost saving by SMEs, “When businesses can purchase cloud products on demand, and scale cloud resource consumption up and down based on their actual needs, going onto the cloud actually helps them with easier access to digital tools and best-in-class technologies in a cost-effective way—and access insight and intelligence that could see them emerge from the crisis even stronger. This is especially true for SMEs, who can capture the opportunities arising from cloud intelligence without heavy upfront IT investment.”
Supply chain is not impacted due to this pandemic as deployment virtually done and no physical means are used, which ensures smooth supply chain.
Cloud Intelligence, Selina Yuan also explained about how small & medium enterprises (SMEs) are rapidly adopting cloud solutions, further explained, “As enterprises and SMEs move more of their critical businesses online, they will increasingly look for trusted cloud vendors to support their online footprint in an efficient, resilient, and secure way”.
Steps Taken by Cloud Computing Solutions & Service Providers:
With organizations scaling up their operations by shifting to digital technology and adopting cloud services; solution and service providers of cloud computing are providing cloud services to SMEs also at higher pace. Apart from cloud computing giants such as Google, Amazon, Microsoft and Alibaba smaller providers are gearing up to grab the opportunity. Even the small chunk of this big pie would generate large amount of revenues. Cloud providers are offering clouds with unlimited storage, features to send confidential documents safely and online communication for meetings can be done through cloud services.
Conclusion:
From the overview, impact on demand & supply chain, and steps were taken by service providers it is evident that the cloud computing industry which was already growing with a healthy CAGR has achieved boosting growth rate since the outburst of COVID–19 pandemic. Since the pandemic situation in the coming times looks blur and unpredictable and safety norms implied by government bodies are in regulation; work from the home policy by companies is not getting lifted cloud computing industry will surely experience the boom. Many of the giant companies such as Quora, Twitter, OYO have opted for permanent work from home of long term work from home policies which indicates that cloud computing is the futuristic technology and will stay for the longest of the time. Cloud platforms help companies to get connected on cloud platforms such as Google meet where meetings can take place and cloud offers secured storage of meeting material. And these cloud platforms are generating heavy revenues in this pandemic situation. For instance, Google meet achieved a 60% day-on-day growth rate in recent times and is generating more than 30 times the revenue as in January 2020. Goggle meet secures daily 3,800 years size of meetings.
According to IBM CEO Arvind Krishna, ““With this crisis, the importance of hybrid cloud and AI has accelerated. IT transformation journeys that would have lasted a few years are being packed into months”. He iterated a fact that digital transformation would have taken several years if pandemic situation did not occur. IBM launched several AI-powered services and hybrid cloud computing initiatives for its clients.
According to Managing Director of Arrow PC Network, Gurpreet Singh in an interview said, “Customers will consume technology in all forms depending upon their workloads and hybrid cloud platforms will reap utmost benefit from it as this has opened up a myriad of possibilities in terms of technological advancement”, he further described in brief, “In simple terms, hybrid cloud is the future of IT in the post COVID-19 world”.
Working from home, online business meets, online teaching at schools & universities, online examinations; all of these require strong and efficient online network which is wisely feasible with cloud computing technology. Even if pandemic situations are evaded cloud technology looks inevitable with ease of operations in which virtual things will ensure smooth workflows such as online meets, task monitoring, unlimited storage, and secured data. Digital transformation is the biggest step to future growth and adoption of cloud services is a vital step in the digital transformation of an organization.
Above statements from industry experts, it can infer that the market for cloud computing is looking bright in terms of demand as of now and is expected to grow at greater growth in the coming times. In the coming half-decade cloud computing industry looks optimistic and can be seen as an opportunity.

How Digital Learning Has Changed The Aspect Of Education
Tumblr media
Here, the most talked word of the year “online” or “digital” or “remote” has revamped the business, routine life, health and education system. People have reached the point of judgement that digital is new normal now, nothing more. Technology existed even before, learning management was still doing well, computers and mobile applications were still being used. So, what is so changed now?
Education system is empowered now. It is remotely interactive now. Learning has become Experimental now. Responsibilities getting multiplied each day. Advanced technology and learning tools are shared amongst learners now.
Moreover, online learning has opened plenty of opportunities, coming via technical sources. People from behind the gadgets can sit along with their kids, while embracing home like learning.
Customized Learning
Face Monday test, Friday test, weekly test and monthly test perceived to be a monotonous process. It was uneven to every student. Preparing for exams, sitting in a row, a long-drawn wait for results is what became irregular now. Education is no longer dependent on one way of teaching method. It is what became personalized. Teachers, keeping in mind facilitate the teaching methods as per student’s core learning skills. With the approach, the link between students and teachers grows in upward spiral motion.
Personalised learning is possible through integrated process like that of Learning Management systems that have been doing well in schools and institutions. From primary to higher, from curriculum based to examination based, content is prepared as per the needs of students.
Efficient resources, curated school-curriculum, quality content printed in education books that are designed by recognised digital publishing companies.
Integrated Learning
Learners sitting anywhere around the world can imbibe much better on learning gadgets. Academics is fun-learning. Live calls with instructors are one such collaborative medium of communication. Learning together enhances wide array of growth and development. Reading through graphs and diagrams is interactive. Critically based problems can be taught easily through machine learning software at online learning platforms. Learning experience is unique for both students and learners here.
Technology brings opportunities, in the case, where hundreds of e-publishing companies are opened to digital opportunities. This is an expanded source to career building. Educational resources, tools and technology is an ultimate element of learning and this is impossible without digital support to book publishers in India.
Flexible Learning
Learning is awesome if it’s could be performed anytime, anywhere. Learning is remote just like your portable gadgets at home. Laptops, iPad, tablets and even learning is accessible on mobile phones, makes the learning experience much more flexible. The journey from classrooms to mobile phones is a milestone one. All these tools play and integral role in student’s learning growth, if used wisely. Not only vital for learners but also a far-reaching tool for teachers in the digital classrooms. They can simply use them to conduct quizzes, profile-review, e-book-review, discover digital publishing solutions (for teachers) multiple activities together etc
I never wondered this before that mobile phone could be used as a source of learning other than entertainment, calling & messaging. Moreover, students adapt skills in managing devices, software and apps through AI advancement.
In case, you are thinking about unlocking these digital features, on any reputed digital publishing platforms, then Macmillan Education is the choice I suggest. A manga that will teach you to think about on your own first!
I really like this i brought home a succubus who failed to find a job manga, this is a terrific light manga as well as certainly a worth read. It's about a fascinating globe, a significant character in addition to terrific pacing I such as. Yes, our major character is just a homicidal, egotistical psychotic, but is everyone, so you may aswell choose him. I believe completed I enjoy one of one of the most concerning the book is the reality that although the main personality will make choices you don ´ t agree or such as with, they're consistent and still relatively practical with the major personalities's confirmed personality.
Although he's "a little" OP, he doesn ´ t abruptly get through outright stamina of item guard and also test some huge family members. He protects against obtaining the mistake for getting rid of beneficiaries of solid people, unlike lots of different common xianxia lead characters and is clever. Also as it refers to love it ´ s absolutely nothing like he's maybe a lecher or thickheaded, instead he takes the facility path by easing tension and making love for pleasure, although not creating any kind of type of psychological connections whatsoever. Although I'm somewhat damaging to Anna, i believe that his approach of handling their relationship was the most effective considering his objectives in personality and also life. Therefore defined I like the main character.
Like lots of people our main personality is not scientist whatsoever! All his researcher element originate from the absurd OP AI chip he's in his previous life that obtained relocated along with him! And also he does not have the perspective of researcher! Study, the evaluation as well as reduction the researcher will frequently have is executed by his unreasonably OP AI cpu! Additionally it was finished in problem of min! The MC merely take specifically what the AI processor take into consideration without least reluctance as their very own! Very clinical of him! No job whatsoever!
He's only your normal xianxia personality with OP artefact! Nevertheless the difference is he relies on his AI cpu a great deal of! Examining marvel? Studying something? Do not understand someone is adversary or pal? Getting away from harmful scenario? His AI cpu fixes all his problem! And also he can refrain from doing something without any help of his AI processor futari ecchi manga
There's extra concern too! He's uncaring, self focused, unbelievably computing and also not influenced by feelings! That is excellent, I enjoy a story that has a wise major character like i brought home a succubus who failed to find a job manga. However, his personality stopping him to really have fan or a great good friend! The major personality even might reject them when there is no benefit quit as well as simply does not worry about them! Having much less character-building for all those numbers does not help them both!
In addition to the story of i brought home a succubus who failed to find a job manga itself still has numerous troubles! The major char is someone that avoid trouble considerably! He prevents the banner that'll cause excellent struggle! He's so subtle and also determining for this reason he's a number of adversaries! And unlike other account where the main character is experienced by difficulties frequently, his AI processor make certain he runs into a number of troubles! Due to he differs from someone that is within the middle of battle, but a lot more like spectator! If you also have stress as a result of the exclamation mark and review this review, obtain accustomed to it! This story is high in exclamation mark and also you'll experience it a large amount within this tale! If you're looking for an excellent adventure as well as sci-fi manga to read, then I exceptionally advise it. Horizon Zero Dawn (PlayStation 4)
Tumblr media
youtube
Horizon Zero Dawn, developed by Guerrilla Games, was released in the same month as arguably one of the best games of the year - The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (click the link for my review of that game).  For that reason, above all, Horizon has had to suffer comparisons with BOTW despite the fact that, apart from both games being open world, and being set in a post-apocalyptic world dominated by robots (an unfortunate coincidence to be sure), they are very different games.  The question that would constantly be asked on the internet  was: “which game is better - Horizon Zero Dawn or Breath of the Wild?”
First of all, my answer to that question is: Breath of the Wild.  Even if you remove the Zelda trappings of BOTW, that game is one of the most magical gaming experiences I’ve ever had.  The scope and depth of the world in that game is staggering and I continue to learn new things that I had somehow missed in my playthrough to this day!
That being said, Horizon Zero Dawn is better in many ways, from the combat to the excellent story.  Nevertheless, compared to BOTW, Horizon doesn’t quite feels as revolutionary or immersive.  Anyway, I just wanted to go ahead and get the inevitable Breath of the Wild comparisons out of the way to better... “focus” (hehehe)... on how Horizon Zero Dawn adds up as a game on its own merits.
The game takes place in the far future, where humanity has been reduced back to tribes, though living in a world overrun with robotic animals.  The story begins with a mysterious baby girl named Aloy appearing in the sacred mountains of the Nora, an isolated and particularly superstitious clan who immediately perceive Aloy as a bad omen and banish her from the tribe.  Another Nora exile named Rost takes Aloy under his care and teaches her to live in the wilds and how to defend herself against the normally benign machines, which typically only attack humans when provoked but have mysteriously began to get more aggressive as of late.
Due to Rost’s training, and a high tech devise called a “Focus” that Aloy finds in an ancient bunker she accidentally falls into, Aloy grows up to become a skilled, resourceful hunter, but right as she is about to take the necessary steps to be accepted back into the Nora clan, the tribe is attacked by a vicious cult who have targeted Aloy.  In the aftermath, she sets out to find answers, not only for who this cult is and why they came after her, but even the lost answers to how mankind was reduced to such a primitive state and the true purpose of the machines that roam the land.
I normally don’t go into so much detail about a game’s plot with my reviews, but it just so happens the story of Horizon Zero Dawn is well worth giving mention to.  I enjoy a good story like the next person, but in video games I really don’t care as long as the game is fun.  Otherwise, a good story is like icing on a cake... which is to say, it has the potential to be delicious, but put too much icing on it, and it quickly becomes... unappetizing.  Horizon Zero Dawn gets the “icing to cake” ratio perfect, giving the player plenty of freedom to follow the plot in between robot hunts at their leisure, while also delivering one hell of a neat story in the process.  The storytelling quality is further augmented by surprisingly expressive character faces and a superb voice acting cast, lead by Ashly Burch as Aloy.
A brief tangent about Ashly Burch.  I first became aware her by watching Rocket Jump on Hulu.  In the show, she co-writes, directs, and stars in what is probably my favorite short of the whole season, “Fan Friction”, which she and Ellery Porterfield (another talented actress who should be in more things) argue over the direction for a work fan fiction the two are collaborating on:
youtube
It’s absolutely hilarious.  After watching it, I became curious about who this Ashly person was and what else has she done!  It turns out - a lot.  Her career started with a YouTube series she made with her brother Anthony, entitled “Hey Ash Whatcha Playin’?”. From there she would go on to write for Adventure Time and do loads of voice acting work various video games and animated projects.  So Ashly isn’t some nobody getting a big break here - she’s got pedigree and a lot of talent which all comes to bare in making Aloy a memorable, likeable character.  Aloy’s dialogue all feels very naturally delivered... although I would criticize too naturally, as there are many moments when Aloy would mumble important observations under her breath, which would then get smothered by the ambient noise happening around her.  Aloy whispering: “Hmm, maybe if I strike the Thunderjaw right in...” [SUDDEN LOUD NOISE FROM SAID THUNDERJAW DROWNS OUT THE REST] ...I won’t die.  Good plan, Aloy.”  That’s not so much Ashly’s fault as the sound designer though.  Either way, the story only works if the lead character is charismatic enough to carry the player through, and Aloy is very well-realized lead character due to great writing, great voice acting, and great facial animation (I really can’t say enough about how good the facial expressions are in this game).
Now that I’m done singing Ashly’s praises for probably the fourth time over the course of starting this blog (at least whenever I review an episode of Life is Strange), lets move onto the other star of the game: the machines, specifically the combat system when fighting the machines.  The game does a great job of balancing out the combat so it doesn’t become a simplistic matter of firing arrows at a robot until it explodes.  Every machine has different weaknesses, and victory is greatly reliant upon cunningly exploiting those weaknesses as opposed to excessive brute force.  This made nearly every encounter with a herd of machines super epic.  That being said, it made the comparatively simple task of fighting other humans rather tedious.  I enjoyed the stealth option of taking out human opponents, but the enemy AI doesn’t seem capable enough to counteract or catch on to stealth kills, making it all too easy.
When you get right down to it, fighting humans is just not as fun as fighting robots.
Tumblr media
The rest of the game is pretty standard really as far as they types of games go.  If I’m going to be perfectly honest, much of the basic gameplay reminded me of the new Tomb Raider games, what with the skill points, the crafting, and the exploration to find different trinkets, weapons, etc.  I’m not saying HZD ripped off Tomb Raider (which itself arguably ripped off elements of Assassin’s Creed and Uncharted), but that the developers chose wisely in the basic gameplay foundation to start from.  The robot battles and the storyline do enough to transcend Horizon over the games that it may have took inspiration from.
In a business where console exclusive games are more important than ever, Sony and Guerrilla Games has quite a hit on their hand.  I look forward to seeing where the series goes next (beyond The Frozen Wilds DLC that was recently released).  If you ask me, the next step is clear: being able to ride a hacked flying machine (also a “climb anything” mechanic directly stolen from Breath of the Wild)!

Wolfenstein: Youngblood Nintendo Switch Review
New Post has been published on https://gamerszone.tn/wolfenstein-youngblood-nintendo-switch-review/
Wolfenstein: Youngblood Nintendo Switch Review
Tumblr media
From front to back, Wolfenstein: Youngblood is very much the same game on the Nintendo Switch as it is on other consoles and PC. You’ll get the bombastic combat scenarios where you’ll tear through Nazi trash as the charismatic, dynamic duo of Jess and Soph Blazkowicz, twin daughters of series hero BJ Blazkowicz. And you have the opportunity to play it all alongside a friend. The portable nature of the Nintendo Switch makes this an even more enticing prospect, but the platform’s limited hardware hurts the game’s best parts; low frame rates and muddy visuals make the action harder to enjoy. While these issues are not prohibitive, they do make the Switch version the weakest of the bunch.
Youngblood is a bite-sized spin-off that jumps ahead in Wolfenstein’s timeline by taking you to the 1980s, almost 20 years after the events of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. You see an older Anya and BJ teaching their twin daughters Jess and Soph the means of survival, just before BJ goes missing. With the help of Abby, daughter of Grace Walker from The New Colossus, you’re able to track him down in Nazi-occupied France, particularly Neu-Paris.
Not long after the introductory mission do you see how Youngblood breaks off from the traditional Wolfenstein structure; Neu-Paris acts as a group of separate hub areas where most of the action takes place. Many of the side quests and random events in these areas feel more like filler and will eventually have you running through familiar areas frequently. If anything, it’s at least a means of familiarizing yourself with the intricacies of the Dishonored-influenced districts. Main missions branch off from the hub areas, and in these missions are where you’ll find the relentless, challenging firefights that keep up a satisfying momentum. This is where Youngblood truly shines on the PC version, however, due to the Switch’s technical limitations, it doesn’t quite hit the same highs. [Read our PC review for our full thoughts.]
Overall, technical performance hampers some of the great FPS action as it makes aiming, movement, and reacting a bit more difficult.
Light RPG elements are new to the Wolfenstein franchise, and they don’t shake up the formula too much, but make for some enjoyable twists. You’ll earn XP and level up to drop points into a skill tree that grants new abilities or buffs to make you more effective in combat. You can upgrade weapons to fire with even more impact or change the way they function altogether. There’s also an armor-type element to strong enemies that’ll have you juggling between certain weapons to lay down the most damage. All these small changes serve to bring a slightly more dynamic edge to a solid FPS foundation.
Youngblood is wrapped in the idea of cooperative play, which is a blast. Friends (or randoms) can jump into your session easily and the game-state will remain untouched–the AI simply gets taken over by the player, and vice-versa when they leave. Pep signals are core to the co-op experience; these are cooldowns that grant useful buffs or clutch armor/health recharges. The revive system is another key to teamwork that sort of comes in place of traditional checkpoints. Outside of pep signals though, there feels like a lack of synergetic co-op gameplay features, like tag-team attacks or teamwork-centric capabilities, and it feels like a missed opportunity. It’s worth noting that you will need to have a Nintendo Switch Online account to do any sort of co-op play, however.
When it comes to the Switch version specifically, the question on many minds is: how well does it run? To that, I would say: not great. The frame rate is the most noticeable shortcoming as the game generally runs at sub-30 FPS and chugs when the action gets intense in both docked and undocked modes. There’s also heavy use of motion blur to help smooth over the low frame rate. Overall, technical performance hampers some of the great FPS action as it makes aiming, movement, and reacting a bit more difficult.

While not as important, the downgrade in visual quality is readily apparent. The game runs at 540p handheld and 720p docked, but uses some sort of dynamic resolution for assets and character models to help keep the frame rate in check. This turns things into blocky messes in certain combat scenarios that take place in large environments. And the low resolution and a gray foggy haze slightly obscures objects and enemies in the distance, making them difficult to identify.
Youngblood suffers as a result of the Switch’s relatively underpowered hardware, but for all its technical shortcomings, the game still delivers intense, momentous, and challenging combat. Everything features-wise remains intact, and you’ll get to enjoy taking a shotgun (or fully charged laser beam) to the heads of Nazi scum. The Blazkowicz sisters, Jess and Soph, bring their own unique swagger to the Wolfenstein franchise, too. So if the Switch version is your only way of playing Youngblood, you can be confident it’s still one hell of a ride.
