Siguiendo con esto de que la pubertad y adolescencia son horribles, me fui hasta Nueva Zelandia. Allá encontramos a Boy, un cabro chico de 11 años, que está comenzando las vacaciones escolares. Vive con su adorable abuela, cuatro primos chicos y con Rocky, su hermano menor, quien cree que tiene poderes, porque su madre falleció cuando él nació. 

Luego de que su abuela se marchara por una semana debido a un funeral, el padre de Boy y Rocky llega inesperadamente y se toma la casa junto a dos amigos de su súper banda callejera. Alamein es en realidad un pelmazo, un flojo que no le trabaja un día a nadie y que se cree el más choro del pueblo, lo que contrasta con la visión de héroe y valiente rebelde que Boy tenía de él.

Algunos papás no tienen idea lo mucho que pueden dañar a sus propios hijos y Taika Waititi cree que está bien hacerle esto a mi salud mental.
