season 1: leshawna's elimination. just... utter bullshit. closely followed by geoff's. also utter bullshit. in fact heather's whole plot armor was meh

season 2: sorry guys but courtney's entire arc. i can't stand her in TDA. she's meh to okay at best in TDI and fine until the gwuncan stuff in TDWT, after that i just can't even. she's so annoying sorry <//3

season 3: EZEKIEL'S MUTANT ARC COME ONNN MY MAN DESERVES BETTER LET HIM BE HAPPY FUCK YOU

season 4: the all-men finale. we should've gotten a zoey vs cameron finale. boo

season 5: the fact that it exists. i have so many problems with it, it's hard to narrow it down to just one single part i hated most, but there is one! i hated how every character was dumbed down. heather just telling alejandro she had the idol. alejandro just telling mal he had proof he was evil. many eliminations. the fact that the final five was... well, that. but most, i hated mal's arc and how mike was 'cured' of DID by pressing a button. i won't speak much on it since it's nowhere near my expertise nor business as a singlet but i would imagine that is. not how it fucking works. at all and just such a sad sterotyped thing to add an eViL alter to the poor guy just to give him more substance. plus i've discussed this with a mutual before but mal just feels like max taken seriously by the narrative. yeah i hate this season there's a reason it gets trampled in my fic

season 6: there was so much potential for max to be a hero and stand up to scarlett. like. so much. i love him he deserved better. that's not the worst tho and if you're new here let me tell you I FUCKING HATE DAVE. OKAY. i have a BIG issue with that guy which is half because he reminds me of some asshole i know irl and half because he just fucking sucks. i don't get any dave ship, any dave love, anything at all. there is nothing to like about him. he is genuinely one of the very few total drama characters that i can't even make up the substance he lacks. just. fuck dave

season 7 (RR): the daters and best friends fell so flat for me in different ways. the daters were just so annoying and i couldn't have been happier at their elimination. the best friends just felt so forced to me. i mean i'm also a romance-repulsed(-ish, not always, it's complicated) aromantic but oh my goddd... they dragged on for sooo loooongggggggg

season 8: the jurasic fart episode. also how chase treated emma. again fuck these allos /j

season 9: PRILEB. OKAY LISTEN. i fucking LOVE prileb BUT i also fucking HATEEE them. they could've been so good if priya was just eliminated earlier. caleb could've had more to him than priya's misunderstood boyfriend, he could've made alliances and friends, but noooo just give him an entire miscommunication arc FUCK YOU yeah prileb could've been so good if it was good (total drama catchphrase)

Despite her being the main character, Gwen is not my favourite tdi character or even favourite lidl character.

My favourite tdi character is heather, but I figured Gwen would make for a good main character, and I had a lot to write around it.

And my favourite lidl character doesn’t exist by that I mean I love all my characters. But it’s definitely Justin I lied. Despite what my writing might say I prefer the funny comedic characters rather than the serious main ones. So yes vito is my favourite Mike alter here and Blainley is a favourite too.

So i watched the first half of ROTI! i don't have many thoughts honestly?

I don't care for Staci, i'll be honest. Her gimmick is repetitive and im glad she got booted first if this was the only thing the writters were gonna do with her. It would be funny if there was a grain of truth to her claims tho.

Dakota's pretty fun and i like the added focus on the interns this season, because let's be honest outside of one "haha the interns keep dying" joke in both TDI and TDWT there isn't much i belive? So yeah

also samkota's cute, idk what to say? God i wish the writters explored Dakota's character before the whole mutation thing.

Honestly all the ROTI girls are great, wish they got more than arcs about which boy they wanted to kiss because MAN ANNE MARIA AND JO ARE GREAT, Jo especially, she's currently my fav of the season. I wish they did more with both of them man!!! I don't like the jabs made about her appearence but i find them fine from Anne Maria specifically? Like yeah she would do that! I wish the girls were fighting for longer!

Dawn's one of the better characters but i wish her conflict with Scott lasted longer than one episode. Same with her friendship with B! What is it with Total Drama and throwing away interesting rivalries the episode they start at?!

B's fine i'll be real. I like how they don't actually make him speak! Other contestants do make jabs about it but like, they're teenagers, and one of them is from Scott and he's kinda shitty so it works lol

SPEAKING OF! Scott's pretty fun! He's not the best antagonist ever but he's fun to watch and that's enough for me rn. He's pathetic and shitty it's great

Team man is also fun, i like Brick especially. Don't like the frequency of the pissing himself jokes tho. Like, i get it! he's a military boy who likes fashion and pisses himself! Do something else!

I don't care for Cameron i'll be real. Neither for Zoey, i wish her flaws were explored more because dang she's judgy in episode 5!

I guess i'll talk about Mike here too? I think he's ok, but man i wish his alters were treated more like people. I don't mean the other contestants, i mean by the show. Svetlana's great for the small amount she's on screen for, and I like Chester and Vito more than i thought i would! Please show explore them a little more! (and, well, to state the obvious, don't call it mpd why did it call it mpd it wasn't even the actual term for it when the show was being written)

My least favorite part is the love triangle tho. It's suffering from a critical case of "Warrior's miscommunication": a miscommunication plotline that could be solved in a single conversation, but the characters involved don't tell anyone because we need to stretch this book to 300 pages! or in this case, the plotline to last the whole season!

I get Mike not wanting to tell Zoey because his whole thing is not wanting to tell people, and Vito not telling Anne Maria because he's fucking dumb and considering his relationship with Anne Maria wasn't in a position where he needed to disclose it, but LIKE!!! COME ON MAN!!! this could be solved so easily and they just,,, didn't. Also why can't Vito still date Anne Maria at the end he's his own person!

i'll be real i think i like the idea that Anne Maria and Vito are still friends they just make-out too, mostly because that's all they really do in the show (and also i like Jomaria more)

I don't care for Lightning oops. He's funny sometimes. The "Jo is a guy" jokes get old quick tho.

The challenges are fine? I think a couple are pretty good (the treasure hunt for instance) but a couple are less good? (the Obstacle Course is eh, i don't really care about the mine one) but honestly i wish they just executed a couple better. Like the Embarrasing questions, climbing the mountain, hell even the relay-race could've honestly been wayyy better than they actually were! At least they're camp related!

But yeah so far ROTI's pretty good, 6/10 with 8/10 characters.

I like it! It’s not my favorite season (TDI is lol), but I enjoy a lot about it. I think it’s a very different take on the original premise. I also really like how all the characters don’t actually seem to hate each other. There’s no one who’s really universally despised like heather was. Except maybe staci?

Also! Lightening. Lightening is a VERY fun antagonist. He’s my favorite by far. I love lightening a lot. He’s definitely one of my favorite total drama characters. He’s so funny and charming but also sympathetic? lightening is good. Perfect character. Also Jo. Jo is amazing. I love her, I love her design, I love her personality. And BRICK! Brick is so cute and funny and I love him so much. I love his competitiveness with Jo and his no-man-left-behind attitude. Dawn is also very cute and fun, and I love Dakota too. She seemed very one-note but her development worked really well, imo. Mike is… okay. I really didn’t love him. But I loved Svetlana, Manitoba, Vito, and Chester! Svetlana is my favorite of the alters. B is also one of my favorites, my only complaint about him is that he didn’t stick around long enough. I loved him and Dawn, I think they’re very cute as a duo. I loved their friendship and I also loved B’s design. Cameron is also very fun. He’s cute and I loved him & Zoey’s interactions. Sam works very well for me, personally, and I love him & dakota together. Scott is also a very good antagonist, and his design might be my personal favorite out of the cast. He’s so fun to hate even if he wasn’t as smart or cunning as Heather. Zoey is… okay. She and Cameron were very fun together, but I didn’t care for her and Mike. Tbh I like the fan interpretation of zoey more than actual zoey. Also, anne Maria. I love her. That’s it. Basically I love the cast. The challenges weren’t my favorite because they were way too far out there and unrealistic while tdi was more based in reality, which is what I really like about the show. Even still I think the roti cast is my favorite. I mean, Courtney will always be my girl, but the roti cast is so ❤️❤️❤️ also lightening is my favorite. In case I didn’t make that clear enough

Island Favorite - Tri-Armed Triathlon Least Favorite - Brunch of Disgustingness. Eating challenges tend to be my least favorite in any competition show, and the episode is just one long puking compilation.

Action Favorite - 3:10 to Crazytown. Trent goes home and this episode in particular had a lot of good jokes. Least Favorite - Can't really pick one because the things I dislike about this season are prevalent in many episodes, not just one. I guess I'll go with Masters of Disasters because that was the start of Leshawna being treated like absolute shit for no (good) reason.

World Tour Favorite - Maaan this is a tough one. Maybe Greece's Pieces because it was the peak of Cody's arc, and made me root for him in the final three even though I knew he wasn't making it to the finals. Least Favorite - Can't Help Falling in Louvre. Sierra was insufferable enough. A whole episode where she pretends to be mad at Cody just so he could kiss up to her and beg for forgiveness for some shit he didn't even do? No thanks.

Revenge of the Island Favorite - A Mine is a Terrible Thing to Waste. Had the best Cameron and Mike friendship moment, which I'm here for, and Brick had the most genuinely heartwarming sendoff any contestant's ever gotten. Honorable mention goes to Up Up and Away in My Pitiful Balloon because of Cameron getting one over on Jo. Nice ending to that mini-arc. Least Favorite - Don't have one. This season is just solid all around. Yeah I don't like Commando Zoey, but not enough for me to call the episode she debuts in "bad."

All-Stars Favorite - No One Eggspects the Spanish Opposition. It gave us the Gwen and Cameron friendship, something I desperately wish we got more of. Honorable mention goes to Suckers Punched because of the Alejandro fight and that's the episode where Seirra goes home. Least Favorite - Uhhhhhhh can't pick one because like TDA, the things I don't like about this season span SEVERAL episodes and aren't isolated to just one. I guess I'll pick The Final Wreck-ening cause the finale really should have been a Gen 1 camper vs a Gen 2 camper, plus concluding Mike's arc with merging all his alters together is... super problematic for reasons that a person more knowledgeable about DID can explain better than me.

Pahkitew Island Imma keep it a buck, no episode in this season (off the top of my head) was impressive or unimpressive enough for me to pick a favorite or least favorite.

I guess my favorite episode is the one where Dave goes home and my least favorite is the one where Jasmine goes home.

Not sure if it's too soon to discuss TDI 2023, so if people want that, I'll just put it in a post separate from this one if someone asks for it.
