But he knew the kind of hard work it took to gain a following, and he’d been a loyal watcher of Deku’s for a long time. Even though they'd never met or communicated with one another, Shouto almost felt like he knew Deku just through watching his videos.

the last leg of this semester has been kicking my ass but i’ll be more active again once all my research papers are complete! 

IN AU NEWS THOUGH!

i’ve made a decision about youtuber au that i think will benefit the story as a whole. i’ve decided to split and kamishin and tododeku love stories into two separate fics. they can probably both be read alone, but will be going on at the same time in the same universe so! either way!

i’m in the process of outlining both stories from the original outline, and i think this will allow them both to be more fleshed out! so here are the title changes!

oh man my experience w mha was... interesting. back in middle school i met this person who was into mha and recommended it to me a lot and i was like "haha no.... the fandoms pretty big and apparently argues a lot and i already like voltron 😂" and brushed it off, swearing to never try it.

i knew the basic characters which were deku, uraraka, bakugou, nd todoroki — all of which i had no feeling of exceot for bakugou whom i IRRATIONALLY DISLIKED. so many ppl said he was a jerk but so many ppl also had crushes on him and i was like WHY. WHY. (laughing while crying now i know why)

in 2020 at the beginning of quarantine (like... 3 months in?) nothing piqued my interest n i wanted to try making online friends for the first time. so i started looking for big fandoms to join and make friends in. THEN on my youtube recommendations, i saw this video essay abt BKDK and in its defense. and at the time the only mha ship i knew was tddk, and i was like huh? bc the person who i knew made it usually only made essays abt the most popular ships bc that was his preference. and so i watched it and i was like OH. INTRIGUING? and thus started my curiosity for mha.

when i told my irl friends (many of which were mha fans/had watched it) i was getting into it — ALL OF THEM guaranteed id be a bakubitch. determined to prove them wrong i started watching it with an active dislike for bkg and

and then.

and then i fell hard. REALLY HARD. and started consuming bkdk fanart by the BUCKETS. joined a bkdk server. made my very first internet friends (hi cloud hi aus hi ty hi arioz hi v HAHAHAH) and started drawing for the first time in YEARS. revived my tumblr account that ive had since like 2017 and drew.

at around november 2020 i got my confidence to REALLY start posting art. i was active. i pumped out art every week or so and got to like 400 followers or smth by the end of the year. started reading the manga. started buying merch. started making more friends. made a server to plonk all those friends in like a little aquarium in around february 2021.

and now im here :)

"Heather" by Conan Gray but Kiribaku, Bakugou's gonna fall in love and he's gonna hate it and he's also gonna be a jealous little shit about Kirishima being nice and sharing his jacket with Ashido -- feat. self doubt bc he's kind of a dick and by now he's self aware of that ig (2nd or 3rd year I'm thinking) also I haven't decided yet but besides deaf bakugou hc I might also throw a trans hc at him who knows but if I do that's some extra angst baby ✨

-"Weathering With You" tododeku au!! Todoroki takes Hodaka's place obvs bc running away fits him. I'll have to shuffle things around to fit tddk and I crave dadzawa so of course Todoroki ends up with him and speaking of dadzawa erasermic family hello and background shinkami :DD erasermic family owns a cafe or coffee shop with their apartment upstairs. also of course Midoriya is the sunshine girl child as he is already a literal ray of sunshine

-a kiribaku steampunk thing based off the popularity poll designs where bakugou is ehh mechanic or smth haven't decided exactly what and Kirishima is forced to fight in an illegal underground fighting ring for the person who owns him (based off the fact that he has a muzzle ig) and you know Bakugou's gonna get him tf out (might tie in something similar with how Bakugou was restrained in the canon sports festival??)

-i wanna do a musician!Shinsou x fan!Kaminari and after some deliberation I switched it to Shinsou being a small youtuber musician instead of a big famous one bc that seemed a little more feasible in the potential relationship department to me, y'know?

-i also have a GuyLuke that's been in the works for-fucking-ever featuring trans Luke that I desperately want to finish but ugh I can't write smh

I'll hopefully write all of these eventually but who knows when smh,, and I still gotta do all the stuff for whatever the hec I called the series with the big house full of magical creatures

a good egg by dinosuns - TDBK turns into eggs? It’s silly, full of bad pans, but great crack and definitely don’t miss it. It’s hilarious.

Be Strangers Again by Seeress - this is a somewhat angsty BKDK piece, where they are 5 years post-break up and definitely, positively not dating again.

Seven Stages by Mikacrispy (E; BKDK) - Bakugou confesses to Deku, who then has to deal with the consequences of it and go through some interesting (and nsfw) self-discovery. 

Co-op by Mikacrispy (BKDK) - I am generally not big on AUs and prefer my fics in canon-verse or close to it. But Gamer AUs somehow are pretty fitting - and this Gamer / YouTube-player AU is a meet-cute that still feels faithful to both characters.

someone to hold on to by Esselle (E; BKDK) - Ten years after the events in Heroes Rising Bakugou finds out the truth. Also features Katsuma and Mahoro, who honestly could pass for BKDK love-children.

Don’t Paint Me Black When I Used To Be Golden by humanities_angstiest Will I get ever tired of post-Kamino Bakugou? Not likely... So yeah, it’s a post-Kamino Bakugou character angst, with a pinch of friendship (more if you squint) with Kirishima. 

growing pains by ArgetCross (slight TDDK) - the fic is mostly from Eri’s perspective as she finally expands her world outside of UA, while Deku is starting his pro-hero career. It’s a really sweet, angsty piece.

the lights are all out (it's a big big city) by shaekspeares - (TDBK) I already gushed about this fic, but check out the update for not one, but two hilarious TDBK drink-offs orchestrated by chaotic TDBK ship-captain Camie.  

Reactive by Yve_E (TDBK) - it’s a sweet little Slice of Life piece, where Bakugou is very very grumpy when Shouto gets hurt.

She usually went with her girlfriend, Tsuyu, but the large crowds weren’t really her thing. This year she had insisted that Ochako go with someone who really wanted to go.
