at this point i have thoughts about all members but hwa was my entry point so

yeah i initially had seen that asmr video and a while later probably deja vu or smth came up on a playlist and i was like OK this slaps...wait arent those the guys from that asmr video? and i didnt want to immediately stan a whole new group bc i'm a very cautious person about that but I was like...well...maybe I can just be a Seonghwa fan for now bc i was just so tickled by the idea of a whole idol who looks like THAT being such a huge nerd about something as odd as asmr which i also happen to be a big longtime fan of.

a while later i ended up falling in the deep end of everything ateez, first mostly just with their music (i realized i can count on one hand the number of songs i don't care for and everything else is extremely up my alleyboth in terms of songwriting and talent) and mv's, and then after i got to see them (first leg of towards the light na tour!) spent the week after the concert laid up with covid watching ateez instagram reels and im now officially cooked. but i regret nothinggggg.

and the more i watched seonghwa in mv's and performances and elsewhere i just got more and more drawn in. he stimulates the part of my brain where i hold the "am i attracted to this? or do i want to BE this? both?? its probably both but possibly more the second thing". when i was a little kid i had an obsession with the musical CATS (specifically the 1998 movie version) and i think i just love watching people move and use their bodies and voices in such expressive, beautiful, captivating ways to the point it can unsettle some people. i have actually had the specific observation that some of ateez's choreo actually really reminds me of the choreo in cats (2 particular examples that come to mind are the og wonderland choreo and also the intro performance of i think a music bank performance of guerilla?)

seonghwa is just so fun to watch for me, for that reason. the things he can do with his face, body, and voice? unbelievable. i'm a singer so i'm biased towards strong and versatile singers, which he is, and i have always been envious of people with tenor/bass voices and would LOVE to be able to sing those notes but also don't want to undergo any treatments that would cause me to lose my upper register bc singing there is also fucking fun and beautiful. the fact that hwa has both such a gorgeous low-mid register AND those soaring siren notes we love? on TOP of everything else? NOT. FAIR.

then the personality aspects. he just oozes a level of being so deeply weird that i just love. now idk exactly how much of what i see of him is "genuine", i tend to go with the assumption that what we see is informed by calculated business decisions but there are still parts of what is shown to us that are more or less "real" (if curated-as someone who parasocially cares a lot about these boys I sure hope that is the case, for their sakes) but i digress. it's delightful to see someone with this type of persona, real or not, out there doing their thing. it's freaking inspiring and tbh validating as someone who is themselves a deeply weird human and has been told as such (both complimentarily and not)

more on the other members later, for sure. the more i watch them closely the more i also see qualities of them that give me this feeling. i wouldn't be the level of atiny i am if i didn't. i always say that hwa is my bias but literally everyone else is a massive bias wrecker and i'm extremely ot8 they're all so. good and fascinating and hilarious and WEIRD.

(i also have to hand it to the rest of the kq team, the songwriters/producers, choreographers, stylists costumers set designers et cetera. there is something crazy going on in that place im floored)

I like to think myself as a kind person, I try hard to make people happy.

Risotto needs more people like you in his life. The type to try to make others, including him, happy and to be treated with kindness. His life is already harsh and unfair as it is, so I feel like this trait of yours would be key in gaining his trust and making him feel softer emotions for you.

He might be wary at first because “why me” he would think, but when you show consistency in your kindness and that you don’t have an ulterior motive, he would start to open up to you. Start to accept you into his life and to slowly allow himself to feel something more for you because he knows you won’t use it against him. He knows you care, and that’s big in his book.

Tbh I think Risotto would bask in it and try to return it through treating you with care too and trying to make you happy. He’d get you the things you want, he’d remind you to eat and to buckle your seat belt, he’d try to put aside time to spend with you, and so on.

Bonus points if you try to do the same to the rest of La Squadra too, he cares about them too after all.

That’s completely fine with Risotto. He’s not the most boisterous person, and he’s very observant, so he would be able to tell that you don’t really feel comfortable near people. He understands that and would give you your space. And because he looks the way he does, people don’t really try to approach you or stand too close when he’s with you either. Win-win lol

Bruno might be a good fit I feel. He has that gentleness and sociability about him that would make you feel comfortable at least around him, if not everyone else. But his gang means a lot to him, probably his only (makeshift) family left, and he would try to ease you into the group. If you’re extremely uncomfortable though, he understands and wouldn’t push it.

Polnareff would have it the toughest with this because he’s so out-going and ‘in your face’. But once you tell him you’re uncomfortable (or someone points it out or he notices), he’ll back off and respect your boundaries. He might not understand at first, but he doesn’t wanna make you uncomfortable, which is very sweet and considerate of him.

Risotto would think psychology is interesting because it deals with the behaviors of others, which is quite important in his line of work. He’s already intelligent and extremely observant too, but it wouldn’t hurt to know more, especially when you learn about the ‘weirder’ cases and history (I can see him being really interested in them, but for more personal reasonsksksks). Would also help you with studying because he’d be spending time with you, helping you, and learning some things himself. Triple kill <3 Although, I can see him being more interested in the psychology part compared to the plants, but if you talk to him about it, he’ll engage the best he can. If he sees a specific plant you talked about when on a mission, he would start missing you for sure uwu

Bruno would be encouraging overall. He knows psychology isn’t the easiest and he knows students go under a lot stress, so he would be encouraging you to keep going and to have resolve. He would also think it’s an interesting subject, especially the oddball cases, but IMO Risotto would like it more. However, I can see Bruno being the most interested in your plant hobby. He’d asks questions and if he comes across a plant that you’ve told him about, he’d smile real soft and think about youwu.

With Polnareff, I think he would think it’s cool, until you bust out the personality tests. Idk why but I can just see him having a blast with those lol. Pol would also try to take a nap on your lap when you’re reading up about the plants. If you wanna talk to him about it, he’ll try to listen and engage to his best because he likes seeing you happy.

Hey, so were you diagnosed with autism/adhd as an adult? If you don't mind me asking, was that difficult to achieve? I'm 25, and I've often thought I might have adhd, but I've held off on looking into it because I hear it's extremely difficult and expensive to get it tested and diagnosed as an adult.

yes I only got diagnosed last october, I was 25 then too! it was kind of a weird journey for me, all of my siblings and my dad got diagnosed with autism or adhd one after the other and I was still saying “but I can’t really be autistic/adhd” right up until I actually got diagnosed lol. but since then my whole life suddenly makes sense for the first time and I really think things are gonna be ok! this applies to autism/adhd/other neurodiverse stuff but autism and adhd is what I know, but I hope it applies broadly as well

so unfortunately yes, it can be pretty expensive to get through the whole process. depends on where you live of course, I live in Ireland so even though we do have public healthcare I would probably have been on a waiting list for upwards of two years to see a terrible psychologist who didn’t know anything about adhd/autism so I went to a private psychologist. I already knew her pretty well bc my siblings had been to her and I knew she knew what she was talking about and I felt comfortable with her. seeing her cost me around €900 which is definitely a lot, different psychologists have different rates but the price can go up depending on what tests u get done. the more tests you do the more expensive it will be as a general rule (at the same time I saw a different psychologist who had a lower flat rate so idk what the “rules” are about this tbh) I got a standard assessment as well as autism and adhd tests which is why it was so expensive. it used up pretty much all my savings lmao but after getting a diagnosis I was able to apply for disability allowance (which was a hellish process) and I got rejected and had to appeal the decision but I got it in the end, which is fortunate bc I quit my job lol.

recently I wanted to look into medication so I had to go to a psychiatrist because you can’t get a prescription for stimulant medication from a gp in most countries I think? BUT he’d only see me if I got rediagnosed by his psychologist, so that was another €300 for each of them. I did get prescribed ritalin in the end but I’ll have to get the prescription refilled a few times a year bc it’s a restricted medication, which will mean paying €100 ish for each time I do. fortunately I don’t actually have to pay for the medication itself bc I have a medical card.

so yes, it can be expensive! all told it’s cost me almost €2000 to get it all sorted and will keep costing me maybe €300 a year from now on, so it’s definitely something you have to budget for. especially depending on where you live, I imagine things are v different from country to country. also I’m very fortunate bc I still live with my family so I’m free of some financial pressure and I’d been saving for it for a while but I know how hard it is to countenance paying out that kind of money, and wondering whether it’s worth it.

as to whether it’s difficult to achieve I think you’ve got to break it down because official diagnosis is only part of it. so if you think you do have ADHD I’d look at it from a couple of different angles:

1. self acceptance/understanding is absolutely the most important thing. I know people who’ve never been to a psych who know they’re autistic/adhd and really flourish, I also know people who have official diagnoses but who won’t accept it themselves and reject help/support and they’re making things so hard for themselves. so the most important thing is to educate yourself about what adhd means and, more importantly, what it means for you. everyone’s brain is different and understanding exactly how your brain works and why you think/behave the way you do is the most important thing you can do. there are a lot of resources out there, especially online, - I’ll put a link to a google drive of books and things I have at the bottom - and it can be good to connect with others online as well. having people who Get It and can help you is really paramount, I know often our irl families/friends can sometimes let us down so sometimes the only support you can get is from following ppl on twitter or something. the adhd subreddit is weirdly helpful and supportive, it’s great to be able to throw out a question like “I think like this am I insane y/n” and have other people go “nah ur fine” it’s very validating (also validation/external perspectives is super important for adhd bc we can be extremely bad at self assessment). so yes, the most important thing is firstly to know thyself by 1) educating yourself and 2) listening/connecting with others like u.

2. is it important to have an “official” diagnosis? no and yes. obviously you don’t need a diagnosis from a doctor to know what you are, and 70% of the things needed to help you flourish are going to come from your own research and the support systems you make. and if you cant afford or access a psychologist or psychiatrist it doesn’t make it any less real or bar you from educating yourself/accessing resources etc. HOWEVER. if you can get a good diagnosis then I really would go for it, bc: 1) it opens a LOT of doors to official resources, whether that’s access to welfare, supports and accommodations at school or college, medication, etc etc. a lot of the time the supports we need are behind this diagnostic paywall, which sucks but it is what it is :/ so that’s one consideration. 2) it can be really validating and help set your mind at ease about whether you “really” have adhd or if you’re “faking”. like I said I didn’t believe that I was “allowed” to be autistic before I got diagnosed. I also didn’t consider that I might have adhd, I went in thinking I’d just get the autism diagnosis so it wasn’t something I would have found out on my own probably. so it can be good to get an outside opinion, especially as, like I said, we can be really bad at self assessment. 3) it feels good to know you have a piece of paper to throw at rude family members/teachers/doctors who don’t believe it’s real 4) if you can find a good psychiatrist/psychologist it can be such a good thing to have that support and to get genuinely good advice from a professional you trust. doesn’t always happen but if u can find one it’s a godsend

research and educate yourself. for adhd probably the best thing to do is read driven to distraction and delivered from distraction, written by two psychiatrists who are adhd themselves. they’re both in this google drive along with loads of other resources I’ve collected, there’s also books about autism as well. as a disclaimer not everything/everyone here has my 100% endorsement some of it is there for academic/historical interest or only parts are helpful but by and large it’s useful. also watch this video and feel Seen

look for a good psychologist/psychiatrist if you’re going for a diagnosis. see if there’s an adhd organisation in your country/area and if they can recommend anyone. a lot of the time you’re better going to a child/educational psychologist who’ll see adult clients as they tend to Get It more. do look for someone who is clear about having experience in adult adhd bc unfortunately even qualified psychologists get a LOT wrong so make sure you get someone who knows what they’re doing before you give them your money

yes it can be really expensive. but if you’re needing to access things like medication or welfare I think it’s well worth the trouble and the money. my sister got diagnosed in her second year of college and was able to save her degree bc of extensions on projects and things like that (I didn’t get diagnosed until after college and spent four years torturing myself I WISH I had known) and it can be something that’s better done sooner rather than later. So if it’s something you can do without putting yourself in financial danger I think it’s good to bite the bullet and go for it. like I used up basically all my savings BUT I now can access disability payments and medication so it was worth it for me. it’ll be different for everyone so use your judgement obviously

MORE ORIGINALS! Definitely hahaha I would love to produce more from my own brain, with characters and original backgrounds and scenarios and... Everything from me, ya know?  I have a book being produced atm but it’s going sloooow and tbh I don’t believe it will come out so soon.  Let’s see... Maybe Lord Loki will bless my head and things will come out! XD

There is something you don’t like when you’re writing?

Interruptions. I just HATE being interrupted when I’m in the middle of a scene cause I really get immersed in the text to give it details and life and when I come out abruptly, it breaks the whole climate and it’s hard to come back. Sometimes I have to restart a whole WIP because of interruption and it makes me lose the motivation to start over or produce that piece.

What books do you recommend?

OOOH, the list would be infinite! I definitely love to read!  When I was a child, I was able to read the WHOLE section for children of a library beside my house. I would go there every week and take 3 books, sometimes 4 at every time I would go. Sometimes I would come back there 2, 3 times a week. Then one day, mom told me I stopped in the middle of the children’s section and started crying cause I had finished the whole section and there weren’t more books for me.  The librarian said I could go to the juvenile section and it was when I started reading things like “Senhora” and “O Guarani” (by José de Alencar) and authors like Machado de Assis and Jorge Amado that are classics of the Brazillian literature that usually are read by people for university exams and stuff like this hahaha I’m now starting to take some risks and read in English - I’m used to reading in my mother language - and I’m starting with the books of The Witcher’s series, but if I could recommend books from my country, I would surely choose:

“Ninguém é uma Ilha” (Nobody is an island) by Richard Simonetti

“Os Sete” (The Seven), “Sétimo” (Seventh) and all the series that comes after them, by André Vianco - This one also indicated for my readers from Portugal cause the vampires that are the protagonists of the story are from Portugal!

“A Batalha do Apocalipse” (The Apocalypse’s Battle) by Eduardo Spohr

Sure thing! I’ll go with the ones I called on the last topic ok? First Richard Simonetti and his “Ninguém é uma Ilha”. This book I saved from a fire - a school’s library was being cleaned and the books destroyed or hurt were being burned and I saved it from the fire and it was one of the best things I did in my life. I like how he speaks about the turns of the “perfect” life of his protagonists and how their masks fall when the reality hits their faces. I like situations like that: when life makes justice and you see people biting their tongues... So, this is one of my favorite books - and I still have the exemplar in my shelf haha

André Vianco is a deeper thing: he’s one of the few authors in my country that writes for the themes I write as well in my originals. Werewolves, vampires, these aren’t a part of my country’s culture so, the subjects aren’t really a call for many readers in here and the fact that he became famous by his series with Portuguese vampires in Brazillian soil was really inspiring for me and motivated me to continue my original work - especially because I had the chance to send him a summary of my ideas and he gave me positive feedback and constructive criticism that made me work harder and feel better about my intentions to, one day, publish like him. Authors that reached the top and use their influence to stimulate the ones that are still beginning are really inspiring for me. 

Eduardo Spohr as well follows the same line of Vianco - a common guy who didn’t let the fame go up into his head and still supports the smaller authors in this market that’s so cruel with the beginners in my country. Also, his work is amazing, and “A Batalha do Apocalipse” is one of my favorite books ever! Detailed descriptions, good scenarios, but my favorite part of his work is the perfection of his passages of time and the way he can clearly situate you in the time of his narrative even if he’s dancing through periods, going from past to present to future without confusing the reader. I like it. I try to learn with it to do the same in my work. Now what to say about Anne Rice, Stephen King, and Bram Stoker? These are classics of the horror. They inspire me to continue working on my own story, to go forward even when I know the public for my kind of stories is really small or select. Their ability to write things that make the cold flow into our veins with that delicious shiver that rolls down through our spines is my goal and I’ll be happy if someday I can make my readers feel the same! That’s it! But PLEASE come with more whenever you can! I love this kind of conversation and how it makes me feel I’m sitting on a table, speaking straight to you as we drink some coffee together! I love to feel close to you guys like this!  Thank you once again!

This is why, when you come home, you're a bit disappointed that he's nowhere to be seen. Or, at least, he's not where he usually is, in the kitchen or in the living room, either cooking for you or setting the table. He has been there – you notice, though – because the kitchen is full of freshly cooked food – still warm – and the table is already set for two, as usual. Maybe he didn't hear you, you think, and you try to call his name.

«Yes?»

Oh, so he can hear you.

«Where are you?» you ask, even if you know it wouldn't take you too long to find him – your apartment is not that big, after all.

«In the bedroom, Miss» he says, and the way he speaks to you, together with the title he uses, somehow rings a bell, but you can't be sure about it. Maybe, you think, maybe you're just thinking too much. Truth is, you aren't.

Walking into your bedroom, you're greeted with the sight of your gorgeous boyfriend kneeling next to the bed, naked apart from the boxers he's still wearing and a harness you've never seen before, hands behind his back.

«Welcome home, Miss» he says, raising his head to look at you.

Oh. You weren't wrong, after all.

«What is this supposed to mean?» you ask, trying not to sound mad or anything – in fact, you're quite the opposite of mad.

«Is this new?» you whisper, leaning down so that your face is on the same level as his. You're talking about the leather harness he's wearing, and he's quick to understand, nodding.

«D-Do you like it?» he asks, tentatively, and you can't help but smile.

«You look amazing» you praise him, gently petting his hair. As soon as you speak, you can see his muscles relax. So typical of him, you think, to be this worried about such trivial things.

«Thank you» he says, releasing a breath he didn't even notice he was holding.

You smile, kissing his cheek. He squirms a little, but you know he loves it.

«Come here» you say, patting the next spot next to you.

Slowly, he raises to his feet, and then sits on the bed. Your hand immediately goes to his knee, resting there for a while, before caressing his thigh, closer and closer to where he needs you the most. He's been that hard since the moment you walked into the room, or, maybe, even before. When your hand grazes over his crotch, teasing him, he whimpers.

«Is there anything you need, love?» you question, knowing full well that he wouldn't dare to ask for it, no matter how hard he needs it. As you thought, he shakes his head.

Grabbing his chin, you force him to look you in the eyes.

«You're a terrible liar» you say, before kissing him. It's a rough and needy kiss, full of teeth clashing and lip biting – not the usual sloppy kiss that Taeyong adores so much – but the way he's moaning into your mouth proves that he's not against it, not a little bit. It leaves him breathless, panting as soon as your mouth detaches from his.

«I'll have you beg for it, love» you say, and by the look in his eyes you know it won't be long before it'll happen.

Your hand still on his chin, you make him turn his face so that he's looking straight ahead, and you're facing his ear and jaw. Slowly, you start kissing his neck – soft butterfly kisses – to rile him up, occasionally nipping at his sensitive skin. Then, you move to his jaw, till you get to his ear, the part where he's the most sensitive.
