Earlier I read your post on hoping to see a sex scene between Korn and Fasai so that you could compare their scene to Korn and Tonkla`s sex scenes. Now that we have seen them in my opinion there`s a clear difference. Could you tell more about your thoughts on the differences/similarities in how Korn acts around them and what it tells about these relationships. I have lots of thoughts on those scenes and it would be nice to hear how other people see and interpret these scenes.
OMG a 4 Minutes ask! How nice of you to ask me anon, thank you so much ❤️ So, Korn. What a guy. I'm so happy we got the 2 sex scenes, they give us so much info about Korn's character and what his relationship with both Tonkla and Fasai is. Now, let's start with the similarities, because there's fewer of them: - Korn doesn't initiate the sex on either occasion. Tonkla does by poking at his dick a couple of times and telling him he's "not only good at talking", as well as start kissing him all over his chest during the second round that never happened, and Fasai does by signaling to him he should... well, get on with it lol, - Korn uses nicknames to address both Tonkla and Fasai (I can't hear his words clearly, but I have a feeling he calls him Kla? Maybe that's why the subtitle breaks the name for some reason? - it's Tonkla not Ton Kla lol), meaning both relationships are intimate, - Now, I'm mostly adding this for the lols, but neither Tonkla nor Fasai enjoyed their sexual encounter with Korn. This happens for very different reasons though, which I'll explain later, - This is more of a headcanon than anything, but both relationships are transactional, even if KornTonkla doesn't seem like it is (or even FasaiKorn tbh). On to the important stuff, the differences: - In his relationship with Tonkla, Korn is the one who knows more about things he's not willing to share with him (mainly, his new shady job, though I'm sure there could be more down the line), while with Fasai, Korn is the one who's in the dark, - Korn is the one who controls everything that happens during his time with Tonkla (putting on the condom despite being asked not to + making Tonkla come, even though he was "fine not coming"), while Fasai is the one who's in complete control of the encounter with Korn, - Generally, the relationship between Korn and Tonkla seems to revolve around what Korn wants (what he wants to share, his pleasure, his schedule, his money), while the relationship between Korn and Fasai is completely controlled by her and her alone, - Since it's about Korn's pleasure, Tonkla doesn't get to enjoy the sex they have (it's over too quickly for him to come and he feels self-conscious when Korn asks him if he did + telling him he shouldn't bother helping him). The scene is very cleverly shot in a way that this isn't obvious, but I believe a re-watch and the second episode's context might help the audience see it more clearly. On the other hand, Fasai doesn't seem to be enjoying Korn eating her out, because that's not the point of the scene. It's all about power and control. She doesn't seek pleasure from Korn, she seeks his submission, - And now comes the point about both relationships being transactional: the difference, again, is about who the relationship benefits. With Tonkla, it's all about Korn - he gives him money and glimpses of affection and some of his time, for Tonkla to give back his unwavering love and... well, his body. I might seem harsh with this, but those are the vibes the scene gave me and judging by how he talked to him in ep2, I don't think I'm that far off. However, Fasai wants Korn's submission as I said, for which she helps him run his new business in return. It wasn't clear if Fasai is meant to be Korn's girlfriend or not with what little we've gotten, but I'm willing to believe that's the case - Tonkla knows about Fasai, he didn't seem surprised when Korn mentioned her to his father, so she could be what he passes as an official relationship while having Tonkla on the side, - Oh, very important detail which I shall not forget to mention: Korn wants to have sex with Tonkla, while his scene with Fasai suggested he's not doing this willingly. I'd say he's either coerced into submitting to her or it's just... work to him. Either way, key difference to the two scenes so I had to say it. I think that's all I have for now. I am deeply fascinated by all three characters and I can't wait to learn more about them ❤️ I'm sure Sammon will give us many treats involving their storylines.
#Thank you again anon I had fun#Honestly I hope people will stop saying Korn cheated on Tonkla when#1. It's clear what happened with Korn and Fasai wasn't the first time and#2. TONKLA IS THE ONE HE USES TO CHEAT ON *HER*!!#LIKE GUYS - HE'S THE “SIDE CHICK”#As I said Tonkla knows about her and about what he is to Korn#He just hopes Korn will start loving him like a proper boyfriend which won't happen#It's ok Tonkla dear now you have a hot-but-very-stupid cop to thirst after you#I'm sure nothing wrong will happen between you two ever#anyway I'm in love with Tonkla and Fasai and they can use Korn for whatever they want and I'll support them <333#4 minutes#korntonkla#fasaikorn#asks

Since Peeta is Bi (in fanon for most people) how do you think people react to it, like I assume especially since Panem isn't really a accepting place that there would definitely be some false rumours, but what I personally think would be a popular rumour would be calling Peeta promiscuous (I think thats the word? Idk I'm dumb) mainly because I see that as a popular thought that Bi people can't be monogamous or faithful, just because they like both means they can't stay with one person, which is a weird idea. Tbh idk where I'm going with this ask I kinda just wanted to share my idea of Peeta being labelled as unfaithful for his bisexuality and him just gasping like how dare they assume that
Hokay, so, everything I'm about to say is just my opinions/theories since there isn't really enough information in the text to have a definitive answer. I'd definitely LOVE to hear other people's thoughts on this, tho! As for how queer identity is likely accepted in Panem - I think it depends on what side of the divide you live on.
THE CAPITOL
i think that The Capitol is likely pretty queer friendly. So much of the "fashion" and "artistry" of the Capitol is so reminiscent of 1950s ball culture that it's difficult not to see some sort of cultural inspiration.
I think that likely an aspect of the "panem et circenses" we see at play in the Capitol would hinge on excessive freedoms of expression. You have the freedom (obligation) to be anything and everything you want. You have to spend to excess, have sex to excess, follow fashion trends to excess - otherwise are you any more elite than any of the barbarians in the districts? (This level of pressure and expectation is what I think leads us to the credit/debtors prisons/avox pipeline that is hinted at in the books) If the above is true then I could very much see the Capitol encouraging the exploration of sex and sexuality - maybe even more as a "trend" or a fetishization of sexuality than natural identity
THE DISTRICTS
I believe that the districts are subjected to the levels of forced breeding that we see in the underserved communities in the United States today. It is to the Capitol's benefit to keep the masses poor, hungry, and constantly supplying new generations of children to act as a continuation of the entertainment fodder and the work force. Ergo, little to no medical facilities, little to no access to birth control, little to no sex ed, and little to no social services or resources. This leads me to believe that the Capitol would likely force restrictions on same sex couples. I don't think it would be outright banning or criminalization - but I do see them passing ordinances that same sex married couples do not receive government assigned housing. (Especially under the pretense of the houses being meant for "family and child stability" or some nonsense. Something that would, on it's face, look good to the average Capitolite. "Look how wonderful we are to them! We provide homes so people can build families!" I could also see them say that same sex couples aren't allowed to adopt children as that can be a potential "abuse of the tessera system". This would be spun as "preventing children from being taken advantage of for extra food portions." So, basically, it would be an undue hardship to be a queer person within the districts of Panem. Going further down the hole, i think it would be a HUGE no-no within the Merchant (or equivalent in other districts) classes. Life in the districts as a Merchant is heavily reliant on succession. These business have existed for generations and are passed down within the family. The merchants also maintain ownership by, as much as possible, marrying within other businesses versus marrying into the Seam.
A young, queer adult in the Merchant class would likely be as heavily ostracized as Katniss' mother was for marrying into the Seam.
DISTRICT 13
I theorize that, especially after the illness that wiped out a majority of the population - especially the children - of District 13, that this District is likely the HARSHEST on same sex attraction.
I definitely see this district as having heavy restrictions on sex in order to control and prioritize insemination and fertilization. Hence why someone like Dalton was given the field of work that he was given, coming from the cattle farms of District 10. As for the second part of your ask, Peeta Mellark Everdeen would LAUGH at anyone who would dare suggest he would cheat on his wife. He's been married since he was 5, thank you very much.

Thoughts on the Ahmed run (spoilers)
I know we're only three issues in, but I thought I'd ramble about the current state of the union
My main complaint is the memory loss story--it's a little disappointing. I was hoping that arc would go further and have a lasting impact on Matt; but he remembers everything so fast. Within the first issue he was back in the suit, and it feels like he moved on so easily from the trauma of everything.
Idk, I think it makes his sacrifice from Zdarsky's run feel a bit meaningless.
However, I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt, and wait for a while to see how it goes.
I'm loving Matt as a priest at the group home. It feels a little bit like a nod to the Netflix show, with Sister Maggie and the orphanage. Maybe I'm just reading into that, idk. I realize a lot of people hate when the comics start taking things from the show--but I don't mind in this case. Plus, seeing Matt interact with kids is always a win for me
And the religious overtones/dark imagery? The moral complexity of his head vs. his heart? The duality of what he does in the day vs. the night? Love it. give me more.
I do miss lawyer Matt, though. It's been a hot minute since we've seen that, and I'm really hoping Ahmed will take Matt back to his roots at some point.
I'm torn on the artwork. There are some BEAUTIFUL panels (this one is one of my favorites) and the coloring is so vivid and dynamic. And Matt is hella attractive in this run so far, so that's a big plus
but also, there's something a little too... like... shiny? About everything? Things look polished almost, in a way that's a little weird. Sometimes the faces don't feel very defined.
I also think there's less weight in the artwork. The movement is a lot less dynamic and fluid than the last run. Everything feels a little like it's floating, the punches don't carry much weight, and it just makes everything feel... lower stakes, I guess.
I don't know, I'm a big Checchetto fan, and his artwork felt really solid and grounded. So maybe I'm just still adjusting--I'll give Kuder some time before I really make a judgement call.
Because again, there's still some really beautiful and dynamic things here. He's doing neat things with panel placement/shape, which breaks up the page nicely and has cool effects on the pacing
I've also got mixed feelings about the tonal change thus far. Maybe this is a hot take, but I'm not into quippy Daredevil. I think he functions best as a character when he's really serious. He's usually got a gravitas that really informs the way he conducts himself. The quips in the latest issue take away from that, at least in my opinion.
Then again, Mark Waid made it work really well. Ahmed could very well be trying to do something similar. Again, it's something I'll reserve judgement on. I'm not against a lighthearted Matt, per se. I just think the darkness makes the storytelling so much more compelling and grounded (which is the reason I think people are also tired of the quippy humor in the MCU lately).
I hope the goofiness isn't going to be a long-term thing, but I feel okay about it for the time being. Especially since it's only every so often (at least so far). The run overall still feels fairly gritty and grounded.
I'm intrigued to see where he's going to take Elektra as the Woman Without Fear. I was pleasantly surprised by that arc in the Zdarsky run (wasn't much of an Elektra fan until recently, tbh) and I'm curious to see what's next for her. We haven't seen as much of her as I'd like so far, but hopefully that will change.
All that being said, I'm actually really enjoying this run so far. I'm not enjoying it quite as much as Zdarsky, but I still think it's really excellent. Ahmed's doing some interesting things with the character, and I'm really excited to see where he takes it.
Anyway, I'm curious to know if anyone else has thoughts on the run thus far. Opinions? Thoughts? Vehement disagreements?
(bonus picture because I'm obsessed with the priest vigilante look)
#and I didn't even mention Ben Urich!! Crazy plot twist#also im begging you Ahmed bring back Foggy Nelson#when will Franklin return from the war 😔#daredevil#comics#daredevil comics#Saladin Ahmed#Aaron Kuder#matt murdock

Hey, sorry the poor wording in my tag suggestion bothered you. It didn’t occur to me to specify that I wasn’t trying to call you an ableist as I assumed it wouldn’t be necessary to specify since the demo is written to portray the POV character’s inner thoughts (?)
The text in question was:
“Maybe you should have stayed back home, lived like him : a miserable life with no purpose, no happiness, no work either - just be a parasite to all who have the misfortune of knowing you, pass the time watching TV and numbly wait for your death.”
It’s cool if you don’t agree with me, I know everyone has different perspectives and opinions and stuff. Again, I’m really sorry...my intention wasn’t to upset anyone and I didn’t realize my suggestion would be harmful.
heyza, thanks for the clarifications nonny <3
Under the read more ~
You cut an important part of the passage though : "Maybe your father was right all along, this world isn’t worth finding a place in, you’ll only find misery at the end of your hard work. Maybe you should have stayed back home, lived like him : a miserable life with no purpose, no happiness, no work either - just be a parasite to all who have the misfortune of knowing you, pass the time watching TV and numbly wait for your death." This is about Sam's father, who's an awful man and an even worse father. This isn't about anyone else or any group of people, it's really all about him and Sam's fear of becoming like him because they want so much more for themselves and because their childhood was beyond miserable and traumatizing - mostly because of him. Sam's father isn't an awful person because he's unemployed though; he uses and takes advantage of people, tricks and lies to everyone, even his own child, in order to get money or any benefit he can really. I was relying on this definition of parasite : a person who receives support, advantage, or the like, from another or others without giving any useful or proper return, as one who lives on the hospitality of others.
That being said, I can definitely rewrite the passage and be more specific about Sam's father and about how their fear and worries in this moment are coming from the fear of becoming like their father, which is definitely one of their biggest fear in life. Make it more obvious what the actual problems with their father are and not mention the unemployment aspect if that would help ? That's definitely my bad haha, it's easy to forget you guys don't have all the knowledge I have of the characters and their circumstances and I don't always realize what a passage will sound like without the context that I know but that you guys don't yet. I'll edit it and update it hmmm probably along with chapter 1? I might split chapter 1 in two parts tbh but I'll definitely change some stuff so it doesn't give the same ableist vibe you might have gotten.
Thanks for coming back to explain, do let me know if there's anything else you'd like to add and no worries, like you said, different people, different perspectives and all but we can always come to an agreement :^)

Hiiii! I just wanted to ask, since you seem very knowledgeable about this things🧐, what’s our best option for DM next season/ this transfer window? I know we have some La Masia kids( gosh saying that sounds weird when I’m also just 18😭) that are really good and I think you mentioned Federico Redondo at some point but I would like to hear you thoughts at this point in time. I’m not saying I don’t like what the club is doing this transfer window because they are doing a great job but the missing DM player on the team is really making me worried. Anyway, thanks for answering this when you find the time and much love for you and your spectacular blog❤️❤️❤️
First of all thank you, you are so nice!
In regards to the DM question, I'm not even sure myself to be honest, and I am really worried too. In my opinion the best solution, and by miles, was Declan Rice. I know he wasn't exactly affordable but I think the club should've at least attempted to get him and I also think he was worth shelling out a little even if it meant we couldn't afford as many other players. But of course, I understood that with the financial situation, it maybe wasn't doable.
The second option for me, and the more realistic one (well, kinda) was Zubimendi. I personally think he's great and would suit the team so well and he's also ready for the club (not as in 'he's top level already, he doesn't need to learn anything more' but just that he's ready even though ofc he'll continue growing and developing and getting better). That said, Zubi is as loyal as they come, so there's really not much the club could do, he wasn't going to come this season.
Now that both of them are out of the question, I think Oriol Romeu, which seems like the most likely one now, is fine-ish??? He's not a player I absolutely love or someone I think has the general level to be a player for us, but it's also true that there's not much out there that isn't a) very young, or b) not for sale/out of our league in terms of what the club could pay. So basically it seems that we'll have to settle for someone, which I hate because I think the club should've prepared for Busi's retirement much better and has had years to do so.
So yeah, to summarize because I got carried away, I think maybe the best option for now is to settle for someone reliable and temporary like Oriol Romeu and also sign a young developmental pivot for the future (my preferences: Mats Wieffer (highly recommend checking him out, he's really good and has an incredible potential too), Redondo or Vermeeren), while still continuing to develop the Masia prospects who are looking better suited for the position and with a lot of potential (Pau Prim and Marc Casado being the most obvious and most talked about ones, but there are others with high quality and a lot of potential too, like Gerard Hernańdez).
I've just realized I have not mentioned Nico (González) at all in this reply and tbh I 'm actually on team "Xavi should give him a chance" even though I've always said that I've never been fully convinced on wether he can play in that role in the way I would want him too. It's just that considering that there are no better options and Nico is a player that's already in your squad and who has shown a lot of potential and has a lot of talent and resources (even for an interior, which I know we don't need but if he doesn't work out as pivot you could still benefit from using him for rotations every once in a while for one season before selling him/loaning him out again), I think we should give it another try. But if Xavi doesn't like him/isn't willing to do it, then there isn't much to do, seeing as to how he's the coach...
#i gotta say I've also said a few times that I think just saying 'fuck it' and rely completely on a young pivot (like i mentioned wiefers#redondo and vermeelen are my favourites personally) like this season#just risk it and see what happens we have nothing to lose since there aren't many options anyways#just because idk im not a big fan of short term solutions like oriol romeu#but I also know that signing one of those young players and making them the starters could potentially be damaging for them bc of how#unflexible and impatient and annoying supporters can be and the entorno of this club in particular#which could end up putting too much pressure on them so I get it#but yeah I kind of would want the club to do that#also obligatory garciapimienta rant: if only we hadnt let jandro orellana leave.....#ask#anon#answered#fcb#barça#fc barcelona#sergio busquets#mats wieffer#federico redondo#arthur vermeeren#nico gonzalez#xavi hernandez

@mirrorfates asked: do jade, azul and floyd rn
JADE/LEECH
How I feel about this character
dunno if it's obvious- but i absolutely adore jade. he's quickly become my favorite character in twst. and my favorite muse i've written in a very long time. there is something i really love about characters like him. he's complex, two faced and manipulative. but still has a charm that makes him deceptively wholesome, friendly and inviting. best of all, people assume a lot about him, and he rarely goes out of his way to correct them. if other's assumptions are wrong( and they often times are )it's not his problem. they get to deal with the consequences. and don't even get me started on the more terrifying aspects of his character. if given the opportunity i really could talk about this eel for HOURS...
All the people I ship romantically with this character
mmmm...i don't have a lot for him tbh. he's a romantic character, but he isn't really the best for a healthy relationship. that said, jade/azul is my #1 hands down, the two of them absolutely manipulate each other, but usually to the others benefit. there's also the fact that...they've known one another since grade school( the equivalent anyway ). i have a lot of thoughts and ideas on these two actually. the kind of thing that deserves it's own post. which........i've sworn to write in the past ik ik.
a few though that i've been introduced to and enjoy-- are jade/riddle, jade/idia, and jade/yuu. each have very unique dynamics, and ofc with jade being jade...well.
My non-romantic OTP for this character
rook and jade are actually...no joke, one of my favorites here. they're both really really weird, and as i've discussed before...have really opposite mentalities. and these can clash in...surprisingly positive ways. it may seem like a stretch, but rook being a hunter, i feel they could easily connect over the outdoors. they really could be besties guys-- and they'd stay besties well past NRC.
sebek and jade too-- a bit more antagonistic, but their interactions during harveston made me so happy. they'd easily bond over food, i just know it.
honestly...the list here is pretty long. jade might be suspicious, but he has a lot of people who might consider him a friend...
My unpopular opinion about this character
IDK if it's unpopular really, but i have voiced my opinion about the fandom's general interpretation of his character. and the idea he could ever be considered yan/dere makes me laugh rlly hard. like no, of any character you could pick to fall into that trope jade ought to be the last.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
let jade drown someone. i wanna see it happen.
AZUL/ASHENGROTTO
How I feel about this character
azul is, just like the twins, very precious to me. funny enough, growing up the little mermaid was my absolute favorite movie. and ursula was my favorite character. so when i saw azul i was like !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! then i saw the twins and i was so excited! as soon as i finished chapter three my fate was SEALED! he also has a very relatable story for me: i was bullied a lot too growing up. granted, i don't have magic to curse people with....and im not an octopus( bummer ik ). but still, his character rlly resonates with me as sb who grew up dealing with hurtful classmates. All the people I ship romantically with this character as i said in the prev one jade/azul is my favorite!!
and i doooo....like some of the others i've seen. but i haven't really looked into dynamics there. as i...don't write the muses LOL. My non-romantic OTP for this character
i mean azul and the tweels in general.......pretty obvious. like i could give you a LOT of reasons why the friendship they have is...actually very good.
others i like are jamil, malleus, vil, and of course-- yuu. My unpopular opinion about this character
he's actually one of the character i haven't really disagreed with people on. i like him as is. i have thoughts, headcanons, opinions-- but nothing unpopular... One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
i want to see azul grow one his octopus legs back ...
FLOYD/LEECH
How I feel about this character i love him just as much as i love jade tbh. he's super fun, unpredictable, and very complimentary to his brother's more subdued personality. despite his capricious nature, and unsettling demeanor...floyd is very easy going. he can be lighthearted without being overly goofy. it's so hard to nail down characters like that-- but i feel like they did a good job here. All the people I ship romantically with this character
floyd/yuu is my favorite LOL, it's just cute!! that's all! silly little shrimpy, goes to see his bball games, and goes swimming w/ him. i think despite a rocky start, and with his general demeanor and behavior-- floyd can be a surprisingly good motivator for yuu to take it easy. yanno, to not sweat the small things.
another i've seen that i haven't really dove into? floyd/riddle. i can see the appeal there, but im weird ig. and don't really dive deep into ships for characters i don't write-- or plan on writing hgfjdhgjhf. My non-romantic OTP for this character
dawg, if floyd tried he could probably be friends with most people. he's just not as inclined to be fake...the way his brother is. capricious as he is, im sure maintaining long standing friendships is a challenge-- but well worth it.
i LOOOOOOOOOVE the basket ball club trio. they're seriously so silly, but it's clear they support and care about one another. i would kill for them fr. My unpopular opinion about this character
i do not think floyd is stupid. i just think he doesn't care, he wouldn't be in octa if he wasn't intelligent, or clever. is that unpopular??? i don't think so. i think most people feel the same way tbh. One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
idk actually, my wishes and dreams for floyd's character have been fulfilled...i just wanted him to score a slam dunk and i got that.
GIVE ME A CHARACTER...
#two faced sycophant; slippery as an eel. ( headcanon )#fucking ray making me write an entire essay#on the octa trio deadass#what the hell#uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh#long post /

I think there's a nuance that people miss with this can be explained in two main ways.
TL;DR: Percy *is* punk but without the Early 2000s Punk Aesthetic bc he's power-of-friendship punk while Annabeth is you-don't-know-shit punk. Neither are Prep.
One side to it is that there's a difference between being a social outcast bc you've been outcasted by society [the elements OP points out re: ADHD/dyslexia & pre-concieved judgements] and being a social outcast bc you've chosen to forge your own path in active opposition to the society around you (though the latter can, of course, be a reaction to the former). I think anyone in the latter is intrinsically punk, but the expression of that opposition can come in a lot of flavors. Percy definitely *is* a social outcast throughout canon, and that real & perceived isolation is a big part of his character. He is socially distanced from his mortal classmates starting in TLT, and has ongoing feelings of being separate even at CHB simply because of who he is (let alone in HOO & later as his powers continue to expand and the resentment/PTSD grows). I think the "he's not really punk" mindset comes from the fact that those active choices Percy makes tend towards standing up to bullies/for the underdog rather than idk spitting in the face of authority on principle or something. Look at Grover circa Yancy Academy, Tyson in SoM, Bessie during TTC (really most of hia decisions in that book tbh), his request post Battle of Manhattan - I could go on but you get the gist.
The other is that with Percy's fatal flaw, he's a pretty quintessential Neutral Good character. He fundamentally strives to do what is 'right' but "what is 'right'" isn't determined by an outside code/authority. He puts his friends & family at the forefront and acts in their best interest regardless of what outside opinion may be. I'm not even digging deep here, they straight up say it in canon:
"You do not know when it is time to cut your losses. To save a friend, you would sacrifice the world." [Athena to Percy at the end of TTC]
Percy *will* rebel against anyone or anything if it means protecting those important to him. It's just that the rebelling aspect isn't a motivation, it's a byproduct. (For the record, that's also how Dark!Percy makes perfect sense even without him being 'evil' and is totally canon fight me. He is willing to do whatever is in his power to do if it will benefit his friends/family and dam the personal consequences.) From an outside perspective - and especially from the gods' pov - all that's seen is that he is disregarding outside control (which he 100% is) even though he generally isn't thinking about it in those terms and his priorities sometimes align with what other want him to do. I would argue that's still the core of being punk, even if he doesn't have the aesthetics Thalia does.
Re: Punk!Annabeth, I think she's more "I recognise the council has made a decision, but given that it's a stupid-ass decision, I've elected to ignore it" in terms of her rebellious-ness. (Many moments in TBotL show this, but a quick example would be the sphinx scene). That's also pretty easy to tie to her fatal flaw since she'll take her own opinion on what is best to do over what others might say. Once again, you can easily see how the gods in particular would take such a mindset as rebellious, let alone other outside observers. Moreover, Annabeth's hubris-based-punk is, in some ways, more visible than Percy's loyalty-based-punk and she is often literally more vocal than Percy in those moments, which I think makes her come off 'more punk' from an outside pov. Plus of course the Thalia influence during her developmental years.
All of which ultimately comes back to a broader debate of what 'punk' means in the first place outside of the popular imagery . . . but I don't really feel like fully breaking open that can of worms right this second. This already became waaaay longer than I anticipated when I read OPs post.
So Punk!Percy is cool has a decent aesthetic and all but the problem I have is that Percy genuinely isn't a rebel and is mostly a straight laced guy who has a look and a few hobbies that make him LOOK like a rebel like Skating and Alt Rock.
He also is thought of as Lazy and Unmotivated, a rebel because of people judging his ADHD and Dyslexia symptoms without actually acknowledging that he has them and helping him adjust.
Like as soon as he has a teacher that actually likes him and tries to show interest Percy is desperate to be a good student and live up to those expectations. Both Chiron and Paul show that off.
Percy isn't a rebel or social outcast, he's just a straightforward guy who doesn't take shit from assholes. It's just most teachers judge him before ever actually knowing who he is.
No hate on the trope I've read posts where it's done VERY well I just find it funny that Percy is always the Punk in PunkXPrep Percabeth stories when Annabeth is the one who ran away at 7, who freely steals from mortals whenever it's actually needed and who is fully ready to shank a bitch no hesitation when needed.
Also Annabeth is the one who was partially raised by and looks up to Mrs.Spiked Braclets-Black-Leather-Green-Day Fan Thalia Grace. She has way more punk vibes than Percy.
#side note: the word 'punk' has started to look very weird after writing it so much#annabeth learned her punk from Thalia and Luke btw#chb and nyc are also included in things-percy-will-protect-at-all-costs#in case you were wondering#punk!percy#dark!percy#punk!annabeth#fatal flaw spotted#percy jackson#annabeth chase#character analysis

Akutagawa's Potential Response
Everytime I think about the new chapter, I always wonder what Akutagawa's response would be to Higuchi's confession if he actually heard it.
I mean that was what she was trying to do, right? Before she got bit by him instead of sharing a vulnerable moment?
Would he accept them or reject them?
You see my heart says... ' of course he loves her and they're gonna get married and be happy together bluh bluh bluh'
But my brain, who is little bit more reasonable, would notice that Akutagawa doesn't seem to have any romantic interest towards her (or anyone really) throughout the manga. There's no hints of it at all. It would be quite abrupt if he did. It's not really part of his character arc either.
But maybe that's not a bad thing.
This might be biased since I don't really ship akuhigu at all as a romantic pairing and you have every right to disagree with me.
However, I'm really happy that higuchi gained the confidence to try and tell Akutagawa her feelings. It's a step in the right direction.
It reminds me of a time when I fell in love with this girl once and I thought we were really close but I refrained from saying anything in case I break the friendship. Then a few months past by and at the first time I saw her again, I was so overwhelmed with emotion, I just sprouted out things that were kept hidden behind a door for so long. She politely rejected me and of course I was devastated but tbh our friendship is better than it ever was now because I didn't feel the urge to impress her anymore. I didn't rely on her attention all the time and began to accept the person I was.
Maybe that's what Higuchi needs as well.
If Akutagawa rejects her feelings, then that would be great opportunity to move on forward, to gain more confidence and independence for herself, not needing to be put on Akutagawa's good list all the time, just doing her best because she's absolutely brilliant when she can be.
This might be a stretch but it can link back to irl Higuchi as well. Her mentor didn't reciprocate the feelings she had for him but she used that pain of rejection, to write amazing stories and look! She ended up being one of the founding faces of Japanese Literature!
Furthermore, maybe Akutagawa would change his attitude towards Higuchi after seeing her be open with him because let's be honest, it could be better. Their whole dynamic has so much potential and I really think they could be a formidable team if there wasn't any of this unrequited love business.
Edit: Although, who knows! Maybe they do become canon.
I think we can all realise after chapter 88 dropped that Asagiri has no fecking boundaries.
I am quite cynical when it comes to romance too and though Akuhigu is really cute in a fanon sense, I genuinely don't think an actual relationship in canon will benefit these two at all. Akutagawa gets most of his development from Atsushi anyway and well Higuchi ... she would just stay the same which isn't really what I want from her.
Even if Akutagawa doesn't reciprocate the same feelings, I want him to at least notice how much she's done for him and be grateful for once for the people who generally care about him like Gin and Chuuya etc.
As Akutagawa will slowly get over Dazai, I think Higuchi should stop her obsession over Akutagawa too, ya know?
Whatever solution Asagiri thinks of for the final climax, I hope Akutagawa and higuchi's companionship changes for good because they are both amazing characters who deserve the best outcome!
But of course people are allowed to ship whoever they want and everyone is entitled to their own opinions. This is just mine.
To anyone who managed to read all of my rambling , thank you. It means a lot. I keep adding on to this so I apologise if this is very jumbled and inconsistent. I just have a lot on my mind :')

Mighty Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder rant
Seeing Natalie Portman returning to reprise her role as Jane Foster, nevertheless wielding Mjolnir, finally getting the treatment this character deserves, was surreal to say the least. I had just started reading Lords of Midgard, the 8th issue of Mighty Thor (2015 - 2018), and had fallen in love already. But I didn't suspect at all that Taika Waititi would pull this card in Thor: Love and Thunder, considering Jane was barely mentioned in Ragnarok. The news about my favorite actress portraying one of my favorite characters coming out of the blue - you can imagine the excitement. Alas, I quickly remembered what the fandom thought of that comic (at least on tumblr) and imagined it now growing tenfold, cuz not everyone in the MCU fandom reads comics but pretty much everyone wants to watch another Thor movie. And yes, many fans weren't ready for this step, still recovering from Sam Wilson getting the shield in Endgame. Which is completely fine. We're not obligated to like everything Marvel throws in our faces, we're allowed to criticize and express our opinion on the internet or wherever. What is not okay is mindlessly hating, and even worse - using false facts to support said opinion.
I have seen some people using the argument that it is one of Marvel's worst selling comics. Which has already been proven wrong by multiple sites, including Comichron, just Google it, as I did myself. I read multiple posts, ones saying how good Jane is doing as Thor in sales, others disproving this, so I checked for myself the numbers at the site mentioned above month by month to be sure. The comic truly had its downfalls as the story progressed but in my opinion it's normal for the 1st issue to have more sales than the 21st. If we compare it to Unworthy Thor, which started running a bit later and followed the now unworthy Odinson, the data shows the latter had more sales. But then again, while Might Thor was at its 17th issue, Unworthy Thor was at its 2nd. Also, they later crossed paths, shared comic issues, it's fair to say they go hand in hand and Jason Aaron, the author, probably doesn't want us to compare them, as they complete and compliment each other's stories. Still I decided to check the comic that made Thor unworthy in the first place - Thor: God of Thunder (2012 - 2014), which seemed to me more "comparable" to Might Thor (2015 - 2018). *I keep putting the years it was being released so as to not be confused with previous Mighty Thor issues, whole Odinson was still Thor, please bear with me* So yes, the numbers were pretty close, but from what I saw, Mighty Thor had the upper hand if we compare first issue to first issue and so on. (In defense of Odinson, we have to take into account that this data is only from the US and does not include digital sales. Also, he's been around since the 50s. We could argue Jane was a breath of fresh air that some Marvel fans were indeed ready for. As a non-American, and also a person without a hint of knowledge in economics I cannot take into account inflation and whatever else has prevented or enabled Americans to get their hands on the comics or has affected prizes through the years. Bear that in mind.) Moreover, from what I saw on Comichron, both comics had much competition - God of thunder was released along with Avengers vs the X-men, the Uncanny X-men, pretty popular at the time, and the Goddess of Thunder faced Civil War 2 and DC Universe Rebirth (yes, DC is in the game too), also dominating with tremendous sales for the longest time. Yet I stick with my original statement - both Thors are valid and shouldn't be put against one another regardless of profit. Because at the end of the day what will matter the most is the story. And boy, what a story it is.
Now, I haven't read the Thor: God of Thunder, but as I was doing research I found one very well written summary and explanation of Thor's arc and his becoming unworthy and I will post a link below, because I honestly feel I wouldn't be doing this comic a favor by describing it without having read it. Which I plan to do in the future, tbh. It's a fantastic prelude to the Mighty Thor (2015 - 2018) that I've come to love. First, I'd like to ask you all to stop hating on the comic without having read it first. It doesn't make any sense and being petty for the sake of being petty won't benefit neither you, nor anyone, really. Now, about the comic itself - the art is magnificent. It's just gorgeous. Mighty Thor isn't , thank all the gods, sexualized, she is pretty buffed and generally looks like a warrior. As it is with the other characters, I dare say. The background truly captures the essence of every world Jane finds herself on. Action scenes are just the right amount and balanced with dialogue well. On a side note, it's pretty funny to read/listen to in your head the Shakespearean English cursive in which Jane talks as Thor. The plot line branches beyond this comic, starting from Thor: God of Thunder and leading to the War of Realms. And it is elaborately built in every issue. You don't know what to expect, yet it makes sense when it happens. Which leads me to the characterizations. My God, what a treat Loki is in this. Clearly, my opinion is kinda biased, since he's my favorite character, but you never know which side he's on. What his motivations are. And it just feels so... Loki. His writing is brilliant. Almost makes me forget what the MCU did to him. Also, he gets some daddy time with Laufey (not as kinky as I make it sound). Frigga/Freyja is just as awesome as in the MCU, even more, at least in the comics she calls Odin out on his shit, who btw is I guess an asshole in every version and universe. Malekith, the main villain, is unbearably despicable, I want to tear every page he is on. He really was mishandled in the Dark World, if you want some true action with the dark elves, you are welcome to enjoy. I saved the best for the end - Jane Foster/ Might Thor. Now, if you think Dr. Foster spends her time boasting about her worthiness and how Odinson is just called Thor, but she is Mighty Thor, you are horribly wrong. She just... does her job. Because the hammer chose her. Because there's no one else to do so. That's it. If you think there's some feminism involved, yes, there sure is, but it certainly isn't the reason Jane became Thor in the first place. It was not the creators going SJW because it's trendy, as such a mindset is honestly offensive to any descent creator with any self respect, but a well thought out story arc, which, I repeat, you have to read the comic to understand. Jane is not at all whiny about the hate she gets in-universe, not only from foes like Odin and who-not, but from Shield and generally people whose asses she's saving. Her having cancer is not something they pulled to provoke sympathy and make her look like a victim - on the contrary, she is a damn hero and a victor. I don't want to give out spoilers, but her being Thor is actually a giant sacrifice that no one really appreciates (both in-universe and in the fandom). She is not Thor to prove she can be, or just to prove "women can be heroes" - she doesn't have to. She is simply needed by the realms and so she does her job, even though she is called a thief, persecuted and generally hated. All that matters is that the hammer finds her worthy - the beauty and simplicity of that fact you will find out, for the last time, if you read the comic.
I'm not making you read the comic or watch Thor: Love and Thunder. I myself don't know what to make of this film yet because there's barely any information about it. I only know it will be based on the comic so that's a reason for my hopes to be up already. On the other hand, since I didn't like Loki's characterization in Ragnarok, I'm not sure what to expect from Taika. There are valid reasons to not like the idea of Jane returning to the MCU as Thor, which you are entitled to. However, reasons such as "why does everything have to be political these days" are not. Because if I had to make a list of everything politically related in the MCU, it would take forever. Steve Rogers kills nazis is the most blatant example. Make of it what you want. But I think we're far enough into the 21st century to realize art and real life are not that separable. It's undeniable that art affects people and that is to say, people everywhere. And they all have different opinions and aren't gonna like everything media is offering to them. And I wish I could simply tell you not to watch the movie but I'm a Marvel fan too and I understand that I can't just take away Thor from you because I want Mighty Thor as well. But none of us can stop Marvel from producing it. So, to quote an image I saw recently, I don't know how to explain to you that you should care about other people. Let the rest of the fandom enjoy what they want to enjoy. Yes, ik I can play around with the tags and avoid posts that unnerve me but, for example, I'm looking up Mighty Thor fanart, which obviously isn't anti-Mighty Thor, yet I get attacked in the comics for anticipating a movie that doesn't even have a full cast yet. Ik I'm not asking for too much when I wish to get the same internet experience (not only tumblr, but also insta, YouTube, Twitter, any site) as the Thor Odison fans, for example. I'm aware I cannot stop all the toxic fans and the trolls but I hope this post has inspired those of you who simply can't envision Jane as Thor, or don't like Natalie Portman in the role, or whatever eles personal preference that doesn't involve political issues and isn't harmful to the community, not to attack every post on your dash with hate. The movie is called LOVE and Thunder, for God's sake. (on a side note, is a franchise that is too afraid to show LGBT characters for more than 1 minute so as to not lose profit from China, THAT politically correct)
Anyway, that was a veeeery long rant, sorry to whoever reads this but, like, please, I put effort into this, hoping this time around I won't be the only positive reviewer of a movie, like I was with Solo: a Star Wars story (yes, I'm still bitter about this), which was boycotted for no apparent reason but was a decent film in reality, and I'm only bringing it up because it has a similar experience to Love and Thunder for getting hate before even being released. I'm not defending a billion dollar company that flopped in box office once, I'm defending the viewer's right to media they are interested in. If you don't like the character, remember - that's your opinion, not a fact that the character sucks. Kudos.
Not very easy to navigate, I advice you to do the research month by month individually for comics you'd like to compare. Also, if you happen to find more reliable data, pls say so in the comments.
Here you have the summary and explanation of the greatness of Thor: God of Thunder, Jesus, I'll go bankrupt if I buy this one too.

Yes, I want to end the sales dispute once and for all, I'm tired of seeing it on my dash. This guy probably explains it better than I did.

Hi!!! owo this isn't really anything that has to do with a story, and it's very vague, but I was wondering what you think of the hanahaki disease au? Tbh it's really fine if you don't answer it I just wanted to know your opinion on it!!
Hi Nonny!
First of, let’s clear the confusion for anyone who doesn’t know what this ask is talking about. It’s “a fictional (emphasis on fictional) disease, often used in fanfictions, where the victim regurgitates and coughs up flower petals when they suffer from unrequited love. The illness can only be cured through surgical removal, however, any existing romantic feelings are also removed with the infection.”
Personally, I think this disease has given us some fantastic fanart, although that is a matter of taste. (So if you’re sensitive to puking and a little blood maybe don’t look it up.) I don’t mind the concept of it as a florist, it breaks reality in so many ways, so there’s a lot up for interpretation. The idea is interesting though I don’t think I would entertain it in its actual concept in my stories, but maybe have someone recreate it for… some… purpose… of being overdramatic, since as stated in the first sentence I am a fan of the imagery.
What I am not entirely clear on is what would have to be removed during surgery. It says the disease, but my guess is the roots of the plant which has nestled itself into the person, and my next question then would be how did it get there in the first place – did the heartbreak magically start the growth?
Not to sound grim or morbid, but an autopsy of someone who died of it would probably be interesting. How far did the flowers spread, did they continue to grow even in death, did they start withering when the body started decaying or was that instantly upon death? The flowers hold the bearers romantic feelings, so technically if they stopped feeling for any kind of reason it would mean the end of illness. Now I imagine there are quite a few more ways to get someone to stop feeling, so maybe it doesn’t always have to be surgery, are there support groups, people that offer odd cures all over the internet, swearing black and blue that this is how you get rid of it?
There are a lot of question in it for me that I would have to answer first before I could even think about working with this AU. It’s a neat idea though, so if you like it, go have some fun with it.
- Mod Jana
I agree with Jana that as a visual imagery it seems interesting. However, as someone that has a condition that makes me have to cough up much smaller things than flowers or petals on a regular basis, I would seriously not like to have this disease. I can’t imagine how anyone could cough up petals or whole flowers (I’m guessing they are bigger than baby’s breath most of the time) without gagging. What if one gets stuck? ugh. I would definitely opt for the surgery. It only happens when the feelings aren’t returned, so the loss of those romantic feelings seems like a benefit of the surgery. Like “whew, I don’t have to be heartbroken all the time because they don’t return my feelings and now we can be great friends.”Also, some flowers are weird shapes. Someone coughing up a Bird of Paradise or Anthurium would have a lot of troubles. It might be interesting for someone that writes these sorts of fics to play around with the type of flowers. Do larger flowers indicate a larger amount of attraction? Or are smaller flowers an indication that the other person is closer to feeling the same way? If they spend time together without flower regurgitation, could the other person begin to reciprocate the feelings? If so, do the flowers stop? What happens when the flowers being coughed up are poisonous?
So, I’m glad this is a fictional disease but I can see where there’s a lot of things that an inventive writer could play around with the idea for people that like it.
