38. Should've done this at the beginning of the year, but anyway...
What Happened In the Past Year???
How many relationships were you in?
None. I don't think I'm a relationship person at all.
What did you do for Valentine's day?
I don't really remember nor do I celebrate it. I think that was a day after I came back from Germany, so probably just adjusting to life back here.
Did you recieve your driver's license?
Lol no, I actually renewed it. It's been 10 years since I got it.
Did you graduate high school?
Nope. Did that in 2014.
Did you graduate college?
Not that either. Done with college in 2020.
Did you move out on your own?
I'm already more or less moved out on my own.
Did you get arrested?
Nope.
Did you get a speeding ticket?
Nope.
What was the best thing you got for Christmas?
I don't actually remember what I got. Tbh, we don't really exchange gifts on Christmas here, we do it for New Year's sometimes and sometimes not even then.
Did you fall in love?
Nah.
Did you become an aunt or an uncle?
Kind of, just not directly. Two of my cousins had babies in 2023.
Did you have a baby?
Absolutely not.
Did you get engaged?
Nope.
Did you get married?
Nope.
Did someone close to you die?
Luckily, no.
How many funerals did you go to?
None.
How many weddings?
No weddings either.
Did you turn 18?
Nope. I turned 28 ;-;
Did you turn 21?
Nope.
Did you turn 30?
Thankfully no, but it's coming.
Did you have a car accident?
Nope.
Were you old enough to vote this year?
Yes, and I did.
How many jobs did you have throughout the year?
Hmm, I switched from my old job to a better one and had 2-3 extra gigs on top. Ugh, but I seriously need a break from all the work.
Did you get a new pet?
No new ones.
Did you get cheated on?
Nope.
Did you cheat on someone?
Nooooo.
Did you start at a new school?
No.
Did you make any new friends?
Not friends, but I met quite a few new people.
Did you get a new car?
Yes, actually. Well, it's not new, but I finally got my parents' old car so now I can drive instead of always using public transport which largely sucks. I got it at the very end of the year, in December, so it's still all pretty fresh.
Did you drastically change your hairstyle?
Yes, I cut my very long hair very short. And at the beginning of the year I accidentally dyed it black so had to bleach it again to dye it purple. Quite a few changes lol
Did you go out of the country?
Yup, a few times.
Did you keep your last New Year's resolution?
I never make those.
What was the best movie you saw in theaters?
Hmm, I think I only saw Barbie and Oppenheimer, so in that case I pick Barbie. I really enjoyed it, and I really loved how it was basically this huge event we all participated in.
What was the best book you read?
I'm not sure when I read Sayaka Murata's Earthlings and Convenience Store Woman, but those two books changed my outlook on everything.
What was your greatest accomplishment?
Translating a book. I'm really glad that happened, but I guess it's a testament to my deteriorating mental health that I didn't feel nearly as proud and happy about it as I thought I would when I saw it published. Mila from 2/3 years ago would be so thrilled. And I am, just, I don't know, 2023 wasn't my year.
What was the best cd released this year?
CD? Well if you mean album, personally, Jimin's Face was my favourite, along with Agust D's D-Day.
Did you get a new tattoo?
No, but I am seriously considering it.
A new piercing?
Yup, in September.
Are you still dating the same person you dated at the start of the year?
Yes, which is no one.

Yelled "Happy New Year!" and hugged my sister.
What the Future Year Has In Store
What are you most looking forward to in the New Year?
Concerts, mostly. Hopefully I will plan a good trip or two as well. And idk, tbh I don't look forward to all that much, 2023 left me feeling pretty meh and 2024 didn't have a promising start at all.
But I am making some necessary changes, so we'll see how that goes.
Are you getting married this year?
Lol.
Are you expecting a child?
Definitely not.
Will you be getting a new job?
I don't have such plans, but who knows what the future holds.
Will you be starting a new school?
I'm thinking of finding a language school that offers Japanese once I'm done with German.

Nah.
Will you get your driver's license this year?
No, I have it already.
Will you turn 18?
Way past that sadly.
Will you turn 21?
And that.
Will you turn 25?
And that.
Will you turn 30?
Not yet.
Will you turn 40?
Nope.
Are you going on a vacation this year?
I am planning to, yes. I already feel that I'm going to lose my mind if I don't go anywhere soon.
What movie are you most looking forward to coming out this year?
I'm not sure, maybe Dune?
What book?
None specific, I just want to finally get through more of my list.
What music album?
Hobi's Hope on the Street and whatever Jin releases!
Do you expect to find love this year?
Definitely not.
Did you make a New Year's resolution?
Not really, but there are things I want to do. I just don't want to call them New Year's resolutions because I know for a fact I wouldn't be able to stick to them then.

Refer to above.
Will you be going to a wedding this year?
Maybe? I have no idea yet.
Will you get a new car?
Not anytime soon, I think.

As always.
What do you most want to happen this year?
I want my mental health to improve, that's probably number one thing.
What are you most excited about this year?

(1) I love Lewis, don't get me wrong for what I'm about to say, but sometimes it feels like he's trying to embrace all causes without thinking critically of all of 'em and I attribute that not to something pretentious about him (quite the contrary), but by the fact that he's the most socially conscious of the drivers, which must be draining for him and a shame to all the others. I say this regarding the immigration phrase he had on his shirt that now I saw inspired the ones of Vettel and Mick.
Whew, okay, this is a lot! But thank you for choosing to share it with me, I guess? 💕
I don’t know a lot about what happens in Sweden and Finland and tbh I don’t have the time to get into it right now, so I’ll trust you that all of this is a thing, okay?
Okay, so I wrote some stuff here already but I just erased it as I am currently realizing I don’t actually feel comfortable talking about this. Not because I am afraid of backlash or anything but because I lack a lot of knowledge but the knowledge and experiences I have a vastly different to yours and while I don’t wanna invalidate any of your feelings ... I just feel quite different about all of this
A few things I do wanna say:
1) please be clear on who we are talking about here as saying immigrants like that is kind of wrong when what we really mean is: refugees! And while I don’t know if that is what Lewis meant seeing as his shirt says “Immigration is a good thing” ... I know it’s what Seb and Mick are referring to with “No Human is Illegal” and I am fucking proud of them as germans for wearing this slogan when neo-nazis are on the rise like that in Germany currently
2) I do have to agree that I think Lewis sometimes should look at all the facts before saying sth though I am not thinking about this but rather his comment on “Black Friday” last year coming from slave trade which as far as I know is wrong? ... but I also think it’s not even his fault because everyone always expects him to have an opinion on an every issue in mankind and tbh I’d rather see someone try and care but get it wrong here and there than people so afraid they’ll say the wrong thing ... they just don’t say anything at all anymore!
3) I also wanna comment on the things about integrating because I do think we are doing a disservice to immigrants and refugees alike if we go: oh, it’s a cultural thing, in the same way that rhetoric is damaging when we are talking about the Mazepin video or Robert Shwartzman saying women don’t belong in racing (not that these things are all the same but just the general vibe)! Also remember that when we are talking about integration of refugees ... we are not talking about people choosing to leave their country cause they like another better or they think they’ll have a better chance somewhere else like immigrants but rather people forced to leave their country ... and they leave their country and not their culture which - even if they may have more traditional gender roles - is not rape
But anyhow, non of that is on topic I think so I’ll just end here and share this now
Anyways, have a good day
#please let’s not turn this one into discourse today I really don’t have the time or energy or knowledge thank youuuu#no ask tags just vibes

alright, so here’s my final top 43 with minor commentaries that no one asked for. also this is probably... not common, bUT WE LOVE SOME DIVERSITY. this is obviously personal taste, but im just gonna say i would die for all the songs in my top 10
43. Russia - alright, so this wasn’t originally this low on my list at all, but after hearing it live... holy shit. i feel really bad for her, but her vocals were tragic, to the point where i don’t even understand how this happened. sh00k
42. Georgia - okay see, this is just not working for me. this is the only song this year that i can never listen to all the way through, and for some reason it depresses me. it honestly gives me funeral vibes.
41. Iceland - oh, Ari. honestly i just find it all too cheesy, especially when you add his personality, given he’s a bundle of sunshine, too, and then it’s an overdose of sugar. the song is rather dated, and this is another one that kind of makes me feel... hhh. just, must we?
40. Germany - okay, look, this one i don’t have a great excuse for other than tthe fact it doesn’t do anything for me personally. i tried to like this song so much though, i swear i did, but the more i hear it, the more i dislike it. this is the one where i usually go out to grab a snack or a drink while it plays, because i just... i don’t like it, i’m sorry.
39. San Marino - *rubs at temple* listen originally i gave them the benefit of the doubt but the way they are suffering live makes me suffer, too. the awkward rapping, that mess of lyrics, the weak vocals.... it’s not great.
38. Israel - plot twist. this was originally my last, so compared to that this is still better. but i just reeeally don’t like this song. it annoys me, actually. makes me laugh, but when i see the odds it makes me cry. also, honestly, her live performances did nothing for me - other than the high notes in the very end, it was... whatever it was. i really can’t comprehend why everyone’s eating this up, but you do you guys.
37. Romania - i swear i sort of keep forgetting this song exists, oh my god. it’s just kind of a mess..? i don’t really know what it wants to be, maybe they also don’t know what it wants to be. in the very least she sounds good live.
36. Latvia - so this song... is also something that’s just sort of there, but i don’t feel a single thing. i’m not too fond of her stage presence when it comes to it, either, with all the dramatic hairflips. am i the only one who thinks she’s like jessica rabbit?
35. Lithuania - aww, Lithuania... puts me to sleep ;;; she has a nice, unique voice but i find myself incredibly bored during her performances. i was watching the amsterdam live and i didn’t even notice she switched to Lithuanian at one point, only when i saw the recap. probably not a great sign.
34. Belgium - she kept dropping on my list anyway, and after hearing her live, she just somehow got down here. first of all, honestly it has great quality - doesn’t grab me the slightest, though. i find the chorus disappointing...? “echoes echoes and goes...” i always keep expecting a bigger, powerful drop and i’m somehow let down every time. and her vocals live, just... oooooh no.
33. Sweden - *buries face in hands* Justin Bieber...? this song is something that we’ve all heard like 1000000 times before. furthermore, i can’t be the only one who’s annoyed that he doesn’t sing his chorus live, he just whispers over it? like...
32. Czech Republic - okay, this kind of goes hand in hand with Sweden for me. i like Miki, but this is very, very... i don’t wanna say outright cheap, so let’s just say basic. basically talk dirty to me. honestly, it’s basically the exact same thing. one of the many. next!
31. Estonia - she actually went quite up on my list, because i appreciate her talent, and couldn’t question that even if i tried. i mean yes, i’m honestly not into opera... but it’s not horrible. although in the end it becomes a bit too much for me personally.
30. United Kingdom - SuRie is amazing, i honestly love her so much for her personality?? icon. buuuut the song is still not great and it’s just an inch away from tipping towards annoying - but, i can enjoy this one.
29. Poland - it’s okay for what it is. they are having fun. but i don’t want to give it more credit than that, it’s something you can hear every day in a club, on the beach, on the radio... been there done that. also... *whispers* okay JOWST did it much better, i’m soRRY
28. Australia - fun, up tempo, catchy BOP. do i feel more than that? no, not really. Jessica is adorable, though ;;; i wish this was... more.
27. Finland - her NF performance did not convince me one bit, but the studio cut and her Amsterdam performance elevated her a bit on my list. but still not... enough? it’s... it’s okay.
26. F.Y.R. Macedonia - this grew on me, to be honest. i still don’t know if i really like the three-songs-at-once thing, but i learned to enjoy it.
25. The Netherlands - okay, so country is not my type of music at all, and he’s only here because i think it’s a decent entry, and he's really good live.
24. Slovenia - i really dig her voice, and i like the verses, and LOVE the pre-chorus. she’s great on stage. the only reason she’s not higher is because the chorus itself is... sigh, it leaves me a bit disappointed.
23. Moldova - they literally jumped 17 places ahead on my list, and i regret nothing. i woke up on them, even if it took a while. once that tacky performance from the NF was out of the way, i was into it. THIS MAKES ME WANT TO HAVE FUN WITH THEM, OKAY
22. Malta - another BOP, but it just works better for me than Australia, personally. i was worried about her live but i think she delivers. it’s often stuck in my head.
21. Cyprus - BOP after BOP. it’s good, catchy and fun, definitely works for what it is, and i always jam to it.
20. Croatia - okay, i really really like her voice?? there’s something about this specific female vocal that i love, and tbh the song isn’t bad at all.
19. Spain - i prefer the studio cut with them, honestly. i find it to be a really lovely song, but when they do it live i just don’t feel connected with them, because they are busy connecting with each other. there’s nothing wrong with that, they are adorable, but it’s just as high as it will go for me.
18. Ireland - listen, i love his voice. it’s so sweet... the melody stayed with me from the very first listen. i am well aware he will get lost in the semi, but i appreciate him. this is really good.
17. Austria - so here’s the thing, this was originally in my top 10, but i just kind of got over it? he is also good live, but that’s about it. the song is good, i dig the hozier vibes it has, it’s a radio friendly tune... i just like 16 other songs more.
16. Azerbaijan - okay this song gets a lot of hate, and i GET that this is just esc pop, but a good one? i really like her voice?? and the power the song has in it? i don’t know, i was so sceptical about this but i replayed it right after the first listen - it makes me feel good.
15. Norway - listen i love Alexander Rybak, but i was also so sceptical about his comeback, because why, you already won? but the live performance was honestly so good, like listen, this guy’s charisma is ON POINT. i still love the violin. i still love him. i won’t rate him higher, because yes, the lyrics could be better, but i still enjoy it a whole lot.
14. France - oh, i love them. very easy to get into, it’s lovely. not something that makes me catch my breath, but i really appreciate it still because i honestly love listening to it.
13. Armenia - Sevak is so on point vocally, um...? this song is a huge grower for me, and at this point i seriously just... it’s so good.
12. Albania - I’M STILL MOURNING THE PRE-REVAMP VERSION HHHHH.... but i still love it, and love Eugent aswell. he has amazing vocals, and he would definitely deserve a good place.
11. Serbia - okay okAY OKAY I LOVE THIS SO MUCH??? the ethnic vibes, the whole... composition, their voices, it’s one big massive yes.
10. Switzerland - *cries softly* listen i fucking love them? Corinne’s vocals are EPIC. this song is just really good, although people are sleeping on it like they are knocked out. but they are doing great and i’m very proud of these Zibblingz. damn.
9. Ukraine - wELL I LOVE MÉLOVIN, WHO WOULD’VE THOUGHT. he is a Performer™. his voice is amazing, and this song just doesn’t leave my head, i don’t even care about his ‘aghdshfdfzgz’, he’s that good.
8. Denmark - talk about epic? this whole song just raises me to a whole another spiritual level tbh. i can just close my eyes and see the sea and... hear the soundtrack of a fantasy movie, and i’m all for it. also, he’s REALLY good every time.
7. Bulgaria - i loved this song to begin with, but their live performance really gave it the last push. they harmonize their vocals in such a beautiful way, and i was afraid it wouldn’t work so much live, but it does. it really does, and i’m loving it.
6. Hungary - i can’t believe my country makes it to my top ten like... the 3rd time in a row, considering i never liked our entries before. but honestly AWS is.. wow, i was shook from the moment i first heard the song, and i LOVE how daring we’re being lately. i’m incredibly proud of them. they have so much energy, and in Amsterdam, they were definitely my favorite - i’m shocked. they deliver, they are an explosion. Örs’ vocals are AMAZING, and they never falter, even if this song is so demanding in that aspect? fucking... respect.
5. Montenegro - i aggressively love this song, maybe even love it more the more people ditch it. this is so dramatic and epic?? he is another singer who delivers vocally whenever it’s live? this song is... i LOVE the balkan sound, the musical-esque melodies, the power in his voice, just... i personally love it more than Adio from Knez, come fight me.
4. Portugal - i feel entranced every time. she grabs me, and doesn’t let go. this whole song is like a sweet dream, to be honest, and i love it sooooo much. i adore when isaura joins in. i just... it goes straight to my heart, god bless. beautiful.
3. Greece - this song... is so magical? like, pure magic. i’m so happy greece is finally doing it right, i’m... yianna is an actual greek goddess, and her voice... dude. this is art.
2. Belarus - definitely my most played song this year, oh my god. (okay, i might play Navsegda a bit more, but Forever is amazing too) the revamp didn’t ruin it, it gave it more personality. i love his tone changes? i love his soft, beautiful voice, and how he plays with it? guys alekseev is brilliant, and i would actually probably sob if he didn’t make the cut. this song does things to me. just.. wow.
1. Italy - there is not one other song this year that makes me think ‘winner’. just... there isn’t any other. it has everything; two amazing male vocals (and that contrast between them, gOD THAT CONTRAST!), an amazing, original song, an important message, the soul... what more do you want? this is a masterpiece. makes you stop and listen. honestly, if they don’t win, i really don’t see the point.

☾♔; March 9, 2018 ☾♔; sotd: Euphoria by Loreen ☾♔; comedian otd: Trevor Noah ☾♔; Quidditch Captain Application ☾♔; {G} https://goo.gl/PnjH23 ☾♔; {C} https://goo.gl/hQQo1z ☾♔; Mod(s): @.miky94
Title: lyrics from "Crown", performed by Jamila Velazquez, Raquel Castro, Yani Marin in the second season of "Empire"
REQUESTS: [x] OC Name: Svea Sauvageon [x] House: Slytherin [x] Role in the Quidditch Team: chaser [x] Year: Seven
[x] Wins in the team: okay, I know just a number will do here, but I did a bunch of math for it, so I'm quite proud of myself rn. 6 Quidditch games are played per year at Hogwarts, of which each house participates in 3. Svea joined the Quidditch team in her second year (as first years are not allowed), and up to the end of her 6th year, she would've have played in 15 games total (on the assumption that she played right from first joining the team and was never benched due to injury). She wins at least one game a year, her stiffest competition coming from Syn Lothbrok and Minah Delacroix, so out of those 15 games, I'd estimate that Svea's won between 10-12 games, a 66-80% success rate. (Again, did the math on that, and I am so proud of myself.)
[x] Is your character a good leader for the team? Does her/he loves the challenges, the competition and is a great motivator?
Svea would make an excellent captain. She's a natural leader and high-achiever, she orders people around as easily as she breathes, and constantly pushes for more, not just out of her herself, but as well as those around her. She considers herself to be the best of the best, and therefore everyone around her must also meet that standard. She's also a mom-friend, her pushing and striving to be better than everyone else does not just come out as harsh orders, but she spends time with (most) of the team to help them get better and deal with their problems, whether Quidditch related or not. She maintains friendly relationships with most of the Slytherin Quidditch team and has functioning, workable relations with the rest. She does have deeply ingrained politeness and does not outright belittle people without a justifiable reason, so despite any deep seated dislike she may hold for a member or members, she is more than capable of swallowing it and working together to achieve victory.
Svea's been on the team for a long time now, having joined in her second year (when students are first eligible to apply), and has participated in every game. She was inspired to join and try out for Chaser by her step-mother, Iliana Vyacheslavovichna Drubetskaya, a former star chaser of the national Russian Quidditch Team (she retired 10 years ago due to injury). Iliana was the one who sparked Svea's passion for the sport, introducing it to her when she was a child and they often attended matches throughout Europe. Amongst Svea's banked happy memories for patronus producing is a Quidditch match between Russia and Germany she attended with Iliana and Lili (her younger sister). Svea's an aggressive and tactical player. She treats the game like war, and her favourite strategy is to be aggressive, and to be smart. The more land you take, the more you've won. In Quidditch, she applies that concept to points and the snitch. She's not so concerned about catching the snitch, as she is with outscoring the enemy team, and one of her primary goals and efforts is to have chasers score 150 points and above so that they can still win the game regardless of who catches the snitch (as well as win the cup, since you get that based on overall score and not number of games won at Hogwarts). Beaters are a significant part of that strategy, she'd split them up. Have one fly wildly throughout the pitch and hit who they can, and have another play protector/assassin by the keeper (well, as near as the rules allow). She'd also have the entire team come to her family's estate in Sweden during breaks and holidays to practice year round and would help team members keep up their grades. Natural talent is nice, but if you don't hone your skills, you're worthless to the team, and if you don't keep your grades up, you can't play.
Svea's got good sportsmanship, and does not let her competitive nature in the sport spill out in other situations, and even maintains various positive relationships with members of other teams. One of her best friend's is a beater on an opposing team (Syn Lothbrok of Hufflepuff House), another of her close besties is on Ravenclaw (Minah Delacroix), and her boyfriend is seeker on yet another opposing team (Henry Clark of Gryffindor House). So she is more than able to leave all competitive tension on the pitch and cozy up to the "enemy" without an ulterior motive (literally, and in all three of those cases tbh). However, despite being able to keep competitive heat to the pitch, Svea is unlikely to be cooperative with a captain she sees as being beneath her, whether by age or social standing or a combination thereof. Svea effectively believes herself to be and acts like a Queen without a kingdom (if you don't count the Sauvageon estate and family in Sweden, mind you, she's still just the heir to that). She's not going to take orders from a plebeian, and she's certainly not going to accept the authority of an inferior. With a captain whom she views as inferior to herself, she is going to be incredibly disagreeable with and will constantly correct them during meetings and practice. During a game, she is most likely to usurp command, and do as she pleases. She would only begrudgingly accept "orders" during a dire situation.

about the blogger~
I was tagged by the wonderful @tiniestwitch (seriously go check out their blog, they’re great) and basically here’s a little bit about me~
Nicknames: Holl’s the one I go by most.
Gender: Lovely Lady or female, if you want to get scientific.
Star Sign: 🐂 TAURUS 🐂 and proud.
Height: I’m about 5′’2/5′’3, I haven’t been measured in a few years but I haven’t grown in years either :’).
Time: as of writing this: It’s currently 10:54pm.
Birthday: I’m born in the jolly ol’ month of May, I’d rather keep the exact date to myself~
Favourite Bands: Considering this is my kpop blog I will stick to kpop groups for this list. SHINee, of course, as they are my one true Kings and I shall love them always. Red Velvet are my ultimate Queens- or as if this comeback should I say LGBT Coven Empresses? Either way I love those girls. I have a lot more so I’ll just refer you to me fave groups page, as that about sums it up.
Favourite Solo Artists: I’ll stick to kpop again and go with my gorgeous saviour Taemin, the dark fairy prince and gender stereotype smasher is by far my fave. Of course, I love Jonghyun as a soloist too, his music is always so beautiful and he drops some real bops so if you’ve not checked out his stuff you totally should (btw White T-Shirt is a great alarm song, gets you pumped in the morning), and Taeyeon probably wins out for my lovely ladies.
Song stuck in my head: Sea by Golden Child. It’s my personal favourite on their debut album, I love it so much, it’s such a great song with such summery vibes and the vocals are so on point. Not to mention they do that great thing where they do like a false build up? Where you think you’re going to drop back to the chorus but then it circles back and there’s another slow verse. Anyway if you’ve heard it you’ll get what I mean, and I love it!
Last Movie Watched: The Hunger Games, Catching Fire. I’m watching it right now :’).
Last Show Watched: Probably Star Trek: Discovery. GREAT SHOW.
When did I Create my Blog: Quite recently? I can’t be exactly sure, I got locked out of my old blog which I had for years and remade to this one a little while back. Since then I’ve also created various blogs focusing on various things to basically organise my blog a little more.
What do I post: This particular blog is all kpop with a few dramas thrown in!
Last Thing Google: Loona, I was checking to see if there’d be anything else on our next Girl of the Month :’).
Do you have other blogs: Yes, I have a few other blogs. This is my primary blog and purely for kpop but I also have kimitokara, which is a blog dedicated 100% to anime/mange. I also have a personal/multifandom blog which is mainly TV shows etc. that’s called reduciome.
Do you get asks: Occasionally, not so much, but I’m always welcome to them!
Why did you choose your username: I changed it a few months ago when I decided to officially make this blog purely kpop and was also listening to Red Velvet on repeat (as if I still don’t, hahahaha).
Following: 337, I basically followed all the blogs from my old personal before I made this one and should really do a sort out soon because so many of them haven’t been active in a long time.
Followers: 42 on this particular blog :’) An acute amount, which works for me~
Favourite Colours: Purple, green, black, pink, blue etc. etc. I have many tbh, it changes a lot but I always come back to purple (bless ASTRO tbh).
Average hours of sleep: Probably about 6/7.
Lucky number: I’m a complete freak who basically really likes even numbers, or numbers that end in 5 or 7.
Instruments: I tried the violin a while back and loved it tbh but gave it up to focus on exams etc.
What I am wearing right now: Penguin pj pants and a dressing gown.
How many blankets: Just one at the moment, though as it gets colder I tend to put an extra on.
Dream Job: I’d love to be a writer, though I’d also love to teach but abroad somewhere, if I weren’t such an anxious numpty I’d travel all the time.
Dream Trip: South Korea, Japan, China... tbh I’d love to see anywhere in East Asia, I feel like the cultures are so different there and it’d be a great experience. I’d also love to see more of Europe too though, I went to Germany once and loved it so I really want to go back.
Favourite food: I love rice, pasta and basically lots of carb-y food. Yay to bread! I also really love cheese and lemons.
Nationality: British~
Favourite Song(s) Now: Chaotic - Loona (ODD EYE CIRCLE), Rise - Taemin, Sea - Golden Child, You Better Know - Red Velvet, Difficult - ONF and a billion more tbh.
Ok so I’m going to tag some of my lovely mutuals, feel free to take part if you want to!: @confundo-on-cormac, @duckiesteasmiles, @xumoon, @17dad & @kflowergirl

hahah whew anon I won’t repeat the ones I’ve already done but here it goes.
1. What was the first musical you saw?
The Lion King in 2010.

The first wave was caused by Les Miserables, then the revival and what really got me into it was Wicked.
3. Who was your first Broadway crush?
Samantha Barks whelp
4. Name three of your current Broadway crushes.

I’m a technician so a stage manager at Wicked. : )
6. Favourite off-broadway show:
Songs for a New World and The Last Five Years.
7. Favourite cast recording.

2013 by a little bit.
9. Favourite show currently on Broadway.

Any Elphaba’s
17. Do you watch broadway.com vlogs? Which one is your favourite?
I am very biased towards Kara Lindsay, but that vlog was damn enjoyable.
18. Make a broadway related confession.
I sometimes question why I like Wicked so much. If I think deeply about it for a while, the plot holes, characterization and arcs infuriate me to no end. Yeah, it did completely change my life and for that I’m grateful. bUT after Willemijn and Jenny leave, I’m probably gonna take a massive step back until another Elphaba fully captures my heart. If it ever happens considering how in love I am with Willemijn’s Elphaba. That being said, if the Jackie Burns rumours are true, Imma stick around until the inevitable Jessica Vosk takeover.
19. What do musicals mean to you?
It is responsible for a lot of who I am today. I propagate the fact Wicked made me “realise” I was gay (and trans), plus helped to discover technical theatre which has become a home of sorts.
20. Express some love for understudies and swings!
I AM STILL SALTY I MISSED SEEING JODIE STEELE LIVE. HER VOICE IS JUST JAFKELWQLFJQL AND DAMN PROUD SHE WAS ABLE TO FINISH OFF THE TOUR AS THE “LEAD” DOING 6 SHOWS A WEEK FOR A MONTH. Also chookas to Olivia Polci for her Elphaba debut. insane she’s gone this long without it.
21. Best Disney musical:
Beauty and the Beast.
22. Which Disney movie should be made into a musical?
Imma cheat and not do disney but animated in general. Prince of Egypt all the way. Deliver Us never fails to send chills.
23. Which musical fandom has the funniest memes?
Hamilton. Or as my friends call it, “Hemes”. They also have history to play with so it’s broad and varied.
25. Name a Broadway star you would sort into your Hogwarts house.
Like I said before, I have no clue.
27. A Broadway duo you love.
I love virtually everyone.
29. If you could make a jukebox musical, what artist or genre would you pick?
FALL OUT BOY! : )))))
30. Favourite role played by _________________?
uhhhhh ??
33. Current showtune stuck in you head:
Flash, Bang, Wallop from Half a Sixpence. Their West End Live performance was the best from this year and Charlie Stemp is only 23??!?!?!.
34. A musical that has left you thinking about life for a long time or deeply inspired you.
Les Miserables probably.
35. If you could perform any ensemble number, which one would you pick?
One Day More or One Short Day hehehehehe.
36. Name a musical you didn’t like at first but ended up loving.
Hamilton.
37. What are some costumes you’d love to try on?
Enjolras’ lmao.
38. Favourite dance break.
Turn it Off? I’m more of a song person anyway.
39. Favourite Starkid musical.
Aren’t really familiar with their work.
40. What’s a musical more people should know about?
does Elisabeth count lol.
41. What are some lines from musicals you really like?
“Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise” is the one that has stuck with me the most.
42. Name a Tony performance you rewatch and rewatch.

ESC ‘17: my thoughts on the final
now that Eurovision is over for the year 😥, I’ll share my thoughts about all the acts in the final.
Israel: an okay performance, not an especially great one though. I did think it was a nice way to start the show.
Poland: I saw a comment somewhere, long before Eurovision week, saying that Kasia was basically singing really passionately about nothing in particular. I’m inclined to agree. I like Kasia, I think, but Flashlight is kind of a pointless song imo.
Belarus: love this! they were so cute and so happy and this deserved more points, okay? especially since they sang in Belarusian! for the first time!
Austria: see above, it was happy and he’s cute and deserved better! I don’t know how Nathan didn’t even get a single televote point! he was good!
Armenia: I really thought Artsvik was going to do better, but tbh the performance fell kinda flat. she and her dancers could have used more of the stage, I think, and it would have been more effective.
Netherlands: I was kind of indifferent to this song up until I saw it performed. O’G3NE is great and I cried a little.
Moldova: okay how exactly did this get 3rd? was it Epic Sax Guy? it’s a top-10 performance, I guess, but imho not a top-3. it seemed to go on way longer than 3 minutes.
Hungary: holy shit YES, I’m soooooo glad Joci was in the top 10! he deserved it! don’t know why the juries slept on him though…
Italy: y’all probably won’t agree at all but I think 6th was the right placing for this. I mean, it was good, but - like Armenia, as well as a few others - it fell flat and didn’t quite measure up to the hype or expectations.
Denmark: poor Anja, stuck between Italy and Portugal :( the song’s kinda generic but I liked it and she performed well, I thought.
Portugal: ♥ Salvador is adorable and he did soooooo well! this was actually only my #2 of the night but I think he’s a well-deserved winner, and he made history in multiple ways (first Portuguese victory since they started competing 53 years ago! in a language other than English for the first time since 2007! and the highest scoring Eurovision winner ever - even if his points were converted to the previous system of voting!) and I’m proud of him!
Azerbaijan: another act that fell flat. this was one of my favourites in studio but I just wasn’t really feeling the live performance, I would have preferred something that stuck more to the aesthetic of the music video, I guess.
Croatia: I wasn’t expecting this to do as well as it did. hell, I wasn’t even expecting Jacques to qualify. but I guess it was so extra that it ended up working somehow?
Australia: this was the first time I genuinely enjoyed an Australian entry. I didn’t care much for the staging but I thought Isaiah sang the shit out of his song and 9th is a well deserved position.
Greece: let’s be real this should be Finland …yeah I really didn’t like this. it felt kinda cheap and like a throwback to 2012, in a way. I like Demy, it’s just a shame about her song.
Spain: didn’t like this either. I hate to say that any act deserved last, but… honestly this kinda did. sorry Manel :(
Norway: underdog of the season?? started off as kind of an unexpected winner of MGP, ended up in the top 10 and I’m really happy about that!
UK: Lucie should have been in the top 10 - though 15th is still better than the UK has been doing as of late. I cried a little at her performance too.
Cyprus: I liked the staging, even though some of it felt borrowed from Belgium ‘15 and maybe Russia ‘16. however, I think it takes a pretty strong performer/song to make it work, and Hovig just wasn’t the right fit.
Romania: yodel rap works a lot better than it probably should. the whole thing was kinda tacky but somehow they pulled it off.
Germany: not last? wow! this was pretty much “generic: the performance” imo, sorry Levina :(
Ukraine: ah, this year’s token rock song! kind of a letdown and if Ukraine had to compete in the semis this year I don’t think they would have qualified.
Belgium: yet another that fell flat in my opinion. Blanche needed a little more movement, I thought - not a whole lot more, it’s not that kind of song, but she just stood there a little too much.
Sweden: I just really didn’t like this, but these days Sweden could probably be top 5 with literally anything they sent. Robin seems soulless imo and the song kinda skeeves me out.
Bulgaria: Kristian my love, you did amazing ♥ yeah this was my #1 of the night. something about this worked for me more than any other performance. as happy as I am for Salvador (pretty damn happy, he was my #2 and has been one of my favourites the whole time), I bet I’d be even happier if it were Kristian who walked away with the trophy.
France: I liked this a lot more than I expected, given that the studio version didn’t do much for me. the English in the chorus still sounded off (probably because the French last line doesn’t rhyme) though, and Alma should have gone with a solid-coloured dress because I thought it seriously clashed with how busy the background got at times.

♫ My music history ♫
This post was inspired by @symph0nia-pendragon who wanted me to do this ^_^.
I can’t say I have much of a history when it comes to music, Kalafina is my first love so to speak!! Of course I have liked songs here and there from all kinds of artists in various genres but I have never actively sought out more music from one particular singer/band (until Kalafina came along that is). I have always been more of a sountracks-kinda girl.
Oh well, anyways, let’s give it a shot! Keep in mind though, this is gonna be short (okay, scratch that, it ended up being quite long) and probably boring as hell...
As kids my sister and I would record the score as well as the opening and ending themes of our favourite shows with our cassette recorder. Our tastes were quite different, I was mostly into shows like X-Files, ER and Star Trek all of which my sis couldn’t stand but we both LOVED the old World Masterpiece Theater animated shows. Of course back then we didn’t know they were Japanese anime, we just enjoyed the different stories and the pretty animation. I am not sure about the US/UK but those serials were SUPER popular in Germany/Austria, they got aired back to back for years here. We collected all the OPs, EDs and insert songs and tbh, I enjoy listening to them up to this day, they are just THAT good. They were German dubs though, sometimes completely different from the Japanese original. For example, there was an incredibly sad insert song in one of the German dubbed episodes of “Tico of the Seven Seas”, it was originally the rather cheerful Japanese ED theme but the lyrics were altered to match the scene for which it was used. I am still crying like a little baby whenever I listen to it! 。:゚(。ノω\。)゚・。 I would love to link you to more of them but I am afraid they wouldn’t make much sense to you. >_< Have one of my favourite scores instead! It’s “Journey to Milan” from “Romeo’s Blue Skies”.
We also collected the soundtracks of other other animes we watched (Sailor Moon, Dragonball, Pokemon, Digimon, etc...). Some American/European animated shows as well, most notably “The Animals of the Farthing Wood”, we were obsessed with this as little kids!! We really liked the score of the theme song and during various sad scenes! Random fact, my first school bag was part of the “Farthing Wood” merchandise. I was so proud to have it! (btw, in case you are wondering what I am carrying here, it’s a “Schultüte”)
Of course we also grew up on the soundtracks of Disney movies and various other animated films. I think we owned all the OSTs that were available at that time. Here are two lovely examples of amazing scores => Lion King - King of Pride Rock (by Hans Zimmer), Pocahontas - Farewell (by Alan Menken); The score of The Land Before Time (composed by the late James Horner) remains my favourite up to this day!! Just listen to “Discovery of the Great Valley”, it’s PERFECT!!!
Around this time I started to become properly aware of different composers and I realised that I really liked a certain style of music. I singled out a handful of composers that kept making amazing soundtracks and that’s how I ended up getting a ton of OSTs by Hans Zimmer, James Horner, John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith. Here and there I like a few other composers but these are my favourites, I just love their style, however repetitive it may be according to some people >_> In some ways I think I am the kind of person that needs recurring themes o.O
And yeah, that’s pretty much what I have been doing up till now. I mostly stick to soundtracks that stand out to me. My sister introduced me to some songs by Yuki Kajiura, including some of her soundtrack pieces. One thing led to the other and I was suddenly knee-deep in the world of Kalafina XD (find out more in my “First Impression” post).
So yeah, aside from Kalafina, the only thing you’ll find in my playlist are soundtracks.
Okay, no, that’s not true. I’ll occasionally like a random song/”musical piece” (probably because I have heard it in some context). They can be songs from all kinds of genres, from all kinds of artists, from all over the world. There is quite a lot of variety actually. I’ve liked the most random things, be it an insert song in a K-Drama/J-Drama, a Bollywood item song, one of Britney Spears’ older songs, an opera aria, a classical symphony, etc...the weirdest things really...
I guess there is some stuff that I really don’t like...jazz for example, I just can’t seem to like it. Any sort of indie, punk or psychedelic music, ughhh, not my thing at all...I am also not a big fan of music that lacks harmony, the more “dissonant” and all over the place, the less likely I’ll find it appealing...
#music history#randomness#no idea how to tag this#it's not even kalafina#personal#I told you#this is boring#there is nothing here

Strasbourg
So last week I went to the European Parliament in Strassbourg. It was quite the unique journey. I got to meet a lot of crazy, but awesome people and also got the chance to learn that the world is not as pink as it seems. We went to Croatia (Zagreb), Slovenia (Postojna), Italy (Trieste), Switzerland (Zurich), France (Strasbourg and Colmar), Austria (Salzburg). What I think about the people?
The people in Croatia were really nice. They are funny, they love making jokes (at least from what I saw). Zagreb is beautiful and I love how the people there brag about the city - there were too many billboards on the streets that said “Zagreb“. The people love their city, they love what they are doing.
I didn’t really have a chance to meet the people in Postojna because of all the tourists and the fact that we didn’t spend much time there, but it seemed to me they were really calm. They are helpful and full of joy. They don’t look dissappointed, ever, and they are comfortable with you starting a regular conversation without knowing them.
Trieste, oh my god. It was soooo beautiful. They have these huge jellyfishes in different colours. One was orange, another was purple and there were like 5 different jellyfishes in a single square meter. We all know how Italians are really vain. Half of the people in Trieste were dressed in official clothing, costumes, even when they were just out for a chill afternoon. They were kind of aggressive though.
If I had the opportunity to talk about German speaking countries, it would take me a while. Zurich was one of the greatest cities I’ve ever seen. Is it expensive there? Kind of. But not really. The food was expensive and overrated, but I still got the chance to buy two books at a normal price. The people were so sweet. They looked at us as if we are aliens just because we were tourists. They don’t really talk to you a lot. They look like they’re always late and don’t have time for you. Their German accent is awfully cute, but understandable and a lot better than Austrian German.
I never really liked France, although the people there are talkative and really understanding. They loved talking to us. Especially if one of us just went and talked to them in French - the moment they hear French, they start smiling to the ears. They smile a lot, tbh. I guess they are happy people.
I’ve been in Salzburg two times. Austrians are proud, vain, really funny and talkative. In Salzburg they didn’t like us very much. They were kind of distant. One I talked to rolled his eyes when I told him we’re Bulgarian. From past experience I know that Austrians are rude in general, but they can be talkative and really nice if they get to know you and they need 5 minutes to do that.
How did I like Euroscola?
I didn’t. I just learned that politics is not my thing. They made us spend 10 hours in the building with no chance of going out for a 5 minute break. They didn’t even let us drink water because of all the microphones and headphones. Finnish people are so smart. They know what they want, they know how they feel, they’ve got ideas and are always ready to share them and protect them with a long list of arguments and examples. Romanians were kind of quiet. The people from Luxembourg were awesome on the other hand. They were smart, spoke in a lot of languages and you could just feel like you could talk to them about anything. One of school-mates did a really great job representing our school and country. An MEP even told him he was going to become a good Eurodeputy in the future. We were all so happy for him.
My thoughts about the trip
It was short. I wanted more. And one night we went to Germany. I was so happy. Now that I am finally home, I don’t feel like I am home. I feel bored and agressive. I don’t want to be here. It’s just all the same and I miss Germany, I miss home. Sometimes I just feel like I would’ve been better if I was like one of those girls in American movies that change schools every year because their father always has to change work places. When I stay in one place for more than 30 minutes (let alone 18 years), I get this ball of agression in my stomach, I feel annoyed, because I really want to be somewhere else. That’s how I feel about Bulgaria. I just want to move to Germany and never come back. I also feel so strange speaking in Bulgarian, I want to speak in English and German. Basically, I want out.

Rules: Complete the survey and say who tagged you in the beginning. When you finished tag 5 people to do this survey. Have fun and enjoy!!! Tagged by @akumastrife
1: Are you named after someone? Nope! 2: When was the last time you cried? Oh like 20 minutes ago. It’s a thing. 3: Do you like your handwriting? My handwriting can be kind of pretty sometimes. It’s an odd mix of print and cursive usually but my print has gotten much prettier since becoming and elementary teacher. 4:What is your favorite lunch meat? Uh ham? That’s the only one I really care about tbh. otherwise I’m strictly a pb&j kind of girl 5: Do you have kids? I currently have like 370 students or something like that. I think that’s enough for like 7-10 more years when I start thinking about kids of my own (either by birth or adoption) 6: If you were another person, would you be friends with you? Uhm…sure? I’ve never really thought about that actually. I don’t think about my own needs or what I like or want enough, I’ve been realizing, so I have no idea if I would like myself as a friend. Need to work on the self awareness clearly. I try to be the best friend I can be as often as I can. So maybe. With a try? 7: Do you use sarcasm? Sarcasm? Whaaaaat? Nooooooo Uh yeah. I’m overly sarcastic but hopefully not bite-y-ness with it. 8: Do you still have your tonsils? Yeah no one’s taking those suckers out unless a million percent necessary. I’m too irrationally scared of what that would do to my singing voice. (Thanks, Hey Arnold) 9: Would you bungee jump? I would rather skydive. Skydiving seems much less scary for me, honestly. Bungee cords are cords that could wrap around you (or your neck) mid-jump and shit like that 10: What is your favorite kind of cereal? I honestly am unsure? Probably captain crunch berries at the moment. 11: Do you untie your shoes when you take them off? Is that a real thing actual human beans do? 12: Do you think you’re a strong person? Never strong enough. But stronger than I previously anticipated for myself, and working really hard to be as strong as I can. 13: What is your favorite ice cream flavor? I’m lactose intolerant, so I don’t get the real thing anymore. However, I used to LOVE strawberry ice cream and would kill (ok not kill but do a LOT) for a good lactose free strawberry ice cream. 14: What is the first thing you notice about people? Their eyes. 15: Red or pink? Uhm. Both? Sure. Why? What is this??? 16: What is the least favorite physical thing you like about yourself? Skip 17: What color pants and shoes are you wearing now? I am in my sleep t shirt, so no pants or shoes. 18: What was the last thing you ate? Ha a deviled egg. Learned how to make them this last weekend and am quite proud of myself clearly since I made them again. 19: What are you listening to right now? My fan 20: If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Emerald green? Or lime green. Definitely a type of green. 21: Favorite smell? How my nana’s laundry used to smell. Sweetpea. Vanilla. Garlic. 22: Who was the last person you spoke to on the phone? My sir, I think? I don’t like being on the phone much, so I would assume him but it could have been Leslie. 23: Favorite sport to watch? Swimming, ice skating, gymnastics. And dance. 24: Hair color? Brown. Gets a little blonde in the summer. 25: Eye color? Brown. Sometimes I try to convince myself they're hazel. But brown. 26: Do you wear contacts? And glasses. Cannot see without one or the other. 27: Favorite food to eat? Creamy rigatoni with chicken and spinach. Also pretzel bites with ranch. 28: Scary movies or comedy? Depends on the situation. I like both as long as the horror movie isn’t all about gore. 29: Last movie you watched? Fantasia 30: What color of shirt are you wearing? Red 31: Summer or winter? Spring. 32: Hugs or kisses? Depends. The sir, kisses and hugs. Otherwise hugs but imm skittish like a cat, so sometimes hand hug or high five, man. 33: What book are you currently reading? The Virgin’s Lover (historical fiction about Elizabeth I). That author’s name escapes me and the book is too far away now that I’m curled up in bed. Alas, I have failed. 34: Who do you miss right now? Oh, so many people. That’s what happens when you move from the Midwest to Alaska knowing nobody at the start. Beth and tyler and nine and jess/trev for sure. And my sir, who is away at flight school. Lately I’ve really been missing my Nanie a lot too. Not sure what’s bringing that on. 35: What is on your mouse pad? Do you mean the nearest solid surface I can find? 36: What is the last TV program you watched? West World (gotta rewatch that shit man!!) Intermixed with Project Runway because my sir’s mom got me to watch it for the first time a few months ago and now I love it and have to watch it all. 37: What is the best sound? The crescendo of a piece of music to the peak of the song, piano solos, the French horn, the gentle heartbeat i can fall asleep to (the sir’s), my mom’s laugh, women’s voices in 3+ part harmony, an arrangement of songs or a composition coming together exactly as I’d hoped (or better), the word poop (leave me alone ok? It’s so fun to say with the vowels and the “p”’ sound ugh makes me laugh all the time), Go the Distance from Hercules. 38: Rolling Stones or The Beatles? Beatles. Someone is going to hit me over the head for being the music teacher who cannot name a Rolling Stones song. Whoops… 39: What is the furthest you have ever traveled? From Indiana to Germany for my foreign exchange program. 40: Do you have a special talent? I am fairly decent at arranging music. I can also make my tongue into a clover. 41: Where were you born? Somewhere in the Indiana side of Michiana (I still get weird about saying exactly where on the internet DX) 42: People you expect to participate in this survey? Expects is sub a strong word. The two people I would tag immediately have done this. There are some people I assume might do it? Probably @chanceuse-et-heureuse and @crazywithasmile. Maybe @ningylittlequodgefelph? If you wanna do it, followers, consider yourself tagged.
