Why I'm no longer a feminist

For context I've been heavily involved in liberal & radical feminist spaces, skirted around marxfems but they're all similar behaviour wise while claiming to be better than others which is what all the below points are based on. All of these apply irrespective of the type of feminism.

Feminism failed - Around 2020/2021 when I was still a feminist, I read an article about how feminism failed and realised it was right. It highlighted how it's been decades of feminism yet it took a pandemic to set women back (women turning to sex work to survive, women quitting their jobs to take care of kids) and it got me thinking. All this pandering to moids, all this work, yet women are always one political disaster away from losing it all. Now tbf it isn't exactly a fair battle with decades of established feminism going up against millenias of oppression but the below points certainly do not help feminism move womens freedom/rights forward.

So much infighting - Nobody is ever a true feminist. Despite everything feminists would say about maIe violence & how it affects womens lives; they'd lash out, smear, or block women that actually hated maIes. I'll never forget being blocked by a big feminist page for saying how women would be better off living without maIes in our lives using their poll data collected on what women would do if maIes didn't exist for 24 hours. They claimed I was being hateful to maIes like come tf on everyone else gets to hate their oppressor but women. Also I've noticed feminists are generally nicer to maIes despite all the abuse but harsher to women they disagree with. Complaining about maIes is just a hobby to them, when a woman more serious comes along they attack that woman more than they attack abusive maIes. Similarly they defend maIes more fiercely than they defend women & girls. Says a lot about their character. I'll expand more on these phenomenons on lower points. Having civil disagreements among feminists is rare (which is what happens when there's no direction) as disagreements will end up in explosive fights full of abuse, smearing, doxxing, etc. It's especially worse as a lot of the time these fights are over moids.

No clear goal or direction - It can't even be agreed among feminists who the movement is for, who is benefitting & being harmed by the system, and the goal. I get that there's usually factions within big ideologies but there's almost no cohesion among feminists which makes it difficult to even discuss let alone advocate so instead of moving forward, feminists go around in circles. Feminism doesn't seem to actually be going anywhere.

Not helpful to marginalised women (in the west) - Despite claims of adopting Intersectionality, marginalised women are often left out of serious mainstream conversations by feminists i.e. black women left out of blm as voices & efforts are focused on marginalised maIes.

Lot of copium - Rather than addressing problems, many feminists want to pretend the problem doesn't exist with a sister circle of women that'll do the same.

Realised how toxic & complicit women are - Even several feminists can be toxic maIe lovers willing to drag any woman & her name through mud for maIes sake. So much enabling behaviour is peddalled in the name of "sisterhood" but let it be a woman that doesn't want anything to do with maIes and feminists have no problem excluding & hating on her. Feminists speak about how women are just too kind & empathetic for their own good which is very misleading. Women are manipulative & also calculative with their actions, they aren't the innocent victims feminists preach them to be (not saying they have to be innocent but it's disingenuous & reckless pretending otherwise). Women (including feminists) will be gentle with maIes but harsher with women; especially women that merely disagree with them. Another issue I have with feminists is that (especially with radfems) they push "men bad women good" agenda when women are also bad. Just because they're oppressed doesn't mean they cant be bad. Whenever women have power (esp over other women) they can be evil. Besides the fact that women still love moids despite everything they do & their "bountless empathy goodwill nature" mostly extends to maIes says a lot about their so-called "goodness".

Realised most of this is just a pass-time until women find & lock in their nigels - Even fierce radical feminists of the 80s that went all out eventually settled down with a moid & kids reflecting on their radfem days as a hobby. I'm not looking to do the same. Many feminists, even the most staunch ones eventually end up bragging about finding a good man that's not like the rest, he's different they're sure of it (said every woman ever). The thing that gets me is that they cant even shut up about their nigel in a space supposedly for women, they want to affirm their ego by flaunting their special nigel to other women then months down the line it's "actually he was a manipulative POS" sure sis.

Saw how common maIe panderering is - each type of feminist accuses the other of pandering to maIes when they all do it, just in different ways and yes this includes radfems which was my last straw. Also many feminists prop up maIe voices even for the most simplest thing, they'll stand behind maIes being treated like crap by other ones for defending women but they wouldn't do that to women. I've realised that for most feminists it isn't about helping women advance irrespective of maIes but reforming maIes for their personal desires which takes me to the next point.

Despite all the complaining, statistics, news, theory, analysis; most feminists want to be with a moid & reproduce at some point completely overlooking everything they preach - I've realised how performative most feminists are. Separatism & the notion of not dating or reproducing with maIes gets so much hate bc these women only want to complain & get dopamine off playing victim. They want to have their cake and eat it and I want to part in that. Gets draining being in these spaces if you actually want nothing to do with moids & their evil. You get attacked for hating or wanting nothing to do with maIes instead of wanting to reform them. It's at a point where I'm agitated seeing the same headlines, discourse, theory, etc repetitively. It's like a pest, it irritates me because nothing will change. Moids will continue to abuse women with no consequences & women (including feminists) will continue to love them. I just dont care anymore. I've noticed the maIe panderers & reformers obsess over the repetitive theory, headlines, stats, etc because they want to change maIes to make it easier to settle down with them. Those of us who see that moids are past the point of redemption & want them gone aren't spending our days dolling out the same stats & theories. Look at many serious separatist/4b et al pages, many of them don't talk about maIes much (second half of this anons ask was questioning why I don't prominently speak about men & misogyny) and this is because we see the pattern, have drawn our conclusions, and now want to move forward. Saw the below photo in my gallery & it sums up this point tho it applies to all feminist communities. Drives you crazy when you're not invested in maIes or forming relationships with them. SN; bear discourse is also an example of this.

Realised that this goes beyond witty one-liners & comebacks - I feel like many feminists have created a culture of who can have the hottest take & it's become a thing of snapping back at maIes sorta like the below video explains rather than caring about women.

At some point when you actually don't care for maIes, you don't feel much & the discourse means nothing. I dont care if their behaviour is social or biological, I dont care if they can be reformed, I don't care if I or my actions dont make sense to moids, I just view them all as threats & want to be safe from their evil. No amount of throwing stats & headlines at moids will get them to change. Even if you "win" debates it doesn't bring material value for women but of course this pads many feminists egos as they've got an interest in changing maIes.

Saviour complex - many feminists have saviour complexes which causes arrogance fuelling many of the problems above. People are more aware than they let on and this includes about misogyny but a lot of feminists care more about looking like heros to feel good about themselves rather than actually helping women & girls. P.S todays set of feminists aren't the first set (or even first 3) of women to have the 'theory' of patriarchy that they do.

Feminism has generally done good work over the years for women but with what I want I dont see feminism achieving it. The light switch flipped for me when I saw that these issues from feminists weren't because of a minority but a majority. This isn't even personal I've seen feminists treat other women like crap for maIe validation. Look at what happened when the depp v heard trial was going on & how several feminists initially sided with depp to prove they can hold "female abusers" accountable & claim moids are victims with the expectation maIes can do the same. Feminists even went against andrea dworkin herself when she was raped. I've realised most women do not want liberation as this will likely come without their happily-ever-after life with maIes so they settle for reformation; however this cant be done without other women also taking hits which is why they'll pull the "we're all in it together bs".

The fandom hasn’t been this much of a mess since 2021. I’m still here mostly because I feel like the announcement is coming soon and at this point I’ve been around too long to just dip.

But man, seeing gwynriels mock the elriels who left actually has me seething. Acting like they’re just too sensitive for fandoms or scared their ship is sinking. Like, really? People can’t even leave without getting dragged? It’s like they can’t turn off the ship war mindset for five seconds and realize that real people were actually hurt. Instead they just make fun of them on their way out. It’s messed up. And the worst part is that the wrong people are leaving. Like I get why, but it’s always the kind ones who go. How many times is this gonna happen? I’ve seen so many good people leave over the years and many never came back.

This week sucked ass. Easily one of the worst since the 2021 chaos. So many who joined the fandom after silver flames just have no decency. I just feel weirdly empty now. We really need that announcement.

A fandom is meant to be a space of fun. A space where you can shut off from real life issues & problems - and simply enjoy, stressfree for a while whether that’s through creating content or simply consuming it. Obviously it will be inevitable that some real life issues filter through into fandoms, however it should always be talked about with empathy, caution and care - so those that are affected or going through these issues aren’t so triggered.

That side were simply not mature enough to handle such heavy topics. Their posts were careless and triggering. Any sane, normal person would be able to understand why people are upset and leaving. I think lately, I’ve really come to the realisation that antis do not see elriels as real life people who are going through our own struggles. As you perfectly put it -(and a phrase I will now be using so thanks anon) it seems as though most antis cannot turn off their shipwar mindsets for a minute to look past and understand how these sort of heavy topics are very disturbing. Each post they made this past week about the issue/article basically went

“Yh no sure the article was wrong…but like, its just an opinion and tbf the author did write it as such where people would y’know bring up Elain not having the right anatomy…so blame Sjm and not the readers/journalist and…like, its not a big thing - elriels have said so much worse! And honestly…they’re just mad bcs the point make sense and they can’t deal with that. It was nothing to make such a big deal about”

I know this might come across as mean but, you know when a young teenager or even child enter spaces meant for more mature adults - they dont understand or grasp on how to communicate with the conversations going on in that space. They just end up blabbering and saying dumb stuff, missing the point. THAT is how antis have acted this past week.

You know, Im going to be real with you. Everytime I think antis can’t go any lower then they already have - every time they prove me wrong. Who and why is anyone creating posts & making fun about those leaving due to feeling triggered? Its just immature and pathetic. People have a life outside of the shipwars, something most antis won’t know about. I feel like most of them are consumed within the shipwars and its the centre of their lives.

Im convinced most who joined after SF - its either their first fandom experience or most of them are just attention seekers. At this point, I simply have stopped caring about anything fandom related, you’re right. I also feel empty and tired - just done with this fandom but Im just praying we get an announcement soon. My Live Reactions to Reading Through My 2021 Novella (pt. 2)

'The spring was short and warm, leading into a summer that promised to be even hotter still. The kind of summer that would leave Isla sweating and unbearably flushed back when she'd been alive. As a spirit, she didn't mind the heat so much, but she'd found herself uncomfortable for other reasons. Namely, Meredith.' (omg just kiss and make up already smh)

She's seriously spending more time worrying about how long it'll take Meredith to forget about her and whether she'll ever forget about her 'friend' (she highly doubts it) than actually anticipating leaving the graveyard

'As it was, all she could do was watch the flowers grow and mourn that she no longer had anyone to bring them to.' okay so, see, now i'm regretting not making more gay jokes earlier

Not really but like, I downplayed any romantic connotations earlier because they were so mild that I honestly thought they'd amount to nothing, but suddenly, we're seeing an emerging attachment that doesn't Have to be read as romantic but Could be

Like she's daydreaming about all the visits she'd make back here and missing Meredith like crazy and she hasn't even Left the place yet

A flower literally just fell into Isla's hair. The wind is giving you its blessing

(this is why I don't write romance anymore - i s2g i forgot there was meant to be any romance until this final section and then just had to try my best to make it work lmao)

'I suppose this might be a good-bye gift,' Meredith murmured as she held the lavender to her nose. 'It seems so,' Isla agreed sadly. 'Well, I'll remember you fondly by it.' (i truly have nothing else to add)

The next night, you'll never guess who shows up

'Isla was preparing to head over to see Meredith when a heavy gust of wind sent her back to the grove. Her breath caught, and she struggled against the weight of it as she pinned herself against one of the trees. When the wind had settled a little, she coughed. 'It's good to see a familiar face,' greeted a voice on the wind. The west wind. He had made his appearance at last.' (no waaaay)

'The world is wide. I've had a long journey. Let's not talk of my shortcomings.' The wind rustled in the trees, like a parent ruffling their child's hair.' well that's a lot friendlier than the east wind's version of harassing her

The moment comes for Isla to confirm that she wants to go, and she's suddenly unsure, what a useless lil ghost

'Five.' Isla leaned against one of her trees, wrapping an arm against the trunk and pressing her cheek to its rough bark. Her grove. 'Four.' In her mind, she built castles with moats, and raging rivers filled with crocodiles and man-eating fish. Exciting adventures waiting to happen, just beyond the grave. The west wind could carry her there. 'Three.' Dandelion seeds blew by on the wind, floating past her towards the moor. Flowers and trees, lovely things that could not make a home. They could be found anywhere, but Isla wasn't sure she'd ever care as much for the orchids and baobabs as she did for her dandelions, her daffodils, and her oak. 'Two.' There were kings and queens out there, like the stories she'd heard growing up. Music she'd never had a chance to hear. Inventions that had never crossed into the churchyard. Mankind had been growing, and building, and progressing, and she wanted to see it, to know it, to understand. There were books to read, and markets and courts and wonders beyond anything she knew. Anything she could know, stuck here. 'One.' Meredith. 'Have you made your choice?' Isla looked up and pushed off from the tree. With a smile tugging at the edges of her lips, she stared face-first into the wind and gave a short, decisive nod.' (and roll credits!)

And thus concludes the shortest project I've ever written in November! (Technically, I think I wrote a few short stories following this and 'Downstairs, 4 Hawthorn Rd.' back in 2021, but I can't be sure which were written when, so I'm sticking with these two) There's a lot of thoughts I'll probably include in the wrap-up, but I'll just say here: that romance arc really came out of more-or-less nowhere. Would've loved to see a little more build-up lol but then again, it's November, maybe I hadn't decided to include it at all until this section. Who's to say? But if I ever do return to this WIP, just know that these are decisions I would be making Prior to rewriting the draft!

(For a brief bit of context, I used to have a writing partner I'm going to refer to as M. My friendship and writing with her ended in late 2021.)

You know, I think one of the most cathartic things about having complete control over all of my own works is that I'm able to change things for the better.

It's only been a year since I've finally been able to look at my old works with M and actually make changes to it/remove things I didn't like of hers, but...

Some of my old character arcs, old stories, were stuck in ways I didn't like because of her. There's a lot to it, and far more than I want to get into... but part of it is that I really like growing and developing characters, and she really didn't like things changing (which is kinda fair tbf but still).

I've changed old things to give a lot of old characters (who were far too punished) very satisfying and cathartic character arcs that wouldn't have been possible with her. It's brought a strange kind of relief, and idk... I kinda wanted to share it lol.

But, also...

With the creation of Faerie's Dawn, and how freeing it is to work in the early timeline of the worldbuilding, I realized how much easier and less stressful it is for me to work from the bottom up. Sure, I have much more planned in the later parts of the timeline, but...

... there's also time travel. 🙂

Anyhow, one of the ways it's sooooooo much less stressful working in the early years in the timeline is that I'm actually able to bring in some of the more "obscure" characters I otherwise wouldn't be able to share for one reason or another.

One of which being Mistral. 😉

Which, on that note... I've recently actually decided that I'm going to focus on the early timeline of my writing from now and on (tho I might write SaS right after Faerie's Dawn for Reasons™ lol), which means another story centering on a different Human Faewilde Settlement and two characters named Rahim and Orir! 😄🥰

I would argue that Joe was even less weird than Jack when it came to talking about Taylor. Jack only ever talked about Saoirse when they were doing promo for mqos, after that he did avoid questions about his private life. He would say he was in a relationship, that it had been a good year, that he was with someone he admired. But he would never mention Saoirse. The only difference is that he was more active on instagram so he would share some pictures of her, but it was always pictures of her back.

In 2021, he started posting more pictures where you could see her face and he shared a video of them reenacting a scene from Braveheart which had some articles written about it, so he was asked about getting more attention in an interview and he replied that he hadn’t noticed any difference.

It was in 2022, when he was promoting Benediction and The Outrun had been announced, that he started talking about her in interviews. Saoirse had nothing to promote so she didn’t really talk about him and The Outrun, but in one of her See How They Run interviews, she did say something about “my partner”. So once The Outrun had been announced, they got more comfortable talking about each other.

Then they got married, Jack got nominated for an Emmy and The Outrun was coming out. So they decided to start being a team, go to the Emmys together and start talking about each other freely.

Joe was never nearly as weird as they were, because it would make no sense to pretend he isn’t dating Taylor Swift, but he also had to be more careful than them. People who speak to Jack about Slow Horses don’t seem to care about Saoirse that much, so she doesn’t get brought up often. But there have been multiple articles written about a lot of the things Saoirse has said about Jack, and he’s far from Taylor Swift. Joe talking about Taylor in any capacity would derail the promo of his projects, so he didn’t want to do that. But that doesn’t mean he was embarrassed of her, he clearly wasn’t, and under the right circumstances, he might’ve ended up talking about her the way Jack and Saoirse do now 🤷🏻‍♀️

The thing is ANYONE vaguely mentioning Taylor kind of makes everything about that. A lot of people bring her up in terms of like "here's a cool story about the most famous person I've ever met" and the thing is once they do, they're almost always repeatedly asked about it. All her friends are ALWAYS asked about her, even when it's entirely irrelevant to whatever they're actually talking about lmao. You can also tell that it annoys some people but like they also have a lot of other shit to talk about so it's a mildly annoyingish sidebar and then it's back to whatever the main topic of conversation was. If Joe had indulged discussing Taylor more, that is ALL anyone would've ever asked him about. Like tbf it is far, far more interesting to the internet at large what Taylor Swift has for breakfast and what time she goes to take a poop (is she a morning or night girl) than whatever the fuck Joe wanted to be talking about. And if he'd indulged it more, then those are the kinds of questions (hyperbolic but also not really) he'd have been fielding and like... they'd wanted to be private lmao and also his projects would never have been promoted as what they were, it would've just been a discussion of Taylor lol. But obviously if it were relevant (and when it was relevant) then he wouldn't have been (and generally speaking wasn't) a complete freak about it.

I really don't know what people wanted him to do differently lol because like... it would've just been a little chaotic and inappropriate if he'd done it Travis's way? Also because Travis actually doesn't speak to PRESS that much about her, he talks on his podcast and friends' podcasts and stuff and that's a different platform and even so you can tell like sometimes he wants to talk about other stuff but he did this to himself and for the most part he enjoys the ride. But he's also a very, very different man to Joe ergo having a podcast in the first place lol because I can't really imagine Joe wanting to do that - and that doesn't make Joe better or worse, they're just very different people.

11. Have you ever sat front row at a show?

- I wonder if this is about literally sitting in the front row or just being in the front row in general, because why the heck would you sit down on the front row (unless, of course, you have a physical disability or smth)?! 😅 At least if we're talking about rock shows and the like; at a classical concert it migh be more common to sit down 🤔😂 Anyway, yes I have been at the front row, in my latest concert (BC) last month and also at BC's Stockholm show last summer, as well as Käärijä's Ruisrock show this past summer!

14. Are you a phone in hand recording/taking pics so you can watch later concert goer or a phone in pocket living in the moment type?

- I do film videos during shows, although not the entire time, obviously. I like to have at least something I can look at and hold on to afterwards; living in the moment is great and all and I get the sentiment that memories are more valuable than "things", but bruh, memories fade?! I for one can't remember shit about any concert I've ever been to when enough time has passed 😅 They are just fleeting moments, and that's why I also like writing concert reports (I don't know how interesting they are to anyone else, but I'm writing them mostly for myself anyway). Also, especially at BC shows there's just sooooo much stuff happening on the stage all at once and it's sometimes difficult to decide what you're gonna focus on, so it's fun to look at the videos afterwards and notice all kinds of silly stuff that went on in front of your very eyes without you even realizing it at the time 😂 At the same time, I do think it's easier to focus and just enjoy the show when you're not filming/taking pictures (tbf I never take pictures except sometimes by accident, they always turn out so blurry and unfocused so there's no point), which is why I loved the BC show in Lahti in 2021, because I got to both enjoy the show with no phone in my hand AND I had a bunch of front row quality videos to look at afterwards because the sweet girl in front of me wanted to film me videos as a thank you for lending her a hairtie 😭 I also rarely film during the songs I REALLY want to just get absorbed in, e.g. WANS for Blind Channel

TBF, it's not just because Republicans were working against him.

Part of the issue is that we tell people that it's important to vote blue, and then they do, and then quite a few things don't get done, not just because Republicans fought against them, but because that small critical mass of Democrats also fought against them. We don't have a public option, or several other things that would've made the ACA a stronger bill, because Joe Lieberman and several other Democrats refused to vote for it. We don't have a new voting rights act because Manchin and Sinema refused to vote for it. We haven't even been able to remove the filibuster, for crying out loud, a completely self-imposed restriction whose abolition amounts to the basic principle of "maybe when Democrats get a majority in the Senate they should actually be able to pass stuff," because too many too-broad-minded-for-my-own-party Democrats in both 2009-2011 and 2021-2023 went "no, we don't want that, we don't think parties should actually be allowed to govern, that's just partisan, which is bad."

So yes, there are low-infos who literally think the Presidency of the United States is a dictatorship. But there are also a lot of low-infos who think, okay, you told me to vote blue, I did vote blue, we got majorities for the White House, the House, and the Senate, so why isn't this passing and how can you still say that it's all the Republicans' fault? And while this too speaks to a poor understanding of U.S. politics, it also comes from the not unreasonable expectation that you should be able to vote for Democrats and get, well, Democratic governance.

This gets even worse at the state level, where you can see things like a Democratic state senator in North Carolina getting elected and then switching parties to give Republicans a supermajority, or a group of New York Democrats forming an Independent Democratic Committee to caucus with Republicans and keep the government de facto in their hands for most of the previous decade. This kind of thing is why "controlled opposition" narratives proliferate on Facebook and have no trouble finding believers.

The short version is that we need more and better Democrats, but my God, is the second half of that sentence as important as the first.

It's finally dawning on me that a lot of hard leftists actually do think the US presidency is already a dictatorship.

Like they think that the reason the Biden administration didn't cancel college debt on the grand scale they pictured, is that he just didn't want to. They have no comprehension just how much Republicans were working against him to stop literally anything he could do to make things in this country less dogshit. (BTW, this is why we need to vote blue all the way down the ticket.)

And then they think they can elect some third party rando with no actual allies in the senate or congress or anywhere, and people will just have to do what they say, and won't try to sabotage them even harder because they're even further left. (The aforementioned efforts to sabotage Biden? It would be even worse for an actual leftist president.)

i will say, while i do like the deco*27 songs i have listened to, they do all sound the fucking same; i tend to like existing remixes of them a lot more lol

i was really disappointed by the new release "Hao", i heard the hardstyle drum/bass beats in the beginning and i wish they(idk their pronouns) had stuck with a different style instead of reverting to the same pop rock style they always use

a similar phenomenon i've noticed with country, specifically wrt my actual listening habits, lauren alaina can also be really formulaic with her compositions, though tbf she collaborates with other people in writing those songs, and i will give her a bit more leeway because i'm biased lol anyway; her 2017 album Road Less Traveled gets a pass to me because the subject matter is varied enough for me to not care, whereas Sitting Pretty On Top Of The World (2021) has so. many. songs. about. relationship. problems. that it gets kind of annoying? it especially did on my first listen-through.

hachioji-p, one of my fav vocaloid artists, on the other hand, still has his distinctive electronic style, but it has evolved over the years(see his most recent album HIDEOUT vs older albums like Desktop Cinderella), and while some tracks of his sound similar in style, there is plenty of variety in structure. plus listening to his forays into new subgenres like hardstyle("JOUOU" was made for prosekai afaik specifically to be difficult to play but it still slaps) and slower, more romantic, poppier music ("Baby I Love You") is fun! i guess what i'm trying to say is it still sounds like him?

non-serious AU where Pokemon fuckery happens while in Hisui and Ingo and Akari switch ages. they get stuck in a space time distortion and when they come out, Ingo is 15 and Akari is 29 but are otherwise mentally the same.

finally the great debate over Ingo’s actual age is settled, but not in the way everyone thought it would be. Melli is so frustrated bc he’s either forced to admit that Akari must just have really, really good genes to looks so young at 50 or that Ingo was actually a lot younger than he’d thought.

Lady Sneasler sees that her warden has gotten so much smaller and her eyes just sparkle. he is truly a little kit now. she’s going to dote on him so much.

tbf the urge to dote on teen Ingo is very strong. his glaring eyes and constant frown wrap back around into being adorable when put on a teen’s face.

Akari is having the time of her LIFE. She’s a cool adult now. Arezu I need a new cool adult hairstyle STAT.

It’s less fun when she keeps hitting her head on things bc she’s used to being short though.

Akari still refers to Ingo as ‘Uncle Ingo’ though, just bc old habits die hard and also it is very funny to me.

Ingo’s coat is too big for him now so he just resorts to wearing it tied around his waist instead. He begrudgingly gives his hat to Anthe to (hopefully) temporarily resize and she sneaks in a few repairs while she’s at it. maybe if this problem doesn’t resolve itself she’ll finally be given a chance to fix his damn coat. it bothers her every time she sees it.

some other fun facts:

Akari is fifteen years old when she’s dropped into Hisui. Immediately upon arrival, she’s attacked by a wild Pokemon and is badly injured. Irida is thankful that Lord Zoroark was there to find the strange girl and bring her back to the settlement- it likely saved her life. It’s a shame about her memories, however, but it is to be expected with a head injury as bad as hers.

Lord Zoroark frets over the girl the entire time. It’s kind of sweet, he seems to really care about her. Maybe this could be a good thing! This girl has nowhere else to go, and they have been looking for a Warden for him... maybe this is the solution they need.

Akari gratefully accepts the role, although she wishes it didn’t meant living in a tent on the boundary between the Icelands and the Highlands. It’s not as freezing there as the Settlement, but it’s still cold. At least Lord Zoroark will let her bury herself in his fur on the really chilly days.

Ingo does not really know what to make of his new lot in life. He supposes he’s grateful that he’s come to an understanding with the humans, but being assigned a Warden feels... strange. He’s not used to be treated like a Pokemon, as much as he’s always been one. He grew up being raised human, after all.

He does... sort of get used to it. There’s not much he can do about it. He cannot go home, and he’s unsure if it would even truly be a good idea. He regrets leaving things unresolved with Emmet, but maybe it’s better this way. Maybe this is his punishment.

He does grow very attached to his Warden, though. He sees Akari as a little sister, and helps teach her how to survive in Hisui.

A year into living in Hisui, Akari discovers Lord Zoroark can speak human language. He definitely didn’t mean for her to find out. She promises to keep it a secret, even from Irida!

Sometimes Ingo debates telling Warden Akari his name. It would be nice to hear it from someone that isn’t a Pokemon, but he decides against it. He’s gotten somewhat used to being called Lord Zoroark anyways.

It doesn’t matter anyways, because a year later Lord Braviary gets a new Warden. Sabi knows his human name somehow, but she promises she won’t tell anyone else. She also knows he can speak. When he hears she’s clairvoyant, he’s not even surprised. That makes sense.

Ingo befriends a Gligar and a Machop during his time in Hisui, and without really thinking about it, helps train them. It reminds him a bit of his old life, so he enjoys it. Akari thinks they’re his friends, and helps find the items to achieve their final evolutions. People naturally assume they’re her Pokemon.

Akari has a Mismagius and a Lucario! She doesn’t tell anyone that Lord Zoroark has been helping her train them. That would sound so silly!

The Pearl Clan grows to deeply respect their new Noble Pokemon. He is not nearly as intimidating as he first appears, and seems... strangely polite for a Pokemon, much less a Zoroark. For his part, Ingo finds it strange to be spoken to with such respect and reverence but he does get kind of used to it after awhile.

The Pearl Clan also finds out that you can summon him just by blowing three short notes into the Celestica Flute. They do not know that he’s just responding to a reasonable approximate of a train whistle.

Even after Ingo is restored to his human body and everyone returns to the present, Ingo and Akari keep calling each other ‘Warden Akari’ and ‘Lord Zoroark’ out of pure force of habit. They sort of give up on correcting it after awhile.

scenario where Ingo returns to the future but he’s still in Sinnoh and doesn’t have his memories, so he just chills there for like a year until someone finally recognizes him as the missing Subway Boss and gets into contact with Emmet.

He’s just been living in Celestic Town all this time. Most of the elderly locals just know him as the very polite young man who helps them with the upkeep of their homes and daily tasks that become more challenging as they start to get older. One of them lets him stay a spare room in their home, and they all just sort of assume (not incorrectly) that he’s a time traveler who ended up in the future and doesn’t have anywhere else to go. Cynthia visits her grandmother a couple of times during that year, but she always just misses him so they never end up meeting.

Ingo simply did not realize he’d been returned to his own time! He didn’t remember! So he just did what he did in Hisui- adjusted. At least he got to keep his Pokemon with him this time. He’s pretty sure he didn’t the last time! He’s just starting to think that this is something that just happens to him every couple of years or so. Occasionally he challenges trainers who pass through, always excited for the rare chance to battle and help these young trainers improve their technique.

akari’s arc-phone has a food delivery app. if she uses it, a tiny portal forms in front of whoever was unlucky enough to pick up her order at which point they just sort of. drop the bag through the space time hole. it’s a little jumbled up once Akari catches it, but hey!! she’s got take out now!!

Akari: UNCLE INGO CHECK IT OUT. I CAN GET US BURGERS.

(Akari places the order. Seconds later, a bag of fast food burgers drops from the sky. she catches it expertly)

I have a question about something I saw on twitter about Stephane not being a good coach because of the Rika situation and something that happened with Dennis, but like, i really don't understand and i really dont know what they mean i haven't hear anything bad about Stephane before and now i am curious. Do you know anything about that?

I think to put Stephane Lambiel on a pedestal is wrong because no human - skater or coach - is perfect and without flaws.

One thing is for sure there is no skater who ever has come forward with any allegations against Stephane, but tbf that doesn't say much. I think though that we actually don't know that much about how he is in training behind closed doors. We know a lot about abusive methods when skaters or coaches are open about it like Team Tutberidze and don't even find fault in that, but with Stephane we know his approach which I find no fault in and the outside view he gives off at events

That being said first I don't know what situation exactly the "Deniss situation" is referring to, but Deniss has been coached by Stephane Lambiel for the most of his senior career and I know perspectives that say that Stephane is maybe too invested into his skaters to not have the best coach-student professional distance and I can understand this perspective from an educator point of view. For example to let a skater live at your home even if it is shorttime. I have no direct example with Deniss Vasiljews I could name that was problematic, so I can't help much with that.

Rika Kihira is a different case in my opinion. The criticism is that Stephane contributed to aggravating Rika's injury by letting her train and compete when she was under Stephane's supervision. Some also said his methods were wrong like practicing with weights. I think there was no explicit discription of her training though, so it's hard to judge whether those weight lifting methods harmed her or not. Rika fans give Stephane fault for her poor outcome at Worlds 2021 and competing at WTT 2021 with an injury.

Rika came to Champery for a training camp, it was never meant to be a long time solution, it happened because of the pandemic and Stephane was just an interim coach for Rika. Mie Hamada was still her coach and imo still the one with the most say in decisions and until this day she is still listed as her coach. Rika was already injured when she went to Stephane for that camp. And injuries don't just disappear. Did Mie Hamada let her rest and recover from her injuries before she went to Stephane? No she didn't. Rika has been dealing with injuries for all of her senior career. So at this point I don't how much you can blame her injuries aggravating on Stephane. Still training with this much load certainly didn't help but show me any skater who isn't dealing with some kind of injury, it's a side effect of elite sports. It doesn't make it better though or excuses that the injury couldn't heal.

But I think we have to consider some things. Here comes the part with unpopular stuff that lots of ppl don't mention, that I do think have played a big part as well and makes putting blame not that easy: Rika is not a child who can't decide for herself. Rika has always emphasized how much she decides on her own about her training, a thing many Rika fans are proud of btw. It was her decision this season also to return to competition despite doctors telling her she would need 6 months off ice to heal. Now she is with Brian Orser and I don't see those complaints ppl had with Stephane with Brian. It's the same situation. I don't say that because I want ppl to blame Brian as well, but because she is making her own decision despite knowing the doctors advise. So it's on you to decide whether Stephane would have had to keep her off ice and if he would have been able to do that. 2nd and this is something that a lot of ppl don't even ever adress, she didn't spend much time in Champery between Japanese Nationals which she won with the first quad by a Japanese women (and she didn't seem to be badly prepared or more injured than before) and Worlds 2021. After JNats she stayed in Japan to do ice shows, she went to a training camp in the US with Mie Hamada, she just returned to Champery one week before Worlds. So who was in charge of her well being at this point and for her preparation, Stephane? Well...partly... We know the outcome at Worlds and it was pure heartbreak. She really didn't seem to be herself at all in the free skate. Rika, just like the other Japanese competitors, had to go to Japan right after Worlds because of the covid protocols. Stephane didn't accompany them, but came later with the rest of the teams. She should have withdrawn from that competition, but I am not sure if she was able to because she would have had to make that decision directly after Worlds to let someone else take her place. Already at the event it was impossible due to the covid protocols to just bring someone else in. So I am almost sure she wouldn't have wanted for Japan to place last because they would get 0 points for one women. It's a team competition you cannot just think about yourself. There's also a lot of money at stake for everyone competing there. We also don't know if she got pressure by sponsors etc. So again the question remains how much influence Stephane really had on those decisions about withdrawals.

I think we should consider those things for a final judgment. Btw it's not about blaming Rika at all, even if it may sound like it, I am aware that Rika is influenced by her surroundings and upbringing and this sport expects you to perform even if you're unwell. The sport career is too short to wait for injuries to heal. So I do understand why Rika competed and practiced. I just think the plan for her 2020-2021 season - no matter who had the final say in that - was not a good one and mismanaged on all sides.

Was there mismanagement in Rika's case? For sure. On Stephane's part? I won't say it's got nothing to do with him. But I actually blame mostly Mie Hamada. She is the reason Rika never healed from injuries, she is the one who had most influence on Rika's mindset about competing while injured. Rika was in Stephane's care for a while, so he is not free of any faults, maybe he should have not agreed to be her coach or insisting on her rest. It's always easy to blame without all information on our part. I just think it's not as black and white and easy like "Stephane destroyed Rika" or "he's a bad coach"

Is Stephane a good coach? I think there is no entirely good coach anywhere. And not every coach no matter how good they are for one skater may do the same good coaching on another skater. I think certain styles and methods work for different ppl for some they are right and for some they are wrong. So I don't even have an opinion about if Stephane is a good coach. I just know that he is a good match and coach for Shoma,but that doesn't necessarily mean he is a good coach for everyone and it doesn't mean he couldn't have been a better coach for Rika. (Rika herself never said any bad word about Stephane and praised training in Champery, but I am not sure of the value of such statements as no one knows what is really going on between a skater and their coach behind closed doors unless your name is Eteri Tutberidze and your not even ashamed of your methods to even let camera film them

Not sure if this was the answer you were hoping for, but this at least is as far as I know about the situation with Rika and shows my not knowledge about a Deniss situation.

controversial anon here again - thank you for your considered reply, and i just wanted to clarify that i don't necessarily think that john would BELIEVE the right wing conspiracy crackpot theories, but looking at his (as you put it) tendencies towards magical thinking, distrust of authority, wild mood swings, and incredibly distrust of the press, i just wonder if he'd be, well, kinda clapton-y in this moment. not marching for trump but saying really, really problematic things about the pandemic and politics, etc. or even health and wellness. that whole "i'm not scared of the big C because i eat macrobiotic" just echoes so strongly of "you should drink only lemon water and eat this highly restrictive diet to cleanse your body of toxins" or "i don't bet my kids vaccinated because i don't know what toxins big pharma is putting into these shots" etc. etc. like, i can see wellness conspiracy lennon in 2021, had he lived this long.

it's also possible that had he lived, he would have been properly reunited with paul as a friend and even potential collaborator, and the other beatles too, and we know that 1. all of them have stayed left of center and 2. they had a mellowing effect on each other. so it's entirely possible none of the above would have happened at all, that he'd be playing concerts with springsteen for obama and biden, that he'd be using his voice to ridicule brexit up and down the land, that he'd be marching for black lives matter, etc. etc. it's really hard to know. the possibilities go both ways.

but so much of his 70s interviews were so unhinged and so REACTIVE that it made me wonder. the real justice in it all would have been him getting to live so we could find out. but it occurs to me from time to time that had he lived, the potential for him to tarnish his image/legacy and the beatles' legacy was very, very high. that's all.

I think you touch on a bigger point with your comment on the Beatles mellowing each other out. (although tbf they're kind of all right-wing from a tax perspective)

I think John's more unhinged, superstitious beliefs correlated a lot with his current mental state cause he had a tendency to throw himself into belief systems and liked explaining away his complicated life problems with simple answers, which is EXACTLY how 99% of people fall into conspiracies. So basically, if he had mentally recovered slightly in later years, which IMO is entirely possible, I fully believe that would've extended to a general reduction in his paranoia. Also: a good support system would've been helpful. He didn't have much of one at all in the latter half of his life.

I feel like, either he would be pedalling this shit in 2021 and have endured an incredibly shitty, isolated life or he would've come out of his darkness and be normal enough. I don't see him (or maybe just don't want to) being all fine and dandy but also spewing anti-mask shit on twitter.

Re: max. I don't deny that he's definitely grown in maturity and is much more cool and collected. But I wonder how he'd be on track with more competition. Last year he looked all put together and "perfect", but I think that it's because he knew he had it in the bag pretty early on. 2021 he still had flashes of impatience towards the end of the season when things were closer like in Brazil and Saudi with some dodgy moves, so just wonder how he'd behave if that were to happen again. I think also that's why you can't really compare charles this past season and his France error, because at that point he was under quite a bit of pressure - pressure that max wasn't really under for the whole 2022 season because even after his bad start to his season the gap was never that big.

Tbf they all have their moments where they lose it a bit.

I think it's also always a question of who they are battling. Because osme drivers characteristics work better together than others.

Also re Brazil that es imo a racing incident. That shit just happens. Lewis shut the door hard for someone that kinds had to know that Max was still there but this happens. I just wouldn't lay the blame solely at Max for that.
