S2x03 The Lost Commanders - S2x04 Relics of the Old Republic

So. Oof. These two episodes are- I love these two episodes, I do. They’re not my favourites but they are top 15. 

So. I really, really do not like how Ahsoka acts in this episode. I mean, I kind of get it, but also I really do not like it. It’s not that it’s bad character writing or just anything bad, but it’s more of Ahsoka’s actions in regards to Kanan. Literally, I have so many feelings about that first scene, but I do think that Angry Me ranting on discord can explain my feelings quite well. I will, of course, comment on that too.

Now, I know perfectly well that Ahsoka couldn’t know about anything that happened to Kanan, but she still knew that he survived Order 66 and that clones turned on him. If she’s smart, she might’ve gleaned that he was a Padawan and fighting in the Clone Wars - which means she knew that he wouldn’t have been alright with clones. And yet she sent them on their way and just told Kanan to “trust him”. Dick behaviour, I’m telling you.

So, about this. my memory might be faulty with regards to TCW, but I just watched today Tales of the Jedi, and Ahsoka has been shown to have kept contact with Bail Organa, and in Rebels she’s said to have lost contact with Rex, Wolffe and Gregor, which implies they had been keeping in contact up to a certain point. She was alone, but it was by choice, and that’s the core difference between how she lived Order 66 and how Kanan lived it. Ahsoka had support. Kanan only had himself. 

I have nothing against Ahsoka, really. She’s a good character. I just think this was a dick move.

Ahsoka Ep3 implications for TBB S3

So naturally there was a lot of spin post S2 about oh they want Omega because Force Sensitive or w/e. I think we can now safely say, that's NOT it. Omega isn't any more Force Sensitive than any other clone (or maybe she is by a tiny hair per the events in Aftermath but we're talking hardly at all).

The S3 cloning plot will be, I suspect, about making a clone of the Emperor MORE powerful in the Force. My reasoning:

The Zillo Beast from Metamorphosis was an altered clone (just like the Batch HMMMMM), Tech specifically mentions that its hide is impervious to blaster fire (but the nullification rays from TCW obviously still work, as does stasis gel). So, they're not just working on cloning more complex creatures, they're working on modifying them in very specific, powerful ways.

Since ep3 Ahsoka establishes anyone CAN use the Force, just natural aptitude and talent are a thing, this means a clone of the Emperor MIGHT NOT come out as strong as OG Sheev is. In fact, it might come out much worse. So, he may want assurances that won't happen, but also, could they amp him some?

Finally, here's another option: what if Sheev never WAS very skilled with the Force to begin with. What if he was like Sabine, and found some terrible Sith way to basically be a Force Vampire and drain skill and power from others. And now that he wants to consider cloning himself into a fancy new body he has the issue of, well I don't want my busted ass original self! So...

Lots of options this opens up for things to be a bit more interesting. I'm not sure 'anyone can learn the Force' works in the overall worldbuilding but I appreciate that it deep sixes Force Sensitivity as a special feep only some people have. GOODBYE, SPECIALNESS GENE. FUCK OFF FOREVER.

You’re an imperial officer who works with clones. Cody tells you he’s going AWOL and wants you to come with him.

(This took me a while to write because I wanted to make sure it was good enough..)

You were once an officer for the Republic with a nice office and the sun shone through the windows.. not your office had no windows. It was drab and bland.

The one joy you got was when Commander Cody brought you mission reports every day. He always brought a smile to your face.

However today he hadn’t come to see you. You were just thinking that perhaps he was too busy or out on a mission.

It was close to the night when you heard a knock at your door. Cody walked into your office and made sure no one was following him before he closed the door. Which caused you feel a little alarmed.

“Do you not have a mission report commander?”

“No. I.. I came to ask you something”

“Of course Commander”

He sighed deeply and looked into your eyes

“You used to call me Cody.. when we were in the Republic.”

“Well.. once the empire took over you changed.. We were asked to cal you by rank. I just didn’t want to make you angry”

His face fell at your reaction. Why would he be angry at you? Perhaps he did things he couldn’t remember..

“For anything that happened.. that I did to you I’m so very sorry”

He walked over to your seat behind your desk. He crouched in front of you and put his hands around yours.

“I never stopped loving you Mesh’la. I couldn’t help the things I did.. but In the back of my head the two things I remember.. what I did to General Kenobi and my love for you.”

“Oh Cody.. please don’t cry”

His eyes were about to burst. Too many memories flooded back.

“Cyare I’m leaving. I’m getting away from the empire..”

You looked at him in shock. How would he be able to do that?

“Please.. please come with me..”

His hands cupped your faces. How could you say no.. you would go anywhere with him.

“I will. I will Cody but what will we do”

“We will find help.. Gregor escaped maybe we could find him?”

“Your too optimistic for your own good”

You both share a small chuckle.

“Well. Let’s do it. I’m with you Cody”

He nodded and pulled you out of your chair and out of your office. There was already a small shuttle on one of the docking bays.

“You had this planned for a while”

“I have.. if I left without you I would’ve come back to find you later.. but I can’t stay here anymore cyare”

“I’ll always go with you cody”

You take his hand and you walk onto the shuttle and leave the planet to find a safe space to lay low for a while.

You had both finally found Gregor.. and some other old friends.

“Rex?”

“It’s been a long time Cody. You too”

Rex looked at you and smiled

“Now. How about we get this chip removed. I’ll call the Bad Batch”

“They survived?”

“Yes. Come on we will talk more on the way”

Rex urged your both onto the ship. Cody took your hand in his and smiled down at you. This was a new beginning.. and you couldn’t wait for this new life with Cody.

YALL I JUST HAD A THOUGHT

So. So. So. So.

Slip knew that Rex could get him out, suggesting that all clones who remain loyal to the empire/are on active duty are aware that someone (if they don't already know for sure its Rex) is smuggling Deserters off world.

Rex had detailed plans and schematics of Coruscant ready to send to TBB when asking them to come help them and he likely had a secure comm channel (since Slip commed him) and a (semi-) safe rendezvous point suggesting that he has done this many times before.

In ep3 Cody is talking about the Regs and how more and more of them are deserting.

Cody. Deserted.

I am willing to bet good money that Rex got him out.

Hello fellas! Today im here to do some conspiracy around what could have possibly happened to Cody and what will possibly be crosshair's fate.

So after watching tbb s2 ep3 we got to know that Cody suddendly "disappeared" and rampart is now suspicious of crosshair.

So let me present you my theory.

I believe that cody didn't die. I think the empire realized that cody was almost turning against them, but somehow cody acknowledged that and managed to escape. I think cody might be hiding somewhere, while at the same time he is regretting the choices he couldn't avoid because of the chip.

My thoughts are that the empire is secretly hunting for cody while at the same time Rampart is trying to frame crosshair. Why do i say that? Well rampart now knows that CF99 is alive and since he ain't dumb he might know as well that crosshair worked with them on kamino to stay alive.

I believe that Rampart was expecting crosshair to turn them in or kill em, since he didn't do any of that, Rampart figured out that sooner or later crosshair would turn against the empire as well and so now he is trying to get him framed.

I dont know if we will see crosshair dying but i think so, and in a very tragic and sad way.

I think that rampart will capture crosshair and try to contact CF99 to bait them in to saving crosshair, after all they are still brothers. As soon as they get face to face rampart will shoot crosshair straight in the face.

Thats my theory. To believe it or not is your choice. Let me know what you think about it as well.

THE NEWEST EPISODE OMG

have i said that tech is the love of my life before?? because he is!!! this is a bit of a filler episode with some character development sprinkled in, but i ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. honestly racing is one of my favorite things, and the whole episode was awesome. ASSHAJDGSBDV TAY-0 was so cool man, such a silly little guy. THIS EPISODE WAS SO COOL MY LOVE FOR TECH HAS SKYROCKETED!!! the whole plot of the episoe was really cool in general! honestly a really amazing episode :)) (ngl tech is rlly hot-)

The only bad thing in this episode is how tech walked off a FUCKING FRACTURED FEMUR, HOW IS HE WALKING CORRECTLY (i mean maybe bacta could do that but idk how it works) AAAAA-

another routine episode. seems like they heard *some* feedbacks of last season and shifted the focus away from Hunter, but as usual, TBB could just never seem to scratch the itch.

“Serenno before Separatist” is an interesting angle, though was Dooku not popular in canon? The indpendency from the ep3′s planet would’ve made more sense for a pride and wealth of the Separtist head figure’s homeworld, while the local nationalism would’ve been more fitting for that peripheral world that drove them to separatism in the first place.

ep4 features a, welcomed, sassy droid and a predictable plot. It puts Tech in the center, Wrecker and Omega were there, but there wasn’t much between the two batchers? Tech just stay correct, again, in the end.

So far, I’m watching TBB just to check a task off. It’s trying to improve something (except, uh, the elephant in the room), but its writing was always just a step away from delivering. There’s this looming sense of “Well, that could just be any other clone”. What’s so special about the batchers besides their skillsets or physicality? If you’re not gonna deliver a layered post-Empire galaxy, at least build on your character relationships.

TBB S2 maybe trying to take a break from the "kid’s show" formula, but anything it tries would only be one season too late for me.

Tbb s2 ep3 silly thought

So the comment about clones disappearing around Cross, is that reference to the batch, or is there more? Is Cross staying in the empire to help clones escape? Or am I reading too much into that one line LOL wishful thinking maybe 😅

Crosshair trains Kenobi’s Tala and Mandolorian’s Miggs. Both are Sharpshooters that grew disillusioned with the Empire. Tala is a sharpshooter by her Clint Eastwood stances, and Miggs has outright performed near impossible shots.

Why are the Sharpshooters specifically disillusioned? Each were inspired to, yes, but were inspired by different ways to do the same thing. Why would this logical conclusion occur?

Because somebody else showed the same example. Ran into an Event they couldn’t ignore then left the Empire.

Why did Crosshair grow disillusioned?

... Because Cody died.
