it’s not as polished as I would like but I also made this as a quick color ref for my friends Lol, so I thought i’d share it here as well!

Messing around with some modded heads in character creation and decided 'what if the Emperor made Tanit's Dream Guardian look like Tanit and Astarion's future kid à la Trunks from DBZ?' as a joke. Tanit isn't actually aware of this lol. It was more just a challenge to myself to see if I could make their daughter in CC and see what she would look like in-game.

Her name is Azura! She would have been born around 7-10 after the events of BG3. She also has younger, identical twin sisters named Lyra and Nova because wild magic surge: it's twins! (might make a post of their designs later idk). In my mind's eye she takes pretty equally after both parents but in CC she definitely ended up taking more after Astarion (couldn't resist giving her his little forehead curl) and because I'm insane here's some cute pics of them looking similar.

ive been thinking about tav having kids post game and the companions relationship with said kids and this took over my brain until i drew it. daddy halsin taught lucien to whittle and he asked shadowheart what her favorite animal was "for no reason" so he could make her a little gift :>

I love the idea of him eventually becoming like the family heirloom that gets passed down through the generations. Some families have antiques. Tav's descendants have their great-great-great-great vampire grunkle that just kinda comes and goes like a stray cat bc he still has his own adventures but is there for them if and when shit gets real.

blahhhhh imagine having a baby with astarion, i just know his genes would be strong and it would be the most darling child ever 🥺

but when your breasts are sore from feeding your child, you’ll be cursing Astarion’s dumb face lmao but he will just look at you so lovingly, like he is just going to fall in love with you even more. it will do something for him to watch you take care of his handsome child.

imagine when they become a teenager, Astarion will be ridiculously proud of their good looks. of course, your kid will def have a ton of other even better qualities, but Astarion just loves seeing himself in someone else. like idk Astarion will be like “everyone admire my beautiful creation, thank you” he will be annoying about it.

you ever heard that grandchildren often resemble/favor one grandparent? ASTARION’S GRANDKID LOOKING JUST LIKE HIM and Astarion being like “omg 😭” when everyone tells him this.

i do kinda hate how most tavstarion/durgstarion stuff assumes tav/durge is like... the put together sane one of the two always rolling their eyes at astarions chaotic energies... like nah, my tav matches his chaotic energy tenfold. if Astarion taught their kid how to throw knives, Quinn would be like "ahaha sick! I wanna see : ) throw them at me, kid!!"

i can't believe we have tadpole to tadpole connection & know that the arcane tower is a perfect place to live ,, ugh, i love me a very long very slow burn relationship though & i love the idea of two traumatized people taking time to reassess & reassure themselves o f each other's feelings before fully diving into anything 😭😭 & exchanging letters ? im gonna be SICK.

( also the name tav is so cute like i've seen so many bard!tav ocs whose name's are tavern like ... it's so cute never let anyone say it's not cute 😭😭 aerea is only aerea because i didn't think the name daenerys suited the storyline [ im a huge asoiaf nerd ] )

i think ocs with defined backstories are so,, like aerea doesn't really have a past, according to her. she doesn't have a birthday, she doesn't know her parents' names despite having been adopted, she doesn't even really have a "personality" until meeting the companions due to the tadpole's interference with the dark urges so i think it's really awesome when people a re like "this is my tav & they're a NIGHTMARE."

i think because * a time for something biblical is partially aerea's canon, i LOVE headcanons about reading too !! she suffers from a lot of memory issues post-game so her love for reading isn't as great as it once was BUT she does pick up painting to re-evaluate her memories that way ( sometimes, the canvases are nothing but a splatter of shades of red ... sometimes, there is a white haired angel in the mess ... & astarion learns that's him. )

he DOES become like the witcher doesn't he 😭😭 now i'm imagining a blood hunter astarion ... hunting beasties & monsters because as a vampire spawn who has reacquired his powers, it's right up his alley .. AAAAA. i think sometimes aerea goes with him to hunt ( because she's still good at killing ) but only if there's rumors of bhaalspawn being involved, otherwise she's just waiting patiently as the chosen of jergal for ole withers to give her something to do.

astarion also reminds aerea of her ancestor he fell in love with, aelora. he tells aerea stories about how he used to court her back when things were "normal" & she thinks it's so interesting she was once a highborn noble elf whose father wanted her to marry someone else but she loved astarion so much then too ...

i like to think they have kids ...

So my Tav is actually named Tav (I'm a basic bitch I'm sorry) and they had started out as "you seem like a pretty dope person, so we might as well fuck" went to "you are suffering from The Horrors™ so maybe it's safer for us to remain the best of friends for now" (mostly on her end, as a fellow con artist and someone who has lived with and spent plenty of time in flop houses and brothels she knew he was using his body as a bargaining chip to survive) stopped at "I would haunt the entire realm in torment if I ever lost you"

Tav and Astarion gave each other the True Love warding rings as a joke. Then the two idiots fell in love with each other for real.

Tav spent her six months after the ending clearing out the Arcane Tower and getting it ready for Astarion to live in if he ever needed a safe place to stay when out being Faerûn's version of the Witcher. They spent the whole time writing letters to each other, dropping hints to see if one was still into the other. But both of them are stupid and didn't wind up talking about it until Withers/Jergal's party.

The amount of cuddles these two get up to is obscene. Astarion is a cat and he will not move if he is comfortable. If Tav must move him, there will be much whining and protesting

Astarion will be wrapping himself around Tav while she's reading a letter, a book, or anything. He loves being close to her and he loves to mouth at her neck without actually biting her.

Tav loves to comb her fingers through his hair. It's so soft and it makes him all sleepy and content. She swears he might even purr sometimes

I also drew their clothes that closely resemble their future classes. Funny how they still resemble Astarion more than Monty (Tav).

I have a lot of Thoughts and Feelings regarding Astarion and his treatment by the fandom in general where a lot of people tend to. Handle him almost with kid gloves where so many fics are about him healing and dealing with his hurt and comfort and. I’m not trying to like, bash anyone about it. I love me a good romance story where someone who’s suffered a lot finds comfort in another person.

BUT!!!

I think a romance with him is FARRRR more interesting / compelling/ MORE healing if he’s not the only one dealing with shit. You get a bit of it in the Durge run but I just in general think it’s more interesting if Tav/Durge/whoever you ship him with is also dealing with shit and they both are learning together how to get out of survival mode and learning to be better people. And I think Astarion wants and needs to feel needed back!!

There’s a bit of textual evidence that he’d prefer it himself in some dialogue - I believe after Cazador, (probably only Spawn route), you can say something about always wanting to protect him, and he says he does appreciate it but that he likes that they are both protecting each other.

Idk! Might be my own trauma talking but the idea of Tav as this selfless sweetheart that fixes all of Astarion’s issues by the end of the game isn’t satisfying to me. Tav shouldn’t be Astarion’s therapist.

Gimme a Tav that needs Astarion as much as he needs them. Gimme a Tavstarion romance where they mess up and fight and don’t always tip toe around each others issues but still at the end of the day know they’re better people because of each other and because they’re trying together. I think that’s a more satisfying love and fits the themes of Astarion’s character arc better.

I want to write an essay about bg3 character dynamics but I’m sure it’s all shit that’s been said by more eloquent people
