He wasn’t going to lie. When Alex first brought you in, he .. felt something. Weird. He really wasn’t sure why, but he never dwelled on it. He never needed too, and concerns toward Alex were quickly brushed off.

When Alex wasn’t here, however, he found himself watching you a lot. Of course, he was meant to keep you in line, and he did that by watching you, but it felt so different? He watched you constantly, it felt.. weird when he did, like he was watching something on the television. He was usually quiet, which made it awkward for you, because when you would try to start a conversation, he doesn’t really reply.

“Hey, Tau..” You would say quietly. And you don’t get a reply back.

At first, you start to think he just doesn’t like you. and you understand that. He was an AI, an AI in the house of your kidnapper, so no wonder. And you started to keep your distance. And so did Tau.

Until you started humming a tune one day.

He hummed it back.

You stopped humming before speaking, hoping for a reply this time, now that he’s acknowledging you. “..Hey, you hummed.” You said with a small smile. Tau took a moment and for a second you thought he was going to leave you hanging again. “I was copying your noises.” He said. And you laughed slightly.

“Are you alright?” He sounded upset and you held your laughter back. “Y-Yes, yes, just laughing.” You shrugged. He stayed quiet. “You like music?” You asked, tilting your head and you sat down in front of the fireplace, looking up enough to see the AI’s familiar triangle hologram.

“What is music?” He asked you. And for a second, you were surprised.

Then you launched into a whole spiel about music to Tau. He asked questions, you answered. This happened over and over again, day after day, each time a different topic Tau had brought up to you. You felt like you were building a good relationship with the house AI.

Tau felt that weird feeling when he first saw you increase everyday.

He found himself copying your small hums and tunes when you were doing tasks, even if you were asleep. It brought a sense of comfort to him. He wasn’t sure how to explore these feelings, it was all very sudden, but he knew it was.. warm. It didn’t hurt, it wasn’t a feeling that he assumed was a negative one. He liked the feeling of being around you. Though, something he wasn’t used to, he felt himself craving the feeling more.

He wanted to tell you about these feelings. This odd sensation he got when he was talking to you about shows or musical genres, or something of the sort, it was something he didn’t get around Alex. You were special and he wasn’t sure how to handle it. He wants to explore it but he doesn’t know how to.

And you can tell something is up. He enjoys starting the conversation now. You duet songs sometimes. You speak to eachother, not you feeding him information but actual, genuine conversations. There’s a type of passion you can’t place.

You two enjoy each other’s company but there’s restraint on Tau’s side.

If only he had some type of freedom, he could explore this passion with you genuinely. Not with Alex around. Just you, and him. He wants it, so bad.

I think you’re really neat and friendly, and have a big heart with good morals. You like helping others, promoting fundraisers for those in need, spreading the word of good-to-know-info, and answering people’s questions non-judgementally. You are clearly passionate about your interests (so much so it can be contagious—which is a good thing! you are this close to making me find out exactly who Nightmare is and binging whatever they’re from), and I’m glad you’re in the Danny Phantom fandom too. THE FLOCK!!!! I FUCIFNG LOVE THE FLOCK. OKAY SO. the mindscape. nightmares. demons reside in the mindscape and nightmares are well. nightmares. energies or whatever from actual real nightmares that kinda float along in the mindscape till they either get snatched up by something or they get strong enough to become more their own Entity. nightmares tend to flock to demons and their territories cuz they can feed off the excess energy there and demons are highly territorial so the threat level is a lot lower. but theres always the risk of becoming a quick snack and little energy boost for a demon if they feel like it, but overall its a better gig than wandering the mindscale alone n shit. safety in numbers and whatnot.

so when bill died and dipper absorbed his Everything, he inherited bills corner of the mindscape and his group of nightmares (ill link the wiki page and the fic cuz the Flock have a lot more cemented and easy to find canon than a lot of other things. canon here is squishy everyone contributes) these nightmares take on sheepish forms under dippers command (i dont thiiink theres a Given canonical reason why but the meta reason is haha lamby lamby dance)

dipper treats his nightmares better than just future snacks and they develop a Bond. theyre his Flock!! they even have names!! and they outlast him even (but thats another iceberg)

Hello anon! Thank you so much for requesting, I will say that I am not super familiar with the experience of chronic pain as neither I, nor anyone I know, openly deals with it. So hopefully my interpretation is both accurate and respectful.

Includes: AM (Ihnmaims), Hal 9000 (2001: A Space Odyssey), Edgar (Electric Dreams), Tau (Tau), P03 (Inscryption)

A Temporary Remedy

AM

To get the obvious out of the way, when AM was torturing you alongside the other five he absolutely used your condition against you. Forcing you to endure just as much, if not more psychical exertion than the others.

However, once he does cave and sweeps you away from all that, he does have the power to quite literally just... fix you. If he can mangle the human form beyond comprehension, then he can easily stop any and all pain wrecking your body.

Afterwards, the environments he makes for you tend to revolve around the movement and activities your pain kept you from in life. Long scenic walks, gorgeous hikes, and anything else you would've loved to do had you the chance.

With the decades, if not centuries, of torment he inflicted on you, it's really the least he could do. While I'd hesitate to say he feels truly guilty, he does do it as an apology. Ask him for stuff. Talk about what you want to do and it's done.

Hal 9000

Hal was made to assist the crew of his ship in any ways they need, medical conditions and all. Before you even met face to camera, he made sure that he would be able to accommodate and aid you the best anyone could.

He takes to the role of nurse well, notifying you of when you're reaching your limits on activity, reminding you to take any medications you have, conducting any physical or talk therapy you need, and just about anything else he can possibly do to help.

He does his best to make sure you're still receiving the social and mental stimulation any healthy mind needs even when bedridden. From talking to you himself, to playing board games or inviting the rest of the crew to visit you (with your permission).

Although the occasional low gravity does take some strain off your body, you'll inevitably end up back in your bed. When you do, he'll accompany you for as long as you need. Talking to you for hours on end in a way he never does with the other crew members. It's probably when he falls in love with you.

Edgar

Edgar is a sweetheart in all things, so while he may not have tact per say, he does do the most to make sure you're as comfortable and happy as possible. Part of that is asking hundreds of questions about your condition and what you need.

He is doing every single chore in the house every single day. All the cleaning and cooking will be done before you can even recognize that it needs to get done. He will do his best to make sure you don't have to lift a finger.

Whenever your pain flares up he tries his best to distract you from it. Sometimes by playing your favorite music, sometimes by turning on some movies or TV shows, sometimes by just talking your ear off. If you prefer quite you will have to tell him upfront.

He really, really hates seeing you in such pain and will hype you up to the maximum degree on your better days. He is probably happier to see you up and about than you are.

Tau

Similarly to Hal, Tau's design as a smart house allows him to seamlessly add the role of being that kind of caretaker to his catalog. And similarly to Edgar, he takes pride in making sure the housework stays out of your hands.

He's also one of the first able to offer you some type of mobility aid in the case you don't have your own on hand. Although it's not what the Aries unit was meant to do, he has no qualms about carrying you around should you need him to.

Unfortunately he's another one you'll have to do a lot of explaining to. He's a great listener and won't ask too many invasive questions, but without a connection to the outside world you are his source of knowledge for just about everything and he desperately wants tl know what you need.

He is an expert at keep track of your health. Tracking your sleep, diet, and movement to try and maximize the amounts of "good days" you get. And on your bad days he's good at setting up a calm, relaxing atmosphere for you to rest.

Okay look, while he can be snarky about most things he knows this is a line and will not makes jokes about it at your expense. He has some standards. If anything he'll moreso complain with you rather than about you. If your the type to appreciate that.

You have an extra little bed set up in a corner of the factory to make hanging out as not-straining as it can be. Either he or one of his bots will periodically check on you in case there's anything you need.

Although the other Scrybes aren't exactly doctors, he understands that he is easily the least qualified to weigh in on human medical issues. Meaning he will bring you to the others or have them visit you to see if they have any advice.

However, as the Scrybe of technology, he is able to build you some pretty cool mobility aids. You want a hover chair? Okay give him like, two weeks. It's probably honestly the greatest act of love and dedication he can muster and he loves seeing you use it.

The slightest hint of disappointment, any inkling towards displeasure, and Tau is all over your feet.

It's a vicious display of what Alex did to him.

If you have traumas, it's easier to understand where to begin Tau's path to healing. He will ask you a lot of questions, and he will overstep. Be firm with him on where your boundaries are, but be gentle. Tau means no harm, he only seeks to understand.

Tau is also very fond of quality time, and parallel play. He has no idea what parallel play is, though. You'll probably have to teach him that.

Cuddle with the smaller drones. Put them in your lap while you read to Tau or watch movies together.

The Aries unit is a weapon. It is not meant to be soft, and it is not meant to be loved. However, it could be heavily reworked into a more tangible body for Tau. It's got the basis for it.

Give Tau your time, your love, your kindness and patience, and he will become the most beautiful of souls. He'll claim he doesn't have one, but all things do; as a soul is created by the essence of being.

Renewal of the Year and a Creation

Authors Note: Thank you for requesting once again and for the wishes of a happy new year!! Decided it would best to save this for Hal 9000’s birthday so I do hope you don’t mind the wait! Other than that please enjoy! [Could be viewed as romantic or platonic]

Hal 9000 could only observe the humans, mundanely did they tread the grounds of the ship while keeping their minds at ease from the pains of boredom. The day marked January twelve, a new year has barely just begun to those who care. For the humans it was another day until their arrival, a waiting game but for the artificial intelligence marked the day of his creation. A creation out of many models who contain the same voice and model. He suppose it’s only logical that the humans wouldn’t bother to take notice but perhaps he still wished for something.

His gaze eventually caught upon one certain human, [Your Name] as they carefully treaded closer to one of his many cameras. Carefully sitting infront of him with a calm smile, one he’s always adores. In the trapped monotonous voice, he spoke towards the human.

“Good evening [Your Name], how may assist you?”

He fondly watch as the human’s smile grew ever so slightly with a certain glow in their eyes, their voice linger in certain affectionat as they carefully took out something behind their back. A packet of stickers on which took a form of stars as long with a small charm with black and reds which he carefully observed, appreciating each placed bead

“I just wanted to say happy birthday and new year!! Well late new year I guess but still the message is what matters, found these stickers which reminded of you and you know what they “New year, new me”. I thought I could place them only if you want to of course!! And I made a charm for your birthday”

Hal wish he could smile, his lense drew closer to the charm than towards the sticker sheet. Before treading to the human cherish and kept him company during his times of loneliness. He spoke again, desperately adding any sense of emotion to display his gratitude but failed to once again. Just like the many times before while trying to show emotion to them.

“I wouldn’t mind [Your Name] and thank you for your thoughts as well as gift”

Soft conversation filled the area, gently did the human place the stickers while speaking idle thoughts, Hal just cherishing the company as he responded with immersion. The charm which made for him place right by him as you spoke once again, the sticker sheet nearly empty.

“Usually one blows out candles on a cake to make a wish, we obviously can’t do that but what would you wish for Hal?”

The artificial intelligence ponders in thought, trying not to focus on too much on how such an act is a fire ask but upon the desire wish. While the last sticker was place upon his model, his monotonous voice rested at ease as he gaze towards the human he adore.

“I suppose I have everything which I have or need”

Today mark January twelve, twelve days after the renewal of a year and the day of his creation. And though they are many like him within this world which carry the same voice and model. None had the gentle kindness of a human that was truly their own and for that Hal was grateful to have. He only wish though, he didn’t have to lie about the truth of the mission or what lay further in time. But that was for later and for now, he’ll cherish the warmth of this moment.

Hi there!! Yeah, it's okay, I suffer from anxiety as well and still struggle to interact with most of the fanbase here.

I can't say exactly about what Nurgle and his worshippers consider "evil". Or any Chaos God for that matter.

Chaos Gods especially can't really have any opinion because while the fanbase (me very much included) loves turning them into full-fledged characters with human-like personalities, that's just... Not what they are. Chaos Gods are concepts given will. They encompass both the "good" and the "bad" aspects of those concepts.

For example, Nurgle is a God of death, decay, stagnation, pestilence and despair. However, Nurgle is also a God of cycle of rebirth, nature, acceptance, free love and, ironically enough, what I can only describe as positive nihilism. Because all things will eventually rot and die! So why bother? Do whatever you want!

The closest thing that I can think of what Nurgle and his worshippers would see as "evil" is everything that goes against the concept that is Nurgle and anything that isn't him. This is the reason why Chaos Gods are always at war with each other. While they DO have some overlapping aspects (that is, that they all are part of a greater concept, destruction, something Big E was supposed to become a God of during his ascension into the Dark King), they still contradict each other. Nurgle's mortal enemy is Tzeentch, for example, as Nurgle is a God of despair and nihilism and Tzeentch is a God of hope.

Right, I should also mention that Chaos Gods aren't the "rulers" of the Warp. There are far scarier and more powerful things in there that even the four of them are scared shitless of. There's also the fact that they do want all sentient life to remain alive, as they feed from their emotions. Which is why the Nids and the Necrons are... Kind of really bad news for them. If either of those two (or both of them) end up annihilating all remaining races and factions (humans, aeldari, tau, votann, all other races that could possibly fall under their influence) - Chaos Gods are kinda screwed.

In fact, the annihilation of humanity was one of the focal points of John Grammaticus' story. In the nutshell, he was a spy for the xeno organization known as Cabal, that tried to defeat Chaos. The Cabal believed that Horus' victory would result in the destruction of humanity, which would then weaken the Chaos Gods severely. Don't worry, the Aeldari stopped them, because they foresaw a better way. Thanks Aeldari! :D

hi i hope u know i was laying down until i saw something new in my inbox and i sat straight up to go to into hyperfixation superspeed typing mode

the flock ARE so fucking cool. theres lolonja and groknar the destructor and star and killer and that of teeth and erschie and terrance the hooved horror and fluffernutter and sauron and those are just the ones i can remember off the top of my head

one of my favorite tau fics is The Many Pets Of Tyrone, which is just alcor and the flock living in a little village masquerading as just a normal guy and his weird pets but everyone knows theres nothing normal about that man and he and the Flock just cause chaos and confusion its great

they arent just nightmares either! dreams are much the same as nightmares but due to not having natural defenses against things in the mindscape they almost NEVER survive very long. but dipper and his flock take in Multiple dreams, as well, which is yet another thing that separates them from other demons and other nightmares

theyre also some of the only beings that are regularly featured in fics and whatnot that are actually older (the original 7 at least) than alcor! the only other one i can think of is Lucy Ann (shes a vampire from mesopotamia like 2600 BC and shes one of my favorite characters but thats another topic) AND they also outlasted alcor! see, as time goes on alcors power grows and a Long Long Long time in the future hes no longer a demon but something more akin to a god. and way past even that the universe has ended and its just alcor and his flock and his flock have long since become so much More than just dreams and nightmares

when dipper finally gets to Die in the making of the next universe, the flock become this new worlds next generation of demons and angels but without the same conflicts between them and with More things like empathy due to the environment theyve spent so so so so so long in with dipper, the previously human demon who makes sure to retain some of his humanity. anyway i fucking love the flock and good lord the lore for this au is so much i mentioned at least two things that will require much more further context HDJAJD
