Why Video Production Company should be a part of Your Business
There are several reasons why a video production company can be important for a business. Some of the key benefits of working with a video production company include:
1. Expertise and resources: Video production companies have a team of professionals with the skills and expertise to create high-quality video content. They also have access to the necessary resources and equipment to produce professional-grade videos.
2. Efficiency: By working with a video production company, businesses can save time and effort by outsourcing the production process. This allows businesses to focus on their core competencies, rather than trying to handle video production in-house.
3. Quality: A video production company can help businesses create professional, high-quality videos that effectively communicate their message and brand. This is especially important for businesses that are looking to create content for marketing or promotional purposes.
4. Cost-effectiveness: While creating video content can be expensive, working with a video production company can often be more cost-effective than trying to handle the production process in-house. Video production companies often have economies of scale and can offer competitive pricing.
5. Flexibility: A video production company can work with businesses to create custom videos that meet their specific needs and goals. This can be especially useful for businesses that have unique or complex video needs.
Overall, a video production company can be an important partner for businesses looking to create professional, high-quality video content. By working with a video production company, businesses can benefit from the expertise, resources, and efficiency of a team of professionals, and create video content that helps them achieve their marketing and business goals.

I've never made any connections between Worm and the Captain America mythos before. Spill some ink?
Okay, so from a purely aesthetic perspective, the gimme is Miss Militia. She's the most obvious "Captain Patriotic" in the roster, she has the power of GUN, she's the only one who actively buys into the mythology of America specifically. She's a Kurdish woman occupying an aesthetic niche generally held by a rugged squinty white guy. She's an output of the melting pot narrative. She's sort of a rendering of what a grounded superhero who somehow became very aesthetically into America might look like. Not in the craven marketing-driven way of Homelander or Comedian, not in the jingoistic maniac way of USAgent or Peacemaker. She buys it in the broadly left-liberal (USamerican connotation of that term) safe, friendly, reclamative way. Why, what a great rehabilitation of the archetype!
She's also deeply, deeply afraid of rocking the boat. She's got a deepseated childhood trauma related to the bad things that happen when she puts herself in a leadership role. She goes along to get along. When she's proactive, it's usually to point a gun at Tattletale to stop her from upsetting the status quo. She sits through a lot of situations where Steve Rogers, as commonly modeled, would probably plant himself like a tree by the river of truth and go, "Hey, this is fucked up." She more or less capitulates to Undersider domination of the city, in a way that predisposes us to think of her as a voice of reason after all these total nuts that Skitter's been up against- but would Taylor "to relinquish control is a form of ego death" Hebert really be willing to leave someone in charge of the local Protectorate branch who she thought couldn't be corralled? She looks like a beacon, but doesn't- indeed, probably can't- ever truly behave like one. I mean, you can debate the on-the-spot morality of any given one of her judgement calls, that's actually one of the less exhausting Worm Morality Debates to have- but in aggregate, a person in American flag garb who actually meaningfully criticizes the paramilitary organization they're part of is not gonna survive long in that role!
So again, she's the gimme from an aesthetic standpoint. But what I don't really see a lot of discussion of is how Cauldron plays into the riff.
Captain America is institutional, but in a comically morally uncomplicated way. The serum was originally mana from heaven, granted to a living saint, conveniently divorced from any nitty-gritty sausage-making process and even-more conveniently divorced from the horrible consequences of giving the, uh, the U.S government a replicable super soldier process. And in fairness to Captain America, this is 100 percent something the overall mythos eventually patched to my satisfaction; the sausage-making process eventually revealed as prototypical government fuckery driven by human experimentation on black servicemen, the overall Marvel Setting littered with failed attempts by the U.S. Government to recreate that golden goose so they can have their fun new jackboots. (In Ultimate Marvel, this is how almost all contemporary superhumans were created, and this is a state of affairs with a body count in the millions or billions.)
Cauldron draws you in with the same noble rhetoric about greater goods, the same one-off proprietary irreplicable formula- but you don't get the luxury afterwards of representing nothing but the dream. You aren't partnering up with a plucky crank scientist with a heart of gold. You're selling your soul to an organization with an agenda. The narrative makes no bones about the fact that everything you do is fundamentally tainted by the fact you opted into an end product created through torture, kidnapping and human experimentation. You don't get to pull a Kamen Rider by going rogue or opting out or making good use of the fruit of the poisoned tree; you are owned, and everything you do has this Damocles sword hanging over your head- when are the people who bankrolled this going to come to collect?
So that's the question of "who would willingly dress like that" covered, and the question of who creates a serum like that. What about the question of who takes a serum like that? I'd argue that Eidolon is the examination of that. Pre-Cauldron David reads to me like pre-serum Steve Rogers viewed through a significantly bleaker lens. They're both sickly kids desperate to serve, rocketed to the pinnacle of human capability by an experimental procedure. But for Steve Rogers, the crisis was that he had a specific vision of the world and was frustrated by his inability to carry it out. Before the serum he picked fights over what was right and wrong and got his ass handed to him; afterwards he picked those same fights and just started winning instead. The serum neatly solved a problem he had, and to the extent that his mindset is influenced by his pre-serum experiences, it's generally constructive; a desire to protect the weak, help the helpless, an appreciation for people who stand up for what's right even when they're clearly gonna get pancaked for their trouble. So ultimately there's no dark side, downside, or underlying neurosis ascribed to his initial impulse to take that serum.
But with David, it's not a tragic case of the spirit being willing but the flesh being weak. He isn't a preternaturally-noble soul, out to represent the best elements of the American ideal- he kind of represents the inverse, a guy who's been failed at every level while utterly convinced that he's the problem. He's actively suicidal because he's a wheelchair-bound epileptic in an economically-depressed socially-backwards rural town in the 1980s, and he's spent his 18 years of life internalizing the idea that he's worse than useless unless he can somehow find a way provide value to something larger than himself. Doctor Mother finds him in the aftermath of a suicide attempt spurred by his rejection from the army- and he didn't even want to join the army specifically, necessarily, he just needed his situation to be literally anything else, and he took what he thought he could get. And then he finds himself in a position to become a superhero, so he does that, molds himself into that, subordinates himself to that, builds his entire sense of self and values around the value he can provide in that role. No grand design or sacred principles carried over through the metamorphosis. Just relief at finally, finally having something that looks like an answer to the question of what he's supposed to do.
And you know, you know that if Steve Rogers was facing down the barrel of being depowered, he'd smile and nod, he'd Cincinnatus that shit. It's happened before. But for David, the emotional trauma and self-worth issues that caused him to roll the dice on a Steve-Rogers treatment never really went away. When would it? He's been Providing Value as a ten-ton Hammer Against Evil for thirty years. No family, no social life. Certainly, no incentive on his handler's part to lance his Atlas complex. So he barrels towards atrocity in the name of remaining useful. Admittedly, this is where the comparison breaks down in a significant way; Captain America is much more of a symbol than he is an irreplicable powerhouse, so it's not catastrophic if he's taken off the board. Eidolon is so unbelievably powerful that his myopia and self-centeredness actually do align with a real problem everyone else is gonna have if he loses his powers. But in terms of the starting points- I think that Steve Rogers embodies the myth about why you'd want to join the army that badly. Eidolon is, I think, much more closely modelling why you'd actually want to join the army that badly.

Hive 5.1
I just read this entire arc in like an hour, let's fucking go
Wildbow really fucking knows how to set up a location. I know the exact kind of bar this is, I've experienced enough of them in my life at this point, I can fucking smell the spilled beer smell that never leaves
I'm going to take this as my cue to start calling Taylor Skitter when appropriate, now that she's heard the name herself
Also maybe it's just me but I almost feel like Alec and Rachel meeting Danny would at least make things work faster, if not necessarily better
Fucking Nazis. Go back to whatever bunker you crawled out of (and then we can get some Soviets in to do what they do to Nazi bunkers)
Not sure how I feel about the fucking Nazis having the biggest cape game in town, if they're hiring on people from out of town and even out of state it makes some degree of sense, but also just, y'know. Rotten fucking vibes.
Fucking Coil. I know enough of your deal to know I want you the fuck outta here. Scrawny bastard.
Faultline's crew seems cool. Interesting that she's got two people with visible mutations and matching tattoos. Pretty sure I know what's going on there but I'll wait to find out the whole of it.
Aww, Tattletale has a rival, good for her
Also lmao Alec
I looked back through my notes and Squealer was the only one who's come up before, but Skidmark is the one who's taking point as leader it seems like. These are the Merchants? Did they form up during the events of the past week, or did they somehow operate under the Empire's radar for however long? This feels off.
...Also what kind of gang leader gets high on their own supply? Isn't that like crime management number one, don't get yourself hooked on the product bc you need to be sober while making decisions? What the hell
Skipping the argument between Skidmark and Kaiser bc there's no joy to be found there
Fucking random, but okay, sure, definitely no ulterior motives going on here right
So here we have the "unwritten rules" on display, of course. The ABB are on the warpath, and even if they burn out they're gonna make things a nightmare for everyone in the meantime, and nobody wants that so everybody's willing to grit their teeth and deal with the ones who aren't playing the game anymore.
More pageantry, more emphasis on the role of image in this subculture
And, of course, almost everybody's pageantry is just there to hide the ulterior motives at play. The game isn't nearly as honor-bound as people think it is, it's just a matter of being subtle or getting caught.
Current Thoughts
I hate like almost half of the people in this building lmao, fucking Nazis and Coil's bony ass as a "bonus"
Still bugged by whatever the hell is going on with the Merchants, I feel like they sprang out of the streets of Brockton fully formed and here to provide unfortunate stereotypes about drug users. I can't imagine this was just to pad out the roster, the Travelers seemed to do well enough for that, but hell if I can figure out what else is going on there.

the thing about me is that I will absolutely shamelessly give my favorite little minor character who has cubed me a disproportionate amount of narrative significance than he actually has, BUT THE PROBLEM WITH THAT is that he (Clockblocker) actually honestly and truly DOES have one of the biggest impacts of any character.
like i know they were not giving out medals for the sake of preventing infighting after the leviathan fight, but Clockblocker damn well deserves one because quite literally everyone would have died had he not frozen the Titanic Waterbending Godzilla in time for several whole minutes allowing the remaining capes critical time to re-strategize and hold out for Scion. Additionally. everyone Also would have died had Skitter not been able to utilize his power to slice That Thang (Echidna) in twain. Two (2) S-Class threats within months of each other and he turned the tides on both of them.
it’s like. it’s honestly a testament to what Tattletale was saying about how a lot of parahumans never really get the chance to understand the full extent of their powers because they’re never under the right circumstances to do so. because if you think about it purely in situations like the bank heist or party crash early on in the book, Clockblocker’s power really isn’t anything to write home about. and if they lived in a reality where things like that were the biggest threats around he would probably stay that way!
but they don’t live in that reality. they DO live in a world with towering kaiju endbringers that threaten the planet every three months and they DO live in a world where monstrous parahuman accidents like echidna are likely to pop up, and it’s because of this product of circumstance that you can make a legitimate case for Clockblocker having one of the strongest powers in terms of utility. he lives in a reality where his niche is allowed to shine!
and it’s this kinda thinking that makes the fact that he is—at the end of the day—Just A Minor Character, so incredibly compelling because it further illustrates the idea that This Could Be Anybody. under the right circumstances, any parahuman could find their otherwise mid-level power suddenly become the most pivotal role in a survival setting. or the most dangerous! it opens up the floor to a wealth of possibilities.
like say what you want, and i do concede that of course my darling boy Dennis doesn’t hold the same narrative significance that any of the major characters do, but when you look at his role in the story from this perspective, He Really Is Kind Of A Big Deal.
#scarf.txt#I HAVE NOT FINISHED WORM PLEASE BE KIND TO ME IN THE NOTES. as in i am on arc 21 pls no spoilers :(#continuing my dennisposting by detailing one of the major reasons he lives in my brain#leviathan fight was the first time I started waxing poetic abt him in discord liveblog and that was before I even knew his personality#the guy’s power utility is just frankly quite Nuts!#and i love him dearly#wormblr#parahumans#clockblocker#worm spoilers

If you don't mind me asking, what exactly is your job and degree? Getting into the field of entomology is a bit intimidating and I would appreciate any any advice.
i tend to be a little cagey about my exact job since my field is quite small and there's enough people following me that the chances of someone deciding to take offense to something and Get Weird at me are nonzero, but that's probably excessive paranoia on my part. then again beloved internet bug person mossworm got recently sacked from their job on account of weirdo online tattletales so maybe not.
anyway i can say i work for a government agency identifying insects from a pretty wide geographic range, looking for new exotic species and potential pests. during the busy season i spend most of my time processing huge volumes of raw trap samples, pulling out insect groups of interest, mostly woodboring beetles, for myself or one of the other entomologists in the lab to identify to species. during the off-season when we're not getting tons of new samples i get a little more free reign to work on other projects of my own design, so for example lately i've been working on my bee identification skills and am slowly putting together a large reference collection of native bee species that i reserved from years of insect trap by-catch.
i got my PHD in entomology without a specific career in mind but knowing i wanted to do something that wasn't just about developing products and methods for killing unwanted insects which seem like the main entomology jobs anyone wants to fund anymore. in a perfect world i'd love a entomological curation job in a museum but those positions are rare and in-demand and i didn't have the mental fortitude to do the kind of academic work in grad school to make me competitive for that field. but then i went ahead and got a job that lets me do some curatorial work anyway so i sort of won? my position is still at least on paper about controlling unwanted insects but in practice i rarely have to do much of that work, at least directly.
i get semi-regular requests for advice on getting a job as an entomologist and i often feel like i don't have much constructive or encouraging to say, since it's hard not to feel like it's one of the many disciplines being squeezed to death by the iron hand of capitalism. more and more positions in the government and academia are being cut or downsized by bureaucrats who don't see the benefit of taxonomy or any other research that doesn't directly result in their department or some corporation making a bunch of money. whole subdisciplines are dying out as the elder entomologists who were the sole sources of knowledge about them die off. there are entire groups of insects and other arthropods that are effectively impossible to identify to species now because the one taxonomic wizard who specialized on them died without having anyone to pass that knowledge onto. Donald Bright, the only living expert on bark beetles in the preposterously diverse and morphologically subtle genus Pityophthorus, died a few months ago without an heir that i'm aware of.
also most of the taxonomic research that is being done these days is all molecular systematics which i have Opinions about but this post is way too long already.
sorry. that was a bummer. i guess i'm proof that it is still possible to get a job like this today, even if i can't help but feel like it was mostly luck that got me here. plenty of the others in my academic cohort (that didn't burn out from grad school stress) also went on to get degrees in their field of study or at least adjacent to them. and again there are still plenty of entomology jobs in other sectors like agriculture, public health, nonprofits and NGOs and stuff like that. you also don't necessarily need an advanced degree in entomology for a lot of these, and a lot of people in the entomology field came in sideways through related disciplines like ecology, evolutionary science, general biology, or even things like viticulture and forensic science to name a couple examples from my own cohort.
looking back, that was mostly a lot of vague grumbling and not much concrete advice, but to be fair asking for "any advice" is a hard prompt to go off of so i tend to default to the kinds of grim thoughts that are usually rattling round in my brain. i may also be in an especially dour mood at the moment because even though my job isn't to my knowledge at any risk of being eliminated, my lab is currently being passively if not outright antagonized by higher-level bureaucrats for genuinely mysterious reasons and i will not elaborate on that any further for reasons i mentioned at the beginning. anyway! i am always happy to at least attempt to give more specific advice but i can't promise there won't be at least a little grumbling in that as well.

Just A Pawn-Luke Hughes
Chapter Three
Summary: Once again Luke’s roommates express worry over his behavior, Luke shuts them down it isn’t until Luke gets a surprised visit that things start to turn around.
Warnings: mention of drug use, overprotective brothers, mentions of being used, implied sexual content
—————————————————
Luke sat on the couch in the living room of his shared house, his roommates and teammates surrounding him. Dylan Duke, Mackie Samoskevich, Ethan Edwards, and Mark Estapa exchanged concerned looks as they glanced at Luke.
A few weeks had passed since they expressed concern over him and Remi, and instead of listening to them Luke had only continued seeing Remi, and they continued growing increasingly worried about his reckless behavior.
Dylan cleared his throat, breaking the tense silence in the room. "Luke," he began cautiously, "we need to talk." Luke looked up from his phone, annoyance etched on his face.
“What now? Can't you guys just leave me alone?"
Mackie let out a sigh and took a seat next to Luke. "Look, man, we're your friends. We're just worried about you."
Ethan chimed in, his voice laced with concern. "We know you came home high last night, Luke. That's not like you."
Luke's eyes narrowed as he crossed his arms defensively. "So what? What's it to you guys?"
Mark spoke up softly. "We care about you, Luke. We don't want to see you go down a destructive path." Luke just rolled his eyes.
Knowing this conversation was going nowhere productive Dylan pulled out his phone and dialed Quinn's number.
After a brief conversation with Quinn over the phone, he hung up and looked at Luke. "I just called Quinn," Dylan said. "He wants to talk to you."
Luke scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Oh great! More of Quinn's infamous lectures! How exciting!" Just then, Luke's phone buzzed with a new text message from Quinn: 'We gotta talk, pick up the phone.' Luke clenched his jaw tightly as he read the text message aloud mockingly to his friends.
Dylan shook his head disapprovingly. "You can't keep avoiding this conversation with Quinn forever, Luke. He's just trying to help."
Luke's frustration boiled over as he stood up abruptly. "You guys are just a bunch of tattletales! I don't need any help, not from you and especially not from Quinn!" Luke lashed out, before storming upstairs.
———————————————————————
Over the next few days Luke's attitude had not changed. Luke still refused to listen to his friends, which resulted in him doing the exact same things he had done before.
One night, Luke found himself in his room, with Remi lounged on his bed, blowing smoke rings into the air. They laughed, talked and kissed, getting lost in their own little world.
Meanwhile, outside Luke's room, Dylan Duke noticed Quinn's arrival. Quinn, being in town for a game against the Detroit Red Wings, had taken this opportunity to confront Luke face-to-face.
Dylan opened the front door for Quinn and quietly gestured towards the staircase which led to Luke's room.
Quinn walked up the staircase and pushed open Luke's door without hesitation. His eyes widened as he took in the sight before him - Luke and Remi, tangled together on the bed in various stages of undress.
“Quinn!" Luke jumped up, scrambling to grab his shirt from the floor. Remi flushed red and attempted to cover herself with a blanket. Quinn's face turned a shade darker as he tried to process what he had just witnessed.
“What is going on here?" he finally managed to say through gritted teeth.
Luke stammered for an explanation. "I...uh...we were just..."
“I can see what you were doing," Quinn interrupted with a mix of anger and disappointment.
Quinn shook his head and turned to the door, “Get dressed and get out of here. Luke we gotta talk” Quinn said, walking out the door to give the two teenagers some privacy.
A few moments later, Luke and Remi were fully dressed and appeared in the hallway. Quinn stood there with his arms crossed, looking at the two of them with a scowl on his face. Remi said a quick goodbye to Luke and walked down the stairs.
“So Luke, how you been?” Quinn asked sarcasm and anger mixed into his voice.
Luke flushed as he looked at Quinn, not sure what to say, instead staying silent.
“Don’t you have a game or something tonight?” Luke finally said.
Quinn shook his head, “It’s tomorrow night.”
Luke let out a sigh and an eye roll before walking back into his room, leaving the door open expecting Quinn to follow him. Quinn did, but stood at the door for a while before walking in, he noticed the bong sitting on Luke’s desk and a small baggie with a substance in it.
Quinn let a little smirk of disbelief come across his face, “You stop getting drug tested is that it? Or did you just think you could get away with it?” Luke looked down at the floor, before making eye contact again with Quinn.
“Come on I know you’ve smoked before” Luke accuses
“Once or twice and never during a season.” Quinn rebutled. Quinn stepped in the room, and closed the door behind him, before pulling out Luke’s desk chair and taking a seat.
“So let’s talk,” Quinn says. Luke lets out a loud dramatic groan causing Quinn to chuckle.
“you’ve been avoiding it for a while now. You’re dodging both me and Jack's calls and you haven't texted me in a while. Lukey you’re my little brother and I care about you alright” Quinn begins anger no longer lingering in his voice but rather genuine concern.
“I understand you’re growing up and Jack and I we’re overprotective of you, but please don’t go wrecking your life just to prove a point. We’ll work on the overprotective stuff if you quit this crap. No more weed, no more skipping class, get back on track Luke. Otherwise we can just keep going round and round until you get it through your thick head and who knows how bad things would have to get first” Quinn continues.
Luke looks at his brother, and for the first time in a month he doesn't feel angry, instead he starts to feel a pang of guilt washing over him, the weed, skipping class, slacking off in practice all of it made him feel embarrassed.
He knows that’s not who he is and if he’s being honest he didn’t even like the weed that much.
The only thing he didn’t feel a sense of regret for was meeting Remi, despite all of the bad things that came with it, a lot of good things came with it as well.
Remi didn’t see Luke as Jack and Quinn Hughes' brother, or a 4th overall pick with so much to prove, Remi saw Luke as Luke, even without the drugs and the sneaking around the moments they had together, showed Luke a sense of adventure he never experienced before, she showed him a new kind of freedom.
Luke takes a deep breath and looks at Quinn. “You’re right, Quinn I fucked up and bad I gotta get myself back on track, and I will no more weed, no more skipping class, I’m gonna talk to my coach, I gotta apologize to my friends and and you and Jack. I’m sorry,” Luke says sincerely.
A feeling of relief washes over Quinn. Quinn stands up and walks over to Luke, putting his arms around him and gives Luke a hug, and says “About time,” Luke let out a slight laugh.
Before needing to head back to his hotel Quinn offered to take Luke out to lunch, Luke happily accepted. For the first time in a month Luke felt like he was back in control of his life.
———————————————————————
Over the next week Luke began to do damage control. He had stopped smoking completely, starting getting back into a routine, going to every one of his classes, apologized to his teammates, and coaches and made up with Jack and Quinn.
The only habit Luke has not yet managed to kick was his relationship with Remi. He still hung out with her a lot, although Luke was trying to be more cautious about when and how they spend time together.
Luke was not smoking with her anymore nor skipping class to see her.
It was almost like a healthy relationship.
Until later in the week after a long day of classes, when Luke was relaxing and got a facetime request from Jack and Quinn. Luke happily answered the call on his laptop propping it up on a pillow so his brothers could see him.
“Hey guys!” Luke greeted his brothers
"Hey little bro," Jack said with a grin.
Jack and Quinn talked to Luke about how proud they were of him for getting his life back on track.
Luke offered a small smile, grateful for their support. "Thanks guys. It means a lot coming from both of you."
Jack's grin turned into a frown as he continued, more serious this time. "But we still have one question: what are you doing with Remi? Why are you still with her?"
Luke's smile faltered as he tried to find words that wouldn't betray too much about his true feelings for Remi. "I mean...at first...yeah, I was just using her to piss you guys off," Luke admitted hesitantly.
Unknown to him, Remi had quietly made her way up the stairs and stood just outside his room, listening intently to every word.
Hearing what Luke said she couldn’t help but feel used.
Without a second thought, Remi hastily turned around and rushed down the stairs and out the front door.
Luke heard the sound of a slamming door echoing through the house.
He furrowed his brows in confusion and excused himself, thinking he was alone in the house.
He rushed downstairs, hoping to find out what had caused the commotion.
As he reached the bottom of the stairs, his eyes met Mackie Samoskevich's concerned gaze.
“Hey Mackie," Luke said quickly. "What was that noise?"
Mackie looked up from his phone and shrugged. "Remi came to surprise you, man. She looked pretty upset when she ran out."
Luke's heart sank as realization dawned on him. Remi must have heard everything he said about her.
Without hesitation, Luke bolted out of the house and onto the porch, scanning the surroundings for any sign of Remi.
His heart pounded in anticipation as he spotted her about to cross the street in a hurry. "Remi!" he called out desperately, running after her with determination in his eyes.
She turned slightly but didn't stop walking.
“Remi! Stop please!” Luke begged rushing towards her
Luke caught up with her just before she made it across the street and grabbed her arm gently to make her face him.
"Remi, please listen to me," Luke pleaded, his voice filled with regret.
Tears welled up in Remi's eyes as she looked at him with hurt and anger cutting through her voice. “You used me!”
“Remi-” Luke started in an attempt to apologize, but she cut him off.
“You used me as a decoy to piss off your brothers! Well, Congratulations. You succeeded,” Remi snapped,
"No...it wasn't like that," Luke insisted urgently, his grip tightening slightly on her arm.
But Remi jerked her arm away and backed up, shaking her head. "No, I’m done. I can’t believe you used me as some sorta fucking pawn. Don’t ever speak to me again"
A/N- I hope you enjoyed this series! I promise not all of my stories have overprotective brothers and sad endings even if my last two did lol. Feel free to reach out and give me some feedback please be nice though or ask me any questions! <3

HII GM!!! i hope u had good worming time ehehe :3 anyway. now that you've spent some time w/ the undersiders & met a lot of the brockton bay wards & some of new wave + the prt!! i wanna hear ur thoughts on them in general + the world so far if u have any!! & also ur thoughts on like.... how powers happen & brian and taylor's origin stories etc if thats also something you've been thinking abt!! eyes emoji eyes emoji..
i am having SO much fun w worm. physically making myself put down my phone and walk away so i stop reading and do the productive things i promised myself i would do this weekend.
I AM SO. WARY. OF THE WARDS. I DONT TRUST THEM. its rlly cool 2 me that they all have powers that i myself would consider like. Bad or Scary. the emotion manipulation thing, the literal warping of time and space etc those are all things that i would be like. this feels overpowered to the point that i almost expect it more from a villain character to build dramatic tension. which. i guess in the meta sense still works bc theyre being set up as antagonists rn but you know what i mean!!!!!
i fully think we've reached the point where taylor is in way too deep to the extent that changing anything now would end horribly bad for her on both sides. shes still holding onto this thought that shes gonna have this dramatic reveal where she puts the villains in jail and the heroes welcome her with open arms. but after that conversation with armsmaster thats just !!!!!!! not going to fucking happen!!! it doesnt work like that!!! also there keep being these little sidebars and moments where she admits to herself that shes excited about villain work or like..a chance to hang out with her new friends. girl you are not going to join the protectorate i can see right thriugh your dumbass.
<< side note on all of this i have a little bit of a theory for this. i think tattletale probably. knows. she joined with the intention of betraying them eventually. im still sort offff kind of unclear as to the extent of lisas powers and how they work but at this point i dont know how she couldve possibly missed that huge elephant other than the possibility that she is intentionally ignoring it.
ANYWAY. IVE STRAYED FROM YOUR ACTUAL QUESTION IM SORRY I JUST LIKE THE UNDERSIDERS A LOT. i have a lot of thoughts on the meta of the story and the role reversal of "villains good heroes bad" that i know some cape media does sometimes and im not exactly sure jf thats what worm is going for but i AM AWARE OF IT . and i think that is playing a little bit of why i am biased like this. but this is not to say i dont like the heroes i wan 2 know everything about them. however i dont trust them. SUPER interested in what Amy's got going on w her dad and the fact that she fucking turned off taylors powers????? despite saying she wasnt gonna mess with brain stuff?????? i think amys gonna get rlly fucked up about something pretty soon. i could see her snapping and turning into some crazy supervillain esp in the last interlude where she talked about how much pressure she and others put on herself w healing everything and everyone.
uhhhhhhh what else. hey powers coming from trauma is pretty fucked up huh!!!!! u know whats rlly funny is like. i sort of expected it to be somethinf bad like that but i was also wasnt expecting the angle that like. the powers are unrelated to whatever the event was??????? like im sure u could find ways to connect each of their powers to their trigger event but its not ljke. obvious ?? i guess?? like taylor wasnt bittem by a radioactive bug that gave her bug controlling powers u know??? im rlly rlly excited 2 learn abt more characters trogger events just to like. expand the data pool and see if yhere is a correlation between the power that they get and the event that happens. or if the power theyre born with the potential of having is just set in stone or whatever. does that makr ANY sense
#im kind of losing the llot a littls as i type. however just know i am thinking about it SO MUCH#spinning the entirety of worm in my microwave brain#asks#friends!!!#intertexts#reaction time

what are your precanon lisa and coil thoughts :)
I literally don’t have coherent thoughts because every time I try to I get consumed by The Pit. Skin-crawlingly bad vibes! I need more of the scoop on Lisa to give an actual analysis of the situation, but the combination of:
Coil going to great lengths to coerce her, as a young teenager, into working with him;
Referring to the employment offer as “buying her services;”
Isolating her from the rest of her team in all their communications;
Referring to her with possessive language in his inner monologue, “his Tattletale;”
All the other Lisa/Dinah parallels;
Is — I mean, the allegory is there. They call him sexual exploitation man on account of the sexual exploitation, etc. I don’t think “Coil sexually abused Lisa and this is implied/“coded” in the text” is a particularly productive reading — the blurry probability-space is doing exactly what it’s meant to be doing. I do think working directly under Coil is an unquestionably damaging place to be. Especially as a teenager. Especially as a teenager whose power and identity (same thing) hinge on her ability to know her way out of danger. How do you reckon with your choice to walk into the jaws of the snake? It’s murky and troubling and hopelessly addictive to chew on (pun unintended).

multiples of 5 for bran + ellis, minah + her sis, & vesper + everybody!
chu ily // sibling relationship asks
5. Which one of them said “Don’t tell Mom and Dad!” and which one always did?
BRAN & ELLIS — Bran and Ellis have a 12 year age gap, so they didn't really have a tattletale relationship (especially because their mom died when Ellis was 3 and their dad faded away with her—to be honest, Bran kind of raised him). If anything, Ellis was running to tell on someone else to Bran. Of the two of them, though, he was the tattletale. MINAH & SIS — Minah was usually the one trying to talk her sister out of telling their parents when she broke the rules, but was also the one to complain when her sister did something. She's a few years older (I think I said 5 years?) and was very much used to being The Only Child before her little sister was born. VESPER & CO. — Vesper was the one pleading with the twins not to tell their parents (even when it was just minor things) and Roxie and Rosie were always the ones to tattle (no matter how minor the thing). It wasn't only Vesper—everyone got a fair share of the twins being sanctimonious little shits—but she got the worst of it. They were also the ones to tell their parents about Vesper's magic, so. Yeah.
10. How often they fight now and about what?
BRAN & ELLIS — Bran hasn't seen Ellis in nearly a decade, so technically they don't fight about anything. That said, right before the campaign ended, Bran learned that he'd gone sailing looking for her, and there absolutely would have been a fight about him being out on his own—she'd have been furious with him in the sort of way where she was half angry at herself and putting it on him (leaving him behind is the one thing in her life she most regrets, but she couldn't possibly have taken him with her). MINAH & SIS — Minah and her sister don't fight because they haven't seen or spoken to each other in years. VESPER & CO. — Vesper and Kit (eldest brother and current Bann Trevelyan) always got along easiest of everyone when they were kids, and these days when they fight it tends to be because they've forgotten that they're not still those kids—they've missed large chunks of each other's lives and there are some weird and complicated feelings in there that they still need to work through. Vesper and Helene rarely fight, and when they do it's about minor things (Helene took to the noble lady role the best out of all of them, whereas Vesper has limited patience for it, which tends to be the cause of any conflict they may run into). Roxie died at the Conclave so no fights there. Consequently, however, Rosie and Vesper have the worst fights—they have the most bad blood between them, and Roxie dying when Vesper stepped out of the ashes as the Herald of Andraste didn't help. They can't be in the same room without someone to run interference. Vesper and Jonah don't fight, but that's because Jonah doesn't fight with anyone—he's got non-confrontationalism down to a science. On the rare occasion where everyone is getting on Vesper's nerves, Jonah's the one person she can sit with no matter what. When she can get him away from his books enough for it, they have long (oddly productive) conversations about faith and obligation and history and whatnot. When you get them all together, Rosie tends to feel ganged-up on, which leads to Helene going out of her way to take her side/smooth things over, and Kit tries to remain impartial but he's also usually taking Vesper's side, and Jonah stays out of it, so y'know. Typical complicated sibling shit.
15. Which of their parents each is most like?
BRAN & ELLIS — They both take after their mother in their looks and their stubbornness and their tendency to yearn for adventure. Bran actually has a little more of their father's pragmatism, and Ellis is a little moodier. MINAH & SIS — In temperament, Minah takes after their dad—probably less so now, but particularly growing up, when she wanted to be just like him. Her sister definitely takes after their mom. VESPER & CO. — Most of the Trevelyan children take after their mother (Valerie Hirondelle), who was known to be shrewd and savvy and also distant at times. Jonah is most like her, having inherited her tendency to get lost in her own world when it comes to their shared love of history and also her poor constitution. The twins have more of their father's coldness, his devoutness, and his fear of the unknown. Vesper has her father's flashfire temper (same as Rosie—one of the reasons they get along so badly). Looks-wise, the twins, Jonah, and Vesper all inherited their father's red hair and Marcher complexion, whereas Kit and Helene have their mother's dark hair. They all have the same grey Trevelyan eyes.
#sorry this got long some idiot (me) gave vesper five (5) siblings#this was fun tho ty!!!!!#branwen#minah#vesper#memery

Hey, I heard a rumor that tattletale said your hair looked stupid, what are your thoughts on the matter?
I'd ask what rumor mills are you connected to that tell you what B-tier supervillains gossip about, but I'm pretty sure you're just making shit up, because I have never even seen Tattletale.
And if by some chance you are Tattletale and are insulting my hair: Not everyone has underworld connections to get their preferred hair products into Brockton Bay. Some of us are stuck with old bottles of dish soap.

Cute blonde that's been doinking around my skull all week, Judah
The Reverend Judah Bogatzki is Presbyterian minister living in Apple Valley, Minnesota. He's a tall, frail man with a mild case of RBF, very long blonde hair, green eyes and a pallid complexion. He's also an adept healer and believes magic's most practical application to be healing, be it people or the earth itself. Despite the good he does, he's found himself in conflict with more conservative groups over his practices, with some calling them satanic and an affront to God. Nevertheless, Judah is always working towards a better world and puts the needs of others above his own, often to his detriment. In addition to healing the sick and injured, he organizes fundraisers and drives, distributes food, clothing, hygiene products and other items to those in need and visits a number of different places in the community, from schools to hospitals to nursing homes. The Reverend works very hard, too hard, and it's taken a toll on his health, but he doesn't show any signs of slowing down.
Judah was born, raised and still resides in Apple Valley today. He's the only son of Melinda and Joshua Bogatzki and remains close with them despite their more conservative views. His voice is gentle and somewhat weary, one that asks kindly for your time instead of commanding an audience. His accent is so Minnesotan it's bumping you with a pan of tater tot hotdish and saying "Ope, sorry, just gonna slip right ya by here, sorry about that, friend." Judah is a deeply sensitive man and self-admitted bleeding heart. Though his own upbringing was very comfortable, he's in no way ignorant to the plight of others and wishes to help in any way he's able. He can be passive aggressive and snippy, though at least a bit of that is exhaustion. Judah often finds himself frustrated by the selfishness and entitlement of others and while he doesn't like being angry, he likes turning those angry feelings and thoughts into something positive. He's also troubled by apparent ambivalence and even negative feelings towards religion. Judah's faith has always been a core facet of his life, and he believes the church to be imperfect but ultimately a conduit for good. He joined the Presbyterian Church USA when he was 21 because they align with his own more academic, liberal beliefs compared to his moderate parents. He believes faith should be less about spreading the message and more about improving yourself and just being a good person as well as intelligent, devoted study of scripture.

Like it's fine if the product gets corrupted, like in Bendy And The Ink Machine or TattleTale. But I'm tired of getting chased by some cutesy character in some map that's like 99% hallway. At least those two titles don't do that.

Gotta say, God is up to a lot of granting my unimportant requests today. As if the train thing was not enough: I've been stressing about some conversations I need to have with my bosses for ages, and here one of them brought it up today totally unprompted, with an acknowledgement that he wasn't looking for specific details because he knows I'm in an awkward position, so the conversation was casual and productive and solutions-focused instead of me feeling like a tattletale. One reminder after another lately that he is a good Father who delights in giving good gifts to his children, and that doesn't just apply to the macro-level stuff - he genuinely cares about the little things that occupy my mind, too.
Gotta love "hee hee hoo hoo your bus route is cancelled till 6pm or so today, enjoy" announcements. But when I am praying for the train to be three minutes late so I can make it if I power-walk, and God obliges my silly small-time requests, and the weather is gorgeous for the walk to the station, that does make for a nice day.
