i’ll never get over how much tashi liked art from the very beginning, and how agitated she always was with patrick 😭😭😭 like from the moment they all met at the us open junior championships

tashi was always so engaged when art was speaking with her, a lil smile on her face and more open body language, and anytime patrick opened his mouth her face just felllll

when they were all talking with each other after the adidas party and art was like “i actually wanted to ask you about that point you made earlier—“ and tash is just all ears :( leaning forward a bit and clearly anticipating his next words.. and then patrick is like “do you smoke:D”

SHE WAS SO OVER IT. she immediately looked annoyed and her responses to patrick were so short and dismissive,, “cigarettes?” “yeah” “no.” then right back to looking at art

like it was always gonna be them.

she chose him from the start !

she could see that patrick wanted her bc she was fiery on the court and beautiful and he wanted to ‘have’ her (or at the very least her body), while art wanted her because she was extremely talented and confident and he wanted to know her.

art wanted to learn from her. ugh.

If I have to see one more post hating on Tashi for cheating on Art, while claiming Patrick would’ve been the better option for him, I’m gonna lose it.

It takes two people to cheat on someone and Patrick was well aware of Tashi and Art‘s relationship. You can’t say Patrick did what he did (sleep with Tashi) out of love for Art. That’s stupid and untrue. I’m not denying that Patrick loved Art (romantically and platonically) but he also loved Tashi.

Excluding the main character that is female and black to only ship the two white boys is not the revolutionary and forward thinking take some of you people think it is.

(Also, Tashi didn’t only love tennis. She’s a human being capable of loving more than one thing or person. This also goes for Patrick and Art. „Patrick loves Art. Art loves Tashi. Tashi loves tennis.“ is the most boring and surface-level reading of the movie. Stripping a woman of her emotions does not make her three dimensional. It makes her a flat character even if she’s focused on her „career“ rather than „a man“.)

I will admit..... I missed drawing the sides but I didn't think many really cared about my Sanders Sides art anymore? But a couple of you reached out and told me you cared and it was really nice to hear <3 It made me want to draw more and I appreciate you guys who did that a whole lot.

I'm blushing and kicking my feet because I can't stop thinking about how Art wanted to kiss Tashi so badly and was practically begging for it , I love when male characters are so whipped for their love interest they genuinely say what they want. True romance 😍

and what if I told you that even here Art’s repressed bisexuality is blatantly haunting/informing the narrative and everything that’s happening throughout (which of course also means that the absence of Patrick is also haunting the both of them).

how the moment where he decides to tell Tashi that he wants to retire is shown with a slow pan down his body with the open closet in frame, and then focus on his wedding ring…. then Tashi looks large in frame while he looks very small… and there’s a closeup when he says “I’m tired,” and then right after that there’s this specific shot of him framed as being in the closet as he starts saying, “I don’t want to be one of those guys who doesn’t know when to walk away, okay, it’s embarrassing to still be doing this shit when you’re 40.”

which is a conversation that happens a few hours after…

“Well, I don’t miss playing with you, man. I’m too old for it.”

(“We’re not talking about tennis.”

“What the fuck else do i have to talk to you about?”)
