I've come with a Warcraft angst idea.
Taria, running through a portal almost last out of any resident of Stormwind because her people have gone through so much and she needs to protect them.
Taria, safe on the other side with the people she loves, thinking that everyone made it through.
Taria, looking over the crowd to see where her family was. Lothar, Adariall, Varian, Turalyon, Khadgar...
Khadgar.
Taria, panicking because Khadgar isn’t there. He didn't come through the portal. He's still on the other side, in Stormwind, with the Shadow Council.
Taria, knowing the portal will only stay up for maybe five minutes more, turning back, and saying quietly to Lothar "No one left behind means NO one left behind." and running back through the portal, because by the Titans she is NOT losing another Guardian.
Taria, armed with only the few daggers she had on her person when she left, seeing an explosion of Fel and Arcane magic that looked like a fight.
Taria sprinting towards the explosion, knowing there is a solid chance she is already too late. But she isn't. Together, they manage to fight off the nearby Orcs and somehow, some way, get back to the portal.
They're just twenty yards away, Taria's bl33ding from a cut on her arm, Khadgar is out of mana, but the portal is so, so close. THEY are so, so close.
And it closes. Her hand is less than an inch away from it as it snaps out of existence, leaving the queen and the guardian completely abandoned.
And Lothar, on the other side, finally, after every awful thing that has happened, losing hope.
But they continue. Lothar talks Teranas Menithil into harboring them in Lordaeran. Varian befrends Arthas. But Adariall is old enough to understand that her mother and friend aren't coming back. They're gone, possibly, nay, probably forever.
And nearly five days later, they appear. They lived. Barely.

Story: The Four (original) Prompts: Apology — Palm kiss — Campfire
They were just setting up camp—moving slowly, Larrace morosely lighting a fire while Farawin quietly got out the food—when a rustle in the bushes made Timor's heart clench with fear. He slowly uncurled himself from where he'd been hunched over, hugging his knees to his chest and trying not to cry. But now fear jangled through every nerve, and he got his feet under himself, ready to run at a moment's notice.
Larrace and Farawin exchanged a tense glance, nodding in wordless agreement. Larrace's hand went to the hilt of his sword, his free hand curling around a stick in the campfire—not much of a weapon, but perhaps he could fling an ember into their assailant's eyes. Farawin, meanwhile, continued to bend over his pack as if he hadn't noticed anything amiss. But Timor could see his hand reaching for the far side of his pack, resting on the haft of his spear.
The bushes rustled again, and then a tall figure stepped out of the shadow of the trees.
Sword sliding from its sheath, spear flipping up into the air, a sudden rush—
“Fire and brimstone!”
Everyone froze.
“What on earth are you doing?” an indignant voice said from the shadows. “Trying to stick me like a wild boar?”
Slowly, Timor rose to his feet, looking closer at that dark silhouette standing taller even than Farawin. “T-T-Taria?”
The slender, lizard-like woman covered in red scales stepped into the dim light of the campfire, all of the translucent spikes on her head standing up, making her look like she wore a lion's mane. “Of course it's me!” she snapped, tail lashing back and forth as she put her hands on her hips. “You all look like you've seen a ghost!”
“I feel like we have,” Larrace said numbly, dropping his stick back into the fire as he lowered his sword.
Farawin still held his spear at the ready, eyeing Taria warily. “This...is not some trickery? You are not dead?”
Taria snorted, looking from one of them to the other. “Do I look like I'm dead? What's gotten into all of you? I thought you'd be happy to see me!”
The spear point lowered slightly. “When last we saw you, you were beset on all sides. And our enemy wields grave magic....”
Taria rolled her big, shiny black eyes as she ran a hand over her head spikes, forcibly flattening them down again. “Ugh, fine. Let's see...Larrace mumbles in his sleep, Timor is always the first one to find drinking water, and you, my fine Myrian prince, complained about the dirt messing up your precious golden embroidered sleeves the first night on our journey. I put some more mud on your sleeves so you couldn't see any more gold and you'd stop thinking about it. There! Convinced it's me yet?”
Finally, Farawin dropped the spear, looking like he couldn't decide between relief to have their friend back and irritation at the old memory.
But Timor knew exactly how he felt. He rushed past the others and threw his arms around Taria's waist, squeezing as tightly as he could and breathing in her familiar scent—once strange and foreign, now familiar and comforting.
Timor didn't realize he'd started crying again until Taria gently pulled his arms away and sank to one knee. “Hey, hey, it's all right,” she said nervously, brushing her hands across his cheeks. “I'm just fine, see? I fought them all off, and now we're back together again! I'll tell you the whole story!”
Timor grabbed her hand, which used to frighten him with her long claws and rough scales, and impulsively kissed her palm. Then he pressed it firmly against his cheek, just like he often did with Larrace, and closed his eyes. She was here. She was still here. He hadn't lost her after all.
“Sorry, Timor,” Taria murmured, pulling him in for another hug. “Didn't mean to scare you like that.”
“D-Don't...don't ever d-d-die again!” Timor sniffled, clinging to her tightly.
Taria chuckled, the sound right next to his ear doing more to reassure him than anything else. “Not me. Tritons live longer than humans, you know. So I'm not dying till you're an old, old man. Promise.”

One Dress a Day Challenge
August: Fantasy & Sci-Fi
Warcraft: The Beginning / Ruth Negga as Queen Taria Wrynn
This beautiful grey velvet dress appears in the epilogue, at the king's funeral. Queen Taria was a new character created for the movie, meaning there was no animated version to draw upon and they could design her look from scratch. It's hard to see in the actual film, but she has the lion of Stormwind worked into the back of the gown!

and with his assistant Sei Taria being Politically astute, yet sometimes devious according to Wookiepedia and slaying all throughout her screen time, they may have not been a very productive or useful Chancellor's office but they were cunty and iconic and I think at the end that's what really matters

Story: The Four (original) Prompts: Enthusiastic greeting — Late night laughter — Waking up together
Timor couldn't suppress his grin as Norun banged his stick against the marble floor and announced loudly, “Lady Taria of the Tritons!”
Taria's expression was much more composed than his, but the ridges of translucent spikes on her head kept bristling up like a cat's fur and then smoothing down as she clearly tried to rein in her excitement. Her long tail also swished back and forth more vigorously than her stately gait down the plush blue carpet to the foot of the throne warranted. One of the castle guards escorting her stumbled slightly as her tail knocked into him.
At the halfway point, the guards flanking her came to a halt with a clank of armor, then they both saluted Timor and stood at attention. As Norun had no doubt instructed her, Taria took three more steps forward—though her strides were much longer than a human's, so she was much closer than most visitors and petitioners Timor saw in the throne room. She was close enough that he could see the flames from the candelabra flickering in her big black eyes and the red scales that covered her head to foot.
Taria bent in an elaborate bow, arms extended to either side, tail curled up behind her, and sank to one knee. Timor had to bite his lip momentarily to keep from bursting into laughter. Most onlookers probably thought this was a traditional Triton gesture or something, but Timor knew that even the Triton king only received a respectful nod of the head with a hand on the heart.
“You are most welcome, Lady Taria,” Timor said. Somehow, he managed to do it without laughing, even though she lifted her head and winked at him.
“Leave us, please,” he said, gesturing to the guards and meeting Norun's disapproving gaze. “I would speak with the Triton ambassador alone.”
Norun looked like he wanted to argue, but finally bowed deeply and backed out of the throne room, along with all the other attendants and hangers-on. When the door shut behind the last one, Timor finally did what he'd been wanting to do ever since she'd been announced. He hopped down from the throne and rushed forward, just as Taria got to her feet and caught him in a bear hug.
“Look at you, shooting up like a beansprout!” Taria laughed, swinging him around in a circle. “I leave you for a year, and you've gone and grown up without me!”
Now that he was on his feet right in front of her, Timor realized that his head actually came up to her shoulder now. Yet she looked the same as ever, except that instead of the black tunic he was used to seeing her in, she now wore a silky blue shirt and swishy pants of the same color that almost looked like a skirt when she stood still.
“And you're pretty good at ordering people around now,” Taria chuckled, ruffling his hair as if to make him look a bit more like the scrawny waif she'd first met. “Who'd have thought you'd make such a good king?”
“Not me,” Timor said earnestly. “It's mostly Norun's doing, anyway. He knows all the customs and regulations, so mostly I just do it like he says. I've still got a lot to learn.”
She cocked her head and looked at him with a smile that almost looked sad. “You really are growing up. You're not that scared little kid who used to huddle up next to me after a nightmare while I tried to make him laugh. Which was every night, I might add.”
Timor's cheeks felt hot as he crossed his arms, trying to frown. “Is that any way to speak to the High King?”
Taria snorted loudly, probably the most undignified sound that had ever echoed around these marble walls. “Oh, I've got a lot more blackmail where that came from, Your Majesty. You just better thank your lucky gemstones in that crown of yours that I'm here on a goodwill mission. On your request, I might add.”
“Oh, right.” Timor had almost forgotten why she was here, in the rush of excitement at seeing her again for the first time in a year. “So you accept, then? You'll be my advisor for Triton relations, and stick around for a while to teach me everything I need to know about your people?”
“Sure!” Taria said with a casual shrug, belied by all the ridges on her head standing straight up like an excited porcupine. “Just tell me one thing: Is Farawin doing this too?”
Timor blinked in surprise. “He got here yesterday. How did you guess?”
Taria tipped her head back and laughed. “I didn't guess, I knew! It's obvious you just want to get the four back together again.” She crushed him against her side in another hug, grinning down at him with a toothy smile.
“Yes,” Timor admitted, savoring the warm touch of her hand on his shoulder, a liberty no one ever took with him these days. “Of course I do. I can't be myself unless I've got you.”
