I'm sure it's been discussed at length already but I think it's easy to assume saiyans are strong so their genes are dominant but I (like to) think it's the opposite. It's interesting to think that the ecological nature of a saiyan is stealthy and invasive, and according to Jaco a saiyan invasion was going to be extra dangerous to earth because they look like earthlings (and a lot of other human-like races in the db universe) and one baby saiyan will easily go completely undetected until it starts the extermination process.

so it actually makes a lot of sense to me that a saiyan hybrid would take more physical traits from a local species, while maintaining the potential to house a saiyan's strength and inborn power over ki (which I think due to the story following a group of people who use it is a thing we often forgotten is a super rare and dangerous ability in that universe, and inborn/instinctive to a select few very powerful races). Could also be a fun way to explain why their tails can detach and grow back, since that may be the only real Tell.

because like yeah gohan and goten look like goku but they also look like chichi ykwim? trunks and bulla look like bulma. pan looks like videl. thoughts i chew on.

I also just find parasitism a real good meaty horror concept to put in my little 'this is why everyone's afraid of saiyans' headcanon file along with 'can see in the dark, biologically strategic energy consumption, can go long periods without food or rest' and of course the canonical 'surprise monkey werewolf kaiju'

Tarble drawings I did recently.

I wish Tarble was shown more, like he's related to Vegeta and has his own special but barely anyone knows he's a character in DBZ. Also he's funny.

So I got my filthy hands on the two small "volumes" of the original Manga that contains Yo Son Goku and Friends Return (by Ooishi Naho, you know, the DBSD person, who was a doujin artist prior).

Been getting back into dbz lately (partially thanks to the dbz fandom being alive and well and kicking my ass on artfight with my one oc) and as a result i've been thinking of lots of aus and what-ifs regarding dbz and such

Had a late night can't sleep thought of 'what if Tarble had married a Tuffle instead of Gure'/'what if Gure was a Tuffle' and this lovely lady was born!

Her name is Princess Furu (from Furūtsu/Fruit). She is the last 'pure'/non-Baby-like Tuffle and daughter of King Tuffle who was sent to another planet as a small child early in the Saiyan-Tuffle war. When the Tuffles lost contact with the experimental ship it was presumed destroyed but in reality it had in fact managed to land safely on another planet. The very same planet that Tarble would be sent to many years later by his father! Initially there was some tension between the two but eventually Furu began to accept the Prince. After learning of the destruction of Planet Vegeta the two bonded with another over the loss of the planet and, now, the loss of both of their peoples.

Eventually Tarble and Furu seek out Vegeta for help dealing with Abo and Kado just like in canon, however, this time they choose to stay on Earth. The reason being that they have a daughter in this AU and they would like her to grow up around other Saiyans.

The daughter is gonna be a reworked version of my ancient tuffle-saiyan hybrid oc Elppa!

Anyway here is the Princess herself!

She's basically her own oc at this point I guess? Just heavily inspired by Gure :D She's also stylistically inspired by various tuffle outfits seen throughout the series!

i love that vegeta is like 'this is my shitty fucking awful brother who i wanted to kill when i was five and his wife who is always welcome in our house and i respect very deeply.'

do u think he was being sincere + that was Character Development or was he trying to avoid bulma fucking obliterating him for being mean to women (who were not romantic rivals)

I THINK IT WAS A FEW THINGS ...

- Gure is funny lookin and no one was expecting her to be Tarble's wife. And Vegeta was just so disarmed that he defaulted to passivity and kindness.

- The reason that that ^ was his default IS character development, but also it was only becasue he was talking to a woman. Women are scary and especially women who are wives. Every wife he knows is quick to yell and attack

- if he was talking to a male alien instead then he probably would have been like >:/ ok..... welcome I guess ........

- Vegeta of today is a changed man who has aligned himself with the ideals of family. He does not like Tarble and has not thought of him in all of this time, BUT he is family and his wife is family so Vegeta has to be civil.

- Yeah and if he was shitty then Bulma would have his head on a spicket
