#BoycottScream7
I will not be watching Scream 7 in any shape or form.
This should be exciting news. Neve Campbell returning. Kevin Williamson directing. But it's hard to shake off the black cloud hanging over the franchise after Melissa Barrera's unjust bullshit firing.
I am disappointed by Neve's decision to come back after the way Spyglass treated Melissa. I am disappointed that Kevin decided to come back after how Melissa was treated by Spyglass. And fuck Spyglass for simply seeing standing up against A LITERAL FUCKING GENOCIDE for an oppressed people and labeling it as antisemitism to slander and silence her. Fuck Spyglass. Free Palestine.
All this is to me is Spyglass desperate attempt to save their sinking ship.
No offense, but fuck all of you. Fuck Neve and fuck Kevin. And most importantly Fuck Spyglass.
The whole situation feels like a scab crossing a picket line.
Also Neve's announcement feels weird. Why is she this excited? She was never excited about this in returning for Scream 5. Not even 3 or 4. The second they fire her replacement, she's back and putting out a whole statement to do their damage control. She got her role back after the lead actor got fired for speaking out against a literal fucking genocide and her co-star refused to return after Melissa's gross firing(we all know that's the case, you can use Wednesday all you want but we ALL KNOW Jenna did not return) the whole thing just feels like a stab in the back from Neve to Melissa. Bottom line is Melissa was fired from this movie because she was being vocal against a genocide and Neve had no problem taking her place.
Melissa supported Neve Campbell when she left after not getting paid what she was owed, but Neve can’t even attempt to support Melissa in the most bare minimum of ways after she got fired and slandered for speaking up against literal genocide. Again, I am so disappointed with Neve.
Neve Campbell has no backbone. Melissa Barrera supported you without hesitation when they wouldn’t pay you what you’re worth for Scream but as soon as they (unfairly) fire her you’re just so happy to be back? with people supporting a genocide? Girl, fuck you.
The only way they could make this Scream situation any worse is if they kill off the Core Four off-screen in the most unceremonious tone deaf way possible.
Unless out of nowhere they rehire Melissa and issue a full throated apology, I am not watching this shit. Total offense, but fuck Scream 7 and I hope it flops miserably.
To me Scream VI is the perfect ending to the franchise. Sidney has her happy ending. Gale and Kirby are alive. The Core Four are alive. Sam contemplates keeping Billy’s mask, but ultimately drops it to go with Tara and their relationship is healed. It literally ends with dropping Billy's mask and it's the perfect end to the franchise and it doesn't need any continuation whatsoever.

The Return of Ghostface—What to Expect in Scream 7 🔪🎬
Horror fans, brace yourselves—Ghostface is back, and this time, the game has changed. Scream 7 is set to hit theaters on February 27, 2026, with Kevin Williamson, the mastermind behind the original film, stepping in as director for the first time. This isn’t just another sequel—it’s a reinvention of the franchise, promising more blood, more suspense, and twists no one will see coming.
🔴 Sidney Prescott’s Fight Is More Personal Than Ever Neve Campbell returns as Sidney Prescott, but this time, she isn’t just fighting for survival—she’s fighting for her family. With Isabel May as her daughter and Joel McHale as her husband, the stakes are higher than ever.
🔴 Stu Macher and Roman Bridger—Back from the Dead? The biggest shocker? Matthew Lillard is back as Stu Macher, a character long thought to be dead. And if that wasn’t enough, Scott Foley returns as Roman Bridger, raising more questions than answers. Is Scream 7 taking a supernatural turn, or has the past been rewritten?
🔴 Who Won’t Be Making the Cut? Not everyone is returning to Woodsboro. Melissa Barrera (Sam Carpenter) and Jenna Ortega (Tara Carpenter) won’t be reprising their roles, shifting the story’s focus toward a darker, more unpredictable direction.
Will Sidney finally escape Ghostface’s grip, or is this just another chapter in her never-ending nightmare?

Newish Comics:
Big big week here on what came out 4 weeks ago! I have many opinions! You all have to put up with me being insufferable over A Nice House by the Sea (but you should totally read the Nice House series if you have not).
I am also going to contain my comments on Absolute Power stuff in this to titles I'd be reading anyway; I'm putting together a separate post for my feelings on the first 4 weeks of the event.
The Nice House by the Sea #1: So I have been so excited for this and I am delighted to announce it lives up to my expectations.
If you are new to this, I do suggest going back and reading Lake, because Sea is written with clear expectation that the readers already know the conceits of the mysteries of Lake, as this household does as well.
But I love the way Tynion's connected the two households, with one of the members of Sea (Oliver Landon Clay) being a friend of Walter's who didn't go into Walter's house, and instead was invited and accepted Max's invitation instead. And the reasons why that we get in the first issue are so juicy - Oliver is clearly set up to be an echo of the decisions made by Reg, which is going to be fascinating, in that they both have responded to their childhood knowledge in such different ways.
Also there's an fun Animorphs joke and I was reminded that yeah, Tynion is exactly the right age to have been an Animorphs kid.
Tumblr media
Zatanna: Bring Down the House #2: this remains enjoyable, though I was reminded with this issue that it is definitely Black Label, because all the explanations going on here do not match my understanding of any of the Homo Magi stuff or versions of Zatara's fate that I've encountered previously. However! Still a rollicking yarn!
Green Arrow #14: yes this is a tie in, Thunderbirds a Go!
Okay, okay, there are a bunch of cute references and throw backs in this. As someone who has a lot of feelings about 90s Green Arrow plots and Ollie being awful in them, I really wish someone other than Joshua Williamson was writing this. (mostly because I suspect we are going to get soft soaped on the 'no seriously, Ollie failed people and was terrible' front when Ollie eventually gets around to his triple cross)
The Flash #11: God. When the art in this run is on it is ON (though. How is Bart shorter than the twins now. What is going on).
Tumblr media
Batman: The Brave and the Bold #15: ...it is incredible how this story reminds me of how much Tim Seeley irritates me as a writer, largely because he loves using beats I prefer to diminish.
Important note: The Renee story looks like it is the bridge into the new run? Same writer. So if you're down for The Question: All Along the Watchtower, you should probably look at BatB #15 & #16.
The Warlord #62: this week in Skartaris! A fantastical world within our own, lying undetected in primeval splendour! (thanks Grell)
Tara and Graemore are still angsting about their affair and whether to tell Travis.
Tumblr media
"Organise a Royal Hunt--and make it a real outing! I'll get to try some of my bawdier material, Morgan blows off some steam, you rest easier, and the farmers are rid of their problem!" "Brilliant, Graemore! Thank you! I'll go sound Morgan out on the idea right now."
Seriously why will the three of you not contemplate polyamory???
Well, if you won't, then Travis is going to find himself having an extremely manly wrestle with *checks notes* Rostov, the local werewolf.
Tumblr media
(Grell, thank you again for your bondage and power dynamics kinks)
Tara decides to deliver an ultimatum when Travis heads out to try and help Rostov find a cure for lycanthropy by visiting Jenny to see if she can help; apparently she has finally reached her limit in terms of "Travis's attention span is half an issue long" for the present. Tara! Let a man go visit his daughter!

Scream 7—No One Escapes Ghostface 🔪🔥
You can run. You can hide. But Ghostface never stops. Scream 7 is creeping closer, arriving in theaters on February 27, 2026, with Kevin Williamson—the mastermind behind the original film—now taking the director’s chair. The game has changed, and this time, no one is safe.
🔴 Sidney Prescott’s Nightmare Isn’t Over Neve Campbell returns as Sidney Prescott, but survival has never come without sacrifice. With a husband and daughter now in the picture, the stakes are higher than ever.
🔴 Stu Macher: Back for Revenge? Everyone thought Matthew Lillard’s Stu Macher was dead. But was he? Or has he been lurking in the shadows, waiting for the perfect time to strike?
🔴 Roman Bridger’s Return—The Story No One Saw Coming As if one “dead” killer wasn’t enough, Scott Foley is back as Roman Bridger. How? Scream 7 isn’t just bringing back the past—it’s rewriting its own history.
🔴 Who Won’t Be There? Melissa Barrera (Sam Carpenter) and Jenna Ortega (Tara Carpenter) won’t be returning, leaving room for an even darker and more unpredictable story.
What’s coming next? And what role will Stu and Roman play in the bloodshed ahead?

Meeting of the High Council of the Star League
Date: 27 September, 3152
Location: Court of the Star League, Unity City
---
[BEGIN MEETING NOTES TRANSCRIPT]
[TRANSCRIPT COMPILED BY: Corporal Shana Williamson, SLDF Staff Command]
---
Alaric Ward (First Lord/ilKhan): (Standing at head of table) "Thank you all. We have much to discuss today, but first, let us address the Stonehearts insurgency. Their recent attacks have escalated beyond tolerable levels. Brevet Colonel Dunne, I believe you have prepared a briefing on their activities?"
Mason Dunne (Brevet Colonel, SLDF): (Stands, tapping his datapad. A holographic map of Terra appears, highlighting insurgent activity in North Africa, the Great Lakes Administrative District, and scattered areas in the South Pacific) "Thank you, First Lord. The Stonehearts have shifted tactics over the past quarter. Their operations show signs of desperation, but they remain highly effective. Key incidents include the Tripoli massacre in August, the attempted breach of the Antarctic command complex, and the assault on Wolf supply lines in the Great Lakes region." (Gestures to North Africa on the map) "In Tripoli, their amphibious assets allowed them to surprise and overwhelm SLDF security forces. While we neutralized the majority of their forces during the subsequent Tobruk operation, intelligence indicates remaining cells are regrouping deeper in the Sahara." (Switches focus to the Great Lakes region) "In North America, the Stonehearts have shifted to asymmetric tactics—IEDs, sniper attacks, and food supply contamination. The Chicago supply chain bombing killed more civilians than SLDF personnel but has fueled public discontent." (Turns to the Antarctic map) "The Antarctic attack was their boldest move, targeting the Fortress Wall infrastructure. Their reliance on battle armor over 'Mechs shows their dwindling resources, but they remain dangerous. We need to disrupt their supply lines and eliminate their leadership to neutralize the threat."
Melissa Hazen (Brevet Commanding General, SLDF): (Nods) "Colonel Dunne’s assessment is accurate. The Stonehearts are fragmenting, but their decentralized cells make them harder to root out. Asena, has your team identified how they are maintaining their supply lines? Cutting off their resources remains the key to ending this insurgency."
Asena Liška (Director, Star League Intelligence Command): (Zooms in on the Sahara region on the hologram.) "We’ve traced several supply routes funneling resources to Stonehearts cells. Rogue Belter networks and deep-cover operatives on Terra are their primary sources. The Tobruk operation severed one hub, but fallback nodes in Mauritania and Mali remain active. Some rogue Sea Fox merchants may be unwittingly aiding their resupply efforts, and Belter black markets continue to funnel materials into their hands."
Sterling McKenna (Khan, Clan Snow Raven): (Nods) "My Raven operatives will continue monitoring Belter activity. Diplomacy with the Metis Commission has reduced overt support, but we must tread carefully to avoid pushing them back into resistance. Cutting off rogue merchants is a priority."
Stephanie Chistu (Khan, Clan Jade Falcon): (Leans forward) "The Stonehearts represent a threat not only to Terra but to the Star League’s legitimacy. My Falcons are prepared to strike at their leadership and destroy their remaining forces. Precision strikes by Falcon warriors would send a clear message that defiance is futile."
Tara Jade-Falcon (Bondsman to Chistu):(Raises hand, acknowledged by First Lord, speaks to Chistu) "My Khan, while I respect your zeal and the Falcons’ abilities, we must consider the realities of our current situation. Our touman has been greatly diminished. Many of our warriors now serve in the Royal Black Watch, and we still face internal challenges with remnants of Mongol Doctrine sympathizers. Until we have rebuilt and stabilized, we cannot afford to expend more of our forces."
Melissa Hazen: (Nods in agreement) "Tara is correct. Khan Chistu, your Falcons have already proven their loyalty and strength, but the Jade Falcons must focus on rebuilding and repopulating if they are to remain a vital part of the new Star League. Overcommitting now would leave your Clan vulnerable."
Stephanie Chistu: (Pauses, nods) "You both speak wisely. My Falcons will focus on strengthening our foundations. However, I believe the Jade Falcons still have a role to play in this campaign. A Star of our best warriors could accompany the operation. It would demonstrate unity and project our strength without overextending us."
Jonah Levin (former Republic Exarch, civilian advisor to First Lord Ward): (Leans back in his chair) "That’s a sensible approach, Khan Chistu. A small, elite force from each Clan would send a powerful message of solidarity while avoiding unnecessary strain on anyone’s resources."
Mori Hawker (Khan, Clan Sea Fox): (Smiles, nods) "I agree. My Clan can spare a Star for the operation as well. And, as noted, we must ensure the stability of our Clans and the Star League above all else."
Sterling McKenna: "The Ravens will also contribute a Star. However, I suggest we prioritize precision strikes and economic disruption. Removing their supply lines will weaken them far more effectively than brute force."
Valeria Windsor-Cameron (President, Terran Congress): (sounding concerned) "Agreed. The people of Terra are already strained from the war and its aftermath. Large-scale operations like Tobruk will only deepen resentment. A coordinated campaign with minimal collateral damage is the best path forward."
Alaric Ward: (sits) "It seems we are in agreement. Each Clan will contribute a Star to this operation, projecting the unity of the Star League while avoiding overextension. Colonel Dunne and General Hazen, coordinate with Director Liška to ensure precision and effectiveness. We will root out the Stonehearts and show Terra that the Star League stands united."
(Hologram of Terra fades, replaced by map of the Inner Sphere. Several systems near Terra—New Earth, Altair, and Chara—flash red, marking current edge of Capellan advances. Display centers on New Earth, a highlighted point marking the ruins of Fort Noruff.)
Alaric Ward: "We must now address the matter of the Capellan advance. Their proximity to Terra itself and their latest atrocity—the nuclear strike on New Earth—cannot go unanswered. Fort Noruff held historical significance not only to Clan Wolf but to every Clan that values our shared legacy. The nuking of Kerensky’s command complex is an affront to the Star League itself."
Stephanie Chistu: "This is no longer merely a military campaign by the Capellans. They seek to destroy symbols of our heritage, to break the will of both the Clans and the Inner Sphere. Such actions demand a response."
Prohaska Moon (Khan, Clan Smoke Jaguar): (Nods) "They have declared themselves enemies not just of the ilClan, but of all who honor strength and tradition. My Dark Skyriders are ready to strike at their supply lines, sabotage their jumpships, and bleed them dry. Grant me leave, and I will ensure they regret ever stepping near the Terran system."
Melissa Hazen: (Clears throat) "A targeted response is essential, but we cannot act recklessly. The Liao advance is methodical and well-supported. If they manage to breach the Sol system, it would be catastrophic—not just militarily, but symbolically. We must act decisively, but with coordination. This is a Star League matter, not just a Clan one."
Alaric Ward: (Raises hand, room falls silent) "General Hazen is correct. This is no longer solely a Clan conflict. The time has come to consolidate our naval assets under a single banner—that of the Star League Defense Force."
(General low-volume conversation begins. Khan Hawker and Khan McKenna exchange glances)
Alaric Ward: (Raises hands, room quiets) "All Clan vessels, former Republic warships, and any remaining ComStar naval assets are hereby nationalized under the SLDF. Melissa, you will oversee this consolidation. Every WarShip, DropShip, and aerospace fighter will fall under a unified chain of command. This is no longer about individual Clan pride. It is about the survival of Terra and the Star League."
Mori Hawker: (Frowns, nods.) "A bold move, First Lord. My merchants will cooperate, though I expect suitable compensation for the vessels we have supplied and continue to maintain."
Sterling McKenna: "The Snow Ravens will comply as well. We’ve already begun deploying reconnaissance forces to track Capellan movements in contested systems. However, naval power alone won’t turn the tide. We must think beyond defensive postures."
[SLIC Note: Biometric analysis of the meeting footage shows McKenna remaining outwardly calm here, but micro-expressions and involuntary physiological signs indicate guilt and panic. Clearly realizing her plot against Daoshen on Sian was going to unravel soon. Though sooner than she thought... - Asena]
Jonah Levin: (Leans forward) "First Lord, if I may—this consolidation is necessary, but we must also address the morale of the Terran populace. The loss of New Earth has shaken many. We need a clear message that the Star League stands ready to protect its people and heritage."
Alaric Ward: (Nods) "And we will send that message. General Hazen, I am authorizing the deployment of Fidelis forces alongside Khan Moon’s Dark Skyriders and Spirit Stalkers. They will harass Capellan forces, disrupt their logistics, and ensure they cannot stage an invasion of the Sol system."
Mason Dunne: (Cautiously) "The Fidelis are unparalleled in covert operations, but we must tread carefully. Prolonged harassment could provoke Liao into escalating their attacks. We need to balance disruption with preparation for a decisive strike."
Melissa Hazen: (Glances at First Lord, then others) "We will coordinate closely to ensure the operations are precise and effective. The SLDF will take point on this, with the Dark Skyriders and Fidelis operating under my command."
Stephanie Chistu: "My Falcons will contribute a Star of aerospace fighters to support the operation. It may be that our Clan must rebuild, but I will not stand idle while our heritage is threatened."
Valeria Windsor-Cameron: "First Lord, the people of Terra will rally behind this united front. But I must echo Jonah’s concerns. We must ensure the populace understands the stakes and trusts the Star League to protect them. Transparency and communication will be key."
Alaric Ward: "Rest assured, President Windsor-Cameron, the Star League will not falter. The Capellans think they can intimidate us with their brutality, but we will show them the strength of unity. This is our moment to prove that the Star League is more than a name—it is a force that will endure."
(The room falls silent)
Alaric Ward: "With the SLDF leading our forces and the Clans united in purpose, we will protect Terra and all that it stands for."
(Hologram shifts to the Ghost Bear Dominion, with Rasalhague and Alshain highlighted.)
First Lord Alaric Ward: "We must now discuss the Ghost Bear Dominion. The first vote on joining the Star League was contentious, with the Joiner faction prevailing by only a slim margin. The second vote is fast approaching, and reports suggest the Joiners are gaining ground, spurred in part by the perception of my more measured governance of Terra."
Noritomo Helmer (Loremaster of the Star League/Adjutant General): (Frowns) "While the shift in sentiment is encouraging, we cannot overlook the Dominion’s internal divisions. A narrow victory for the Joiners may not bring stability. If the Denier faction feels alienated or marginalized, it could sow discord within the Dominion and complicate their integration into the Star League."
Sterling McKenna: (skeptically) "Can we even trust the results of this second vote? The Dominion’s inner workings are opaque, and the Ghost Bears are known for their insular nature. A contested outcome could create more problems than it solves, especially if the Denier faction suspects outside interference."
Mori Hawker: (Nods) "The Ghost Bears are pragmatic but proud. If they perceive the Star League as meddling in their internal affairs, it could backfire spectacularly. We must tread carefully here."
Melissa Hazen: "We have no choice but to take this vote seriously. The Dominion represents a significant force—militarily, economically, and culturally. Their inclusion would strengthen the Star League immensely. However, we must approach this delicately, as allies rather than conquerors."
Stephanie Chistu: (Nods) "I agree with General Hazen. The Ghost Bears value honor and stability. They will not respond well to any hint of coercion. But if they see the Star League as a source of unity and strength, they may come willingly. It is imperative we show them our commitment to those ideals."
Savannah Caruso (Commander, Fursona’s Fusiliers): (Leaning back in her chair) "With respect, do any of you truly understand what’s happening inside the Dominion right now? Most of what we know comes through second-hand reports and carefully curated communiques. If we’re going to trust the results of this vote—or act on them—we need someone on the ground, someone they might actually listen to."
(Room falls silent, faint conversation and glancing at Caruso)
Noritomo Helmer: "Commander Caruso, while I respect your service, I am curious as to what insights your regiment could provide regarding the Ghost Bear Dominion."
Savannah Caruso: (Smirks, leans forward) "I count all of the Totem Warriors—except General Hazen—among my command. Astrid Tseng, the Ghost Bear Totem Warrior herself, is one of them. If you want someone the Dominion might trust to act as an agent of the Star League, I suggest we send her. Astrid has the standing, the skill, and the respect of the Ghost Bears to make this work."
Jonah Levin: (Stiffens in chair, observes Caruso closely)
Prohaska Moon: "A bold suggestion, Commander. But would Astrid Tseng even agree to such a mission? The Dominion is fractured, and being caught in the middle of their politics could be dangerous—even for a Totem Warrior."
Melissa Hazen: (Nods) "Savannah raises a valid point. Astrid is uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between the Star League and the Dominion. Her presence could lend credibility to the Joiner faction while providing us with invaluable insights into the true state of their society."
Valeria Windsor-Cameron: (Raises eyebrow) "It’s an interesting proposal, but how do we ensure her safety? If the Denier faction sees her as a threat, they may act against her, and that could inflame tensions further."
Savannah Caruso: (Shrugs nonchalantly) "She’s a Totem Warrior. She knows the risks, and she’s faced worse. Besides, Astrid has a knack for winning people over, even in the most hostile situations. If anyone can navigate the complexities of the Dominion, it’s her."
Alaric Ward: (Nods) "Very well. I authorize the deployment of Astrid Tseng to the Ghost Bear Dominion as an official representative of the Star League. She will assess the situation on the ground and report directly to General Hazen and Loremaster Helmer. This mission will be conducted with the utmost discretion."
Sterling McKenna: "A wise choice, First Lord. Let us hope the Dominion sees this as a gesture of good faith."
Jonah Levin: "If Astrid succeeds, it could mark a turning point not just for the Dominion, but for the Star League as a whole. But we must be prepared for any outcome, including the possibility that the Denier faction will not accept the results of this vote."
Alaric Ward: "If the Denier faction rejects the will of their people, they will have to contend with the Star League. But for now, we will place our trust in Astrid Tseng and the strength of our shared vision."
(Hologram shifts again, displays the territory of Wolf Empire)
Alaric Ward: "The situation with the Wolf Empire cannot be allowed to persist. The destruction of our command circuit and the raiders cutting us off from the Empire have not only isolated us but weakened our position in the Inner Sphere. We must reintegrate the Empire into the Star League. Its resources, manpower, and strategic position are too vital to leave fragmented."
Noritomo Helmer: "The Wolf Empire’s assets are considerable. Its industrial capacity, warrior strength, and logistical infrastructure could all serve to bolster the Star League. But without the command circuit, reestablishing control will be a monumental task. And there is the matter of ensuring that Othar, or whoever is currently leading the remnants, will accept reintegration willingly."
Melissa Hazen: (Leans forward) "We need to act quickly but strategically. Any prolonged isolation of the Wolf Empire will only invite more raiders, more Capellan incursions, and potentially even internal splintering."
Stephanie Chistu: "The Wolf Empire must see the Star League not as a threat but as their rightful future. They must know they are valued as a cornerstone of this reborn Star League. However, I would caution against underestimating the damage their isolation has caused. Their touman is likely depleted, their supply lines fractured, and their morale shaken. They may not have the capacity to rejoin without significant assistance."
Sterling McKenna: "If we are to bring the Empire back into the fold, we must secure those systems that are currently contested or under threat. I suggest deploying naval assets to stabilize the perimeter of the Empire’s territory. Without secure borders, any attempt at reintegration will fail."
Mori Hawker: "The Sea Foxes can assist with this effort. Our merchant fleet has the mobility and resources to supply the Wolf Empire while maintaining trade routes. However, this will not be a charitable endeavor. We will need assurances that our investments will be honored."
Jonah Levin: "The question isn’t just about reconnecting the Empire physically. It’s about ensuring the people of the Empire feel they are part of the Star League, not just pawns in some larger game. If we neglect their concerns or impose too heavy a hand, we risk rebellion—not loyalty."
Savannah Caruso: "The problem isn’t just the raiders or the Capellans. It’s the vacuum of leadership. If the Wolves have no clear and unified leadership on the Empire side, this reintegration effort will fail before it even starts. We need someone who can rally the Empire to the Star League banner, someone who commands respect from warriors and civilians alike."
Mason Dunne: (Nods) "That’s true. And while the First Lord's name carries weight, it may not be enough to bridge the gap. We’ll need to send a representative who can both negotiate and lead. Someone who embodies the ideals of the Star League and can inspire loyalty."
Valeria Windsor-Cameron: "And who would that be? Who among us has the trust of the Empire and the ability to navigate the challenges ahead?"
Melissa Hazen: "Alaric himself would be the ideal choice, but his presence is required here, at the heart of the Star League. However, I propose another candidate—Anastasia Kerensky."
(Noise of reactions, whispers. First Lord calls for silence)
Alaric Ward: (Nods slowly) "Anastasia is a logical choice. She carries the name Kerensky, a name that still commands respect and reverence throughout the Empire. Her experience has given her the tools to lead, negotiate, and inspire."
Sterling McKenna: (Skeptical) "But will the Empire see her as a true Wolf or as an outsider? Anastasia’s time in exile and her close ties to the Inner Sphere may make her position... complicated."
Noritomo Helmer: "Complicated, yes. But that very complexity may be her greatest strength. Anastasia understands the nuances of both Clan and Spheroid cultures. She can bridge the divide in ways few others can."
Khan Stephanie Chistu: "If Anastasia is to succeed, she will need the full backing of the Star League—and the Clans. My Falcons will provide a Star of warriors to accompany her, as a gesture of unity and support."
Melissa Hazen: "The SLDF will do the same. Mason, coordinate with Anastasia to ensure she has all the resources she needs for this mission. This is not just about reconnecting the Empire—it is about demonstrating that the Star League is united."
Mori Hawker: "The Sea Foxes will assist as well, providing logistical support and trade routes to sustain the Empire during this transition. This will also reinforce the idea that the Star League is here to build, not to conquer."
(Communication is set up to Anastasia Kerensky. First Lord explains details of mission.)
Anastasia Kerensky: "I accept this mission, First Lord. I will ensure the Wolf Empire returns to the Star League."
Alaric Ward: "Then it is decided. Anastasia Kerensky will lead the mission to reintegrate the Wolf Empire. The Star League will not abandon its own."
(Hologram shifts again, now centered on the Isle of Skye)
Noritomo Helmer: (Frowning) "The Isle of Skye presents a unique challenge. What began as a localized rebellion against the Wolf Empire has grown into a budding polity with industrial power and military backing. Heather GioAvanti has made it clear that her ambitions don’t stop with defending Skye. Expansion is inevitable."
Melissa Hazen: "The Skye Rangers are more than just an upstart rebellion. GioAvanti’s alliance with the Galatean League and the industrial resources of other systems have turned them into a potential regional power. While they are not yet a direct threat, their expansion could destabilize the region—or worse, draw them into conflict with us."
Valeria Windsor-Cameron: (Leaning forward) "Or they could become allies. GioAvanti’s rhetoric centers on survival and protecting Republic ideals. If we reach out now, we might find common ground before their ambitions grow too large to control."
Jonah Levin: "Reaching out will be tricky. GioAvanti won’t trust the Star League, not after Terra and the collapse of the Republic. She’ll see any diplomatic overture as a veiled threat or an attempt to subsume her Isle into the ilClan’s orbit."
Stephanie Chistu: "Trust is irrelevant. Let them learn that the Star League does not fear them. My Falcons can handle the Rangers if they become a problem. However, given our… current circumstances, I understand the need to proceed cautiously. A diplomatic approach, while not my preference, is prudent."
Savannah Caruso: "The Isle of Skye doesn’t need to trust us. They need to see that the Star League is their best option for survival. GioAvanti might claim to fight for Republic ideals, but ideals won’t rebuild her world or secure her borders. That’s where we come in."
(Pause as several people turn to look at Caruso)
Mori Hawker: "The Sea Foxes have already engaged in limited trade with the Isle of Skye. Their industrial capacity is impressive, but their military strength is still nascent compared to what the Clans could bring to bear. If they are expanding, it is likely to secure resources, not to provoke war."
Melissa Hazen: "Then we use that. The Isle of Skye is a potential partner, but we cannot let their ambitions conflict with the Star League’s broader goals. I recommend sending an envoy—someone who can represent the League’s interests while appealing to GioAvanti’s pragmatism."
Alaric Ward: "Agreed. The Isle of Skye must understand that their survival lies with the Star League, not against it. We need strength and diplomacy in equal measure."
Melissa Hazen: "I have someone in mind—Savannah herself. Her Fusiliers have a reputation for discipline and effectiveness. As a mercenary commander, she will have credibility with GioAvanti that the rest of us lack. If anyone can open the door to diplomacy, it may be her."
Valeria Windsor-Cameron: (Frowning) "A mercenary envoy? That seems… unconventional."
Jonah Levin: "Unconventional, yes, but effective. Savannah’s reputation speaks for itself, and GioAvanti will recognize her as someone who operates outside traditional politics. That may be exactly what we need to bridge the gap."
Savannah Caruso: "If that’s what you need, I’ll do it. But I’ll need more than words to convince GioAvanti. If we’re serious about this, I’ll need visible support from the Star League itself."
Melissa Hazen: "You will have the full backing of the Star League in your mission, and I will ensure you have the resources necessary to succeed."
Noritomo Helmer: "GioAvanti will listen, if only because she cannot afford not to."
Alaric Ward: (Leaning forward slightly) "It is decided. Commander Caruso, you will act as the Star League’s envoy to the Isle of Skye. Show GioAvanti that the League is the future of the Inner Sphere—not a threat, but an opportunity. Make it clear that we value her alliance, but that we will not tolerate actions that undermine our efforts."
Savannah Caruso: (nods) "All right, First Lord. I’ll do what needs to be done."
(Hologram shifts and splits to focus on two separate regions of space - Northwind and the Hinterlands)
Noritomo Helmer: "Let us now turn our attention to two critical regions: Northwind, a world steeped in the traditions of the Highlanders and their historical ties to the Republic, and the Hinterlands. We have reliable intelligence that a significant amount of Jade Falcon forces remain in the area, under the leadership of one "Khan" Jiyi Chistu. Both are excellent candidates to be brought into the fold."
Tara Jade Falcon: "With respect, ilKhan and Khan Chistu, I volunteer to lead a mission to Northwind. I know the people there well. My time as Countess of Northwind, while brief, gave me insight into their culture and their fierce loyalty to their traditions. Arabell, my younger sister, now rules as Countess. She may distrust me, but I believe I can reach her—and by extension, the Highlanders."
Jonah Levin: "Tara, while I respect your willingness to step forward, you must understand that many on Northwind may now see you as an enemy. The Highlanders fought against Clan domination for generations, and your association with the Jade Falcons will not be forgotten lightly."
Tara Jade Falcon: "I am aware of that, Jonah. That is why I am not going alone. Your presence, as a representative of the former Republic, would go a long way in easing their fears. Together, we can show them that the Star League respects their sovereignty and values their strength."
(Levin reacts, surprised)
Melissa Hazen: "Jonah, you accompanying Tara makes sense. The Highlanders will trust you in ways they might not trust her, and your influence could be instrumental in bridging the gap. Tara, I trust you to approach this mission with care, but remember: this is about diplomacy, not domination."
Jonah Levin: "I appreciate your confidence, General. I’ll do what I can to ensure Northwind sees the Star League as an ally, not a threat. Tara, I’ll leave the initial approach to you—your ties to Arabell give you a unique opportunity. But I’ll step in where needed."
Alaric Ward: "Tara, Jonah—you have my authorization to proceed. Northwind is a symbol of resilience, and its inclusion in the Star League will send a powerful message across the Inner Sphere. Do not fail."
Tara Jade Falcon: (Bows slightly.) "We will not, ilKhan."
Stephanie Chistu: "While Northwind is important, the Hinterlands are equally so. The remnants of the Jade Falcons on Sudeten must not be left adrift. They are warriors, bound by honor and discipline, but they need guidance. I will lead the mission to reconnect with them personally."
Melissa Hazen: "Your presence on Sudeten will carry significant weight, Stephanie. What about the Alyina Mercantile League? Their resources and influence in the region could be invaluable, but they’ve grown increasingly independent since their separation from the Falcons."
Stephanie Chistu: "I intend to reach out to the Alyina Mercantile League as well. Their pragmatism and trade networks make them a potential ally, even if they remain autonomous. If I can secure their cooperation, it will stabilize the Hinterlands and prevent outside forces from exploiting any divisions."
Valeria Windsor-Cameron: "Do you anticipate resistance from the remnants on Sudeten? Or do you believe they’ll be receptive to the Star League’s overtures?"
Stephanie Chistu: (Pauses) "There will be resistance, undoubtedly. But many recognize the need for unity and order. If I can demonstrate that the Star League offers a path to honor and purpose, I believe they will listen."
Melissa Hazen: "You will have the full backing of the Star League for this mission, Stephanie. However, I suggest working closely with Asena to gather intelligence on the political dynamics within the Hinterlands before you depart."
Asena Liška: "I’ll ensure you have everything you need, Khan Chistu. The Hinterlands are a patchwork of alliances and rivalries—it’s best to know where the fault lines lie before you set foot on Sudeten."
Alaric Ward: "Khan Chistu, you have my blessing to proceed. The Hinterlands must not become a haven for disorder. Bring them into the Star League—not through force, but through strength of vision and unity."
Stephanie Chistu: "Thank you, ilKhan. I will not fail."
Alaric Ward: "Are there any other matters of note for the council?" (pause) "Neg? Then hereby declare this council meeting adjourned."

New York, New Rules: Scream VI Review
Tumblr media
Pictured above is the “Scream VI” poster.

One year ago, Scream (2022) slashed its way into theaters, and it received critical acclaim while being a box office hit making $138.9 million at the box office. It was a beautiful tribute to series creator Wes Craven and as I said in my Scream (2022) review, I almost teared up. So, lets just cut to the chase and go straight into my spoiler free thoughts on this latest entry into the “Scream” franchise.
Scream VI is a 2023 slasher horror film directed by the Radio Silence team consisting of Matt-Bettinelli Olpin and Tyler Gillet. Scream VI is produced by Kevin Williamson, Courteney Cox, and Gary Barber. The cast involves Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers, Melissa Barrera as Sam Carpenter, Jenna Ortega as Tara Carpenter, Jasmin Savoy Brown as Mindy Meeks-Martin, Mason Gooding as Chad Meeks-Martin, Skeet Ulrich as Billy Loomis, and Roger Jackson as “The Voice”.
The Plot:
Four survivors of the Ghostface murders leave Woodsboro behind for a fresh start in New York City. However, they soon find themselves in a fight for their lives when a new killer embarks on a bloody rampage.
Positives:
One positive I have about Scream VI was how sadistic Ghostface was, this version of Ghostface wanted to take out the characters by any means necessary. The thought of not knowing who the killer in a massive city such as New York is terrifying. The chase scenes were thrilling, the kills were brutal, and the dialogue Ghostface gets gave me chills.

The second positive I have was how well the characters were done, each character was likeable, and they built up the suspense factor because you had no idea who lives or dies. I also appreciated how they subverted your expectations in this movie. I’m glad that the killer reveal wasn’t as obvious as other movies.

The final positive I have about this movie was the performances of each cast member. Each character’s dialogue felt organic and natural. The characters were as I said likeable, and I felt so sad after a certain character died. The characters left a mark in their own way in my opinion.

Negatives:
The only negative I can think of is that some scenes went by a little quick and I couldn’t process what was happening. Other than that, I think this might be one of the better horror movies to come out earlier this year (Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed them, but not as much as this). Well, I guess this is just a knit pick, I felt like some of the main characters were invincible regardless if they were stabbed multiple times.
My overall thoughts:
After watching Scream VI, I would like to see more of this world and hopefully we get a Scream VII after Hollywood sorts out whatever is going on. This movie delivered on its scares, thrills, and chills the “Scream” franchise is known for.
Where to watch Scream VI?
Paramount+
Digital retailers
Blu-Ray and DVD

Scream:What if?
Was discussing with a friend about What What If scenarios would be perfect for Scream. Here is what I'd like to see the most
What if the big fan theory that Dewey was the third killer in Scream was true and showed his true colors in Scream 3, with Jennifer as his accomplice(in this version Jennifer is someone Gale fucked over to get the Woodsboro reporter gig) and Dewey's motive is that he was the town's joke and he helped Billy and Stu so he could be seen as the hero and he killed Tatum because he couldn't stand being mocked by her and truly he had an obsessive love with SIdney and wanted her all to himself.
What if Tatum lived. What I see happening is, she gets out of the garage just before she dies a horrible death. She lost some blood, so she's woozy. She runs into Dewey and Gale. "Dewey, help" So I could foresee Dewey and Gale arriving at the party sooner and stopping Billy and Stu before things escalate to the way they do. Maybe they arrest Stu and kill Billy. Tatum lives and gets to appear in Scream 2. She, Sidney and Hallie are besties. I could see Tatum being apart of that Sorority house trying to recruit SIdney and convincing Sid to join. Tatum is very wary around Derek. But also Mickey. Mickey would kill Tatum. I can't see her surviving past 2.
What if Angelina was the second killer in Scream 3. Cutting this plotline could've fixed SO MANY things. The script also delves further into the original plan, showing she was intended to be a former classmate of Sidney from Woodsboro, originally named Angie Crick. Her motivation was stated as idolizing Sidney and wanting her fame and attention, thus taking on the role of Sidney in the third Stab film. So, proto-Jill. But I would've made her obsessed with Sidney. Make her a psycho stalker. Sending her creepy letters before she was allowed to call her as Ghostface. She wants the fame sure, but she wants to become Sidney, even if it means killing Sidney and Roman just to make it out alive.
What if Williamson's original Scream 3 happened
What if the planned Jill Scream 5 movie happened. The gist is the hospital wasn't supposed to be where the movie ended. Jill would've gotten away with it and Sidney would've been in a coma and everyone would believe in the lie that Jill crafted. Jill would be in college and her life is turned upside down. Ghostface has returned and Ghostface plans to reveal her dark secret and ruin her life. That's what we know about the original plan. Here's my idea for what it could've been. My pitch for who this Ghostface could've been? Kirby. Kirby wouldn't kill anyone. It would be like the Scream 3 script where no one was killed, they were all in on it to expose Jill and Kirby's partner? SIDNEY
What if Judy and Wes Hicks were the killers in Scream 5
The many deaths of Sidney Prescott. Basically all the times Sidney could've died. Death by the hands of Billy or Stu, by Mickey's hand, Nancy Loomis having her revenge, Roman's revenge or Jill getting away with it, Richie succeeding and finishing his movie or the Kirsch family killing everyone in New York and hunting down SIdney and killing her and her family like they threatened in the original script
What if Sidney appeared in Scream 6. Sidney had bits and pieces in the original script. A conversation with Gale and Bailey's plans on what he wanted to do to Sidney. So if Sidney did appear, I think Sidney would've came to the rescue and wound Bailey while Sam finishes the job. That's the best I could come up with
What if Tara and Amber were Ghostfaces and girlfriends. Tara's motive would be Sam left her. Her father left her. Her mother is a drunken whore and Wes was obsessed with her and the only guy she liked was stolen from her. Her life was shit and it started the moment that Sam left her. Amber was Tara's girlfriend and helped Tara with her revenge on Sam, her friends and the whole shitty hand life dealt her. But most importantly Tara just wanted Sam's love and to be apart of her life and if becoming a killer is the only way she can be close to Billy Loomis' daughter, so be it.
What if Nancy raised Sam
What if VInce Schneider was the killer instead of Richie?
What if Sidney was the killer. What if Sidney was tired of her mom being the town pariah and took matters into her own hands. She finds Maureen already dying due to her wounds at the hands of Billy. But Sidney finishes the job. When Billy thinks he's about to kill SIdney, she reveals the truth and all he can do is smile. "We're like Mickey and Mallory" When Gale thinks she's saving Sidney, Sidney kills her and then kills Stu and paints him as the killer. Billy and Sidney get away with it. Sidney kills Christina and they raise Sam together.
What if Stu is really alive and the mastermind behind the new trilogy trilogy. Okay I don't buy into this shit, but let's say for arguement sake. Stu survived. He was taken to prison and was about to be executed, only one day, another Ghostface killing spree happens and Stu pulls a Ted Bundy and decides to help because he was Ghostface and would help catch them. This goes on to Ghostfaces to ordinary murderers. And one day. Stu gets out. He develops a masterplan. Indoctrinate today's youth and turn them into a Ghostface cult. Richie would be his figurehead while he manipulates from the shadows. However one day he just HAS to act. It's Stu who kills Dewey. "It's been an honor." He decides to let Richie's family have some fun. But Scream 7 is where Stu reveals himself and his cult. His partner in this? His sister Leslie, Leslie is only in it to avenge her son, whom she blames Sam and Tara for Amber's actions. Making coordinated attacks to kill those close to the Core 4, Gale, Kirby and Sidney. When Sidney is out in the open, that's when Stu will strike.

Scream 7—The Nightmare Has Only Just Begun 🔪🌙
You can run. You can hide. But Ghostface always finds a way back. Scream 7 is creeping into theaters on February 27, 2026, with Kevin Williamson stepping in as director for the first time. This isn’t just a sequel—it’s a reckoning, a descent into something far darker than before.
🔴 Sidney Prescott Can’t Escape the Shadows Neve Campbell returns as Sidney Prescott, but this time, she isn’t just fighting for herself. She has a family now, and Ghostface never ignores fresh blood.
🔴 Stu Macher: Back from the Grave? A TV to the skull wasn’t enough to stop Matthew Lillard’s Stu Macher. But did he ever really die? Or has he been waiting for his moment to strike?
🔴 Roman Bridger’s Return—The Puppet Master Never Left Scott Foley returns as Roman Bridger, the so-called “lone” Ghostface from Scream 3. But what if his story wasn’t over? What if his original plan was only the beginning?
🔴 Who Won’t Be Picking Up the Phone? Melissa Barrera (Sam Carpenter) and Jenna Ortega (Tara Carpenter) won’t be returning, shifting Scream 7 into uncharted, bloodier waters.
Is this Sidney’s final battle, or just another twisted game she can’t escape?

Newish Comics:
Batman: The Brave and the Bold #14: I am largely uncompelled by this set, but I was amused that they had to specify "look! This Barry/Iris story takes place before we break them up! Because we want fluffy Barry/Iris!"
Also charmed that in the Black and White story at the end with flashbacks to previous events there's Bruce as Tengu in KnightsEnd! That's a bit of a deep cut I wasn't expecting.
Green Arrow #13: Williamson please learn to pace a story at some point. That said, I was very fond of seeing Roy and Lian snuggled up together, and Connor and Mia hanging out together. Also Williamson finally acknowledged Sin's existence for the first time? I think? in this comic.
I also note Williamson is on team "we like Jade" rather than on team "Jade's a villain who's done a bunch of irredeemable things" (Which. Both positions are perfectly acceptable, but does give me a bit of an 'of course you're like that' for a guy with a known tendency to prioritise biological relationships)
The plot is ridiculous but it's editorially mandated, everyone is about to go into their Stupid Eras for the next two-three months.
The Flash #10: speaking of editorially mandated storylines...I was snorting at 'make Ollie and Barry punch each other', in terms of Ollie was doing everything but shouting what his name was and Barry was going ??? mystery guy who is not Bruce.
Jai is great in this issue. Wally is busy ascending into a higher plane of existence, still, and I am waiting until his brain comes back online and the various creepy higher dimensional beings stop trying to brain wipe him and use him as conduit, as they will not enjoy him handing them their asses.
Please get Bart into a room with his friends so he can notice they're also young adults over 18 and stop reverse aging himself, he's drawn younger than Jai in this. Or actually address the plot point that Bart's currently making himself be the age he was when Max was his guardian, and what that means about their relationship.
Zatanna: Bring Down the House #1: oh this is fun. It's functioning as a Zatanna origin story, and a good reminder that Zatara is in hell.
And now a look at everyone losing their minds for the Event:
Suicide Squad Dream Team #1-4: super reluctantly reading this as lead in for Absolute Power.
I'm not sure if I'm more mad over how Amanda Waller is being villainised here or how they're characterising Lori Zechlin. Lori, what have they done to you?
As I scrutinise this, it's written by the actor who originated Nia Nal, and uh...it could use being less Nia's perspective v general Squad attitudes. It just feels very very righteous v Waller Being Evil For No Reason.
I dunno. I don't think Nicole Maines has enough experience or practice in writing for a shared property. Her Nia stuff on its own has been fine so far, but managing to write decent team dynamics for the SUICIDE SQUAD is something that takes a lot of skill and experience (given the number of strong personalities involved). It probably shouldn’t be handed to a writer who’s effectively never written a comic that doesn’t star the character she played on TV.
Absolute Power: Ground Zero #1: sigh.
This is not going to be a particularly compelling event to me.
Like hmmmmm part of me wants to point out that under a different storyline, Waller living out 20 years of peace in a virtual reality as a mother figure would be something that would affect her a lot, given her history.
Unfortunately, we are no longer in Suicide Squad 1987.
The Warlord #58: this week in Skartaris we don't see Travis at ALL. Guy who's cosplaying Travis is doing a terrible job of it, and pissing off Tara, who has been driven back into finding her childhood sweetheart Graemore attractive. We get a full retrospective of their childhood growing up together: Graemore was the son of a blacksmith and a tailor whose family were captured in warfare by Tara's father. Graemore played with Tara while his mother made swords for Shamballah and his father educated Tara. It's a very cute 'they grew up together' teen love story.
While all of this is going on Darvin the Thief goes to try and extort more money from the people on council paying him to hold Travis prisoner, and he suddenly realises where he's seen Joshua's weird bracelet before...on Tara's arm!
Surely this can only end well.
In the Arion backup, I am very slowly starting to get my head around how to fit Skartaris's ancient Atlanteans, Earth's ancient Atlanteans and modern Atlantis together. They do all come from the same group (which is what I expected) but it's definitely interesting in terms of the various interactions between magic and advanced technology.
(Now I actually need to read some more Aquaman to confirm my understanding, as it's still pretty vibes based right now)
