I just realized that Ghost Guy from the first Luigi's Mansion Game is combination of a Spear Guy, and a Boo Guy.

I also think Luigi's Mansion 1 was also the first Game where Shy Guys (or rather, Ghost Guys) were voiced by Nate Bihldorff, who's known as the Voice Actor for not just the Shy Guys, but also Fly Guys, and Snifits (I'm like 99% convinced it was Bihldorff, anyway).

Though, according to the Super Mario Wiki, Bihldorff first voiced them in Mario: Power Tennis (at least the Shy Guys, and the Fly Guys; he wouldn't voice Snifits until Paper Mario: Sticker Star).

However, I admit that their info can be subjective at time (and sometimes, inaccurate), but not always.

i love how many words we have just come from ancient greek guys and they mean what their main deal was. tantalizing? tantalus, banished to have water and food so close but never within reach. odyssey? odysseus, the guy who travelled a lot. herculean, sisyphean, platonic, there's a surprising amount of this kind of word

Time travel fix-it fic which embraces feral, op percabeth and codependent Seven+Nico. Possibly the best pjo time travel fic I’ve read

I honestly don’t know whether to be upset that it took me so long to find this one or happy that it was already complete when I did because you bet your ass i binged this whole series last night and finished it off during work today. I Love this series. It’s so well-written. The author considered so many little things that I never would have thought of, made Amazing character choices, and made me love the idea of the seafam even more.

commentary for What's In a Name?

I'm kind of weirdly emotional about Felix in that fic (well... I mean maybe that's me in general) and I remember you kind of rotating his fate in your head in the chat, but also you can talk about anything from that fic really! Whatever you want <3

Felix's alternate fate

In a world where he lived, only Clemmie drinks the poison, but the trio still find out about her poison immunity anyways. (Her poison immunity is a whole other spiel for a different day)

(Unfortunately?) this doesn't change Coriolanus' fate, and Felix still plays a part in his death. But this time around, it's a bit more hands on.

Coriolanus' death follows nearly the same set of events as What's In A Name, except this time, it takes place at Clemmie's apartment and Felix is the one that pulls the trigger.

Sometimes I imagine Felix as the ride or die friend. Except he'll take it to the extreme. (I guess he still is in the fic too...) But Felix knows of the snake incident and this poisoning attempt gone wrong is his last straw.

He's a bit older now, and who knows maybe Cleopatra had some influence here on him... but friends that slay together, stay together.

Coriolanus is the trio's second victim. Tantalus Moss was their first. Iphigenia's half-siblings are next on the list...

Some random points that I still have hanging around:

Felix admits to pulling the trigger. Both to the press and to Max.

Max is going through it. He suspects the story, but Felix refuses to budge on it.

The press sort of eat up the whole story that's been fed to them. Damsel in distress, 'Clemmie'; the dashing hero 'Felix', the distressed friend/lover 'Nia' who is simultaneously dragging Coriolanus' name through the mud while making it nearly impossible to blame Felix for his actions.

Nobody is calling for Felix to be punished.

Kind of like Coriolanus' earlier thoughts, you can't really tell if Felix and Clemmie are super close platonically or romantically. Neither can the media. But Clemmie is still with Iphigenia, and now it's sort of hard to tell if the trio are a trio romantically or not.

The story started getting a bit more convoluted than I liked, so in the end, this storyline was scrapped...

When homosexuality is involved any sort of media I will consume it like I'm Tantalus, and the gay agenda is a pool of water beneath a fruit tree with low branches, that begs to be eaten and drunken by me. But, unlike Tantalus, whos fruit is ever eluding his grasp, and the water always receding before he could take a drink, making him miserable in his hunger, I FEAST on their homosexuality and I emerge from it satisfied and full.

ok so like i get that kratos named atreus after a friend in sparta but like why did the devs pick that name.

Atreus is a very important character in mythology. Atreus is the father of Agamemnon & Menelaus. Yea, those two fucks from the Trojan War. Atreus was pretty shitty, his kids were pretty shitty, his parents were pretty shitty. His grandfather is literally Tantalus, you know, the one sentenced in Tartarus for horrible crimes. Atreus & his family do not have happy endings. The Curse of the House of Atreus? Ring any bells? The Atreides from Dune?

(and i promise this isn’t my inherent need to point out how most modern fiction somehow how relates it way back to Dune, even though most modern fiction can be traced back to Dune. Post 1965 at least.)

Really the point is: the name Atreus holds weight. So why was this name chosen? Is it tying back to breaking fate? Is this a new Atreus breaking the cycle therefore taking the place of Orestes?

Is this implying Kratos was besties with Atreus, father of Agamemnon & Menelaus? Kratos does say he was at Troy. As a Spartan he’d have fought with Menelaus. (the son of his bestie?)

side note: i asked reddit and the GoW discord about this and even saying why did the “devs” choose this name, i still got responses saying hehehe kratos tells the story in game. like no shit sherlock that literally was not the question. media literacy truly is dead. anyone thinking it’s not that deep… you’re wrong. it is. there’s no way the studio put this much effort, this much care into 2018 & ragnarök and arbitrarily picked the name “atreus” out of a hat. it’s not a random greek name. this name holds weight.

The Reapers have woken up from their slumber and have been invading the galaxy to feed on all organic life. Commander John Shepard has been resurrected after the first Normandy was attacked by Reapers and crashed on Alchera, by the terrorist organisation Cerberus to allow humanity to be the herald of victory, however he had other plans. He stole the new Normandy along with Joker and Miranda Lawson and returned it to the Alliance. He now has to race against time to piece together all the clues left by the extinct Prothean race across the Galaxy through Beacons containing their memories, to defeat the Reapers once and for all, while Cerberus is constantly on his tail. After locating a Beacon on Mars, Shepard and his crew were attacked by a Cerberus commando and a mech equipped with a biotic restraint device, resulting in Major Kaidan Alenko suffering serious injuries. As soon as they manage to return to the Citadel to get him medical care, a new Beacon has been reportedly located by a civilian on the mysterious planet of Tantalus Gamma, a human/Turian colony on the furthest edge of the Attican Traverse supervised by both Council and Alliance.
