After a long day of harsh and demanding training, Tanjiro wants nothing but to be in your presence once more. He knows you won't be back before him, so he patiently waits for you after your training.

"Y/n I'm only asking a simple favor is that you communicate with me more, I don't intend on being controlling it's just that I worry about you a lot if you're saying that I seem like I don't care or I'm too busy then you're wrong. I care about you, I care about what you're doing, what happened to you today, where did you go. I need to check up on you and I'm asking you to communicate with me more about your whereabouts." His eyes looked so sad while looking at you, tears were almost forming in his eyes

"Okay I will tanjiro." He smiles warmly at your answer and gave you

Inosuke Hasibira

“Ah you finally decided to show your face huh?” He scoffed while looking away from you, clearly pissed. Standing there in silence until he spoke up again “could’ve at least sent me a bird to tell me where you were” he mumbled angrily. “Okay I’m sorry I was about to tell you but I got sidetracked…” No response “I’m sorry” you finally admitted.

As you peaked over his shoulder he was still huffing and pouting so you deliberately offered “I bought some tempura as a peace treaty.” You can tell his eyes immediately light up hearing your offer but he wasn’t budging so you had to shove the plate of tempura at his face and he still wasn’t budging until your hand held up one tempura to his mouth and reluctantly ate. You giggled, making him grumble while still eating the tempura you offered him.

Zenitsu Agatsuma

You saw in the corner of your eye the blonde demon slayer was sulking while looking down on his feet. And as you approached him, making your presence clear to him. He exploded with epiphanies such as “WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN GOING AROUND FOR HOURS WITHOUT TELLING I WAS WORRIED SICK I ASKED EVERYBODY AROUND NONE OF THEM KNEW I WAS SO SCARED TO DEATH THINKING WHERE WERE YOU-” as you accepted his yelling and crying you noticed his cheek was bruised and asked about it. “I was…asking Inosuke where you were since you were last with him and I was yelling and scolding him and he smacked me on the cheek to calm me down…That's besides the point! Next time you're going out I'm coming with you.” He huffed with arms crossed, you chuckled and gave an apology but of course he continued pouting and sulking until you showered him with enough affection.

Tanjiro Kamado

It was, for once, a peaceful night. The fireflies dancing around the garden of Butterfly Mansion, while Tanjirou enjoyed the sweet smell of jasmine in the air.

“What are you doing out here?” Tanjiro perked up when he heard [Y/N]’s voice behind him. Soft, but still able to be heard. “You’ll catch a cold.”

“Oh, I’m ok.” He insisted, with his usual comforting smile. “I was going to head in but….” He looked down at his lap where Nezuko was resting. In her petite form almost fully in his lap as she dozed.

[Y/N] chuckled. “I suppose you’re pinned then. I’ll join you.”

They sat down beside Tanjiro. Both their feet dangling off the edge of the porch as they looked out over the garden. “Hopefully she’ll get up soon. I don’t know what it is but ever time she lays on my lap she goes right to sleep.”

“She trusts you.” Tanjiro looked up and over to [Y/N] curiously. “Plus, I’m sure it’s comfortable. Haven’t you ever taken a nap in someone’s lap before?”

“Oh. No.” He replied. Nervously scratching his cheek. If he had it had been years. Perhaps with his mother, or father, when he was much younger and certainly not a big brother. “I think it would be pretty silly.”

“It’s not silly.” [Y/N] insisted.

They then got up and adjusted so that they were sitting on their ankles behind Tanjiro, and gently patted their lap. “Come on. Try it. This way you won’t bother Nezuko either.” Tanjiro blushed and gulped a little. It was a little embarrassing, being in a position like that. It was also embarrassing on how much he wanted to try it.

Carefully he leaned back until his back was flat against the wood and his head was in their lap. He suddenly realized that the roof over the porch had little butterflies and flowers carved into it. He’d never bothered to look up, so he never noticed. It was comforting, he thought.

Very quickly Tanjiro was asleep as well, dozing off with his sister. Nezuko eventually did wake up, rubbing her eyes with tiny fists, and noticed her brother was asleep. Her big eyes turned to [Y/N], who placed their finger over their mouth in a silent shush. The little demon didn’t say anything in response. She just got up, jumped off the porch with a quiet thud, and went to chase fireflies.

Giyuu Tomioka 

A big part of being a member of the Demon Slayer Corps was traveling. Demons and evil never rested, and the ones that caused the most havoc tended to wander. The corps went where they were needed. Which could be any area in Japan.

“Why don’t you get some rest?” [Y/N] asked rhetorically as they and Giyuu bounced along in the back of a wagon. Along with lots of travel came lots of unconventional ways of getting there. Not every mission had a luxury train to get them there.

Giyu grunted, but still sat up with his arms crossed. [Y/N] sighed.

“You’d feel better.” Giyu glanced over at them from the corner of his eye. “I know when you’re tired or upset Giyu. You can’t hide it from me.”

They had been together a long time. Originally partners before they became partners. The little ticks and subtle hints in Giyu’s mood that were often lost on others were an open book to them. One that he should know by now.

“I can't sleep on hay. Makes me itchy.”

[Y/N] smiled softly, then adjusted to make their lap open & free. “Rest here then. No hay or scratchy surfaces. I won’t tell anyone you took a nap on the way.”

Giyu didn’t say anything, but [Y/N] could tell their mind was reeling about it. Eventually, he submitted and laid his head down. “Thanks.”

“Don’t thank me just yet. After you get some sleep it’s my turn.”

There was the faintest hint of a smirk on Giyu’s lips before he eventually fell asleep. Rocked there by the wagon and warm, damp smell of hay around them.

Douma

A big sigh echoed across the room as Douma heaved it out, followed by a yawn. “I’m bored.” Being a cult leader was really rather boring. All he had to do was sit here and listen to people’s problems. And since he didn’t care what happened one way or the other, to the problem or his followers, then there was really no interest to be held in the situation. He just sat here, listening to someone play the shamisen, while people brought him their problems and offerings he wouldn’t eat.

“Where’s [Y/N]?” He asked. Examining one of the many mandarins brought to him as a present, and not having the stomach to even consider eating it, before he tossed it aside. “I haven’t seen them all day.”

“It’s only noon Douma-sama.” The demon growled. He didn’t ask for the time. “But, I will find them. They were helping with the new members earlier today, so they must still be doing that.”

“New people….” To a normal cult leader that would be a good thing, but to Douma it was just another headache.

Sure, more people to choose from when he was selecting his meals, but also more people to listen to. Maybe he should make some sort of decree that the Gods asked for their silent contemplation and meditation so he didn’t have to hear them whine anymore. Yeah, that would probably work.”

“Lord Douma-sama?” The demon perked up when he heard his name and saw [Y/N]. “You wanted to see me?”

“[Y/N]-chan!” He beamed brightly as he perked up in his seat with a big grin. “I did. I wanted to see you because I missed you!”

“I’m flattered Lord Douma-sama.”

The pink in their cheeks and the subtle smell of desire made Douma’s stomach tighten in hunger. But he doesn’t want to eat them. Yet.

Once and a while he would get a favorite. No particular rhyme or reason. He would just decide to keep one of the humans as a pet, more than an hors d'oeuvre. It usually worked out well, as humans were pretty stupid and susceptible to flattery, and he was a master manipulator.

“Come sit by me. I wanted to borrow you for a moment.” [Y/N], of course, instantly came to his side and sat down. The demon giggled a little before he dramatically laid down in their lap. “Ahhhh….that’s better.”

“Is this all you wanted of me, Lord Douma-sama?”

“For now.” He replied. Eyes closed, with a cat ate the canary grin on his face. “You don’t mind, do you?”

“Of course not.” They replied, without question. “I’m happy to be of any service that brings you comfort Lord Douma-sama.”

He can smell a wave of sickly-sweet perfume coming off [Y/N] that he’s come to realize is ‘love’. Douma has never felt it, but he has smelt it before. Bombarded with the scent from his followers. Clinging to those people left behind by their lovers as he devoured one and the other fled for safety. His last favorite had the same smell, but not for him. A ‘mother’s love’ and all that. Not that he believed any of it.

“This will make me happy for now. But if I think of anything else I’ll let you know.”

“Of course Lord Douma-sama.”

The demon yawned and started to doze. Still bored, but at least mildly entertained by his new pillow. He supposed he’d have to find a new favorite soon; since this one was becoming stale and dull. For now though, this was fine.

(Giyu Tomioka) (New and Different)  (Giyu's POV) 

I remember the day I met her, she had tried to kill me, to protect her sister that turned into a demon. Then her sister even though she was starving had protected her. It was like they were different, no she was different. Tanjiro was a woman I could not get out of my mind for over two years. I would write my older master and ask about her. He gave me details about her life and I wondered if she was getting stronger, then she passed the final selection. I wondered if I would meet her again, and I did. 

It was in the mountain vs the spider demon family that was there. She had been fighting a lower moon. She did good for someone of her rank. She was skilled and very strong. She had caught me off guard when I saw her. She was out of breath and tired. Then Shinobu showed up and I felt rage rush through me.  Shinobu is going to kill My (Name's) Sister. I could not let that happen. So I fought Shinobu. She asked me why I was doing this, and I had no reason I could give her. I could not tell her that I was in love with her. The girl I just let run off with the demon. I cannot say I let this go on for years and never said a thing. 

But she was different, Tanjiro was different and I would die for her. We go through the trial and I wanted to stand up for her, and I hope that the master would see sense. She was allowed to live and the first thing I did when I finished the meeting was go to the butterfly mansion. There she was in bed. I was afraid she would have died. Watching her be roughed up by the other hashira made me piss off.  She opens her eyes and they go wide. "Giyu!" She cries out and sits up before gasping her lungs are still damaged. 

"Tanjiro," I say her name and push her hair back and she smiles at me. "I was right, you are different." You are Mine, I think to myself, she was mine, and come hell or high water I would make her mine.

These were hard months for people, for whole Demon Slayer Corps, and most of all for you and your loved one, who buried many of his combatants, many of his ‘children’. Both you and your husband knew that it was a matter of several hours before Muzan would reach your current place of residence and start wreaking havoc and murder innocent people, destroy crops and houses, and kill animals grazing in meadows or resting in stables and cowsheds. The Demon King wanted to catch both your partner and Tanjirou’s little demon sister, and you had to be prepared for that; both mentally and physically.

Your husband begged you to take your children and hide in a safe place for you (preferably underground with a supply of food and water), to run as far away as possible from the King walking towards you and forget about what has been going on for the last few months (e.g. to find someone better, someone with whom your future will be bright and peaceful). But you were stubborn, Kagaya knew it very well.

“...I’m begging you, Y/N. Just go away and live safely without me.” The blind man turned his head in your direction and you just frowned. The chirping of the last birds reached your ears, and you muttered something unintelligible under your breath.

“... Why would I leave a person who is my whole world?” You asked rhetorically and the man only sighed in response. You were really stubborn and stuck to your point. “We have lived together for many years, Kagaya. Where you go, I go. Do you remember? We promised that to each other on our wedding day.” You smiled softly, and the twenty-three-year-old seemed to sense your changing facial expressions. His heart, though it shouldn’t have, was beating faster.

“Yes, I know, my dear. But I don’t want anything bad to happen to you and kids, you need to understand that, Y/N.” He said, listening to the wind and the sound of flowing water from the tiny stream in front of your property. The rustle of leaves and bushes was also pleasant to the ear.

You moved closer to your husband and then took both of his hands in a strong grip. Kagaya obviously appreciated the gesture, and the moment you lifted his hands to your own warm lips and placed a tender kiss on both of his hands, he understood that you would not leave him, even if you go to certain deaths. It wasn’t your style, it wasn’t in your genes.

“So let’s get through this together.” He said in a low voice so as not to wake your sleeping children at home. You nodded your head, thanking him for his understanding.

“...Let us also die together.” You replied with a confident face and then hugged the man, inhaling his characteristic, pleasant smell reminiscent of old pine and fresh peonies. “Where you are, there I am.” You said, closing your eyes, dreaming of life and a world where there are no demons, death and war. About such a life where there are only you two, your offspring, laughter and love. 

It was a beautiful vision.

Here's a fun scenario!!!

Basically, maybe in the beginning of season 1 or around Part 2, Nomura accidentally finds a relic that may have belonged to a demon, their demon art being able to control time. She keeps it in the museum for storage to be taken to the Janus Order for study.

Only for A. In events of "Waka Chaka" the relic is broken or activated and the demon uses it to escape to present Arcadia. Or B. After "A Battle of Two Bridges" a museum work mistakes the relic as a display piece and puts it up, leading to the same scenario.

But not just the demon is taken to Arcadia but also the Demon Slayers the had been chasing it, being Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke.

The group is not only stuck in the modern era, but we're the land and language is so new and unfamiliar. Even more confusing is the boy in shining armor seemingly protecting some stone "demons".

That's a fun scenario to think of! I also weighted the option of time traveling but didn't think to put a demonic relic 🤔 I once thought of having Yushiro being involved in the Trollhunters stuff starting off with his drawn portrait of Tamayo being hung in the museum (because it's one of his oldest painting and he used very old and antique painting set)

Your idea will be fun to explore! I'd imagine this being set at the option B because wohoo the CHAOS there would be so so messy.

Like in Jim's POV, he suddenly sees four unknown people stumble out of nowhere in eastern clothing and brandishing swords he recognizes as katanas (and the girl doesn't seem human???) and in Tanjirou's POV, he and his friends get transported into another world in the middle of a fight and what what are those demons they don't smell like demons wait WAIT INOSUKE I DON'T THINK THEY'RE DEMONS DON'T KILL THEM YET --

But everyone probably focuses more on the fact that they're people to protect, so Tanjirou and his gang try assisting Jim and the others despite the absolute confusion and language barrier.

The way Bular and the changelings and the goblins suddenly get overpower only by the appearance of four teenagers is bewildering like these kids aren't like Jim and Toby -- they CAN and WILL take lives. This makes Jim and Toby flabbergasted too as they watch the slayers actually don't hesitate in chopping limbs and aiming for the necks.

Surprise surprise Draal manages to have a quick but informative conversation with the slayers in the middle of the fight like he suddenly speaks fluently in Japanese (Nomura let out some Japanese curses as well) and it's a huge help to the others so they can have better coordination in fighting against Bular.

Once the bridge is down and the changelings are gone off sights, Jim and Toby have to stand as a shield of sorts between their troll friends and the slayers because suddenly the katanas are all pointed towards them.

" They don't smell like a demon. " Tanjirou says. " But they are vulnerable to the sunlight as well. "

" Drop your swords! They're not dangerous! " Jim can't help but to snarl. He's exhausted. Draal just has his right arm turned into stone and the others are not left unscathed from the battle.

These new incomers are powerful -- probably the strongest humans Jim has ever seen. They are warriors, he can tell. They have experiences. He's forever thankful that these slayers are on the good side at least.

" Do you eat humans? " The question is directed to the blue troll.

" No. " Draal answers in Japanese, his breath is heavy and tired.

The slayers exchange glances. Zenitsu can tell that there's nothing but truth in their claims. Nezuko doesn't seem alarmed as well. Inosuke decides to let his comrades lead the situation next. Then, they drop down their arms to their sides.

" So, " Toby looks around at the mess, " what now? "

This can probably be a very long one shot or some chapters. I imagine the slayers have to stay in the trollmarket (with Nezuko and all) because staying together is a better option. They'd try to explain what they work as and get accustomed to the modern world.

Inosuke absolutely loves the training ground, cackling as he dodges the swinging blades and leaping over moving tiles. Everyone gets another whiplash at seeing his beautiful face. Zenitsu jumps at every second a troll walks past him but he feels safer around Aaarrrgghh (cause he thought the gentle giant could shield him from danger).

Nezuko spends most of her time sleeping. She surprises some trolls with her strength. They compare her to gnomes, and this sparks out some angry rambling from Tanjirou who keeps claiming that she's a beau.

Tanjirou offers to help Jim in terms of stamina and muscle management with total concentration breathing. Their swordsmanship is different so there's that. Blinky thinks it'd be good to have Jim battling against an opponent with different style fighting and Tanjirou is yet to be defeated. He encouraged Jim and is very humble so he gets along with everyone.

This is all I can think of for now, but this is a joy and interesting idea to think of.

Watching the last episode made me think of a scenario in which Tanjirou gets hurt by Muzan and all the Pillars (including Tengen and Kyojuro) go absolutely feral on him at the same time.

Edit: They even manage to awake their marks instantly because they're so worried about Tanjirou and desperate to protect him.

EDIT: I said I'd add more, and so I shall. I swear, the more I rewatch it, the more abserdity crosses my mind. I forgot some, so I'll add those when I remember them.

Rewatching the Mugen Train Arc, and there are a few things I noticed that I shall now share with you. I will add more as I think of them.

▪︎Rengoku's mom is hot

▪︎You will never be able to convince me we didn't see Akaza's O Face during that final attack.

▪︎Why didn't Akaza just drag Rengoku along with him to escape? All that oomf he has, and you're telling me one dude is too heavy? Nezuko can carry someone easily while in baby mode and was strong enough to curbstomp Daki, and you're telling me Akaza, Upper Three, the fourth most powerful demon in existence can't drag one guy along for the ride while bailing? I'm calling that shit hard.

▪︎Tanjirou's VA knocked this shit out of the park.

▪︎I call bullshit that Rengoku didn't activate his Demon Slayer Mark during all that.

¤ Edit: I now know why that didn't happen, so nevermind this one.

▪︎While we're on the topic of Rengoku, can I just briefly express my confusion as to his dream of choice when Enmu put him to sleep? Out of everything he could have dreamed, all the scenarios his mind could have conjured up, he chose "that one time I did something extraordinary and my dad didn't give a shit" followed by any given day of the week. Tanjirou got his family back, Zenitsu got to spend time with the girl he loved, Inosuke got to do whatever the fuck that was...and Rengoku's got an alcoholic father who doesn't give a hair on a witch's tit if his kids live or die, a mom that's still dead from illness, and last Tuesday, the Tuesday before that, and the Tuesday before that, also known as his everyday life. Why? He could have had a father that was a presentable human being again, a mother that wasn't dead or ill, a happy life...and he bypassed all of that. Just. Fucking. Why.

¤Edit: upon further thought and some amateur analysis of his psyche, the dream probably revolved more around time with his brother, or his boundless optimism making him think every day is a gift or worth celebrating or special somehow. Or maybe he just has a really bad imagination.

▪︎Rengoku just gave Enmu his first brush with heartburn.

Either Yoriichi, or as an alternative, Ume, with Gyutaro as Upper Moon One.

And in all of these scenarios, Zenitsu is Kanao's adopted demon brother. (Which, to me at least, draws interesting parallels to Ume and Gyutaro)

Being an old ahh demon can Z sense when MC has "Sinful" thoughts? I don't just mean like if they have a horny thought but also like what if they think of someone who hurt them in the past and have that impulsive "Wrathful" thought of wishing the worse on them? Maybe not mind reading but like could Z sense it like how Tanjirou in Demon Slayer can smell emotions?

Z can sense emotions, but the emotions lack context. Z can sense the emotion MC is feeling but can't sense WHY they are feeling that emotion. So if Mc gets angry, even if MC isn't outwardly showing that they are angry, Z will still be able to feel it. Z will not know what made MC angry, though. Z can be a little dense at times, so he may misinterpret emotions or look for context clues where there may be none. He is trying his best, though, so please be patient with him 😅💕

I think I mentioned before that the most likely scenarios to occur from misinterpretation would be:

If MC is turned on, and Z hasn't done anything intentional to turn MC on, he may become jealous assuming that it was someone else that MC is thinking about.

For feelings of anxiety from MC, Anxiety isn't something Z understands much as he is a creature that truly never feels shame or embarrassment, and he truly could not care less about the perception towards him that others may have. That being said, he is a bit frazzled by how intensely feelings of anxiety can affect MC in specific scenarios. His gut reaction is to just hide MC or pick them up and remove them from the area....but as you can imagine, these solutions are not always helpful. Z has a lot of self educating to do about some human feelings and emotions, and this is one of them.

If Z senses a feeling of wrath, he is on board with whatever MC wants to do. Wrath is kind of Z's M.O. so he is always willing to recommend helpful and creative 'solutions'. Anyone who has hurt MC deserves suffering as far as Z is concerned.

Tanjiro snapped out of his daze at [Y/N]’s question, realizing he had been staring off into space. Just not the space they were talking about. “Sorry [Y/N]. I got distracted.”

[Y/N] grumbled and frowned. “This is important.” They told him. “It’s not just a bunch of stars and stories. They have a practical application for navigation. When you’re out in the world on missions, this is a useful skill for being able to find your way. You can’t always follow your nose like a lost dog.”

“Sorry [Y/N]…..” Tanjiro apologized again. Hanging his head because they were right. They were trying to teach him something and he was being very inconsiderate in not paying attention.

The other demon slayer sighed. “What were you getting distracted by anyway?”

“I don’t want to say.”

“Come on.” [Y/N] urged. “I’m curious now.”

“Well….you.” They seemed surprised by his answer. So he figured he should explain further. “You just look so lively and excited when you talk about stars. It’s clear that it’s a passion for you. My world is pretty small, but you can tell that your world is miles away in the heavens. It’s really breath taking. You look even more beautiful than usual.”

[Y/N]’s face turned beet red as his confession and they turned away from him. “W-Well…who wouldn’t be excited about stars?! They’re fascinating.”

Tanjiro gave them a crescent eyed, soft smile. “You’re right. Tell me more about them. I promise I’ll pay attention this time.”

“W-Well…see that cluster of stars there? You can’t see it right now, but it’s actually apart of a bigger collection of stars called a constellation belt.”

Tanjiro sat and listened. He really tried to pay attention. But, it was hard to focus on what [Y/N] was saying and not [Y/N] themselves. He probably only got about half of it.

(Aizetsu's POV)

I was fighting her as she was protecting The Human next to her. She is so beautiful her bright red eyes shining and it made me long to look into those eyes when they do not have hatred for me!  "Sekido!" I cried out. "We have to retreat!"  "What the hell are you on about!" He snaps at me. "Kill her already!"  "Just trust me, please! It makes me sad that you do not trust me!" I tell him and he curses. 

We were able to retreat and they all glared at me. "What the hell?" Sekido demands.  "I know we all have feelings for the red-haired female demon slayer." I tell them "We should take her and make her ours."  "She is pretty hot!" Karaku agrees. 

Sekido growls. "Muzan wants us to kill her."  "Yeah... But what if we turned her into a demon?" Urogi asks. "Then she will not be able to kill Muzan and she WILL be Ours."  I nodded my head. "Let me try and persuade her first!" I say. 

"Fine, but you got one shot!" Sekido Snaps. 

We went back and I was able to get her away and pinned her to the tree. "I am sorry, but I have to show you~," I say, leaning down and kissing her neck and she struggles under me. "Please stop~ I want to show you how much I love you~"  Her body tensed and she did her best to shove me off her. 

It made me sad that she was rejecting my love~ "Do not struggle, love~" I said. "It is just making me hard for you~" 

I press my bulge against her and she feels my hardness. I look at her as she stares at me in horror.  "Forgive me, my sweet~," I tell her. "I need to make you accept my love~"  I kiss her again and knock her out, it was a low move, but I will get her out of here before another hashira gets here! I brought her to our territory and laid her down on my futon in my room. I use it for comfort since I do not need to sleep. She slowly starts to wake up, I had left her sword there so she had no way to kill me here and now. 

Her red eyes go wide. "Where am I?!" She demands of me.  "You are in our home," I tell her. "And I am sorry I had to do this, my dear, but you are safe with us."  I snap the chain onto her ankle. "What the!?" She tries to break the chain.  "It makes me sad, to chain you down, but I cannot have you leave me," I tell her. "I will get you some food, do not strain your voice, we are miles away from any other life, no one is going to come for you." 

I left the room and gripped my heart, I could not help but long for her, and I did not want to leave her side, but I needed to provide for her, to prove I was a good lover for her, and that I will be a good mate for her. I will have her, for I will not be able to handle the heartbreak!

i don't exactly have a full list of endings in mind, but they would definitely depend on the percentage of school Mysteries solved, and the depth of understanding of the various characters. maybe with one or two joke ones for fun

a few of them would be

Worst ending :

Conditions - no Mysteries are solved. no relationships have passed a certain threshold. Tanjirou steps into the haunted hallway on his own

Scenario - i mentioned it in this post before, but in short Tanjirou gets murdered by the ghost haunting the hallway. the epilogue shows him helping Senjurou (who just started high school) with directions, implying that Senjurou will be the next victim in this seemingly endless cycle of death

this ending can probably be triggered like. Extremely Early. any% speedrun strat

Not Very Good ending :

Conditions - Tanjirou doesn't step into the haunted hallway at any point

Scenario - Tanjirou and his friends make it out of high school in one piece. the epilogue shows Senjurou asking Sabito for directions, implying that while Tanjirou escaped the curse himself, things haven't changed and the hallway will keep on taking lives

can technically be triggered in any playthrough, but why would you go to the trouble of solving every Mystery and maxing out all relationships for that ?

Vase ending :

Conditions - Tanjirou goes into the art room alone at night to solve the 6th Mystery on his own

Scenario - Tanjirou gets ghost murdered and stuffed into a vase by the vengeful ghost of a failed artist

it's repeatedly mentioned not to go alone into this one, so this ending is more of a "what were you expecting ?" kinda deal

Best ending :

Conditions - all 7 Mysteries are solved fully. all relationships are maxed out. Tanjirou steps into the hallway with his friends by his side

Scenario - Tanjirou confronts the corrupted ghost responsible for the haunting and the deaths, and armed with his knowledge of the school's Mysteries and understanding of the timeline of events, realizes that the ghost was himself a student, and that the corruption was a result of his fear of being alone for all of eternity. breaking into a locked locker in a part of the hallway no one walked into in at least 50 years, Tanjirou finds the remains of the first ghost and brings him peace, putting an end to the curse

the final credits show all the ghosts finally moving on, with a smile on their face. with the end of the haunting, the hallway can finally be renovated, and the remains of all victims are found and finally get a proper funeral

now on to Tanjirou's friends ! or i guess what i've been calling "relationships" in the first part of this post. in order of appearance

Sabito

delinquent third year, never seen without his training sword or his mask. Tanjirou encounters him for the first time when Sabito throws an empty bucket at his head to stop him from walking into the haunted hallway

while a bit abrasive, Sabito deeply cares about the well-being of the other students and will give Tanjirou advice on places to avoid or go to, or on ways to get some rare items

seems to have a complicated relationship with Tomioka-sensei ?

(during his research on the school's past and the truth of the haunted hallway, Tanjirou can obtain an old picture taken at the start of Tomioka-sensei's third year of high school and figure out that Sabito died later that same year, taken by the hallway. his true purpose is to prevent other students from suffering the same fate)

Tomioka-sensei

depressed P.E. teacher and Tanjirou's homeroom teacher. met in class, because, like, yeah

distant at first, once Tanjirou shows enough assiduity in class and witnesses a tense encounter between Tomioka-sensei and Sabito, he can be slowly walked into opening up. his trust lets Tanjirou access some archives at the school library that he wouldn't be allowed to see otherwise

what on earth is it that burdens his soul so much ?

(obtaining his old school picture and showing it to Sabito lets Tanjirou learn about the circumstances of Sabito's death, and the reason why Tomioka-sensei feels responsible for it. later, Tanjirou can play messenger between the two, and finally help them both find some peace, although Sabito will not pass on until the ghost of the hallway is dealt with)

Zenitsu

overly-anxious classmate with an unfortunate crush on Tanjirou's little sister. as the class representative, he takes Tanjirou aside on the first day to ask him to take off his earrings, as they are against school regulations

his genre-aware tendencies will lead him to give Tanjirou advice on how to avoid meeting a tragic end, and he has easy access to the teachers' room thanks to his status as class rep

for some reason, he keeps asking for really rare items ?

(while helping Zenitsu deal with the bullying his older brother inflicts on him doesn't do much in terms of solving Mysteries, doing so will earn Tanjirou his undying loyalty, and he will even step into the haunted hallway with him, to what he fears is certain death, for the sake of this friendship)

Makomo

aloof and a bit of an airhead, she wears a unique, hand-crafted hair ornament at all times. Tanjirou meets her for the first time by accidentally interrupting her conversation with Sabito

Makomo has a keen interest in rumors, and is the first to mention the existence of the 7 Mysteries to Tanjirou. while it may sometimes seem like she is speaking in riddles, her guidance will be invaluable in knowing what to look for

why is she allowed to wear a custom uniform ?

(investigating the beginnings of the haunted hallway will reveal that Makomo was one of its first victims, nearly 50 years ago. she has been looking to put an end to this curse ever since, and watches over Tanjirou as he walks into the hallway in turn. pick up her precious hair ornament under a bookcase in the abandoned hallway and come back alive, and you can get a bonus post-credit scene)

Inosuke

delinquent first year, so rarely seen without his stupid horse mask that most people don't even know his face. first encountered properly while Tanjirou investigates the Mystery of the beautiful girl on the roof

initially brash (and not very bright), but with good instincts, tame him with enough food and compliments and he will be an invaluable ally in finding hidden clues and avoiding the very real dangers hidden behind the last Mysteries

the real identity of the mysterious "beautiful girl on the roof" ?

(if Tanjirou decides to investigate the Mystery of the beautiful girl on the roof further after getting Inosuke's relationship high enough, he will realize that Inosuke isn't, in fact, said beautiful girl. going to the roof again with that knowledge allows him and Inosuke to meet with the ghost of Kotoha. finally meeting with her son lets her find peace, and leads Inosuke to trust Tanjirou fully and finally max out his relationship)

Urokodaki

the old school janitor, determined to work there until his death for some reason. Makomo introduces him to Tanjirou once her relationship passes a certain threshold

befriending him is a must if Tanjirou wants to get access to locked rooms, including the school at night time. more importantly, Urokodaki has an uncanny knowledge of the supernatural that will help Tanjirou solve the later Mysteries

Makomo calls him dad, but isn't he way too old ?

(much like Tanjirou, Urokodaki can see ghosts just as well as living people, and his years of experience only pale in comparison to his love for his deceased daughter. once Tanjirou shows enough determination to solve all Mysteries and put an end to the haunting, Urokodaki will gift him with a protective charm like the one Makomo wears in her hair, unlocking a special ending if Tanjirou dies while carrying it)

Rengoku-sensei*

while not a relationship proper, history teacher Rengoku-sensei can be encountered in the library or the teachers' room at some points, and his knowledge of the school's past can help Tanjirou solve some of the Mysteries

he mentions off-handedly that Tanjirou reminds him of his little brother at multiple points
