Tangkou doll rebody 💕

The original doll proportion was this:

Which is more of a Pullip proportion. Toy Box Philosopher had a couple thorough review of the two dolls.

Tangkou was released back in 2012. It’s like a combination of Pullip’s outside and a Blythe’s inside. Her origin is a bit mysterious, since the company that made her basically went poof after this doll release.

I love her face, but I like my dolls with a taller body, so I gave her an Integrity Toys knock-off body. I had to carve a groove on the neck peg to fit her neck hole. The color match is okay, the body is just a bit darker. I’m not sure about her hands though.

I really despise the way they designed the inside of her neck area. There is a flat surface right above the neck joint space and it acts as a lever sometimes, so her neck peg is always trying to pry apart the head plates when the head is turned a certain way. And the plastic pieces at her neck hole is so thin, mine already broke off a corner. She’s more high maintenance than Blythe for modding for sure.

お人形コレクションはいろいろあるんですが

これはTangKou Dollという中国のお人形。

あまり日本で持ってる人居ないと言いますか、見てもブライスやプーリップのパクリみたいに思われるかもしれない。

確かに上記2つを合わせてカスタムしたような雰囲気あります。

どちらかと言えばアイギミック含めてプーの方に近いかも。

作りはかなりチープなんですが、メイクの吹きつけがわりと綺麗なのと、髪の量と質が思ってたよりも良くて素材は悪くないなと思いました。黒髪でもツヤツヤで手触りいい。

ただ、やっぱり作りはチープなんですよね😂

頭皮は厚みのある硬めのラバーっぽい素材でネジ止めもなく、ぱかんと簡単に外れます。

ウィッグ交換できますと説明あったけど、ウィッグを別売りしてる訳では無いので、別デザインのタンコウドールの頭皮と交換するしかないです😂

こちらは頭皮外して顔の中にあるアイギミック。

ブライスのようにカラコンの色が変わる訳ではなく、瞳の位置を左右に動かせるのと瞼を閉じることができる仕様なのでやはりプーリップに近いでしょうかね。

瞼にはレースのような模様が描かれてて、本当にカスタムでよく見かけるようなデザインになってますw

でもお顔はわりと可愛いと思うんですよねー。

口角のあがったアヒル口にアーモンド型��目。

デフォルメされた顔のアバターをキラ��ラでよく見かけますが、そんな感じで巨頭人形好きな人も割といそうな気がした。

体は関節稼働タイプで華奢なんだけど、どの人形の服が着まわせるかまだわからないw

買ってから開封はしてみたものの、巨頭人形並べるスペースもなく、保管はやはり箱に入れといた方がいいのでたまに出して来てお顔見てる感じです。

ドールはプラでできてるので紫外線に当たると劣化して黄変するので管理に気を使うし、沢山持ってても箱入りのままがうちには多いんです。

うーん、、、この赤ずきんはどうしてヒョウ柄をパイピングにしたのか😂なんで余計なものつけるのーってのは着せ替えゲーのお洋服にもありますね😂😂

中の子は金髪で瞳もグリーンだし可愛いけれども。

私が本当に欲しかったのはホワイトのボアウィッグの男の子にも見えるデザインだったんですがもうどこにも売ってなくてチャイナ服をお迎えしたんです。

eBayには新古品あったけど高いですし、私は中国のショップで通販しました。

もう5年以上前なので今でも売ってるのかわからないけれども。

Finally got around to ordering my first Blythe doll - I ordered Juliet! Romeo & Juliet may not be my favorite Shakespearean play, but Juliet's dress and all of the details (the stock dresses! the rosary! the hairnet! the crufix on her pull string!) really pulled me in.

Popmart has also gotten in on the Blythe collab action, and after ordering Juliet, I placed an order for this sweet little fairy, the "Fairy in the Forest" model. I think she's between the Middie Blythe size and the LPS Blythes. I think she will be a fun "companion" of sorts to Juliet! Further doll rambles and purchases under the cut!

Speaking of Blythe though, I recently found someone selling some Tangkou girls... sadly they didn't have the Vampire girl, but I thought the "England" model was really cute, and she was very, very affordable, so I ordered her too. Tangkou didn't produce a lot of dolls but being a pullip collector many moons ago, I always found them a curious "mix" between Blythe and Pullip. A forgotten cousin, of sorts. Speaking of Blythe... and vampires, Pullip recently mentioned a rerelease of the vampire countess Elizabeth!

I haven't preordered her just yet, but it's I will be soon. I wonder if there might a rerun of Camilla and/or Midnight Velvet? I can only hope so, they would look fantastic on my "horror doll" shelf!

Much to my chagrin, USPS never did deliver the War Story "Spirit Captain Elsa" head that I had ordered. I really had hoped she would show up eventually, but seeing as she was ordered in September and apparently held for ransom because of an alleged computer error that didn't process the ship label payment correctly, I never got to pay for her bail (even after offering to do so). It's frustrating since, while I did get refunded, I paid a little under $50 for the head and the whole figure was nearly $180-$200, and I really didn't see that much value in the rest of the outfit. It's cool, but the BBK Pirate Captain Sophia figure offers much more in her stock outfit to my tastes, and I can find her for about $150-$170 dollar ballpark. But I waited. And waited. And waited. And eventually, I found someone splitting the figure on ebay. I am still waiting for her to arrive - I am hoping she will be here sometime next week - but I paid a little under the $50 mark again. Would still be cool if the other head randomly showed up someday, but my hopes and efforts would probably be better applied elsewhere. Here is to hoping she won't be an awful match for a worldbox body, though!

One Pullip thing I did order, however... Was the Small Lady Dal. I got Princess Serenity a few years ago, but Pullipstyle is having a going out of business sale, and Mike has Small Lady (as well as a few other remaining Pullip and friend dolls) for $100. But ...make that two, since I decided to get Small Lady's... "spiritual grandmother" (I guess? lmao) too.

Still surprised we got Queen Serenity and never NeoQueen Serenity. Considering they retailed for $150+ though, I guess two for $200 shipped is a good deal and I "might as well" add Queenie for effectively $50 more than I would have paid, had I got Small Lady on a not-sale. Unfortunately Black Lady and human Luna have continued to elude me, but I'll probably eventually find them secondhand and more or less complete the "moon family" pullip dolls that I care enough to get. It's too bad we never got a pullip of Queen Beryl and Prince Endymion - I would have gladly added them onto the must-get Pullip x Sailor Moon list.

The Tangkou clothes were made before I knew how to sew properly, but I quite like this eye-hat which I think was knitted to a Pullip hat pattern. I need to get round to making them a better wardrobe. Meanwhile here is Jenny Wonderpants (Tangkou Chinese Girl) lounging around the house.

I went to a local doll meet today and a bunch of people were selling stuff (I wanted so much it was painful) but because of Christmas I have like... zero money. :( One of the people who attended had the vampire Tangkou doll they were looking to get rid of, and I LOVE tangkou dolls but they are scarce and hard to obtain nowadays. They said “make me any offer, I really just want to get rid of her” but I sadly explained that I have literally zero money right now and they just... gave her to me. I was like, “are you sure??? You don’t have too!” And they said, “Yeah, I want her to go to a good home so she is yours!”

It was so nice I almost cried.

My fertility goddess doll! Her name is Oon. You may call her Goddess Oon. She looks rather mortal right now cause of the lack of good clothes but hopefully that’ll change soon.

Made with an ICY doll head and this strange preggo Barbie body knock-off. I had to enlarge the neck hole from the ICY head to fit the preggo body neck but it worked out really well. I also prefer her with a longer body than her default shorter one.

I will be putting as many 1:100 tiny people in that egg-shaped belly because it makes the most sense, of course. I’ll also have to put a bit of makeup on her and make her some godly outfits.

Mixing doll parts is really fun.

It reminds me of Tangkou dolls... which are actually more Momoko like than I was thinking. But do have the oversized gimmick eye head thing going on. This body looks very part swapped to me. Like they were trying to use up various IT parts, or use parts but make enough changes so they wouldn’t get sued?

So, with doll lines insisting an making less articulation for hard to match skintones, I decides to try one of these mystery bodies off ebay.
