Elseworlds Addendum - Wonder Woman / Bekka

The animated feature, Justice League: Gods and Monsters, takes place in on an alternative earth parallel to that of the main DCAU.  In this universe, the role of Wonder Woman was taken up by the New God known as Bekka.  

Bekka had left New Genesis after she was forced to take part in a plot to murder the rival New Gods of Apokalips.  She was engaged to marry Orion, the son of Lord Darkseid, ruler of Apokalips; a political marriage that would fortify a peace pact between the two worlds. Although Bekka truly loved Orion, the marriage was a ruse orchestrated by Highfather so to manipulate the ruling party of Apokalips into a vulnerable position where they could be ambushed and killed.  The plan succeeded, Darkseid was killed alongside Orion and the other leaders of Apokalips.  New Genesis had won the war, yet Bekka could not abide by her role in the betrayal.  As such she fled her world and found refuge on Earth. 

Bekka would go on to become the heroic Wonder Woman and joined Hernan Guerra’s Justice League.  She came to love the Earth but was never quite able to see it as a home.  Following the resolution of a crisis, Bekka sized on the opportunity to accompany Lex Luthor on a journey throughout the cosmos in search of discovery, a sense of purpose and, hopefully, a feeling of peace.  

Actress Tamara Taylor provided the voice for Bekka with the heroine first appearing in the animated movie, Justice League: Gods and Monsters.
