also like speaking of college joe'marr....one of my favorite headcanons is like, yeah, ja'marr probably hero worshiped/had a big crush on the new hot older super talented QB....but i also think joe had a very inconvenient little crush on ja'marr

like joe said himself that thought of his time at LSU as a master's/internship type program but for football instead of any real school curriculum (lol). he had just spent 3 years at OSU /not/ playing football and it was all he wanted to do. now that he had this chance at LSU he was going to buckle up and take it as seriously as possible (he took all online classes and spent as much time as he could at the facility, living and breathing football as much as possible).

so like, he did NOT plan on getting distracted by the cute freshman with the million watt smile and easy warm nature. this kid who would try to joke with him but never try to talk with him without justin or terrace around. this kid with all this god-given talent but no clue how to actually watch film and improve from it. but hey! nothing always goes 100% to plan!

#but i mean look up college freshman baby ja'marr how could joe resist tbh??#and you know the chemistry didn't quite get there until the end of ja'marr's freshman year #the very important for the Lore fiesta bowl #(where ja'marr himself said it finally clicked for him and joe)#and then came the summer of 10000 catches!! where joe and the receivers spent all summer throwing together and going to the gym #and like they're finally getting to know each other. get slightly more comfortable with each other off the field as they thrive on the fiel #and maybe the crush isn't so inconvenient anymore because it actually comes very in handy that joe is always Aware of ja'marr #and where he is and what he's doing #is ja'marr aware that joe is always Staring at him??#well i have a HC for that as well actually lol #a very clear scene in my head of justin trying to talk to joe about something during practice #and then he realizes that joe is absolutely paying no attention to him #and instead is just watching a shirtless sweating in the louisiana heat ja'marr who's laughing with terrace across the field #and justin is like 'well. that's interesting' and messes with joe about it #and DEFINITELY brings it up to ja'marr later like 'yo i think joe wants in your pants bro'#and ja'marr thinks he's just fucking around #but DOES start to notice that yeah. joe's always staring #and he just has to add that in his 'stuff to figure out about joe's expressions' folder he has stored in his brain #ANYWAY this got long but i love thinking about college joe'marr #joe'marr #nfl rpf

as a media psychology researcher 85% of my job is figuring out the most horrifically academic way to say "you idiots wouldn't last a day on tumblr"

#my job really is turning band lore into observations that are abstract enough that we can do math about it #ADT my beloathed </3 #time for me to rant now #you have no idea how frustrating it is for the general consensus in your field of research to be so completely off-base #sometimes the way I have to talk to get other researchers to listen to me makes me feel like I'm a traitor to my own beliefs #like yes. in a -very very basic- sense we do tend to like nice people who do good things and dislike mean people who do bad things #there are traceable social-evolutionary reasons for that #but its SOOOOOOOOOO reductive. especially when it comes to fiction (and it's not even limited to that!)#my entire dissertation is probably going to sum up like 'hey uhhh maybe sometimes people like characters because they're INTERESTING'#(cue 'what do you mean 'interesting'?')#and you'd think that's so fucking obvious (it is) but it will take me literal non-metaporical -years- of research to get that point across #when am I ever going to get further down my hit list. I also need to set aside time to destroy the concept of moral purity #and don't even get me STARTED on character identification. the measures for parasocial shit are so broken we might as well just start over #don't get me wrong I love my job. Thanks so much for the ask! Sorry for the delay in reply - I've been entirely offline for two days but I'm finally back in the modern world lol 👥 Do you ever share your snz writing with other friends outside of the community?

Well...not as such, but I've shared plenty of fics with covert snzfuckery in them with vanilla readers. The thing is, I've never told anyone IRL that I have this fetish, and I have no intentions to change that. But I can very confidently say that despite me including sneezing in well over 50% of my vanilla fics (no spellings), nobody's ever even come close to noticing. I presume. Nobody's ever commented on it or asked about it, anyway. If they have wondered, they've very much kept it to themselves! A few of my snzfics have vanilla versions, actually. The situation and topic's the same, but the presentation's different. Before I first posted here, vanilla readers were all I had - a small bunch across several years, all IRL friends - and they know, or at one point used to know, my Underworld and OCs very well. If any of them ever happen to stumble across my page here, my secret's 10,000% out. And if they want to read any of my snz stuff after that, they're welcome to, but... 😂 😂 Yeah, I don't know if they'd be especially inclined lol

But no, I don't overtly share my snz porn with anyone outside snzblr, which is the only place I've ever posted my fics online at all, snz or otherwise. 💕

#the chances of any of these friends finding my blog are microscopically small but if they do #so be it - i'll confess lol #i'm talking a playing field of six or so people here #at best. and i'd say two of those six will have largely or even completely forgotten about my writing contents #for “old friends who went in different directions” and passage of time reasons #and any non-vanilla-reader friends who happen across this blog won't know the characters so...won't know it's me

the thing about british panel shows that i REALLY like, why i watch them instead of individual british stand up, is that i usually like, if i'm lucky, half the comedians on any given panel. BUT! all of the comedians on the panel ALSO only like half the comedians on the panel. and its a different set for each of them. so no matter what i will get to watch comedians i do like be mean to comedians i dont like, who are british, so they doubly deserve it. i will watch jimmy carr on purpose with great frequency so long as he gets made fun of for every single joke he makes.

#ALSO they aren't allowed to talk about whatever they like.#they must make jokes about the school field trip to the thames who found an old rifle cartridge #or boris johnson's weird hair (BBC needs 50 jokes about this daily across all their channels as per their contract w the crown)#they can't do a full 5 minutes on youth technology because it didn't make the papers today and they only get 65 seconds total per subject!!
