Jensen Ackles Appreciation Week
Con Panels
Jensen & Jared's love and loyalty and protection for each other is just heart warming. Thinking about their enduring relationship brightens my days!
Melbourne 2015 (Jared cancelled due to exhaustion) - Jensen was probably exceedingly worried and looked exhausted. His protectiveness and admiration of Jared comes through so strongly 🥹❤️
Vancon 22 (Jared had to cancel due to Covid) - Jensen was 'heartbroken' to attend an unofficial wrap party in Vancouver without Jared. He missed Jared so much that he turned his chair backwards, Jared's style, in 'honour of his boy' 😭💗

jared: my brother's a friggin'... surgeon, college athlete... i wasn't gonna try and fill those shoes! [with an accent] so i went to the theatre! um... which is a lotta fun in texas, to tell your dad, um- as your- as your brother's playing college sports, doing pre-med and engineering at the same time but you say, "dad, i'm quitting sports. i wanna be an actor." uh- that g- that goes about as well as you'd imagine. um- uh- just kidding. i'm very happy everything happened, but i feel like uh...
#sorryyy i was too lazy to closed caption it#he's told this anecdote a couple times it's clearly something he struggled with but looks back on fondly#perhaps because his parents did and does wholeheartedly support him despite that initial fear#but it makes me so giggly whenever he tells it he frames it like a softcore coming out story#i also like the acting he puts out for him pretending to be his past self telling his dad he wants to be an actor#whenever he talks about his past ambitions i always remember when he talked about missing milestones because#he was too busy working on theatre n stuff#jared padalecki

not only am i always down to kill that man. but furthermore i don’t think he’s going to give us an answer we want to hear as long as there’s an intention for more supernatural to be made. to me he can run his mouth and do whatever he wants while i kill him with hammers. but it’s not dead until it’s dead
#like personally if i were working on a continuation of a show i wouldn’t say oh yeah also we’re totally gonna talk about the confession#the fans will watch anyway and those who don’t will be drawn in by others if i execute a story well#now he may be like Nah we ain’t doing that. in which case i have hammers. but little miss superstition isn’t going to tell us things when#he didn’t even tell jared about the prequel i think lol#and this is not to give credit where it isn’t due#update: saw the full question transcript and like. what are we freaking out about ??

I may have sent an ask to the wrong person I love mobile
You probably got your answer already but genuinely amazed that u manage to avoid the actors side of stuff when it's so interlocked with the spn fandom. (There was a whole holiday for "Et tu brute"????) I thought that kind of stuff made its way onto ur dash whether u liked it or not
#youre missing out man#go watch some interviews of jared and jensen talking about the finally#where jared doesnt know jensen was on his way to buying spn#and jensens going thru a face journey when jared talks about working on future spn stuff

Can you do some headcanons for the wolfpack from twilight (all separately) about their sleeping habits and how their habits may have changed after they met their imprint (the reader)?
Best wishes and kisses
-your fav anon 💐
Wolfpack Headcanons
Author’s note: I hope this is what you meant! I’m not good at write head-canons!
Jacob Black
Before Imprinting:
• Jacob’s sleep is restless, especially after joining the pack. He often wakes in the middle of the night sweating or with his heart racing.
• His bed is messy—half the blankets on the floor, one sock off, phone still playing music.
• Sometimes he dreams about the life he wants but wakes up with the weight of everything he’s lost.
After Imprinting:
• For the first time in years, he sleeps peacefully. His imprint’s presence eases something tight in his chest.
• He sleeps close—always touching. Whether it’s a hand over their hip or his forehead against their back, he needs the contact.
• His favorite thing is waking up first and watching them breathe, warm and safe beside him.
⸻
Paul Lahote
Before Imprinting:
• Paul has trouble calming down. He can lie in bed for hours, running through memories or frustrations, fists clenched in the sheets.
• He sleeps in short, shallow bursts and often wakes with a pounding heart or clenched jaw.
• Most nights he ends up outside, pacing or sitting on the porch trying to breathe it out.
After Imprinting:
• Everything changes. His imprint is like a balm for his soul. With them beside him, his body finally relaxes.
• He falls asleep with one arm slung over them, face buried in their shoulder like it’s the only thing keeping him grounded.
• If they wake during the night, he mumbles, “You good?” without even opening his eyes—always attuned to their needs.
⸻
Embry Call
Before Imprinting:
• Embry sleeps with headphones in or TV on low—he hates silence. It reminds him of how alone he feels.
• He usually curls into himself, always on the edge of sleep but never quite at peace.
• Occasionally wakes up from dreams he can’t remember, just left with the ache of wanting someone he hasn’t met yet.
After Imprinting:
• It’s like breathing fresh air. He doesn’t even need sound anymore—just their heartbeat.
• He wraps his arm around them and fits his face in their hair, whispering things he was too shy to say in daylight.
• Sometimes he dreams about growing old with them—and wakes up smiling, holding them closer.
⸻
Quil Ateara
Before Imprinting:
• Quil’s always been a heavy sleeper, but a lonely one. He pretends to be fine, but his room’s a little too quiet.
• He sleeps curled in a nest of blankets, trying to mimic the comfort he’s missing.
• On bad nights, he lies awake thinking of Claire and how wrong it feels to be stuck in time.
After Imprinting:
• Quil turns into a human blanket. He holds his imprint like they’re the best thing that’s ever happened to him—because they are.
• Falls asleep talking to them, laughing softly, sharing little pieces of his soul he hides from others.
• Wakes up smiling, fingers tangled with theirs, as if to make sure they’re real.
⸻
Jared Cameron
Before Imprinting:
• Jared’s bed is made. His alarm’s set. He falls asleep at a decent time, but there’s no warmth to it—just routine.
• He sleeps on his side, facing the wall, arms tucked in like he’s bracing for something.
• Every once in a while, he dreams of someone he’s never met, and wakes up oddly heartbroken.
After Imprinting:
• He turns over in bed now—to face them. His walls come down slowly, quietly.
• He falls asleep later and later, not because he can’t sleep—but because he’s soaking in every second of them being there.
• He keeps one hand resting on their back or tucked under their pillow, as if memorizing their presence.
⸻
Sam Uley
Before Imprinting:
• Sam’s sleep is shallow, burdened by responsibility. He wakes often, heart tight, haunted by dreams of what he’s lost.
• Even in sleep, his body stays tense—muscles locked, jaw clenched.
• He sometimes stares at the ceiling for hours, wondering if he’ll ever feel peace.
After Imprinting:
• His imprint brings stillness. She touches his chest and he exhales like he hasn’t in years.
• They sleep close, always. Not out of need, but comfort. As if their souls are aligned even in dreams.
• If she stirs, he murmurs her name like a prayer and settles instantly when she answers.
⸻
Seth Clearwater
Before Imprinting:
• Seth is the only one who really wants to sleep. He’s a dreamer—curling into a ball, mumbling half-formed thoughts into his pillow.
• He sometimes sleeps with the lights on or a book open on his chest. He dreams in vivid color.
• Leah teases him for being a cuddler—even alone, he hugs a pillow to his chest.
After Imprinting:
• Seth lights up when they share a bed. He spoons, clings, tangles limbs—and smiles in his sleep.
• He’ll wake up just to press a sleepy kiss to their cheek and whisper “love you,” then drift off again.
• His imprint often wakes to find him already awake, just watching them with this soft, awe-filled gaze.
⸻
Leah Clearwater
Before Imprinting:
• Leah doesn’t sleep so much as collapse from exhaustion. Her nights are full of tossing and turning, angry tears, and cold sheets.
• She always wakes up alone, sore from clenching her jaw or curling too tightly into herself.
• Sleep is a battle—one she rarely wins.
After Imprinting:
• She’s hesitant at first—sharing space feels vulnerable. But over time, she starts to trust it. Trust them.
• She sleeps with her face in their neck, breathing slow and steady, one arm across their stomach.
• Her sleep becomes deeper, safer. For the first time in a long time, she stops waking up crying—and starts waking up at peace.

I’m a paul girly can u please do one where Paul is grumpy because everyone is coupled up with their imprint and his is away for college but at the bonfire the girls surprise Paul with his imprint and he goes from a mean grumpy to a clingy sweetheart make it long pls I love u💕
I love you!!!!! ❤️
Paul kicks the log that's below him. Everyone that's lined up on the cliff turns to him. "Paul, lighten up." Embry says. "Shut up." Paul growls and charges at him, pushing him into the water. "Really?" Jared looks at him. "Fuck off, Jared." Paul rolls his eyes. Paul misses you so bad. He hates when you're away.
Everyone is at Emily's. She made the pack lunch. They're all eating inside the house. Paul is quiet, eating his sandwhich. "Dude! Imagine what'd it'd be like if Jacob and Renesmee had babies? I sense new drama." Embry laughs. Paul grumbles and rolls his eyes. "Hey, me and Kim are planning. Just saying." Jared raises his hands. "Nuh, uh! You're just stupid horny." Quil shoves him. They burst into laughter. Paul just sits there. "Paul Lahote. Don't be so rude. I know it sucks, but she's coming back soon!" Emily pats his back. He moves his shoulders around, wiggling her hand off of him. "Yeah. I know." He says.
Back outside, everyone is training. Even the Black pack. Leah is laughing, and just her laughter pisses off Paul. He's keeping his cool. "Bro, if I phase right now, I'm biting your ankle." Embry playfully pushes Quil. "Kinky." Quil smirks and then phases. He didn't even bother to take off his shorts. When he phases, he accidently bumps into Paul. Paul growls, loses his cool, and phases. Quil's wolf slowly backs away. Sam is calling out to Paul to chill out. Paul disregards Sam and starts attacking Quil.
It's been like this for weeks. Leah, Kim, and Emily are the only ones that know you are coming back tonight at the bonfire tonight. Right now, you're at the airport heading back home. Being away from Paul has been hard for you. You're getting excited at the fact that when you go home, the last two years of your schooling are online! Paul knows nothing! This is going to be the best surprise. "Forks!" The lady at the desk, taking tickets for the plane entry, calls out your destination. Only two other people follow suit. They don't look familiar, so obviously, it's just their layovers.
Emily looks at Sam because Paul just snapped at Seth for no reason. "Paul. I'm about to just send your ass home if you don't stop." Paul sighs and leans back in the chair, looking at the sun as it sets. The fire is warm on his legs, but all he can think about is you. Seth, being Seth, offers Paul a plate and a drink. "Yeah. Thanks." Paul said dryly. Seth feels so bad. He's the only one willing to deal with Paul's anger. Everyone else is over it but at the same time, feel bad. "You know she'll come back." Emily says. "I've got that. But when? I don't know. And she has to go right back. And it'll be like this for another two years." Paul growls. "You know it's hard for her too. You have to support her." Leah butt's in. "Jesus, Leah. You know I support her. She's at school, right?" He looks at her. She nods her head and walks away, going to talk to Kim. It's getting unbearable for Paul. Being away from an imprint is the toughest thing for a shifter. It's been two months of texting, phone calls, and video calls. You're gone for two months, back for two weeks. It's been like that for a year now. Every time you leave, Paul gets angrier and angrier.
Kim and Leah get in the truck and drive to the airport to wait for you. You'll be back in an hour or so. Paul sees Emily smirking at him and then Sam. "What is it?" Paul asks. "Nothing." She shakes her head. Paul just sighs, and Seth comes back with a plate of steak, potatoes, and muffins. In his other hand is a glass of coke. Paul takes it and nods at Seth. Paul starts scarfing it down.
You leave the terminal and go out to the open space. People are walking around you and you're trying to catch Leah and Kim.
You: girls! I'm near the entrance.
You text them. Not even a few minutes later, Kim in the distance spots you. The two women run to you. You run to them, too. Your fully packed backpack and duffle bag on your arm are heavy and bouncing. You tackle both of the women who hold their arms open. You three laugh and just about fall over. "Let me take this!" Leah smiles, grabbing your bag. "UGH! Thank you, life saver." You gush at Leah. "God, I've missed you guys." You sigh. "Paul has been a dick, as usual. I'm literally about to snap his neck." Leah laughs. You nod your head in agreement. "I can only imagine." You reply.
You girls get to Leah's truck. You sit in the back seat while Leah drives. "Nobody questioned why we left. Not even Jared!" Kim says offended. "Them rowdy boys wouldn't notice if the sun fell on them while they're together." Leah laughs. "True!" You call out. "How's Billy?" You ask. "He's doing good. Old man can't fall over. I swear he's invincible." Leah laughs. "Yes! I try to help him do stuff around the house, but he just shooes me and Emily off." Kim says. "So, typical Billy. What about Jake and Nessie?" You ask. Leah rolls her eyes. "The guy is barely even with us. Ever since they got their house, them two have been loners. He only comes out during get-togethers, wolf shit, and bonfires." Leah replies. As she says this, a car pulls out in front of you guys. She swerves to the side, making you hit your head on the window. "Shit! Asshole!" Leah honks her horn. Kim flips them off. You lean back up in your seat. "Geez." You laugh awkwardly. "We're stopping at Paul's so you can drop off your stuff and then going to the fire." Leah says, totally disregarding that you almost died.
You guys finally make it. You can see the smoke from the fire and orange in the distance in the yard. You can see the guys running around. You squint toward the fire and see Paul sitting in a chair by himself. You giggle at his sulking. "Wait, I didn't think this far." Kim laughs. "How do we surprise him?" She turns to Leah. "I have an idea!" You lift a finger. They turn to you. "I sneak up behind him, putting my hands in front of his eyes and pull a 'guess who'." They nod together and then clap their hands. "UGH! Finally, I can breathe!" Leah breathes out. You laugh at her dramatic self. You step out of the truck. You slowly walk your way behind Paul. "I can hear you creeping, and I'm not in the mood." Paul growls. You quickly put your hands in front of his eyes. "Fuck." He growls but then stops instantly as he smells your scent. "Guess who." You whisper. He doesn't hesitate to stand up, throw the chair that's in between you, and wrap his arms around you. You hold him back and breathe in what you've missed. Paul Lahote. He's back in your arms. "Oh my fucking god, my baby." He mumbles in your hair. "I fucking love you." He says. "I love you too, Paul." You reply. Then, there's loud clapping all around. You two pull away from each other and see everyone clapping. "How'd you even get here?!" He smiles at you. Before you can even answer, he grabs your face and kisses you roughly. You kiss him back and wrap your fingers around his wrists. His lips are soft, and the kiss is longing. You fall into it, moving your lips with his. You pull away and look into your man's eyes. "Leah and Kim picked me up. All of the girls knew." You reply, your thumbs running over his knuckles. "Damn it." He smiles, chuckling. He lifts you up and spins you around. "My girl." He laughs. You laugh along with him, and he sets you down. "Alright, we get it! Now, time to share her." Emily laughs, hugging you. Paul smiles, not giving any more attitude.
You hug everyone, and Paul refuses to leave your side. You love it! Considering, you refuse to leave his, too. Now you guys are sitting around the fire. Jake and Nessie showed up. You're sitting on his lap. His arms are around your waist. He leaves random kisses on your back and arm. He randomly squeezes and presses his cheek against your back as if you could disappear any moment. Once the fire talk is over, you turn to Paul. "I don't want you to go again." He frowns. "Baby, I have good news." You smile. "What?" His eyes widen and sparkle with hope. "My physical classes are over. I'm home now. They're online." You watch as his lips part, and he slowly begins to smile. "Oh my God. YES!" He holds you. You pull his face off of your chest and kiss him softly. He doesn't instantly kiss you back. Pulling away and going back in, over and over. Everyone is leaving you two at it.
After holding onto you for a hot while, Paul decides to apologize to his pack and play around with them. You sit down on the chair, chatting with Emily. "God, Paul is back." She sighs in relief. "I know! Even on the phone, he seemed off." You giggle. Paul grabs your shoulders suddenly and then kisses your head. "Alright, back off with the boys." He does this a few more times. He runs off to play with the guys and then runs to you to give you a quick kiss before running back.
You're typing away on your laptop while Paul is still in bed sleeping. You're on the couch with your legs crossed doing some work. You open the highlighter cap and swipe it across words on the thick ass book that sits next to you. The bedroom door opens, and there stands a quiet Paul. His sleep shorts are hanging low. He yawns and scratches the back of his neck. "Good morning, my baby girl." He says in his scratchy and low morning voice. He walks over to you and presses a kiss to your forehead. "Good morning, my love." You scrunch up your nose with a smile. He looks over your neck and chuckles. "You didn't leave hickeys last night, did you?" You sighed in annoyance. "Eh, maybe I got carried away." He clicks his tongue before walking into the kitchen. "Damn it, Paul." You turn on the camera on your phone and see three big purple bruises. "Emily asked me to come over today when you go over there." You say. "Good because you were coming with anyways." He smirks, pouring his milk into his cereal. You blush and then bite your lip. "AWE, no, don't do that. You'll get what you got last night again." He winks. You roll your eyes playfully. "And don't do that either." He warns, taking a bite of his cereal.
You're mixing the batter to Emily's cake. She licks some chocolate off her finger and flips through her recipe. "Girl, this will take hours!" She sighs. "Are you nervous? I mean, it's a wedding cake! That's a lot of pressure." You continue to mix. "Nah! It's a small wedding." She shrugs it off. "Woowoo!" You hear Embry and Quil. In walks everyone, including Jacob. "Surprised you're here." Emily smirks at him. "Hey, I had to see y/n again." He laughs. You smile at him. "Well, I'm here permanently." You say. Paul walks behind the counter and puts his arm around your waist, kissing your cheek. "Normally, I'd say get the hell out of my kitchen, but I'm giving you an exception today." Emily says to Paul. "Thank you, Emily!" He smiles. "Oh wow! A thank you!" Jared jokes. Paul flips him off with a smirk. "Don't hate the love." You laugh. You place the bowl down on the counter to finish up your assignment Emily gave you for the cake. Paul huffs and pulls you back into him. "Hey!" You giggle. "Alright, lover boy, let the girl bake." Emily pats his shoulder. Paul groans and nods his head, walking toward the group of guys. "Yes, ma'am." He says. "I could really get used to this." Emily laughs. Sam nods his head, crossing his arms. "Yes, much better." He laughs. "Paul, I have to show you this new trick I can do while jumping off the cliff!" Embry says. "I saw you do that shit, dude. You looked dumb." Jacob teases. "Aye now." Quil warns and wraps an arm around Embry. "Don't be mean to my boyfriend." He glares. "WOAHHHH WOOOAHHH WOKKAHHG." Embry shoves him off. "Emily! Can I give y/n one more kiss?" He begs. "Quickly." She says, putting one of the cake pieces into the oven. He jumps up and gets behind you while you put icing on the base of the cake. He kisses your head over and over before you turn your head and kiss him softly. He smiles and then sits back down. "Alright, alright. I'm done." He says. "Lover boy!" Jacob sings. "Oh, loverboy!" Jared follows Jacob. Paul glares at them. "I'll kick your asses. I'm not joking." He growls. They start laughing. "There's the hothead!" Jared ruffles his hair. Paul grabs his hand tightly. "Ow, ow, ow." Jared laughs.

Hii! Your work is amazing!
Could you write a Reader x Paul story? The idea is that the reader is Jacob's friend, and he takes her to meet the pack. Paul has an imprint on her but keeps it a secret. Meanwhile, the reader becomes very close to the boys without knowing they are shapeshifters. At some point, they start arguing about Jacob suffering because of Bella. The reader then comforts Jacob, saying how sweet and loving he is and that he should find someone who truly loves him back. This makes Paul jealous. If it’s not too much trouble, could you make it a long story? I’ll leave the ending to your creativity—I absolutely love it!💓
heyy thank youuu 💜 and sure I would love to ! hope you enjoy :)
where do we go - paul x reader
"I can hear your stomach growling from here." Jacob pokes at you.
Nudging him, you tell him, "Just wait, yours will rumble like thunder in just one moment."
He chuckles at this and focuses back on the road with one hand on the steering wheel.
"This rides really smooth." you compliment his newly constructed ride. The rabbit he had been working on, was finally finished.
"Thanks." he says with a big smile.
Pulling up to the small but friendly looking home, you get out the car and adjust your slightly wrinkled clothes from it being pressed against the seat belt.
"Come on." he says impatiently. You wave him off, knowing that it was due to his hunger. He takes your hand and guides you into the home. You were shocked at the fact that he just opened the door and walked in like it was his own home.
A long, dark haired woman sets a platter of food in the middle of the table and looks over and smiles, "Just in time, Jacob. You brought someone." she states as she looks at you with a crinkle in her eye.
You wave with a friendly smile.
"This is Emily. Emily this is Y/N." Jacob says and you both say hi again.
"Are you hungry?" she asks.
"Hell yeah, I'm hungry." a boy says as he walks in and plops at a seat at the table.
Emily rolls her eyes and tsks, "Not you. I'm talking about Y/N." she says.
"Yes. Everything looks so good." you say and comment.
Jacob tugs your hand and sits you down next to him.
"This is Jared." Jacob tells you and you nod.
"I could've told her that." Jared replies back and this makes you smile a bit.
More people started to file into the room, conversations were thrown as people settled into their seats. They introduced themselves. You kept note of their names. Quil, Embry, Seth, and Sam.
"Where's Leah and Paul?" Sam asks as he grabs a fork.
"They said they were coming." Embry says as he wastes no time with digging in.
The door opens as you were in the middle of defending your growling stomach, Jacob tells the table how loud it was growling earlier.
You look and see a tall woman with short hair walk in with a muscle covered man.
You almost drooled at the sight of him but decided to keep your mouth occupied by chewing.
"We have company?" Leah asks as she takes a look at you and sits down with her own plate.
You both exchanged names.
"Can you hand me that?" you hear a rough voice.
"You should say please." Jacob says. You still hand it to him, you took it as an opportunity to look at this person who to you, was eye candy.
His eyes were like a spell. The talk that circled around you was muffled and didn't register in your ears as his warm fingers plucked the syrup bottle from you. His eyes went down to his own plate. You missed the sight but thought it was just a silly crush.
Paul on the other hand, didn't know how to feel. He liked the life of not being tied down. He loathed the idea of imprinting, he felt it was glamorized brainwashing. He didn't speak for the rest of the time at the table.
You and Leah wash the dishes as Emily clears the table.
"Are you going to be around more often?" Leah asks as she rinsed the cup under the warm water.
"I hope so. You guys are fun." you say with a smile.
You join the others in the living room, Jacob pats a spot next to him.
Paul did have questions. He wondered if Jacob had finally gotten over Bella Swan. He wondered if you were taking her place. He wondered how you two met. So, that's what he asked.
"How do you know Jacob?"
He didn't care how it came out, it was itching him to know. He watched closely as you looked at Jacob and giggled before saying, "Do you want to tell him or should I?"
Paul sighed softly to himself with impatience. He wanted to know the answer but you and Jacob laughed with each other as if you two shared an inside joke. Paul wanted to know how Jacob made you bubbly like that.
"Just tell him." you say, feeling nervous at Paul's intense and focused gaze.
"She used to work at a cookie shop. She would hook me up with the leftovers." Jacob shrugs.
"You still work there?" Quil asks, he wanted to be in on it.
"No, not anymore." you say while shaking your head.
"Why? He got you fired?" Paul asks again.
"No." you say in a small voice as you look to him.
"It was good while it lasted." Jacob says as he then starts to hold your hand.
"Everything can't last forever." you say to him with a small smile.
Since that day, you came over more often. You guilty started to prefer Sam and Emily's over Jacob's garage, even though you two shared great memories in such place.
Some days you would see Paul. Some days you don't. It didn’t bother you too much, you found yourself enjoying the quirks of each pack member.
You all were on the beach. You joined in on a soccer game. You had fun even though it was supposed to be competitive. Falling in the sand didn't matter to you.
You pant and sit down next to Leah, feeling tired.
"How come Paul didn't join us?" you ask. It was a nice day and everybody was in high spirits.
"Who knows." she replies.
"Oh." you say.
Paul walked the pathway to the beach. He could hear and see everyone from a distance. His ears opened as he could hear you and Leah speaking. He had conflicted emotions as seen you sitting next to her, he dreamt of you, two nights in a row.
"Is Paul antisocial or something?" you ask her.
Leah chuckles but shrugs and looks over, she sees Paul making his way to the sand covered beach.
Seth comes over and begs you both to play again. You get up as you watch Leah get up.
Paul just sat on the fallen log that distance from him and the group. He watched as you all had fun.
He didn't stay long. He found himself watching over you and he felt the spiked feeling when you looked over at him a few times.
Jacob wrapped his arm around you as he walked you back to his car. The sky was dark and you were yawning.
This time, you went over and Sam and Emily's with Leah. Walking in, you were happy to see everybody. Everyone got up and greeted you or gave you hugs.
Everyone except Jacob and Paul.
You walk over to a sulking Jacob, your face was masked with concern as he wasn't his usual sunny self.
"Hey Jake." you say softly.
"Hey." he replies back.
You didn't push it, you made sure to stay close. Paul watched as you brushed your arm against his, he secretly wanted you to do the same for whenever he was moody.
You eat some cookies that Emily had made, you offer him one. He shakes his head. You follow him out of the door and sit on the porch swing next to him.
You both sit in silence as the swing slowly rocked back and forth and the sounds of birds chirping was what filled the silence.
You look at him.
"Who did it?" you ask him. He shakes his head as he stares ahead.
"It's nothing. Really." he says. You're not convinced.
Dinner had came as you all enjoyed the cooked meal.
"Don't tell me you're still upset at that chick." Quil says as he takes a look at Jacob's slow paced eating.
"What chick? He wont tell me anything." you say as you put your utensil in your mouth.
"Bella Swan." Paul says. It was sneaky, but he didn't care.
"What did she do this time?" you ask Jacob and rub his arm.
"I just don't get it, why does she keeps pretending like she doesn't have feelings for me as well?"
"Well, how can you know for sure?" you ask.
"Come on, Y/N. The whole time her precious boyfriend was gone, she came to me for comfort. I saw the way she would look at me, let me hold her hand, and everything." Jacob says.
Embry snorts, "He still holds onto the fact that she told him he was sorta beautiful."
Snickering filled the table as they tease at the fact that he used to never shut up about it when it happened. Jacob just didn't have it in him to laugh a long with them. He genuinely felt frustrated and strung along. You didn't laugh either, you hold his hand that was resting on the table.
"I say to don't keep wasting your time on earning her love. If it was meant to be it would've happened."
"Thats the thing, it was going to happen. Had her boyfriend not come back."
"Jake, if she ran off with him at the opportunity presented, did she really love you enough?"
Jacob shrugs in defeat. You tug at his hand to get him to look at you. He does.
"Shes not the only girl in the world. As someone as sweet as you are, the right girl will come around. You're so loving and just so full of love, you will easily find someone who will love you right back. Just open your horizons." you say to him closely, you wanted him to grasp onto what you were saying.
"Is Y/N trying to shoot her shot?" Jared asks humorously.
Laughs circle around you tell him to shut up through your own laughter.
"Let me be there for him." you say as you take a look at your friend. He cheered up a bit, you didn't want him to get out of character for someone who didn't treat him to his value.
Paul didn't have an appetite anymore. He watched the interaction and felt something foreign enter his body. Jealousy. He was used to people being jealous of what he had, not the other way around.
"You don't want any more?" Emily asks Paul as he rises to empty his plate.
"I got full." he simply says. He takes a last glance as you continued to rub the back of Jacob's hand.
He goes outside and does what he does best, phase.
His mind wouldn't stop. Fantasies and realities began to mix with each other.
He huffed out through his snout as he bared his teeth at the thought of Jacob and you becoming an item.
"Paul? Did you imprint?"
Paul groaned at the distraction of his brain, not giving him a clue when Sam phased in. He shifts out and books it toward his home. He did a lot of thinking in the shower.
It shocked Emily and Sam when Paul decided to come over earlier than he usually does.
Sam gives him a look. Paul ignores him. He didn't need a pep talk, his mind was focused on one thing.
You and Jacob came in hand in hand and you both were softly talking to each other.
"Y/N."
You jump at the sound of Paul's voice saying your name. It was unexpected and you couldn't lie, you liked the way that it sounded.
"Yes?" you answer in a small voice.
"I need to talk to you." he says and steps forward.
Jacob clutched your hand tighter before moving you back a bit.
"For what?" Jacob questioned.
"I'm not talking to you." Paul coldly says.
"Jacob. It's alright." Sam speaks up and nods to Paul.
You say to Jacob, "I will be back, okay?”
He nods but you still saw the uncertainty.
You and Paul walked away from the home. You expected it to be awkward but it was comfortable. You kept glancing at him, his face was focused, as if he was thinking.
"I wont bite." he says as you two stop near a tall tree. You then saw the handsome grin that was displayed on his face.
"What's this talk about?" you ask warmly.
"I want to see you more often." he states.
"I do see you." you say.
He chuckled a bit, "No, I mean. I see you and you see me."
Your stomach drops. You had to make sure you weren't dreaming.
"W-why?" you ask, in a cracked voice.
"Never mind. I will back off if you and Jacob are a thing." he says.
"No!" you say louder than meant, "I mean.. Me and Jacob, we're just friends."
"The way you were talking to him, I would've thought you had a crush on him." he says in a somewhat teasing tone.
You shake your head, "I just really care for him. People who are in my life mean a lot to me." you say.
He nods.
You bring your own smile.
I mean. You're sort of beautiful." you say in a small voice. The look he gave you almost made your knees buckle.
"Sort of?" he asks.
You playfully roll your eyes a bit as you then look down, "You know what I mean." you whisper.
"So, where do we go from here?" you then ask.
"Wherever you want." he simply says.
As you two walk, he didn't want to tell you the imprint. He kept picturing the crash that would come down on your world once he tells you that you would be bound forever to someone like him.
You come back in and Jacob immediately, is in your face, this makes you laugh.
"I'm still alive, Jake. Calm down." you laugh. He just hugs you. Paul ignored the narrowed eyes that were darted his way.
You didn't come over on this particular day. You and Emily decided to spend the day together.
Jacob confronts Paul.
"Whatever you're thinking about doing, think again."
"Or what?" Paul simply asks.
Jacob steps forward, "Stay away from her. She doesn't need to be tainted by you."
Paul steps forward as well, "Or what?" he asks again. It was one thing for him to think it in his own head, it was another thing for someone to say it directly to him.
"You will see." Jacob states and walks off.
Paul shakes his head at the younger boy, he was in for a surprise.
You come into the home with Emily, Paul stayed hoping to run into you.
"Where's Jake?" you ask Sam who was moving towards Emily.
"Billy called him to come home." he states.
"Oh." you say. Before you could fully tun your body fully around, you heard, "You're not going to stay?"
Paul looked right you, expecting an answer.
You shrug. You watch him scoot over in the sofa, leaving some room for you to clearly sit down.
You slowly walk and have a seat.
He gets comfortable and doesn't care that his arm brushed against you. To be honest, you didn't care either.
Your mind was in a daze as it constantly thought how nice it was to be around Paul.
"Did you hear me?"
You look up.
"You weren't listening?" Jacob asks with a wrench in his hand.
"Sorry." you say whispering and shaking your head a bit.
"Are you alright?" he asks.
"Yeah. I'm just distracted that's all."
Jacob sighs a bit and suggests something, "Lets walk around or something. You've been cooped up in here with me."
You chuckle and rise up. The rain had stopped, leaving the air to be humid.
You soon find out that Jacob had been taking it one day at a time.
"You wont get over her overnight but, at least it's something." you say and take his hand to comfort him.
"I know." he says.
You noticed his walking slowing down. It wasn't until you looked ahead and your heart started to work extra hard to beat.
You see Paul's eyes flicker down to you and Jacob's conjoined hands.
You loosen your grip and put your hand behind your back. Paul is amused at this and even more amused at the somewhat hurt look on Jacob's face.
"Can we help you?" Jacob asks in an irritated tone.
You give him a look to tell him to chill out.
Paul doesn't seem effected by Jacob's cruel tone, just putting his eyes back onto you.
"How are you?"
"I'm good. You?" you say back.
"Better." he answers back.
"Come on, Y/N." Jacob says as he tugs your hand. You look over your shoulder to see Paul standing, looking at you as well as you walked away.
"What was that?" you ask Jacob as distance is great.
"You can't get close with him, Y/N." he says.
"Why not?" you ask.
"He's bad news." he says.
"Jake, that's not fair. I've been getting close with everyone."
"Just. Not him, okay? Please. You trust me right?" he presses.
"Yes. I trust you." you say and you seen the relief that washed over his face.
You stuffed your hands in your pocket as you watched the waves. You had agreed to go to the beach with Seth and Leah.
Seth picks up a stick, a worm was on it.
"Look, Y/N." he says with a smile, bringing the stick closer.
You squealed a bit, the worm looked nasty.
"Seth, Jesus. Leave her alone." Leah says.
Seth directs the stick in her direction, on the verge of laughing. Leah jumps back, "Seth, I swear!"
He continues his teasing as both you and Leah run a bit to get away from Seth who held the power to make you and Leah squirm.
You bump hard into something to the point, you emit an, "Oof."
Two strong hands hold your arms up, you don't even know what the wet sand felt like. You were grateful.
You look up to see Paul's face staring down at you.
"Sorry." you say and step back as if he was flaming fire. His face flashed a quick look of pining.
You turn around seen the stick on the ground and Leah has Seth in a headlock.
"Not so funny is it?" Leah says with a smirk.
"Lee I'm sorry. Come on, you have to admit that it was funny." Seth says.
"It will be funny if I make you eat this worm." Leah says.
You felt a hot hand touch your arm to make you turn back around.
"I haven't seen you around in a while." he says.
You shrug.
"You think I have germs or something?" he asks as he follows you on a large rock to sit on.
Softly chuckling, "No."
"Then what is it?" he asks lowly, his face was nicely placed close to your face. You didn't have to look over or up much, to see his face.
"I don't know." you whisper.
"Liar." he whispered back.
"Y/N, are you eating dinner with us?" Leah calls over, both herself and Seth looked ready to leave.
"I will feed you. If you want." Paul offers to you, only you could hear.
"Um.." you say to him and call back to Leah, "Sure."
You rise up. Paul's heart drops down.
"Getting cuddly with Lahote?" Leah asks you as you and her were in the bathroom taking turns to wash hands.
"It's nothing." you say.
"Sure." she says sarcastically.
Her mother, Sue, had good cooking. You made sure to compliment it and shes flattered.
Leah persuades you to spend the night.
You go with her and Seth in the morning to Sam's for breakfast.
You notice Paul wasn't there. Jacob engulfs you into a hug. You felt the difference in the room. You couldn't put your finger on it, his absence was very noticeable.
Emily wraps a plate as the boys teased each other in the living room.
"Who's that for?"
"This was for Paul. I was going to drop it off for him." she answers.
Before you knew what you were doing, your mouth opens, "I can-" you close it back.
Emily looks to you. "What were you going to say?"
"I can drop it off... If you want." you ask in a small voice.
"Okay!" she says and gives you the directions to his home.
You left before Jacob would notice you leaving. You still took small steps as you got closer to Paul's home. Your heart pounded so hard out for your chest.
The pounds weren't louder than the bang on the door you made from your knuckles. You clutched onto the plate that was under your finger's grip.
The door opened to a mouthwatering sight.
A shirtless Paul slowly pries the plate from your hands. He takes one finger to close your slightly opened mouth.
He chuckled as you regain your common sense.
"Tell Emily I said thank you."
You nod and go to turn, a warm hand jets out to you to turn you back around.
"You don't have to tell her right at this second." he says.
He opens the door wider, silently inviting you in.
You sit at his not so big table, as he eats.
"How come you didn't come over?" you ask.
"I don't know." he says.
"Liar." you whisper. A dark chuckle forms in his throat. He looks at you for some time with an amused look.
You look down as your cheeks feel hot. You heard him whisper something else.
"Pretty."
You then feel a soft brush on your cheek. Looking, you see it was the back of his finger. You felt sure. He felt sure. You didn't know how to explain it, it felt like this moment was always meant to be.

She's My Witch
Summary: visiting Luke at the lake house, and one of his neighbors isn't quite fond of your witchy ways
Pairing: Luke Hughes x witch!fem!reader
Warning: witchcraft, protective Luke, neighbor being an asshole, celebrating Litha, talking about sex (that's it), lightly proofread, grammar and punctuation mistakes.
Note: Somehow, you convinced Luke to wear a flower crown.
Also, this is super long.
Materialist
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Luke was staring at the driveway through the living room window, waiting for your Uber driver to pull up. Luke wanted to pick you up at the airport, but you said no because you were nervous about his shoulder.
Their neighbor and friend, Jared noticed Luke who looked like a dog waiting for their owner to return. Jared turned his attention back to the video game he was playing with Jack and Quinn.
“What’s he doing?” Jared wondered, and the two brothers rolled their eyes when they glanced at their little brother, “Waiting for his girlfriend,” Jack answered, “He’s been staring at the window since he booked her ticket,” Quinn added.
Luke threw them a fake laugh, “You’re pussy-whipped” Jack chirped. Luke rolled his eyes, fiddling with the lover's tarot card necklace you gave him. The last time you saw Luke was over winter break, and sure, you guys are always FaceTiming each other, but it wasn’t the same.
“So what fun things are you two going to get at?” Jared asked.
Jared's parents' lake house was a few houses down, and they had owned it for a few years. He quickly became friends with the Hughes brothers.
“We’re going to celebrate Litha,” Luke explained with a smile, his eyes still glued to the window. Jared knit his eyebrows “What the fuck is Litha” Jared mumbled to Quinn “It’s a pagan holiday” Quinn explained pausing the game; just in case “Oh…” Jared mumbled, shifting in his spot on the couch.
Quinn and Jack obviously knew you were a witch; again, you’re not hiding it. They don’t care, they only care that you make Luke happy. Over time, Quinn and Jack started to see you as their little sister. You also give them tarot readings when they ask.
Jack and Quinn were glad that Luke was too busy looking for you to hear this bullshit.
“Is that a problem?” Jack asked, his tone becoming dark. “No…” Jared whispered, growing nervous at the older Hughes brothers' deathly glare.
Luke perked up, “She’s here!” He exclaimed, running out the front door. The two brothers gave Jared a warning look before going out the door to greet you.
You grabbed your duffle from the Uber’s trunk when you heard a familiar voice screaming “ANGEL!”, causing a grin to appear on your face. You close the trunk before running towards your boyfriend.
Luke wrapped his good arm around your neck and tucked you into his side. “I’ve missed you so much, pet!” You stated, carefully wrapping your arms around his waist, trying not to touch the sling.
You tug on his shirt, pulling Luke down to your eye level. “My pet!” You squealed, littering his face with kisses. Luke couldn’t help but laugh.
When you finally pulled away, Luke took your bag from you and threw it on his good shoulder. Your eyes widened.
“NO!” you shouted, trying to grab your bag back. “Angel, stop. I got it.” “Did you forget that you’re injured?!” “I’m fine, promise.”
Luke pulled out his puppy eyes and pursed lips, knowing it’s your weakness. “Fine,” you muttered, letting go of the bag. Luke smiled.
You hugged Quinn and Jack when the two of you met them at the door.
When you pulled away, you noticed Jared. You backed into Luke, not liking Jared’s energy. Luke rubbed your back. “Hi,” you gave Jared a small smile, “hi,” Jared muttered.
Luke shot his friend a warning look. Luke guided you into the lake house, telling you the fun activities he had planned for the next two weeks.
Jack and Quinn glared at their friend. “Stop,” Jack warned before heading inside. Jared knit his eyebrows together. “What?” Jared asked, looking at Quinn, who shook his head while heading inside. Jared followed them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next day, Quinn, Jared, and Jack were getting the boat ready.
You sat on the living room floor before the coffee table, doing a tarot reading for yourself. You're not the controlling girlfriend and tell Luke who he can be friends with. Though you couldn’t shake off the energy Jared had when you interacted with him. That’s when you decided to consult the cards. The cards weren’t holding back; she basically told you that he was horrible.
You could live with the fact that Jared doesn’t like you because you are a witch. You’ve gotten used to people not liking you because of your practice. You would’ve put someone like Jared in his place, but he was Luke’s friend, and you wanted a nice visit with your boyfriend.
Luke (who was sitting behind you) was admiring you doing your witchy things. Happy that you were here instead of over the phone.
Jared entered the living room, you still felt the negative energy.
“Whaaaat is happening?” Jared wondered, eyeing the cards in your hand. You set the deck down, “tarot,” you muttered.
Luke noticed the tone in your voice.
“Hocus Pocus?” Jared wondered, eyeing the tarot box, Luke nodded, “Yeah, I got it for her birthday.” Luke smiled, remembering how happy you were when he gave it to you. “How fitting,” Jared grumbled, grabbing the deck and examining them. Luke furrowed his brows. “Dude-” “I can hear the demons,” Jared mocked, holding the deck to his ear.
Luke stood up. “Stop,” Luke warned, snatching the deck out of his hands. “I was kidding,” Jared explained, rolling his eyes. “Is there a reason you're here?” Luke sassed, his eyes throwing daggers at his so-called friend. “Quinn wanted me to tell you that the boat is ready,” Jared explained before heading outside.
Luke handed you back your cards. You quickly cleaned up. “I’m sorry, angel.” “It’s fine, Luke.”
Luke felt anger bubbling in his chest; nothing about that was okay.
Luke helped you up.
“I’m used to this.” “You shouldn’t be. He had no right-” “I love that you care, but I’m fine. It’s just one stupid comment. Just let it go.”
You pulled your best puppy eyes on Luke, “FFFFFine,” Luke grumbled, slumping his shoulder. You smiled, “Thank you, Pet.” You pulled Luke into a lingering kiss.
When you pulled away, Luke placed a delicate kiss on your forehead. As his way of saying that he has your back and he won’t kick Jared’s ass.
Luke took off his Yankees cap and placed it on your head, You smiled happily that he’s letting his curls breathe.
Luke laced your fingers together. “When we get outside, can you put sunscreen on my back?” “Of course, pet.” “Can you put sigils too? I don’t want to get sunburned.” “Of course, pet.” “The last one I had sucked ass” “I know, Pet.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You gripped Luke’s hand tightly as you entered Jared’s lake house. You felt the bad energy all around. Luke leaned down, his lips brushing against your ear, “What’s wrong?” Luke wondered. You looked at him, not wanting to start anything “Nothing” you told. Luke didn’t buy it he knew you better than you knew yourself, “Promise,” you added, throwing a bright smile.
Before Luke could press, Jared appeared, “Glad you guys can make it.” He smiled at the brothers, completely ignoring your existence. Jared led you guys to the backyard, where you were greeted by Jared’s family and friends. They were all much friendlier than him which made you wonder why they chose to associate with someone who sucks ass.
You and the brothers made your way to the picnic table that was in the shade. You and Luke sat on one side while Quinn and Jack sat on the other side. You all were chatting about random things, Luke placed his hand on your thigh giving it a little squeeze every now and then.
The laughter died down when Jared squeezed between Quinn and Jack. Luke told his older brothers about what happened the other day, and they thought Jared was in the wrong. So they talked to Jared and he ‘apologized’ to you; It was a shitty one and you knew he didn’t mean it but whatever can get you through the next two weeks.
“I’m grabbing a beer,” Jack announced, getting up. Quinn quickly got up, “me too” he muttered, he looked at you and Luke “beer and a white claw?” Quinn wondered, you both nodded. The two older brothers walked towards the cooler that was sitting next to the table that had a variety of fruits.
You didn’t know which was making you more anxious the awkward tension or the hint of rage in Luke’s eyes. You played with Luke’s fingers that rest on your thigh to settle your nerves. Luke gaze softened when he looked at you, he leaned down “I can tell him to leave” Luke murmured his hot breath making you shiver. You didn’t want to cause a scene so you shook your head, Luke placed a kiss on your temple.
Jared rolled his eyes “Are White Claws alright for you, (Y/N)?” Jared asked, you looked at the guy in front of you trying to ignore how he said your name with disgust “White claws are good, thank you” You smiled, Jared nodded “Good. Next time I’ll make sure to have some childrens souls on tap for you. I know witches like that shit” Jared’s voice lace with venom, his eyes throwing daggers at you.
Before you could even laugh it off, Luke already opened his mouth “Knock that shit off” Luke warned, Jared knit his eyebrows together “It was just a joke, lighten up Hughesy” Jared laughed but you both knew he wasn’t kidding. Luke wasn’t having it “It’s not funny” Luke told, you squeezed Luke’s arm to defuse the situation.
Jared stood up, “Clearly you can’t take a joke, so I’m gonna go,” Jared announced before walking towards another group of people.
Jack and Quinn finally came back “Sorry, one of Jared’s cousins was hitting on Quinn” Jack laughed sitting down. Quinn being attentive as he was noticed Luke being off “What?” Quinn wondered placing both yours and Luke’s drink in front of you. Jared’s comment played on a loop in Luke’s mind. “It’s nothing.” “It’s not nothing, Angel.” “It was just a stupid comment.” “You eating children’s souls, is a stupid comment?” “Yes” Before Jack or Quinn could give their opinion, they were on Luke’s side, and Jared’s dad announced that the food was ready. You sighed not wanting to argue with your boyfriend “Just let it go, okay?” You asked giving him your puppy eyes once again, it took him a minute longer than usual before muttering out “Fine”. You smiled and placed a chaste kiss to his cheek.
You stood up “I’ll grab your food when I get up there” You explained to your boyfriend, Luke noticed Jared was the last one in line causing his heart to sink a little. “No, I’ll come-” “Don’t be silly. You’re injured”
You kissed the top of his head before heading off. Luke felt like he couldn’t breath, he looked at his brothers “Can you-” “Yeah” Quinn nodded.
Jack and Quinn rushed towards you, ready to defend their sister from any more of Jared’s or anyone else’s comments
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You looked outside and found Quinn and Jack playing basketball with Jared; Luke was sitting on the sideline in a folding Adirondack chair. You noticed the boys who were playing basketball were moving at a sluggish pace after going at it nonstop, so you decided to bring them some sun water to hydrate them and to give them energy.
Luke made Jared apologize again, and it was still unreal, but it’s whatever.
You walked towards the boys, carrying a tray of sun water. The closer you approached them, the bigger your smile grew; you knew Luke and his brothers loved Sun and Moon Water.
“I thought you guys might be thirsty,” you announced. The Hughes brothers cheered and ran towards you. The brothers looked at you with an exciting twinkle in their eyes. “It’s sun water. You guys looked like you needed some energy.” You smiled, presenting the tray to the boys in front of you.
The Hughes brothers were fighting over the glasses as if you didn’t bring out enough for all of them. Luke gave you the toothiest grin. “You’re the best, angel,” Luke mumbled, pecking your cheek. Jack and Quinn mumbled a thank you.
Jared looked at the water with disgust “What the fuck is sun water?” Jared grumbled. You looked at Jared. “Water that has been infused with the sun’s energy. Wanna try some?” You smiled, offering him the last glass. Jared glared at you. “With the sun’s energy,” he mocked, rolling his eyes. You lowered your head, sighing, hoping the guys would let it go, but you forgot that the Hughes brothers are known for their sass and no filter.
“What the fuck is your problem?” Luke spat, glaring at Jared. “She’s just being nice,” Jack sassed. “You could’ve just said no,” Quinn added.
“Guys, you really don't-” but all three guard dogs wouldn’t stop. Luke glared at Jared, the guy he no longer considered his friend. “What the fuck is wrong with you?! Just leave her alone!” Luke yelled, his eyes full of rage.
Jared rolled his eyes. “Whatever, man, let’s go back to playing.” Jared sighed, Luke shook his head “No, I don’t hang out with guys who are comeplete dicks to my girlfriend” Luke stated. You stood there feeling like your body was on fire from watching Luke defend you.
Luke faced you. “Come on, angel,” Luke mumbled snapping you out of your trance. Luke sent Jared one more glare before ushering you back inside.
Once inside the kitchen, you glanced up at Luke. “You didn’t need to do that, pet.” You reassured, placing the tray down, Luke shook his head, “Yes, I did, angel.” Luke told you, and you shook your head. 'He’s your friend-” “He’s not my friend. No one who disrespects my girl is my friend,” Luke stated, making your heart flutter.
You couldn’t deny it, you loved sweet and gentle Luke, but something about Angry and protective Luke made your knees grow weak.
You placed a chaste kiss on Luke’s cheek. “Thank you, though. It was hot watching you defend me” You grinned at Luke who was blushing “You know I’ll always defend you, angel” Luke reassures, causing your heart to skip a beat. You pulled in a passionate kiss.
You pulled away, Luke chased your lips. “Seriously, pet. It was hot. If you weren’t injured I would take you right here” You smirked, Luke threw his head back “Don’t remind me!” he whined causing you to laugh.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jared entered the kitchen, grabbing his video game he had left there where he found Luke packing food in a picnic basket. Luke was wearing a baby blue button-down, khakis, and his beat-up Air Force sneakers. What got Jared’s attention was what Luke was wearing on his head. All he saw were roses, daisies, and elderflower wrapped around Luke’s head.
“What the hell is on your head?”
“Flower crown,” Luke sharply answered, ignoring his once-friend’s glare. “Oh, for Litha,” Jared muttered, sipping water.
Luke felt his blood start to boil, remembering all those stupid remarks Jared had been making about you just because you are on a different spiritual path than he was.
“So where is…she?”
Luke’s grip tightened around the apple in his hand, almost crushing it. Luke was disgusted that Jared made it sound like you were just some girl who belonged in the gutter.
But you weren’t just some girl. You were his girl. His heart. His future wife. His Angel.
“Running some errands,” Luke muttered, placing the damaged fruit into the basket.
Luke tried to let it go for you, he really did. Then Jared opened his stupid mouth again.
“She should be burned just like the rest of them.”
Luke wasn’t sure if that was supposed to be an inside thought for Jared, but Luke didn’t care.
All Luke saw was red.
Luke grabbed Jared by his shirt and slammed him into a wall. Jared's eyes widened, completely shocked at the youngest Hughes boy's action.
Honestly, how did Jared think he was going to react?
“Watch your fucking mouth” Luke warned, his grip tightening.
“Luke,” Jared’s voice wavered.
“You can’t come into my home and shit on my girlfriend”
“But she’s a witch,”
“She’s my Witch”
Jared’s voice got caught in his throat. “If I ever catch you saying that shit about her- I don’t care about my shoulder- I will hunt you down” Luke warned, watching Jared grow pale with glee.
Luke wished his shoulder would magically heal so he would have a free hand to beat the shit out of this guy.
Luke shoved Jared in the direction of the front door. “Get out and stay out!” Luke shouted, pointing towards the door.
Quinn and Jack entered the kitchen, the laughing died down when they felt the tension.
Jared slammed the door on his way out.
“Lukey?” Quinn called
Luke faced his brothers. “He’s not welcome here”, Luke gritted through his teeth, passing by his brothers and heading towards his room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You felt the negative energy when you entered the house. Your heart raced at the thought that Luke wasn’t safe.
As if he felt your distress, he came jogging towards you and pulled you into a bear hug. He rocked you side to side. “Hi,” you giggled, rubbing his back. “Hi,” Luke mumbled, pressing a soft kiss into your temple.
“You okay?” you wondered, pulling away to study his face. Luke nodded, he was feeling more at ease since Jared.
“Yeah, just missed you.”
“I’ve only been gone for forty minutes.”
“That was forty minutes too long.”
“Sorry, apparently every store I went to was out of roses.”
Luke gave you a soft smile. “You sure you’re okay?” You wondered, gazing into his heart eyes. “Yeah. I-I just really, really love you, angel.” Luke stated gently, his eyes looking at you head to toe as if his brain bank could forget every feature of you. Luke’s smile widened when you saw you wearing his favorite baby blue sun dress.
When you added the roses to your crown, Luke wrapped his strong arm around you, placed loving small kisses on any part of your skin he could get access to. Inbetween each kiss Luke would mumble I love you like a mantra.
When you finished, you presented your flower crown to Luke giving him a bright smile “beautiful just like you” Luke smiled before turning you around and crashing his lips onto yours pouring all his love and devotion into it.
When he pulled away he took the flower crown out of your hands and placed it on your head, “I love you so much, angel. I promise that no one is going to be rude to you ever. Not while I’m here” Luke proclaimed. You felt your heart swell “Aw, pet.” you smiled.
Then your brain started to put pieces together.
Luke saying that
Negative energy
Your smile fell “Did he say something else?” you wondered, you could see the gears turning in Luke’s head(trying to decide whether or not to tell you). Luke nodded “But don’t worry about him, angel. He’s never coming back” Luke reassured with smile. You felt guilt weigh on your heart “Pet, you didn’t have to do that. He was your friend” You assured, Luke cupped your cheek shushing you. Luke gazed deeply into your eyes, you melt into his touch “Angel, I don’t care if I stop talking to all of my friends. You are the only person that matters to me” Luke stated, you smiled.
Luke placed a kiss on your forehead “Angel, I love your witchy ways. It what makes you-you. And I love you…I love you so fucking much” Luke smiled. Your heart could burst from all your love for Luke “I love you so fucking much pet” you reminded pulling him into a passionate kiss.
There was never a doubt in your mind that Luke was your forever person. He is your soulmate in this life and every life after that. The two of you were bound to each other, like the moon is to the tides.
Luke pulled away. “You ready?” Luke smiled, picking up the picnic basket, You picked up the blanket “Yes,” You smiled. The two of you headed into the woods, ready to celebrate Litha with the man you were madly in love with.

Second Chances - Part Two

Paul Lahote x Reader
Summary: Something is keeping Paul Lahote from giving in completely to the imprinting bond and somehow I’m the last person on the reservation to know why.
Warnings: angst and curse words (my favorite)
Notes: the way I’m laying in bed trying to be strategic with this angst
Word Count: 1,220

Part One
Paul
“She’ll be here, don’t worry.” I suppose Jared wouldn’t be my best friend if he couldn’t read my mind outside of our much larger altered forms.
“I wasn’t worried.” Long shot, but I go for the bluff anyways. I busy myself with digging through the beer cooler, not that these do anything besides take the edge off.
“Yeah and those tremors aren’t from your wolf.” My gaze shoots to his at the observation, I snap the lid closed.
Fuck. “Mind your own business.” I roll my eyes and scan everyone near the fire.
“You are my business, brother.” Jared pats me on the shoulder before walking away, his eyes set on his imprint.
Mine? Currently not at our weekly pack bonfire. Hasn’t been for the last two weekends, not since… not since we blew up at each other after one of her failed dates.
Two weeks without seeing her, too goddamn long.
It’s a bigger turn out this weekend, the elders are here along with more extended family; most of which are huddled close to the fire. Meanwhile majority of the boys are gathered off to the side, grumbling about the latest res gossip like we don’t all share the same wolf brain.
“I can hear you thinking from across the bonfire.” Beer in hand, Sam sidles up next to me.
“I’m tired of thinking, I just want to shut it off.” Sighing, I tuck my chin and try to focus on calming the tremble in my hands from where they’re stuffed in my jacket hoodie.
“Just talk to her.” His quiet encouragement immediately raises my hackles, he doesn’t fucking get it.
“Easy for you to say.” I try to keep the attitude from my tone and fail miserably.
“I know what it’s like-”
Ice pours down my spine. “The fuck you do, Sam.”
“You’re right, I’m sorry-” his tired sigh throws a little bit of water on my anger. “I hate seeing you like this.”
Sam isn’t a man of many words, but somehow those words carry a lot of weight. Weight that makes me feel like an asshole. “Sam-”
“She’s here.”
Two words and my head is snapping towards the parking lot situated close to our spot on the beach so fast that I make myself a little dizzy. I frantically search for her familiar figure while my stomach leaps into my throat before I finally spot her standing near Emily.
My girl, she’s here. My blood feels like it’s thundering through my veins, fuck I missed her.
“You need to go say hi.” I ignore Sam’s unsolicited advice, the last thing she wants is to see my ugly mug.
Not even a second later, her eyes snap to mine and just like that, the tremors I’ve been dealing with all week vanish.
Once again my gravity is back, anchoring me, calming my racing pulse.
“Paul-” scolding me like only an older brother could do.
“Sam.” I turn to look at him, “you sat beside me that night, you know why I can’t.”
“It’s also the same exact reason you should, brother.” His stare turns pleading, but the logic tugs painfully at my heart.
I shake my head and his look turns disappointed, “I can’t go there, not again.”
“Again? Paul, that’s not all that’s meant for you-” he steps closer, conviction ringing in his voice.
“The unthinkable happened and then she came along, you think I should just move on and-”
“Yes-”
“Well I fucking can’t.” I can feel my eyes start to burn. Blinking rapidly, I turn back towards the fire. “I can’t forget what happened, I can’t just ignore what the ancestors did to her-to me-”
“I’m not asking you to forget or anything remotely close to that. None of us have forgotten, you know that. We are all right here with you every step of the way, but brother-” his hand lands on my shoulder, “you can’t ignore what you have right in front of you, what you’ve been blessed with.”
I stop breathing.
I know he’s right.
The ancestors, for some reason, have given me another shot. A second chance.
A second chance that I’m completely fucking terrified to take.
Reader
“Where is he?” I ask Emily as I approach. Fuck It, might as well get to the point.
She grins. “He’s with Sam.”
Scanning through the boys, I look for the duo. The past two weeks have been the longest I’ve gone without Paul since the moment we imprinted over six months ago. My nerves feel like they’re shot to hell and my stomach is lodged firmly in my throat, where is he-
Like a magnet drawn to its counterpart, my eyes land on his and everything is right again. The panicky feeling worming its way into my chest evaporates and I feel like I can take a deep breath again, fuck this man for making me feel this way.
“You should go talk to him.” Emily, always the instigator.
Paul’s gaze turns away from me to Sam and my heart sinks a little, “he doesn’t want to see me.”
“Nonsense, he’s been asking about you nonstop.”
I whip my head towards her so fast, “asking about me?”
She smiles to herself as she tidies up the snack table, “mhmmm.”
I groan to myself, realizing I’ve fallen into her trap and that she’s purposefully torturing me. “Em-”
“Heads up,” she nods behind me and I freeze. “Hello, my love.”
“Hi, beautiful.” The way Sam envelopes her in his arms and kisses her cheeks before planting one on her lips tugs at my heart in the most painful way.
Trying to look literally anywhere else, a large hand cups my elbow.
“Hey.” Paul’s voice is low, unsure.
I glance up with what I know is a sad look, “hey.”
His jaw clenches so tight that I can see the feathering in the muscle, but his gentle grip on my arm never changes. The heat of him slowly leaks into me from the small point of contact, fuck I’ve missed him.
“C’mon, let’s find a seat by the fire before Billy starts.”
“You don’t want to sit with your boys?” Why the fuck did I say that?
“No.” The loaded look he stares me down with offers no room for rebuttal, so I head for an empty bench with the heat of him following closely behind.
Kim’s eyes catch mine as I sit close enough to Paul that our thighs barely touch, her brow raising in a question that I pointedly ignore. Jared next to her gives me that same look and I quickly avert my eyes, everyone in this pack is so goddamn nosy.
Billy Black clears his throat as Sam tosses a few more pieces of wood onto the fire, everyone quieting down at the unspoken command.
The flames steal my attention as the low tenor of the elder’s voice begins the retelling of an old tale I should probably be paying attention to.
It’s soothing - Billy’s voice, the heat of the fire, the cool sand between my toes, the community atmosphere of the pack gathered in one place, Paul’s presence at my side.
It feels like I should belong here.
It feels like home.
Too bad the man next to me is everything I want, but I'm nothing he’s looking for.

Batmoms biggest "fan"
A small thing that I wrote and completed a long while ago. I decided to go back to school and I'm now getting the hang of everything. enjoy this story wherein- You (fem batmom reader) have a sort of fanclub. This fanclub however has the rest of the family on edge. and your sons do something about it :)
You frown as you took a bite of of your food. You were stood up… by your own husband of all people. At a nice restaurant that he chose.
For a mission that he won’t even tell you the details about. That of course didn’t stop you from indulging in the food and wine that you’ve eaten multiple times. The people around you looked at you with the occasional whispers in between. But you didn’t mind. In fact, with the way you were eating it might as well been a night for Y/N Wayne to be by herself.
The waiter approached the table with a sheepish smile “the bill Miss Wayne.”
You gave him a smile that make even those who despise you blush . You pull out your purse and place cash in the folder, followed by the Bruce’s black card. The server Looked at you confused.
“The black card is for the bill. The cash is your tip.” You say with a wink.
“F-five hundred dollars” he shook his head in disbelief “I can’t accept this.”
You tilt your head to the side “why not? Is it not enough?” You look at his name tag before your phone rang. “You’ve done an excellent job today Jared. Please, accept the tip.”
Jared slowly nodded his head as he return to the back. You check the caller ID and smile “hey hey bird. What’s up?”
On the other end was your second eldest Jason Todd. Slowly he’s been talking to you more as of late. Which brings you joy, the last thing you’d want is for any of your boys to cut you off of their life over Bruce’s actions. Lord knows how hard you try to have both your eldest socialize within the family.
“Nothing much. You free?”
You look around the restaurant “not necessarily. Decided to get some dinner.”
“Where B?”
“Out. He’s busy tonight.”
There was a pause on the other line “right…”
The waiter returned with the card and you signed the receipt . You grabbed your belongings and left the establishment. “So, when’s the next time I get to see you?”
Unbeknownst to you, the very son you were on the phone with stood atop the apartment across from the restaurant.
“I don’t know Ma. I’m on a very important case right now.” Jason said pressing a pair of binoculars watching you intently.
“Hmmm. Well don’t stay out for too long. Honestly, you and your father act the same way when you’re working in a case.”
Jason moved his binoculars slightly behind you. He noticed the waiter watching you from one of the restaurant windows whilst holding a pair of white gloves. Your gloves, you must’ve forgotten them.
“Uh huh. Text me when you get home. Stay safe Ma.”
You look down at your phone slightly shaking your head. You place the phone back into your purse before raises your had at the passing taxi’s.
~Meanwhile~
Jason continued to watch both you and the waiter. It was only after you getting into a taxi that he put all his focus on the man in the restaurant.
Jason heard some shuffling behind him causing him to roll his eyes “Ya know, if you just want a hug you can totally ask.” The man announced his presence with a preppy tone.
Jason grunted “go away Dickhead, I’m busy.”
“No, it looks like you’re stalking mom.” Dick crossed his arms “what are your doing Jay?”
“Working. What are YOU doing? Shouldn’t you be in bludhaven? Doing police work.” Jason quipped as he watched the waiter put Y/N’s gloves in his pockets before returning to work.
“I’m… also working right now.”
Jason finally turned to face his older brother “so you know.”
Dick nodded “Babs has mom’s taxi being traced as we speak. Tim is also tailing the thing.”
Jason took a deep breath before turning around facing the restaurant. Five months, as far as Jason knows, his mother Y/N Wayne has been stalked by a group for five months. And it only seems to be getting worse. Word around the streets is that there’s a twisted fan club. A fan club that is too infatuated with the lady of the Wayne household. And the only way a person can be initiated into the group is by meeting Y/N Wayne.
“Jay. I know you know Bruce is working on this case. Why not join him instead of doing it alone.”
Jason scoffed “please, Bruce will just put the mastermind in jail. And then what? Tell me, are you comfortable with mom having stalkers trying to get to her any chance they get?”
Dick didn’t respond, which cause Jason to laugh “exactly. That man did nothing when I died. I’m not taking that risk. Not when my Mom is involved.”
Jason noticed the waiter walk out of the establishment and hastily walked towards a dark ally. Jason put his helmet back on “if you want to help, stay out of my way.” Jason, dressed as redhood Jumped down from the building to follow the man.
Dick watched as his brother followed the guy.
“You know he’s going to need some backup right?” He heard Barbra in his ear piece.
“Maybe he’s hungry.” Dick flipped off the building befit grappling the next one. Following his brother.
~~~~~
You arrive to the manor and went straight to the cave. “Bruce! Bruce Wayne show yourself right now!” You yelled into the void it seemed. Bats fluttered about as your husband dressed as Batman turned in his seat. He got up and walked towards you
You pointed a finger at him “you stood me up.”
Bruce rose his hands in surrender “I can explain.”
“It better be good. Because ain’t no way I went to your favorite restaurant only to be looking like a goof ball all alone. The gossip news shows are going to have a field day with this one.”
Bruce didn’t say anything. How could he, on the one hand he’s been trying to figure out who’s actively hunting you down. While on the other hand, he did use you for bait. And that he’ll have no problem taking to the grave.
“Bruce, talk to me. You and the kids have been tense lately. Is the world ending again?” You ask stepping closer to Bruce. You knew his actions were for a reason, but after years of dealing with this kind of thing, it’s starting to bug you slightly.
Bruce finally felt defeated. “You remember Dom? Dom rosenbloom from highschool?”
You giggled “of course. I’ve always found him sweet. Wonder what he’s up to.”
“He’s stalking you” Bruce said bluntly.
Your mouth hung open shocked by the sudden declaration “what? H-how?”
Bruce takes your hand and walks you to the computer. He pulled up multiple videos of this man following you at every instance. Galas, work, the gym, even at the supermarket.
“Bruce. Why didn’t you say anything’s“ you gasped before slapping his shoulder “you used me as bait.”
Bruce smiled slightly. Your tone was most definitely playful given the situation. “I might’ve”
You squeezed Bruce’s hand making him face you. His armored chest rising and falling slowly. You look up into his eyes. He then returned the gesture by placing one of his gloved hands on your face. “On a serious note Honey. You’re in danger so lay low for me alright.”
You nod your head. Your fingers dancing along his chest “That’s still not an excuse to stand me up.” You say standing up on your tippy toes before giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. You turn and began ascending the stairs. “I’ll be more carful from now on Bruce. Now… Could you at least join me in the bath~ I think that’ll make up for your silliness.”
Bruce looked at the time then back at you. “It’ll be my pleasure Mrs.Wayne”
~~~
Jason followed the waiter to a run down school. He loaded his gun before stealthily walking into the building.
“Rubber bullets?” Nightwing chirped beside him.
Jason swung his arm around pointing the gun at his brother “keep it up and I’ll use real ones. Just for you.” Jason scoffed “you’re a pain in the ass”
“Not as big of a pain at that one over there.” Dick pointed to the other side of the building. Damian dressed as Robin snuck in through a window before disappearing.
Stressed Jason put the gun away “Wheres his adult.” He said before the two followed the tween down the hall.
~~~
“My brothers! We are gathered here today to honor a priced relic. Mrs.Wayne’s gloves.”
A group of people gathered in the abandoned schools gymnasium. Y/N’s belonging from shoes, jewelry, even discarded hair products were put up on display. Ooo’s and ah’s can be heard from the crowd making Tim feel sick to his stomach. Before he hacked into the building lighting grid gunshots fired. Tim massaged his temple, there was only one other person he can think of that doesn’t have his kind of finesse.
“Alright. Which one of you is the leader?” Red hood parted the crowed of people as he pointed the gun at the man on stage.
Tim moved his head side to side before jumping down from his hiding spot. Knocking out one of the stage guards.
The man attempted to run on the other side but was stopped my a smaller Robin. Damian kicked the guard in the gut before crossing his arms.
The leader’s face turned red with embarrassment “What is the meaning of this. I , Dominic rosebloom will have all of you- ”
“Pfffft I’m sorry. Rose bloom? That’s your name.” Nightwing appeared from behind Redhood who still had the gun pointed at Dominic. “You were bullied weren’t you.”
Dominic opened his mouth to say something but Tim pulled out his laptop. “Actually yes. According to sources Y/n Wayne was his only friend throughout his high school years. Then uhh… Bruce Wayne stole her from him. Gross… anyway You guys didn’t know that?”
“Tsk what does it matter. Let’s settle this quickly. I have something important attend to.”
****
The sun shone through the silk curtains of your bedroom. Normally you’d wake up in bed alone but your husband laid next to you scrolling through his phone. He chuckled slightly before showing you what he was reading.
“Dominic RoseBloom found guilty for harassing and Stalking Mrs.Wayne”
The picture provided was a grown man left out in the open with heart underwear and a dunce hat on.
“No… who would humiliate him like that.” You say pressing a hand over your mouth.
Bruce look at the picture further, he noticed a green cape in the bottom of the photo “our children.”
CHAPTER 3
<<CHP 2 | CHP 4 >>
The music was playing loud with the help of Embry’s subwoofer. Everyone was feeling the drinks as the group talked over one another. Only the older members sat around the bonfire. Consisting of Y/n, Quil, Kim, Emily, Leah, Sam, Embry, and Jared.
Leah and Embry sat beside y/n on either sides. Emily and Kim eventually found their way to their respective partners. Kim and Jared sat next to each other basically fondling one another. Emily and Sam were too absorbed with one another to even join the group conversation.
Almost an hour and a half had passed since Paul had left. Y/n still sat with her heart racing out of her chest as she barely finishing her first drink. Still nursing what was left in the can. Wondering anxiously when Paul would get back. Feelings in turmoil as she switched from feeling desperate to frustration at herself.
The three outside of y/n seemed to take no notice or care about the couples. It seemed that it was just something normal for the others. Y/n faded in and out of the conversation, thinking of him, then snapping into reality. She wondered if he’d even come back.
She was getting along with Leah, there were some qualities they shared, even some interests. Y/n was relieved to know she wasn’t as scary as she thought. She was one of the most welcoming and generous people out of the group aside Emily.
“So your grandma said you’re living all alone down at her old place?”
“Yeah just me out there at the moment”
“Seems a lot of work for one person. How are you handling it all?” Leah asked with serious concern. Y/n nervously laughed “I’m handling it so far yeah. It’s true it’s a lot of work for me but not much besides the house I have to look after. I’ll worry about the yard once the snow is fully melted.“
“Well if you ever need any help I live nearby your place. I’ll give you my number in case of anything. Or if you just want to hang. I’m sure you can handle but it’s still scary for a single girl to live alone there. It’s a pretty isolated area”
“Really? I appreciate that it’ll help. I’ve been worried about the recent wolf sightings in my area. Least I know you’re around”
Leah fell silent after they exchanged numbers. Embry she enjoyed as well but y/n found it hard to befriend men most of the time. It never lasted long with her guy friends in the past. Besides she wasn’t sure if she was wanting to just befriend him.
Other times she’d be really enjoying herself. But after feeling that intense connection earlier from Paul she wasn’t sure about much now. It didn’t help the fact that Embry and Leah kept bickering with one another quite loudly.
“So how are we feeling tonight y/n?” Embry asked catching her attention. He wore a soft smile on his face. “Great. How’s your night so far?” She asked earnestly with a smile as he leaned in closer. Her cheeks flushing at how close they were at the moment.
“Same here. You’re not much of a drinker are you” He asked looking down at her empty can. She shrugged her shoulders “Usually” she said as he scoffed. “Usually? Why not tonight? I thought you were having a great night” he asked with a worried look.
“I mean I am but—“ y/n trailed off nervously. Embry shook his head slightly. “But?” Gazing into his eyes he gave off a unique Intense energy. An unsuspecting darkness was hidden inside him. He must’ve noticed from Leah and y/n’s reaction how he was behaving. Leaning back slightly away from her as Leah got up to leave.
“I just…” Y/n trailed off trying to figure what to say. Explain that she somehow missed Paul even though they literally just met? She wasn’t sure If one could even call that an introduction.
“Look, I get that you’re not used to being around people like us. We can come off how do I put it. A bit scary? Intense? I dunno but personally I hope you have a good time here with all of us. In the meantime can I get you a new drink?” He offered which made y/n smile.
“Sure, thank you” she answered as Embry stood up. But before he could leave she pulled onto the edge of his sleeve. “I just wanna say I am having fun. I don’t wanna give off the impression I’m not. It’s just that I didn’t realize how tired I am y’know? But I’m sure a drink will help with that”
He smiled slightly at her nodding in acknowledgment. Leaving to get a drink out of the cooler for her y/n sat in thought. Her heart beat was still pounding loudly. The lingering energy settled over her and her heart.
It wasn’t as if she thought everyone was scary. They seemed interesting in a way she couldn’t describe. A certain mystery that she wanted to unravel about all of them. They seemed so close and familiar. It made the feeling of being a new person all the more obvious.
The evening was great so far, but with how much time had passed, she wondered if Paul would return. Would she even cross paths with Paul again? She wanted to rid herself of this inner conflict she was going through already.
Maybe then she could actually focus on her surroundings. She kept getting flashbacks to her dreams. Running in the woods wildly, the light of the moon, with the sounds of howls echoing the valleys. Chills ran down her back all the way across her spine.
Embry came with her new drink in hand. She kept harshly blinking as to help with her vision, fading in and out of reality, then back to her place in her dreams. As she reached for the can she saw a flash of fierce piercing grey eyes in her mind. Making her gasp in surprise she almost dropped her drink.
The loud noise of truck pipes echoed as a black truck rolled up. Instantly catching the attention of everyone as the driver slammed into park. Y/n once again felt a wave of chills go through her. She knew there was only one person it could be.
Paul had returned with Seth by his side. He wore a completely different outfit than the one had a few hours ago she noticed. Glancing up he found her and locked eyes instantly. She was frozen in place as he made his way down to the area.
Sam rose to greet the two as Paul kept his eyes on y/n. The rest of the group eventually stood along with y/n. At this point all y/n felt she could do was look away and stare into the fire. Feeling his intense look baring down into the side of her neck.
“Paul you made it” Sam said as he was almost instantly ignored. Embry stood beside y/n not bothered by his entrance. Paul was glaring at him, while y/n scanned Paul once more, looking upon his face closely.
“So” His voice was smooth but gruff. He had a slight smirk across his face standing in from of her. Y/n looked up as she breathed in regaining composure. All everyone else could do was watch and wait in anticipation.
“You’re her aren’t you?” Paul said in a tone that made her heart race. “Her?” She answered as he wore a stern expression. One that seemed like he wouldn’t let up. His intensity was something y/n had never experienced before.
“The one. Everyone has talked about you at least once a day since you came” He said making y/n lift an eyebrow, she felt he was somehow annoyed, at how much everyone was excited over her. “Yeah well that’s me. And you are?” She asked as he smiled slightly at her response.
“Paul” he said causing a short pause between the two. For both it felt like an eternity fit into a second. Y/n’s eyes trailed from his eyes down to his lips. Down to his neck and chest focusing on his collarbone. She was too busy taking in his features to realize he was also.
“I never got your name” he said as she felt the warmth on her face spreading. “My name is y/n… Not just the one” y/n bluntly corrected Paul. He smiled finally breaking the harsh exterior he held. “I’d hope not” he said as y/n felt somehow more at ease now that he was back.
The rest of the guys broke the conversation by pulling Paul to the drinks. Catching both of the two by surprise. Everyone erupting into conversation as y/n caught her breath. Separating into their respective corners.
She felt her nerves calmly settling down. As her heart beat steadied she sat down clutching her chest. Embry took notice as he joined her side once more. “Hey you okay?” He asked worried as she nodded her head.
“I’m fine it’s just a bit cold out here. Still getting used to it I guess” she tried to assure while he shook his head. Embry wore a thick fleece lined flannel jacket which he was trying to take off.
Leah instantly as she seen the sight and got up to intervene. Knowing how the situation would bode with a certain someone. Paul was already shooting deathly eye glares from his corner. Leah rushed over with a blanket, wrapped up y/n, before Embry could place his jacket on her.
Y/n flushed red as Leah wrapped not only the blanket but her arms around her. “Here” Leah said looking down at her, she could smell her scent waft past, which was a mix of rain and lavender. Embry frowned as he shuffled his jacket back on.
“Even from where I sat you could see how cold you are” Leah smiled teasing y/n who was bashful. As Leah rubbed her shoulders for warmth before sitting back beside her. “Thank you. I’m not used to the weather here just yet” y/n replied in a soft tone.
“Is it bad if I hope you don’t?” Leah said as she peered in close to y/n. Gazing at her through her thick lashes y/n felt flustered. Noticing how close the distance was to the two. Jared and Kim sat with Paul who was sitting on the edge of his seat.
“Now why would you hope for that? You wish for me to be freezing all the time?” y/n answered trying to focus. But Leah had her own intensity to her that y/n struggled to match. Leah in the other hand couldn’t but find her demeanour cute.
“Because. Then I wouldn’t be able to warm you up like this” Leah made y/n instantly blush heat spreading across her face. Leah sat with a sly but subtle smirk as she stifled a laugh. Quil on the other hand was sick of watching everyone fight over his cousin.
Everyone was acting different since she arrived he noticed. It was as if they all forgot how to act in the first place. When did everyone get so sweet? He rose from his seat eager to march right over. Paul determined to follow him but Sam whipped a glare to him.
The loud sound of a car arriving interrupted everyone. As they all shifted their heads to see who had pulled up. Y/n felt her heart drop into her gut in an awful way. Everything in her body told her she should flee. Instead her body froze stiff in place.
The men all stood up on alert before the truck could even fully park. Sensing something that y/n was somehow also reacting to. Paul whipped his head over to Quil then y/n. Embry left y/n’s side walking over to stand by Sam.
Quil marched over to y/n taking Embry’s place at her side. Y/n noticed Quil’s protective stance as everyone else stood up alert. Leah also rushed in front of y/n as if to block her from something.
Out from the truck was Jacob and the girl Renesmee. Y/n stiffened again as the two immediately locked eyes. Sam rushed up to meet with Jacob who walked with Renesmee in stride.
The two men began to talk in harsh but hush tones to each other. Renesmee kept her eyes on y/n who was trying to stray away from the girl. Looking down eager to avoid y/n felt utter chills throughout her body.
“Hey there. It’s me from the diner remember?” Renesmee beamed innocently with a bright smile. Strolling over past the two men and the rest of the group confidently over to y/n. Everyone eyed her with wild and fierce eyes shocked.
Y/n slightly gasped upon hearing her voice, seeing her coming over, she felt her self hesitate. Quil and Leah immediately closed ranks sliding close to one another. Shoulder to shoulder they blocked Renesmee from approaching further
“Just the other day was when we met. I’m sure Quil remembers. I didn’t think you’d be here what a nice surprise!” The girl continued as Quil nodded with a straight stern face. “Yes it’s good to see you too” he tried to dismiss her. But to no avail as she peered over and in between the two to look at y/n.
“Yes hi Renes—”
“Jacob” Paul called out in a serious tone as he hovered close by. Arms crossed as he showed obvious discontent. “Renesmee” Jacob called out making the girl look back concerned. In a brief moment she sighed and joined his side once more.
Y/n couldn’t help but notice everyone’s strange behaviour. How the energy shifted as soon as these two pulled up. But she wasn’t quite sure how to react given the mood so far. Kim and Jared looked at one another before they separated.
“C’mon y/n I think we should go for a quick cruise. Leah come with us. We’re almost out of drinks” Kim chimed in as y/n looked back up at Renesmee. A sad look upon her face as she gazed into the fire. Kim quickly linked arms with y/n pulling her away from the area.
“Em you too” Leah spoke in a firm tone as Emily nodded. The four left together explaining they’d be right back. Y/n didn’t know what Kim meant by saying there were hardly drinks. When there were at least two coolers full still. She understood there was something weird going on they didn’t want to say.
Whatever it was had to do with Renesmee somehow. Or at least Jacob she decided in her mind on the drive to the liquor store. Even the girls didn’t dare bring the two of them up. Leah drove since she didn’t have anything to drink.
As she parked the car y/n made the other two girls go inside. Wanting to sit alone with Leah for a moment. Y/n waited for Leah to light her cigarette. Watching as she exhaled her smoke into the air.
“So that was Renesmee and Jacob huh? I remember Jacob but I’m not sure who the girl is”
Y/n tried to make her intentions discreet. Leah took a long drag, thinking of what to say, she took a moment before answering. “I thought she said you met at the diner” y/n agreed but quickly dismissed her.
“But that was quick I barely spent a minute with her” Leah nodded slightly. “Yeah well that might be for the best” Leah answered as she took a drag. Her ash lighting up as she inhaled. She seemed so reserved y/n thought as she looked at her.
“For the best? What do you mean by that?” Y/n peered curiously. Wondering what could be so wrong about Renesmee. “I hardly know the girl either. Just that her and Jacob have been gone for like 3-4 years until now. The girl can be a bit much at times from what I remember” Leah continued.
“And Jacob? Is that his…” y/n trailed off unsure whether to say it out loud or not. Leah glanced over with a small smirk. “His what?” Leah questioned as y/n blushed. “I mean is that y’know… His girlfriend?“ Leah laughed slightly as she flicked her cigarette out the window.
“No that’s not his girlfriend. They’re close like…” she struggled to explain as y/n tried guessing. “His little sister?” She answered as Leah agreed. “Yeah… Yeah something like that…” Leah finished her cigarette putting it out. The two girls were coming out the store now with small bags.
Once they returned y/n noticed how they came with more bags of ice than anything. More so than the booze they were supposedly getting. She didn’t want to question since no one needed to black out tonight. Hopefully these boys weren’t black outs who’d fight each other when wasted.
“Good to see Jacob back isn’t it?” Kim brought up lightly, her and y/n sat in the back, as the other two sat quietly. “It is yeah…” Emily said drifting off onto something unrelated. The topic of Renesmee wasn’t brought up in the slightest. It was like she didn’t exist to these people.
Getting back to the beach Jacob and Renesmee were gone, everyone explained they just came for a bit, since Renesmee was supposedly tired. Jacob decided to bring her home instead. Explaining he won’t be able to make it back until another day.
Unadmittedly y/n was disappointed to know she was gone. There was something about her y/n felt she needed to uncover. Why does she keep haunting her dreams with her presence? It all wasn’t making much sense to her. Figuring if she got to know her maybe it’d explain somethings.
Jacob as well she surprisingly missed. She’d cross paths with him as a child growing up. Since him and Quil were always close, she had hardly recognized him, not like she knew him that well anyways. But it was a missed opportunity she was hoping to get another day.
She tried not to focus on it too much and instead focused on visiting here. Tonight would most likely not be different than the rest. Renesmee would likely be awaiting for her in her dreams. As she went to sit down on the logs with the rest Paul came towards her.
She felt nervous as he stepped close, in his hands were a warm blanket, looking up at him he wore a stern expression. “Have this” he said bluntly making her quickly take it in her arms. “It’s cold out tonight. You’ll need it to stay warm” he said very matter of fact. He smelt of firewood smoke and a faint smell of cologne.
“Oh okay…Thank you” she said softly as he handed her a drink, the kind she was drinking before, instead it was a fresh one. Before he walked away satisfied back to his seat. Wrapping herself in the blanket she couldn’t help but blush at the interaction. How thoughtful she thought as the rest watched closely.
The rest of the evening y/n spent with Kim and Emily. Despite y/n’s attempts hardly anyone spoke of Renesmee. The conversation always somehow leading back to Jacob. It bothered her since she was overly curious of the girl.
“So y/n what do you usually like doing around here? Now that you’re fully moved back?” Emily had asked y/n. “I mean there’s not much to do around here really. Well at least from what I remember” she said making everyone laugh.
“That’s quite true” Emily said as she calmed down. Y/n couldn’t help but feel a bit embarrassed for the comment. “I love going to the beach but it’s not warm out yet. Hiking too but again it’s so cold yet. I’m mainly at home unless I travel out to the city” she said trying to shift the focus off of her somehow.
“Well how about sometime this week you come over for dinner? I usually cook big meals and we’d love to have someone new come by. I can show you what we do for fun here” Emily was sincere and kind which y/n was glad for. “Yeah of course I’ll come” y/n said eagerly making the rest smile, except for Paul, who looked over to Sam and Emily concerned.
“Just let me know what kind of dishes you like. I can cook whatever it’s no issue. Since these guys hunt I usually have a variety of wild game” Emily insisted sweetly. Ignoring Paul’s glares and Sam’s concerns.
“Wow really? You guys hunt?” Y/n asked the rest of the men who were surprised by the sudden attention. “I mean yeah all the time” Embry said in a semi sarcastic tone that y/n caught. Y/n frowned slightly as she turned away. Soon as she did Paul elbowed Embry’s side harshly.
“I can bring by some meat to stock your freezer. I know you love elk meat” Quil chimed in making y/n perk up. “Really? I’d really appreciate that since I haven’t eaten it in so long” y/n said as Quil nodded.
“Wait a minute. I knew I recognized you! But I wasn’t sure from where. You’re the cousin that Quil took to prom right? What was that? Junior or sophomore year?” Jared exclaimed as he finally remembered. Both Quil and y/n’s face flushed with embarrassment.
“Yeah it was grade eleven I came out for the prom. It was a goodnight” y/n explained much to Quil’s objections. “Sorry I didn’t remember sooner. But damn that was bugging me for a while” Jared said relieved.
Everyone got a rise out of that as they shared stories of that night. “I remember because everyone thought she was your girlfriend. Awe man most of the guys were so jealous until they knew she was your cousin” Jared continued on.
It was starting to annoy Paul as much as Quil. “Yeah well I had the prettiest girl on my arm that night that’s all that mattered” Quil defended his self while the boys continued to tease him.
“That’s because you couldn’t get a real date” Embry started as the two broke into rough housing one another. “Fuck you, you didn’t even show up with a date, at least I did” he bickered as Embry tried choking him.
The conversation trailed off into what the guys wanted to show y/n. Once the two broke apart thanks to Paul. Which was just basically a variety of the sports they all played. She got along with Embry and Quil the most. Since they all had somewhat nerdy interests. Embry’s sarcastic humour was starting to rub off on her.
Y/n had started to notice Paul’s presence more with each passing moment. Eager to steal secret glances to look at him, but their eyes would meet each time, making her heart skip a beat. It was as if he was staring at her long before she could look at him.
It caught her off guard in some moments. Or how if she shifted her position and seat he’d find a way to sit directly across her. How he leaned in each time they spoke to one another so far. Just their few passing words was somehow enough for her to feel smitten.
The visit was cut short since Sam got a phone call. Apparently the majority of them work on as a type of security, for the community, Sam was one of the leadings officers. All eventually decided to leave and end the night.
“It’s not unusual for Sam and some of the guys to leave like this. It takes some getting used to” Emily explained as she sighed. Trying to hide her obvious disappointment at her fiancé leaving.
Y/n laid in bed that night tired and tipsy. Thinking back on what had happened. She was glad to have met everyone so far. But Paul stood out amongst the rest even against Renesmee. How intense she felt being near him, in some moments she felt her heart beating so loudly, thinking it’d run right out of her chest.
Paul made her feel things she never thought she could. Tossing and turning her mind was filled with Paul. Despite the erratic emotions she felt somehow at ease also. Each time she closed her eyes to sleep it was as if he was staring back at her.
A howl echoed in her mind as she was lulled to sleep. It was the first night she didn’t have a weird terrible dream. Instead only remembering comfort that came in waves and the howl that echoed.
Y/n finally felt refreshed and rested after what felt like forever. The weird dreams were really messing with her quality of sleep. Thankfully not much happened last night to disturb her. The only thing she couldn’t get her mind off was Paul. Somehow switching him for Renesmee in her mind.
It still freaked her out about the other day with Kim, how Renesmee was in the middle of the road, that she couldn’t explain. In all honesty it messed with her confidence driving. Honestly her confidence in general.
She seemed so alluring and captivating. Despite only spending a few moments with her. Coming off as somehow hauntingly sweet. It wasn’t so great thinking so much of her. Luckily she had the thought of Paul distracting her.
Getting ready for the day she continued with her chores. Continuing to clean and tend to the house. She gradually felt cooped up and uncomfortable, surrounded by chaotic mess, boxes and items left scattered everywhere. She texted Kim to see if she wanted to hang.
But after waiting a minute Kim didn’t respond. Unusual since she always answered quickly. Deciding to just suck it up she wanted to go to the book store. Have a day to herself of shopping and being spoiled.
A chance to get over her nerves and get out. She finished what was left of her chores. Putting on her coat she grabbed her keys out of the bowl by the door. Once last look in the mirror she headed out.
Leaving the house she turned to lock the door. Only to hear a ruffling noise coming from the trees. Whipping her head quickly to see a huge gray wolf, shocked she dropped her keys, but for a brief second she made eye contact.
It was true there were wolves around here! Would it leap and attack her she thought? But the serene energy she felt told her otherwise. Holding the eye contact before the beast turned running into the forest.
She stood for a moment in disbelief. And also just to make sure there weren’t anymore around. After realizing what just happened was real and not a dream she gathered herself. It was her first time seeing a real wolf. Picking up her keys and driving down the road.
The sight of the wolf made her wonder. In all seriousness y/n was spiritual especially with how she grew up. Wondering if this was the same wolf that plagued her dreams and thoughts. Her grandfather always said there was a power, a certain energy, to the wolf.
Overwhelmed y/n knew she needed to just focus on herself today. Everything since moving here was so weird and different so far. She just needed to do something normal and docile. Something that was familiar to her. Hopefully there wouldn’t be any wolves on her way back.
Driving she listened to music to calm her nerves. Getting into a better mindset she got herself a coffee through a local cafe, going through the drive thru, before heading to the stores.
Shopping around a few clothing boutiques she wandered around. Finding a new small store she explored. Not realizing it was an indigenous owned store. There was a wall filled with jewellery. Different types of beaded, dentillium, shell earrings and jewelry.
Coming across a stunning pair of wolf earrings that were beaded. It was more intricate and detailed than what she’d found. She was so taken by them the lady at the register even noticed.
“Those were all made by local artisans in the community. Every item bought a portion goes back to them”
“Really? Do you happen to know the name of who made these?” She asked as the lady who looked at the earrings. “Usually these have a tag with their names and contact info of the artist. But this is missing one” she showed the other earrings with tags.
“I’ll still get them if that’s alright” y/n insisted as the lady happily rang them up. The earrings were too pretty to pass up. Especially after that encounter with that gray wolf. These ones had a gray wolf with an orange sunset coloured background.
Reaching the bookstore she noticed it was also indigenous owned. Something she wasn’t used to where she lived with her parents. It made her excited since she needed more indigenous literature on her shelves.
The man at the counter greeted her as she entered. It was semi busy with people mingling around. Looking around she found a section dedicated to Quileute knowledge and history. Which immediately caught her interest as she went towards it.
Scanning through she found a book on Quileute myths and legends. It reminded her badly of her grandfather. Growing up when she’d be at their house he’d always tell stories. Passing them down from his grandfather to her and her cousins.
Most were stories of his time as a child. Before diving into myths and stories he knew about. She and Quil spent the most time with him out of the grandkids. He’d always take the time to explain what each story meant.
Skimming through she was entranced by the story she landed on. It reminded her of a certain story she had trouble remembering of his. Because he only told it maybe once in her lifetime. Reading the title of the chapter she began reading further.
“Myths and legends of the Quileute tribe
In times before the white man came to the country, the Quileute tribe have been a small but resilient people, with their own unique traditions and power. Recognized and respected by the surrounding communities as fierce warriors.
They are also recognized for their mysterious ‘gifts’ and so called ‘blessings’. Some say they have multiple types of strong magic and power. One being their connection to the wolves. Accounts from other surrounding tribes speak of their unnatural abilities and ties.
The Makah people specifically, have certain accounts, and stories of such abilities. For when encountering them in battle, the Quileute owned what was believed to be direwolves, which are now extinct to the modern world. They’d send them out to assist during battle. Many believed they raised and trained them among their own. But there’s no such evidence to support that.
The direwolves were said to be as big or even bigger than the average horse. A different breed of wolf that was uncommon in the Washington area. On the battlefield they would announce their arrival by howling. Sometimes striking so much fear into the enemy they’d flee.
The Quileute people say otherwise about the direwolves. Claiming that they themselves were the direwolves. Denying that they ever raised such beasts, hence no evidence, but there was no proof to support their original claim.
As a tribe they were used to human threats. Other men trying to conquer their tribe and land. All until the arrival of the ‘cold ones’, people that were made of hard stone, and an unnatural thirst for human blood.
Claiming that the reason they could shift into the powerful wolf, was to kill such horrific creatures, in order to best protect not only their people but humanity it self.”
It sounded like they were describing vampires y/n thought. She only had fuzzy faint memories of her grandfathers story. Surely she would’ve remembered if he mentioned talk of vampires.
The thought of them sent shivers down her spine. How could vampires even be real? The way her people described them made her feel scared. How would they even come across one, let alone many, and also be able to kill them?
Just how big did these wolves get to be? What was shifting exactly like? It was almost describing a werewolf. Intrigued by the idea y/n continued further.
“The cold ones were creatures born of the night. They are unnatural and forever ravenous. Wishing to only feed on human flesh, the Quileute describe them as cannibals, cursed to live forever for their sins of eating human flesh. They appeared as attractive and seductive. With cold solid skin that shimmered like the sun on the water.
Their ability to transform into wolves they say came from one man. Whose name was name was long forgotten. As was his bloodline, they say the last of his line, died honourably to save the tribe. He was named as the last shifter and last wolf of the tribe.
A cold one had strayed from his partner and the trail. Belonging to a group of French colonizers who were trapping. The man found the village first, coming across a band of women and children, bathing and washing by the river.
Legends say the last shifter had to sacrifice his self to save the tribe. Other say it was him and also his sons who died in battle. All the stories end the same way. Wth both of the cold ones being killed and burned to ash. Stating that the cold ones ate many women and children before the last wolf could stop him. Their bodies looked deflated, pale, and flat for they had no blood in their bodies”
An image was attached, a hand drawn depiction of the grimly scene, a woman being sucked at the neck with bodies surrounding. The cold one’s eyes looked dark and ominous. Her eyes were piercingly light as she dressed in fine furs.
“Found yourself a good book I see?” A familiar voice chimed behind y/n surprising her out of her trance. It was Renesmee who stood with a sweet smile. Giggling slightly at y/n’s scared reaction.
“Renesmee! I didn’t realize you were here” she replied as her nerves settled. “I seen you come in earlier but you looked interested in reading. I didn’t want to disturb you but I wanted to say hi. I wasn’t able to talk to you at the bonfire the other night”
“Yeah sorry about that we thought the cruise wouldn’t be so long. I was hoping to see you too”
“Jacob ended up wanting to leave. I think he was too tired to be honest. But anyways I heard from Jacob you recently moved back here. Is that true?” She asked with eyes full of wonder. Y/n couldn’t help but take notice of her ethereal beauty, how perfect her brown hair was, or how her skin glistened under the sunshine.
“I mean yeah but I’m not new to the area—”
“Great to hear. That means I can show you around. Y’know I’ve read this book before and it’s a great read” she said as y/n clasped the book close. “Y-Yeah it has been so far. I think I’m going to buy it actually. I want to read it more” she said her hands covering the front of the book.
“Wait… I’m not sure this is the same one I’ve read actually. Can I check the cover?” Renesmee asked as she reached to flip the book over. “Sure—“ y/n replied before her hands touched her, as they did the air from her lungs sucked out, and her field view changed before her.
She was stuck in the middle of the forest again. The same exact spot she had been stuck in the past. Another flash and the sky was no longer night but day. With a blinding sun that shined down on her.
The next was the moon flashing in her face. With the same intensity as the sun somehow. The sound of heavy footsteps on soft earth intensely struck the ground. Shocked and scared she couldn’t move not even a budge.
All she could see now, was a pair of eyes, glaring at her in the dark. Peering out through the darkness as it came forward. Gray eyes revealed to be the gray wolf once more. As he stepped out of the shadows to reveal itself.
Renesmee’s grip loosened as y/n stumbled backwards. Air rushing back into her lungs. Dropping the book to the floor suddenly. A cold sweat was running down her back as she looked up at her. Renesmee’s eyes fixed onto her neck, before looking back up at y/n, as she smiled Innocently.
“What’s wrong? I don’t want the book *that* bad. I said I read it already *remember*?” she said with such a nonchalant tone. Y/n felt her stomach instantly turn into a big huge knot. Something was *off* and she *needed* to leave.
Picking up the book Renesmee helped her with it. “Here. You have to be careful“ she said in a sweeter and much softer tone. But not enough for y/n to feel even slightly normal. Rushing to get up she felt her gut turning worser by the second. Her hand somehow brushed against hers once more.
Flashes of red filled her vision, similar to a strobe light, it made her stumble down again. “Are you sure you’re fine? You keep stumbling all over the store here” she said clutching y/n’s arm. Upon her touch she writhed away from Renesmee’s grip.
Turning around immediately she slapped a large money bill on the counter. “Thank you?” The man behind the register said as she practically ran out. Renesmee stood quiet as she watched her take off.
In a panic she ran down to her car. Only to be met with something in front of her stiff as concrete. “Woah there. You okay?” A voice said making her look up, it was Jacob his self, he held her shoulders as he helped her steady.
“Y/n?”
“Jacob?”
She asked bewildered by the encounter. “Yeah I’m okay you just surprised me” y/n replied as he smiled. “Me too. You came out pretty quickly. Like a bat out of hell. You okay?—“ he tried asking again but it only triggered her flashbacks to the vision. She could see sharp teeth snapping down, the sound of growling and snarling, as the wolves ran beside each other.
Y/n’s face drained of its colour turning her pale. Jacob noticed as he furrowed his eyebrows. “What’s wrong?” He asked with a genuine concern. His face somehow reminded her of the weird visions she was plagued with.
Renesmee stepped out of the book store. Jacob turned and greeted her like normal. But y/n fled down the path way with no shame or warning. More focused on her and her own sanity.
Y/n hopped into her car and sped home. Hoping and praying she wouldn’t come across Renesmee on the road. She so much as didn’t even want to think or utter her name. For fear of somehow summoning her.
Her grip was tight on y/n’s hand but she felt warm. At least she was warm instead of having an unnatural coldness. It actually surprised y/n she was warm, but it didn’t rid her of her suspicions, there was something about Renesmee that was different.
If she was a cold one, like she suspected, what could she even do? They were cannibals, literal blood sucking monsters, how could one defend themselves? They had to be just some stories elders told to keep kids inside.
Ridding the thought of her she hustled back home. It was raining outside, not as much as usual, it was more of a spit than anything. The smell was calming her down somewhat. Not as much as she wanted or hoped really.
There was no way she could think otherwise if she wanted to feel safe. That girl Renesmee just had to be a sweet normal human. And something else was plaguing the mind of y/n. For her to even experience something as this so often.
How far would these delusions go? It wasn’t as if she was this fascinated by such fantasy’s. Vampires never interested her much. Werewolves also she never paid attention to any fiction such as that. It was a big question on why y/n kept having such delusions.
Flashes of what she experienced kept coming to her. How Renesmee’s eyes although sweet were filled with a never ending darkness. Last she seen her eyes they were so dark. But this time they were a lighter color, a brown almost auburn, how could she never notice?
Her hands were practically shaking as she gripped the steering wheel. Driving fast she kept her eyes on the road. As the rain continued to pour down onto the ground. She could see something following her in the corner of her eye. But she dared not to look away from the road.
Although y/n wanted desperately to go back home, to her safe space, in her gut she knew it was a bad idea. Since Kim didn’t want to answer she knew who she could rely upon. Her grandmother Molly, she was a great comfort to her, anytime she was in need she answered. Even now she answered her obscure call.
“Gramma? Are you home?” She called out with clear desperation in her voice. “Yes. Whats wrong?” Was all she said to make y/n melt into a child again. “Nothing… I’m just missing you and wondering if I would be able to sleep over?” Although y/n was trying to be discreet Grandma Molly could sense her true intentions.
“I’ll be home my girl. Drive safe it’s raining out” Grandma Molly knew she’d arrive sooner than later. Y/n needed to grab clothes but she dreaded going back home. Pulling up to her driveway she sat in the car for a moment.
“Shit” y/n said out loud as she groaned. The anxious feeling churning deep in her. It’ll have to be quick but simple in and out. Stepping out she rushed to the door, still worried about the wolf from earlier, almost dropping her keys out of fear.
Getting inside the house it was quiet and undisturbed. Taking a second to pause and wait. A wave of peace fell over her in the moment. Debating if she wanted to stay and just visit her grandmother. Come home sometime later this evening. It’d be great if she could truly relax.
All until she could hear creaking floorboards in the upstairs hallway. The sound of weight shifting around the floors. A sinking feeling made her stop in her tracks.
‘What the fuck?’ She thought frozen in place again, a familiar eerie feeling washed right over her, she knew it wasn’t right to come here. A moment passed as she awaited for something she didn’t know.
Pulling her courage from somewhere in her. She grabbed the baseball bat she left hidden by the door. Y/n marched right up the stairs into her room ready to face whatever it may be. She wasn’t dumb enough to not have a weapon nearby. Especially as a young woman living alone.
Her bedroom window was open slightly with watery tracks everywhere. Nothing was taken or trashed but someone was inside. Only her bedroom was on the second floor. Who knew how to climb and then open her window?
After checking the house top to bottom with no intruder in sight. Y/n packed up a bag to go and see her grandmother. Locking every single window and door in sight before leaving.
Arriving at the house she felt relieved. This was the familiarity she has been searching for. Since y/n moved in the house her grandmother moved in with her sister Melissa. Everyone in the family called her “grandma Milly”. Who was Kim’s direct grandmother, since they were getting older, they decided it best to look after one another.
“My girl” Molly cooed as she hugged y/n tightly. Sinking into her arms she felt the comfort she needed. “What’s wrong?” She immediately asked y/n once they both let go. Shaking her head profusely “Nothings wrong. I just miss you is all” y/n answered.
Grandma Molly looked at her searching for dishonesty. Y/n didn’t feel it’d be appropriate to tell everything so far. She would eventually but for now she just wanted peace. As if she knew grandma Molly didn’t push any further. Instead bringing y/n inside for dinner.
“How are you settling into the house? Are you feeding yourself? You look pale” she fussed over y/n at the table. “I’ve been feeding myself yes—“ she tried to say before grandma Milly cut her off. “Are you sure? You look thinner than last I seen you”
“I’ve been adjusting to living alone. I don’t think I’ve withered away that much” y/n joked but the two didn’t let up. “Hm” was all Milly said as they finished dinner. Eventually she cleared everyone’s dishes. The two could sense something was up with y/n very quickly.
Settling in the living room they spent the evening watching TV together. Checking her phone she wondered about Kim. It was unusual for her to not answer. Chalking it up to her being busy, she wished she would answer, she needed her support.
“I’m going to go rest. My meds are kicking in” Milly said as she left the room. Bidding goodnight to the two girls. Y/n continued to watch tv as her grandma looked over at her with worry.
“My girl are you sure you’re okay? I don’t mind a surprise visit like this. It’s just… You seemed panicked earlier when you called” Grandma Molly pushed her. Seeing it was just the two of them alone y/n sighed in defeat.
“I mean I am fine. It’s just ever since I got here I just… I don’t know” y/n struggled to find the words. “I love the house. I’m very grateful for everything you’ve given me so far. So I don’t want come off as rude”
“I knew it! The house is too much work for you isn’t it? I was worried this would happen but I figured you wanted your own space. Quil was so adamant you get the house when we talked about it—“
“No no that’s not the issue here. The housework I can handle” y/n explained making her grandma sigh in relief. “It’s just ever since I moved in… a lot of stuff has been bothering me—“
“Oh I know you loved your grandfather. It’s a hard loss for everyone and a big adjustment—“
“I mean like actually bothering me” y/n almost spat out making Molly sit up. “What do you mean? I thought I told you to smudge the house after I left. You know it’s important especially since we cleared everything from there. You don’t want something else moving in” Milly explained as y/n sighed deeply. Figuring out the best way to explain.
“I did smudge with sweet grass even. What I’m trying to get at is my dreams have been crazy lately. And I can’t help but feel like they’re trying to tell me something. Show me something anyways…” y/n trailed off unsure on what her grandmother would say.
Molly sat quiet for a moment as she looked at y/n. “What did you see?” She asked as y/n looked up into her eyes. “The first couple of times I’m lost in the woods. I’m being chased or else I’m running to find something. I’m not sure really“
“Oh I’m sure your dreams are just reflecting how you feel here. I’m sure you’re feeling a little overwhelmed by everything” Molly tried to understand. But all y/n did was shake her head.
“I seen grandpa in one of them” y/n said making the expression on Mollys face drop completely. “What happened” she asked with quite a serious tone. “It was… strange to say the least” y/n shivered thinking back on it. Molly awaited for y/n to continue.
“Each time in my dream I’m in the same spot in the forest. Confused and lost. All of a sudden, in this one dream, someone had asked me if I was lost. I looked up and it was grandpa. He laughed, went behind a tree, he came out as his younger self” hearing this made grandma Molly gasp. And tear up at the thought as she covered her mouth.
“Aw well that tells me he’s doing well. Don’t you think so?” She asked y/n who sat quietly. A solemn look on her face told Molly otherwise. Raising her eyebrows at her granddaughter y/n gave in.
“When he left he… he was… I swear he turned into a wolf and ran into the tree line” y/n finally confessed. Y/n expected her gramdma to chalk it up to some crazy dream. That stress had been affecting her and her sleep so of course she’d dream crazy.
Instead grandma Molly sat quiet with a hand on her mouth. Staring off into the distance in deep thought. “Gramma?” She peered curious thinking it’d snap her back to the conversation.
“Have you seen Kim lately? Did she or anyone else come talk to you yet?” She asked making y/n confused. “No she didn’t answer me. What do you mean talk to me yet?” Molly sat up and held y/n’s hand in comfort.
“You must be tired. What with all your stress. For me the dream is just grandfather coming to visit you. You know how he’s always been attached to wolves and their spirit. Rest easy and have some peace of mind” Was all Molly said as she basically dismissed the conversation. Feeling like there was a blockage y/n settled with just going to bed.
There was no dream or nightmare that night as well. Maybe it really was just stress y/n thought. Eating breakfast with her two grandmothers they discussed their day ahead.
“Me and Milly here have to attend a meeting today. You’re welcome to stay here if you want while we’re gone. Fridge is stocked and the TV will be free”
Y/n knew her grandma Molly was a councillor. But grandma Milly wasn’t, she questioned what meeting they would have together, but instead of being too nosey she let it slide. She wasn’t quite sure what grandma Milly did to be honest. Besides bingo and chain smoke everywhere she went.
“Yep you’re lucky my show isn’t on today” grandma Milly teased her making the two chuckle. “No that’s okay grandma I think I ought to head home. There’s some things I left unfinished” y/n picked her fork around her breakfast. She wondered about Kim for some reason.
It was quite unusual for her not to answer y/n, especially since it’s been a whole day later, surely she wasn’t upset at her? Or even worse she was in some danger? It seemed ridiculous but y/n knew Kim was never not on her phone. The ignorance from Kim seemed deliberate.
“Well you’re always welcome to stay again anytime. Me and this girl aren’t usually this busy most days”
“I’m glad I came, I really needed this visit, thank you guys” y/n smiled at the two. Finishing up their breakfast the three departed on their separate ways. Y/n wasn’t lying about having a great visit. It’s just she left with more questions than answers.
Would nothing explain these crazy delusions she’d been having? Perhaps she needed to just focus on self care, cut out her stress somehow, to make it all stop. But it all didn’t explain the possible intruder in her home.
It wasn’t like she just dreamt up the wet muddy tracks in her room. But really what could she do about it? She lived alone and it wasn’t like her grandmother could do anything. She’d tell Quil but what would he even say or do? Most likely just call her crazy and be bothered she made him check the house.
Getting back to the house she sat in the car for a moment. Her beloved childhood home was starting to feel different. She knew the energy would change once it was just her in the house. She didn’t want to think it, but sadly, it was starting to feel unsafe.
With a deep sigh she stepped into the house. Pausing for a moment to hear anything. Doing a quick perimeter check there was no one around. In moments such as this she wish she had someone to rely on.
That evening she did what she could to cheer herself up. Deciding to clean up her room and area. Before doing a complete pampering routine, a hot bubble bath, fit with a sheet mask to keep her skin soft. Doing what she could to also make herself feel comfortable being here alone.
Watching reruns of her favourite tv shows, she kept all the TVs in the house on, as a way to fill the eerie silence. Cooking her favourite foods she settled in somewhat. Praying that her windows would stay shut tonight.
As she slept she had a very lucid dream that freaked her out. It started out with her in laying bed like usual. Opening her eyes a few times to her room like normal. Until in the corner stood a dark shadow, a woman with long hair stood, just out of sight. But y/n knew she was there watching.
As her vision faded in and out the woman eventually stepped out. The light from the window shined down on her. Only to reveal the one and only Renesmee, her eyes dark with a straight expression, her mouth slowly started to open wide.
Revealing small but sharp fangs it made y/n startle out of her sleep. As she sat up Renesmee wasn’t in the room as she thought. Her window wasn’t open and there weren’t any tracks on the floor. But her heart was racing more than ever.
It was five am and y/n couldn’t go back to sleep for the life of her. She was way too freaked out to even think of lying down. Instead she hyped her self up with many cups of coffee. She did message Quil to try and hang but no answer from that guy either.
She was already not trying to overthink about the bonfire. But now she was starting to wonder did she mess up somehow? Or maybe their friends didn’t really care about her? She wasn’t sure but it was unusual for those two to ignore her.
Everything so far was making her feel so isolated. Was it truly a good idea to come back to the rez? This was what she was trying to escape, being alone in isolation, but it seems it what’s she’s walked into. Maybe even a worser case now with the delusions.
All day she spent it on the couch, the heavy rain seemed to match her mood, as she anxiously awaited nightfall. What would await for her when she fell asleep? She didn’t even want to fathom it. Listening to the rain pour down onto the house it calmed her slightly.
Watching the tv she began to slowly drift off to sleep. Feeling somehow safer on the couch with the dim light of the grey clouds. Eyes and body heavy as her eyes fluttered shut. It’d be best to get sleep while she could. Hoping not to see Renesmee once more.
Suddenly someone was knocking and pounding on her door. In a very erratic and panicked manner it shocked her. Sitting up she checked her phone but there were no messages. No one called her either it confused her who would be there.
“Please! Open up it’s me!” The girl begged as y/n recognized the voice. Rushing to open the door to reveal a rain soaked Kim. Standing there with tears streaming as she sobbed hard. “Kim?” y/n asked worried and concerned. “I need you” Kim sobbed out as she grabbed y/n’s shoulders.
Chapter 3 is finished 🤍 Finally settled into my home after moving in a short while ago. Got caught up with writing more. I wanted to write more insight into an outsiders perspective. How shifters and vampires would look like to ordinary people. Especially the tribe’s over all insight. The next few chapters will be interesting🤍
synopsis. being jensen's sister has many advantages. but being able to hang with his best friend? ugh, that one takes the trophy.
pairing. jared padalecki x jensen's lil sis!reader ﹢ smut ( mdni )
wordcount. 2.2K
warnings. foul language, best friend’s little sister trope, oral sex (f!receiving), jensen is literally asleep right there lol, and lies--so many lies!
being jensen's sister has many advantages.
like a permanent VIP pass to his dry, savage humor. like someone always picking up your calls, even at 3 a.m. like the kind of hugs that make you feel ten again, safe and known, a forever bodyguard in flannel.
but the best perk?
being able to hang with his best friend.
ugh. that one takes the trophy.
you’re sprawled out on their couch in vancouver, wearing borrowed sweatpants and a hoodie that is definitely not yours (you think it used to be jared’s but now it smells like you and it’s claimed, sorry not sorry). jared’s next to you, long legs taking up half the damn couch, popcorn bowl in his lap, that boyish smile tugging at his lips as he picks the next horror movie like it’s a sacred ritual.
"okay, okay, hear me out," he says, turning toward you like he's about to pitch a million-dollar idea. "we skip the cheesy remake and go full 80s slasher. blood, bad hair, screaming girls. classic."
"you mean, your type of film." you grin, poking him with your foot.
he catches your ankle before you can pull it back and holds it hostage across his lap. “my type of film is whatever makes you scream.”
you blink.
he blinks.
you both burst out laughing, borderline choking on popcorn.
"that came out wrong," he wheezes, turning red.
"nope, too late," you tease, biting your lip. "freudian slip. totally noted."
you’re still laughing when jensen walks in from the kitchen, holding a beer, staring at the two of you like you're speaking an alien language.
"...what’d I miss?"
jared immediately plays it cool, tossing popcorn into his mouth like a professional. “nothing. just talking about how your sister's a total wimp with scary movies.”
“am not!” you protest, scandalized.
jensen snorts. “you literally hid behind a pillow when we watched The Sixth Sense.”
“he was dead the whole time! it was traumatic!”
jared gives you that look, soft and secret and amused, like he’s known you forever. “i’ll protect you,” he murmurs under his breath, just loud enough for only you to hear.
your face heats up. and of course, you giggle. you hate that you giggle. but he does this thing with his voice—all low and teasing and safe—and suddenly your body forgets how to function like a normal human.
"you two are weird," jensen mutters, plopping onto the recliner with a sigh. "weird and annoying."
jared shrugs, completely unbothered. “must be genetic.”
you kick him in the shin—gently, lovingly—and he just grabs your foot again, this time squeezing your ankle like he might never let go.
you try not to look down at where his hand is. you fail.
but you also don’t move it.
the movie starts. the lights dim. jensen gets halfway through his beer before falling quiet, absorbed in the on-screen chaos.
but you?
you can’t focus.
not when jared shifts closer. not when his knee brushes yours and stays there. not when he leans in to whisper, “okay, but seriously, if you get scared, i got you.”
you roll your eyes. “what makes you think i’m scared?”
he grins. “because your pulse just jumped like, a lot.”
you gasp, swat his arm, and whisper back, “are you feeling my pulse right now? you little creep!”
"you put your leg on me first," he shoots back, smug.
and yeah, okay, maybe this is dangerous. maybe this thing—this quiet, giggly, heart-racing, secret-something—is a bad idea.
but when jared slouches just enough for your head to fall onto his shoulder, and you feel his cheek rest on your hair like it’s the most natural thing in the world?
you think maybe the danger's worth it.
“you comfy?” he murmurs.
“mmmhm.”
“cool,” he says, like he’s smiling with his whole soul. “don’t tell jensen.”
from the recliner, jensen glances over again. eyes narrow.
“why do you two keep whispering?”
jared deadpans: “we’re plotting your murder.”
you nod solemnly. “slow and painful.”
“cool,” jensen mutters, shaking his head. “remind me never to invite either of you to movie night again.”
but he doesn’t move.
and neither do you.
and jared?
he just rests his hand on your knee.
like he’s always known it belonged there.
── ⟢ ・⸝⸝
jensen’s been asleep for over an hour now. his beer’s half-finished, the movie’s long over, and his steady breathing from the recliner is the only thing keeping you and jared from totally losing it.
you’re still on the couch. still wrapped up in that blanket you both pretended was only for warmth, not for covering the way your legs were tangled or how your hand had been resting suspiciously high on his thigh.
but jared moves first.
slow. deliberate.
his fingers brush your jaw, turning your face toward his. his eyes search yours like he’s asking a question he’s dying to hear the answer to—and you give it to him without a word.
your lips meet.
and everything tilts.
the kiss is deep immediately, full of heat and tension that’s been crawling beneath your skin for weeks. he groans into your mouth, low and quiet, like he can’t help it, like it’s been living inside him for too long.
his hands slide into your hair, tugging gently. your fingers clutch his hoodie, dragging him closer, legs folding over his lap as you shift to straddle him like it’s the most natural thing in the world.
“jesus christ,” he whispers against your mouth. “been thinking about this every night since you got here.”
your hips rock down without permission, and oh god, he’s already hard under you—thick and hot and so responsive. he bites down on your lower lip when you grind again, hands locking around your waist.
“jared—”
he cuts you off with a kiss that steals the rest of your sentence, then breathes against your mouth, “shh. he’s right there.”
you nod.
but you move anyway.
you roll your hips again, slower this time, dragging a moan from him that’s just barely choked off.
his hands push up beneath your hoodie, fingertips skating across your bare skin, gripping your sides like he needs to ground himself. “fuck. can’t believe we’re doing this here.”
“you wanna stop?” you whisper.
“god, no.” he leans in to kiss your neck. “i wanna take you to my room and ruin you for anyone else.”
your breath catches—legs tightening around his waist—and he laughs softly against your throat, smug.
“but,” he says, licking a stripe just beneath your jaw, “i’ll settle for making you come on top of me in the living room.”
you gasp.
he pulls back enough to look at you, hair messy, pupils blown wide, lips already swollen. he looks like a man on the edge. and you love that it’s you who put him there.
“take this off,” he says, tugging at your hoodie. “quietly.”
you do—peeling it off and tossing it onto the floor. his eyes darken at the sight of your bare chest, and he palms your breast with one hand, mouth latching onto the other like he’s been waiting years for it.
you arch into him, biting down on your knuckle to keep from crying out.
“you’re so fucking perfect,” he breathes, kissing down your stomach now, hands guiding your hips until he’s the one flat on his back, and you’re straddling his chest.
“what are you—”
“shh,” he says, tugging your sleep shorts down, eyes never leaving yours. “i’ll be quiet. you just stay right here.”
and then he drags you up.
slowly. intentionally.
you realize what he’s doing a second too late—your thighs already trembling as he pulls you toward his mouth.
“jared—fuck, no—what if he wakes up—”
he grins, breath hot against your inner thigh. “then you better be really quiet, sweetheart.”
and then he licks you—broad, filthy, devastating—and your head drops back like gravity’s too much.
his hands grip your ass, holding you steady as he eats you out with the kind of focus that makes you wonder if he’s trying to memorize you. his tongue flicks and circles and presses until your thighs are shaking, your body soaked, and your hand is gripping the couch cushion behind him like a lifeline.
you come—silent, shaking, your lips parted around a gasp you don’t let out. he keeps going, tongue gentler now, like he’s easing you down, licking up every drop like he needs it.
and then?
he kisses your hip.
and smirks.
“you gonna return the favor?”
your eyes narrow. “cocky.”
“and hard as a rock,” he replies shamelessly.
and from the recliner?
a low groan.
jensen shifts in his sleep.
you and jared freeze.
then jared grins.
“…round two in my room?”
you grin back.
“quietly.”
── ⟢ ・⸝⸝
it starts like a fling.
just a thing that happened. once. maybe twice. maybe the whole week you were in vancouver, maybe every night after jensen went to sleep.
it’s fine.
you leave. you go back to texas. and jared?
he calls.
late.
always late.
“hey,” he whispers, voice raspy with sleep or work or missing you. “just… wanted to hear you.”
and it stays that way for a while.
little things.
text messages.
good morning gifs.
that one photo of him shirtless in his trailer that definitely wasn’t accidental.
you play it cool. keep it light. pretend you don’t replay your voicemails from him like a teenage girl.
but when you visit again—back in vancouver for jensen’s birthday—you both crack like it’s never been months apart.
he hugs you too long when you show up. you wear his hoodie again that night. and jensen narrows his eyes like something doesn’t smell right.
“you two good?” he asks casually, like it’s just brotherly curiosity.
you shrug. “yeah. jared’s just…jared.”
jared, who that very night, kisses you breathless in the guest bathroom after jensen goes to bed.
he doesn’t even make it past undressing you.
your back hits the wall, your dress shoved up around your hips, his mouth hot and desperate against your skin. he sinks to his knees, drags your panties down your legs with teeth, and eats you out like he missed you more than air.
“been thinkin’ about this for months,” he mumbles against you, licking you open, hands gripping your thighs. “tasted you in my dreams.”
you bite your fist, head thrown back, trying not to whimper as he gets filthy with it. slow, soft licks that turn ruthless. fingers curling deep inside you. your legs threaten to give out—he doesn’t stop until you’re shaking.
and then?
you return the favor.
on your knees, against the door, lips wrapped around him, tongue dragging across his slit. he doesn’t last long. he never does when it’s been this long.
you swallow every drop. kiss his hipbone.
and walk out like nothing happened.
but jensen isn’t stupid. he sees the hoodie. he hears the creaky floorboards at 3 a.m. he raises an eyebrow when jared trips over his words.
“you’ve been weird,” he says one night, staring jared down over a beer. “she’s my sister, dude.”
jared laughs—too loud. too fake. “what? no, man, it’s nothing. just… a lil platonic crush. both sides. harmless.”
jensen gives him a look.
“platonic crush?”
jared shrugs. “swear.”
jensen doesn’t look convinced.
but he lets it go.
for now.
it keeps going like that.
you come visit again.
you fuck in the laundry room. you fuck in the backseat of jared’s truck during a run to grab groceries. you fuck in jared’s room with a chair propped under the doorknob.
but it’s not just sex.
it’s the way he looks at you after.
like he’s scared to blink.
like you might disappear.
and the calls when you're back in texas turn softer. longer. he calls just to hear you talk about your day. he sends you videos of harley and sadie and his morning coffee. he tells you when he's tired, when filming sucks, when he can’t stop thinking about how you taste.
and you?
you’re just as wrecked.
you keep your vibrator in your nightstand. you keep his hoodie under your pillow. you keep this secret in your chest like it’s sacred.
until one night—one night—you’re sloppy.
jared kisses you on the patio while jensen’s inside getting more drinks.
his hands are on your hips. your fingers are in his hair. and you forget the open window. you forget your brother has eyes.
later, after you’re long gone—after jared swears up and down nothing happened—jensen says: “you’re lying.”
jared blinks. “what?”
“i saw you,” jensen says, arms crossed. “i’ve known. you think i didn’t notice the looks? the giggling? the suspiciously timed showers?”
jared sighs.
runs a hand through his hair.
“you gonna hit me?”
jensen stares. then—slowly—“not yet.”
“look,” jared starts, voice lower, more honest. “it started off casual. we didn’t mean for it to get… serious.”
“but it is,” jensen says flatly.
jared doesn’t answer.
doesn’t need to.
“i swear i’d never hurt her,” he says instead. “and if you ever need me to back off, i’ll do it. i’ll walk away.”
jensen stares at him a long moment.
then sighs.
“if you do hurt her,” he mutters, “i’ll bury your body in the woods.”
jared nods. “fair.”
and just like that… it isn’t a secret anymore. not really.
but it doesn’t stop the late-night calls. or the thigh-gripping kisses when you visit. or the way he whispers i love you when you come apart in his arms.
part I part II
A month had passed.
Slowly, you were healing from the horrible ordeal you had been through. Jake still came to sleep at your house almost every night. You kept up that routine for a few weeks, but after a while, you asked to try it alone. Even if he reluctantly agreed, he knew you needed to do this. So he promised to stay close the first night, ready to come in if you needed him. As it turns out, you were okay, and as days went by, you no longer needed him to keep watch hidden in the trees beside your house. Slowly, you were able to sleep all alone in your bed. You were incredibly proud of it, even if you missed having Jacob's warm body lying next to you at night.
You never spoke again of that night you confessed how everything gnawed at you. You thought about it often but never found the right time to discuss it. Since he hadn't mentioned it, you allowed it to go without answers for longer. You knew you'd end up getting to the bottom of it anyway.
The crisp autumn air ruffled your hair as you headed to the Reservation in your rusty truck, window pulled down, and music blasting, at least as much as your poor speakers could muster. You were incredibly excited to see everyone, and the prospect of hearing legends about the Quileutes made you tremble with excitement. You couldn't help but feel honored to be invited to these tribe gatherings. There weren't many outsiders allowed to hear the old tales.
You hadn't even parked your car when you saw Jacob's humongous form jogging for you. As always, a bright smile illuminated his tan face. And as always, you felt your knees wobble when you realized you were the recipient of such a beautiful thing. "Y/n! Over here!" He signaled for you to bring your truck closer to the backyard. Groaning, your truck obliged, and as soon as you shifted in park, your friend opened the door with a hand lifted for you to climb down. "Milady," he joked as his big hand engulfed yours.
Without letting go, he guided you to the rest of the tribe already gathered behind his little house. Some of the boys were working on making a big fire, and you were delighted to smell some delicious burgers being cooked over on the BBQ. Emily was busy ordering Sam and Paul around as she laid out plate after plate of delicious-looking food on a nearby table. You couldn't help a smile when you saw her swat Paul on the shoulder for not checking the patties often enough, and made a mental note to go and say hi to your friend as Jake pulled you in the opposite direction.
You reached the sitting area where Jacob's father and a few others were gathered, idly talking. You couldn't ignore the funny looks Quil and Jared kept giving you as you approached the little group. They whispered to each other, giggling like little gossips before Jake gave them the darkest look you'd ever seen to shut them up. You ignored their odd behaviour but couldn’t shake the feeling that something was going on.
Before you could ask anyone about it, Paul announced the food was ready, and slowly the small crowd went over to fill their plates. After filling up yours with more food than you could ever ingest, Jake guided you to his friends with one hand on the small of your back. Its iridescent presence you could never ignore made shivers run down your spine. Small touches like this one were becoming more and more familiar between the two of you. Even so, you didn’t think you would ever get used to the delicious warmth it always spread in your body.
You all sat around the fire, eating merrily the food Emily prepared and as you joked with everyone, you were once again surprised by how comfortable you felt around them all. How natural it felt for you to be with them. To sit by Jake's side, his thigh pressed against yours as if any space between your bodies was intolerable.
You were caught in a conversation with Seth, the sound of laughter and excited conversation filling your ears. Jake’s presence by your side made you feel so content and safe. Until one minute you were laughing with Seth, and the next you felt Jacob getting up. "Everything okay?" you asked. You didn't hear what was said but were aware that he was talking with Quil and that their tone had gotten heated before abruptly stopping.
"Yeah, just gonna get something to drink." he curtly answered.
You gave him a quick smile, knowing by the expression on his face he was not okay. Which was later confirmed by the way he sat next to you but kept a very noticeable distance. You didn't comment on it, not wanting to make a scene, but when you focused on your plate again hunger had completely left you.
"Hey, don't mind him, Y/n. Quil's an idiot," whispered Seth.
You looked at him with question marks in your eyes. "Oh, sorry, I thought you heard what he said. Uhm, he just said something about how you and Jake acted like a couple."
You turned your head in Jake's direction, but despite your pointed stare, his eyes would not drift in your direction. You analyzed the distance between the two of you, feeling a sharp pain in your heart. That would explain Quil and Jared’s odd behaviour earlier and the death stare Jacob had given them. You had thought it was simply because he didn’t want them to tease you. Now, you had the sinking feeling his reaction was due to another reason completely.
The night merrily carried on until late, the elders had gone home and it was only the pack and you left around the fire. The joyous heat had simmered to hot embers, encouraging you to scoot closer, chasing the warmth.
Jake kept looking over at you, an ounce of worry in his dark eyes. He was still far away, not making eye contact or talking with you. Your frustration at his distant behaviour had only grown during the night but when he suddenly signaled for you to follow him and walked towards his car you followed without hesitation. You looked at him open the door, fetching something on his seat, and back out. He walked closer and handed you his coat.
"I saw you shivering. Thought you could use this." His tone was low and even here, alone and away from the group he avoided your eyes. You stared at the piece of clothing in your hands, more confused than you'd ever been. A petty part of you, angry at him for acting so distant wanted to refuse and walk away. But the part of you that was freezing its ass off couldn't refuse the perspective of more warmth.
You wrapped it around your shoulders as you looked at him. "So this is what this is about. You only wanted to give me this?" His failure to answer only made you sigh deeper with annoyance. "I'm so confused, Jake." You didn't have to add anything, from the way he looked at you and the sigh he let out, you knew he knew. "You've been acting so weird but keep behaving like nothing's going on. Tonight, I mean, what is that? I come here, you look happy to see me. Then suddenly Quil says some dumb shit and you get as far away from me as possible. What's up with that? Are you ashamed? Is that what this is?"
He sharply looked up from the ground. An animal light fired up his eyes. "I would and will never feel ashamed of being with you. Never."
"Then what's going on? Tell me. Ever since that night, you've been acting differently."
You had reached a new level of intimacy in your friendship that night a month ago. You both shared private information, deciding to trust and rely on each other. But that night, there were also a lot of secrets still kept.
"Y/n I- I can't."
"Can't what? Jake, tell me. I can weather it. Whatever it is."
His body shook under the intensity. He seemed to be fighting his whole self to get the words out. Then it clicked. You remembered a year ago when you'd seen him in such a state. When he started his transformation, Sam had forbidden him from telling you. You only discovered his secret when you infiltrated his house and found him half wolf, half human in the most terrifying process you had ever seen. Your blood started boiling in your veins.
"Are you fucking kidding me? This, again?" You turned to look at the people gathered around the fire a few meters away. Your gaze zoomed in on its target. Sam, laughing with Emily sitting at his side. "I'm done with this."
You stormed over to the bonfire and planted yourself in front of the leader. Sam looked up at you with a laid-back smile which quickly disappeared when he noticed you were fuming with rage.
"Y/n, is everything okay?" he carefully asked, then he looked back at Jacob running up behind you. A shadow passed in his gaze.
"You know what's wrong. You're doing it again. This is the thing I hate the most about your powers, Sam. Taking away someone's right to talk is wrong. Especially when it puts him in pain." You pointed to Jake, not taking your eyes away from Sam. You heard Jacob mumbling for you to calm down and let it go, but ignored him. "This needs to end."
"Y/n..." he started. You noticed the complete silence surrounding you and the tense look he kept giving Jacob.
Sam was an honest guy. He was a great leader who always took responsibility and ownership of his actions. The fact that he wasn't saying anything wasn't like him at all. He had never tried to deny the orders he gave in the past. Realization shook your core as you felt a deep sadness pierce your stomach. "You're not the one who asked Jake not to tell me anything." You turned to look at your friend, the truth written on his face. "You asked him."
His failure to answer was the only confirmation you needed. A storm of thoughts and emotions took control of your senses. Dread, dismay and then burning rage took hold of your brain. "Why." The simple word sounded harsh and rough coming from your mouth.
"Y/n, please let it go," he begged in a whisper.
"This is so dramatic for nothing. I don't get what's the big deal and why he would ever ask that," you heard someone mumble. Everyone turned to look at Quil, who froze under the sudden weight of the attention. "What? It's the truth. There's no reason he should ever want to hide that Y/n's..."
Faster than your human senses could comprehend Jacob had pounced on his friend. Throwing him off the seat he was in, he trapped him on the ground. Even if Quil was also a werewolf, there was no way he could ever fight Jacob off right now.
"You shut the fuck up. This has nothing to do with you." Jacob's voice sounded poisonous. Immediately, the other members got to their feet, ready to pull them apart. Jacob seemed like he was taller and meaner. Long gone was the sunshiney smile you loved so much. At that moment, he was more wolf than human. "This is my business. She is my business and no one else."
Everybody looked at the ground, no one would cross eyes with you. The sound of his voice when he uttered these words, the way his body seemed to be angled to protect you even if he was a few feet away. You had seen this behavior before and had observed it a thousand times in Sam's behavior toward Emily or in Paul's toward Rachel. Another realization hit you like the impact of a collision between two asteroids.
Your eyes were fixed on Jacob’s back, still turned to you. Even then, you could feel it. You always knew. Some part of you always knew. That bond between the two of you was stronger than just love or friendship. It was destined, you were two parts of the same soul.
You staggered, feeling light-headed, when a gentle touch at your elbow stabilized you. Emily stood beside you, helping you stay collected and brushing your back with comforting strokes.
"Breathe Y/n." You barely heard her but listened to her words. Fresh air filled your lungs and steadied you. You looked back at Jacob who had immediately released Quil when he saw your reaction. Worry was written on his face. You hoped he could read the fury written on yours.
You walked up to him and stopped when you were barely inches away. For the first time that night, Jacob looked thrown off. You searched his eyes before you started screaming. "YOU IDIOT?? WHY WOULD YOU NOT WANT ME TO KNOW I'M YOUR IMPRINT? YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TRY AND FORBID ME TO KNOW THAT." You stepped back, and turned on yourself, grabbing at your hair like a mad woman. "I can't BELIEVE you hid that from me. I can't believe you tried to do that. WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT? WHAT IS SO WRONG WITH ME? Is this what it is? You don't want to be with me? The thought of being with me was so abhorrent that you asked your leader to FORBID you from telling me?"
Your eyes filled to the brim with angry tears as you confronted him. He chuckled, a dry thing, devoid of any real amusement. "How can you even say that? Now I am an asshole for wanting you to have a choice? For wanting you not to feel obliged to be with me because of some ancient wolf thing? For wanting you to have a choice to escape this life you would have with me?" His eyes were feverish, a particular kind of pain shining in them.
"What- what do you even mean?"
"After what happened to you, I didn't want you to feel tied to me, the reason you were almost killed. That's something I can never change Y/n. Danger and threat will follow me wherever I go." His shoulders slumped miserably. "It's not fair of me to profit from the imprinting process to have you with me. To have you be with someone like me."
There was no sound except for the singing crickets in the night and the sound of the fire softly dying out.
"Jake..." His words extinguished any fire in your chest. You understood better than anyone else the feeling of wanting to protect someone you cared about. You delicately took his face in your hands, "Jacob Black. I want you to understand this and get it through your thick skull. That was not your fault. None of this is. No matter what happened, I... I wouldn't change it. The night of the incident, I remember how happy I was walking to you and the rest of the pack." At that, you looked with love and respect at all the members still surrounding you.
"You can't say that," he whispered painfully, tears in his chocolate eyes. You exhaled and forced his chin up so he'd look at you. "I mean it. I knew you were at Emily's and I know I would still make the same choice of walking over there to be with you. There are no other possible options for me when it comes to you. I need to be where you are."
The atmosphere changed and the other members took it as their exit signal and left you two under the stars. A soft light illuminated his eyes as he looked at you. "How could you ever think I wouldn't want to be with you?" You felt his hands warm your cold cheeks. "Are you really that blind? It's always been you, Y/n. You've changed the trajectory of my life from the moment I laid eyes on you. Even before the wolf stuff, I always knew you were the one for me. I love you Y/n."
A warm fuzzy feeling spread from your head to your toes as you listened to the soft timber of his voice in the cold night. Nothing else mattered at that moment, it was only you and him and the confession he just shared with you.
"So you asked Sam to forbid you from telling me so I could have a choice?"
He nodded, "I didn't trust myself to keep the secret, I can't keep anything from you. If you want to be with me, I want it to be because you... love me, not because you feel you have to respect some ancient wolf thing ritual." You heard his hesitation to utter the word love. Even after all the time you had spent together, doubt and fear still had their claws embedded in his brain.
"You say I must be blind not to have seen your feelings for me, but I'd say you aren't better. Ever since we were kids, it has always been you. The boy who made mud pies with me. My best friend. The person who supported me through everything. The man. The werewolf. You, in all your forms, Jacob. I am yours, and I think I have always been."
He let out a shaky breath, his dark eyes transfixed on your face, his hands limp at his side. He nervously licked his lips, "Can I kiss you?"
You nodded imperceptibly, the rhythm of your own heart accelerating as he bent down. You felt his soft breath fan over your lips and waited patiently until his plush lips met yours. This new contact solidified something inside of your chest, the bond connecting the two of you seemed to tighten, a clear presence you couldn’t ignore anymore. You melted completely into his embrace when his strong arms wrapped around your body, holding you up as your knees wobbled under the intensity of the moment.
You were home. You had found him. Your forever.
Your Jacob.
favorite sam looks
ok as usual not rated in any particular order bc my brain can’t do that and i’ve definitely forgotten some but here’s some that first come to mind. edit: ok so too vague a question for me clearly this got away from me a bit lmao. (also i made a rule to include no different versions of sam. just our sam. so no l!sam or wesson or anything)
naturally her psych ward swag is incredibly near and dear to my heart. she’s so incredibly distressed and whumpy and gorgeous how can you not adore her… the eyebags! the hand wrap! the scruff and disheveled hair! the all white! the single layer! mwah. was my pfp for a reason.
i really this green striped shirt and her gorgeous looong hair pushed behind the ears. great combo. feels very sam to me. i think the sam i draw often looks like this i feel like i channel her often.
this suit looks very nice on her and i think the tie is pretty. also she just looks incredibly adorable here. love her hair. very Girl in Suit.
this is basic but its a classic for GOOD reason. the tiny jacket and shirt + low hanging jeans + undies and tummy peaking out ? hello ??? ok miss cunt i see you.
god i love this one. first of all love that brown jacket and i love the deep blue shirt underneath as well. (second gif is a diff shirt but its a similar color and these are only two eps apart so i'll put them together.) her hair is of course darling here as well. what really tops it all off is her adorable sick little face w pink nose and eyebags... she looks so good sickly <3 she just looks very comfy to me like i really need to hug her it would fix me.
also kinda basic but i think there is absolutely something to be said of the brown carhartt jacket layered over her bedazzled denim twink mechanic fit. slay.
do i even need to say anything. you understand. she fits that shirt real nice. :)
thee simple gray tee... so soft and comfy looking. very nice boob exposure. i would like to snuggle with her. and perhaps use her ample bosom as a pillow. the second gif had to be added for scientific purposes.
simple gray shirt part dos. long sleeves edition.... even comfier. not to mention her sleepy disheveled-ness. precious.
really love this sweater, the details on the arms are cool and this is something i would 100% wear. i like to imagine this is the kind of thing sam often wore when at stanford.
i reallyyy like this blue shirt. the shirt my mini sam often wears is inspired by this one specifically. also i wanted to include this gif. slut waist cameo.
are you seeing this. beautiful woman in suit. i love you season 8 sam.
i love this green striped shirt (hi again) + green jacket combo. because she is just so beautiful in green and it really bring out her eyes. also her messy voluminous hair ofc.
her limp mommy bob and messed up face are so dear to me... battered wife core. not pictured here but her arm sling adds extra points.
sweaty + damp hair + athleisure. rare sam look. and im licking her clean. (love how that's more of a jared thing but he's just so undeniably sam here like that's not jared lol)
blue striped shirt and pink flannel. she looks beautiful in blue and pink what more can i say. very cute.
once again. Are You Seeing This. what the fuck......... her beautiful hair and sideburns.....
just keith the bartender in general really. she was so sexy...
love the brown polo over the long-sleeve. her early 2000s swag. those jeans are really cute too.
she just looks so Wife here. so Mama. i want to bring Her a tea and tuck her hair behind her ears. wow.
i love this flannel because its my favorite color combo brown and blue... also her Da Fog sickness and black eye really elevate the whole look (totally didnt pick this just bc of that ofc not...) so battered and lovely <3
the most basic of them all but her pilot fit is nothing to sneeze at. her two little jackets. her purple tee. baby.
and these. also. :)
this did not get away from me at all. anyways what was i talking about.
#really asked this to the guy with a whole tag dedicated to stunning sam looks#post sponsored by 2sw. thank you for my life#asks
