I love the them. The superior ryosuke ship(sorry takuryo shippers, no beef just not my thing). They all work so well together. Support group for each other. Each helping out with each other’s anxieties. There needs to be more of them together but alas. I need them all to elope in mfg and escape to a sheepy countryside maybe in Europe.

And that’s why he finds Takumi so very intriguing. While Keisuke worries about Takumi winning or losing in a race like this, Ryousuke only becomes more interested in seeing what he can do. 

And as to whether or not they should check it out? For both brothers, it’s not even a question...

Ryo practices (secretly) making delicious curry for Takuma. When the big day arrives Ryo will feel nervous about letting him taste it, no matter how disinterested his expression may be in what the other might think...as his heart races and he indulges in pessimistic thoughts Takuma tastes the curry and his eyes light up "It's delicious. You're such a good cook Ryo!"

And Ryo…his face has gone all red and he knows he can't stop grinning like a dork.

"W-well, I'm glad if you...like it...good to know!"

BONUS:

Minoru sees the scene and starts teasing Ryo: "Congratulations Ryo senpai, you're on your way to becoming a good wife for Takuma~" Ryo: "SHUT UP YOU IDIOT!"

I like to imagine that Kunemon is the first to notice Ryo's crush on Takuma and then starts doing his best to create the right situations that allow the two to be alone and bond. Agumon will become his "partner in crime" but sometimes he might make Kunemon regret involving him.

Agumon suddenly enters the classroom: Takuma! Ryo! Did you do that thing??? Hmm...how was it? Kis-

Kunemon: KEW KEEEEEEW!!! *nervous*

“I’m the only one who can beat him.”

Ryosuke coming with that confidence and making it clear that the only worthy opponent for a downhill specialist like Takumi… is him! Ryousuke soon gets into the habit of stating that he wants to race Takumi, and the more often Takumi beats other opponents, the more likely it seems that Ryousuke’s words might, indeed, be true… He may very well be the only man able to take Takumi on…

“The real contest is only about to begin.”

It’s cute that Keisuke considers himself to be “on Takumi’s side” already. And it’s nice to see that Ryousuke hasn’t lost his sense of excitement to see what Takumi can really do on the downhill. 

Although Keisuke questioned Ryosuke’s belief in Takumi for a moment, he needn’t fear because, just like Keisuke, Ryosuke also has high expectations for Takumi to come out on top.

First of all - lol! at Ryousuke just roasting his brother with that comment about him being left in the dust, however it does go to show that he states the facts - and the fact is that he’s acknowledged Takumi as a rather formidable racer. 

That said, it’s not like Keisuke even takes offence to that little jab because it’s the truth and, like his brother, he too knows, first-hand, just how tough an opponent Takumi can be. With his own pride on the line, all Keisuke wants is for Takumi to win.

Dual-ship vibes again as both brothers are both entranced by Takumi as he goes up against Nakazato. 

Keisuke watches every move and every trick in awe - taking it all in, whereas Ryousuke spends his time concentrating and calculating those moves with every turn - so much so that even Keisuke has noticed the change in his brother. 

They both have their reasons for why Takumi intrigues them, and the more they watch, the more their interest grows.

“What about that Eight-Six? He slid through that narrow turn.”

How dare Ryousuke praise another car aside from the 86? Well, Keisuke will see to that he doesn’t forget just how incredible Takumi and his 86 are. And as if to confirm it, Takumi pulls off another move that has both brothers in awe!

“The monster isn’t the car... but the driver?!”

Interest: piqued! He knows nothing of Takumi but, already, he’s interested to know about the driver of the 86. He’s definitely behind the game since his brother has already started his obsession, but it’s better late than never!

All eyes on you 86 and both these brothers are just dying to know…

The more Ryousuke talks about the attributes of the driver, the more his intrigue grows and the greater his interest in Takumi becomes. While he might not be pleased that his brother was defeated, he does respect that Takumi could only pull it off as a result of his dedication to that mountain road. Either way, he’s earned a few points in Ryousuke’s book, for sure.
