     “ haeil... ” he murmured tiredly. he liked to think his decision to cut things off with the other was for the good of the both of them instead of out of selfishness. they were doomed from the start, people would say. haeil and taksoo had such wide eyes for each other and such burning ache for the world. choosing one one would mean losing the other and unfortunately, they couldn't have everything they wanted. “ it was inevitable and you know it. i just decided to rip the band-aid off instead of dragging it out. ”

     most of the time, haoyu would surprise him with his familiarity, leaving taksoo momentarily speechless and uncertain of how to respond. “ i don't know why i didn't think to do that. wouldn't that be out of line to ask? but i'd love to come and see you perform, ” he said, managing a polite smile as he led haoyu out of the theatre. while taksoo hadn't pursued the arts as haoyu had, he always had a deep appreciation for performances; a passion born from his younger years. “ you know, i used to be quite the athlete when i was younger. competitions, the rush of performance and pushing my own limits were a big part of my life. ”

'you know, if you are that keen on coming, you can just ask me,' haoyu chuckled. 'it is not like we are a super exclusive or overly popular production so i can get you a ticket without any issues, just let me know which day works best for you and it shouldn't be too difficult to arrange.' he'd be more than happy to assist the other if he wanted to come, haoyu was always excited to see familiar faces. 'for now, let's focus on the kidnapping,' he teased with a smirk. 'i am ready to go!'

     he wanted to protest– to tell mikee that he did care, but he understood why he felt that way, given the circumstances and the choices he had made. there was a moment of hesitation at first, thinking it wasn't the right time to have this conversation with him but as he observed the other's intoxicated state, he came to a realization that perhaps this was the only time when he could be closest to unreservedly honest without mikee remembering it later. “ you knew what you were getting into, mikee. if not me, it would've been you betraying me, or even worse... ” he murmured quietly, his hand remained firm on the other. “ my endgame wasn't to fuck you over. i let my heart rule over my head despite knowing we were doomed from the start. a reckless act on my part, sure. but what did you expect? we both knew that happy ending was never in sight for us. ”

" with a clenched jaw, he reached out with a gentle touch, his thumb lightly brushing against it. he couldn't deny the urge to make his colleagues pay– to teach them a lesson, but he quickly dismissed it. that should be dealt with later. " let's get you patched up and changed into something clean. "

     ᘛ⁐ᕐᐷ 🧀   𓈒ㅤ⋅    the insult stings a little, but taksoo is right. rather than admitting or acknowledging it, though, yooseung clicks his tongue, roughly wiping some blood off the corner of his mouth. "at least i didn't pussy out—i fucking defended you," he grumbles, glaring down at his now blood-stained sleeves, "and it was two of them against me. can't you at least act a little more grateful?"

     he would be lying if he said he didn't feel his chest tighten at mikee's words, his jaw clenched as he tried to suppress it but he knew better than to indulge the other's clearly intoxicated request. taksoo maintained a façade of indifference and maybe a little bit of annoyance, trying to distance himself emotionally from the situation but he found himself reaching out involuntarily to steady the other. “ i think we've said everything there was to say the last time we saw each other. we're not having this conversation again, mikee. especially not when you're like this. christ... how much have you had to drink? ”

     taksoo couldn't help but chuckle to himself, amused by the impeccable timing of his visit, as well as haoyu's readiness to leave the premise. “ i've never met anyone so thrilled to be 'kidnapped' for an ice cream. are you sure you enjoy what you do? ” he remarked playfully as he strolled along, but still made a mental reminder of the other's schedule to ensure that they would have enough time without rushing. “ hm, i wonder if i can still get my hands on the tickets for your play... i should be off off work most evenings. ”

he still wondered if there was more to the younger's visit but he would not be the one to act suspicious, maybe it was just like that and haoyu certainly did not mind a break. why not spend it with somebody? 'well, this is your lucky day then. i only work tonight, our current stage play is usually set around the evening hours, meaning i am free to be kidnapped until then! lead the way, i am right behind you.'
