about gene!!!
we made her for the purpose of an unfinished fic. shes supposed to be the "maidler" (maid+butler) of ai seeyu, who we hc is fiiiilthy rich. she and ai are best friends, and they have this sort of symbiotic relationship?
ai does all the talking when guests are over, and generally does anything that needs any sort of Smarts, because gene doesnt like to speak much and isnt very book smart. on the other side though, gene loves to do house chores and take care of ai, and do basically anything that needs heavy lifting, which we hc ai cant do due to disability.
theyre around the same age id say? im not really sure. gene doesnt attend the school as of the fic, but i like to think it starts attending after the events of said fic!!!!! she hangs out with the one star students pretty much exclusively. shes really shy.
also yes her design and name are a vague nod to the jackbox character gene! we conceptualized her first with the idea of a maid/butler character that we could make a fesh pince joke out of, so we started with the nickname "g" and bibi just went uhhh GENE for its actual name LOL

about lucky!!!
lucky we first thought of with the concept of "sor oc with a voiceclaim of skullvolver" that i THINK came right after the godgame stream with the iconic payphone bit?? cause we were like oh skull is the only one on this stream not in sor. thatd be funny to make as a joke. ...it was quickly no longer a joke. the voiceclaim part isnt super serious though LOL he sounds like that annoying ppl as spiderman bit
we came up with the name lucky hapigo because name puns are very fitting with sor, and it kinda fit well with the personality we wanted to give him!!!! lucky is basically as his name says!!! happy go lucky!!!! hes in the hero club, a very small club of two tokusatsu type heroes who get no work because raven is saving the day all the time before they get a chance. hes pissed at her for it.
initially i was gonna make raven and lucky cousins? im still on the fence about it. currently not canon to his lore but idk it still could be LOL
ALSO I OC X CANON SHIP HIM WITH ZERO. YKNOW THE GOKU KNOCKOFF ONE STAR STUDENT. THAT GUY. i thought itd be funny and cute LOL. theyre really cute together in my heart. two very nice boys who are kind of dumb and need to spar with everything that moves.
also lucky LOOOOVES idols. hes strawberrys biggest fan and clams up when hes near her LOL hes always cheering for her!!!!!!
his toku fit currently doesnt exist i havent designed it LOL. i dont think he has a Full helmet, just a half one with a visor and lets his ponytail stick out the back. its probably very magical "girl"/idol adjacent though. idk!!!!

When it comes to media I enjoy I get so much brain-rot, and zuchiyeni’s idol! Au has been plaguing me, so I thought I’d share for anyone mildly interested. And I’m definitely totally not procrastinating.
these are just headcanons (?) and ideas mwaha.
I WANT TO TALK ABOUT IDOL DREAM✨ because it’s dream.

VOICE WISE , I think it’s pretty universal in fandom to imagine dream’s voice as more ✨feminine✨ (correct me if I’m wrong).
But an au that contains SINGING provides OPPORTUNITY. See, Dream’s well known , recognizable, popular, surely he is unique in some way. “Pretty voice” is Great and all, But he gives me ‘actually talented vocalist’ vibes. like. Imagine he’s got this really pretty atmospheric voice, pretty normal idea. Now ELEVATE THAT. Imagine he has the vocal capacity to be gritty. I’d ASSUME that’s not their music style typically (I have no idea what their music will be like to be clear) but just the ABILITY. To be really raw and powerful. And it comes out sometimes *ascends* that makes it more interesting imo. He’s sweet, mipy cinnamon roll. But boy could keep up with like a metal band if he wanted. That’s just equally funny and amazing.
I have example ideas but I’ll leave that out unless someone wants em so that this isn’t torture text to read hhhhh.

My brain is also convinced that dream gets passionate in that way when he’s absorbed in emotions rather than performance. Like, if he’s invested in a song, he sometimes disassociates. That’s when the most impressive performances happen either way, I imagine ink and blue let it happen and just keep an eye on him. subtly snap him out of it afterwards.

He really likes Error. As a celebrity. I have an explanation I promise. Original Dreamtale Dream, according to the creator, has a respect for error. INTERESTING, right? You’d think their opposing morals would suggest otherwise?
This is ME interpreting (SIDE TANGENT)⚠️
But maybe Dream sees some of himself, or understands Error despite not interacting much. The both have a conviction, a belief, and they adhere to/ act on that. …alone. ERROR is convinced that alternates of the original world are bad, so he’s convicted to take care of it. It’s HIS responsibility in his mind. And the task is IMPOSSIBLE. he knows that deep down. But he tries, and he's all alone in it.
DREAM has been conditioned to believe that his worth/ purpose/ existence all ties back to making sure everyone is happy. That’s IMPOSSIBLE. But, he’s convicted of this as his sole purpose. So he tries. And he knows it’s impossible. And he’s all alone in it. They are both just isolated. So while dream doesn’t necessarily agree with him, specifically his erm, methods. (Cause dream DOES understand balance and probably can somewhat understand his pov) he doesn’t hate him, he has RESPECT. EVEN MORE INTERESTING IF YOU INCLUDE INK. He may align with Inks values MORE than Errors. He’s respectful towards and works together with Ink. But I think Ink has lost his respect. It’s confirmed that in dreamtale, dream and ink have some sort of falling out. There’s broken trust. Imagining inks response to dream not disliking error as much as he should is interesting. Lmao ig they both have drama with ink. (END SIDE TANGENT)⚠️
ANYWAYS. Back to applying this to Idol! Error strikes me as a more ‘senior’ idol. I’m just imagining dream enjoys watching his performances and keeping up with his fanbase, just. Happily watching interviews and listening to his music sometimes. <3 Does he entirely emulate him? no X) he just liked him. And if he takes notes sometimes, that’s his business.

I’m going to assume we all already are guessing dream and nightmare have some sort of drama🤪. I really like the idea of the MT.trio and The Stars performing together , despite probably being rivals, but I wonder if MT.trio looking up to Nightmare would affect that. Like, depending on how the twins feel towards each other, Nm might be like ‘avoid dat biatch’ and the trio is like ‘yes yes, very bad’ 😪✨ (also if what are their FANBASES like???? Like interacting with each other?? Drama much?) also I guess this could apply to Error. Is he a rival to nightmare? Are they friendly? Either way, does he care much about nightmares opinion? If they are RIVALS him interacting with dream and crew is funny.
(I imagine blue is friends with like everyone anyway. And ink probably would tolerate him if he had to.) but If nightmare is negative towards dream, and Error is a friend of his, it’s kind of great imagining Error just being chill and aloof but mentally assessing dream when they interact, keeping in mind what nightmare has said. Next time nightmare complains about his brother errors like ‘lol ur little bro seems perfectly normal but ok hoe B)’ *proceeds to hang with both of them*

fuck it we ball im talking about my langue headcanons

i think langue is an asshole towards people. they pretend not to be but they are. they have this "professional" character that theyre always playing where theyre perfect and flawless and an expert and most importantly theyre Better than everyone. and then as soon as something goes wrong they immediately crumble and suddenly theyre a sopping wet mess because they cant handle the idea of being imperfect
almost so many of their thoughts toward others (besides their parents maybe) are just nitpicks. Theyre constantly putting others down in their head (and sometimes to their face through backhanded compliments or just rude remarks) because they feel the need to be better than them. they need to feel Superior!!! they need to feel Better! because if they arent, who are they? what was the point of all of their hard work? what is the use of all of their constant effort if theyre just the same as everyone else? Of Course theyre better and everyone else sucks in comparison. theyre perfect. theyve worked so hard to be.
they want attention So Bad. they spent all their childhood sitting at reccess reading books or studying instead of going to their highschool prom and doing schoolwork during their familys camping trip and now Their whole life is work and success and they dont know anything else. they dont know how to make friends they dont know how to TALK TO PEOPLE!!! they only know how to argue ! they keep raising the bar for themself, setting higher and higher goals because surely once they hit a certain point theyll be famous and everyone will praise them and theyll have all the attention in the world and all their hard work will have paid off!!!! and then they Finally get that after taking rogueforts case theyre so POPULAR!!!! and then they get burnt out and their parents force them to go on vacation because theyre overworking themself to an unhealthy point L.
but theyve only known work all their life so they get to the island and theyre like. Huhhh.... whaat..... what do i do. how do i be productive here when im not allowed to work. (their ass does NOOT know how to relax)
i dont know how to fix them at this point they are sooo far gone its drilled into their head. Their parents didnt realize how unhealthy their mindset was until it was too late because at first they just seemed smart and passionate about learning but dear god they Cannot relax for the life of them and they dont know how to make relationships and they have such a big ego problem. people tell them to take a break and not overwork themself and theyre like Ummm thats quitter talk!!! only LOSERS are lazy like that! i didnt get this far by doing nothing! someone throw them into the trash compactor IMMEDIATEELELYYY

Hereby sending you one legally-binding permit to talk about Placeholder. Whether it's a single trivia point or a whole wall of text, whatever you feel is right, whatever you want to say, I wanna hear it. Talk about your weirdo on main <- this is an order
so i had a ramble about placeholder several months ago, my points still stand to this day but there's one(1) new article of (the character, or AA) of him (thank you harryblank for the blorbo content even if it was for the author's birthday 😭😭😭) since im fascinated by his existence in february id like to take this opportunity to further explain why i would like to put him(or them as a collective) under the microscope:

1. there's a visible effort to differentiate between placeholders in the multiverse via subtle yet stark depictions of personality.
starting with Words of Power and Poison & ARCHETYPICALS placeholder (for my fingers' sake im calling him og43 placeholder), he may be vey well versed in several branches of parasciences, but not so much in social interactions. sometimes he comes off as blunt, inpatient(there's at least 3 instances of him fuming because hes frustrated at explaining) and occupied in his thoughts and interests(pataphysics cough cough and hes aware of it). sure, he does seem to know all, but the way he was written is never irritating to the readers, attributing to the flaws as a normal human being. also he cant compete with wettle but he sure has loser swag.
ADMONITION placeholder (phmd) who came in a darker WoPaP timeline, is different. he's still a smartass, but compared to the og43 counterpart, he holds more discourse power in meetings, and as a fellow phmd enjoyer has pointed out he's pretty good at manipulating people into achieving his goals, even if he's in the wrong, maybe because hes like in the director/specialist level in this canon and naturally has more power and confidence. plus he does shady things in almost all admo entries so im curious how this would play out in future articles.
Abbie... she's more hysterical, perhaps because of the anomaly, desperate to prevent an inevitable catastrophe that would affect her timeline. she also occasionally shows off, kinda reminds me of lillian in that fashion.
unfortunately ive not much to say about the HMCL supervisor cause INTEGER hasnt happened yet and he serves as a side character/ plot driver in this scp.
but i appreciate theres an effort of keeping them all somewhat different from one another.
2. the reason why hes a mipy rather than a babygirl in my opinion
his drip is awful.

I spy with my little eye…a thousand other eyes looking back at me. Almost everywhere we look in today's world, we find image sensors. The typical smartphone has at least two, and some contain up to five. Devices such as security cameras, in-car cameras, smart doorbells, and baby monitors can look in all directions, keep a watchful eye open 24 hours a day, and alert us when something happens. Drones use cameras to see where they are going and to capture images that are sometimes utilitarian, sometimes breathtaking, and sometimes otherwise impossible for humans to see. And these are just the sensors most of us see and use in our daily life. Sensors also perform manufacturing and quality control on manufacturing lines around the world, scan deep within our bodies to detect disease or injury without surgery, and monitor thousands of planes, trains, ships, and trucks every day.
Image sensor capacity, performance, cost, and usability have all radically improved in the past decade. Every sensor technology change opens up more possibilities for how and where they can be used. Every new sensor application seems to spark yet another idea of making some aspect of our lives easier, safer, faster, or more enjoyable. For example, image sensors connected to the internet, which includes all those cell phones, doorbell cameras, and drones, is one of the fastest growing segments of this market, with a 34% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) through 2025 (figure 1).

One of the most obvious growth trends in sensor technology is in image sensor pixel count. in 2007, the original iPhone launched with a 2MP camera. By 2014, the iPhone 6 camera was at 8MP. Today the iPhone 13 Pro has a 12MP sensor, representing a 12% annual CAGR over the years. Of course, that isn't even close to the highest pixel count on a smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has a 108MP sensor, which puts the CAGR for their sensor MP at 33% over the last 14 years. And this growth isn't stopping—there are many projects in the works for 300+MP image sensors.
Image sensors are also dramatically growing in complexity on multiple levels, driven by four main system objectives— image quality, power, capability, and cost. Rarely are these constraints independent, and each chip design prioritizes different objectives, depending on the intended application space.
These prioritized system objectives drive different design choices for the image sensor chip and the overall system. Now that 2.5D and 3D stacking of chips is a commodity process, many image sensor companies are taking advantage of layering to drive new image sensor solutions (figure 2). The technology in these stacked solutions typically fall into two broad categories—in-pixel processing to improve the quality and reduce the cost of the image capture itself, and on-die processing to minimize power and cost and improve security [1].

Researchers at Harvard recently developed an in-sensor processor that can be integrated into commercial silicon image sensor chips. On-die image processing, in which important features are extracted from raw data by the image sensor itself instead of a separate microprocessor, speeds up visual processing [2]. Sony just released a sensor that can simultaneously output full-pixel images and high-speed "regions of interest." This combination of sensor and on-die processing allows the solution to simultaneously output an entire scene, like a traffic intersection, as well as high-speed objects of interest, such as license plates or faces, greatly reducing overall system communication bandwidth while increasing response time.
In another approach to sensor integration, Sony's newest image sensor design [3] separates the photodiodes and pixel transistors that are normally placed on the same substrate, places them on different substrate layers, and then integrates them together with 3D stacking. The result is a sensor that approximately doubles the saturation signal level (essentially its light-gathering capability) to significantly improve the dynamic range and reduce noise. Sony expects this technology will enable increasingly high-quality imaging in smartphone photography without necessarily increasing the size of the smartphone sensor. Of course, there is also a set of solutions that combines both methods, such as augmented reality (AR) image sensors, with their combination of lowest power, best performance, and minimal form factor [4].
And then there is the quanta image sensor (QIS)—a new technology developed by Gigajot in which the image sensor contains hundreds of millions to billions of small pixels with photon-number resolving and high dynamic range (HDR) capabilities. The QIS will potentially enable ultra-high pixel resolution that provides a far superior imaging performance compared to charge coupled devices (CCD) and conventional complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) technologies. While the QIS is not yet in commercial production, test chips have been fabricated using a CMOS process with two-layer wafer stacking and backside illumination, resulting in a reliable device with an average read noise of 0.35 e‑ rms at room temperature operation [5].
Not surprisingly, as the complexity of these image sensor chips increases, design, verification, and reliability become more challenging. As image sensor and compute elements come together, the traditional rule of separating analog and digital power domains is, of necessity, violated. Analog and digital components operating within the same pixel must be accurately modeled for functionality, performance, and reliability. This analysis must include both the dynamic loading of the power grid from both sensing and computation functions, and how those functions generate heat and draw current. All of this processing generates more heat and draws additional current from the power grid, both of which can degrade the pixel's ability to capture light.
According to Dr. Eric R Fossum, Krehbiel Professor for Emerging Technologies at Dartmouth, Queen Elizabeth Prize Laureate, and one of the world's leading experts in CMOS image sensors,
"Power management by design is very important in image sensors, especially those with high data rates or substantial on-chip computation. Power dissipation leads to heating, which in turn increases the 'dark signal' in the pixel photodiodes—the signal generated even when there is no light. Since each pixel's dark signal may be different, an additive 'fixed-pattern image' of background signal is generated that is difficult to calibrate out of the desired image. The dark signal also contains temporal noise that further affects the low-light imaging capability of the image sensor. The addition of mixed-signal and digital-signal processing and computing in a 3D stacked image sensor further exacerbates the heating problem. Design tools to simulate and manage power dissipation are helpful to eliminate these sources of image quality deterioration during the design process."
These complexities mean that voltage (IR) drop and electromigration (EM) analysis can't be left until the very end of the design cycle as a "checkbox signoff," because the market risk of performance or chip manufacturing failures is too high. Thorough EM and IR analysis must now be an integral part of the image sensor design flow, which includes the image sensor and its data channel, as well as the high-performance processing connected to the sensor on the same die.
However, such analysis is complicated by the large amount of analog content in these image sensors. Image sensor designers must be able to analyze and verify both analog and digital power integrity, which means analyzing analog designs in the 10s or 100s of millions of transistors—far beyond the 1-2M transistors that existing tools can handle. While traditional digital EM/IR analysis tools can easily process the digital portions of these die, a complete and scalable EM/IR solution for analog content has been lacking.
Super-block and chip-level analysis have traditionally been performed manually, using simplifications such as sub-setting of the design, employing less accurate simulators, and other ad hoc methods and approximations, all of which consume large amounts of engineering time to make up for the lack of automated tool support. Neither static analysis nor hand calculations provide the full coverage or confidence of simulation-based signoff. In addition, existing tools tend to create large numbers of false errors for typical analog layouts, requiring even more time and resources for debugging. This lack of detailed automated EM/IR analysis for large-scale analog circuits puts the whole image sensor system at risk.
In 2021, Siemens EDA introduced the mPower platform, which brings together analog and digital EM, IR drop, and power analysis in a complete, scalable solution for all designs at all nodes [6]. The mPower Analog high-capacity (HC) dynamic analysis provides EM/IR analysis on circuits of hundreds of millions of transistors—just the thing that these large-scale integrated sensors need. mPower HC dynamic analysis provides full-chip and array analyses from block-level SPICE simulations, giving designers the detailed analyses needed to confidently sign off on these large, complex sensor designs for manufacturing while enabling faster overall turnaround times. It can also enable faster iterations earlier in the design cycle by using pre-layout SPICE simulations. At the same time, the mPower Digital solution provides digital power integrity analysis with massive scalability to enable design teams to analyze the largest designs quickly and accurately. Together, the mPower Analog and Digital tools provide an unparalleled ability to model and analyze the IR drop and EM of a complete integrated sensor system, whether it is on one die or many.
Khandaker Azad, senior manager at ONSEMI in Santa Clara, had this to say after implementing the mPower tool, "We're seeing significant improvement in the quality of EM/IR signoff by doing high-capacity dynamic EM/IR of the digital and analog blocks with the mPower tool. Its scalability, TCL-based flow, and above all, fast runtimes helped us cut down our turnaround time by severalfold. In summary, the mPower tool certainly brought confidence to our full-chip signoff analysis."
As sensor designs continue to proliferate and evolve in complexity, the need for a scalable, innovative power integrity analysis solution will continue to grow with them. With the mPower platform, there is finally an IC power integrity analysis tool that is up to the task.
