𐙚 . CUTE PANTS…
𝓅airing ∿ ran takahashi x f!reader ᰔ 𝑜ne shot ; fluff, meet cutes, 𐙚 𝓌c 1599 ᝰ.ᐟ 𝓇oro's note. i’m so happy you sent a req for my boyfie ran, i have been wanting to write something for him for a while >.< . . based on this ask ﹒꒰ 𝓁ibrary ꒱
𝒮. you unexpectedly meet a new neighbor in . . . cute? pants during a fire drill
You had heard the alarms before you had even seen the apartment building you have been residing in for the past few years. Your thighs subtly ached as you rushed up the stone inclined path that led to the building.
A heavy breath of relief left your lips when you made it to the top and saw your fellow residents talking amongst themselves outside the apartment. No fire or fire fighters in sight, it was just a drill. You smiled politely at your neighbors as you passed them, walking closer towards the apartment building, the annoying alarm didn't bother you since you were used to the sound.
Your eyes traveled across the small sea of residents, some stood together most likely gossiping or complaining about the drill while others chose to stand alone. Your eyes did a double take when you noticed a tall and unfamiliar figure standing on his lonesome near the small water fountain that was to the side of the building.
He had his back to you as he looked up at the building, so it wasn't his face that caught your attention, no it was his pants. It was his black joggers with little volleyballs. On them. What an interesting choice of pants, you thought to yourself with a small hum. You could easily tell by his body language that he was anxious about something.
“No need to look so worried, they do this every other month” You spoke as you walked up behind him, your tone reassuring and soft, not wanting to startle him with your sudden presence. Your eyes widened at how fast he turned to look at you, despite your soft tone your sudden presence did seem to startle him.
Ran flinched and quickly turned around to face you when he heard your voice, his breath hitching once he made eye contact with you. He was not expecting someone so pretty to be standing behind him, hell even talking to him. His mind wasn't even comprehending your words, instead his eyes were taking in every detail of you that he could.
He suddenly felt very ridiculous, standing there with his lips parted as he looked down at you. He was internally yelling at himself to say something, but he couldn't form the words. Your lips parted in shock as you locked eyes with his sparkling brown eyes, your thoughts blanked for a moment as you took in his beauty. You started to become worried that you said something wrong when he didn't say anything back…just stared at you.
Your fingers nervously fidgeted with the strap of your tote bag, you clear your throat and continue to speak, your tone a lot less confident as it was before “Safety measures and all that”
Ran finally broke out of his trance, blinking a few times before giving you a small nod “Ahh right, that's nice to know” ran internally cringed at his poor excuse of a response, but he was thankful that you didn't seem to mind his awkwardness as you gave him a smile and listened to his words. He brought his hand up to awkwardly rub at his nape, he was totally blowing it and making a fool of himself.
“Cute pants” you mused with a teasing smile as your eyes trailed down his body, stopping longer at his pants before tilting your head back to look up at him. Your teasing smile and tone made his heart start to race, and his hands start to shake at his sides.
Ran’s eyes widened in panic, and he nervously rubbed his hands on the side of his pants, cursing himself for even stepping out of his apartment wearing them. His cheeks flushed in embarrassment as he chuckled nervously at the expense of himself “it's my laundry day”
Before you could respond, Ran took charge of the conversation, wanting to move past his embarrassing pants. He held out his hand for you to shake as he introduced himself with a shy smile “I’m ran, i just moved into 242”
His heart fluttered at the feeling of your soft hand holding onto his as you politely shook it. A choked-out gasp left his lips when you held his hand tighter as you got on your tiptoes to place a featherily light kiss on both of his cheeks before pulling away far too quickly for his taste.
You smiled at his cute reaction, judging by his slight accent he wasn't from here and in turn, wasn't used to the cultural embrace. You let go of his hand before introducing yourself “242, hmm seems like you're right above me, do you have an explanation for the shuffling noises at 6am?”
Ran didn't seem to pick up on your teasing tone and he's quick to apologize, trying to explain that it's because he has to be up early to stretch, but you found yourself getting lost in the way his eyes sparkled, his words completely going over your head. You giggled and shook your head, cutting him off from his small rant of apologies with your sweet tone “I'm just teasing ran, I'm already up by 6 so it doesn't bother me”
“Oh” he mumbled to himself before nervously joining you in laughter, instantly relaxing a little at your reassurance. He cleared his throat and looked around at the two of your guy's surroundings, avoiding eye contact with you, before mumbling shyly “Sorry I'm not usually this awkward”
You were quick to reassure him with a smile “It's alright, I'm sorry for –”
“No no no it's not your fault . . . well it is but –” ran was internally panicking as he quickly cut you off, the last thing he wants is his pretty neighbor blaming herself for something that wasn't her fault, well not entirely her fault. His heart was starting to race as you looked up at him in confusion with a slight tilt of your head “It is?”
Ran let out a heavy breath before confessing softly as he stuffed his shaking hands in his pockets “You're just really pretty and i'm standing here making a fool out of myself the more i talk”
He was worried that he came on too strong by calling you pretty when you physically froze and looked up at him with wide eyes. But he let out a small breath of relief when you let out a small giggle and took a step closer to him, he picked up on the small ‘cute’ you mumbled under your breath before saying “Thank you ran, and don't worry i don't think you are making a fool of yourself at all”
“That's a relief, because I would really like to get to know you better . . . if that's alright with you of course, I'm in need of a good tour guide,” Ran smiled, shocking himself and you at the confidence and flintiness in his tone.
Before you could answer you heard the manager of the apartment building calling out that it was alright for everyone to return to their apartments. You watched as your fellow residents made their way back into the building. You look back to ran to see that he hasn't looked away from you, his sparkling brown eyes begging for an answer, specifically a yes.
You bit your lip before reaching into your tote bag and pulling out your pen and small notebook where you always wrote down your grocery lists. Ran’s eyes followed your every movement as you flipped it open and started to jolt down a number. His eyes went back up to your face as you ripped the page out and held it out for him.
“Call me and we can schedule that tour, specifically not at 6am” You teased with a sparkling smile, slipping your pen and notebook back into your bag once he took the small paper. Ran smiled and let out a chuckle at your teasing, carefully holding the paper in his hands.
“I’ll make sure to wear a different pair of pants” ran quickly joined in your teasing, looking down at his pants with a smile before looking back at you. You giggled and looked down at his pants with a small smile before locking eyes with him, your sweet smile turning into a flirty smirk as you looked at him up and down before confidently saying
“Hmm i don't mind what you wear, i have a feeling you would look cute in anything”
Ran went still at your words, the flush on his cheeks were quick to come back at your openly flirting, he opened his mouth to try to come up with anything to say but nothing came out. You laughed and the sound sounded like heaven to his ears, you softly patted his shoulder as you walked away from him and towards the building lobby.
Ran quickly turned around to face you and watched as you walked away from him, his eyes following you dutifully. Before stepping into the lobby, you turn to face him one more time, giving him a smile and shy wave before leaving his sight. He returned the smile and wave before looking down at the light pink paper in his hands. His smile turned into a grin as his mind tried to memorize the numbers.
Living in Italy was a big change for Ran. The cultural differences, the greetings, the way people dined . . . the random fire drills in his new apartment, it would all take some time for him to get used to it all.
. . . but seeing his pretty neighbor was one change he could happily get used to.

Rude Awakening
Pairing: Roboute Guilliman x FemReader
Warnings: Sexual content, MDNI
Description: The Reader sends a long awaited message to her home world, only to receive a very unexpected reply.
Plot, lore, and spice in this one folks! (Also, please excuse the very cliched name I decided to use for the Reader's home world.)
This is a continuation of my Guilliman/Reader series. To read the previous parts, check out my Masterlist.
“Transmitting in one minute, Lady Heir.”
Guilliman watched you sit even straighter than before, if that were possible. You’d changed out of the light, flowing dresses he’d grown accustomed to seeing you in these past months, and back into the corseted gown you’d worn upon your first meeting. Your hair was pulled back into a severe bun, your hands tightly clasped on your lap.
Every sinew in your body radiated tension. He resisted the near overpowering urge to go to your side.
“No, Roboute. If I’m to be seen to be acting independently, in the interests of my world, I can’t sit in your shadow.” You’d leaned against him in the Thunderhawk during the flight to your ship, “No matter how I might wish to.”
When he made it clear he intended to be present for the event, and therefore his Ultramarine guards as well, Captain Takahashi suggested they move the whole operation to the spacecraft hangar. Glancing around, Guilliman understood why.
It had been ages since he’d existed in a space not built with giants in mind. Even the towering ceilings of this hangar seemed somehow claustrophobic after the sheer massiveness of The Macragge’s Honor. And that was not the only difference.
Not a candle in sight.
The air still smelled of fuel and chemicals, but the cloying aroma of incense was absent. Captain Takahashi must have driven her cleaning crew hard, for every surface gleamed clean and starkly bright under the artificial lighting.
It all looked so… new. Even the crew, standing at attention in their clean uniforms.
He heard his Ultramarines shifting in their armor and couldn’t blame them for their unease. The differences in culture and technology between your people and the Imperium had never been so obvious. The clash to come….
Guilliman’s gaze returned to you.
You feel it too, the mounting pressure. If we are to avoid bloodshed, you must walk a razor’s edge.
Again, the urge to go to you. His jaw clenched.
***
Your heart felt as though it was about to beat its way out of your chest.
Strange, how quickly emotions could change. In the days since confessing your family’s sordid history to Roboute, you’d felt… lighter. Unafraid, for the first time in years.
When he held you, all your grandmother’s torments and scheming seemed insignificant. You were untouchable. Safe.
The folly of such thoughts crashed upon you as you stared at the transmitter. An entire world’s fate rested on your words, on a diplomatic mission no one thought would succeed.
A diplomatic mission some had done their best to ensure would not succeed.
Will Grandmother listen to reason? Will the Grand Council? The Military? The Church?
You squeezed your eyes shut, fighting a rising tide of panic.
Am I leading my people down the path to annihilation?
“Connection established.” The technician’s voice sounded loud in the silence. “Transmitting in ten…”
Light guide me. Protect me against the chaos of the Void.
“...eight…”
Reveal my path and grant me wisdom to protect my people.
“...six…”
Illuminate the minds of those I speak to, that they may see the Truth.
“...four…”
I can’t do this! I can’t!
“...two…”
Your eyes flashed to Roboute. His burning blue gaze met your own. Strength. Courage. Love.
“Transmitting now.”
You lifted your chin and breathed deep. “Honored Matriarch, Grand Council, People of TerraNova, I speak to you today of a new dawn for our people. Six standard months ago, I set out upon a diplomatic mission to propose an alliance with the Imperium of Man.”
Calm settled over you with each word. “I am overjoyed to report the complete success of my mission. Roboute Guilliman, Lord Regent of the Imperium, has accepted our proposal. He has agreed to ensure our continued autonomy in exchange for technology and resources.”
And now for the bombshell.
“To seal this alliance, I have agreed to take the Lord Regent’s hand in marriage.”
***
“... I await your response so that a meeting between the Lord Regent and our beloved Matriarch may be arranged. May the Light, and the Lord of Light, bless the joining of our people. Thank you.”
Guilliman felt pride swell within him as the technician cut the transmission. He strode forward, boots thundering on the metal flooring.
“You were magnificent, my dear.”
You looked up at him, face pale. “I pray it was enough.”
He reached out a hand, gently taking your tiny fingers in his own, and helped you to your feet. You swayed slightly.
Captain Takahashi appeared at your side, a glass in her hand. “Drink, Lady Heir. You did well.”
Guilliman made eye contact with the Captain as you drank.
She nodded. “I mean it, my Lord. Our leaders will be hard pressed to deny the logic of such a statement.”
He placed a steadying hand on your shoulders. “I have seen diplomats with lifetimes of experience fail to make so compelling an argument.”
“From anyone else,” you murmured, “I’d call that flattery.”
“I am not accustomed to praising the unworthy.”
“I know.” You smiled, face regaining some color, “Still, Void take me! I’m glad that’s over.”
Guilliman chuckled slightly. “How long before we can expect a response?”
Captain Takahashi shook her head. “Hard to say. The message should have been received almost instantaneously, but our leaders will need time to formulate a reply.” She hesitated. “Though, the Matriarch is known for her decisiveness.”
His armored hand tightened on your shoulder at the mention of your grandmother. “I am… eager to meet this woman.”
He sensed your tension returning. “Let us return to The Macragge’s Honor, my dear. We can-”
“Captain!” A shout from the technician drew everyone’s attention. “Incoming communication!”
Captain Takahashi strode to the console. “A recorded transmission?”
“Negative, Ma’am. Live.”
“Oh, Light….” Guilliman watched you wilt once more.
He pulled you against him. “From your homeworld, Captain?”
“We’re too far for a live message.” The Captain’s eyes remained fixed on the screens in front of her. “No. This originates from one of our naval vessels.”
“Lord Guilliman.” Sicarius spoke for the first time since entering this ship. “Transmission from The Macragge’s Honor. Long range scanners have picked up contacts exiting the Warp.”
He faced the Ultramarine. “Details.”
“Five ships of similar make to this one. One significantly larger. Numerous smaller vessels. All approaching rapidly.”
From the scowl on Sicarius’s face, Guilliman knew he expected an ambush. “Have we received any attempts at communication?”
“Negative, my Lord.”
“Captain?” The technician looked toward Captain Takahashi. “Do I answer?”
“Yes.”
Guilliman looked down at you in surprise. You reached up and placed your hand over his gauntlet on your shoulder, your expression determined.
“I will answer, Captain Takahashi. Put it on screen.”
A moment of silence, save for the persistent beeping of the console. “Very well, Lady Heir.”
You tried to pull away from his grasp. “Roboute-”
“No.” He walked with you, hand remaining on your shoulder. “This time, we stand together.”
***
You leaned back against Roboute, partly annoyed, partly grateful. In truth, you felt drained. A mere moments ago you’d wanted nothing more than to return to your quarters on the Imperial ship. Quarters that had rapidly begun to feel like “home”.
No time for further thought before a figure appeared on screen. It was not who you expected.
The angular face. Hair that curled to his shoulders in defiance of every military regulation. Eyes that never seemed to rest in one place for more than a moment. All familiar, except for the red scar bisecting one cheek.
“Victor?!”
“Hello, cousin. And, ah…,” his eyes moved behind and above you, “Lord Guilliman, I presume?”
The lack of decorum brought a flush of shame to your cheeks. You felt Roboute’s hands tighten ever so slightly on your shoulders.
“Lord Regent, may I introduce Prince Victor, son of-”
“Another prince, who was the son of a Patriarch, who was the husband of our beloved Matriarch, and so on and so forth. Second in line to the throne of TerraNova. Lord of the Fleet, etc.” Your cousin waved his hand dismissively. “Very pretty, very inconsequential titles.”
Void damn him! He hasn’t changed.
“Victor, this is-”
“Quite possibly the most powerful man in the galaxy, yes I know.” He grinned, the expression twisted by the scar on his cheek. “And your intended! Congratulations, by the way.”
“An unexpected pleasure, Prince.”
Roboute had once explained his multiple organs to you. Now, you felt him expand his third lung, giving his already deep voice an inhuman resonance that sent shivers across your skin.
Even through the screen, your cousin couldn’t remain unaffected. You felt a tiny thrill of satisfaction at seeing his cocky smile quiver.
“Unexpected for me as well… my lord. My fleet’s interception of my lovely cousin’s message necessitated this intrusion, I’m afraid.”
You stiffened. “The message? Did it-”
“Don’t fret, my dear. I’m sure our beloved Matriarch is frothing at the mouth as we speak. Unfortunately, she no longer has the power to act one way or the other.”
Dread pooled in your stomach. “What do you mean?”
“I mean, that she’s currently a prisoner in her own palace, cousin. Courtesy of the only other living member of our dynasty.”
“Conrad?” The magnitude of the disaster struck you hard. “Oh, Light.”
“Clear the deck!” Captain Takahashi snapped.
You heard the retreating of many feet, and glanced up toward Roboute. He stared at the screen, mouth set in a grim line. The Ultramarines likewise remained.
“Victor, perhaps a more private-”
“What’s the point, sweet cousin? Your fiance and his…ah…warriors may as well know what kind of mess they’re about to sail into.”
***
Guilliman could see why you disliked your family.
The nonchalant mockery dripping from every word this boy said, set his teeth on edge. He showed no regard for the devastation his little speech wrought on you, never once used your proper title. And something in the way he looked at you….
“So, there has been a coup.” He didn’t bother to hide the growl in his voice.
“Indeed.” The boy avoided his gaze. “Grandmother and what’s left of her personal forces are holed up in the capital whilst Conrad, bookish little Conrad, and his army lay siege.”
Guilliman felt you sag against him. “The Military?”
“Apparently they think he’ll be easier to control that dear old Granny, or me, for that matter. And they thought you were dead until a few minutes ago. So they’ve made him their figurehead.” He shrugged. “I don’t really even blame Connie, locked away in that monastery for so many years, he never did learn how to think for himself.”
“The Grand Council?”
“Ran off to the Eastern Continent. Putting up a decent fight, actually.”
You seemed to gather yourself. “So there’s still hope. Wait. They thought I was dead?”
“Oh, yes. Grandmother seemed certain of it. Was almost ready to announce it to the people.” A grating laugh. “I can only imagine her expression when your message came through. I know it shocked the Void out of me.”
Guilliman spoke again. “You called yourself ‘Master of the Fleet’. This implies you have control of your world’s naval forces.”
“Those personally loyal to me, yes.”
“Your mercenaries?” You shook your head. “Victor, they’ll turn on you as soon as you can no longer pay them.”
The boy’s expression turned dark. “They’re loyal, little cousin. Ever since I saved their asses from Grandmother’s order of execution. You can count on that.”
Guilliman didn’t care for his tone. “What are your intentions here, prince?”
He ignored him, darting eyes settling on you. “You need to come home, cousin. Immediately. With me. The people are confused and divided.”
“We need to present a united front.” You nodded slowly.
Guilliman tightened his grip on your shoulders.
“You always were the smartest of us.” Your cousin smirked. “I’ll send a transport immediately.”
Captain Takahashi joined the conversation. “I will gladly transport the Lady Heir on board this ship, my prince.”
“Ah, the ever loyal Captain! You know we all thought you dead too? I appreciate the offer. But we both know my Predator is faster than your little cruiser. And speed is paramount.” He waved a hand. “You can follow along at your own pace.”
“A third option.” Guilliman tried to make eye contact with the prince, but his gaze kept sliding away. “The Lady remains aboard my flagship, and we follow you to your homeworld.”
“Cousin, would you like to explain to your fiance why that won’t work?”
You gave him an apologetic look. “For me to arrive with an Imperial fleet-”
The boy interrupted once again. “It would certainly look like a conquering horde, now wouldn’t it? Unless, of course, that’s your intention.”
“Victor!”
He leered. “It would be clever. Take advantage of our weakened, divided state and swoop in to add us to your collection of worlds. Your marriage to my cousin would give you just enough legitimacy to preserve your image. Assuming, of course, that you Imperials care about such things.”
“I gave my word to the Lady that this would be an alliance, not a conquest.” Guilliman managed to catch the boy’s direct gaze and hold it. “I intend to keep my word.”
He paled and, once again, his eyes darted away. “Well, well. How noble.”
Your hand reached up and grasped one of the gauntlet’s on your shoulders. “Do not make such an insinuation again, cousin.”
A corner of Guilliman’s mouth tipped up at the indignation in your voice.
“Still,” you murmured, “an Imperial fleet, much less the flagship of the Lord Regent, arriving at this time could cause widespread panic.”
And undermine any hope of peaceful compliance.
He never desired unnecessary bloodshed, not even in the days of the Great Crusade. The idea of attacking your homeworld appealed to him even less. Still, to send you alone into the hands of this arrogant princeling… into a war zone….
“Should she agree to this, the future Lady of Ultramar will be accompanied by an Ultramarine guard.”
An astounded murmur from the Ultramarines behind him. Your head snapped up, mouth opening in shock.
The boy remained silent for a moment, blinking. “I…ah… of course. Of course! You want to protect your investment. I understand.” He made a show of peering at the Ultramarines. “I suppose we’ll make them fit somehow.”
You turned back to the screen. “Give me one standard day, Victor. Then send your transport.”
“Agreed. It will be ever so nice to see you in person again, cousin. I’m sure we’ll get this mess sorted in no time.”
The transmission ended.
You pressed your face into your hands. “Void damn it all. Just when things were going so well.”
Guilliman looked down at you. Sometimes he forgot how young and inexperienced you were. You’d learn soon enough.
Nothing ever goes to plan.
***
You stood in the midst of your quarters aboard The Macragge’s Honor, and tried desperately not to weep.
A fool. I’m a damned fool.
You thought back over the last months. All your life, you’d heard horror stories of the Imperium. Its cruelties. Its fanaticism. How ironic that the best moments of your life so far had been spent here, onboard its flagship.
With him.
You’d told yourself it could last forever. That all would be well.
Damn you, Conrad. Why? Why now?
You bent to pick a piece of clothing off the floor, only for your corset to tighten further around your chest. Sudden rage filled you.
“Off, get off!”
It had taken two attendants to help you put the thing on. Tears of frustration filled your eyes as you clawed at the hooks and laces to no avail.
“Void damn it!”
Behind you, the door hissed open. You recognized the presence even before he spoke.
“Are you all right, my love?”
You didn’t dare turn around, face burning with embarrassment. “I’m sorry, Roboute. I just… I can’t….” You sniffled like a child.
“Let me.”
“You don’t have to- ah!”
A wrench and the sound of tearing fabric. The corset fell away. You gasped, catching it against your breasts. Your mind went blank.
A thud behind you made the floor shake. Then, hot breath on your bare back. The heat seemed to spread across your skin, burning away the rage and frustration, until only longing remained.
“Roboute….”
Lips pressed against the back of your bare shoulders. Impossibly large hands circled your hips, holding you immobile.
“It seems our marriage will be delayed.” His deep voice resonated within you. “But, by the Throne, I will have this.”
You could only whimper in reply as the lips traced across your shoulders, your neck, and down your spine. The hands on your hips slid upward until they met the corset you still clutched to your chest.
Light forgive me.
You let the piece of clothing drop to the floor, and gasped as the hands covered your breasts.
“So soft.” He rumbled.
No one had ever touched you like this. You whined as he began to squeeze and knead, calloused skin against your nipples sending shocks of pleasure through your body. Liquid warmth pooled between your legs.
You felt yourself yanked back into a hard chest, only then realizing he’d sunk to his knees. His forehead came to rest on your shoulder. One hand continued to play with your chest, while the other spread down over your belly.
“Tell me to stop.”
“No.”
I want this.
He groaned, and the hand on your belly moved lower, fingers dipping beneath the waist of your skirt and underclothes. You suddenly found it hard to breathe.
“I heard you last night.” He rasped. “I heard you touching yourself, calling my name as you climaxed.”
“Oh, Light!” You should feel ashamed, but his words only stoked the fire within.
“I almost went to you. Throne, I have wanted to go to you every night since the first. Now you are leaving me, and I cannot….” A deep, gasping breath. “I cannot hold back anymore.”
You moaned his name.
“Show me how to bring you pleasure.”
You reached one hand behind you, carding your fingers into blond hair, feeling the massive demigod shiver at your touch. With the other hand, you guided his hand lower, until his fingers met your wet center.
Both of you hissed at the sensation.
“L-like this….”
Spreading your legs a little wider, you pushed his fingers until they brushed against your nub. Your back arched at the sudden sting of pleasure.
He caught on quickly, beginning to rub circles. You ground against his hand, revelling in the wantonness of your actions. Enough with decorum. Enough with following the rules. You wanted him.
You wanted your husband.
“Roboute, faster!”
He obeyed. And you writhed, no longer recognizing the sounds that came out of your mouth. You heard only his deep, panting breaths against your shoulder. You felt only his fingers against you. Nothing else mattered.
As you leaned back against him, you felt something hard against your rear. You’d felt it before, when he held you down atop his desk. Without hesitation, you rubbed against it, and he let out a strangled growl.
“Yessss….”
His hips began to move. Even as he rubbed you, his massive hand also pressed you back against him. You felt him hard and hot through his tunic. And big. So big. It should have frightened you.
Instead you felt the tension inside you grow tighter.
“Roboute, I… I…!”
“Give it to me.” He snarled. “Only to me.”
The tension snapped. You opened your mouth, but no words came. Your vision went white.
Hot and wet and so so good…!
The sudden sting of teeth in your shoulder. A muffled roar. Scalding liquid against your lower back.
And then all was soft, melting warmth. You went limp, and he caught you against him. You felt the swelling of his chest, the thunder of his double heartbeat.
“My love…mine….” He turned your boneless body until you looked up into his sweat-streaked face. “Forgive me.”
You snuggled into his chest. “There’s nothing to forgive, my husband.”
He shuddered at your words. “My beautiful little wife.”
For a moment you stayed there, keeping the outside world at bay.
“Just a little while longer, Roboute.” You whispered. “And then I’ll never leave you again.”
***
Guilliman remembered your words as he watched the transport depart. In the end, only one of his Ultramarines had gone with you. The ship your cousin sent simply couldn’t fit any more.
He hadn’t been surprised when Tarchus volunteered for the duty. He believed, in his own way, the Ultramarine had grown rather fond of you in the past few weeks. And the man was capable. He’d keep you safe.
Still, what I would not give to be the one at her side.
The previous night with you in his arms had been an indescribable joy. Whatever the Ecclesiarchy might have to say on the matter, you were bound to him now. Even if he hadn’t had you fully. Not yet.
He had plans for that. Some customs he couldn’t quite bring himself to disregard. Such as the matter of a ring.
“Roboute, it’s beautiful!” You’d gasped as he slipped the gold and sapphire band on your finger.
“And long overdue. It belonged to my mother, one of the few things I have left of her.”
Your eyes had widened. “Are you sure-?
“I am.” He’d smiled down at you. “She would have liked you, I think.”
“I’ll treasure it.”
“I have added one thing.”
He’d shown you the device embedded inside the band. “Captain Takahashi graciously gave me this. I intend to take my fleet to the asteroid belt her star maps show lies just beyond your system. If you need me, press the largest gem in the ring. A beacon will activate.”
He’d grasped your chin, ensuring you looked into his eyes. “And I will come for you.”
He would, he vowed. Even if he had to carry you off like the barbarian warlord your people thought him to be.
“My Lord,” one of the baseline crew suddenly spoke up, “something’s happening.”
His eyes never left the departing transport. “Yes?”
“One of their fighters seems to be malfunctioning. It is moving erratically.”
“More power to the forward void shields.” Captain Sicarius barked.
A tiny ship, smaller than a Thunderhawk, appeared in the corner of Guilliman’s eye. It twisted and bucked as if the pilot had gone mad. And yet….
The crewman continued. “If it keeps its current course, it will not impact any Imperial ships, my lord.”
A horrible revelation flashed through Guilliman’s mind. “Fire on that ship!”
“My lord?”
“Now!” He lunged toward the hangar opening, as if he could reach out and strike the ship down himself. “NOW.”
He heard the crewmen frantically issuing vox orders, and yet knew they wouldn’t matter. It was too late.
The fighter screamed toward your transport.
“No.”
Your pilot must have seen the threat. He jerked the ship away, but the fighter followed.
“NO.”
Impact.
Guilliman dropped to his knees as all the light left in his life went out.

Mistakes~
Diluc Ragnvindr x F!Reader (Angst)
Hello my lovelies! This was a requested story by the wonderful @sailorstar9! I hope this story met your expectations! I’m excited for you to read! And as always, enjoy~
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/64586a92c6a6539736d59908f6b8762c/d3a8e1385f1cf7d7-f4/s540x810/d8d07ab42f413555499cca8ed6d3a16334c08251.jpg)
In the serene city of Mondstadt, Diluc Ragnvindr, the brooding and enigmatic owner of the Dawn Winery, found himself drowning in a sea of emotions he had never anticipated. As a man who prided himself on his composure and control, Diluc was unprepared for the torrent of regret that surged within him when he received a wedding invitation that would change everything.
It was on a day like any other when the letter arrived. The crimson seal bore the insignia of the Kamisato Clan, one of Inazuma’s most prestigious families. Diluc opened it with little interest, expecting another political correspondence. But as he read the elegantly penned words, his heart stopped.
“Dear Master Diluc Ragnvindr…”It began
“You are cordially invited to the wedding of Lady Y/N of the noble Takahashi Clan and Lord Ayato Kamisato, Head of the Yashiro Commission. The ceremony will be held…”
Your name stood out, vivid and unyielding against the parchment. Memories flooded back, unbidden and relentless. The times you had spent together, the laughter you shared, the silent promises that had been left unspoken. But one thing really caught his eye…your surname. You were from the Takahashi Clan, one of the oldest and noblest families in Inazuma. His eyes widened a bit as he realized how important you were to basically all of Teyvat. After all this time…how had he not known? How had he not connected the dots together?
Diluc's hands trembled slightly as he set the letter down. He felt a sharp pang in his chest, a sensation he hadn’t experienced in years. It was as if the mere sight of your name had reignited a flame he had long thought extinguished. A flame that burned with the searing pain of lost opportunities and choices made in haste.
Memories of your time together flooded his mind. The secret meetings in the Whispering Woods, the shared dreams, and the whispered confessions of love under the moonlit skies of Mondstadt. He remembered the way your eyes sparkled with mischief when you planned your little escapades, the stolen kisses beneath the stars, and the way you fit perfectly in his arms as if you were made for each other. He had been young and idealistic, believing that love alone could conquer all obstacles. But fate had other plans.
Years ago, Diluc had been an aspiring knight in the Knights of Favonius, driven by a sense of justice and duty. It was during this time that he met you, an Inazuman woman sent to Mondstadt on diplomatic matters. Despite your different backgrounds, you were drawn to each other, finding comfort in the other's presence.
-Flashback-
"I never thought I'd find someone like you," Diluc had confessed one night, his voice barely above a whisper as you lay together on the grass, staring up at the endless sky. "I never thought I’d find happiness again."
You had smiled, your fingers intertwining with his. "Oh Diluc. I feel the same way. My whole life… all I’ve ever known was duty and expectation." You began.
Diluc turned to face you, his eyes filled with an intensity that took your breath away. "With you, I feel like I can finally be myself. You make everything seem possible."
You sighed, feeling the weight of unspoken words. "And you make me feel seen, Diluc. You see me for who I truly am, not just what I represent."
He leaned closer, his forehead resting against yours. "We’ll face whatever comes together. As long as we have each other, nothing else matters."
A tear slipped down your cheek as you whispered, "Promise me, no matter what happens, we’ll always have each other."
"I promise," he murmured, sealing his vow with a tender kiss under the endless sky.
-end of flashback-
You two were inseparable…you had bonded over shared ideals and dreams of a better world. Diluc admired your strength and grace, while you were captivated by his unwavering determination and fiery spirit. Your love had blossomed in secret, hidden from the prying eyes of society and the rigid expectations of your respective families.
But as time passed, another presence entered Diluc’s life – Jean Gunnhildr. She was strong, compassionate, and dedicated to the Knights of Favonius. Slowly, almost imperceptibly at first, Diluc found himself drawn to her. Jean was a kindred spirit, someone who understood his burdens and shared his sense of duty. They spent more time together, and what began as a deep friendship gradually blossomed into something more.
One evening, as the sun set over Mondstadt, Diluc asked to meet you at your favorite spot in the Whispering Woods. The air was thick with unspoken words as you arrived, sensing the gravity of what was to come.
-flashback-
“Y/N, there’s something I need to tell you,” Diluc began, his voice heavy with emotion. He took a deep breath, trying to steady himself. “Jean... Jean and I have grown close. I’ve found myself falling for her.”
You stood there, feeling the ground shift beneath your feet. The man you had loved, the man you had dreamt of a future with, was choosing someone else. Tears welled up in your eyes, but you fought to keep your composure. Your heart ached, each beat a painful reminder of the love you were about to lose.
“I understand, Diluc,” you said softly, your voice trembling. “If she makes you happy, then you should be with her.”
Diluc’s eyes were filled with anguish as he reached out to touch your hand. “I never wanted to hurt you, Y/N. You’ve been everything to me.”
You pulled your hand away gently, the pain too much to bear. “I know, Diluc. But sometimes, love isn’t enough. I just want you to be happy, even if it’s not with me.”
The silence between you was deafening, filled with unspoken words and shattered dreams. You took a step back, feeling your world crumble around you. "I always thought we’d have forever," you whispered, barely audible.
Diluc’s expression twisted with regret. "I did too," he replied, his voice breaking. "But things change, and I can’t ignore what I feel for Jean. It’s not fair to either of us."
You nodded, tears streaming down your face. "I hope she makes you happy, Diluc. Truly."
As you turned to leave, the weight of your shared memories bore down on you. Diluc watched you go, feeling a piece of his heart break with every step you took. He wanted to run after you, to take back his words, but he knew it was too late. The choice had been made, and the path ahead was set.
As you walked away, you felt an overwhelming sense of loss, as if the future you had envisioned was slipping through your fingers. You remembered the nights spent in each other's arms, whispering dreams of a life together, and now those dreams were nothing but ashes.
Diluc stood rooted to the spot, his heart shattered. He watched you disappear into the distance, the weight of his decision pressing down on him like a suffocating blanket. The love he had taken for granted was now gone, leaving him with a hollow ache that would never fade..
In that moment, both of you understood the true cruelty of love: sometimes, even when you give it your all, it still isn't enough. And that realization left a scar that neither time nor distance could ever heal.
-end of flashback-
Now, as Diluc stared at your name on the invitation, he realized the depth of his mistake. Diluc had married Jean Gunnhildr, the acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius, in a union born out of mutual respect and a desire to protect Mondstadt. Jean was a remarkable woman, strong and compassionate, but his heart had never fully belonged to her. He had convinced himself that their marriage was the right choice, but as time passed, he felt the emptiness grow within him.
His marriage with Jean had become a hollow shell, devoid of the love that once seemed so promising. The warmth and passion that once filled their days were replaced by cold silence and unspoken resentments. He missed you, the warmth of your smile, the comfort of your presence.
He would wake up in the middle of the night, haunted by memories of you. The laughter you shared, the warmth of your embrace, and the love that once seemed unbreakable. He missed you with an intensity that left him feeling hollow. His interactions with Jean became strained, and the love that had once seemed possible faded into a distant dream.
Diluc often found himself in the vineyards, staring out into the horizon, wondering what might have been. He knew that Jean sensed his distance, but she never confronted him about it. She was too kind, too understanding, and that only made his guilt worse. He wanted to love her the way she deserved, but his heart refused to let go of you.
Now, as he thought about you marrying Ayato, Diluc realized the depth of his mistake. Because of his choice, he had lost the one person who had truly understood him. The thought of you being with someone else, someone who could offer you the status and respect you deserved, was unbearable.
*****
The days that followed were a blur for Diluc. He moved through his routines mechanically, his mind consumed by thoughts of you. He knew he couldn’t change the past, but the idea of letting you go without a fight seemed impossible to bear. Driven by a newfound determination, he made a decision that would alter the course of his life.
Diluc resolved to attend your wedding in Inazuma. He had to see you one last time, to express his feelings and perhaps find closure. It was a reckless plan, but he was willing to risk everything for a chance to make things right.
The journey to Inazuma was long and fraught with danger, but Diluc pressed on, fueled by his desire to see you. When he finally arrived, the sight of the Kamisato estate took his breath away. It was a grand and imposing structure, befitting a clan of such high standing.
Diluc felt out of place among the noble guests, but he was determined not to let anything deter him. He scanned the crowd, searching for a glimpse of you. When he finally spotted you, his heart skipped a beat. You looked ethereal in your wedding attire, your beauty even more captivating than he remembered. The soft, flowing fabric of your gown shimmered in the sunlight, cascading around you like a waterfall of stars. The intricate lace detailing highlighted your graceful form, while the delicate embroidery of silver and gold threads told a story of elegance and nobility.
Your hair was styled in a way that accentuated the natural beauty of your features, adorned with delicate blossoms that seemed to bloom just for you. The soft waves framed your face, drawing attention to your eyes, which sparkled with a mixture of joy and a hint of sadness.
As you moved, there was grace and poise in every step, a silent testament to your strength and dignity. The veil that cascaded down your back added an almost otherworldly quality to your presence, like an angel walking among mortals.
Diluc felt a lump form in his throat, his chest tightening as he saw you. You were a vision of perfection, standing at the altar with Ayato, a man who could match your lineage and nobility. The sight of you, so breathtakingly beautiful, was a stark contrast to the pain and regret that churned within him.
As he approached you, memories of your time together flashed through his mind. The way you had laughed at his jokes, the way you had comforted him in his darkest moments. All the things he had taken for granted now seemed like precious treasures lost to time.
You turned, and your eyes met his. For a moment, the world seemed to stand still. The guests, the music, the festivities – everything faded into the background as you stared at each other. Diluc could see the surprise and confusion in your eyes, mixed with something else – a flicker of the love you had once shared.
“Y/N,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
”Diluc…” You spoke, his name rolling beautifully off of your tongue. Diluc felt his heart race as he finally heard you in what seemed to be forever.
”You…you actually came…” You continued, making him smile a bit
“I had to see you.”
You looked at him, your expression unreadable. He went up and grabbed your hands, pulling you into him.
“I couldn’t stay away,” he admitted. “I know it’s selfish, but I had to tell you how I feel. I’ve regretted letting you go every single day. I should have fought for us, for you.”
Tears welled up in your eyes, and you shook your head. “Diluc, it’s too late. I’m marrying Ayato. He’s a good man, and he loves me…and I love him.”
His smile slowly faded away as he heard you say those words.
“I know,” Diluc said, his heart aching. “And I’m happy for you. But I needed you to know that I’ve never stopped loving you. If there’s even the slightest chance that you feel the same, I’ll do whatever it takes to be with you.”
You closed your eyes, tears streaming down your face. “Why now, Diluc? Why did you wait until now to tell me this?”
“Because I was a fool,” he said. “I thought I was doing the right thing, choosing Jean… But I was wrong. I see that now.”
You were torn, your heart pulling you in two directions. You had loved Diluc deeply, but your life had taken a different path. Ayato was kind and honorable, and he had won your respect and affection. But the sight of Diluc, baring his soul to you, rekindled old feelings you had tried to bury.
“I don’t know what to do,” you whispered, looking at Diluc with a mixture of longing and sorrow.
“Follow your heart,” Diluc said softly. “Whatever you choose, I will respect it. I just needed you to know how I feel.”
You nodded, quickly letting go of his hands and moving back to your beloved, Ayato. You wiped the tears away to hide them from him.
*****
As the ceremony proceeded, Diluc’s mind was in turmoil. He knew he had no right to interfere, but the thought of losing you forever was almost unbearable. He could see the love in Ayato’s eyes, and he knew that Ayato would take good care of you. But that didn’t make the pain any easier to bear.
When the officiant asked if anyone had any objections, Diluc felt a lump in his throat. His heart pounded in his chest, and he could feel the words bubbling up inside him, desperate to escape. He wanted to speak up, to declare his love for you in front of everyone, to tell you that he still loved you, that he had made a terrible mistake.
Once again, his mind raced with images of the past, the moments of joy and love that you had shared, the nights under the stars when everything seemed possible. The idea of losing you forever, of watching you pledge yourself to another, was almost too much to bear. His hands clenched at his sides, knuckles white with tension.
But as he looked at you, radiant and ethereal, standing beside Ayato, he knew he couldn’t do it. He saw the happiness in your eyes, the love that shone so clearly as you looked at your soon-to-be husband. It was a happiness he couldn’t bear to take away from you, no matter how much it tore him apart inside.
Diluc remained silent, his heart aching with unspoken words. It was not his place to disrupt your happiness. He had made his choices, and now he had to live with them. The path you had chosen was one of love and nobility, a path that would bring you the honor and status your lineage deserved.
As the officiant continued, Diluc felt the weight of his regret press down on him, a heavy burden he would carry for the rest of his life. The ceremony proceeded, each word like a nail driving into his heart. He watched as you exchanged vows with Ayato, your voices filled with love and promise.
In that moment, Diluc understood the true meaning of sacrifice. To love someone meant wanting their happiness above all else, even if it meant letting go. He had to let you go, to allow you the chance to find the joy and fulfillment that he could no longer give you.
As the ceremony concluded and you were pronounced husband and wife, Diluc’s heart shattered. The applause and cheers of the guests felt distant, like echoes in a vast, empty space. He forced himself to smile, to clap along with the rest, but inside, he felt hollow.
You were no longer his to hold, to cherish, to love. The future you had once dreamed of together was now a bittersweet memory, a reminder of what could have been. And as you walked down the aisle with Ayato, Diluc whispered a silent goodbye to the love he had lost, and to the woman who would always hold a piece of his heart.
After the ceremony, Diluc found himself alone in the gardens of the Kamisato estate. He needed some time to gather his thoughts, to come to terms with the fact that he had lost you forever.
“Diluc,” a voice called out softly.
He turned to see you standing there, your wedding dress flowing in the breeze. You looked at him with a small, sad smile, the weight of unspoken words hanging between you.
“I wanted to say goodbye,” you said, your voice trembling.
Diluc nodded, his heart heavy. “I’m sorry for everything, Y/N. I wish you all the happiness in the world.”
You stepped closer, reaching out to touch his hand. The warmth of your touch was a bittersweet reminder of what you had once shared. “I’ll always cherish the memories we shared, Diluc. You were my first love, and you’ll always hold a special place in my heart.”
He squeezed your hand, fighting back tears that threatened to spill. “And you’ll always be in mine.”
The silence that followed was filled with the echoes of your past, the laughter and the dreams that had once been so vibrant. Now, they were shadows, lingering on the edges of your hearts. Diluc looked into your eyes, seeing the love that still lingered there, even as it was overshadowed by the new life you were about to begin.
“I never wanted to hurt you,” Diluc murmured, his voice choked with emotion. “Every choice I made, I thought I was doing the right thing. But I realize now, I was just a fool.”
You shook your head, tears welling up in your eyes. “We were both young, Diluc. We did what we thought was best. Life took us down different paths, but that doesn’t mean what we had wasn’t real.”
“I’ve missed you every single day,” he confessed, his voice breaking. “I thought I could move on, but seeing you now, I know I never really did.”
You gave him a sad smile, your heart aching with the shared sorrow. “I’ve missed you too. There were so many times I wished things had been different. But we can’t change the past.”
Diluc’s hand trembled as he held yours. “Do you ever think about what might have been? If I had chosen differently, if we had fought harder for each other?”
“Every day,” you admitted, your voice barely a whisper. “But I’ve also learned to find peace in what is. Ayato... he’s a good man. He loves me, and I’ve grown to love him too. But you, Diluc... you were my first love. That will never change.”
He closed his eyes, the pain of lost possibilities weighing heavily on him. “I hope he knows how lucky he is to have you.”
You nodded, a tear slipping down your cheek. “He does. And I hope you find your happiness again soon. You have so many opportunities ahead of you, Diluc. Don’t let it go to waste.”
With a final, lingering glance, you both knew this was the end of your story together. You stepped back, your hand slipping from his grasp, leaving behind a warmth that would fade but never be forgotten. As you walked away, joining Ayato, Diluc felt a part of his heart go with you.
Watching you leave, he whispered a silent farewell to the love of his life. The future you had dreamed of was gone, replaced by a reality that was both beautiful and heartbreaking. As you walked down the aisle with Ayato, hand in hand, Diluc knew he would carry the memory of you with him always, a reminder of the love that had changed his life forever.
Diluc returned to Mondstadt with a heavy heart, but also with a sense of peace. He had faced his past and confronted his regrets. Though he had lost you, he had found the courage to speak his truth. And in that moment, he knew that he would carry the memory of your love with him always, a flicker of warmth in the depths of his soul.

First Kiss

Fandom : Ranma ½
Relationship : Ranma x Akane
My Year of the OTP 2025 contribution for the prompt : First Kiss.
I’m sorry for the mistakes, English is not my native language. I hope you like it.
Summary : Ranma would never admit it to her, but if he was sulking it was not because of the adhesive mark, or because he felt like his lips were stuck together, but because he had thought that he and Akane were going to kiss. Even if he had never imagined that their first kiss would happen like this. The two of them playing Romeo and Juliet in a play, in front of the whole school.
Disclaimer : Ranma 1/2 belongs to Rumiko Takahashi.

Ranma walked on the fence, while Akane walked on the sidewalk next to him. He had not spoken to her since the end of the play. He was sulking. He knew it was childish, but he did not care. He moistened his lips and made a face. He could still feel the tape Akane had stuck on his mouth. She had dared to use on him the technique he had used on Kuno.
“Ranma, don’t tell me you’re still sulking.”
“What do you think ?”
He turned his head towards her and she laughed. He frowned, annoyed. Looks like the mark of the tape was still visible on his face.
“I’m sorry.”
She did not look that sorry, Ranma thought. He would never admit it to her, but if he was sulking it was not because of the adhesive mark, or because he felt like his lips were stuck together, but because he had thought that he and Akane were going to kiss. Even if he had never imagined that their first kiss would happen like this. The two of them playing Romeo and Juliet in a play, in front of the whole school.
It was not the first time they had almost kissed, but each time someone or something broke the moment. But this time he had really believed it and he really wanted it. And he was convinced that Akane felt the same.
“It’s not that bad,” she said.
“It’s not that bad?” He repeated.
Why did not she understand ? He jumped off the fence and landed in front of her.
“What if I had done the same thing to you, how would you have reacted ?”
“I wouldn't behave like a child like you're doing.”
She was getting angry and so was he.
“You took me for an idiot, you acted with me as if I were Kuno.”
“So that's why ? Because you were offended ?”
“Are you stupid or are you pretending not to understand ?”
He could feel that she was more and more angry, but he did not care, he wanted to provoke her. And he knew what could make her lose her temper.
“Kawaikune !”
“Ranma no baka !”
Little by little, without either of them realizing it, they had gotten closer. He could feel the heat of her body, her breath mixing with his. He looked into her eyes. He was flustered, more than he had ever been.
“Why didn’t you kiss me ?” He asked in a breath.
“Because I didn’t want to do it in front of everyone.”
Ranma opened his eyes wide. She had wanted to kiss him too. He moved a little closer to her. Or maybe it was Akane who had moved closer. Their lips brushed hesitantly until they touched. Ranma felt his heart beating fast and a shiver ran through his body. Akane put her hands around the back of his neck, pulling him a little closer to her. He put his arms around her waist, holding her against him. It was not the first time he had held her in his arms, but they had never been this intimate.
They pulled apart slightly. Akane was blushing and he could feel his face went red. She laughed lightly.
“Your lips are still sticky,” she explained.
He laughed too. Their first kiss, he thought. It had not gone the way he had imagined, but to him, it was the perfect kiss.

“You know, I’m happy that I could celebrate my new years with you” He stared at you with a happy look on his face. “Of course Kung Lao, I know you are happy as i am too,” You lay down on his chest and he placed his hand on your back.

Even though he is blind, he still countdown with you. He doesn’t care if he can’t see the fireworks, he just want you to be happy on new years. If you’re happy, then he’s happy 🥹
“Happy new year, my love,” Kenshi laid down on your lap and grinned at you. “Happy new year to you, my beloved swordsman,” You played with his hair and you both end up sleeping on the couch.

the heart is but a winding road p.3 - shouto todoroki/f!reader (2k) pro-hero shouto, approx late 20s early 30s-ish, this is a begrudging father figure fic bc i can, fluff, someone pls give takahashi a raise
p.1 - p.2 - YOU ARE HERE - p.4 (upcoming)
It’s still raining.
The gloomy weather doesn’t necessarily bother Shouto, it just… is. There’s not really much point in sulking over something unchangeable, so he doesn’t—even if he does grumble a bit as he towels off wet his hair after his patrol for the nth day in a row, trudging from the locker room at his agency up towards his office.
Takahashi meets him as the lift doors open onto his floor, bowing in greeting.
“Welcome back, Shouto-sama.”
“Hello,” Shouto greets his secretary, letting his towel rest looped around his neck. “It’s late, why are you still here?”
“I have some paperwork to hand off, and felt compelled to stay until you reported back for the day.” The two men begin making their way down the corridor towards Shouto’s private office, falling easily into step with one another after so many years. “Besides, there is another matter…”
Shouto pauses in the archway leading towards his personal office space. Takahashi’s desk sits just outside his office door, neatly organized as it usually is. There are a few plants in the tiny vestibule—though Shouto’s uncertain as to who actually put them there or tends to them—and a small seating area along one wall for anyone waiting for meetings with the pro-hero, even if he rarely schedules them.
Unusually, there’s someone sitting in those generally unoccupied chairs today.
A woman.
“She’s been here for most of the afternoon,” Takahashi says, keeping his words low and inconspicuous, spoken just on the edge of his breath. “She insisted that she’d wait to see you.”
Shouto blinks.
The visitor has spotted the two men now, and peers at them almost in surprise from across the room—like she scarcely expected to see the two of them at all, though she’s the interloper in this particular place. Shouto’s eyes flicker down to the small box held carefully on her lap, and the umbrella leaning up against her chair.
Oh.
You.
“Shall I ask her to return another day?” Takahashi quietly asks the man at his side, looking between his employer and the unexpected visitor in turn.
“No,” Shouto says, having emerged from his momentary stupor of surprise. He takes a step in your direction. “This is fine.”
You stand as the Pro Hero approaches, and he can’t help but notice you seem a little nervous.
“Hello, Shouto-san,” you say, bowing politely as he nears. “I’m sorry to turn up unexpectedly.”
“It’s no problem,” Shoto says, “Takah—my secretary informed me you’ve been waiting quite a while.”
You make a sheepish little expression. “I wasn’t sure when I’d be able to return, and it was important to me to see you in person.”
“I see,” Shouto nods, glancing once more at the box you’re clutching tightly in your hands.
It’s quiet—ungracefully so—for a moment. Across the room, Takahashi clears his throat lightly.
Shouto lifts his hand, pointing a bit too briskly towards his office door for the gesture be considered elegant or well-practiced. “Would you like to speak inside?”
“Oh, yes, of course!” you nod. “I really do apologize, I know you just got back from patrol. I don’t mean to take up much of your time.”
Shouto steps towards the door to his office, holding it open for you to enter before him. You hesitate once you’ve crossed the threshold, uncertain what to do next. In the doorway, Shouto similarly hesitates—carefully contemplating whether to leave the door open or closed.
He doesn’t often welcome people into his office, and among the few he does, they’re certainly not civilians and even less frequently are they strangers. His office is fairly sparsely decorated, because he’s never really felt the need to decorate, but Takahashi keeps it tidy while he goes out on patrol. Shouto used to insist to the secretary that he didn’t need to do it, but he’s grown to appreciate the straightening up—and file alphabetizing—and has learned to accept it without complaint.
He's never had reason to be insecure about the austere nature of his workspace, but he's exceedingly conscious of it now that he doesn't even have a seat to offer you.
You suck in a breath before him, as though gathering your nerve, and Shouto’s eyes flicker over to you.
“I came to say thank you,” you tell him, and Shouto is taken aback by your air of sincerity. “For the gifts.”
He clears his throat, looking away from your overly earnest gaze.
“You’re welcome,” he says. ”Did your son like them?”
“Are you kidding?” you blink, your expression startled like you can’t believe he’d even ask. “Nao loved them. He was so excited the first night he hardly slept, and he insisted on bringing all of them into bed with him—there was barely enough room for him to squeeze in.”
Shouto feels a certain peculiar sense of satisfaction hearing that.
Takahashi really had outdone himself in securing a variety of Recycling Hero merchandise for Shouto to have sent to you and Naoyuki. Frankly, Shouto wasn’t even aware that there was a Pro Hero with such an extensive array of branded goods—besides possibly All Might, and more recently Dynamight (though the majority of those products were unlicensed and manufactured by fans.) There were all the usual items—like keychains, figurines, clothing and other wearable accessories—but Reductro has recently branched out in a variety of ventures, like lunch boxes, reusable water bottles, and even adhesive bandages that are all made of organic compounds and can biodegrade. All of his merchandise is made of sustainable, organic materials, in the spirit of his environmentally conscious ethos.
Your eyes land on a rather large pile of packages next to Shouto’s desk, and your gaze traces them in relative alarm.
Ah.
He’d forgotten about those.
“Um, are those for…” you trail off, your attention flittering over to him nervously.
“Oh, no,” Shouto replies. “Those belong to me.”
The pile of Reductro merchandise beside his desk is comprised of duplicates of what he’d had Takahashi secure to send to Naoyuki. When his secretary had sent him a list of items for him to choose from, he simply told him to purchase two of each: one for the boy, and one for himself.
You look at him a bit strangely then, though Shouto’s not entirely sure why.
“You’re a fan of Reductro?” you ask him.
Shouto nods. “I wasn’t overly familiar with him, but recently have become quite interested in his work.”
He surveys the pile of packages beside his desk, and then his eyes flicker back to the box in your hands.
“It was largely thanks to your son.”
You laugh then—a bright, happy sound. Shouto wasn’t expecting it, so he startles slightly, his eyes snapping up to your smiling face.
“Nao would be really happy to hear that, you know,” you say to him.
Shouto stares at you for a moment, until eventually you look away.
“We made these for you,” you say next, holding out the little box in your hands. “Nao and I.”
Shouto reaches out and takes the offering from you, though he’s hesitant.
You would have had to pass security before entering the building, and he’s fairly confident you don’t seem the type to do him harm, but he’s still a bit wary as he lifts the lid of the container and peers inside.
“They’re cookies,” you tell him, a bit shy. “We weren’t sure how to say thank you, and they were Nao’s idea…”
Shouto isn’t sure what to say.
His experience tells him he shouldn’t accept the gift. Poisoning is a real threat for public figures, especially Pro Heroes. Even if the gift had passed security, they wouldn’t have been able to test for illicit ingredients or toxins, and sending them downstairs for testing would likely be troublesome—assuming that the research and development department of his agency even has the tools required to screen them.
But he can’t remember anyone making cookies for him before.
“It’s a recipe from Reductro’s cookbook, in case you’re wondering why they’re green—“ you step forward to explain, pointing down towards the little box of baked goods that Shouto is still blankly staring into.
His head pops up.
“There’s a cookbook?”
You laugh, your hand coming up to cover your mouth, and then you cough lightly as you look away. After a moment you peek back at him, nodding.
“A few months ago, when we first got it, Nao refused to eat anything that didn’t come from it,” you say, smiling a little as though you’re reflecting fondly on the memory. “I’ve never seen a kid so excited to eat leafy greens.”
In his mind, Shouto makes a note to have Takahashi look into this as soon as possible.
“Well,” you say, clasping your hands together in front of your coat. “I appreciate you taking the time to speak with me, and all the kind gifts you sent to Nao.”
Shouto shakes his head lightly. “Don’t mention it.”
“I’ll leave first,” you say, dipping in a bow. “Thank you very much for the work you do, Shouto-san.”
You step towards the office door—left ajar since Shouto never did decide whether he should leave it opened or closed.
“Um—“
You pause when you hear Shouto speak again, turning back towards him from the doorway.
“Please tell Naoyuki-kun that I’m grateful to him,” Shouto says, his brow furrowed like he’s deep in thought. “For introducing me to Reductro’s work.”
You smile softly. “I'll let him know.”
“And also for the cookies,” Shouto adds after another moment of thought.
“I'll tell him that too.”
Shouto nods, satisfied he’s said all he needs to say.
“Goodnight, Shouto-san.” You dip your head in a final bow of parting, and then you slip out through the door.
Shouto stands in the centre of his office for a while after you depart, the box of cookies still open in his hands.
He plucks one out, surveying it closely on all sides—and then sniffing it for good measure. He glances towards the door with the cookie held to his lips, half expecting Takahashi to appear and chastise him. When he’s confident the secretary is not lurking just out of view, he takes a bite.
It’s… strange.
It certainly has the consistency of what Shouto would consider a cookie, but it’s not quite as sweet as he was expecting. He contemplates this thoughtfully as he chews. There’s also a distinctly vegetal flavour that lingers once he swallows the mouthful down, but he can’t say with any certainty what ingredient might be imparting that particular taste.
He appraises the cookie in his grip, missing one semi-circular bite mark.
He likes it.
He pops the rest of the baked good into his mouth, shuffling towards his office door.
“Akahahi-han—“ he calls as he pokes his head out into the vestibule, and his secretary turns in his seat towards the sound of his name—or what was supposed to be his name, but was garbled thanks to the food in Shouto's mouth. He quickly swallows down his mouthful. “Where’s the nearest bookstore to here?”
Takahashi turns to his computer, tapping away at his keyboard for a moment.
“Six block northeast—located in the shopping centre where you apprehended the pickpocket with the adhesive-type quirk two weeks ago,” Takahashi relays his search results faithfully from his screen.
Shouto nods, dipping back into his office.
He reappears a moment later with his jacket on, a baseball cap in his hand, and his little box of green cookies tucked safely under his arm.
“I’m leaving first,” Shouto calls as he passes his secretary’s desk.
“Shouto-sama, is there something you require at the bookstore?” Takahashi rises swiftly from his seat and pursues the young Pro Hero towards the elevators. The two men stop and wait for the elevator to arrive once Shouto pushes the down arrow. “I’d be happy to retrieve it on your behalf.”
The doors slide open and Shouto steps in, pulling his baseball cap on over his head.
“There’s no need, you can head home for the day,”—the elevator dings as the doors begin to slide closed, Takahashi’s usually placid expression markedly perplexed at his employer’s peculiar behaviour—“I just need to pick up something for dinner."

MK1: Babysitting 101
Pairing: MK1 various x child reader (platonic)
Summary: Your parents left to a business trip and left you in the care of your uncle Johnny. Let’s just say everyone wants to adopt you.
Content: (Y,N) is a polite child, Protective Johnny, Fluff and Cute moments.
Part 2: https://www.tumblr.com/lynn-w3st/734299278669938688/mk1-babysitting-101-part-2
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You were sleeping peacefully in your guest bedroom that your uncle Johnny prepared for you as you were staying with him until your parents came back from their business trip.
However, it seems your beauty sleep has been interrupted by the sound of glass breaking. Being only ten years old, you decided to investigate the noise as you pick up your favorite stuff penguin and made your way out the guest bedroom towards the stairs that led to the living room of your uncle’s mansion.
Upon descending down the stairs, you witness your uncle tying up a tuxedo man (Kenshi) in a chair. “ Uncle John.” You said as your uncle and the tuxedo man turn their attention to you. Despite coming here to retake Sento, Kenshi stared at you with an expression of curiosity.
Your uncle quickly stood up and walk towards you. “ Hey kiddo why are you awake? Did you have a nightmare again.” He said softly. Johnny Cage is known to be a cocky and arrogant man but when it comes to little you, he’s a big softy and spoils you. You shook your head as you hug Mr. Bubbles close to you and stared at him.
“ I miss mom and dad, can I stay with you for a while here.” You said as Johnny winced as he didn’t want you to see a random man tied up. He definitely didn’t want your mother to scold and murder him for letting you witness him having a random guy in his mansion tied up.
Johnny let out a sigh as he pick you up and place you on the sofa and wrap a comfy blanket around you to keep you warm. “ Don’t tell your mother about this.” He said in a shaky tone as he didn’t want to face his sister’s angry wrath.
You chuckled as you did a zip motion against your lips. “ I won’t uncle John.” You said as your uncle chuckled and ruffled your fringe bangs. He went back to take a seat in front of the man in the chair as they resume their conversation.
The sound of the doorbell rang as you notice that your uncle was still talking to the man. It seems he didn’t hear the doorbell rang, so being a curious child, you decided to answer it.
Your tiny hand opens the door to reveal three tall men standing before you. Two of the men were dress as ninjas and held a serious look.
“ Good evening, Johnny- oh hell there young one.” Liu Kang said softly as you stared up at him and titled your head a bit side ways.
The ninja man in yellow couldn’t help but found your expression adorable as the ninja man in blue held a tiny amuse expression. You continue to stare at the men as your uncle came over.
He covered your ears so you wouldn’t have to hear him swear as Johnny once learn that lesson the hard by his sister-in-law who scold him.
“ What in the actual fuck.” Johnny said as he uncovered your ears and held your tiny hand. “ Goodevening Johnny Cage. I’am Lord Liu Kang. Protector of Earthrealm. May we enter.”
“ Hey kiddo why don’t you go back to bed. You’re probably tired.” Your uncle said as he turn to face you. You tighten your grip on his hand and shook your head, he let out a sigh.
Your uncle then stared at the two men behind Liu Kang as he let out a chuckled and turn to face you before turning back. “ Sure come on in.” He said as he allowed the three men in.
Uncle Johnny pick you up and gently place you back into the sofa before making his way towards where the three men were standing.
“ Kenshi Takahashi. Your actions this evening do you no good.” Liu Kang said to the man tied up who is known as Kenshi. You watch from the sofa as the yellow ninja man glance at you.
You continue to watch as your uncle Johnny spoke to the random strangers. You often wondered if you should’ve had stayed with your babysitter today instead of your uncle’s.
The sound of glass breaking caught your attention as you saw uncle Johnny be thrown across the room. “ Uncle Johnny!” You yelled.
Liu Kang frown as he motion for Kuai Liang to check on you. The yellow ninja man made his way to you. Being only eight years old, you got off from the sofa and took a step back in fear and curled up in a corner with your stuff toy.
Your eyes began to watered and let out a sniff, which cause Kuai Liang to freeze in fear. He didn’t mean to make you scared as he knelt down and offered his hand out to you.
“ It’s ok.” He said in a gentle tone hoping to ease your fear as he means you no harm. Kuai Liang couldn’t help but feel protective of you.
He wanted nothing more than to protect you as he once did in a previous timeline where he and his brother witness your tragic death.
You stared at the man as you place your shaky hand onto his warm hand. Kuai Liang softly smiled as he stood up and held your hand.
He couldn’t help but softly tighten his grip on you as he was afraid that you’ll fade away from him. Kuai Liang stared at your innocent eyes.
“ Come little one.” He said and led you towards Liu Kang as Bi-Han held a deadly stare with you with a mixture of curiosity and interest in them.
“ I’m sorry for the intrusion young one. We did not mean to frighten you with our presences.” He said softly as he knelt into one knee to show you that he means no harm. You wipe your tears and gave him a bright innocent smile.
Liu Kang felt his heart shatter as he knew that in previous timeline you were a Lin Kuei and your death made the brothers devastated.
You let go of Kuai Liang’s hand which cause him to frown a bit as you then held Liu Kang’s hand. The fire god smiled and stood up.
“ It’s ok and is my uncle going to be ok.” You said as Liu Kang nodded and ruffled your hair.
A groan was heard as your uncle stood up and dusted himself. He scoff in disbelief as he saw his favorite masterpiece broken into pieces.
“ That was my achuli. One of a kind. And get your hands away from my niece.” He said as Bi Han and Kuai Liang got into fighting stances.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“ And scene! I hope your insure cause you’re going to pay for my hichuli!” Johnny said as Sub Zero and Scorpion stood up. “ Imbecile! You have no idea with whom you’re dealing!”
Sub Zero said angrily as Liu Kang had enough of this behavior. “ ENOUGH!” He yelled as his body light up on fire for a bit which cause you to jump in fear. Johnny notice and pick you up.
Soon everything cease as your uncle gently soothed you as Kenshi was released from his captivity as Kuai Liang stood behind you and stared at you with a curious expression. Your eyes became tired and let out a sleepy yawn.
The pyromancer chuckled softly as he took every fiber in his body to not pinch your soft cheeks or hold you in his arms as he once did in a previous timeline. If only he knew the truth.
“ You both have been chosen to join its champion.” Liu Kang said walking towards him. His eyes settled on to your sleeping form and soften. “ Why him? Or me for that matter?”
“ Because I have faith that you will rise to the challenge. And your service will change the arcs of your lives.” Liu Kang said as Johnny side eye at Kenshi and then look at your sleeping form.
“ I can’t just leave my niece by herself. But I don’t want her to be part of this.” Johnny said as he definitively going to be murder by his sister. “ She can stay in the fire temple. It will be a safe place for her to be in.” Liu Kang offered as he found himself attached to little you.
Johnny Cage was hesitant as he let out a sigh and he didn’t have no other choice. He just hopes that his sister-in-law never find out about this. Kuai Liang felt a sense of deja vu when he saw you sleeping against Johnny’s shoulder.
“ Very well we shall make our destination back. Johnny Cage it would be wise if you gave young (Y,N) to Kuai Liang.” Liu Kang said as Kuai was surprised and confused as Bi-Han glared.
“ No my niece is staying close to me. I don’t trust these two.” Johnny said as Bi-Han scoff as he didn’t see why this child was so important.
Liu Kang frown as he understood but he had hope that maybe you are the key to fixing and helping the situation of the three brothers. He knew that in do time, you will soon discover who you were in previous timelines.
The fire god open a portal that leads to the academy as he will make sure that your faith doesn’t end up like your past self. You were just a innocent little girl with no knowledge of how cruel the world is. He hopes to keep it that way.

Note: So I actually thought about this funny scenario at work and especially when I replayed that scene in the game. Hope you guys enjoy this random one shot that I made.
I’m so sorry if Kuai Liang was written a bit off as you know I tried my best with this. Also, please message me if you have any questions for me.

"PLEASE MARRY ME, Y/N-CHAN!"
with oikawa tooru
note: f!reader, she/her pronouns | you are younger than Oikawa by one year but in the same grade as him
genre: fluff, crack
WARNING/S: LONG FIC AHEAD!!
You and your friend attended a kids' volleyball tryout that's currently being held in Miyagi prefecture. With great interest in volleyball, you two decided to try out as well. As expected, many kids were also going for the tryout as they were scattered on the court.
A whistle was heard all over the room as the coach entered the room. "Welcome kids! It looks like a lot of children here are going to be volleyball pros when they grow up?" He asked, and a lot of kids answered 'yes'.
"Wonderful! Now, let me introduce myself. My name is Takahashi Sanji and this is Yumemite Hotaru, and we are your coaches. But before we start, let us do an attendance."
As the two coaches do an attendance, you heard two boys talking loudly about a certain alien cartoon that has been very popular lately. "Iwa-chan! Did you watch the latest episode yesterday?! The boss fight was so cool!" A certain dark brown hair boy said to 'Iwa-chan' while having visible sparkles around his aura.
"Of course I did. You're going to annoy me if I didn't." A boy with dark, spiked-up hair replied. "So mean, Iwa-chan!" The former said.
"Well he's cheery and an alien enthusiast..." You muttered and your friend giggled at your remark.
"L/n Y/n!" The coach called out for your name. "Here!" You replied.
"Oikawa Tooru!"
"Here coach!" The 'cheery' boy you described replied. 'Oh, so his name is Oikawa Tooru...' You thought.
"Iwaizumi Hajime!"
"Here!" The dark, spiked-up hair that made a snarky reply earlier to Oikawa replied.
'No wonder his nickname is like that...'
After the attendance, you were paired with 5 different girls as your friend is on the sidelines, waiting for their turn. You stretched for a good 5 minutes before the coach whistles. Your eyes immediately diverted to the boy named, Oikawa, whom you caught staring at you. You raised an eyebrow and he looked away. You just shrugged and prepared to receive once the ball was served from the other side of the net.
As expected, the ball went in your direction and you perfectly received it. Your posture was commended by the coaches as they write down something on their clipboard. As the ball went to the setter of your team, she sets it to another player and they managed to land in a perfect spike but it was received by the other team.
They tossed it to the other side of the net so the libero of your team received it perfectly before letting the ball go outside of the boundaries. It went to the setter again, 'Nice receive...' you thought. This time, she called for your name to spike to the other side of the court. You jumped and position your arm back before hitting the ball gracefully with your hands. You thought the other team will receive it but you were wrong. The ball touched the arm of the opponent but since it was a strong spike, she couldn't receive it perfectly.
The referee whistled, signifying that your team got a point. The kids from the sidelines, including Oikawa, Iwaizumi, and your friend, let out a loud "Wow!" and began to applaud for your flawless spike. Your teammates cheered, letting out praises and claps. "That was amazing, Y/n! Can you do it again?" The temporary captain of your team asked and you nodded. "Yes, of course! Thank you!"
Unbeknownst to you, Oikawa let out a loud gasp as his eyes twinkled at the sight of you. "Did you see that, Iwa-chan?! She hit the ball so perfectly! She's amazing!" Oikawa yelled and Iwaizumi just smacked him in the head. "Dummy! Don't shout!" "That hurts Iwa-chan!"
After the game with your team won the 2 matches, you approached your friend and they squealed, congratulating your excellent performance in volleyball. "Congrats! You were amazing, Y/n!" You just chuckled. "Thank you, F/n."
You felt someone tap on your shoulder and it was none other than Oikawa and his friend, Iwaizumi. "Hello, Y/n-chan!" He greeted you happily.
"Oh hello, Oikawa-san right?" He nodded. "You were amazing and your spikes were incredible!" He complimented, making you stunned and a little blush appeared on your cheeks as you received the praise. "Thank you, Oikawa-san."
"Ah, there's no need to put '-san'. We're friends now! By the way, this is my best friend, Iwaizumi! I call him Iwa-chan for short though." You and your friend nodded. "This is my friend, Y/f/n."
After a while, Oikawa suddenly went silent and looked down, the three of you noticing his sudden change of behavior. "Oikawa?" Iwaizumi called.
He then looked up, grabbed your hand (gently), and had sparkles in his eyes as he stared at you. "Please marry me, Y/n-chan!"
You and Iwaizumi were shocked as your friend just laughed behind you. "E-Eh?" You stuttered. Iwaizumi then bonked him in the end, making Oikawa let go of your hand and hold the painful spot on his head. "Ow, Iwa-chan!!"
"Stupid! Why the heck are you asking that kind of question to Y/n?! You weirdo!" Oikawa just whimpered in pain and you merely chuckled. "Thank you, Oikawa, but I have to refuse." You said with a smile on your face.
Oikawa immediately got heartbroken and stood up on his feet. He clenched his fist in front of you and a determined look was planted on his face. "I'm very heartbroken right now, Y/n-chan! But we'll get married in the future! I just know it!" He said with confidence, and you were sure that he was weird.
Aaand another smack landed on his head. "Do you even know what marriage is?! Oikawa, you dumbass!" You just smiled at their interactions before leaving the conversation (swiftly) to go to your friend.
Now in 3rd year of high school at Aoba Johsai High School, you were about to graduate along with Oikawa and his friends. When he first heard that you also enrolled in Seijoh, he was thrilled more than anyone. Oikawa's love for you never died even if you rejected his proposal 3 times in childhood, junior high, and the 1st year of high school in Seijoh, his feelings for you only grew stronger. He knows the fact that he's popular with the ladies but that never fazed him. His heart is for you and only you.
As the principal called your name for graduating with top 1 in your class, Oikawa made sure to clap very loudly (because he wants to and possibly for you to notice him) than the rest of the class. The principal also gave you a certificate of recognition for being an outstanding student in Seijoh.
As you went down from the stage and return from your seat, Oikawa was called for being the Student-Athlete of the Year as his performance in volleyball is greatly known in the school and the Miyagi Prefecture. You smiled as he went to the stage to receive his medal but you rolled your eyes jokingly when he threw a wink in your direction. He just chuckled and will deal with your sassiness later.
When the graduation ceremony ended, you were instantly greeted by Y/f/n, who captured you in a tight hug. "I'm so proud of you! Look at you graduating top 1 in the class!" Y/f/n graduated a month early than you as they were studying at Shiratorizawa Academy. Your parents also greeted you with a hug and congratulated you. "There's our girl! Congrats sweetheart!"
You beamed a smile at them. "Thank you so much, you guys! Honestly, the finals had me all nervous because I was so worried that I'll fail!"
Your friend and your parents just chuckled. "Well, it IS the finals after all. Who wouldn't be nervous?" Your father commented and you giggled.
You felt arms wrap around your small figure and you instantly recognized the fresh male perfume. "Tooru-kun?"
"Congrats, Y/n-chan! You deserve for being the top 1 in class!" You turned around and he pulled away. You smiled at jim, "Thank you, Tooru-kun. You also deserve the award for being Student-Athlete of the Year. I believe it's all thanks to your hard work as one of the most famous setters in Japan."
Oikawa felt himself blush at the compliment. "Ah, t-thank you..." He said and rubbed his nape.
"Oh? Is he your boyfriend, sweetheart?" Your mother asked and you reddened at the word. "M-Mom?!"
"Hmm, he looks handsome and kind. I approve of it." Your father nodded in acknowledgment as his arms were crossed in front of him. "Dad?!" You cried out and felt yourself hot as a chili.
Oikawa was blushing as well but cleared his throat. "I will be if she will say yes to my proposal."
Your mother's eyes widened and one of your father's eyebrows were raised. "Proposal?" Your father repeated. "Oh no." Your friend commented.
"A-Ah nothing! He's just joking, Dad!" You then turned around and smacked Oikawa on the head. "Must you bring that up to my parents?!"
"That hurts, Y/n-chan..." He said as he held his head. "But!" He then stood up straight. "I must have the confidence to ask for your parents' blessing in the future so I'm practicing now!"
"Oikawa Tooru, you dumb-"
You were about to smack him again when your mother realized that it was THE Oikawa Tooru standing in front of you. "O-Oikawa? Is that really you? My, have you grown!" Oikawa chuckled. "Well, I'm all grown now, Auntie."
"Ah, I knew your face is familiar! I've seen you on the sports channel every time volleyball season is on and I must say, your sets are really unpredictable. You sure do know how to keep the team's aura and atmosphere high." Your father showered him in praise and Oikawa went bashful. "Thank you, uncle."
"Well, we'll be waiting in the car. Don't take too long now, Y/n!" Your mother said and you nodded. As they leave you and Oikawa alone, he nudged your shoulder. "Guess I'm on their good side now huh? Maybe they'll finally approve of my proposal to you. So," He then revealed a bouquet of roses behind his back. "Please marry me, Y/n-chan!"
You gasped and pinched him on the arm. "Shut it, crappykawa." He pouted. "But," You started as you accepted the roses from his hands. "thank you. I'll take you on the offer of a date though."
Oikawa's eyes went wide. "R-Really? You're not joking?" You smiled at him and gave him a peck on the cheek, leaving him dumbfounded. "This week, Friday. 7 pm. Don't stand me up, dummy." You said and walked away with the roses in your hands.
Oikawa clenched his fist in the air before letting a loud, "Yes!!" And he skips happily back to his friends, who were watching the whole scene unfold and smacked him on the back. Though you rejected his proposal for the 4th time, at least you accepted his offer on taking you out for a date.
Now at 25, you and Oikawa have been dating for 8 years straight. Even though he had moved to Argentina to continue pursuing his volleyball career and studies there, not once, did your love for him fade even the slightest bit. Of course, it can get lonely most of the time due to the different time zones of the two countries but he made sure that he'll video call you two to three times per week.
He'd tell you all different stories about his life in Argentina but mostly about volleyball and how he is improving more than his high school self. He never fails to greet you exactly at midnight in the Japan time zone whenever it's your birthday or your anniversary. Of course, you do the same to him too.
Today is your 8th anniversary as a couple, but you knew that you would be celebrating it via video call again. You know the reason, but you've secretly been checking out some flights to fly over to Argentina just to surprise your boyfriend. You know that he's been busy for the past few days due to volleyball but he never used that as an excuse to not spend time with you.
"Happy 8th anniversary, mi amor." He greeted you with a smile at exactly midnight in the Japan time zone. You smiled back at him but not with your usual smile, "Happy 8th anniversary as well, amor."
He noticed your mood very quickly and offered you a sad smile. "I'm sorry if we're celebrating our anniversary via video call again baby. Ah, I don't know how many times I've apologized to you since I first moved to Argentina. You're probably sick of hearing it so many times."
You just chuckled. "It's okay love. I just hope that you're in my arms right now." He smiled at your wish, unbeknownst to you that he prepared a surprise for you.
Then you realized something, "Huh? How come it's dark there in Argentina? Isn't it like, noon there? Plus, why is it so quiet?" You bombarded him with questions and he just chuckled at you. You then heard a knock at your door. "Oh, someone just knocked on the door." You mumbled before standing on your two feet to walk towards the door. "I'm actually hiding from a certain person right now. Oh sh- I hear their footsteps. Shh, quiet baby." He hushed you and you had to stop laughing before giving him a nod. Suddenly, the call dropped, and you thought that the wifi where Oikawa is right now was bad so you let it be.
As you checked through the peephole, you noticed a large square present outside. You slowly opened the door and looked from left to right if there was anybody suspicious. You then walked to the box and it says, 'To: Mi amor, Y/n. From: Your beloved boyfriend <3'
You smiled at Oikawa's thoughtfulness but you were deeply confused as to why he needed to buy you so many things inside that big present box. You know that you can't carry the big damn box all by yourself so you decided to open it right then and there. As you removed the ribbons and opened the cover of the box, you were engulfed in a tight hug. You were about to scream when you caught a whiff of the strangely familiar perfume and you were shocked to see that it was no other than, Oikawa Tooru.
"Surprise baaaby!!!" He yelled and you were speechless as heck. "Did you like my surprise?! I bet you do because I'm the surprise!!"
Oikawa noticed you were so quiet and immediately felt a bit sad so he pulled away from the hug. "Are you okay, mi amor?"
You surprised him by engulfing him in a tight hug as well. You buried your head in his chest as a few tears fell from your eyes. "I miss you, I miss you so damn much." You whispered and he smiled at you before returning your hug. "I miss you more, Y/n. You have no idea that I thought of going home to Japan so many times just to see you and my family again." You looked up to see him staring at you with that genuine smile of his, and he took the opportunity to give you a sweet long kiss on the lips. Oh, how both of you missed kissing each other like this. The last time that you did, was when he left for Argentina, which was 8 years ago. The countless overthinking, small arguments on the phone, and the feeling of longing were too much to bare for the both of you, however, you two reassured each other that they are still the home that you want. The person that you want to spend time with for the rest of your lives.
As you both pulled away, he placed his forehead to yours and started at your eyes. "I love you." He whispered. "I love you too." You replied and moments later, you can feel him fidgeting a little. You pulled away with confusion planted on your face as you looked at him up and down. "Love? Are you alright?" You asked.
He sighed loudly. "Y/n, the feeling of being away from you hurts my heart so much and it tortures me every day when I was there. I know that I followed my dreams to become one of the best players in Argentina, but it still felt lonely without my number one cheerleader there beside me, to watch my games, to watch me play, and overall to see you cheering for me as I win many tournaments. I know you feel the same way so I'll ask you this,"
He then kneeled on one knee and revealed a red velvet box to you, which made you gasp as you recognized the luxurious brand. He opened the lid and there revealed an expensive-carat ring, that made you utterly speechless because it was the newest release ring. You looked at him and he was smiling at you as he tries his best not to shed tears. "Will you make me the happiest and luckiest man in the whole world and, please marry me, Y/n-chan?" He put an adorable look on his face and you chuckled at the nickname he used to call you in childhood and high school with your hands on your mouth as fresh tears of joy stream down your face. "Yes, of course, Tooru-kun." He giggled at the nickname and stand up on his feet before wearing the ring for you on your ring finger. The ring wasn't too large or too small for your finger, it was the perfect fit. It's as if Oikawa knows your ring size, well, he should though because he's your future husband and your boyfriend of 8 years.
The two of you hugged each other tightly as he kept whispering 'thank you' to you. Cheers erupted from the sides and you pulled away to see that it was Oikawa's high school friends, Iwaizumi, Hanamaki, and Matsukawa cheering. They rushed towards the two of you and gave you a group hug before pulling away. When they did, they ruffled Oikawa's hair and smacked his back. "Congrats man! We know that she'll say yes!" Said Matsukawa.
"Yeah! We can tell that you two missed each other so much that you kissed for like what? 15 seconds? Surprised both of you didn't insert tongue." Hanamaki said, earning a punch from Oikawa while the both of you had a blush on your face. "Shut it!"
"Kinda surprised that Y/n didn't reject your proposal this time. She's been rejecting your proposal since childhood." Iwaizumi teased, erupting laughter from the two while Oikawa was offended. "Oh, my go- shut up, Iwa-chan! She accepted my proposal now so move on!" Oikawa whined.
You snickered. "Yeah, as if he had any rings to show me before." The three burst in laughter at your response, while Oikawa just whined even more. "Mi amor, even you?!"
What you didn't know is that Oikawa did have rings for you, paper rings. But he felt like he should just show it to you on your wedding day so he'll just have to wait.
After a few hours of celebrating, you were waiting for your fiancé as you kept staring in awe at your ring. When he came out of the bathroom, looking fresh and ready to go to bed, he saw you admiring the ring. He smiled and came to the bed before kissing you on your temple. "Do you love it?"
You hummed in response. "Yes love but..."
"But?" He repeated. "How much did it cost you?" Oikawa didn't say anything. "I know this is the newest released ring from the luxurious brand but I'm still curious."
He just giggled in response, which put together you raise your eyebrow at him. "Tooru?"
"You don't have to worry about the price baabyyy~" He singsongs as he cuddled you. "Oikawa Tooru! I swea-" "Shh baby."
Oikawa knows that he's rich and has a lot of money but he also knows that you don't like it when he spends more than millions for you buuuuut you're his future wife after all.
Present time...
Now at 29, you and Oikawa have been married for 4 years and currently have 2 twin children who are 3 years old. The two looked exactly like their father, inheriting his hair and hair color, skin, and smile while they inherited your eyes and nose. When they were 2, Oikawa remembers you saying that "I did not go through 9 months of torture just for them to come out looking like the replica version of their father" (jokingly).
Oikawa is waiting for you to come out of the room because you and your him have a date tonight. Iwaizumi, Hanamaki, and Matsukawa will be babysitting your children for the night while the two of you enjoy your alone time together so as Oikawa's most trusted friends, they volunteered to do it.
When you slowly come out of the room wearing the dress that he bought for you, Oikawa fell in love all over again. It's just like back in childhood when he saw you spike for the first time. He fell in love the moment you first played volleyball, and now he continuously fell in love all over again when you showed him your vulnerable side, when you smiled at him for the first time, when you two went on a date for the first time, when you finally accepted his proposal when you two kissed at the wedding altar as husband and wife and many more. Now, he feels like his childhood self again.
"What do you think?" You asked him, feeling a little shy under his starstruck gaze. "You look so beautiful, amor..." He whispered but loud enough for you to hear before extending a hand. A blush crept to your cheeks and you shyly but gladly took his hand.
A loud gasp was heard and you looked to the side to see that it was your twin boys, staring at you with their mouths agape. "Mom! You look so pretty!!" They said in unison and rushed towards you. You kneeled and gladly accepted their hugs. "Thank you my loves! You two look very cute with your blue pajamas as well!"
A knock was heard from the front door and you stood up on your own feet. "Well, that's your uncles. Let's greet them, shall we?" You said and they excitedly nodded before rushing ahead the two of you.
You noticed that your husband was very quiet so you diverted your attention to him and he was still staring at you in awe. "Penny for your thoughts, Mr. Oikawa?" You teased him and he snapped out of his trance. "It's nothing, Mrs. Oikawa." He said and grabbed your hands before putting it on his shoulders. "But I must say, you're very ravishing and charming tonight. I might not hold back from kissing you right now." He whispered and pucked his lips before lowering his head to kiss you, but you abruptly stopped him by putting a finger on his lips. He pouted, making you giggle. "Maybe later."
"Haahh," He placed his head on your shoulder. "Please marry me, Y/n-chan." He said and you laughed. "We're already married, dumbass."
"Oh.." Was all he said. "Then let's get married again."
You shook your head and lifted his head from your shoulder before placing a peck on his lips. "You're so cute, Mr. Oikawa Tooru."
"And you're such a tease but I still love you, Mrs. Oikawa Y/n."

Ahhh we are so back. Had two years of UY now we get another long running Takahashi Rumiko remake. Different studio, but just like David Production did with UY, it seems like MAPPA have really captured that 80s anime vibe and brought it to modern audiences while not compromising on what makes Takahashi sensei’s work so loved! Ano on the OP as well we are eating so good this season with OPs 😭

They also got Wada Kaoru back as well who did the music for Inuyasha I KNEW that ost was sounding mad nostalgic, especially when they were giving the Jusenkyou backstory in China, sounded straight out of my childhood. I’m so excited for this.
One thing that’s important to keep in mind whenever you watch any of these Takahashi remakes is that what seems like generic tropes was actually stuff she either invented or was one of the first people to use, so whether it’s Lum being the first tsundere, Ranma moving in with 3 beautiful girls or the gender swap gimmick, this was all revolutionary at the time and shouldn’t be held against the series.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/64d12b096c5c25a8fbf55b728c3dfc2b/19ab3a62475ee3fa-33/s540x810/d05b99da46215f00207b97bce6bcf4c32e31fd8a.jpg)
So far here in this first episode, I really like Akane and Ranma dynamic and the gender switching thing looks like it’s gonna be fun as hell. Ranma in his female form will probably be able to bond with and see a side of Akane that his male side never could. You can already see them starting to be a little sweet on each other despite what their mouths might be saying, I know that look out the corner of your eye anywhere lol. Ranma gotta chill with the “my proportions are better than yours” type lines tho. That’s one way to get killed by a growing girl.

If it’s one thing Takahashi sensei gonna do it’s write a dad who makes questionable decisions tho 😂 having your daughter marry someone you never even met is kinda crazy lmao.

I translated the first ever interview with Young Lion Mikami Kyosuke, published on New Japan’s website, from March 8, 2010.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/b1a96f44fa349e4e7172de1c81106b61/57fcd3000101c50c-cf/s250x250_c1/8298477d12cdb204a6cffbfa1b95cbb575881174.jpg)
Hit by Hansen’s bull rope and awakened to pro wrestling! A quick interview with anticipated newcomer Mikami Kyosuke
The Act Tower Tournament was held in Hamamatsu on March 7th. There, a newcomer made his long anticipated debut against Taguchi Ryusuke.
His name is Mikami Kyosuke. Influenced by pro wrestling since childhood, he joined the prestigious Senshu University’s wrestling club in order to become a professional wrestler. We managed to catch Mikami for an interview before his match! In this first-ever interview, we talked to him about his current state of mind, his passion, and information about himself.
- Your debut match was decided rather abruptly, wasn’t it?
M: Yes. I was told five days ago. And I’m still about to b*rf (from stress.) I thought “Well, I’m debuting after Fale” (laughs) (Fale Simi Taitoko = a trainee from the same class / debuted in April)
- Mikami, please tell us about your background.
M: I did judo and amateur wrestling, and then entered Senshu University on a wrestling sports recommendation from Nigata prefecture’s Maki Agricultural High school (now Maki Sougou High School)
- That’s a famous college with a prestigious connection to pro wrestling, right?
M: Our coach was Hase Hiroshi (ex pro wrestler, current Lower House member) and Nakanishi (Manabu) would watch over our training sessions as well. Hirasawa (Mitsuhide) was a third year student there when I was a first year. But, I dropped out……
- Excuse me for asking, but why did you drop out?
M: Because I didn’t go to class. I was an economics major but I don’t have any interest in economics (laughs). I originally wanted to do pro wrestling, which is why I originally started amateur wrestling in the first place.
- So, after that?
M: I tried to enroll with New Japan Pro Wrestling, but my application didn’t make it past the initial screening. My dad scolded me, saying “What’re you gonna do about your student debt, you bastard!” and I thought “This is really bad” as I moved back to my hometown.
I owe my dad a large amount of money to pay off my student loan. So after that, I worked construction for about a year, and then for about four years I was a freeter working at restaurants, at a beach resort, a pachinko parlor, and so on. But then in May of 2009, the (New Japan Pro Wrestling dojo) admission test rules changed, and the height restriction was removed. Hirasawa said “Hey, what’re you gonna do? You gonna go for it?” and I submitted the application one more time.
- And in June 23rd of 2009, you became a student. Were you always a pro wrestling fan?
M: Yeah. Due to my dad’s influence, I always was. When I was still in preschool, I got hit by Stan Hansen’s bull rope at an All Japan show, and my pro wrestling awakening began. All Japan, New Japan, FMW, I loved ‘em all.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/15deb5454f005e2650218053427a9227/57fcd3000101c50c-85/s250x250_c1/32922a150399a4635730463844de9450eda2ffd2.jpg)
- Did you tell anyone about your debut?
M: My parents and my local friends. And later I told my friends on GREE [Note from me: GREE is a gaming social media ap, so this is kind of like telling your Steam friends or something] I told them, "I'm gonna be in a match." The reactions from everyone were pretty intense. Because I hadn't told anyone I was a trainee at New Japan. I only told everyone once the company officially announced it and posted my name on the website. As you might expect, my mother is worried about me. But my grandma, who loves pro wrestling, said “YEAH, GO GET EM!” (laughs)
- What is your special move?
M: I’m just debuting right now, I don’t have a special move yet (laughs) But, since I’ve been doing amateur wrestling for so long, I think I’ll concentrate on a single leg, double leg, and tackle.
- And your “sales point” is?
M: I’ve got a stocky body type, but I’m going for “chubby yet agile.”
- And your rivals are?
M: Right now, the students in the dojo are Fale and Takahashi, and classmates are perfect as rivals. And of course I’m aware of Hirasawa as well.
- What kind of wrestler do you want to be?
M: Most of all, I want to be someone that everyone wants to cheer for. Basically, it’s stupid, but I love attention (laughs) I want to be the kind of pro wrestler that makes the fans yell “DO YOUR BEST!”
- The opponent you want to fight is?
M: There are too many to even name.
- Finally, express your enthusiasm to us in one sentence.
M: Anyway, pleased to meet you all and thank you for your support, I’ll keep working hard and doing my best. Taguchi is IWGP Jr Tag Champion so, having a person like that as my debut opponent is an incredible honor. Anyway, I plan to use the things that he has taught me. Pleased to meet you all, thank you for your support.
#njpw#el desperado#my translation#yes his answer to that last question is exactly as awkward as it was in the original japanese lol#The type of construction work he did is specifically a construction worker who specializes in climbing to build and remove scaffolding#but I don't think there's a word for that in english?#Anyway I think of this interview and get emotional whenever someone in the crowd yells DO YOUR BEST at Desperado

𐙚 . YOUR EYES ONLY . . .
𝓅airing ∿ ran takahashi x f!reader ᰔ 𝑜ne shot ; fluff, established relationship 𐙚 𝓌c 1246 ᝰ.ᐟ 𝓇oro's note. hehe another ran fic! I really hope you guys love this one, writing fluffy boyfie ran is now my favorite thing ever ฅ́˘ฅ̀ hehe i listened to this song while writing, based on this ask ﹒ ꒰ 𝓁ibrary ꒱
𝒮. ran always plays better when he knows you, his sweet girlfriend is watching him play
When ran asked you to be his girlfriend he was a nervous and stuttering mess. His hands were shaking and sweating, and his heart felt like it was going to burst from his chest, his body tense as he looked at you, your pretty eyes staring right back at him. You didn't care about his sweaty shaking hands as you grabbed them, caressing the top of his hands softly with your thumbs as you said yes. And ran swore in the moment that he was the luckiest man on earth.
And he continued to feel that way as your relationship progressed over the years. He’s never known someone so loving, supporting and kind like you (besides his mother who absolutely loves you to pieces) and he swore he was in heaven every morning he woke up with you in his arms. He always hated having to leave you alone in bed while he went to early practices, he never failed to leave a ton of soft kisses all over your face before leaving.
He was totally and undeniably in love with you, flaws and all – ran didn't believe you had any flaws, something he loved to remind you about. His teammates liked to tease him all the time about you, calling him obsessed with how he always found a way to bring you up in the conversation, or laughing and teasing when he would check his phone on breaks just to see if you had texted him back.
They would laugh amongst themselves as they watched, ran scan the audience of people who came to watch them play, wanting to find you in the crowd before the match. Which was what he was doing now…
Ran stood a few feet from his teammates, absentmindedly fidgeting with his water bottle as he scanned the crowd. His eyes held the longing he felt as he searched for you. He anxiously rocked side to side on his feet as he searched for you, a little nervous for the match that was soon going to start and the fact that he still couldn't find you. But a happy smile quickly comes across his face and the nervousness he feels is fast to fade away when he finally sees you.
A few of his teammates watched him with a smile / smirk on their faces when they noticed how his eyes lit up when he finally found you, his tense shoulders instantly relaxing. There you were in your seat, clad in one of his jerseys, matching colored ribbons in your hair. A smile gracing your lips once you locked eyes with your boyfriend, both of you feeling breathless at the prolonged eye contact.
Ran regrettably has to break the loving eye contact when one of his teammates calls for him, waving him over to where the rest of his teammates and coach stood. He quickly looked back at you, chuckling to himself when you blew him a kiss. He wished he could blow one back, but he was well aware of all the cameras that were on him, and he didn't not want to create any dating rumors – he enjoyed the sweet private life the two of you shared.
So instead, he brought his hand to pat his chest, over his heart before touching the small pendant on his necklace that was tucked safely under his jersey – the pendant identical to the necklace you were wearing. He sent you one more smile that took your breath away before he joined his teammates, feeling more confident than ever to win knowing that your eyes were on him.
The confidence he felt was clear to see by everyone as the match went on, the term that's heavily used was that he was on fire. Every point he made or black, his eyes were always finding yours in the crowd, getting a surge of energy every time he saw you cheering for him. Seeing you grinning and cheering for him made him fall in love with you even more every time.
When the game started to get rough and he found himself getting nervous he would always glance at you, finding the sight of you calming. In the beginning you were always the one to make him nervous but now you were the one to calm him from his nerves . . .
The match of course ended with a win for ran and his teammates but ran couldn't exactly focus on celebrating the win – instead all he could think about was you. He hurried as he packed up his things in the locker room, eager to find you and go home. His teammates chuckled and teased him when they noticed his rushing, causing him to blush and shyly wave them off. As soon as he could leave, he was rushing to where he knew you were waiting for him.
His grip on his duffle bag loosened and his light jog turned into a walk once you came into his sight. At the end of the long hallway of the building you stood leaning up against the way, your attention down at your phone. You were quick to look up from your phone once you heard approaching footsteps, a grin spreading across both of your faces once you locked eyes.
Ran picked up his speed so he could get to you faster and you could barely slip your phone into your back pocket before you were being pulled into his arms. your giggle was muffled as your face was smushed against his chest in the eager hug. you were quick to wrap your arms around his waist, while he leant down to snuggle his face into your neck. Ran smiled and held you tight “hi pretty”
You pulled away a little despite the fact that you just wanted to melt in his arms. You tilted your head to look up at him smiling as you locked eyes, you could see the tiredness and happiness in his eyes – he played so well, you were so proud of him. Ran didn't wait for you to respond before he was leaning down, his lips finding yours. The kiss was soft at first but as you both poured out your emotion into the kiss, it was quick to turn heated.
Ran gently pushed you up against the wall, his hands trailing up your sides to cup your face with both hands. His duffle bag was long forgotten at his feet. Your hand trailed up his muscular back and tangled into his hair, but you quickly pulled away from the kiss – a small whine of disappointment leaving ran lips – thinking that you heard approaching footsteps, but you let out a small sigh of relief when no one came. You tore your eyes from the hallway and looked back up at your boyfriend who was looking at you with so much love in his eyes that it made you breathless for a few seconds.
“I’m so proud of you” you whispered happily, your eyes held so much love and adoration. Ran’s breath hitched and he felt his eyes start to water a little. A strong wave of emotions always came over him whenever you said that. Being loved by you was something he never wanted to lose; it was a love he never felt before.
“How did it feel to have thousands of eyes watching you tonight” you did your best to sound like an interviewer as you playfully held your fist close to his lips to act like a microphone. Ran grinned and chuckled at your silliness, he caressed your cheeks with his thumbs before leaning down to rest his forehead on yours, staring into your loved filled eyes as he whispered
“Your eyes only are the ones that matter to me”

THIS DAY IN GAY HISTORY
based on: The White Crane Institute's 'Gay Wisdom', Gay Birthdays, Gay For Today, Famous GLBT, glbt-Gay Encylopedia, Today in Gay History, Wikipedia, and more … December 15
boys, wear your pearls today!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/df82e170bd819694756e0b9e07b6fcab/2526a5850f768024-e3/s500x750/c605b30a4af207f8995f7b23611f97e5c28ba318.webp)
1904 – W. Dorr Legg (d.1994), was a landscape architect and one of the founders of the United States gay rights movement, then called the homophile movement.
He trained as a landscape architect at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and from 1935 was professor of landscape architecture at Oregon State Agricultural College (now Oregon State University), but moved back to Michigan in the 1940s to care for his father and the family business. While there he fell in love with Merton Bird, an accountant.
Hoping to find a social environment more accepting of their interracial relationship, Legg, who was white, and Bird, an African American, moved to Los Angeles in 1949. Shortly thereafter the couple founded a social organization for interracial gay couples, the Knights of the Clocks, a name that Legg called "deliberately ambiguous." The society flourished for several years in the early 1950s.
The couple actively joined the national Mattachine Society, but Legg later led a split to co-found ONE, Inc.. Legg and Bird were among the six original members of ONE, which took its name from a line by Thomas Carlyle, "A mystic bond of brotherhood makes all men one."
Legg gave up his career as a landscape architect to become the business manager of the organization's monthly publication, also called ONE, the first issue of which appeared in 1953. It became the first widely distributed gay publication in the United States.
The magazine was a slim volume at first, typically running from twenty to thirty pages in length. The content initially consisted mainly of essays on topics of interest to the gay community but also included stories, poems, and book reviews. As time went on, the magazine grew, featuring articles on gay studies in the humanities, social and natural sciences, and medicine. By the end of the 1950s, the magazine had attained a distribution of five thousand copies.
The United States Post Office confiscated the October 1954 issue of ONE on the grounds that it was "lewd, obscene, lascivious and filthy" and could therefore not be sent through the mails.
ONE sued Los Angeles Postmaster Otto K. Olesen, who prevailed in the first round when in March 1956 U. S. District Judge Thurmond Clark agreed that the publication was obscene. He also stated that "the suggestion that homosexuals should be recognized as a segment of the populace is rejected."
ONE appealed the decision in the Ninth Circuit, which upheld the lower court's ruling in March 1957. The case next went to the United States Supreme Court.
The justices ruled in favor of ONE in January 1958. Their decision in ONE, Incorporated v. Olesen was per curiam, meaning that they held the issue to be so obvious that no lengthy written opinion was needed.
The news media gave the Supreme Court decision scant attention. Nevertheless, the case was a landmark, establishing the right to send gay and lesbian material through the mail. It had enormous consequence for the fledgling rights movement.
ONE remained in publication until 1969. Financing it had long been a problem. Donors had helped keep the magazine afloat, but the loss of their monetary support combined with a loss of readership to magazines of a more radical viewpoint made the enterprise no longer viable.
Legg traveled to Germany in the 1950s to recover the remains of the archives of the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft.
Legg died in Los Angeles on July 26, 1994 of natural causes. He was survived by his life partner of thirty years, John Najima.
In 2011 the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association announced that Legg would be inducted into its hall of fame.
1937 – In his explicitly gay works, Mutsuo Takahashi, internationally recognized poet and playwright, celebrates homosexual desire.
Takahashi was born in Japan on December 15, 1937, and educated at Fukuoka University of Education. He has published several volumes of poetry, including You Dirty Ones, Do Dirtier Things (1966), Poems of A Penisist (1975), The Structure of The Kingdom (1982), A Bunch of Keys (1984), Practice/Drinking Eating (1988), The Garden of Rabbits (1988), and Sleeping Sinning Falling (1992).
As a child, Takahashi spent much time with extended family and other neighbors. Especially important to him during this time was an uncle that served a pivotal figure in Takahashi's development, serving as a masculine role model and object of love. However, historical fate intervened, and the uncle, whom Takahashi later described in many early poems, was sent to the battlefield in Burma, where illness claimed his life.
Takahashi and his mother went to live in the port of Moji, just as the bombings of the mainland by the Allied powers intensified. Takahashi's memoirs describe that although he hated the war, World War II provided a chaotic and frightening circus for his classmates, who would go to gawk at the wreckage of the B-29s that fell from the sky and to watch ships blow up at sea, destroyed by naval mines. Takahashi writes that when the war came to an end, he felt a great sense of relief.
In his memoirs and interviews, Takahashi has mentioned that in the time he spent with his schoolmates, he became increasingly aware of his own sexual preference for men. This became a common subject in the first book of poetry he published in 1959.
Few poets bring as much skill and passion to their poems, especially those that consider homosexual desire. His work in drama has also earned acclaim. He won the Yamamoto Kenkichi Prize in 1987 for his stage script called Princess Medea. Other works in drama include an adaptation of W. B. Yeats's play At The Hawk's Well and a noh play inspired by Georges Bataille's Le Procès de Gil de Rais.
Even in his earliest work, Takahashi writes with vitality and precision about homosexual desire. Although Japan does not outlaw homosexual relations, the homosexual there remains an outcast because often he does not engage in the rituals and practices of Japanese family life.
The "okama" ("queen") is laughed at and ostracized. The more he is ostracized, the easier it is to keep the laughter going—at the okama's expense. Takahashi's poems give dignity to the okama, celebrating both his sexual desires and his outcast status.
Homoeroticism was an important them in his poetry written in free verse through the 1970s, including the long poem Ode, which the publisher Winston Leyland has called "the great gay poem of the 20th century." Many of these early works have been translated into English by Hiroaki Sato and reprinted in the collection Partings at Dawn: An Anthology of Japanese Gay Literature.
About the same time, Takahashi started writing prose. In 1970, he published Twelve Views from the Distance about his early life and the novella The Sacred Promontory about his own erotic awakening. In 1972, he wrote A Legend of a Holy Place, a surrealistic novella inspired by his own experiences during a forty-day trip to New York City in which Donald Richie led him through the gay, underground spots of the city. In 1974, he released Zen's Pilgrimage of Virtue, a homoerotic and often extremely humorous reworking of a legend of Sudhana found in the Buddhist classic Avatamsaka Sutra.
Moreover, most of Takahashi's explicitly gay work celebrates desire, finding joy in the male body much as Walt Whitman's poems do. The poems eagerly name body parts as they probe desire and longing.
The speaker of Takahashi's masterful poem "Ode" celebrates his erotic and promiscuous life much as a priest celebrates the Eucharist. This 1,000-line poem begins with a parody of the Mass: "In the name of / Man, member, / and the holy fluid, / AMEN." As the speaker seeks out sex in the places most frowned on by his society, he is reborn, saved by each new encounter. The glory hole, for example, takes on spiritual significance. Only what is "made flesh" satisfies.
Poems of A Penisist is one of the most important collections of poetry on homosexual desire and sex written in this century. The personae in these poems do not compromise—they see the world as outsiders ("a faggot that fingers point at") but being outsiders brings them joy and meaning. As the majority society mocks and condemns them, their joy in their identity as gay men, as individuals who enjoy pleasure with other men, gives them strength.
1958 – Alfredo Ormando, Italian homosexual, who committed ritual suicide to protest Church policies toward homosexuality.
Ormando was one of eight children from an impoverished family, who had been struggling to make a success of a writing career, after spending two years in a seminary. He had been suffering from serious depression, which clearly had multiple causes.
In December 1997 he wrote this letter to a friend of his in Reggio Emilia:
Palermo, Christmas 1997 Dear Adriano, this year I can't feel it's Christmas anymore, it is indifferent to me like everything; nothing can bring me back to life. I keep on getting ready for my suicide day by day; I feel this is my fate, I've always been aware but never accepted, but this tragic fate is there, it's waiting for me with a patience of Job which looks incredible. I haven't been able to escape this idea of death, I feel I can't avoid it, nor can I pretend to live and plan a future I do not have; my future will just be a prosecution of this present. I live with the awareness of who's leaving this life and this doesn't look dreadful to me! No! I can't wait for the day I will bring this life of mine to an end; they will think I am mad because I have chosen Saint Peter Square to be the place where I'll set myself on fire, while I could do it here in Palermo as well. I hope they'll understand the message I want to convey; it is a form of protest against the Church which demonises homosexuality, demonising nature at the same time, because homosexuality is its daughter. Alfredo.
On 13 January 1998 he set himself on fire in Saint Peter's Square in Rome to protest the attitudes and policies of the Roman Catholic Church regarding homosexual Christians. After two policemen put out the flames, he was brought to Sant'Eugenio hospital in critical condition. He died there 11 days later.
After his death, the Vatican denied that this had anything to do with the Church or homosexuality. Through its spokesperson, Father Ciro Benedettini, the Church downplayed the significance of the act.
In 2000, the year of the Jubilee, Pope John-Paul II exhorted his followers in the same spot where Alfredo Ormando had set himself on fire two years prior, telling them that homosexuality was "unnatural," and that the Church had a "duty to distinguish between good and evil."
In 2005, the new Pope Benedict committed himself to even harsher anti-gay teachings, initiating what some see as a gay witchhunt within the Catholic clergy, fighting same-sex partnership legislation worldover, and sending the message that homosexuals have no place in God's kingdom.
However, in September 2013, Pope Francis said the church shouldn't "interfere spiritually" with the lives of LGBT people in a wide-ranging interview in which he also said the church cannot focus solely on opposing abortion, contraception, and marriage equality. A month earlier, the pope told a group of reporters that he wouldn't judge gay priests, asking, "If someone is gay and seeks the Lord with good will, who am I to judge?"
Change comes slowly in the Catholic church.
1961 – Jack Halberstam, also known as Judith Halberstam, is Professor of American Studies and Ethnicity, Gender Studies, and Comparative Literature, as well as serving as the Director of The Center for Feminist Research at University of Southern California (USC). Halberstam was the Associate Professor in the Department of Literature at the University of California at San Diego before working at USC. He is a gender and queer theorist and author.
Halberstam, who accepts masculine and feminine pronouns, as well as the name "Judith," with regard to his gender identity, focuses on the topic of tomboys and female masculinity for his writings. His 1998 Female Masculinity book discusses a common by-product of gender binarism, termed "the bathroom problem" with outlining the dangerous and awkward dilemma of a perceived gender deviant's justification of presence in a gender-policed zone, such as a public bathroom, and the identity implications of "passing" therein.
Assigned female at birth, he uses the pronouns "he/his" with regard to his gender identity and goes by the name Jack, but says that "some people call me Jack, my sister calls me Jude, people I've known forever call me Judith" and "I try not to police any of it. A lot of people call me he, some people call me she, and I let it be a weird mix of things." The name "Judith Halberstam" has also accompanied "Jack" on some of Halberstam's later books.
Halberstam acknowledges that he is "a bit of a free floater" when it comes to pronouns. He said that "the back and forth between he and she sort of captures the form that my gender takes nowadays" and that the floating gender pronouns have captured his refusal to resolve his gender ambiguity. Halberstam does, however, state that "grouping me with someone else who seems to have a female embodiment and then calling us 'ladies', is never, ever ok!"
Jack is a popular speaker and gives lectures in the United States and internationally on queer failure, sex and media, subcultures, visual culture, gender variance, popular film and animation. Halberstam is currently working on several projects including a book on fascism and (homo)sexuality.
1974 – We're not sure of the exact date but sometime in December 1974, two Boston Gay rights activists, Bernie Toal and Tom Morganti, created a symbol of Gay pride. It was not to have lasting influence but it's damned cute and certainly speaks to the creativity that occurred in the years following the Stonewall uprising. The symbol was the purple rhino. The entire campaign was intended to bring Gay issues further into public view. The rhino started being displayed in subways in Boston , but since the creators didn't qualify for a public service advertising rate, the campaign soon became too expensive for the activists to handle. The ads disappeared, and the rhino never caught on anywhere else. As Toal put it, "The rhino is a much maligned and misunderstood animal and, in actuality, a gentle creature. But when a rhinoceros is angered, it fights ferociously." At the time, this seemed a fitting symbol for the Gay rights movement. Lavender was used because it was a widely recognized Gay pride color and the heart was added to represent love and the "common humanity of all people." The purple rhinoceros was never copyrighted and is in the public domain.
1994 – Jason Brown is an American figure skater. He is a nine-time Grand Prix medalist, a two-time Four Continents medalist (2020 silver, 2018 bronze), and the 2015 U.S. national champion. Earlier in his career, he became a two-time World Junior medalist (2013 silver, 2012 bronze), the 2011 Junior Grand Prix Final champion, and the 2010 junior national champion.
At only 19, Brown won a bronze medal in the team event at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, becoming one of the youngest male figure skating Olympic medalists.
He came out as gay via Instagram post on June 11, 2021.
2000 – The Supreme Court of Canada finds in favor of the Crown in the Little Sister's Book and Art Emporium v. Canada obscenity case. However, they found that the way the law was implemented by customs officials was discriminatory and should be remedied, an opinion they suggested would avail the bookstore in any further legal battles

LINKS TO BE UPDATED
The landscape of New Japan Pro Wrestling has changed enormously in the past couple of months. For example if you told someone a year ago that Kazuchika Okada would hold a non singles belt, theyd laugh in your face.
So how did we get here?
google doc version
Your current champions
Sanada beat Kazuchika Okada for the IWGP heavyweight championship at Sakura Genesis, and has since defended it against Hiromu Takahashi, the current junior heavyweight champion.
Hiromu won the belt at Wrestle Kingdom in a four-way match against Master Wato, El Desperado, and former champion Taiji Ishimori.
The IWGP women’s title was created last year and won by Kairi at Historic X-over. She lost the belt to Mercedes Moné, who was champion until Mayu Iwatani dethroned her recently.
Aussie Open hold the tag titles after defeating Bishamon, and they’ve gone on to win the Strong openweight tag team championships from the Motor City Machine Guns.
David Finlay is the NEVER openweight champion, bringing the belt back in to Bullet Club after Tama Tonga defeated Karl Anderson for it at Wrestle Kingdom.
Intergalactic Jetsetters (Kushida And Kevin Knight) finally ended the reign of Catch 2/2 (Tjp And Francesco Akira) as junior heavyweight tag team champions during the road to Wrestling Dontaku tour, thank god.
Kazuchika Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Tomohiro Ishii are the NEVER openweight six man champions winning the titles from Strong Style (El Desperado, Minoru Suzuki And Ren Narita). If you think that sentence is insane, don’t worry I’ll explain whats happening.
Zack Sabre Jr became the inaugural NJPW World TV champion, winning the tournament at Wrestle Kingdom by defeating Ren Narita, and he’s had some incredible defenses since (you might’ve seen him on ROH).
the KOPW trophy graduated to a belt after El Phantasmo broke it, and Taichi is the current provisional champion having defeated Shingo Takagi for it.
Kenta lost the strong openweight championship to Hikuleo in the first defense of the belt in Japan, after winning it from Fred Rosser (with Juice interference).
at the time of writing this the Strong women’s title does exist but the tournament to decide its first owner has yet to be held (Resurgence may 21st).
Karl Anderson will pay for his crimes
Those who have been following me since november last year know that Suzuki-gun, a heel faction in NJPW led by Minoru Suzuki, has come to an end. I was inconsolable. There are multiple reasons for this happening, but the main one is Karl Anderson.
While Anderson is a member of Bullet Club, and in fall of last year was still the NEVER openweight champion, he is contracted to WWE and was on a handshake deal with NJPW, essentially promising he’ll appear at shows they book him for. There was a scheduling conflict with one of WWE’s saudi shows, and Anderson essentially ghosted the company not appearing for his title defense against Hikuelo, which meant I had to watch Yujiro Takahashi wrestle. anyway this all meant that New Japan lost faith in their freelancers, and because the majority of Suzuki-gun were on handshake deals, this meant the faction had to go. Their last match was on december 23rd (njpwworld) (bilibili link) and it was very emotional and beautiful, and I was incredibly sad.
Shota came back!
Shota Umino, who you may know as the protege of Jon Moxley, returned from excursion in the fall of last year. Young lions (NJPW trainees) are sent abroad to foreign promotions by the company to train and gather experience in different environments to Japan. Shota was in Britain for a time and he returned, challenging Will Ospreay for the US title he still held at the time. He lost but with this high profile title shot he joined the ranks of the young stars NJPWhas much faith vested in.
This also includes Ren Narita, who you may not know because he was never adopted by a mean american man. he was trained by Katsuyori Shibata, earning the nickname Son of Strong Style and wearing similar gear to Shibata as well. The company seems to be trying to set him up to be Shibata’s successor, and he wrestles a similarly, clean technical style.
A recent addition to their ranks is Yota Tsuji, whose return I will explain later.
The IWGP women’s title
Women’s wrestling promotion Stardom and NJPW are both owned by Bushiroad. Because of this last year there was a crossover between the two promotions, which saw the first mixed tag matches in an NJPW ring. Great show, you should watch it. (njpwworld link) (bilibili link)
For this event, the IWGP women’s championship was created and won by Kairi. Now I have some thoughts about how Stardom is already full of accomplished talented women, and putting a women’s match on the card once in a blue moon isn’t a win for women in wrestling and you should maybe try watching Stardom instead (guide on how to do that). But I digress. Regardless of whether or not this is pandering, every match for the belt was undoubtedly incredible and I will be linking them all in the rec section.
A brief Wrestle Kingdom aside
You fucking know what happened at Wrestle Kingdom I shouldn’t have to explain this to you. Kenny Omega returned and defeated Will Ospreay for the US title, and Okada won his beloved IWGP belt back from Jay White, starting him down the path of leaving NJPW.
What you might not know is what happened at Wrestle Kingdom Night 2, which confusingly was held some weeks later. Wrestle Kingdom traditionally is a show between NOAH and NJPW, so Night 2 saw the two promotions pitch their most popular wrestlers against each other. Okada was set to fight Kaito Kiyomiya in a tag team match, but he thought this challenge beneath him and attempted to murder Kiyomiya ruling the match a no contest.
Later in february, at Keiji Muto’s retirement show, Okada did have to face off Kiyomiya in a singles bout, despite his protests that he is not some cheap whore (his words not mine). That entire show is incredibly good but not extremely relevant to NJPW storylines, as crossover events usually are not. (njpwworld) (unoffical link)
After Wrestle Kingdom, New Japan holds New Year’s Dash and the New Beginning shows where they set up new storylines that will likely last the whole year. Jay White challenges Hikuleo to a loser leaves Japan match, because he blames him and his brothers (Guerillas of Destiny) for Bullet Club weakening and his loss at Wrestle Kingdom. He promptly loses this match. Bummer.
El Desperado refuses to accept that Suzuki-gun is over and joins Minoru Suzuki in defending Ren Narita from House of Torture’s dastardly attack, leading to the formation of their trios team; Strong Style. They then go on to defeat House of Torture for the NEVER openweight six man tag team titles. Now this is crazy but we dont have time to dwell on it because the other remnants of Suzuki-gun are also making moves that are considerably more insane.
Its time for: faction madness
There are a lot of factions in New Japan Pro Wrestling. like a lot. Every storyline is heavily driven by who is in what faction and where their allegiences lie. This might be confusing to you if you only watch AEW, a promotion where factions matter less than what Tony adds to commentary.
TMDK
Naturally ex-Suzuki-gun member and best technical wrestler in the known universe Zack Sabre Jr couldn’t simply remain in Hontai, the main body of New Japan where factionless members of the roster belong. Luckily he was a free agent for all of five seconds before his old australian buddies snatched him and his fresh tv championship up. TMDK, known as an australian faction despite a solid half not being from Australia, has suffered some losses in the past year. Jonah, their strongest member, a man who defeated even Kazuchika Okada, left Japan for WWE. Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls, founding members of the faction and a tag team under the same name, have failed to succeed in winning Tag League in fall of last year. Safe to say, they needed a win. Zack has teamed with them during his time in NOAH, so it was only logical that he would return to his old friends. They even recruited a young lion, Kosei Fujita, who became the first young lion in a faction if you don’t count Hikuleo which was a slightly different situation. TMDK also includes Bad Dude Tito (or Big Teets) over in the States.
The addition of Zack really reinvigorated the faction. Shane and Mikey challenged and failed to defeat Aussie Open for the tag titles, and Robbie Eagles left Chaos for more australian pastures, joining the faction when he challenged Hiromu Takahashi for his championship. Robbie also lost but TMDK didn’t let these setbacks stop them from cutting the weirdest promos after every match and staunchly insisting Fujita (who they’ve nicknamed Big Fooj) will be the first young lion to win a championship.
United Empire
Will Ospreay is no longer the IWGP US heavyweight champion. After losing to Kenny Omega he threw a hissy fit and declared that he would give professional wrestling one more year. He also entered the New Japan Cup, a tournament for the right to challenge for the IWGP championship. Unfortunately in a match against his friend and stablemate Mark Davis (of Aussie Open and ass size fame) he injured his shoulder which put him out of action until about last week. He won the 1pw world title though, so he’s fine.
Other than that, the faction has been doing fairly well for themselves. After a titanic struggle against Bishamon, Aussie Open won the tag titles and have gone on to defend them against TMDK and somehow, Best Friends on AEW television. They also won the Strong tag titles, and Kyle Fletcher managed to botch a moonsault in both matches. You’ve definitely seen them even if you don’t watch NJPW, their schedule is insane and they have a banger of a match practically on a weekly average.
Also tag champions in the faction were Catch 2/2, who held the junior titles until fairly recently. They’ve had great defenses against YOH and his new tag partner, Lio Rush (more on that in a second) and Douki and Yoshinobu Kanemaru. What you need to know about Catch 2/2 is that TJP is a PragerU weirdo and Akira is good albeit italian.
UE also includes Jeff Cobb, who you might’ve seen challenging for Kenny Omega’s US title on Dynamite. He is incredible I don’t have anything else to say. He also kind of thinks flat earthers have a point. He’s really good though.
Also in the faction are Aaron Henare, men’s rights weirdo who challenged and lost to Shingo Takagi for the KOPW belt and Great O Khan who is somehow the Revpro champion. He is notable for having a nice bow in his hair and screeching. The most recent recruit to the faction is Dan Moloney, who unfortunately is fairly unknown to me. He joined the faction as a junior heavyweight and subsequently entered the Best of Super Juniors Tournament, which I will explain later.
Chaos
I’ve previously described Chaos as Hontai 2.0, because that’s really what it is. Lead by Kazuchika Okada, Chaos was the original heel faction in NJPW, founded by Shinsuke Nakamura. Nowadays it is a loose collection of allegiances that confusingly includes the entire Best Friends faction in AEW. Yes, that includes Trent’s mum Sue. Since becoming faces, Chaos members regularly team with Hontai because it all doesn’t really matter.
Kazuchika Okada defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi at Battle in the Valley, and then asked him to tag together. They named themselves the Dream Team, and I only briefly pondered how well it ended the last time Tana teamed with a younger star. Anyways I’m sure this will go fine. They challenged Okada’s fellow Chaos members Bishamon for their tag titles they still held at that time, and sadly lost that match. They defeated the team of Shota Umino and Ren Narita, and then once again failed to obtain gold in a 3-way match against the Motor City Machine Guns and Aussie Open (who won). After Okada lost his belt, they recruited Tomohiro Ishii, who doesn’t like Tanahashi and doesn’t want to team with him because he isn’t in Chaos. Despite this, they managed to defeat Strong Style for the NEVER openweight six man championships.
Bishamon I’ve covered sufficiently enough I think, they are the team of Hirooki Goto who recently celebrated his 20th anniversary in professional wrestling and YOSHI-HASHI who used to be incredibly horrible and is less bad recently. They are fun and I like them.
YOH and SHO were a junior tag team in Chaos until SHO turned heel, joining Bullet Club. This left YOH in a sort of strange limbo, where he contemplated quitting wrestling and pursuing his more artistic ambitions (he is a musician and an artist). Rocky Romero, also a member of Chaos, got him and Lio Rush together to team for Junior Tag League, and they ended up winning the tournament! Although they failed to defeat catch 2/2 at Wrestle Kingdom, and Lio got injured, teaming with him seemed to bring YOH’s confidence back. He’s been wrestling slightly differently and with more self-assurence. The pair both separately challenged and lost to Hiromu Takahashi, two incredible matches that I will link below. Not even these losses brought YOH’s confidence down though, and he’s entered BOSJ alongside Lio although they are in different blocks.
Also members of Chaos are Rocky Romero, Best Friends (including Kris Statlander, Orange Cassidy, Sue, and I think quite possibly Danhausen), Toru Yano who is kind of a funny little man, and Tomohiro Ishii.
Los Ingobernables de Japon
Led by Tetsuya Naito, the tweener group is more of a loose collection of talented individuals than your regular faction. LIJ has a policy of letting their members forge their own paths and create their own success, instead of letting them fall back on the power of the group.
Maybe the only exception to this rule is Hiromu Takahashi, who owes a lot of his success to the faction as well as his mentor Tetsuya Naito. Hiromu is very talented and has a very unique style both in his wrestling and his fashion sense. Unbiased corner ahead I like him a lot. He holds junior wrestlers in very high regard and recently organized the All Star Junior festival to showcase junior heavyweights from all around japan (njpwworld ppv) (vk link). He has a plush cat named Daryl. Hiromu is kind of the ace of the junior division right now, he is on his fifth title reign and is trying to defend the belt 12 times to beat the current defense record of 11 held by Minoru Tanaka. Currently he is 4 defenses into this streak, having defeated YOH, Lio Rush, Robbie Eagles and Yoshinobu Kanemaru. Despite being champion he entered BOSJ, a tournament he’s won four times, three times in a row. If he wins, he’ll get to hand pick his opponent at Dominion.
I have no clue what to say about Tetsuya Naito. To quote my friend Jay, “it’s naito. he is an indescribable force of non-functional knees and the driest hair you've ever seen. he takes ten years to remove his entrance gear. he is naito”. You fucking know who Tetsuya Naito is.
This year, the main thing he’s done is defeating his mentor Keiji Muto at his retirement show in Febuary (njpwworld link) (vk link). He has a very hands off approach towards leading his group, sort of letting everyone figure their things out, which is why he didn’t really seem worried about his match against his stablemate Sanada in the New Japan Cup. You can imagine his surprise when Sanada not only defeated him but then declared that he would be leaving the faction, but more on that later. He also recently had a singles match against DOUKI, which was incredible.
Also members of LIJ are Shingo Takagi, winner of KOPW 2022 and former KOPW 2023 provisional champion, and also living legend. He made his name in Dragon Gate, a different japanese promotion you should also watch (I’m not at all being held at gunpoint by people whose names start with J), Bushi and Titan, who are both junior heavyweight luchadors I don’t know as much about as I should. They’re really good and they are both in BOSJ this year.
Bullet Club
Do I even need to explain. Don’t worry I will.
Jay White lost his loser leaves Japan match to Hikuleo, but there was hope. He promised Gedo he would go to America and wrestle on Strong and right his wrongs. So obviously he immediately lost a loser leaves New Japan match to Eddie Kingston, barring him from ever wrestling in a New Japan ring ever again. After weeks of radio silence, he showed up on Dynamite, forming Bullet Culb Gold (2 bullet 2 club) with Juice Robinson and you all know what happened after that.
It’s spring which means it’s Bullet Club infighting season. After Jay’s loss, his long time rival David Finlay waltzed into the ring all goth and angry, cutting a promo about how the japanese fans never appreciated him and he is an outsider wherever he goes. If this didn’t make it clear to you that he was the new leader, don’t worry it wasn’t clear to me or El Phantasmo either.
ELP was friends with Jay White, and made the rest of the Club agree that they will let Jay ride off into the sunset. A peaceful transfer of power is however impossible in Bullet Club, which is kind of a Stanford prison experiment for closeted gay men. It started bothering Phantasmo, that everyone in his faction so readily accepted Finlay as the new leader, like they weren’t fully behind Jay only a week ago. And anyone who questions the leader has to go.
Then came a months long game of gay betrayal chicken. Every postmatch, Phantasmo would assure Finlay that they were doing it for the club, refuse to too sweet the new leader, and the two slapping eachother in place of a tag. Meanwhile the faces in Hontai were increasingly more accepting towards ELP, Shota Umino even gave him one of his bracelets. The tension came to a boil at Sakura Genesis, where in a tag team match against Guerillas of Destiny and Master Wato, Phantasmo refused to commit the clubs usual heel antics and was brutally kicked out in response. Despite his close friendship with Taiji Ishimori and Kenta, both men readily betrayed him for David Finlay.
Phantasmo returned as a face to beat Finlay up after he defeated Tama Tonga for the NEVER belt, and the two have a title match set at Dominion.
As I mentioned Kenta and Taiji Ishimori are both members of Bullet Club, and Finlay recently recruited Clark Connors to be the clubs newest junior. He entered BOSJ alongside Taiji. Gedo, the head booker of NJPW is also a member of BC but he mainly stands ominously in the background and in kayfabe doesn’t have a massive role in storylines.
HOUSE OF TORTURE
I have to explain what’s going on here. Bullet Club has sort of a subesction? Called House of Torture. They’re only really part of BC in name only, and merch sales. Their thing is gratuitous cheating, if one HoT member has a match, the rest of them aren’t far behind making every match a handicap. Their members are EVIL, the leader of the group and former LIJ member, Yujiro Takahashi the incredible slow motion man whose joints creak audibly with every move, Dick Togo and SHO, who joined after betraying YOH and turning heel. SHO is actually pretty good but the presence of HoT at every match really ruins. Everything. I try not thinking about them.
JUST 5 GUYS
NOW baby. The reason I’m even writing this. The worst faction name in the history of pro wrestling. This faction is made of four ex-Suzuki-gun members and Sanada. Originally called Just Four Guys when Taka Michinoku, Taichi, Yoshinobu Kanemaru and DOUKI announced they would be forming a faction at New Year’s Dash. Taka made some baseless claims about how they will defeat everyone and change the landscape of New Japan. He also came up with their new catchphrase “You already die”. Commentary and everyone else immediately dismissed them as a joke that will last maybe a couple of months. Oh how wrong we were.
Initially, the group did not have much success. Douki and Uncle Nobu lost to Catch 2/2 in their title match against them, Taka kept getting pinned and they failed to deliver on their promises to destroy everyone who stood in their way.
Taichi, as their only heavyweight, entered the New Japan Cup. His first match was against Sanada, a man he’s had some history with when he was still tagging with Zack Sabre Jr as Dangerous Tekkers. Sanada was a man not really renowned for anything, he hasn’t seen any singles success since joining LIJ by helping Tetsuya Naito cheat, except for a US title run cut short with no defenses due to an injury. He had blonde hair and the best or the worst move in pro wrestling history, depending on if you ask my friend Ryan or me. He never hits a moonsault. I don’t think Naito even knew who he was.
Safe to say, absolutely no one expected Sanada to defeat Taichi, much less his superior Naito. What we expected the least is for him to announce he is leaving LIJ for Just 4 Guys, which was now to be renamed JUST 5 GUYS. With dark hair, a clean shaven face and soon, new gear as well, Sanada really found his footing among this motley crew, the way he never managed in his seven years during LIJ. He went on to blaze through the competition in the Cup, winning it and subsequently defeating Kazuchika Okada for the IWGP world heavyweight championship. Absolutely no one has expected this to happen, ever. Yet somehow, it is also one of the coolest things to happen, ever.
His former faction members in LIJ mostly seemed to just sort of accept he left, except for Hiromu. He said while he understood Sanada’s reasons for leaving, he felt betrayed. Hiromu challenged Sanada to a match for the heavyweight championship. No junior heavyweight has been able to defeat the heavyweight champion in the history of the company, although this match is not the first of its kind.
When Sanada defeated Hiromu, the returning Yota Tsuji walked out into the ring and beat him up, held up the LIJ fist and carried Hiromu out of the ring. We don’t really know if this means he’ll be joining the faction, but it’s very likely, and the two have a match set at Dominion.
Obviously other stuff has happened but this is already 4000 words long and I still have things to explain to you.
Whats happening right now
As I’m writing this, the 30th Best of the Super Juniors is just beginning. BOSJ is a round robin style tournament, just like the G1 where wrestlers are divided into two blocks and everyone fights everyone in their block. Usually, the winners of the two blocks face off against each other to win the tournament, but this year, the winner of each block faces off against the person who came second in the other block, and the winners of those matches are the finalists. The winner has the right to challenge for the IWGP junior heavyweight championship at Dominion.
This year’s participants are as follows.
I think this is absolutely the perfect time to get int New Japan. The junior division is full of incredibly talented wrestlers who focus more on fast paced high flying style matches and every one of them is easy to watch and very entertaining. The entire tour will be broadcast with full english coverage.
How do I watch all of this
New Japan conveniently has a streaming service called NJPW world, membership is 999 yen per month. Dont forget to toggle it to english in the upper left corner! Most shows have english commentary and in my opinion it is pretty good commentary. Even if you don’t want to pay for the site, it has a schedule page (upper right corner) which even displays multiple timezones, and links to the card for every upcoming show.
The site also has some free content, for example the backstage comments after every show. Backstage comments are essentially short interviews with the wrestlers directly after every match, which makes for very fun adrenaline fuelled nonsense. Search backstage comment on the site, or check the njpwworld youtube channel. The videos always have subtitles, but it takes the transcribers time, subs are usually out a day after shows air.
PIRACY
In case you’d like to sail the high seas, you have a couple of options.
Watching show’s live I would recommend watchprowrestling.org for. They upload the shows and you can watch them live as well with a bit of delay.
If you’re looking for older stuff, you should try searching on bilibili (dont be intimidated by the language barrier, its quite easy to use) or this specific user on vk.com.

The companion of righteous dog warriors Interview with Yoshihiro Takahashi
Attention! Contains spoilers from the Ginga series!
Originally published in 1983-1987, Ginga Nagareboshi Gin also known as Silver Fang hardly needs to be introduced because Silver Fang and other Ginga-series have won the hearts of Finnish audience since the 80s, their creator Yoshihiro Takahashi is one of the most loved mangaka in Finland. At the end of last summer, Finnish fans were delighted to hear that Takahashi would visit Helsinki from 15th to 18h of September.
Japanese Yokote Masuda Manga Museum, which organized the visit, held an exhibition that presented the mangaka's original drawings from the series at the Kamppi, Muji store. Located in the city of Yokote, Akita Prefecture, the museum keeps the world's largest collection of Takahashi's original works. The mangaka himself is also from Akita, more specifically from a small village in Higashinaruse. During the exhibition, Takahashi met his fans at the autograph session. There was also reason to celebrate as the mangaka turned 70 during the visit. Silver Fang manga also turns 40 this year.
On Thursday, before the big autograph signing, Anime magazine got a rare opportunity to talk with Takahashi about his life - and of course about dogs. Mangaka joyfully met the representatives of Anime together with the museum director Oishi Takashi and founder of Komachi Consulting, Minako Lakso. Sangatsu Manga's editorial manager Antti Valkama acted as an interpreter.
In his career, Takahashi has created manga series on various topics, but the success of Silver Fang made him a true "dog mangaka". As one of the inspirations of his youth Takahashi mentions Kyuuta Ishikawa (1940-2018), who created dog and wolf mangas in the 60s and 70s. - Although Ishikawa drew the dogs much more realistically than I did. My dogs are a lot more expressive and cartoonish. Later, Takahashi met Ishikawa's assistant, Seiichi Ikeuchi, by chance. The two became friends through a shared hobby of golf, and Ikeuchi also draws especially golf-focused sports manga. Takahashi laughs that like Ishikawa, Ikeuchi tried to make a dog manga back in the day, but didn't succeed as well as he did with the golf manga.
Dogs have played a major role in Takahashi's stories as well as in everyday life. Different breeds and their the personalities have become familiar to him. From his youth, he fondly remembered the family's Akita mix named Kuro. Kuro (translated as Black) was Takahashi's brother-like partner. Akitas are considered challenging and difficult to approach, because they don't express their emotions as clearly as most other breeds. But Takahashi didn't have trouble understanding Kuro. - Once, I think I was 5 years old, a traveling shoe salesman came to our home. When the salesman stood in the hall, Kuro and I watched what he was doing. When the shopkeeper jokingly decided to grab me, Kuro growled at the man. Otherwise it didn't react to anything, but the child had to be protected. Takahashi learned from Kuro that important things to you should be protected. This is transmitted clearly in his works. During Takahashi's adulthood, the family has included, among other things, a Labrador retriever and a wolf-dog hybrid (mentioned to also have german shepherd and husky in their heritage) imported from the United States. In Finland, a hybrid between a dog and a wolf can not have more than 12.5% wolf, but in Japan no dog breed or cross between dog and wolf is directly denied. Because Takahashi's hybrid arrived to Japan when it was two years old and well trained, there were no major difficulties in importation. They say the dog ran away sometimes, but in the end it always came back home.
When it comes to dogs in his works, Takahashi chooses a breed according to the personality of the character. In terms of stories, his favorite breed is the German Shepherd thanks to their sense of justice, but also their stubborn pride and edginess. Based on his long experience, writing male dogs is natural for him, but with productive female characters mangaka has difficulties. Besides Cross from Silver Fang and Lydia from Ginga Densetsu Weed (1999-2009, in Finland only known as Weed), female warriors are rare in the series. Timidly Takahashi says that he tries his best when it comes to female characters, although they are difficult to write. However, he is satisfied with Lydia thanks to character's multidimensionality.
In addition to challenging female characters, Takahashi has had to make difficult choices on character's fate. The death of the loved German Shepherd John was a difficult thing even for the mangaka. Readers especially give feedback when a character dies. Takahashi remembers an incident that happened when he visited Animecon in Kuopio in 2012. A fan who had just read about John's death in the Japanese manga came to the autograph session. According to Takahashi, the part in question was not yet published in Finland. John suffered a long and painful death in WEED. However, characteristically, John did not break mentally. Takahashi says the reader was angry that he killed John. - I then asked them if John's death wasn't just the right way for him. They then admitted that that was exactly how John would have wanted to die. Proud to the end. The violence of the Ginga series has attracted attention in Finland since Silver Fang arrived here in 1989 with four VHS parts. The publisher once tried to tone down Takahashi so that the series wouldn't become too much bloody. Takahashi suspects that the publishing house was probably afraid that they would get complaints of violence. Takahashi laughs that the story must have a good action. In the end, he heard no complaints from the publisher. - Readers perceive violence differently when it happens between animals than if the same would happen between people.
Regarding character deaths, Takahashi reveals that when he wrote Silver Fang, he wanted to kill all three of Kai brothers in one go. They were meant to die in the final battle between Ouu's dog army and the monster bear Akakabuto. But the publisher did not agree to this and in the end only the eldest brother Akatora experienced the bloody death. Despite the violence, Takahashi does not want his works to be, like many adult directed series, too attention catching, but there had to be some sort of moral limit. From this the works have been praised. Takahashi remembers meeting a Japanese older woman who had praised Silver Fang and stated that every student should read it.
Takahashi encapsulates the message of Ginga series to themes of justice and love. By love, he means more of companionship and caring. The themes of companionship and loyalty come up often In Takahashi's works. We asked if the history of Japan and bushidou perhaps inspired him. - In my hometown of Higashinaruse, there were stories about samurai and battles. I might have had them in the family, so I guess I have such ideas in the back of my mind. When thinking about the history of his home region, Takahashi remembers a memory from his childhood of the bear carcass he saw. In the countryside of Akita, it was common to display hunted bears for the whole village. One time the hunters had brought down a particularly large bear that was being kept displayed on the platform of a small truck. The sight of this huge beast remained permanently in the little boy's mind.
The nature of Japan's largest island, North Honshu, reminds Takahashi of Finnish nature. The mangaka thinks that the milieu that looks familiar and both cultural encounters with bears are part of the reason why the Ginga series have so many fans in Finland. Finnish readers' devotion to his works has made a great impression on Takahashi. The most ardent fans have even traveled Akita to see Takahashi's hometown. - I am taken and grateful that the Finnish readers have welcomed my manga so well. Thank you very much for your support.
Anime wishes 70-year-old Takahashi a long life and success. Mette Pesonen

A/N: I'm reposting this from my old writing account, @razor-writes, because this is one of my most favorite fics I wrote and published. also credits to @cafekitsune for the dividers 🫶
you knew raiden and kung lao since you were kids and you have been in love with raiden for a few years now, but you never had the chance to confess your feelings for him, you wanted to tell him, but you were afraid that he’d reject you.
—
once the day for the tournament arrived, liu lang opened a portal to outworld made from fire, you stood next to raiden and you looked over at him, he had an amazed expression on his face, his beautiful, charming face.
once liu kang walked through the portal, the earthrealm warriors walked through it as well . you walked down some stairs with the others, looking around and taking in the beauty of outworld. on the other of the path side was a beautiful palace, there were stairs across the path as well with two young women standing on them, they were the princesses of outworld.
“oh my. are those-“ johnny cage spoke, recording the scenery with his phone. “empress sindel’s daughters’, yes.” liu kang replied.
“they do not disappoint.” johnny smirked, you rolled your eyes at his words. “we are earthrealm’s ambassadors, johnny, we’ll show them respect, not unwanted attention.” raiden remarked, showing his respect for the women. as they reached the end of the path, princess mileena spoke to liu kang, “lord liu kang, welcome.” “thank you, princess mileena.” liu kang replied to her welcome.
“you remember my sister?” mileena inquired, turning slightly to the lady in blue, kitana. liu kang smiled and nodded. “of course, princess kitana.” he spoke. kitana bowed her head with her hands behind her back.
liu kang spoke again, “may I introduce johnny cage, kung lao, kenshi takahashi, and earthrealm’s champion…raiden.”
as raiden’s name was mentioned, raiden bowed his head in response to the princesses, his straw hat covering his face.
kitana smirked and spoke to raiden “I hope you’re prepared, raiden.” raiden looked at her with a smile on his face, a smile of…adoration? you noticed his smile and felt a tinge of sadness inside you. you spent most of your time looking at raiden in that moment that you didn’t notice kitana and mileena talking. the umgadi warrior, tanya, also known as the palace gaurd, reminded mileena, “princess, we should be on our way, empress sindel awaits.” mileena looked back at her and responded, “thank you, tanya. follow me, please.” she signaled for the earthrealmers’ to follow her.
—
raiden had won against two of the kombatants for the tournament, li mei and reiko. empress sindel said that the tournament would continue at first light, so both outworld and earthrealm’s warriors had a dinner outside the palace.
you were sitting next to raiden, and johnny cage was sitting by kitana, trying to win her over as usual.
you looked to your side and raiden was looking across the table towards kitana, with the same look and smile of adoration as before.
you felt your stomach turn a bit, and you held your hand against it, and raiden noticed this. “y/n? are you alright?” he asked with a tone of worry in his voice. “yeah, I’m alright, maybe just something i ate.” you lied through your teeth. “i’ll be right back.” you got up from your seat for a moment and left to go for a walk so you could get your mind off of things. raiden looked back and watched you leave, he felt like he did something wrong, but he just didn’t know what.
—
you walked down the mossy stone path surrounded by beautiful trees, still feeling your stomach turn. you suddenly heard footsteps behind you, you turned around immediately, only to see raiden behind you.
you were confused on why he followed you, so you obviously had to ask. “raiden? wha—why’d you follow me?” you asked as your eyebrows furrowed.
he looked at you worriedly “I just wanted to make sure you were alright. you just got up and walked away, I got worried.”
“raiden, I already told you I’m alri-“ without warning, you started to cough rapidly. and to his alarm, you started to cough blood as well as petals. you fell to your knees in pain as you continued coughing.
“y/n?!” raiden’s eyes widened as he witnessed you cough rapidly and fall to your knees. he knelt down quickly in front of you, placing his hands on your shoulders, completely concerned for your well-being.
you continued coughing as flower petals spilled from your lips, raiden grew more and more worried for you. “someone help!” he yelled out for someone at the table. his close friend, kung lao, heard and came running towards raiden’s voice, eyes widening in shock as he saw you knelt to the ground, coughing up flower petals and blood.
“y/n?! what happened?!” kung lao ran over to the both of you and knelt down as well. raiden spoke again, his voice shaky. “I—i don’t know, t—they just started coughing out blood and petals..!”
"get them to safety!" kung lao exclaimed towards raiden to take you, before he could hold you, you fell onto the floor, unconscious.
