things that make life suck a little less (i)

mornings when i wake up after just the right amount of sleep and my bed feels all cozy and warm but not at all tempting.

my boyfriend, who rubs my neck and massages my hands and kisses my head and whispers "i'm here, everything's gonna be okay."

moments when i feel such overwhelming gratitude towards my mom, who almost always fails but tries so hard to show me she loves me.

progressive churches where you don't have to be straight and physically immaculate to feel welcome.

food. specifically mozzarella sticks paired with pesto and some warm milk tea to wash it all down.

when a cat voluntarily walks up to and brushes its body against me.

witnessing/receiving random acts of kindness.

getting a chance to show/do a random act of kindness and not messing it up.

the black cat that welcomes us home every night, even though it doesn't live in our house.

Saint Jerome Seated near a Pollard Willow (Drypoint, 1512)

Albrecht Dürer (German, 1471-1528)

Of the hundreds of prints Albrecht Dürer made, only three were drypoints, in which a needle scratched directly into a copperplate creates velvety, fuzzy lines. In this image of Saint Jerome, Dürer exploited these qualities of drypoint to manifest the natural, spiritual realm of the saint's hermitage in the wilderness. Jerome pauses from his studies to pray in a setting that buzzes with life. The saint's isolation and communion with Christ result in spiritual rebirth, symbolized by the bumpy pollard (trimmed) willow, cut to generate new growth.

I’ve had this account for a couple months and apparently I’ve just gotten around to making an introduction post, so here we go! 

Basic Info: Hi there! My name is Taelor! I’m a 20 year old trans/nonbinary guy and I use they/them or he/him pronouns. I’m currently in college working towards a BFA in animation with an emphasis in creative writing. I’m about to enter my junior year! I’m not exactly sure what I want to do career-wise, but probably something to do with story (ie, storyboarding, screenwriting, concepting, etc).

Why did I create this blog? I just recently discovered the studyblr community and fell in love with it! In fact, it’s something that’s so closely tied to my interests that I’m surprised it took me this long to find it! Some things that drew me to the studyblr community are: my love learning new things, organization, and my “minor” obsession with cute/aesthetic-y stationary. 

Interests: - I love outdoor activities including: camping, canoeing, hiking, kayaking, etc!

- I’ve always loved music, listening to it and playing it. Hopefully I’ll figure out how to write it after I practice playing instruments a lot more! Some of my favorite bands right now are: Fit for Rivals, The Cliks, Royal Blood, together PANGEA, Sleater-Kenny, Spoon, The Pack A.D., The Pretty Reckless, Bring Me the Horizon, and Badflower

- I also like studying and analyzing film! Both as something that helps me with my schoolwork and just because I enjoy it!

- Just for fun! Some of my favorite shows are The X-Files, Twin Peaks, Star Trek, Invader Zim, and We Bare Bears!
