continued from here ft yan wei / @roscvcins
yan wei's mouth opens, though no sounds escape because she's right, even though the mere suggestion of it annoys him somehow. "maybe if someone burns me some money and i'll miraculously get cash in my wallet too." he replies pointedly, mouth pressed into a rather displeased line. no real offense is taken, certainly. it's just the entire ordeal of dealing with all ... this is frustrating. and there really isn't anyone he could turn to for advices.
but thankfully, there's feng jiu around and having someone to talk to keeps him distracted enough at least. reminds him that he's alive and he should feel alive, and all that in between. "aren't foxes supposed to be smart too?" the curious look on his face is one of genuine curiosity, "and you tell me i can't hole up here forever, your plan of playing dead sure sounds like it." totally not because he has zero clues on what options he could possibly consider and if she has any, he may just tag along rather shamelessly. he's silent for a moment after what she said; he seems to be doing that quite a lot nowadays, and a soft exhale of breath leaves him. when he speaks again, his tone is that of a light, joking one. "actually i was wondering if the xiaolongbao restaurant near my home is still open nowadays. the last time i had them before i died, the owner said they were closing." it used to be his favorite, but if a miracle could happen to him, then maybe ...

eyeing the cookies, yan wei hesitates for a moment before picking one up. the action of bringing it close to his mouth for a bite is just as slow, and soon, his hand lowered, clearly no intentions of taking another bite. funny how coming back from the dead means his tastebuds are basically useless now somehow, and he could barely taste anything. not unless they're so heavily spiced or terribly, terribly sweet. "finding something that actually tastes good," he says, as if that's his biggest concern right now. "you need to get better cookies, these taste like sh-- they don't taste like anything."
it's nowhere near how he should be speaking to her, considering he is receiving help from her until he manages to... do something. "so does getting out there. things seem a bit... noisy lately, the last i checked." he isn't an expert in whatever demonic activities that have been happening around, even if his entire being just technically contributes to it -- but on his defense, he hasn't even been around that long. "unless you have something else in mind? what do you plan to do?"
"...So, what ARE you planning to do?" She lifts three of her own cookies from the plate before pushing it across the table - elbows settling on the small table they've set up out on the veranda. Miss Chen's parents have not suspected their daughter to be DIFFERENT - rather, perhaps they want to believe that she is still of this world - but it can't hurt to be too careful to separate conversation with the...undead, from the living. Though the percentage varies, neither of them are exactly MORTAL, after all.
Even if, next to him, somehow SHE'S the normal one. Being in the same vicinity means energy signatures practically pinging every demon hunter in the city - but if they find out, they're more likely to take off after him, and leave her alone.
"You can't hole up here FOREVER."

THE PRINCESS WEI YANG - 178 PART 2
CHAPTER 178: Taigong Fishing
On this side, Princess Yongning couldn't wait to say: "I did what you said. When I returned to Prince Yan's Mansion, he thought it was very strange, but I said that I had forgiven him, and told him that as long as he keeps my position as grand princess, I would turn a blind eye to what he did. In order to win his trust, I gave him two beauties. So, during these days, he thought that I was deliberately trying to please him, and he did whatever he wanted. "
Li Wei Yang smiled. People like Yuan Yu would open a dyeing workshop if you give him three points of color. (t/n: Similar idiom to 'give someone an inch and they take a mile') She said carefully: "Princess, do you know what to do next?"
Princess Yongning clenched her teeth and said, "I will do everything you say."
Li Wei Yang smiled and said: "His Highness Grand Prince Yan did not come to today's banquet. What a pity."
Princess Yongning frowned and said: "What do you mean?" She didn't understand. Li Wei Yang should be very afraid of seeing Yuan Yu. Why would she want to see Yuan Yu? Isn't she afraid that her true identity will be exposed? Princess Yongning was really shocked when she received Li Wei Yang's secret letter. She didn't expect that Li Wei Yang turned into the daughter of the Guo family. This was really incredible.
Li Wei Yang looked at the blooming peonies in the distance, smiling as before: "I heard that His Majesty summoned all the princes for something, but by this time, Grand Prince Yan must have come out of the palace."
The Emperor just summoned them to discuss the flood in the south. In fact, it was just a formality. The edict had already been issued, so Yuan Yu would not stay in the palace for too long. But Princess Yongning doesn't know why Li Wei Yang suddenly mentioned this...
Li Wei Yang has continued: "If the princess immediately sends someone to tell Grand Prince Yan that the famous courtesan Izumo is performing in the Guo Mansion today, will Grand Prince Yan be interested?"
Princess Yongning looked at Li Wei Yang in confusion, obviously unable to react at all.
Li Wei Yang's smile was secretive and gentle: "I heard from my mother that the reason why Izumo is praised as a famous courtesan is because she is both beautiful and talented. Secondly, she is clean and self-conscious, and rarely participates in complicated affairs."
Princess Yongning prided herself on being noble, and of course she looked down upon such famous courtesans. But at this moment, she recalled it and said: "Indeed, Yuan Yu also tried his best to invite this woman, but she was very careful and refused to take the bait. If I send someone to tell him that this woman is also at the banquet, he will definitely come. But why do you want to lure him here? "
Li Wei Yang just moved her eyes slightly and said slowly: "When he comes, the princess will naturally know."
Princess Yongning was convinced of Li Wei Yang's methods, and she immediately sent someone back to inform Yuan Yu that Izumo was also in the Guo Mansion. Sure enough, an hour later, Grand Prince Yan arrived at the Guo family with gifts. The Duke of Qi had always disliked this prince who was handsome in appearance but dirty on the inside. He was especially disdainful about the rumors of him being a womanizer. When he heard that he was coming, he just asked Guo Cheng to arrange a place and left him aside.
Yuan Yu has long known the Guo family's old habit of being prudes. Anyway, Empress Pei and the Guo family have always been at odds with each other, so he doesn't care too much. At this time, he just stared at Izumo, who was sitting aside to rest after performing the dance, with a smile on his lips.
He had wanted to get this woman when he first met her, but unfortunately she was too disrespectful and refused his invitation several times. In the past, he was very tolerant with this kind of woman and wanted to conquer her, but now, he was getting more and more impatient, so he decided to kill this little beauty's arrogance just like he did with that actress.
With a smile on his face, Yongning took the initiative to ask the maid next to her to pass a glass of wine to Yuan Yu.
Yuan Yu glanced at his princess with a smile. If she hadn't been the princess of Dali, he would have kicked her out long ago, so that seeing this old face would not remind him of those very unpleasant memories... Fortunately, now this woman learned her lesson and became more and more tactful. Not only did she take the initiative to give him beauties, she no longer acted jealous. This is what an old woman should do.
Yongning smiled and said: "Your Majesty, let me toast you."
Yuan Yu didn't doubt her. He picked up the wine glass and drank it all in one gulp, saying, "The Guo family's wine is pretty good."
Princess Yongning just lowered her eyes and glanced at the wine in the cup. This medicinal powder was given to her by Li Wei Yang. She didn't know what effect it had.
Not long after, Yongning saw the effect of the medicinal powder, because Yuan Yu could no longer sit still because of the heat. He twisted around in his seat, unable to take into account the dignity of being a prince, and his face, which was more beautiful than a woman's, was stained with a faint blush. He asked the maid next to him to fan him, but it still didn't help. He simply stood up and walked straight towards Izumo. From Yongning's point of view, she didn't know what Yuan Yu said, but he went to pull Izumo's wrist. As a result, Izumo became angry, threw up her sleeves and left.
Yuan Yu actually didn't give up and reached out to pull the person again. Izumo was a tough nut to crack, refusing to respond to him no matter what. Yuan Yu went too far and actually pulled her over and started to kiss her. When other people on the side saw this scene, their expressions turned ugly. His Highness, the majestic Grand Prince Yan, openly flirted with a courtesan and forced when she didn't want to. It was simply too disgraceful!
Yongning sneered. Although Yuan Yu was shameless, he was still sanctimonious on the surface because he was afraid that others would seize his weaknesses and report him to the Emperor. However, she did not expect that he would become so shameless after being drugged. However, was Li Wei Yang deliberately trying to embarrass him? Or is there some other intention?
The sight of Yuan Yu chasing after Izumo was too unbearable. Madam Guo gave him a glance and Guo Cheng and Guo Dun immediately walked up and grabbed Grand Prince Yan, one on the left and the other on the right. Guo Cheng smiled and said: "Your Highness, you're drunk! Someone, help the prince to take a rest!"
Yuan Yu was forcefully held back by the two of them and could only watch Izumo leave. Yuan Yu was very angry, but he knew that this was not a place to lose his temper. Soon, Yongning brought him a glass of warm water and asked him to drink it. Yuan Yu felt that the heat in his heart had gone away a lot, and the evil fire just now had also dissipated. He glanced around, only to find that everyone was looking at him with peculiar expressions. He was a little strange for a moment, what happened to him just now? Could it be that the drink was so powerful that it made him lose his composure in public... He thought of this and glanced at Princess Yongning with suspicion.
However, Princess Yongning said with concern: "My lord, what happened to you just now? You really scared me!"
It couldn't be that Princess Yongning had done anything. This woman was now his princess, so what else could she do? She can only try her best to please him to ensure that she has a good life. When Yuan Yu thought about this, the doubts in his heart disappeared by a third. He stood up and said, "I'm a little drunk. I just need to walk for a bit." At this moment, he suddenly saw a group of people standing not far away. Originally, the group was standing among the peonies, but he was just staring at Izumo without paying attention for a while. Now he saw them clearly, and was shocked.
Li Wei Yang! It turned out to be Li Wei Yang! How can this be! He rubbed his eyes desperately, almost suspecting that he had seen it wrong.
Li Wei Yang and the two sisters from the Han family were together, talking about something before she suddenly started laughing. The smile was very gentle and noble, and her appearance was more mature and beautiful than half a year ago, but Yuan Yu still recognized her at a glance.
Yes, how could he forget this woman! Because of her, he was forced to lose his carefully trained secret guards; because of her, he was thrown to the tricks of those low-class brothel girls; because of her, he was even afraid of women when he saw them for a while... He will never forget this shame in this life!
But how could she appear in Yuexi! Why!
Yuan Yu sat back suddenly. Then, he turned back to look at Princess Yongning and lowered his voice: "Why is she here?!"
Yongning looked at him with a surprised expression: "Who is the prince talking about?!"
Yuan Yu spoke word by word, as if the words were forced out from between his teeth: "Li Wei Yang!" Then, Princess Yongning followed his line of sight and looked over: "Ah! You mean Miss Guo! Yes, she is really similar to Princess Anping. I saw her earlier and was shocked. There are such similar people in this world?!"
"Miss Guo? Guo Jia?" That is obviously Li Wei Yang. He would never forget her. The woman he hates most in his life is Li Wei Yang. Last time Empress Pei's most important stronghold in Dali was destroyed, and he had to behave with his tail between his legs for a long time in front of Empress Pei. All of this was caused by that woman! Now - the young lady found in the Guo Mansion is Li Wei Yang?! Haha, can there be such a coincidence in this world? Yuan Yu didn't believe it at all.
There were sparks in his eyes and he whispered: "Yongning, Li Wei Yang is obviously Li Xiaoran's biological daughter, how could she become the beloved daughter of the Guo family?"
"This -" Yongning seemed a little unsure and hesitated, "My lord, you may have seen it wrong. Some people are similar -"
Where in the world can such similar people come from?! Do you think he, Yuan Yu, is a fool?! Yuan Yu immediately stood up, grabbed his princess, and said to the people around him: "I drank too much and need to sober up. I'm sorry, but excuse me." As he said that, he almost dragged Princess Yongning away from the banquet.
Li Wei Yang saw this scene from a distance, but smiled lightly and didn't take it to heart.
Han Lin saw her expression was different and asked curiously: "Cousin, what's wrong with you?"
Li Wei Yang's smile was like the spring breeze blowing on her face, turning into a budding flower: "I was wondering, why was Grand Prince Yan so rude today?"
Han Qin curled her lips disdainfully and said: "He has always been romantic, but in the past he was still somewhat restrained. I don't know why, but after marrying Princess Yongning, he became even more aggressive. It's really too much!"
Li Wei Yang smiled. Yuan Yu felt angry about being married to an old lady, so naturally he wanted to find a way to vent the anger... It was not surprising that he got worse. However, no matter how much he goes too far, he will never lose his composure in public. Today, she naturally found a way to get Princess Yongning to drug him. With just a little, she could make him excited without anyone noticing...
Yuan Yu used the excuse of being drunk and ordered the servants of the Guo family to find a quiet room, and specifically ordered his guards to block the door. Then he asked breathlessly: "What on earth is going on?! Why is Li Wei Yang in Dadu?!"
Princess Yongning's face showed a little surprise and said: "My lord, you don't even know, how can I know?"
Yuan Yu was very cunning. When he thought of his embarrassing behavior just now, he immediately knew that Li Wei Yang had done something. However, he had never touched the things handed over by the servants of the Guo family. The only possibility was that it was Princess Yongning. In this way, this woman must have already colluded with Li Wei Yang! Yuan Yu immediately thought of Princess Yongning who originally hated him so much. Now she suddenly came back from the nunnery and even tried to please him in every possible way. She even personally gave him two beauties. Such a change was not surprising... He thought of Li Wei Young's various tricks and felt frightened for a moment. She suddenly came to Yuexi, there must be some conspiracy! It seems that Jiang Nan needs to be informed about this matter as soon as possible. No! He must also notify Empress Pei!
He glanced at Princess Yongning, and countless thoughts passed through his mind. Li Wei Yang has a cunning mind and must have colluded with Princess Yongning... If he suddenly leaves to inform on Li Wei Yang, Li Wei Yang will definitely find out and maybe use Yongning to do something! He had to find a way to stabilize Yongning first. A poisonous plan flashed in his mind: Whether it was Empress Pei or himself, if they tried to take action, they would be discovered by the Guo family. However, none of the family members were easy to deal with. If this completely angered them, the losses would not be worth the gain. But to put it another way, the Guo family is so prominent, and Madam Guo has been looking for Miss Guo for many years. If they knew that Li Wei Yang was a fake, they would definitely hate her. When the time comes, they can get rid of Li Wei Yang without getting their hands dirty. Therefore, the top priority was to stabilize Princess Yongning - thinking of this, he sneered in his heart.
As long as Yongning is a woman, he has a way to make her obedient. Yuan Yu has read countless people. When he is hateful, people will feel extremely scared, but when he wants to please a woman, it is also extremely easy. He slowed down and said softly: "Yongning, I know that Li Wei Yang must have visited you in the nunnery, right?"
Yongning frowned and looked at him, but didn't speak for a while.
Yuan Yu sighed and said: "I know this woman has evil thoughts. She must be trying every possible means to sow discord between you and me. Yongning, you are so kind, you must have been persuaded by her to turn against me. Don't you know that she is just using you!"
Princess Yongning had a look of shock on her face and said, "I don't understand what you are talking about!"
Yuan Yu was not discouraged and continued: "You and I are a couple. Although I like to have fun, those women are just playthings and I have never been serious. You are the only one I love most."
When Yongning heard what Yuan Yu said, it was almost exactly the same as what Li Wei Yang said before. When in crisis, he would subconsciously use the same method to deal with women... Li Wei Yang really understands people's hearts. She had even already guessed what Yuan Yuan would say.
When Yuan Yu saw that Yongning was silent, he thought that she had been moved by him, and said quickly: "I was angry with that vicious woman Li Wei Yang before, so I took out my anger on you. Now I know that I was wrong, and I plan to cultivate my moral character from now on, and be on good terms with you. You know what my life has been like. I have been despised by my father now, and you are the only one by my side. If even you don't care about me, what will I do in the future?" As he said this, his eyes seemed to be flashing with tears. If Li Wei Yang had not foreseen his move, Princess Yongning might have believed it.
Unfortunately, not all prodigals will change for women. Most of the time, he will hurt you again. Princess Yongning was extremely angry, but on the surface she simply said: "You...are you telling the truth?"
Seeing that Yongning had taken the bait, Yuan Yu immediately nodded and said: "Of course it is true. A banquet in this world will eventually come to an end, but you and I are a couple for life. Now that Li Wei Yang is approaching you deliberately, she must be planning to use you to harm me. Yongning, you have to help me!"
Princess Yongning looked at him and said quietly: "Then what should I do?"
"Find a suitable opportunity to reveal Li Wei Yang's true identity in front of everyone!" A sneer appeared on Yuan Yu's face. Indeed, humans are similar. If he rashly announced Li Wei Yang's true identity, how many people would believe it? Would a dignified Princess of Dali come here? Li Wei Yang is so eloquent that she might be able to get away with it easily. But what if Princess Yongning testifies against her? Yongning had lived in Dali for so many years and had known Princess Anping for a long time. How could she mistake her friend? Therefore, it is much easier for Princess Yongning to gain the trust of the Guo family and others than for Yuan Yu to speak himself.
Princess Yongning said: "You mean, now?"
Yuan Yu thought for a while and said: "Today's banquet is full of guests, which is the best opportunity! As long as everyone knows that she is Princess Anping of Dali, her farce will be over!" It was much more interesting to see Li Weiyang being exposed in person than to tell Empress Pei!
Princess Yongning looked at the proud smile on Yuan Yu's face and thought to herself, yes, your road has come to an end!

reading about your own life ... or death is as fun as it could get, yan wei thinks, despite all the redacted lines that seem to fill up the pages more and more, especially after his arrest. he leans back slightly, expression unreadable as he rethinks his choice of words. "it’s exaggerated, to say the least — i didn't die because i got hit by a train when i was on the run from them," he says, tone unchanging, "i'll save you the details but it's certainly not faked." a pause, and then, “is there why you're here? to prove that it's faked?" his gaze flicks to her, calm but with an edge, the kind of look that carries too many unspoken thoughts to unpack in a single moment. when she had first appeared on his front door, his first reaction was to deny everything, as usual. there really isn't any reason for him to even entertain her questions, or provide even more that probably would only make her dig deeper for things he isn't sure he wants to share, yet the police report she has brought with her had intrigued him. even if only to see how much more they could pin on a dead man.
"dead man walking, phantom prints, dead bodies ... " yan wei repeats, trailing off as he subconsciously sticks his hands into the pockets of his hoodie—for warmth, of course. they’re always a bit too cold for his liking, much like the rest of his body. "depends on whether you find it more believable that i charmed my way out somehow, or that i came back from the dead." as far as he’s concerned, she could easily be just another serial killer enthusiast, like the ones he’s occasionally stumbled across online. the assumption offers him a strange sense of comfort, enough to make him realize he’s already said more than he normally would to anyone else. after all, no one takes these serial killer fanatics seriously. to him, that means whatever story he spins—even one as outrageous as coming back to life—will stay just that: a story. "but of course, i won't be offended whichever you decide to pick."
✧ 𓂅 @zinhuan asked : “ the reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated . ” to wednesday / various things spoken in an adventuring party pt.2 ( accepting ) .
that wasn't the response she'd been expecting . denying involvement , blaming technological error , or even springing to life a long lost twin had been on her list of excuse she thought yan wei would give . she was a little disappointed he hadn't used one of her anticipated lines . she'd come with proof to debunk each one in her small portrait backpack . it was always annoying when things didn't go how she expected them to . she hated being wrong . “ is exaggerated your rather irritating way of saying faked . ” it was less of a question and more of a statement . wednesday snatched the stolen police file from his hands and held it in her own . her hands crossing over one another in front of her as the manilla folder , providing her with more questions rather than answers , hung between them . “ because that's the only way your phantom prints showing up on each dead body makes sense . but then there's the question of how you got the coroner , correctional officers , and potential other police intel in on it . which is something i just don't see happening . no offense , but you're no light yagami . i couldn't see you charming your way out of a snake pit let alone a jail cell . ” there were more questions burning on her tongue ; like if the point of him getting out was to continue killing , why switch up his modus operandi ? weren't serial killers married to that kind of thing ? did he have an identity crisis ? none of it made any sense and wednesday intended to stare him down until it did . “ well ? get the cat off your tongue before i cut it off . ” it would make the whole ‘ getting answers ’ thing a little more difficult but not impossible . he could still write , afterall .

"The notes were so ethereal and clear, as though a cold chilly wind had passed through a pine forest 泠泠的松风寒意" Lan Wangji's first appearance in Chapter 5 (Listening to the Zither/Qin 听弹琴 by Liu Changqing 刘长卿)
I’m not sure if anyone remembers this but MXTX uses poetry to describe the vibe when Lan Wangji plays his zither. This is also a rehash of an old Taming Wangxian footnote XD
When Lan Wangji first appears in Chapter 5, MXTX describes the way he plays his zither as such,
“The Mo family of three was about to be defeated. Wei Wuxian was about to whistle, when two notes from a zither sounded from a distance away.
The two notes appeared to have been casually played; they were so ethereal and clear, as though a cold chilly wind had passed through a pine forest 泠泠的松风寒意 (T/N: In Taming Wangxian, we used “a sense of melancholy to capture the meaning of the phrase)”. Even the dueling beasts froze.”
This line comes from the Tang dynasty poem Listening to the Zither 听弹琴 by Liu Changqing 刘长卿. The first two lines are about the beauty of the qin And the author laments in the last two lines about how the world does not appreciate such elegant music.
“泠泠七弦上,静听松风寒。
The sounds from the seven-stringed instrument are cool and refreshing; the tune is melodious, but the notes are somber, like the cold wind blowing through a pine tree
T/N: The poet also references the guqin song 风入松 “Wind in the Pine”. I’ve also highlighted the parts that appear in MDZS.
古调虽自爱,今人多不弹。
As much as I like this tune from the past, there are few who would play it nowadays.
T/N: During the period when the poem was written, the Tang Dynasty was influenced by its neighbouring countries and the "Yan 燕" music had become popular. Hence, the Pipa was becoming more popular and the Qin was falling out of favour. The poet's lamenting the changing of the times, and how the people are favouring something more fashionable, instead of what is elegant and noble. (the Qin was an instrument played by the nobles and well educated)

9 Fandom Peeps to Get to Know Better
tagged by the ever-wonderful @lucientelrunya (thank you!!!!)
3 ships you like: right now nanqiu are drilling holes into my mind, but my other two would be pingpangxie and yan wei/xu youyi (i have less than zero idea what their shipname is rip)
First ship ever: i know i've probably said something else on a different one of these but the one that comes to mind is sandfire (i didn't know what gay people were at that age)
Last song you heard: training season because of this fabulous nanqiu amv
Favourite childhood book: the his dark materials trilogy and the inheritance cycle. i attribute much of my writing skill to how much those two series fucked my poor little baby mind up and reordered everything within it
Currently reading: disorder under heaven: collective violence in the ming dynasty and kaleidoscope of death as well. disorder under heaven i picked up thinking it was about violence AGAINST the collective, not BY the collective, so while it's still interesting, it isn't giving me the information i want regarding state punishment of the citizenry. kod i am reading very, very slowly because i want to finish it so i can write all the fic but i keep only reading it late at night and then i fall asleep like one or two chapters in. oh, wait, i just checked my libby app—i'm also reading she who became the sun which i've wanted to read for a while and hadn't realised was set during the yuan dynasty era? which makes me extra excited about it.
Currently watching: zmyx/the spirealm and very slowly making my way through jue ze/stand by me (i was supposed to be done with it by now :') but unfortunately some real life shit happened)
Currently consuming: banana!
Currently craving: i want roasted chestnuts and roasted yams so bad T^T
tagging....... @mispronouncing-michaelangelo @loverboygf @thatswhatsushesaid @hilsoncrater @missanthropicprinciple and anyone else who wants to play!

Just wanted your thoughts on this.
Meeting One's Match - A Yan!Ganon x Sheikah Fem!OC fic idea.
Not a request, just wanna hear your thoughts & critique.
We love a bad bitch! More under cut since this got pretty long-
I'm not really an OC blog but I do love making and seeing others OCs. I think you have all of your ducks in a line with her.
I think this part: "She's also very hands-on & has a philosophy of 'why ask someone to do something that you can do yourself, but the right way?'" would strike the most friction between her and Ganondorf. I could be misinterpreting this but it sounds like Nemma would be the type to go off and do her own thing. Like while everyone is around planning the best way to go forward she would just go ahead and do it her own way. While this may be be the most efficient way to do things, I feel like there will be this need for control with Ganon as well as a "what if something happened to her?" in the back of his mind. I feel like he'd see her as not only his wife but also his strongest warrior so losing her would be not only emotionally crappy but also tactically crappy as well. This coupled with her backstory sounds like Nemma doesn't like to rely on people and might be prone to trying to take on everything and everyone on her own. Maybe part of her character arc could be learning how to work in a group?
It also sounds like Nemma might be slightly inspired by Miyamoto Musashi (thank you Puppet History). If not I think it'd be really helpful for you to look into him.
As for her design, I think you should maybe add a hat if she travels often. She can still have a top knot with her daggers if her hat has a hole at the top for it. I'm a sucker for historical fashion so I think you should do research on what time period(s) Sheikah dress is inspired by in TOTK and go from there. I would also recommend thinking about what kind of lifestyle she lives when designing her. However, don't think too hard because honestly making OCs is about having fun!
I don't really know too much about weaponry and it seems like you put a lot of thought into Nemma's weapon. This is not a critique on your weapon choice personally, but I kind of roll my eyes a bit when I see a katana. Again! YOU PROVIDE EXCELLENT REASONING FOR HER CHOICE OF WEAPON AND THIS ISN"T A DISS ON YOU! Maybe you could look into other types of Japanese weaponry for Nemma just a way to explore some options? Or don't if you really want her to have a sword! Everybody has their own attachments to weapons and fighting styles (polearms and crossbows my beloveds). There are also other Japanese style swords you could look into if you want! I'd keep in mind her lifestyle and which would be more practical for her to have. If she is traveling alone it might be more practical for her to have a one handed weapon and a shield since a two handed weapon would leave her open to attacks. I know more about European medieval junk than Japanese military history so idk? I also tend to look to a lot of history when creating OCs since humans have had very common ideas and have been in similar situations since forever. I also only bring up Japanese history because that's what I'm assuming the Sheikah people are inspired by seeing that Nintendo is a Japanese company. I could be wrong since pretty much all of my art history knowledge and fashion history knowledge is based on Europe.
The story sounds interesting and I'd love to read it! Reading through it and before getting to the end I was thinking "oh this is not going to be a healthy relationship." I think that Ganon would want Nemma primarily for her strength and abilities over her as a person. I think Ganon's character arc within the story could be him getting out of his war mentality, or Demon King mentality like you said, and seeing Nemma as a person and not as a weapon. While I see Nemma's character arc being her finally being able to let loose so to say. Being able to rely on another person and not have to carry the weight of the world all on your own.
You mentioned a size kink so I only bring this up because I assume there's going to be some NSFW details in the story. I see sparring being a sort of foreplay for these two. Maybe a wrestling kink? I also get some vibes of Ganon being willing to let Nemma dom him. I also just love seeing a big scary man get dommed by his wife.
Also don't worry about your art style not matching the universe you're trying to fit your OC into. You're not story boarding for a company so just have fun! Unless you want to experiment with different styles then go ham!
All in all, thank you for choosing me to critique your work! You've put so much thought into this it's pretty amazing! ahsdjgsdfgsdjfgdhf I just write about peepees and boobies so I feel really honored that you'd ask me to do this. And while I don't post my own art on here nor do I post my own OCs, character design and development is something I go feral over. xoxoxo

Hello since I saw you were rating wish list for DW hope its oke for me to share mine and ask for your thoughts thanks a lot and feel free to ask me my reasoning for them.
Wei: Cao Hong, Cao Zhen (two very important commanders for cao cao), Zhang Xiu (another top cao commander would also help flesh out Jia xu as they were very close historically), Zhong Yao (Zhong Huis dad a very early supporter of cao cao eventually became a top minister extremely interesting guy)
For Wu:
Zhuge Jin, Zhuge Ke ( I don’t think I need to justify it lol), He Qi (very important and skilled general who really helped Sun Quan hold his southern territories also his dw blast design makes him look like wu’s version of Zhang He which i like), Zhang Zhao (was pretty much Sun Quans father figure and closest minister)
Shu (my favorite):
Honestly many, I would even consider removing some of the fictional characters because out of those the only one i like and feel contributes anything to the story is Guan Suo. Anyways
Liao Hua (do I even need to say why lol), Wang Ping (Top general was able to overcome a learning disability and rise to the top), Fei Yi (would really help add an interesting dynamic to Jiang Wei), Zhang Yi or Ma Zhong (either would help fill out with another disciplined warrior) maybe Zhuge Zhan but he comes in quite late.
My least favorite sorry Jin:
Another Sima (so many talented Sima’s lol) my personal choice would be Sima Yi’s brother, Sima Fu (very important minister I think he became imperial chancellor but more loyal to Wei than jin could provide some nice tension with his relatives)
Yang Hu (very important Jin figure although most of his achievements came late in the period, really this is my major beef with Jin) or maybe Hu Lie for similar reasons.
Other:
One of the Yuan Brothers either Shang or Tan would add a nice bit of drama and excitement to Cao Cao’s northern conquest
Liu Biao (super important figure of the period involved with nearly every important faction and character)
Han Sui (really interesting warlord and had a long life) if they decide to go the novel route a one handed moveset would be interesting as well
One of the bandit factions leaders; i like what total war did with the bandit Zhang yan and the bandit queen. It be cool if koei could try something similar good suggestions imo would be Zhang Yan, Yang Feng, or Zang Ba
Cao Hong was very important and might be a good foil for some of the established members of the family, presenting a new dimension to their interactions. Cao Zhen is also hugely important and could be a great foil for Cao Pi and Cao Xiu; showing how important he was also makes it easier for people to understand why his son was given so much authority after Cao Rui's death. Zhong Yao is one of the most important people of the era and while the Wei faction is pretty heavy with tacticians at this point, there's always room for someone of his accomplishments. Zhang Xiu is certainly one of the people I'd love to see. Great for Jia Xu as a character and he can add some muscle to some battles that are otherwise pretty lacking in significant enemies.
Zhuge Jin and Zhuge Ke don't need to be justified, you're absolutely right. That's all pretty obvious. He Qi is pretty significant (arguably one of the most significant people of the era since his efforts to settle the Han population in southern China and bring the region under Han control had long-lasting effects) and pretty unique. I wouldn't be upset about that. Zhang Zhao also goes without saying. He has every quality I'd look for in a new character; long career, close personal relationships to characters who need them, many historical accomplishments, unique personality, etc.
Liao Hua is a pretty common choice. He has longevity on his side (always good but especially for that faction since so many major people all died around the same time) and enough accomplishments to his credit to justify it. Yi is, of course, one of my favorites. It'd be great to have him to represent the leadership between Zhuge Liang and Jiang Wei and their different styles, and his assassination is a huge narrative beat that can really set up Shu's final act. Wang Ping and Ma Zhong were commanders whose accomplishments alone justify their inclusion, in addition to their unique personality traits and history. Zhuge Zhan has potential to be a very intersting character, although I doubt they'd have the guts to go all out with it and have him be part of the court's corruption. Zhang Yi (Junsi) would be an unexpected choice but not totally useless. For Zhang Yi (Bogong), I'd say the same things I said about Liao Hua. And for Zhang Yi (Boqi; often called Zhang Ni), the same as Wang Ping and Ma Zhong.
There are alot of Sima family members who would be decend additions. I think Sima Fu is one of the best, since he was perhaps the most important and had such a lengthy career; he could also really bring out some aspects of his relatives we don't currently see. I think Yang Hu is highly overrated; Hu Lie is pretty great though. He and his brother Hu Fen, along with their father Hu Zun, are all good choices IMO.
The Yuan family could always use a bit more meat to it; I think which members are most useful to have depends on how you choose to expand their tale. I do think Yuan Tan is particularly important, though, given his achievements under his father.
Liu Biao needs no justification. Han Sui is an interesting choice but one that I like.
I can see the merit in including someone to represent one of the major bandit factions of the time, though I'm not sure exactly who I'd cuse. Of the ones you listed, probably Zang Ba since he has much more going on than the others.

They all ganged up to kill a single man and the weak people he was protecting, and yet made a shocked Pikachu face when that same man fought back to defend himself and killed some of their own? How dare he just not lie back and let them kill him peacefully? That's what they truly had a grudge about. WWX didn't kill them due to revenge, he fought back to protect himself against the thousands ganging up to kill him.
It was revenge and no defence. The murder of the Wens already happened. Furthermore Wei Ying killed people that were if ever merely superficially involved while the real culprits, and above all Jin Guanshan survived perfectly fine. Wei Ying lashing out gave them the perfect justification for killing him, since he was a danger to anybody else.
Above else...I doubt that the author intended for us to perceive Wei Ying´s action as justified here...It is not a conicidence that one of his most beloved people, his sister Yan Li was killed by Wei Ying here. Yan li´s murder is an example for the horrifying acts Wei Ying committed. If you perceive this victims not just as soulless npcs but as people who were the sons and daughters, the mothers and fathers of other people who were just as horribly hurt as Jin Ling, then you cannot think so easily that this actions of Wei Ying were justified.
As for XL, when did he treat them inhumanely again? That is not the point of the story. They were his servants when he was a prince, yes but he always treated them well.
Well, that is the reason why they treated him not as a person, but the Crownprince. Xie Lian has never seen them as people either, but merely his servants whose wishes didn´t matter so much as his own. He always was the boss, even after the fall of Xianle and that could not continue as he had already lost his position.
That's not what I'm saying. There's a difference in between being worried and being unreasonably overprotective, and then there's thinking you can't make decisions for yourself because you're naive, and that's what FX and MQ think and act like. When did their constant bickering ever benefit XL?
From the perspective of MQ and FX Hua Cheng was a dangerous and evil being that had hurt them in the past, so I fully understand their worry. As Xie Lian had unfortunately demonstrated to them that his decision had been not very wise. From their point of view their former master had fallen twice due to his bad past decisions.
Also, Xie Lian made them his servants and it was also on him to lead them. MQ is MQ and FX is FX. There are not greatly compatible and XL could have chosen different people or tried harder to resolve their disputes, but he merely either distracted them or did not react at all. That is poor leadership here.
Neither MQ nor FX are mere npcs that just exist for Xie Lian´s sake.
When was he a nuisance to them?
Due to his own bad decisions he landed himself and others in misery. The first fall of Xie Lian as a god, was partly his own fault. Furthermore he did not really try hard to get out of it. MQ had to work twice as much as the other two before he left. He had all the housework, cared for Xie Lia´s parents and had to work physically with the other two. FX was trying to earn as much as possible alone and Xie Lian did so much shit during that time. I know that this was one of his lows, but still he was a real nuisance to the other two.
True, he's not a saint but I don't think you understand. That's why he's morally ideal. The fact that he was pushed to the absolute brink, and was able to bring himself back from that precipice, the fact that he had better reason than anyone else in the novel to just go berserk and slaughter a whole city, but chose not to because of the kindness of a single man, and even offers his own body to absorb the negative backlash, despite his insane trauma from the sword stabbing.
I agree that Xie Lian developed his own sense of morality that surely has benefitted many people, yet he hurt himself in the present. I do think that Xie Lian could have not continued much longer like this. Therefore I cannot see him as "morally ideal" in the sense that it was not an ideal situation for the person who continued to hurt himself.
I also would say that Xie Lian was not the poorest person that has ever lived on this plant. There are really people who were much more miserable than him.
Really tired of constantly seeing posts declaring that everyone in MXTX novels is complicated and 'morally grey' and that's what makes her works wonderfully written, and that everyone else who doesn't see that is stupid, or is 'demonising' characters and bashing them for rightfully criticising their shitty, very much unjustified actions.
And ironically it seems so simplistic to just declare that, because yes her stories are wonderfully written and complex, but not for that reason. You're clearly not reading her works and only spouting what you think her stories say. There are many morally grey characters in morally complex stories out there, but MDZS IS NOT ONE OF THEM.
NONE OF THE MAIN CHARACTERS (i.e protagonists and their male leads except for LBH maybe) ARE MORALLY GREY OR MORALLY COMPLEX.
THEY ARE ALL MORALLY RIGHTEOUS.
Just take a closer look at their actions compared to the actions of literally everyone else around them, it's not that hard to see.
Not to mention that MXTX herself literally says that WWX and LWJ are both morally ideal and that ahe hopes her readers can be like them, but people seem to have no respect for the word of authors in the name of their self projection onto the characters being contradicted nowadays 😒
(also saw someone dismissively say that HC may think that the world revolves around XL or whatever, but others don't and they're right??
First of all, did you even read the novel? HC made his judgement based on how others treated him versus how XL did when he was a CHILD. And how XL continues to treat others to this day. He is well within his rights to think the world of XL, especially since XL suffered more than every other person and still doesn't succumb to evil, despite having every right to do so, miles more than others. He all but regards XL as his moral compass, because he's proof that truly good people do exist in this world, and not ONE other person in the novel is shown to be as good as him.)
One of the reasons why I really don't like the Xianle Trio is this; neither FX nor MQ seem to regard XL as his own person with his own agency, who is capable of making his own decisions initially as HC does, and only near the end of the novel do they let up a bit when their asses had to be saved by XL multiple times. (especially considering what fools they made of themselves in that spiderweb cave lmao)
Both of them try to enforce XL ALL THE TIME ("Your Highness don't do this or don't do that or don't say this or don't go there or don't talk to him"), as if XL has not survived perfectly well on his own without them FOR 800 YEARS.
The difference between them and HC is clearly spelled out when FC asks HC about why he is not stopping XL, and HC replies that while he may not agree with some of XL's decisions, he would never force him to do what he thinks is correct, something both MQ and FX are CONSTANTLY shown to try to do.
Like please. Xianle Trio who? More like suffering XL and his pair of nuisances who think themselves to be his babysitters. And most of the time he's the one babysitting them.
Another thing that irks me is that their frequent arguments are often played off for laughs, but XL is truly a saint, because if my friends were constantly bickering over petty things all throughout our dangerous journey and giving me nothing but headaches, especially in survival situations, I'd given them the boot a long time ago.
