The Forgotten Witch
Let me tell you the tale of the Forgotten Witch.
Chapter 1: The Prophecy
First of all, do you know Sylvia Pembroke? She is a seer in one of the portraits in the Grand Staircase.
Throughout the game she makes different prophecies that foreshadow events in the game:
"Ancient secrets bring forth an age of magic with the rise of a new hero."
This one is about the whole plot of the game.
"I can sense someone close to you needs your help. Someone with the initial "S"."
That one is obviously about Sebastian.
"When what was lost has been found, the brother's betrayal will turn the tides of war."
That's when Lodgok finds the last of Bragbor's journal and tries to bring it to the MC. Ranrok discovers that he betrayed him, takes the journal and kills him. And by getting hold of the last journal this turns the tides of the war since Ranrok now knows where to find the last repository.
"When mentor and student collide a path must be chosen."
I think that one is about the final choice of the player, whether we follow the path of the Keepers and keep the repository closed and secret or we follow Isidora's path and try to use the ancient magic in the repository.
I think all of her prophecies can be explained by event in the game. And then there is this prophecy:
"When the forgotten one's true power is revealed bonds of trust will be broken."
And for this one, I couldn't think of a straighforward, obvious interpretation for it. And trying to find out who exactly this "forgotten one" is has lead me down quite the rabbit hole...
Now, the first thought is: the forgotten one must be Isidora. After all, all mentions and memories of her have been erased by the Keepers. What is her "true power" then? It could be her ability to rid people of their pain. And what about the bonds of trust that are broken? That's where it all starts to break down. The MC learns of Isidora's "true power" through the Keepers memories, there is no big revelation about Isidora that causes MC to loose trust in the Keepers or Fig or anyone else, really.
Someone on reddit had another interpretation. They believed the "bonds of trust" that were broken were between Rookwood and Ranrok. When Rookwood discovered what the repositories they were looking for really were (Isidora's "true power") and what Ranrok intended to use them for the fragile alliance between Rookwood and Ranrok shattered ("broken bonds of trust"). But rewatching the scene in the mine when Ranrok takes bragbor's last journal I think it's pretty clear that Rookwood realizes that his alliance with Ranrok is over the moment he understands that Ranrok has now found the location of the last repository. He realizes then that he has lost all of his usefullness to Ranrok and that the tentative partnership they had is over. Hence why he tries to kill Ranrok right after (before Ranrok can try to kill him). I don't think any "bonds of trust" are broken here because there was no trust to begin with and there is no revelation of a "true power". Rookwood already knew they were searching for repositories of ancient magic.
But thinking along the same lines, maybe the broken bonds of trust could be between Sebastian and MC when Sebastian realizes that Isidora could use ancient magic to cure people of their pain (the "true power" that is revealed) and yet MC refuses to ask the Keepers about that power or refuses to use it to cure Anne. But I think that is stretching it. Even though MC and Sebastian have a little fight about this I hardly think that you could say that "bonds of trust" are broken.
So maybe we should go right back to the beguining. Maybe the "forgotten one" is not Isidora but someone else entirely...
Chapter 2: The Statue
How do you go about discovering the identity of someone who was forgotten? You go search through the game files for clues of course!
And low and behold, there is an asset called "ForgottenStatue", could it be related to our "forgotten one"?
I think the name of this particular asset is quite significant. Usually any asset in the game is identified with a letter. There are plenty of assets called "SmallStatue_A", "SmallStatue_B", "WallPlaque_D", etc. Few assets are given actual names like this.
And besides, don't you recognize this statue? It's the statue that is standing in the alcove by the water in the transfiguration courtyard!
It's the statue that Prof. Ronen had us repair at the very beguining of the game after learning reparo. Prof. Ronen says this statue alledgedly represents heartbreak and that perhaps a jilted lover, seing it and finding it too accurate, could have lashed out and destroyed it. But maybe that is not the full story. Maybe there is another reason it was destroyed, perhaps so that no one could ever recognize this statue and find anything out about the witch it represents.
So here we have a statue of a forgotten witch. No one really knows for sure who she is, what the statue represents. Looking at the clothing that she is wearing, it seems that she is from really ancient times (could be ancient greece, could be ancient rome,...) and alledgedly she had her heart broken at some point.
Chapter 3: The Dagger
The statue is not the only thing I found in the game files. There is also a very interesting asset called "SM_Evil_ForgottenWitch_Dagger". Again, note how this asset has an actual name (as opposed to just "SM_Dagger_A") and also that it is even labelled as "Evil".
Sorry for the image being so dark but I really wanted to show how the rune on the dagger is glowing. From what I can understand by looking at other in-game assets, the glow we see on the rune means there will be some VFX applied to it in game. So obviously, the rune etched into the dagger is significant somehow. The dagger is also very ornate. And, because it is labelled as "Evil", we can deduce that it is some king of artifact used for dark magic.
The gives us some new information about our "forgotten one". First of all it seems that she is a witch (that is also consistent with the "Forgotten Statue" that is of a woman) and she practised the dark arts. Could this be what her "true power" is? Some secret form of dark magic?
For the longest time I thought that this dagger was just part of some cut content, that it was not used in the game. Until someone found this exact dagger in a the middle of a standing stone circle near Marunweem Lake!
They also identified the rune on it as Mannaz rune. It's an Elder Futhark rune meaning 'mankind'. Elder Furthar dates back to the first century which is coherent with the type of dress of the forgotten statue. These runes also apparently had deep spiritual significance. Mannaz represents humanity, community and cooperation. It could also represent intelligence, mind and memory.
I went and found the dagger in-game myself.
It's in the middle of standing stones on a flat circluar stone engraved with some weird symbols reminiscent of alchemy symbols. Also note the human skeleton that could hint at some dark ritual maybe involving a sacrifice.
I don't know if there are other places like this one elsewhere in Hogwarts Valley where we can also find the dagger. I have not found any yet but let me know if you have!
But there's more! In the game files, the asset for the dagger is found within the folder of props for "Sanctum_Dungeons". These are any dungeons related to ancient magic (like the keeper trials). So, how exactly is this dagger related to ancient magic and the Keepers?
Chapter 4: Ancient Magic
There is yet another place where the "ForgottenWitch" appreas within the game files. There are assets for stone columns used to build the environments for the ancient magic dungeons which are the Keeper trials, the place below the restricted section when we find the book and the cave we go to with Richard Jackdaw to find the missing pages and get access to the Map Chamber.
First there is a set of assets called "SM_SanctumDun_Column_Natural" which look like stone swirls.
Then there is a set of assets called "SM_SanctumDun_ColumnFlair_Forgotten_Witch" which look a little more ornate with some developped "spikes" (sort of looking like thorns on the stem of a rose) but still made of stone.
And lastly, there is a set of assets called "SM_SanctumDun_ColumnFlair_Keepers" that are even more ornate and detailed with spikes and some sort of tendrils. These columns also glow (again I believe indicating some VFX being applied to it). There are also some gold trims that can be added.
To me, this looks like some kind of evolution of art style or archetictural style over time. As the technique is developped over the centuries (from 'Natural stone' to the work of the Forgotten Witch in antiquity and to the work of the Keepers in the late middle ages), more and more ornate designs are made possible.
I believe the "Forgotten Witch" could wield ancient magic. Like we see the Keepers do, she used ancient magic back in antiquity to transfigure the world around her, build elaborate colums. But then she also used her ancient magic for some dark purpose. This is the "true power" that the profecy refers to. What about the bonds of trust that are broken, then? I believe the events of this particular prophecy have not happened yet. Someone (and lets be honest, it's probably the Keepers because they are the only ones who seem to know anything about ancient magic) knows about this Forgotten Witch and the dark magic she used but they kept that secret from the MC. And when this secret is finally revealed, uncovering a dark history of ancient magic, the bonds of trust between MC and the Keepers will be broken.
After all, Isidora herself, another forgotten witch, could have left us a warning when she wrote on the wall of the Undercroft: "Percival is hiding somehing".

MORE GIFs about Sebastian ! I will never get tired of this.
Recently I did an edit on Sebastian with the song LET THE WORLD BURN by Chris Grey, and I think it suits him quite well. Sebastian would REALLY be ready to burn the whole world for the people he loves (whether for romantic purposes, or to save Anne for example).
Besides (I don't know if this is also the case in the english version of the game, because I play it in french) but have you noticed that if we pay close attention to the words spoken by the painting of a seer (Sylvia Pembroke) when we cross the Grand Staircase, we can hear her talking about Sebastian several times, right from the start of the game ? She warns us about the tragic fate that awaits Sebastian and his sister (so far I have heard her say three different sentences about him). She never pronounces his name clearly; but once we have played the game and we know what is going to happen in Sebastian's life, if we start a new game, we quickly understand that she was talking about him from the start.
I translated from French to English two sentences she says which concern Sebastian (so it's probably not exactly the same words in the English version) :
- French : ' Je sens que quelqu'un qui est proche de vous a besoin d'aide. Son nom commence par la lettre "S". ' - English : ' I feel that someone close to you needs help. Its name begins with the letter "S". '
- French : ' Lorsque le véritable pouvoir de l'oublié sera révélé, les liens de la confiance seront brisés. ' - English : ' When the true power of the forgotten is revealed, the bonds of trust will be broken. ' (here, the "forgotten" refers to Sebastian)
You can also find some GIFs of Hogwarts Legacy in my fanfiction We had it all, available on Wattpad in English and in French (Nous avions tout).

Discouraged at home, Charity, like her brothers, sought out friendships in which to express her emerging sense of self. During her teens, she found a twin soul in a young woman named Mercy Ford who came from the nearby town of Pembroke. The girls shared an interest in literature, especially the verses of Edward Young, author of the ten-thousand-line Night Thoughts, a gothic poem about youth. [...] Young's themes of mortality and loss resonated with Charity's experiences. Charity found solace from her family troubles in reading poetry with Mercy, but as for her older brother Daniel, friendship also became a source of trouble. When Charity turned twenty in 1797, and showed more interest in pursuing her friendship with Mercy than in marrying like her sisters had done, her situation at home became even more difficult. Charity's father, Philip, who had offered his daughter a modicum of protection from her stepmother's cruelty, grew disapproving. [...] As Charity came of age and developed into a different sort of woman, her father withdrew his support for her. Shortly after her twentieth birthday, Philip demanded that Charity leave the family home. [...] Her father's rejection led her to "almost meet despair", but she did not succumb. Instead, she packed her bags and set off to find refuge in [her sister] Anna's home. Over the following decade, Charity's resolute determination to be true to her own desires caused challenges far beyond her family circles.

Alitia Explanation Post
I said I would do this for my other stories, and I’m finally getting around to it. We’re starting off with one of my newer stories, Alitia, which will actually be finishing its first book in two weeks.
What is Alitia?
Alitia is an original fantasy adventure story. It draws inspiration from magical girl content (most notably Winx Club) to create something new. Alitia may be a magical girl story, but don’t let that fool you. This story is aimed at teenagers and young adults above all else. The characters were made by yours truly and four of my friends.
What’s the story about?
Alitia follows the adventures of Luce, a teenaged mercenary who grew up living as a leath, or being without magic. However, Luce goes on a mission with her father, and her magic shows itself in an explosive way. A researcher drags Luce to the exclusive Alitia Academy for Enchantresses, a school for mages, to learn about her magic. There, Luce meets seven other girls her age and is dragged into a fight between two bloodlines that spans five hundred years. Luce and her friends are forced to combat the evil Possession Master, a man with the power to possess people and force them to do his bidding, while still learning how to use their budding magic.
Who are the characters?
The cast of minor characters is rather large, but I’ll be going over the eight main characters here.
Luce Elenes is a mercenary who lived as a leath all her life. She is hired by Sylvia to defeat the Possession Master, which is when her powers show themselves. Luce has dominion over light, but she is struggling to master it. She’s blunt and honest, not outwardly showing much emotion. She’s a talented fighter who wants to understand the truth behind her past, making her curiosity endless.
Iris Pembroke is a knight with power over metal. She fights with a rapier and is experienced in battle. She’s somewhat awkward, not the best at talking to people at first. Iris does have a good heart and wants to make new friends. She’s gullible at times and seems to struggle to notice when people have bad intentions unless it is outwardly spoken. She’s close friends with her home’s princess, Anneliese.
Sophia Greeves is a princess from a land of plants. She can control greenery and nature. Sophia is soft-spoken and shy, a natural introvert. Even if she’s quiet, she holds no ill will towards most others. She dislikes talking about her past, instead choosing to focus on the present. Sophia hates fighting as well but is willing to do so to defeat the Possession Master and save her newfound friends.
Sylvia Loveknot is a sleepy princess attending Alitia to learn how to control her magic over energy. She struggles to stay awake most of the time, and no matter how long she sleeps, she can never seem to gain the energy to keep herself conscious. Sylvia isn’t the best at making new friends after a life of seclusion. She seems to have an unknown connection the Possession Master and his lackeys.
Sana “S.M. Maestre is disowned nobility from a planet that hates leaths. Since S.M. has some leath blood in her, she was abandoned the year before she set out for Alitia. She can control geothermal conditions, giving her power over earth and fire from there. S.M. is unsociable and blunt, but once she starts to care about someone, she will do everything she can to defend them from harm.
Helena Palpatine is the older princess of Etruna, the land of fire and ice. She can control fire, but she doesn’t have much of a fierce personality. Helena is a quiet rebel who longs for attention above all else, though she doesn’t get it often. She’s somewhat awkward and struggles to make friends, relying greatly on Carys. Helena is incredibly loyal and loves her companions above all else.
Carys Palpatine is the younger princess and heir of Etruna. Since Carys was born with stronger magic than Helena, she was set to rule next. She was spoiled from a young age by their parents, causing them to neglect Helena. Even if she has an attitude, Carys is the only one in her family to legitimately care for Helena, and she goes out of her way to include her lonely sister even at Alitia.
Tanith Satim is an amnesiac who was taken in by the headmistress of Alitia. Everything from more than five years ago is unknown to her despite her photographic memory. Tanith can control air magic, but she seems to lose control of herself when it’s in use. She’s somewhat reclusive, not seeming to trust most people at first. She’s the brains of the group, coming up with strategies out of seemingly nowhere.
The minor characters can be heard from in the book itself (as if I described every significant minor character, this list would more than triple in length).
How is it written?
Alitia is written as a prose story in the third person. When Luce is around, it tends to focus on her perspective since the reader is exploring the world through her eyes. When another major character is present but Luce isn’t, it will narrow in on one of them. If only minor characters are seen, the story doesn’t focus on anyone and remains vague. There will be fifty chapters when the story is completed, each 5,000 words in length.
When is it updated?
Alitia is updated weekly on Tuesday. The series will be on hiatus during January and February of 2020 after the completion of the first book, but it will be continuing again the second week of March with updates on Tuesday for the sequel.
What are the books called?
The first book is called ‘Welcome to Millennia’. The second book has not yet been released, but it will be debuting on March 9, 2020, under the name ‘Crown of Ash’.
Where can I find it?
The series is posted on Wattpad, Fiction Press, and Archive of Our Own. If you would like announcements when the story is updated, I post announcements on my discord to show that the newest chapter has been released.
If you think this story is something you would enjoy, I encourage you to check it out, especially if you enjoy other magical girl media. I’ll be dumping out quite a bit of information here on Tumblr about the universe, so you can catch yourself up on the story before reading my information dumps if you would like. I’ll be tagging Alitia content with a tag for it to make it easy to find. Feel free to ask questions about it as well, and I’ll get to them as soon as I can!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this formal introduction to Alitia! I have three stories left now. The other explanations will be going up under the tag ‘digital’s story explanations’ if you want to find the others later on! Alternative is already on there! Thank you for reading this far if you’re still here! I really do appreciate it!

Savage siding services
Welcome to Exteriors Plus MN, We are the best savage commercial roofing contractor that provides the savage steel siding service. We are a savage specialist for roofing, siding and window services.
One of the most important poets of the post-war period, Edward James Hughes (1930-1998), was drawn towards the primitive. He was enchanted by the beauty of the natural world, frequently portraying its cruel and savage temperament in his work as a reflection of his own personal suffering and mystical beliefs - convinced that modern man had lost touch with the primordial side of his nature.
Born in Mytholmroyd, a remote mill town in West Yorkshire, Ted (as he was known to his friends and family) was enormously affected by the desolate moorland landscape of his childhood, and also by his father's vivid recollections of the brutality of trench warfare. Savage steel siding Indeed, his father, who was then a carpenter, was one of only seventeen men from his regiment to have survived at Gallipoli during the First World War.
At the age of seven his family moved to Mexborough (also in Yorkshire), where his parents opened a stationery and tobacco shop. Here he attended the local grammar school, where he first began to write poetry - usually bloodcurdling verses about Zulus and cowboys - before doing two years' national service in the Royal Air Force. He later won a scholarship to Pembroke College, Cambridge, where he started reading English Literature but switched to archaeology and anthropology, subjects that were a major influence on the development of his poetic awareness. Here he immersed himself in the works of Shakespeare, W.B. Yeats and read Robert Graves's "The White Goddess" (1948).

Following his graduation in 1954, he moved to London, where he had a number of interesting jobs, including zoo keeping, gardening and script reading for J. Arthur Rank. He also had several of his poems published in university magazines. In 1956 he and some Cambridge friends started up a literary journal called St. Botolph's Review. It lasted for only one issue but at the inaugural party Ted met his future wife, the then unknown American poet, Sylvia Plath.
Much has been written about the Hughes/Plath relationship since that first portentous meeting, but few can doubt that these two brilliantly creative people were enormously attracted to one another, almost from the moment they were first introduced. Within just a few short months they were married and living in the USA, where Hughes taught English and creative writing at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. And before the year was out, he had won an American poetry competition, judged by W.H. Auden, Sir Stephen Spender and Marianne Moore. Hughes once said of this contented period:
"We would write poetry every day. It was all we were interested in, all we ever did." - Ted Hughes
Plath assisted him with the preparation of his first collection, The Hawk in the Rain (1957), a work that was quite extraordinary in its treatment of natural subjects. He continued to live in America for the next few years, being partly supported by a Guggenheim Foundation grant, before returning to England in 1959. He then went on to win the Somerset Maugham award and the Hawthornden prize for his second book, "Luperca"l (1960); confirming his reputation as one of the most important poets of the post-war period.
The next few years of Ted's life have since become the subject of much biographical speculation. However, the simple facts are that he and Plath had two children and moved to Devon in 1961. Their marriage began to disintegrate shortly thereafter and Hughes started an affair with Assia Wevill. He split from Plath and she committed suicide in her London flat in 1963. In 1969 Wevill also killed herself and their child. He married Carol Orchard in 1970 and spent the rest of his life trying to protect his and Plath's children from the media. Hughes published only children's poetry and prose in the years following the death of his first wife.
His next major work was "Wodwo" (1967), which took its title from a character in the medieval romance "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight", and highlighted his increasing interest in mythology. He travelled to Iran in 1971, where he wrote the verse/drama "Orghast" in an invented language. Some of his other collections include "Crow" (1970), "Cave Birds" (1975), "Season Songs" (1976), "Gaudete" (a long poem on fertility rites, 1977), "Moortown" (1979), "Remains of Elmet" (1979) and "River" (1983).

Hughes was also one of the originators of the Arvon Foundation and was awarded an OBE in 1977. In 1984 he was appointed Poet Laureate and went on to publish "Rain-Charm for the Duchy and other Laureate Poems" (1992). Then in 1995 he composed a poem about Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, for her 95th birthday, likening her to a six-rooted tree. He also wrote many reviews and essays, some of which were collected in "Shakespeare and the Goddess of Complete Being" (1992), "A Dancer to God: Tribute to T.S. Eliot" (1992) and "Winter Pollen: Occasional Prose" (1994). In addition to all this he also wrote many wonderful plays and books for children, including his remarkable fantasy "The Iro

Studying Abroad at the University of Cambridge
By Dylan Holden, C’18
Studying abroad at the University of Cambridge has been such an amazing and transformative experience! I am split between Pembroke and King’s Colleges within the university and am taking rigorous courses in cell biology, Cambridge literary history, as well as metaphysics and philosophy of mind with world-renowned professors and students from all over the world.
The university has such a deep and involved history as it is the third-oldest university in the world (founded in 1209) and has housed many famous alumni such as Isaac Newton, Stephen Hawking, C.S. Lewis and Charles Darwin (whose room I am fortunate enough to live in!).
The prestige and rich tradition of the university can be felt everywhere on campus – from punting on the River Cam that Sylvia Plath described so vividly in her poetry, to studying in the King’s library by the famous chapel, to having a pint with your friends at The Eagle where Watson and Crick announced the structure of DNA.
The Cambridge student workers and coordinators make sure to offer plenty of opportunities around campus and the local area to keep all of the summer students busy.
A typical week for me would most likely consist of touring new cafes and restaurants, going to pickup football games, a formal dinner at one of the colleges, guided tours of the local architectural or historical sites, watching a Shakespeare play in the gardens, and, of course, plenty of studying and writing.
One of the highlights of my time here so far has definitely been experiencing the art and culture of London, only a 45-minute train ride away. In proper British fashion, a group of friends and I attended one of the many BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall that are held over the summer months. Our prom, entitled “Ella and Dizzy: A Centenary Tribute” was a concert focused on jazz legends Ella Fitzgerald and Dizzy Gillespie, conducted by Grammy and Tony Award winner John Mauceri.
Other high points of my time in the city included tasting my way through Borough Market, viewing the Royal Palaces, and enjoying the street music and festivals in and around Hyde Park. While in the U.K. I have been fortunate enough to make amazing friends that I traveled with to Scotland, Sweden, and to many other locations within the U.K. as well.
During an extremely rainy weekend in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, I visited the Edinburgh Castle that has been around since the 12th century, walked the “Royal Mile” street to the tune of bagpipes, had a tour of the Scottish Parliament building, and enjoyed a traditional meal of haggis.
In Stockholm, Sweden, I was able to practice my (mediocre) Swedish with the locals, walked the narrow streets and shops of the Gamla Stan, toured the Fotografiska photography museum that contains some of the most famous photos ever taken, and experienced the Vasa Museum that is housed inside of a 17th century Swedish warship.
While my last two weeks here before returning to the Mount will be focused on preparing for final exams and essays, I hope to continue learning more about Cambridge’s history and experiencing life here in the company of great friends.
The professional connections and opportunities I have gained from this trip have already proven to be invaluable and will undoubtedly play a major role in my future endeavors and life after graduation.
Without the support and expertise of the Mount’s scholarship committee, my advisors Dr. Rosie Bolen and Dr. Garth Patterson, as well as other Mount students who suggested the program, I would have missed out on a once in a lifetime opportunity that has changed who I am as a student and as a person.
