VOGUE SYDNEY WINTER SPOTS
The Vogue team’s list of the cosy winter spots they frequent when the temperature drops.
“Sydney is such a summer city, that when it’s cold and rainy it isn’t really set up for it. During winter, we tend to have people over more and cook up big meals like paella or anything in the slow cooker. If I’m braving the cold, I’ll go out to the farmer’s market in Flemington to buy all of the ingredients (you have to go early, before 7am, to beat the crowds though). Otherwise, The Centennial is a good winter pub!” – Remy Rippon, beauty editor
“Sometimes, not all the time, the rain makes me want to go out at night more, find somewhere small and set up camp in the corner with a wintery drink. I like a place that makes mulled wine, like GDR in Redfern. Other than that my three favourite local pubs - the Chippendale Hotel, the Rose and I can recommend the Duck Inn for a good place to perch at the bar. The friendly bartenders will let you just order the brioche and duck paté. Otherwise - bed!” – Alice Birrell, fashion features and news editor
“Kid free, I love requesting a table by the fire at the Commons, it has yummy hearty winter dishes… and with the kids it’s all about Coogee Pavilion with pizza and the huge kid friendly play area at the back.” – Kate Darvill, senior fashion editor
“The Oaks in Neutral Bay. It’s got such a cosy feel to it and is well equipped for a chilly winter evening with those fireplaces.” – Danielle Gay, editorial coordinator
“Head to Four in Hand in Paddington for a long lunch. The restaurant does a set menu for large groups and has private dining rooms, and the pub has a Sunday roast. I just did this on the weekend with a group of girls for fun (no birthdays, no celebrations) - we had a great time!” – Zara Wong, fashion features and content strategy director
“At Gusto in Coogee outside on the bench in the sun with a full-fat cappucino (post cross-fit workout).” – Danica Osland, bookings editor
“I love watching the winter waves roll and crash in from Bondi Icebergs Dining room over a nice lunch with close friends. It’s a pretty nice place to be in summer too.” – Rikki Keene, photography and casting director
“I’d have to say Corridor in Newtown for some amazing mulled wine and the Newtown Hotel for some even better food - think roasts with all the sides.” – Lilith Hardie Lupica, online associate editor
“Bed, face mask and American Netflix.” – Erin Weinger, digital commercial editor

- Chocolate class lesson 01 - Classic chocolate truffles, orange truffles, almond rocher and white mendiants at TAFE Cert IV Patisserie. #eatsydney #foundongoogle #sydney #sydneyguide #wheretoeat #wheretoeatsydney #wheretogosydney #goodfoodsydney #sydneyfoodblogger #foodblogger #foodie #pastry #chocolate https://www.instagram.com/p/CEYuVE-FajZ/?igshid=sng9mxm2oimp
