It’s my last Sculpture by the Sea Post! I’m sad! I actually took a lot of pictures this year so I’m thinking I need to do a Steller story or FB album or something ... 🤔. In the meantime, this is my actual favourite shot from my time in Cottesloe. It’s a truly beautiful sculpture called the “The Circle Game” by Akira Kamada and it’s made predominantly from bamboo and rope. I captured it from the air, against a gorgeous backdrop of ocean, and crowds of people out enjoying the show. I hope you get to visit, it’s such a… It’s my last Sculpture by the Sea Post! I’m sad! More Sculpture goodness, this is “Thoughts of Pinocchio” by Bongsoo Kim and it was easily one of my favourite pieces. Although sunset at Cottesloe is awesome, sunset over the ocean = , I also loved the early morning light and lighter crowds at sunrise. To me one of the best aspects of this event is to see people from all walks of life appreciating art. To be honest, how many of us regularly check out sculpture or go to galleries? I saw so many people appreciating, questioning or being challenged by the pieces and THAT is what this event is… More Sculpture goodness, this is “Thoughts of Pinocchio” by Bongsoo Kim and it was easily one of my favourite pieces. So, I’ve just gotten home after being in Western Australia for the launch of Cottesloe’s annual Sculpture by the Sea, how lucky am I? I spent four days on the beach with the art, except for this one afternoon where I was in the helicopter! There’s a lot of favorites this year for me, and the event is running until the 18th March. So if you weren’t one of the thousands of people in this photo then don’t miss out. The most recognisable sculpture in this shot was the set up for “Miyarnu Bundara”, Star Knowing, by Nicole Monks. This piece is a celebration of the connection of First Nations people to this land. I caught the activation and it was beautiful. ️ @SculptureByTheSea #SculptureByTheSea . . . . . #sxscottesloe19 #justanotherdayinWA #westernaustralia #seeaustralia #sxsmoments #rotorvation #australia #cottesloebeach So, I’ve just gotten home after being in Western Australia for the launch of Cottesloe’s annual Sculpture by the Sea, how lucky am I? Instameet Announcement! Everyone says that I don’t give them enough lead time when I host an instameet, and that I never come to Perth … Well, that’s about to change. Haha. West Coast, I’m coming for you! I’ll be in Cottesloe Beach for Sculpture by the Sea this week, and I’m holding a sunset instameet. If you’re around on Saturday (the 2nd March), come and meet us at 5:00 PM at the Linda Bowden's sculpture 'The Yearning' behind the on-site information marquee for a photo walk around the Sculptures. We’ll likely end up going for a drink or meal afterwards, but this will be… Instameet Announcement!
