First of all, learning that Endo used to be so opposed to creating conventionally good looking men that his coworkers made fun of him for Loid's design is delightfully silly to me.

Second of all, I totally see it now 😂

The male cast includes: Donovan Desmond, Frankie, psychiatrist guy, and Henderson who all have a goofy quality to their design. In the manga, there's also Wheeler and Twilight 's older spy co-worker, but they both show up for basically two seconds at a time. I guess there is Yuri too but as Endo said, "once women find out how he actually is, they leave him alone."

The Eden kids also stray from your typical, cute elementary schooler vibe. Damian is the outlier here, having clearly inherited his looks from his mom. But then there is Ewen with his two foot tall hair, Emile with his bowl cut, Bill Watkins who is a literal man child (child man...?), and George Glooman who is.. George Glooman.

Very fun to see how artist's style preferences shape the story. Because Loid is just your average, normal guy, he almost stands out more ~ but people are more likely to trust him.

I had a thought --- You know how Conan and Haibara are also the "same age" as Anya and the Eden kids in spy x family? So hence here's Conan and Haibara in the Eden uniforms since I can allow myself to fantasise.

I don't know if this has been done before, but I like coai a very lot, they're my childhood. There's just something about their camaraderie and mutual trust that makes me so happy.

Eden AU.

He’s student council president/ imperial scholar/ everyone’s friend and crush. She’s.. Yor. But they live on the same block and happen to have younger siblings (Anya’s Loid’s little sister) and by sheer coincidence they bumped into each other picking up their siblings and it’s become a regular thing and he’s very busy so she ends up babysitting Anya but nobody else knows and uh yeah?

Honestly with the workload these kids be getting, what they are studying in school and just generally how they are treated. You really forget these kids are like 6 years old.

Anya is the only one that consistently acts her age and so she sometimes comes off as immature which is insane when you think about it they are all literally 6. This also works cause we can assume she is a year or 2 younger than the rest of her grade, still, even then it’s insane.

Which is why when the other kids actually start to show their age usually in situations of great emotion, the bus hijacking for one. Or even when the kids think one of them is going to have to leave because his family is now poor and they all rally around this kid they never even really spoke to, or when they literally think that some macaroons will make them smarter and help them pass the test. Or when they simply want to play outside.

it’s so jarring and you’re left being like oh right they're six, this isn’t normal. Six-year-olds shouldn't be put under this kind of pressure.

It's another neat little insight into just what kind of society these kids are living in. And a little bit of irony that Loid who wants to create a society where little kids don't have to cry anymore is on a mission that requires the infiltration of a school where little kids can't even be ones.
