I had such a fun time bringing back my swimsuit Junko Enoshima cosplay last weekend at YetiCon! Thank you so much to @zeldamomoe for cosplaying with me and for being my photographer! This was the perfect end to my weekend up in Canada. 💗

day 9: aoi x junko (in this household we love toxic yuri)

i came up with an idea for an au based on aoi's unused execution where she survives it somehow, so junko makes her go through it again and again to see how much it will take for aoi to give in to despair (of course demonstrating it to their classmates and cameras for the world to see)

+ a sketch-y ref of the swimsuit i made for myself in the process (got inspiration from this design)

Beta Hajime Hinata Sprite Analysis

So I have yet to make part 2 of my big beta sprite post but I want to make this post because...why not.

So, a little context. Today I'll be talking about this sprite:

Because out of all the Hajime sprites that I currently have knowledge on, it's the one with the most complex history.

I won't bore you with reiteration if you've seen my Part 1 post, so please go read that if you want extra context on the existing beta SDR2 sprites. But basically, in a nutshell, DRS used quite a few beta sprites for their swimsuit sprite sets. As such, this is the sprite used for Hajime in this pose, a comparison gif included:

Fun fact about comparing these sprites, is that Danganronpa commonly will change the line art of their sprites, but not fix the coloring layer.

For example, since Hajime's eye was moved further left, the...general prohibition sign, I guess, in his eye is no longer dead center like it was obviously meant to be.

You can see the blue area fluctuates in width on the final sprite (left) while in the original sprite, it was as intended. This is very common. Several other Danganronpa character have this issue. Off the top of my head I can name Nagito, Kauzichi, and Junko who have this kind of color error in one or several of their sprites.

That, aside, please now look at this picture from the Japanese SDR2 PSP manual (which I scanned and uploaded myself - you can find the full manual here).

This sprite is even earlier than the one shown in DRS. Sadly because of the manual's printing quality, it's hard to make out details, but...with a bit of computer magic (blurring the photo and Hajime's sprite) we can better do a comparison.

So, here's what we can tell about the facial differences: his eye was longer, his hair was sharper (including extra black outlines), his mouth was slightly more slanted, his ear was bigger (un-detailed ears are a telling sign of a Danganronpa beta sprite) and his eyebrows looked meaner. In general, I've found many of Hajime's earlier sprites to have been designed to look meaner, likely because conceptually, he was always meant to be a more "assertive" and "masculine" protagonist to counter Makoto, who spoke rather casually but politely in the Japanese version. Hajime on the other hand speaks much more roughly (his rudeness is more akin to how Byakuya talks. This detail was lost in translation though...) so it makes sense his sprites were originally planning to reflect this "meaner" protagonist image.

For fun I attempted to edit Hajime's DRS sprite and put together what this theoretical early beta may have looked like.

Far from perfect but it gives an idea. I also found through editing the sprite that Hajime's torso was sized down in the final sprite. I really only focused on editing his face so some minor details on the shirt were largely ignored.

I promise I'll make that part 2 post sometime this month...maybe.

I really like that both Junko and Izuru have events that like. you can get the same event with Mukuro or Hajime. And see how it's different depending on if actual Junko or Mukuro pretending or if Izuru or Hajime. It's fun and an interesting tidbit I'm glad they included.

I made a meme about Junko's collab swimsuit because the one she wears in Danganronpa S is different from the one she wears in the cover art, so the collab swimsuit could be either one of them.

I like both, but I think a lot of people will be disappointed if it's not the one in the cover art of the game.

Mukuro, Sayaka, and Komaru, all competing for Makoto’s “affection” in the beach.

It was summer, that means pretty much what you might expect. All three doing their best to not only show off, but get into Makoto's pants by any means necessary...

Problem is that Makoto was feeling very dense that day.

For Sayaka, she opted for doing a classic. Eating a popsicle in the most suggestive manner, while letting the drops fall onto her boobs, while right in front of Makoto. His response? To think she just wants another popsicle and get her another one! While sweet, it was far from what Sayaka wanted but all she could do was just eat the popsicle in annoyance.

Mukuro also went for a classic, which was having Makoto rub sunscreen all over her back...and eventually guide him to rubbing it into her freckled booty in that thong Junko suggested she wear. Unfortunately, Makoto was so focused on her back that he never once got tosaid booty at all and left with his job, technically, complete but Mukuro's glutes unprotected.

Komaru was the most bold having arrived at the beach later and calling Makoto into the changing rooms. Dressed in a small towel that left little to the imagination, Komaru held up two skimpy swimsuits for him to choose from. Problem was that Makoto legitimately had trouble picking which looked better (who knew he was kind of a fashion critic?) and it go to the point Komaru got fed up and kicked him out, opting to wear a mix of both instead.

Eventually, before the day was up, all three had enough and went for the most straightforward approach: dragging Makoto back to the hotel room, stripping down in front of him and finally allowing him to connect the dots before giving them another part of himself that was 'dense'~

I have a grudge against danganronpa s (got back door piloted by utdp which definitely took so much time and budget away from v3 and resulted in that game being way worse than it could’ve been otherwise) so I know that I’m probably not being reasonable about this but I’m actually so mad that they changed Sonia’s swimsuit design from SDR2. She should’ve been in the wetsuit still cmon

Himiko Yumeno from Danganronpa V3 Killing Harmony

swimming underwater in the academy pool and alongside the Bull Shark Pup aka the shark protagonist from the Game Maneater and petting it’s snout.

Details: the image ref’s I sent were to help show what Himiko wears while underwater and the design of the Bull Shark Pup

Himiko wears a dark red long sleeved zip up swimsuit while wearing black red diving fins on her feet and black red diving mask on her face.

Scenario: Himiko would sneak out late at night while in Hope’s Peak Academy and go to the academy deep end swimming pool to sneakily recklessly practice her underwater escape acts in the pool.

Himiko would wear mini underwater hand cuffs and ball chain attached to her leg as she is at the bottom of the pool using a mini lock pick and carefully holding her breath

and focused on getting herself out and not drown to prove why her Ultimate Student Talent as Magician .

meanwhile Junko be secretly scuba diving in the pool and notices Himiko Praticing her underwater escape act and decides to have despair fun by firing a loud harpoon from her monokuma like speargun towards Himiko as it got embedded into the swimming pool wall

shocking Himiko a lot as she lost grip of her lock pick

and tries to swim and grab it even if her hands are still hand cuffed Himiko would try to swim upwards but weighed down by the ball and chain on her leg and Just As Himiko was about to drown

Junko laughs crazily despair like until she gets surprised by the sight of a uniquely coloured Bull Shark Pup swimming around in the pool for unknown reasons

but Junko cares less and smugly crazily believes it’s about to attack and eat Himiko

until the Bull Shark Pup fast like swims toward Himiko and helps bite the handcuff’s off Himiko’s arms causing her to be surprised but still struggling to hold her breath

The Bull Shark Pup was about to swim down and help bite off the. Ball and Chain’s rope attached to Himiko’s leg preventing her from swimming up to the surface of the water until the shark slowly turns in Junko’s direction surprising her a bit as she waves in normal Junko fashion.

until outta nowhere the shark pup secretly has glowing glare in its yellow eyes and fast like swims towards Junko and bites onto her scuba tank ripping it off shocking and surprising Junko a lot in the process

the shark swims back towards Himiko as she still is struggling to breath

and The Bull Shark Pup spits out the scuba tank from its small jaws and let’s Himiko see it as she quickly grabs onto the once to be Junko’s scuba tank and straps it on as she takes quick deep breaths from the oxygen mouthpiece and stares at the Bull Shark Pup in surprise but thankful curious smile behind the oxygen mouthpiece

the shark would swim down to the bottom of the pool and bite onto the rope of the ball and chain that’s attached to Himiko’s leg and help tear it apart allowing Himiko to swim freely as she curiously

swims close to the Bull Shark Pup and hugs and strokes it’s snout in thanks while doing a happy underwater Nyah gurgled sound effect tho the Bull Shark Pup is shy of human affection and nuzzles against Himiko

meanwhile Junko attempts to try and sneak up on Himiko with a crazy despair look in her eyes while holding her breath as Himiko is to busy being curious about the shark and finds it’s so cute and especially its colour patterns but that’s all interrupted by Tenko as she loudly dives into the pool and swims down worriedly to Himiko hugging onto her while yelling underwater muffled words

of where the hell were you !!?!?

While Himiko isn’t phased and swims over and continues stroking the Bull Shark Pup and Tenko looks utter flabbergasted at the sight of a shark in the pool and isn’t a threat but also strangely surviving it’s pool conditions Tenko would be confused and yells a gurgled FUCKING HOW!!??

While Himiko casually takes the oxygen mouthpiece from her mouth while petting the Bull Shark Pup’s snout and says a gurgled underwater muffled smug happy M a g i c

and Junko she sneakily got out of the pool before anyone noticed her.🦈🤿🫧

Didn’t know if you wanted a single piece or a comic, so i'm doing both! The comic is going to take some time, so have this first! (I also don't want the ask to get lost)

in-game info from v3's UTDP Mode and Danganronpa S: Summer Camp AU, for fanart/fanfic inspiration etc. note that this is a "nice" universe where v3 goes to Hope's Peak and Junko never Junko'd.
