MetaDede Week Day 5: Sweets

Every month or so, when the Halberd makes its way back to Castle Dedede, there's a tradition amongst the royal family. One that should never be interrupted.

It's dessert night with the fam! Kirby and Bandana Dee are here too! Can't leave out the kiddos.

E5 Scene 11 - Duet

Kim shows Chay around; Chay is a little overwhelmed. Kim explains the whole Wik/Kim name business, and they talk about what Chay needs to do for admission to the program. This involves writing a song, so maybe he could try writing one about his brother.

How did Kim know he had a brother...? Must have seen his phone. By the way, can Kim borrow that?

He finds no signs that Chay is lying about Porsche and nothing suspicious in his phone, and is about to cut things short. However, Chay has managed to put together a decent start to a song in less than two minutes, and this draws Kim irresistibly.

What we learned:

Kim has good English and enjoys a lot of privilege at school

Chay has been sending Porsche cute little texts about day to day life even though he knows they won't be received

i can only Assume that when someone asks two characters if they're dating (when they're friends instead) and they go what? no, EWWW, how can you even THINK that, it's GROSS, they mean that they see each other as almost siblings (and incest is yucky!!! gotta make this known even if no one asked), and/or that they seen each other's worst moments and Aren't Into That. but however i can't help but feel like this is a very exaggerated response that isn't even half as funny as people think it is, and also, that it should be used between the actual future couple. for the flavour

as in, usually X/Y friends to lovers fics, you won't have X or Y saying that. maybe X and their friend Z, who supports X/Y wholeheartedly and can't wait for them to get together. but imagine if you will: someone you're miserably in love with making dramatic puking noises at the mere suggestion of dating you ^_^

Atemu had no idea what it was that Yugi had planned for them up on the rooftop when his partner took his hand and led him from the warmth of their shared apartment. However, he didn't ask either, figuring it was some kind of surprise with how quiet aibou was being about it. And with how the TV was talking about the new year coming in, he figured it had something to do with that. And when he took in the set up on the rooftop, a warm smile replaced the confusion. Ah, just as he thought. Their own private New Years celebration.

He wasn't sure when he set this up, maybe while they were cleaning earlier and putting the last of the Christmas decorations back in storage? Something about it being bad luck to have the tree up when the New Year came and it carrying over bad mojo from the last year or something..

Either way, his partner had done this with them in mind and it warmed the once king's heart as he took it all in. Even more so when he realized part of why Yugi did this was probably so he could finally experience this first hand. Another of many new experiences, the turn of a new year with hopefully many more to come for them.

A boom and a crackle from the sky drew his attention upward and away from the arrangement just as he was pulled down onto the cushions. Large plumes of multicolored lights briefly lit up the sky in intricate designs. Fireworks that he was able to finally see for himself and truly take awe in as he distractedly accepted an offered cup of cocoa.

Here in this moment, as Yugi wrapped them both in the warmth of a blanket and his arm went around the smaller form of his partner, he'd never been more at peace. As Yugi himself had thought before, so many things had culminated to finally bring them to this exact moment in time. The turn of a new year, together. Goodbye to the past and hello to the future and all it may bring.

Even the sip he had of the cocoa in his hand seemed even sweeter and richer than normal just at the concept. And when he heard the echoes of the countdown starting from further in the city and the large display counting down, he couldn't help but hold his breath in anticipation. He wasn't left disappointed when just when the display and the voices hit "1" he was pulled into a kiss, one which he gladly returned.

Cheers of "Happy New Year" filled the city and again, his heart warmed. What a great way to bring in another year, kissing the one he loved. Kissing his fiance, he noted again as the kiss broke and he rose a hand to cup a pale cheek cooled by the night air. The gold band and ruby on his finger caught the light of a firework from his peripheral, causing equally ruby eyes to flick to it before returning to the amethyst of his beloved's.

"Happy New Year, Yugi," he softly replied, smile growing again. He knew one thing he wanted this new year, and that was a ceremony along with two more rings to join those telling of their engagement. Wedding bands this time to complete the set and to complete one another. For now he contented himself with bending for another kiss, the fireworks a beautiful backdrop lighting the sky and lighting them.

With the start of another year starting off so sweetly, he looked forward to what the rest of it would bring.

many different interpretations of batman make me happy and I love exploring what each one is like; a very serious one, a very compassionate one, a very authoritative one

but I think my favorite batman is one that's like extremely compassionate and cares about every single person he tries to save. he takes on as much pain from everyone around him as he can and tries to hide it, turn it inwards, make it his burden so no one else has to suffer. i like the idea of Batman taking a loving approach to his rogues, holding their faces gently in his hands and genuinely wanting to help them, see them get better, hurting when circumstances that created him help create more. but he's willing to take it on because he sees it as his fault, his punishment, his duty... and he takes it very seriously, because he is Gotham City, he is the night, he is justice!!! he is batman!!! and batman is his true self and it is so hard for him to be anything else but that, especially Bruce wayne

Thinking again about how even though Tavi is basically at conversational level of fluency in Eorzean by EW she starts improving leaps and bounds when she becomes friends with Eren bc she trusts him enough to be vulnerable and make mistakes that he can correct and this goes for her reading Eorzean as well (something she’s very insecure about) and I just …..two people…growing from one another….
