ULTIMATE TALENT SWAP AU PART 1

this didn’t fit into the format but in Kokichi’s fun facts, i made a small mistake. it was supposed to say he successfully solved the missing person’s case

anyways, i’ll be taking my time creating character colored refs of the other characters, but i already have an idea/talent all set for the cast of characters. it’s just going to take a while to draw them out :D!

Ultimate Neurosurgeon - Miu Iruma!

Ive been absolutely obsessed with this concept for a few days now. Please indulge me in ranting about it gdhsjkfs

This talentswapped Miu has the same general backstory as canon Miu- she had an accident and fell into a coma, and when she woke up she had acquired her neurosience talent. Now Miu is completely uncertified and refuses to get any certification. Her genius is innate and the world should recognize her for it! But she also doesn't follow protocol to a horrifying degree- She doesn't follow dress code, she wears minimal PPE, her tools are gold coloured and not standard, and she operates without any licence.

Miu's status as an Ultimate protects her from legal action, and her 100% surgical success rate despite her refusal to partake in standard procedure keeps her reputation from completely tanking. However, she still can't work as a surgeon at any normal hospital, so she operates out of her own private clinic. Wealthy patients will often go out of their way to have her as their doctor. The nurses working under her are deeply uncomfortable with her behaviour, but she does get the job done... regardless, her overall reputation is kind of sketchy, but seemingly reliable.

In the killing game, I think this version of Miu could have a similar role to what she has in the actual game, but with a twist. Rather than working on inventions to help discover the truth of the game and escape, Miu focuses on discovering the mechanism behind the flashback lights. I think with enough work, (especially with the chapter 2 motive videos) she'd discover that the flashback lights were not bringing up forgotten memories, but inserting fake ones. Maybe this would cause a mental break that would lead to a similar outcome in canon ch4...

Komamiki week day 2: Remnants of despair/Talentswap au

Against popular belief, I have not yet deceased and I will make that everyone else's problem.

Just started a new job and didn't have much time to draw while getting used to things. Anyway, I bring you Inspirational Speaker Whit this time.

I was stumped on how to dress him- I don't think someone like Whit would dress full dapper, he's far too casual for it. So eventually, I just settled on the outfit that made him look the most fuckboyish instead. I think this is more in line with something Whit would wear if he were forced to dress somewhat formally.

NEXT UP ON THE DANGANRONPA TALENT SWAP THINGY THAT I STILL HAVEN'T COME UP WITH A NAME FOR YET: CHIAKI AND HAJIME!

I know, I know, the last characters I did were Makoto and Kyoko, so why did I move to Danganronpa 2? Well, I wanted to draw them :)

So basically I'm just gonna post whichever characters from whichever game I want at random lol

Most likely next characters are gonna be Ibuki and either Mikan or Hiyoko. (Or Shuichi & Kaede) We'll see though.

Character info for these two (and Makoto and Kyoko cuz I didn't bring it up in their post) under the cut! (I hope I'm using this term right, I'm still pretty new to Tumblr haha)

Hajime- Anxiety personified. He feels like his talent isn't grand or important enough, which is why he tries (and fails) to learn other talents. However, he still loves video games (Pac-Man especially), which leads to him getting a lack of sleep, which leads to his overall sleepy demeanor. Not protag btw, that's gonna be the Ultimate ??? in DR2.

Chiaki- The Ultimate Lucky student, and the antagonist of the DR2 talent swap. Instead of an obsession with hope, Chiaki believes that nobody in the world truly trusts anybody, and that belief isn't real. To prove that, she acts very sweet and gentle during the beginning of the killing game, only to attempt murder in the first case. (I won't say who dies first yet though~) When people begin to doubt her, she shows her true colors, and I won't go much further into it than that~ Oh, and she also has an obsession a cute lil' crush on Hajime.

Now onto Makoto and Kyoko.

Makoto- An incredible young detective with an unrivaled sense of justice and hope. He constantly gets into scuffles with criminals, almost always coming out of a case with some type of injury. He always takes on the most dangerous cases so that no one else has to. He knew Kyoko from before the Killing Game started, and was VERY happy to hear she got in as well, as he does have a huge crush on her. Oh, and he's not the protag. That goes to Ultimate Lucky Student of THH, who you'll see later!

Kyoko- Kyoko is the Ultimate "Fashionista", but... She doesn't really get why. She was encouraged by Makoto to go to a photo shoot for a random magazine, and her popularity skyrocketed. She was immediately put in hundreds of magazines and was ultimately invited into Hope's Peak. ...Or at least... That's her cover story. (Yes, she is the Mastermind. More on her later~!)

Naegami talent swap au concept sketches I drew several months ago 🫡

Headcanons for this au under the cut!

•Makoto is still very charismatic, and knows how to get along with people, but it’s for his own gain, rather than because he actually cares about others. For the first two chapters, everyone actually really likes him (except Byakuya, because he figured Makoto out immediately). It isn’t until mid second trial that everyone starts to see him for who he really is- a manipulative piece of shit.

•Makoto has an ongoing, intense, brutal rivalry going on with Komaru for control over their parents’ company. They hate each other.

•Byakuya’s dad is still a manwhore who slept around with multiple women, and has a gajillion kids around Japan. Byakuya doesn’t know any of his half-siblings, and doesn’t care to know them.

•Byakuya’s mom doesn’t like him- he was unplanned, unwanted, and his father disappeared without a trace and doesn’t pay child support. In short, he’s seen as an inconvenience. Because of that, he’s had to essentially learn how to take care of himself, and learn to not rely on anyone else.

•At his shitty middle school, Byakuya spent a lot of time tutoring some of the kids there for extra school credit. Some of those kids had, in one way or another, ties to Mondo’s gang. Word got back to Mondo about him, and he thinks Byakuya is awesome for this, even though they didn’t get to meet until they got trapped in Hope’s Peak. Mondo tries really hard to he his friend, but because Byakuya has very deeply rooted trust issues, it doesn’t work that well.

•Byakuya still catches Mondo leaving the crime scene he made, and finds Chihiro in the locker room, but he doesn’t alter the scene this time. He’s actually really shaken up by it, and refuses to leave his room after finding it, until Monokuma (and Makoto) practically drag him out against his will to participate in the investigation/trial.

•No one likes Byakuya at first, because he doesn’t cooperate, and is blunt with his words. He doesn’t care (or pretends he doesn’t) because he’s never met anyone he could trust in his life thus far, so why would anyone here be trustworthy? It isn’t until the end of the second trial that everyone starts warming up to him. Hina and Sakura even apologize to him for being so rude at first, and say he shouldn’t have had to go through all that. Kyoko also starts asking for his opinion on a lot of stuff about the school, and future trials. Byakuya is appalled by this.

•Something, something, Makoto and Byakuya hold hands, but it takes much longer for them to do that in this au, than in a canon talent au, because neither of them know how to communicate properly, and trust issues are a BITCH.

•Makoto receives the Hina slap in this au LMAO. He’ll never admit it, but it actually really hurts his feelings.

Something me and my friends came up with, you might get more drawings of them soon (but don't count on it I have a lot I'm working on...)

Anyway! Their talents are swapped but any life events outside of it remain the same. Aka Xander's family still dies when he's young. In this, David runs away from home (shitty parents) and as the ultimate rebel bent on exposing corruption, he goes to investigate the incident that killed Xander's family, which is how they meet when they're still teens :)
