Based on what we've seen in-game, including all their heart events, dialogue, and character development moments, here are my guesses on each bachelor and bachelorette's MBTI/Cognitive Functions: Bachelors: Alex- ESTP - [Se, Ti, Fe, Ni] Elliott - ISFP - [Fi, Se, Ni, Te] Harvey - ISFJ - [Si, Fe, Ti, Ne] Sam - ESFP - [Se, Fi, Te, Ni] Sebastian - INTP - [Ti, Ne, Si, Fe] Shane - ISTP - [Ti, Se, Ni, Fe] Bachelorettes: Abigail - ENFP - [Ne, Fi, Te, Si] Emily - ESFP - [Se, Fi, Te, Ni] Haley - ESTJ - [Te, Si, Ne, Fi] Leah - INFP - [Fi, Ne, Si, Te] Maru - ENTP - [Ne, Ti, Fe, Si] Penny - ESFJ - [Fe, Si, Ne, Ti] Not all characters fit the stereotypes of their MBTI, which is why I've based my theory more heavily on Cognitive Functions than the 4 letter typing system. Some characters have the same "type" [ex: Sam and Emily], but how they use their functions depends greatly on their interests, beliefs, life experiences, and personal development. Maturity and stages in life also impact how the functions will manifest and if they are well developed/balanced within the stack: Both Robin and Alex are ESTPs, but Robin is a mature woman in her 40s while Alex is still a young man in his early 20's. This difference in age and life experience has given Robin, in my opinion, more time to develop her inferior functions: Fe and Ni, making her more even-tempered, more socially 'smooth'/personable/empathetic, and less impulsive, in comparison to a young and developing ESTP like Alex.

I plan to add Enneagram types to each character at some point as well. MBTI and Enneagram pair wonderfully together and are great at fleshing out each character's complex inner makeup of "how?" and "why?".

Types of Stardew Valley Players when Romancing People:

Type A: Makes different farms to romance each bachelor/bachelorette.

Type B: Romances everyone on one profile, by marrying and divorcing each person.

Type C: Makes a new farm with the intention of marrying a different person, but always goes back to their one true love. Whether they married someone else before meeting their one true love depends on if they are Type C-A (married someone else before trying their true love's route) or Type C-B (found their true love first).

Type D: Saw the one and fell in love instantly. They shall never romance anyone else. They will make numerous different profiles with the sole intention of just going through their heart events all over again. They will never dream of divorcing them. Has never romanced anyone else and probably never will. They are obsessed with their partner, giving them gifts every single day, talking to them as much as they can in one day (every day), and they probably get no real work done on the farm.

Type E: Type D, but make it a healthy relationship.

Y'all can probably guess which one I am.

Given that Penny hates all alcohol and has sworn never to drink anything strong, she became intoxicated by accident, drinking a cocktail that the young teacher mistook for fruit juice. And she doesn't like this state. She feels tired, sleepy, dizzy... Why is she staggering around? How can her mother drink beer and like this condition? Penny wants to go home, to sleep and finally get rid of the feeling of intoxication. Oh, she doesn't enjoy drinking, that's for sure.

The party for Abigail was just beginning, woohoo! After a couple of delicious cocktails based on hard liquor, the purple-haired girl felt a huge rush of energy and euphoria. She was ready to drag Sebastian to the dance floor, challenge Sam to a duel in an arcade machine, or something else crazy. But also when drinking alcohol, Abby could be a little aggressive. It even got to the point where she threatened a rude tourist with a sword (now there's a "No swords" sign in the Saloon. Sorry, Farmer).

Haley doesn't often go to the Saloon, preferring to drink liqueurs and martinis at home. In principle, two small glasses of sweet, strong alcohol are enough for a girl to tell herself to stop. In light intoxication, she becomes chatty, cheerful and flirtatious, sometimes a little capricious. But if she miscalculates and drinks too much, she gets sad and tearful (then nauseous and headachey. Ugh, hangovers suck).

Maru was very curious about what the strawberry wine she had been given for her birthday tasted like... Just a quarter of the bottle, and the young inventor left the rest for later, as she treats alcohol responsibly. With the alcohol in her blood, Maru became very talkative: a whole stream of words about her future inventions seemed to know no end. And she would talk even if no one was listening and until intoxication made her sleepy. So the most common condition is talkativeness and sleepiness.

Leah usually prefers to have a couple of glasses of wine at home, alone, after a finished sculpture or painting. Or in the company of a dinner of fresh salad or delicate goat cheese at the Saloon. Alcohol always makes her feel relaxed, and the ginger haired artist will gladly surrender to the hands of calm and serenity during a well-deserved break. Leah is pretty well tempered in terms of drinking, but always drinks in moderation as she's not too fond of losing her motor coordination.

A couple of speciality cocktails, the recipes of which were invented by Emily herself - and the blue haired girl will turn from an energetic and joyful person into a more energetic and joyful person. She can't sit still, she needs to move, she needs to have fun and she needs others to have fun too. No aggression, just a lot of movement. Most of the time Emily goes straight to the direction of the dance floor. Tolerates strong alcohol quite well, but she rarely drinks and doesn't allow herself to do so at work in the Saloon.

Sophia owns a Bluemoon vineyard, works there alone, and naturally also tastes the wine she makes before bottling it. Just a little bit, but enough to make her feel quite normal from a couple of three strong cocktails in the Saloon with friends. Sophia can get a little louder and more chatty, sometimes she might giggle loudly at some funny joke or wave her arms around, but overall alcohol doesn't change her too much.

As with Penny, Claire has no tolerance for alcohol and would rather have a cup of tea than wine or whiskey. And so it came to pass that Claire also accidentally took a sip of some strong drink, mistaking it for something else, and what she feared - a headache - began. A severe, unbearable headache from even the smallest amount of alcohol in the body. So when she drank alcohol, Claire's face would be creased with a dull ache, and she would be weak, sad, and slightly irritable.

No strong wine in the Ferngill Republic can make Olivia lose her ability to adequately assess her state of mind or darken her eloquence. She doesn't drink several bottles of dry red wine in one sitting, of course not, but the former Joja accountant has been visiting many wineries since she was 20 years old to try out different types of wine. Some people might think that Olivia gets a little impatient (even flirtatious for some) after the fourth glass, but no wine will make her say or do anything indecent.

I can’t believe how down bad I am for Harvest Moon SNES.

I’m surprised how good it looks and feels to play despite being the first of its kind.

I also didn’t realize just how much it influenced Stardew Valley. I knew SV was essentially a nod to Harvest Moon, and it has things in common with other HM games, but HM SNES has a hot springs that restores stamina, a farm that has a very similar layout to SV’s farm (but flipped), small babies that run around, and the bachelorettes have a lot of parallels to SV’s. Ann is essentially proto Maru. I’m sure there’s more but I thought that was cool as hell!

Genuine question What in the world are you trying to put into Stardew Valley that is so “problematic” and no one else seems to have done it? I am so curious (And a little scared ngl)

So, I've only started adding mods to my playthroughs in sv in the last few months, and of course, sooner or later you arrive at the 'how fucked up can I make this game' station...

There are a lot of sv mods that have some nudity, but most larger, more extensive nsfw mods are focused on the bachelorettes - understandable, but not my cup of tea...

There are naked women scarecrow replacements, naked woman pet replacements, naked women sex machine replacements, naked women animal replacements (for the guys, there's only a monster men animal replacement with like extremely bara minotaurs and shit, but that is also not my type of fun, plus one single mod where Alex is a human pony horse replacement)

there is one 'horny bachelors' mod plus the accompanying 'horny festivals' that are focused on m/m but I found even those pretty... mainstream? I don't know how to describe it.

There are a few 'yandere' mods where this or that npc is obsessed with the farmer, which can be dark/creepy, but that is the darkest it goes - at least on the largest modding site I could find...

I couldn't really find any bdsm mods, any kinky mods (like, hey, Shane loves animals so much... can't we make him like them a little bit too much?) other than a few bachelorette animal replacements - but those are purely visual, there's no context, consequence, story behind it. There are no underage mods, no incest mods... There was a joke mod that let you marry Jas, but that had no nsfw content, other than the premise of it either...

I'm not like, trying to 'corrupt' sv or anything, the fun part of having mods is that you can personalize your own experience, and for some people and for some playthroughs maybe that could involve some less mainstream nsfw mods, you know?

the funniest thing you can do to a character who has a lot of different ships in canon/fandom is to make them aromantic. most eligible bachelor sees everyone as their friends

Happy Belated 2 Year Anniversary Stardew Valley!! (2/26/18)

I didn’t think this game would mean so much to me when I first started, haha. During that time, I was in a rather very stressful part of my life and this game was recommended to me by a friend to help ease that and sure it enough it did. Months later, I made this blog, met so many cool people, found motivation to draw more, and gained a lot of new friends. This is all so cheesy but I am very happy for this game and community to exist, it really made a big impact on me✨
