A messaging app or social media platform that uses crowdfunding. Its algorithm doesn't rely on rage baiting.
It fact checks information as you type and will correct false information for all users if submitted. It uses AI but it's updated frequently and doesn't consume valuable resources to run or manage systems. It's sustainable, ethical, and cuts down immensely on misinformation and propaganda.

Ok, look at me real quick because I'm tired of explaning this to full grown adults. You can NOT support generative AI and still claim to care about artists and writers in the fandoms you participate in. So that means if you spout pro generative AI rhetoric, and it gets you ostracized that is NOT the community or fandom being unfair or cruel to you. That is simply the conciquences of your own actions. Full stop.
#most of yall know this perfectly well and I love you for that.#please note that does not mean we go around bullying and threatening people who use AI.#that won't change their mind it will just give them a warped sense of justification.#block them and move on#because you know what hurts them worse then yelling at them?#making it so they cant see or interact with the real artist's who sustain these spaces.#It's a loanly world for those who choose to fuck around and find out.#fandom#stop ai#anti ai

There has got to be nothing more soul-sucking and devoid of humanity than being a "money minded" individual. If all you care about is profit, you immediately lose sight of morality.
Why is it considered immoral for a poor person to refuse to work themselves to the bone, but it's not immoral for the wealthy to squeeze desperate people of every penny they have in order to hoard incomprehensible amounts of money?
Why are the poorest people expected to never treat themselves to a nice meal or something they want, while the ultra rich eat gold and take 15 minute private jet flights guilt-free?
Why are there income caps on how much money a disabled person can save, but not how much money a billionaire can have?
Why is it okay to value a dollar more than a real life human being getting food, clean water, healthcare, and shelter?
How are poor people the selfish ones, when our planet is poisoned and destroyed by megacorps in the name of what's profitable?
Even the most basic expressions of human emotion and experiences are being gutted and replaced by hollow machinations because it's cheaper than paying a real artist, writer, developer, or creative to do the job.
We have enough resources for everyone on this earth to have a decent lifestyle, yet when we ask for the bare minimum we get a finger wagged in our face and told not to ask for too much.
It's maddening.

Here's a fun idea: how about we don't replace the writers who bring the humanity and art to the media we consume with ai, we instead replace the company executives with ai. Think about it, who could possibly calculate financial and market indicators better than a computer? Or analyze demographic markets or the financial efficacy or a project? Then the company doesn't have to pay the executives, the robot recognizes that keeping the writers, actors and production crew well paid is better for the company in the long run and everyone gets a raise. The only people who suffer are the billionaires who have hoarded more than enough money over the years to live comfortably for the rest of their lives. Win-win-win.

Semiconductors: The Driving Force Behind Technological Advancements
The semiconductor industry is a crucial part of our modern society, powering everything from smartphones to supercomputers. The industry is a complex web of global interests, with multiple players vying for dominance.
Taiwan has long been the dominant player in the semiconductor industry, with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) accounting for 54% of the market in 2020. TSMC's dominance is due in part to the company's expertise in semiconductor manufacturing, as well as its strategic location in Taiwan. Taiwan's proximity to China and its well-developed infrastructure make it an ideal location for semiconductor manufacturing.
However, Taiwan's dominance also brings challenges. The company faces strong competition from other semiconductor manufacturers, including those from China and South Korea. In addition, Taiwan's semiconductor industry is heavily dependent on imports, which can make it vulnerable to supply chain disruptions.
China is rapidly expanding its presence in the semiconductor industry, with the government investing heavily in research and development (R&D) and manufacturing. China's semiconductor industry is led by companies such as SMIC and Tsinghua Unigroup, which are rapidly expanding their capacity. However, China's industry still lags behind Taiwan's in terms of expertise and capacity.
South Korea is another major player in the semiconductor industry, with companies like Samsung and SK Hynix owning a significant market share. South Korea's semiconductor industry is known for its expertise in memory chips such as DRAM and NAND flash. However, the industry is heavily dependent on imports, which can make it vulnerable to supply chain disruptions.
The semiconductor industry is experiencing significant trends, including the growth of the Internet of Things (IoT), the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), and the increasing demand for 5G technology. These trends are driving semiconductor demand, which is expected to continue to grow in the coming years.
However, the industry also faces major challenges, including a shortage of skilled workers, the increasing complexity of semiconductor manufacturing and the need for more sustainable and environmentally friendly manufacturing processes.
To overcome the challenges facing the industry, it is essential to invest in research and development, increase the availability of skilled workers and develop more sustainable and environmentally friendly manufacturing processes. By working together, governments, companies and individuals can ensure that the semiconductor industry remains competitive and sustainable, and continues to drive innovation and economic growth in the years to come.

Dr. Keyu Jin, a tenured professor of economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science, argues that many in the West misunderstand China’s economic and political models. She maintains that China became the most successful economic story of our time by shifting from primarily state-owned enterprises to an economy more focused on entrepreneurship and participation in the global economy.

Tech Footprints
Just some context (provided by chatgpt):
Here’s a comparison of per-person carbon, water, and energy footprints, organized by footprint size:
Carbon Footprint (per year, per person):
Beef: 3,000 kg CO₂ (for 50 kg of beef)
Airlines: 1,200 kg CO₂ (one long-haul flight)
Gaming: 20-50 kg CO₂
AWS: 10-15 kg CO₂
AI: 2-5 kg CO₂
Water Footprint (per year, per person):
Beef: 770,000 liters (50 kg of beef)
AWS: 150-200 liters
AI: 100-200 liters
Gaming: 50-100 liters
Airlines: Negligible
Energy Footprint (per year, per person):
Airlines: 1,000 kWh (one long-haul flight)
Gaming: 200-250 kWh
AWS: 60-80 kWh
AI: 50-100 kWh
There's a lot of talk about AIs footprint, but I think people should understand that, so far, it's much less than other industries. That said, as society scales up AI, those numbers are going to grow quickly, so I think it's important that we work on how to maximize sustainability and efficiency of these systems.
At the same time, as I wrote about in another post, AI could rapidly expand our economic output for a fraction of the "footprint cost" of trying to expand the population to achieve the same goal. (Put another way: If we replaced 90% of IRS employees with an advanced AI system, one could expect that it'd get a lot more done, a lot faster, and with smaller footprints than the employees who were replaced.)
In terms of producing things and getting stuff done, AI could double our output with only a fractional increase in resource usage. This is extremely ideal.
The problem is that even if AI requires just 1% the resources as a person to do the same thing, as it becomes easier to access AI, it's usage may grow 10,000% (e.g. "hey AI, make me a movie, also some funny pictures, and also examine my x-rays, and also order and make dinner, etc..."). So even with needing just 1% of resources, if it's used 10,000% more, that's ends up being a lot of resources used.
So yes, we need to think about AI - it's footprints, its effects on employment, and a lot more - but let's not lose sight of the context (e.g. compared to other industries) and potential gains (massive growth in goods, services, and scientific advances).
