My original goal for composing Angels Gathering from Susie's lyrics was to create a song that she could play on piano. I knew that meant charting it. But, I did not quite understand how hard that would be.
I am proud to share that earlier this week we published the sheet music for Angels Gathering making it available on Sheet Music Direct, Sheet Music Plus, Music Notes...
For the technically curious, it took thirteen hours to chart Angels Gathering before editing by Susie. The MIDI and the audio were recorded together with the piano track. My thought was, "This will be easy... Buy an app, import the MIDi and life is good..." Well, it did not go quite that smooth. The piano did not directly convert to a single time signature and I only recorded MIDI for the accompaniment - left and right hands. There was no melody. In order to create a piano version, I had to write-out the melody by hand. I spent a hour or so running from the piano at one side of my office back to the computer on the other side. Like everything else, I did this the hard way - one dotted quarter note at a time.
Once complete, we decided to create an easy piano version for publishing which led to more editing and complications relating to software idiosyncrasies.
Despite writing quite a few songs, Angels Gathering is the first song that I charted since college. Let's just say that was a long time ago. It's a challenging process. But, I found it to be highly rewarding adding a sense of legitimacy to the songwriting process.

I got a request for Inky.
Inky can you, bendy and Brady wear an angel costume please?
Inky: But Susie taught me that angels can be creatures too. she was smug and tortured many people. so I don't think angels represent pure goodness. So I guess it's okay for me to wear this costume
Bendy: You asked Alice to design it like this and also don't make excuses about Susie, it's not even relevant
Inky: but....im.. *:l
Brady: Alice gave me her halo, but I had to lower my horns
Inky: oh yeah, you both look like real angels but i look like i just came out of war lol
*the three of them start laughing*

Chortle headlines, anyone?
This is hilarious to me, because I remember that episode of Question Team. I think it was filmed during Acaster's sort of lost years, between Cold Lasagne and Heckler's Welcome, when he quit social media and almost quit stand-up. He did this round on Question Team that, to be really honest, I didn't even find all that funny (I did enjoy a lot of Question Team, but it could be hit or miss as it changed every round, and I thought James' was a bit of a miss). But James got so excited during it, he kept repeating that he'd stopped enjoying comedy but this was great, it was the most fun he'd had doing comedy in ages. I kept thinking that the obvious assumption is he's saying that for a joke, doing a bit on a panel show, but it he was so committed to it, and it was so accurate to other stuff that Acaster was saying around that time (talking in interviews about being disillusioned with stand-up), that I wondered if he maybe he did actually mean it.
...Apparently he meant it. Enough to base a whole new show on it. Good for him, I guess. I don't intend to watch but I hope everyone involved has a good time.
Two pieces of great news, I look forward to the release of both these things. If anyone has not yet watched Cunk on Britain/Earth, go fix that immediately.
The sight of this picture (plus names beside it, since Fern Brady isn't in the picture) is the first thing that has ever, in my entire life, made me even slightly interested in watching a food-based TV show. Not interested enough so I actually will watch it, but still. Someone let me know if Adam Hills starts yelling at DO'D to take a cow apart at any point, and then I'll tune in.
Frankie mentioned in his latest newsletter that he'd be starting a podcast soon. I got excited about that, because I think The Promethiad is the best thing Frankie Boyle's ever done; I think he works best just on his own, talking into a recording device. So I did experience a very brief split second of disappointment when I saw the promised podcast is not that, it's a chat-based thing. Then I remembered that Susie McCabe is the best, and it can never be bad news if Frankie Boyle and Susie McCabe are going to talk to each other about anything at all and record that conversation. I also like that, as stated in the body of that article, it won't have any format points or anything. Just talking.
I like Christopher MacArthur-Boyd too. I recently watched his special and was slightly disappointed by the first half as I'd read a lot about how funny he was and thought it didn't quite meet expectations, but then the second half was better, and I think if I'd gone in with normal expectations I'd have thought it was great. Also, I think he might be one of those people whom I liked better than his comedy. As in, I didn't absolutely love his stand-up special, but I did really like him, just his general approach to things, so I'd be happy to listen to him talk some more about stuff.
I have already subscribed the podcast, first episode's supposed to be out next week.
You won't get me this time, Chortle, I will not be fooled again. It happened like four times in 2022-2023 that I'd see something about Jonathan Pie, think "Oh this looks interesting, someone known for being a creative and angry political comedian but I'd never heard of it before, I must look this guy up", then I do and remember it's Andrew Doyle from GB News, and then I forget about it and get interested again the next time I see it. Not this time! Go away!
I so often hear jokes making fun of "comedian wins major award for show in which said comedian complains about getting canceled". I hear those jokes so often than I should be sick of them by now, I should consider them trite and overdone. But I don't think they can get overdone when the absurdly over-the-top thing they're making fun of keeps unironically happening. Guess we'll have to keep the jokes going for a while longer.
Hello Edinburgh I am an artist may I have cheap accommodation?
Genuinely, though, this seems like a very good thing. Good for them. Also, I booked my Edinburgh accommodation in November and got pretty lucky to find a place at a fairly reasonable price, compared to the stuff I've read about how overpriced accomodation during the Edinburgh Festival is (not as cheap as the prices quoted in that article, but still, not bad).
There were also a bunch of headlines about Elis James and John Robins doing some new thing that I don't understand, I wish they would go the way of Frankie Boyle and just record themselves talking with no plan.

The Dork Legacy 2.6 part 3
Dante expresses my anger.
HAHA! You get her, HK!
HK-47: Statement: This is the most fun I have had since my reactivation. May I continue frying this meatbag, master?
Carry on, HK.
That'll teach you!
Chansey: *runs home crying to mama*
...HEY! YOU DIDN'T GIVE BACK MISTER SCURVY! ...bitch.
Oblivious to my pain, Caedmon earns a fishing badge and I miss the picture.
Nice name there, Jason. I did not have Free Time installed yet at this point, mind.
Oh, look, it's Becky Budge, Susie Budge's sister!
HK made some chocolates. It was boring because he didn't even put on a funny hat. ;-;
Yeah. Having everyone around was making my lot lag like hell, and besides, Nariko and Wander were like 3 points away from maxing all their skills anyway (and all three teens were overachievers - I make my sims work hard).
Almost Everyone: Bye, Nariko!
Einstein: Wow, this flower smells great!
Bao-Dur: WHAT THE HELL I GOTTA TURN OFF THE COMPUTER.
Kilik is channeling Brady from dothesmustle's Piper Legacy. :DD Einstein is oblivious.
Tara: *zapped*
Peter Griffin Kilik: Heh heh heh heh heh heh...
CAEDMON. THIS IS YOUR FINAL WARNING BEFORE I BOOLPROP YOU TO DEATH.
Yay! Mister Scurvy! All is right with the world. :D
So it is at this point that I installed Free Time. And loaded the Dorks' lot. And the game would freeze. Every time. So I took out my entire downloads folder, so that I could put all their career rewards in someone's inventory, and move them into the new house that I made them.
But...no CC meant...you guessed it! MAXIS MAKEOVERS!! :DD (DDDD:)
Here's a teaser.
Ah, isn't Caedmon beautiful?
Tara's not too bad.
HAHAHA. He's gonna go join a grunge rock band any second now. Also, holy eyebrows, Batman!

Hi Seedy Alliance. I can’t believe we’re just a couple days away from my very first election as a politician. I hope that by aligning with you all I gained credibility and trust with the Republican Party whom I want to work closely with to find middle grounds. My biggest wish is to be with you all during election night in our private business to relieve the tension of waiting for election results. This alliance is HOT and don’t let some old fashioned constituency advise you that it’s disreputable or gross. I bring intrinsic value into everything I do. I made Miami Lakes an affluent upper class community just by saying it is in my campaign because before we were definitely in the upper middle class. You and me—the hottest men in the U.S. Government deserve an alliance where they can be free to be normal men and whatever more comes to that. I know you republicans call it going fishing with the fellas, or going huntin with the fellas and some even go to mall restrooms because they can’t take it. I’m here to let you know that it’s okay, most women aren’t judgmental and in the current liberal-dominated environment, they’d be open minded. I plan on finding a girlfriend and wife that understands, so we can arrange for our wives to play with each other, while the men play with the men, which would be way hotter. I promise that all my ideas for fraternizing in government are in good faith to sow and reap collegiality in government for more reliance and efficiency. If we eat together, go to recreation together, if our families know each other, if we retreat to the woods together, etc. we would be a better government because we’re all friends here. We won’t cross any lines or boundaries that people aren’t comfortable with. For the hot recreation between government, we invite a tight and well trusted crew for dinner and drinks one Friday after work in PRIVATE TIME (FL and GA forgot about my private time and denied me based on private behavior protected by 4th Amendment)….we have have some drinks and then you start feeling the vibe if everyone is attracted to everyone. So one alpha man invites them back to their place for more drinks, Alpha man and his wing man have to make the first move with a consensual kiss. Alpha man tells the new government girls that they are having a lot of fun together right now and before we continue on we have to explain that we are in government and only have sex with others in government. We aren’t promiscuous except with a tight tight group of other government officials that we trust like Tom Brady. Then we tell them that they are invited to join the elite group and meet the rest. I can think of a lot of things that can be argued against doing this, but I’m the King so I overrule all laws and ethics that says government can’t fraternize with co-workers, judges, bosses, and opposing counsel. If you’re in government and you’re sleeping around with other government just for sexual pleasure and to get to know each other better, then that’s fine. Contrarily, if you are in government and sleeping around with other government officials for explicit favors, explicit preferential treatment, explicit pay raises, explicit promotions, explicit more time off, explicit retirement benefits, etc. then the person should be enjoined from the sexual activity pursuant to this Executive Order via Note to Seedy Alliance. I differentiated between explicit and implicit because for example, John Boss has a wife and they agreed to the new swingers protocol for the government officials in U.S. Government. John Boss—a well experienced patriotic 60 something white guy has been having intimacy with Susie Den, his whitish but with a Latina ass 20-something year old receptionist and he really enjoys it. They divide on political ideologies, but once at intimacy they leave their differences apart eliminating the adverse workplace effect that would had occurred if John Boss and Susie Den were not being intimate under the new law and protocol by the King. It has made him more loving, patient and passionate towards his wife because he does

9 favorite characters tag game
Thanks for the tag @contrivedcoincidences6 !
I tag, anyone interested because I’m lame like that.
Some of my faves as shown above:
Elaine Benes (an icon and a legend)
Niles Crane (my rewatch of Frasier has been a delight, and he is a huge reason for that)
Susie Myerson (I love Midge but Susie is the damn show for me)
Steve “Patch” Johnson (so yeah, I thought Stranger Things had a lock on redemption arcs for obnoxious, smarmy, long-haired denim vest wearing 80s dudes named Steve. The arcs where they’re revealed as sensitive, romantic goofballs and become protective badass papas to kids that they save from weird situations. Anyway, I was wrong. DOOL did it first and they did it brilliantly.
C.J Cregg (also an icon and a legend. I really need to do a West Wing rewatch.)
Kayla Brady-Johnson (seen here working undercover to help Steve while rocking a fedora. She’s a sweetheart badass surgeon who’s been to hell and back, even by soap heroine standards, (like she fought the literal devil last season when he possessed her best friend). Anyway, she’s a boss and an adorable dork and I’ll love her forever)
Liz Lemon (I’ve never related to a fictional character more in my life than I do to her. I love it but it also slightly frightens me)
Dana Scully (I mean, yeah. 😍 No explanation necessary)
David Rose (an actual king. this scene clinched my eternal love for this character and this show)
