U know stuff that really makes me wanna turn into a supervillian is looking at Hulk comics and just remembering the sheer lack of in-looks to female characters outside of Jen.
Like,,,,idk, it just seems SO wild to me that HCs (Hulk comics) have such a habit of replaying the same sorta saga over and over again (Bruce/Hulk find happiness with either each other and/or their lives, only for it to be torn apart and a majority of the time, a female character close to them dies or gets injured) and not even once. Y'know. Ever think on his actual relationships to people he's supposedly meant to be incredibly close to.
#the queen of smash (mun)#like. its CRAZY BRO. CRAAAZY.#you're really telling me so many writers looked at bruce;#a man shaped by the cruelty of other men but was also shaped by the kindness and strength of women growing up#only for them to litreally NEVER focus in on any of these women on a deeper aspect??#Jen is the only consistent one but that's because she's a huge seller on her own terms and separate enough from Bruce#Rebecca litreally only appears in flashbacks or that time her spirit was summoned OR in the down below where we ONLY ever saw her back#Betty's only solo times were the piggyback series off Ross or her time in the Defenders#And don't even get me started on aunt susan or all of Bruce's daughters#i just. MAN. letting Bruce interact with them more. giving them all focus outside of his main pain could make everything so much neater#i might come back to this to discuss some Thots on what sort of issues/writing I'd do

Zheng Yi Sao is so silly. She wears pigtails like a geeky schoolgirl, giggles and blushes like a goddamn fool whenever she's near the boy she likes, decides her disguise should be a soup seller with the name Susan. All the while, she's the most dangerous and intelligent person in the show

NOT MY ART! Click to see them all bigger, of course.
Here's a weird one in the merch department! Gravity Falls playing cards! But of completely mysterious origin!
After someone on reddit posting about getting these, I went to Amazon and looked them up. Listing didn't show the entire deck, but they were $10 when I bought them, so what the heck. That was like a week ago, and they're already showing as sold out on Amazon.
"Dennis Store" is simply the seller on Amazon. Someone in this thread on the United Cardists forum said they'd seen them sold under other brands on Amazon, but the likelihood is that the brand/company is Haakun. That name is on a lot of other similar playing card decks based on well-known TV and video game properties -- seen here on Amazon, and seen in that forum thread linked above (everything from Super Mario and Steven Universe to Jurassic World, and Friends, as well as several Disney properties like Princess and the Frog). But no name, and certainly no copyright info, appears anywhere on this set -- not on any card, and not anywhere on the box. Nor is there any indication of who the artist is. As one person in the forum thread above said, "these feel just a few cease-and-desist letters away from oblivion".
The art itself, as you can see, is pretty good. In a lot of cases it's taken directly from some recognizable still frames of the show, but in other cases it's clearly somewhat adapted (Tyler Cutebiker for example).
The selection of characters is, frankly, strange. No Ford, Soos, or Wendy; or Fiddleford. But... Toby Determined, Lazy Susan, Tyler Cutebiker? Robbie? Sheriff Blubs TWICE??? WHY? It's just so random. (I could understand a deck centered around the Cipher Wheel characters, but this very much is not.)
So, there you have it. It's currently showing as sold out on Amazon, but it might come back in stock; or maybe it can be found elsewhere, on eBay or something.
(Again, just to be clear: NOT MY ART.)

"And then when she was in escrow earlier this month, her broker called her late at night on May 17, a Friday, with some bad news.
The seller wanted to pull out of the deal.
Why? “You could hear the fear and disbelief in his voice,” Dr. Baxter said, recalling what her broker told her next. “He said, ‘I don’t know how to tell you this, but she doesn’t want to sell the home to you, and it’s because you’re Black.’”
The seller, Jane Walker, 84, is white.
...
Two federal laws — the Fair Housing Act of 1968 and the much older Civil Rights Act of 1866 — make it illegal for both home sellers and their real estate agents to discriminate during a home sale. But more than 50 years after redlining was outlawed, racial discrimination remains an issue, housing advocates say. A multiyear undercover investigation by the National Fair Housing Alliance, a Washington-based nonprofit coalition of housing organizations, found that 87 percent of real estate agents participated in racial steering, opting to show their clients homes only in neighborhoods where most of the neighbors were of their same race. Agents also refused to work with Black buyers and showed Black and Latino buyers fewer homes than white buyers.
...
... with the home sale in escrow and on the same day of a home inspection, Dr. Baxter and Dr. Gamble made the three-hour drive to Virginia Beach to see the house in person for the first time. Ms. Walker arrived as the couple was leaving, and Ms. Walker’s agent, Susan Pender of Berkshire Hathaway RW Towne Realty, introduced the seller to the buyer.
Shortly after Dr. Baxter and Dr. Gamble drove away from the home, Ms. Walker informed her agent that she was not willing to sell her home to a person who is Black and she wished to cancel the sale, according to a chronology of events compiled by Mr. Miller and shared with The New York Times by Dr. Baxter. Mr. Miller declined to comment, and Ms. Pender did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
But what followed, according to Dr. Baxter and Dr. Gamble and supported by Mr. Miller’s recounted, written timeline, was a series of frantic actions by real estate agents on both sides focused on salvaging the home deal.
...
Dr. Baxter’s home sale remains set to close later this summer. But even if the deal goes through, her rights under the Fair Housing Act have still been potentially violated, said Brenda Castañeda, deputy director of advocacy for HOME of VA, a nonprofit that assists Virginians who believe they have experienced housing discrimination. Real estate agents are required by law to not discriminate, which means they must inform sellers who insist on acting with prejudice that they will not represent them, and extricate themselves from a sale if the seller will not acquiesce. But there are other ways discrimination can play out.
“I don’t know that you can cure discrimination just by changing your mind and going through with the deal,” Ms. Castañeda said, adding that the actions of the real estate agents on both sides could also be a violation. “There may be damages experienced by that person because they’ve experienced a loss of their civil rights and the distress of having a discriminatory statement said to them.”
She added, “Dr. Baxter has experienced harm whether the transaction goes through or not. We just want this to be a wake-up call to people.”"

How did the Fantastic Four cosplay get made?
It started with an idea: to create the most comic accurate fantastic four costume possible. Already I'm hit with the question "but there's so many suits in the comics, so which suit will you choose?" I decided the easiest answer would be "The First One"
Okay I meant "The Second One."
There we go.
Now this costume is not the same as the the costume they wear for the majority of the Kirby run. By issue 6, the costume above was phased out for one without a turtleneck, a blue ring around the 4, a thinner belt, and no drop shadow on the 4. The only change I prefer is that Susan is no longer wearing high heels.
I like the first design better for its distribution of color. The thicker belt just reads nicer to my eyes, and the blue ring around the 4 makes no sense to me. Blue on blue? I also just really like turtlenecks.
Tangent aside, once I decided on a costume, it was time to get to work on the design. Part of the reason I made a Fantastic Four costume retrospective was in preparation for this project. Using the combined lore of the F4 costumes, I could synthesize the most accurate design possible, and my findings can be found below.
I've seen a lot of cosplays too, and part of my secondary goal was to avoid a lot of their shortcomings. I didn't want any bad materials, so I did my research and found materials that best fit my autism texture preferences. I also wanted to be very precise about where the gloves, belt, boots, and turtleneck were placed, hence why I decided to sew them all on, rather than be separate pieces. In an ideal world, there would've been no zipper, but what good is a suit you can't put on?
My brightest idea was separating the leotard from the trousers, instead of having one body suit. This was done as a practical measure to prevent tearing (which is exactly why real strong men in the circus wore them, which in turn inspired Superman's design, and the rest is history. For the F4, I interpreted Jack's artwork as a leotard, or maybe just underpants on the outside. As far as I'm aware, no cosplayer has noticed or applied this to their suit.
Next was a matter of finding someone to make this. I'm an artist, not a tailor after all. Twitter bots flooded my DMs, but what didn't disappoint me was Etsy. I DM'd a few sellers, gauging their personality and their previous work. I settled on PingPing, who you can find here: https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/PingPing
Their portfolio was exactly what I was looking for, and they were wonderful to work with. They asked for additional measurements, were up-front about materials, and were very fast!
Here's the catch. Their page says they use polyester spandex, which was what I wanted, but when they got back to me about materials, they gave me a nylon spandex blend. This made me nervous because I didn't know how this material felt, but every website I read told me it was ideal for sportswear and moving around as it was comfy and good at keeping sweat in, which was what I was looking for regardless.
The real issue was that nylon and spandex is one of the worst fabrics for printing. Nylon/Spandex doesn't do well with a heat press, either melting the fabric or causing shrinkage. In addition, the tight weave makes it really hard to allow flex in printed elements, not to mention adherence.
Their solution to this was to stitch on the logo, but I watched the 1994 Fantastic Four movie where they did just that, and it looked like crap! I took a big risk and told them that I would do the printing myself. I live in Toronto after all, surely there's at least one shop in the city that had the ability to do this.
Right?
That was a problem for Future Penny to solve, so I sent the payment and waited eagerly for my california-based commissionee to finish... and finish they did!
I was so excited seeing this. Even without the logo, it was already exactly how I envisioned it! It even wrinkled the same way around the belly that it does in the comics. I was floored! I was a little shocked that they shipped it before I was able to give notes, but then again, if I had requested any changes, they'd likely have to start all over. Thank goodness it's perfect.
It arrived at my apartment shortly after. I put it on, and it was the most comfortable thing I've ever worn in my life. Because it was tailor made, it hugged my body so well, I was quoting Ned Flanders in his ski outfit! I showed my girlfriend and she was a blushing mess (it was perhaps too revealing).
But there was still the matter of the logo. I called up several places across the city, got into email correspondence with them, and discussed what could be done. Unfortunately, out of the seven places that got back to me, none of them felt comfortable with the material.
I was stuck, if the city of Toronto couldn't do it, who could? That's when I realized how stupid I was:
"Don't I attend an arts school?"
With a tote bag in hand carrying the suit, I made my way to the campus, marching toward the textiles department. I had lied to them saying this was for a school project, but I think they all knew what this was really about. Despite this, they were fully on-board to help me.
The first thing that had to be done was make the screen layers. Their process of printing on fabric was to make stencils of the logo that represented each color (in this case, black and white. The blue was just the fabric itself). I hopped onto photoshop and whipped up the layers pretty fast.
Now it could've been printed that day, but there was a request. They wanted a swatch to print on to make sure printing on this tricky fabric wouldn't damage anything. In hindsight, it was really funny having to buy a $1 swatch with $20 shipping and handling. The swatch arrived quick, and I immediately set up an appointment to print the suit the next day.
It was raining hard, the thunder was so loud I thought it was right above my head, and Passover had begun. I was greeted by two wonderful students named Mya and Nicole. They brought my stencils into the dark room and had them imprinted on a screen like so:
They started out on a white canvas fabric, just to make sure it printed well.
Success! The next test was for the pigments themselves.
Uh oh, what happened? Well the black they were using was a transparent black, which was overlayed on the white dye, making it more see through than we wanted. The fabric itself shifted as well, so it was grossly misaligned. Always tighten your fabric with pins, folks. Another student who I can't remember the name of was able to search the storage area for better black dye.
Don't be fooled by the yellow lighting, that's a black print on blue fabric, not a gold print on a white fabric. Regardless, the black worked! The final test then... was the nylon/spandex swatch.
I couldn't believe it! It actually looked really great! The colors are really crisp, and it even allowed for a bit of stretching (an accidental benefit of the blue part being just the fabric is that it creates less strain on the print itself).
The big problem was that, during the drying phase when the white was applied, they used a hair dryer, which due to the heat, caused warping, hence the misalignment. That meant that when it came time to print on the suit for real, it had to air dry in a dry environment.
Through the leg holes, a block of wood with foam attached covered by a canvas fabric is placed inside (wasn't expecting to get any wood thrust in the suit, feels violating). Euphemisms aside, this was to steady the sheet used to print, as well as to hold the fabric and place and prevent the bumps created by the zipper on the back.
We must've spent 5-10 getting the logo to center and at a right angle. The entire time we were applying paint, we were nervous as hell. I had made the mistake of telling them this suit cost me $600, and there was no going back.
We watched with baited breath.
ALRIGHT IT'S GOOD IT LOOKS GOOD OKAY IT'S HAPPENING IT'S REALLY HAPPENING!! We waited for it to dry for about 45 minutes I think. I got something from the café and sat there thinking about how I was doing this on Passover. Jack Kirby's faith meant a lot to him, and it felt fitting that I brought to life one of his creations during a holiday he would celebrate. I think about my own faith sometimes... I'll leave it at that for now.
I got back into the studio, and they were waiting for me to put on the black coat. We spent another 5-10 minutes lining up the logo with the other logo so it would be the cleanest possible.
The last step was now.
And there it was. Words failed me, I admit. All I could do was look in stunned amazement that this was REAL!
We let it dry for another 45 minutes, where then they took out the pins and presented the fabric to me. They told me not to wash it for a whole month, which I then asked them what settings I should use for the washer. They told me to machine wash cold and delicate, and hang dry, which is thankfully exactly what PingPing told me to do. I walked home with the costume, hung it up in my closet, and joined my roommate for the seder meal.
Thank you for reading.

I am conditioned to look for mirror couples after spending the last 2 months continuously rotating good omens in my mindcrowave and I've seen two great posts about the parallels between Zheng Yi Sao & Auntie and Ed & Izzy:
this one by @katacala and this one by @ismellpestilence
I also see Zheng Yi Sao & Olu mirroring Ed & Stede (the second linked post mentions this too):
When Stede first meets Ed, Ed doesn't immediately reveal that he is Blackbeard and also saves him after he gets himself pretty stabbed up by some Spaniards. // When Olu meets Zheng Yi Sao, she's soup seller Susan and then she saves him from Spanish Jackie's nose jar.
Ed tells Stede that being with him is the most fun he's had in ages. // Zheng Yi Sao tells Olu he's the break in her day.
Unlike Izzy who is great at sword fighting and being a complete asshole, Stede isn't much of a typical pirate, but he is hopeful and endearing. // Unlike Auntie who had a complex filing system ahead of its time, Olu can't file to save his life and we're pretty sure he broke the abacus but he's calm and smart in other ways.
Ed flirts by pointing his gun at Stede and then getting Stede to stab him in the liver and Izzy mistakes the moaning for… other moaning. // Zheng Yi Sao flirts by grilling Olu about Jim and holding her sword to Olu's chest and when Auntie comes in. she says 'get your pants on' even though Olu's pants are on.
Ed initiates their kiss and doesn't notice Stede seems stressed/hesitant. // Zheng Yi Sao kisses Olu and doesn't seem to notice/be bothered that Olu is worried about his friends and also scared bc he thought she was going to kill him.
Stede leaves Ed to go back to his family. // Olu leaves Zheng Yi Sao to go back to his.
I'm even thinking Stede's 'his name is Ed' moment with Mary feels a bit like the scene when Jim tells Olu they kissed Archie and they shoulder bump. >.>
During the 'girl how are you' scene, Zheng Yi Sao says:
Z: I've dated my share of guys on wanted posters. They're hot, but it always ends in a massacre, and the wrong people get hurt. S: Maybe we could avoid that happening here. Z: I am feeling a little merciful today~
I'm hoping this conversation is foreshadowing them avoiding the type of reaction Ed had to Stede disappearing! lol but who knows
Also re Olu and Jim I'm hoping we'll get some sort of more chill, less strictly monogamous situation ('see? we don't own each other' kind of vibes) bc I'm not ready to let go of tealorange but I'm also liking Archie and Jim and I want Zheng Yi Sao to have whatever she wants (✯◡✯)

"An excerpt from Lauren’s Diary… 'There is so much more going on here than we realize. I do think humanity is losing touch with itself and their relationship with their surroundings... Unfortunately, it usually takes a huge trauma to get people to realize what is important, and I feel that is what is going to happen… I am not afraid of death, for it is only a transition. Wild Kratts Headcannon! (OC)
Nigel/Antonio/Andrew/Susan
OC: 1/???
Nigel Hunter William Jr.
Age: 45
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bi-curious
Birthday: January 15th
Zodiac Sign: Capricorn
Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 180 lbs
Body Shape: Fit, chubby a bit, though
Favorite Color: Brown and red
Verts: Ambivert, mostly extrovert
Phobia: Pediophobia (Fear Of Dolls)
Hobbies: Hunting, reading, and rock climbing/hiking.
Backstory
This man was born in a family of hunters and sellers, who take animals or anything involved with cash, (like gems, money, etc), where he learns how to use hunting and selling as one. He began to train with his dad, where he met Antonio and Andrew, and the trio began to bond as acquaintances (his words). He doesn't have a tragic background, since he is just a dick, but enjoys the rush of hunting.
Voice Actor
His voice actor is Jack Hawkins, the same voice actor for this sweet fella named Gummigoo, from The Amazing Digital Circus!
If you know, you know. RIP🕊️😔
(Also spoilers, but the trio from the Amazing Digital Circus is what also inspired me to make these three!)
Family and Relationships
Like I said, he doesn't have an issue with his family. He is the only child to a man and woman, and was raised by them to become a poacher, so not much there.
He's a father and husband, he's married to a beautiful woman, Lita, who's 43, for 15 years after the two met at a gun range. He has a daughter who's 6 years old, who he adores so much and would be a wonderful father to her, even doing silly things with her like tea parties and doing make up. My boi is a girl dad by heart. 💅✨
Even if Andrew and Antonio can be annoying, he does care about them, seeing the two as brothers, even if sometimes, he wants to strangle the stupidity out of them.
For the villains, he likes Gourmand, the two even sometimes hunt whenever they want to. He doesn't care much for Donita and Dabio, cause he's not too keen on the fashion things, though his daughter loves her designs. However, he doesn't like Zach and Khris, ESPECIALLY Zach, since him having a crush on Chris is a sign of weakness, and how he just doesn't like how annoying he is.
For the Kratt Crew, he obviously hates them, but he does respect Martin for being protective for his brother, yet that's it. He still doesn't like them, in fact, he's like "Why can't we just kill them?" Most of the time.
Facts For Nigel
Nigel is on the watchlist??? 👀
Nigel doesn't listen to much music, but whenever he reads, he mostly puts on ASMR background noises to relax.
Nigel has a fear of dolls, because when he was young, he gave an old doll he didn't like, since it looked broken, to his neighbor. But one day, that neighbor was found dead and the doll was by the body, which made him immediately scared and asked his wife to buy his daughter some dolls.
Nigel adores the classic movies like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, even some animated films like An American Tail and Pinocchio.
Nigel can drink his whiskey neat~ but really though, he drinks a lot, not as an alcoholic, but close enough ig.
Nigel has anger issues, yet he doesn't know why.
Nigel secretly kept a baby tiger, cause it was cute, and his daughter wanted one, but no one knows, except his wife.
That's all for now! If you have any questions, please comment down!

JOMP BPC - 18th September - One Word Title
If you're an introvert and have grown up feeling less able, less liked, somehow just less than your extroverted peers, then Quiet by Susan Cain is well worth a read. I found it validating and comforting and felt genuinely better about myself through reading it.
I do find it ironic that the cover design for the book was very simple and calm - quiet, in fact - just a plain white cover with a white embossed title. And then the marketing department and the book sellers got their hands on it and put big orange and black stickers on it.
